Lo Que La Vida Me Robo 191 --The Miraculous One-Day Redemption of Jose Luis Alvarez-- 8/7/2014
Labels: robo
Please enjoy discussing the capitulo. It had some very lovely moments.
I will join you if I feel better in the morning.
Kind Regards,
Elna June
I wondered if Gracie wouldn't give us a "paralyzed insurance claimant leaps up for hidden camera" moment. We didn't see it, but we and Rosario can imagine it. Continue to love hearing Gracie and Rosario use their special nicknames for one another.
Erick and Esme, prime contenders for awkward last minute story line award.
So now more people know--Big Bad Benjamin was the driver of the car that robbed Pedro of his life force, not Alejandro. So sorry, mistaken identity creates revenge gone wrong, but too late to fix.
So many regrets in this TN, both poignant and petty.
I am so hoping you are feeling better in the morning. Sending you healing thoughts and many hugs.
Loved this episode, with JL in most of it. I just knew he was still noble deep down. I loved the sequence with Angie and JL, oh why, oh, why did the writers have to have her die? She would have been such a great asset.
I loved the chat JL had with the Padre and also JL's chat with Monse and Ale, his telling Monse he didn't love her anymore and belonged with Ale. I also liked the hug between Rosy and JL. The best part though, was JL telling Ale exactly why Peddy is out to get Ale. Poor Ale had no clue, no one ever told him. So now JL will fight the good fight like getting El Alacran and Peddy. I also liked the talk JL had with Esme and told her she wasn't alone.
So now we have proof that Guady has been faking. Mr. Mads was at it again. He came downstairs for a drink, saw Rosy wheel her in and sat down and watched until they showed the scene of Guady in the bed and the wheelchair so far off. Mr. Mads says, so does the Guady one realize how far that wheelchair is from the bed? I just laughed and sure enough here came Rosy asking about how Guady got into the bed. She crawled? Mr. Mads and I had a good laugh, Mr. Mads was sure, sure she crawled. I hope they do an eye>>mind moment, like NovelaMaven calls it and we see how she did it for realz.
That moment with Esme and Eric was strange in the D.F. Who knew that Eric was a richy rich. But like he said his parents are but he isn't. Sad his Mama is dead, and the Papa still looks unforgiving.
Thanks so much Elna June for this marvelous recap. It may be brief, but you got absolutely all the high points.
Does anyone know the nicknames (insulting ones) that Gracie calls Rosie and then Rosie calls Gracie back. Something like Chula, Chele or something along those lines? I think they said this back and forth when Rosie was carrying Gracie's tray out after seeing that Gracie got up from her wheelchair into the bed by herself.
Victoria, I just reserved Now, Voyager at my local public library. Maybe your local library has it?
Rosy calls Gracie "Chela" and Gracie calls Rosy "Chayo" or (I think) "Chayito". Chela and Chayo are common nicknames for Graciela and Rosario.
They are regular nicknames and are usually used affectionately but a long time ago Graciela started calling Rosario "Chayito" in a very condescending, superior way as if she were a child so Rosario threw it back at her by calling Graciela "Chela".
Thanks for clearing up the nickname business. As a "Vikki" from "Victoria", I never understood the Latin nicknaming business. My husband's (Dominican) cousins all have the most hysterical nicknames, but I would have never guessed the those for Graciela and Rosario.
So we finally have our proof and Rosario made the discovery. I hope she tells Dimitrio first because he will think of a way to trick Gracie into revealing it, preferably in front of Monse and Alejandro.
Alejandro, JL, and Dimitrio need a plan to bring Pedro down. Here is hoping that Dimitrio's grief and need for revenge doesn't get in his way.
These appearances by Angelica are disturbing. Back in the middle of the series Alejandro's near-death experience was obviously meant for him to learn something; we didn't have to be afraid he would die. Now I'm not so sure about JL.
Like Sylvia, I loved the "Erik's hat is too small, he looks like a dolt." For some reason he looks like a dolt even without it. Must be the dorky role he's playing here. He was wonderfully hawt as the dubious character in Gancho.
Won't have time to see this till we get back from Charlotte but will look forward to it then.
Hope you enjoy your stay in Charlotte, the city where I was born and now where I live. Have fun!
Elna June:
A few years ago, after trying many different medications, my neurologist put me on a daily dose of "Topamax". It has worked wonders for me! I even tried Botox injections in my head which didn't do anything to stop the migraines. But "Topamax" has kept my migraines from occuring so frequently. Just a suggestion.
How tenacious you must be in order to have posted the most important parts of this episode with a migraine. That's more than most people would be able to accomplish even without a headache. Unless you've experiened a migraine, you can't begin to compare a regular headache with a migraine. They are worlds apart!
Get a chair for Rosario at the "Graciela is faking it table"! That final exchange between Graciela and Rosario was the highlight for me. I wonder when and how Montse and Dimitrio will find out the truth about Graciela and what there reaction will be. Might we hear her anvil being forged as we enjoy our coffee out on the Patio this beautiful morning?
So finally Ale understands Pedro's vendetta. It was good seeing JL come to his senses.

Maybe their chemistry from LQLVMR has poured over into real life!
I grew up and live just a few miles south of Myers Park in a neighborhood known as Landsdowne. (My sister lives in Myers Park.) What a coincidence!
If I weren't bedridden, I'd love to meet you. That would be so cool. Charlotte is a great place to live. I missed the city greatly all the years I lived overseas.
Have a great time with your family.
I am a lurker- but have been reading the blog since Teresa. Thanks for all the great recaps!
But sorry to hear that you are bedridden. So happy though that you have a virtual community of friends here to "visit with" every day. Sending you loving, healing thoughts.
Wondering if Gracie is faking, how did she fake out the doctor? Or could she really have a brain tumor and is prematurely faking the symptoms? Did she switch CT scan results? Factitious disorder to add to her complex of personality disorders?
Erik ? Loved your comment on his small hat. Pero por que? Why is he even in this story and why can't I care that his dad is still unforgiving? It's like just let this story end with some grace without starting a whole new TN.
La Paloma, love your award for the most "awkward last minute story line"!
Reading your recaps make me happy. Always. Despite whatever dreadful events occurred, I am always calmed, charmed and buoyed by your razor sharp insight and marvelous humor. Gracias...
As Sylvia noted "Even through your haze of pain you managed to massively crack me up with "Erik’s hat is too small for his head. He looks like a dolt". Not at all surprising Sylvia, Judy and I all agree this was a gem...
I'm so glad that we are now meeting Erik's odious father at the 11th hour. I mean, we desperately needed filler asthere is nothing much going on in the main storyline...simply murders, mayhem and a madman to name but a few. This might have been interesting or noteworthy say 50 episodes ago. Putting my crankiness aside, if this relationship morphs into something that will make Esme happy, I will go with the flow as she certainly deserves it.
And, a second night without a murder! A refreshing reprieve from the recent blood baths.
You know that I savored and soaked in every minute of JL's redemptive scenes. I am crazy about the actor and the character. Good grief man, what took you most of this novela to realize Angie was the love of your life. I'm just praying that you will be able to spend more time on earth with your beloved daughter before you join her. And yes UA, good point about the fact we weren't afraid Ale would die after his vision. Let's hope JL has the same outcome.
And it appears all at the Crackpot Theorists table were spot on that Graciela is faking it. I didn't believe it but my heavens, I (like Rosario) have finally gotten a clue. Jarifa "Might we hear her anvil being forged as we enjoy our coffee out on the Patio this beautiful morning"? Yes!
I was shocked at how much the previews revealed but won't mention it here.
Victoria, my sympathies on your migranes as well. I do not have them but imagine they are excruciating.
Judy, safe trip and a wonderful time with your family. Your voice is always sorely missed when you are away.
Elna June, thank you for all your amazing efforts. Please feel better soon!
Diana
Maybe it was me, but all the scenes with JL suddenly discovering Angie was the love of his life, well I cry foul. I know we are in forgiveness and wrap it up mode, but just rang false to me and felt more like a setup. For everyone's sake, glad they are all coming together since I think we are needing the "good guys" to work as one against Pedro.
Adolfo is so a piece of work. I just can't believe he is roping Fina further into his messed up existence. I about imploded at the previews knowing we go as far as a wedding ( which I seriously doubt will happen.)
Dear Rosario--I guess she has the proof that Gaudy isn't necessarily the brightest con woman. She always makes some stupid mistake with her schemes. That was a doozy. Of course being the sweet woman she is, will Rosario squeal? Frankly, I would. Would not want to see young people I care for being duped again. With Gaudy, you never know what her end game is.
Still don't get why we have this whole Erik story line during ultimates, but did feel bad for him wanting to make amends. Of course, all this will lead Esme to feel closer to Erik and blah blah blah...couple done. I guess they want one side happy coming together story with all the mayhem.
Nice to see Padre so busy. Good to see someone working. And does this town even have a mayor or police chief any more? If JL is still the chief, yeah that would be my beanie splattered across the walls. (I'd vote Carlotta as mayor frankly.)
Daisynjay
I'm with you on the "big eye roll"! As I've blogged earlier, this novela gets sloppier and sloppier as the ending approaches. The writers spent months getting us to the point where we are today, have thrown the kitchen sink at us, and now they expect to wrap everything [well not everything (i.e., DNA test on Peddy, Don Ben's ring, etc., etc.)] up in a nice blue--Agua Azul--bow!
Madelaine, so, Mr. Mads wants a seat at the "Graciela is Faking It Table"? That will bring the count to 17 :))
I sensed that something was up the minute Barbie Doll Montserrat walked in the room with the breakfast tray. Gaudencia had undergone a rather acute and abrupt makeover!! Just 24 hours earlier, she was a plain Jane. In Bed, she was approaching previous glam status.
HOLY COW! She was literally signalling her lying, faking ways with her very close to pompous attitude in that bed.
It is clear from Dimitrio's eyes (I will say it again, the truth is always in the eyes_, that he is not buying everything that Gaudencia is selling. Only Airhead Montserrat is buying it hook, line, and sinker.
Dimitrio is still thinking about all that Gaudencia has done to them and to others, but what she has done to them emotionally is a crime that cannot easily be wipe out.
I am so glad it was Rosario who saw the truth of what Gaudencia hoped would be her biggest con. I am so glad.
As for JL, the Angelica sighting has me worried, but as welcome as the "Miraculous One Day Redemption" is to many, it was rather a bit of an eye rolling happening.
The Erik story line is clearly filler, but I'm sure the writers will have this dilemma of Erik's solved in no time. Why do the writers do this?! Makes me wonder if Refugio's death was a last minute change.
I still laugh when the opening song and credits are being run at the mid-way point and the Tundra rolls up like it is a character, too. I think Oxnard Huero has commented upon this in the past, but it still kills me!

Ay ay ay. The enemy strikes again. I'm so sorry you had a hellish evening. I hope that by the time you see this, you are beginning to feel better.
It is amazing that, in spite of your pain, you pulled all this out of your very appropriately-sized hat -- a sharply-worded summary with just a little bit of bite:
"Erik’s hat is too small for his head. He looks like a dolt."
[Perhaps you recall that Fabiola had a similar problem early on -- and look at how she ended up!]
Thank you so much, my friend!
To Maricruz and my beloved Crackpots at the Gracie is Faking It table: what if she is faking the onset of her symptoms, but not her illness?
On Pedro's anatomical defect:
If I never hear the sentence "Pedro Medina has no testicles" again, it will be too soon. What a very distasteful narrative peg this has been on which to hang a key motivation. It has brought out the worst in all of us (myself included), but especially in the writers.
Daisynjay,
I also felt the JL redemption felt false in the context of everything we already know. (If we were just tuning in for this episode, I'm sure we would have been quite moved.) I suspect that Elna June was going to develop this very point as evidenced by her brilliant title:
The Miraculous One-Day Redemption of Jose Luis Alvarez"
About Eric's place in the story:
There is some truth in the truism that by helping someone else, we can sometimes pull ourselves out of despair or grief. The problem is that Esmeralda's grief is so raw and new.
Let her friends comfort her with their presence, let them help with her son; but in the name of all that is holy, let the woman grieve.
What's the timing here? Romina still has two days left of a five-day course of antibiotics? Esmeralda should still be sitting shiva!
PS: JudyB and Susanlynn, I hope you both have lovely lazy summer weekends with the family (and perhaps a drink with a tiny umbrella, a pool, a float, a daydream or two).
I'm so sorry that a migraine headache has struck. Even so, you somehow managed to give us an excellent and entertaining compilation of last night's events. Thank you.
While it makes no sense to me, in light of Graciela's inexplicable and uncharacteristic lapse last night, I'm going to have to concede that she is likely faking her fatal affliction (so, NovelaMaven, do you suppose there will be a recall on those Carlos Is Always Right tee shirts?). I just hope that the writers at least give us a semi-plausible explanation of her thinking. Faking a rapidly progressive, uniformly fatal neurological disease is simply not a viable long-range strategy. You would think someone with Graciela's impressive resume of deception and manipulation would be a bit more cunning and creative.
I was impressed and amused with the simultaneous conversations going on between Graciela and Rosario... one spoken and one silently communicated through their facial expressions.
Was anyone surprised to learn that Eric's mom died from tristeza?
Carlos
The Carlos Never Posts Spoilers bumper stickers are also selling briskly.
Yes, Mr. Mads will be joining us at the Gaudy is faking it table. He too thinks it's all in the eyes. He said Guady was sweating blood when Rosy was asking her how she got into the bed. Even if she crawled, let's say, how did she haul herself up, without the use of her legs? Hmmm......
Carlos:
We love your Carlos is Always Right T-shirts and I have put in my order for the bumper sticker : )
I totally buy JL's redemption tour and that a visit from Angelica could clear his head. I've seen it happen in real life, though not with angels from above. I think JL's motivation for the visits with Monse and Ale and the Padre are to set himself up to be a good father to Romina. This isn't JL's first information tour. This is the same sort of thing he did before he married Angelica - he let Tia Pru know he wasn't in love (then) with Angelica, he let Angelica know he wouldn't accept living off her money, and he made a point to tell Monse he was getting married.
I'm trying to reconcile Angelica saying she was still waiting and her earlier death-bed request to Fabiola to capture JL's heart. No idea what will happen, but maybe JL will have a near-death experience and Angelica will tell him it's not his time yet and she'll just continue waiting.
Kudos to all who guessed Graciela was faking it! So this means Graciela's No. 1 reason for living is closeness with her kids, or manipulation of her kids? Goodness, she went to much hardship (no makeup and no fab clothes) to be with them. I would love for Rosario to set up Graciela to be exposed before the family. Kudos to both actresses. They said few words, but both women spoke volumes.
I want to see Esme happy, but Erik doesn't strike me as a strong father for Angel. Though he and Esme look about the same age, Erik seems stuck in his teenage years, when he made that tragic mistake, and not like a grown man.
Anon@ 11:17 - Esme owned La Escondida, so maybe she will use the $ from its sale to start another dance-related business. It always bugged me that she never thought of a compromise to pole dancing, like opening up a salsa club or a dance studio.
Niecie, ITA about Esme's "career". She wouldn't be the first telenovela character to turn a strip/pole dancing club into a legitimate and profitable business. Like others I also find it odd that she fought so hard to be a dancer and now, pffffft!, it's out the window.
RE: Gracie's faking, although I found the idea of being able to fake her illness completely outside the realm of reality, I rolled my EZ-Come EZ-Go chair up to the table because such an elaborate charade just seemed so much LIKE her.
Carlos, I am not holding my breath for a plausible explanation from the writers. I suspect this will be one of numerous plot details that remain unexplained or forgotten as we wind this up.
Yes, Erik looks like a dolt, but his near-stalkerish behavior is what creeps me out. Esme asked him to leave her alone and he's popping up everywhere at every hour.
The rewind of JL/Angelica's life together reminded me of how beautiful their wedding was. In my mind theirs was the most joyful and beautiful wedding of this TN.
I'm hoping Rosario brings Montse and Carlota into Gracie's room so they can all have tea together. Then Rosie *accidentally* drops a hot cup of tea in Gracie's lap causing her to jump out of bed cursing. They could all enjoy her miraculous recovery together.
Well crack pot theorists, I had such a big laugh with Gracie and Rosie. That was so crazy! I had been inching my way toward the table but last night sealed it. I question, like Carlos, what is her endgame?
EJ: thanks for the recap. Considering you had a migraine, you went above and beyond the call of duty. My mother had migraines. I remember how depilating they were for her. Feel better soon.
Angelica flashbacks. I cried.
I don’t like the way they just shoe-horned Erik into the story. This late in the game, there really is no time for character development or building a relationship with Esme, especially since Ref just died. It just seems off to me. I would rather see Esme with JL than Erik.
I thought that Erik looked silly in that hat, too. Then later, I wondered if it was his brother’s hat and felt bad.
I’ll CONCEDE that Gracie is faking the leg thing. That does not necessarily mean she is faking her illness. ;) However, it doesn’t seem likely that the writers would have such an evil character die surrounded by her reconciled children. But then I didn’t expect the writers to kill off Ref. Or Monica, for that matter.
Nanette
Thanks to each of you for coming by. It means a great deal to recappers when someone comments and wishes us well. I can sense all the kind thoughts sent my way.
OT
Migraine Headaches. Yikes. For those of you who have lived with them, you have my sincerest sympathy (Victoria, Daisynjay, GloriaA). As some of you know, the headaches I have were caused by a brain injury I had some three years ago. For most of that time they have been chronic, at 4-5 times per week. After trying everything my neurologists could come up with (including Botox and Topomax and many more) I was entered into a NIH study using an experimental medicine. Although I had something of a relapse after we moved in June, the medicine is proving very effective and I am down to 2 or so migraines a week. This makes a HUGE difference in my quality of life, as the headaches are shorter and less intense as well, thank all heavenly beings.Still, a migraine is a migraine and while I feel better this morning I still have a 'hangover headache' and the shakes. Please excuse me if this is TMI, and thank you again for all of your kind thoughts.
I was disappointed at not being able tp write a complete recap. There was so much snarking to be done at the writers giving us a one-man Jose Luis repentance show. Is there anyone he did not apologize to?
Please enjoy your discussion today. I will pop in as I am able.
Kindest Regards to all,
Elna June
It is never, ever TMI when it is someone you care about. Sending you waves of support, concern and wrapping you in a cocoon of warmth and healing.
Diana
That wasn't TMI at all. I echo everything Diana said, and especially the cocoon of warmth and healing.
I’m so very glad you are feeling somewhat better today, even with a hangover headache. Again, I want to say what a great job you did in putting together your recap under the circumstances.
I was surprised to read you've tried some of the same medications lots of us with migraines have tried. I'm allergic to the sumatriptan (i.e., Imitrex) class of medicines and thus found it hard to find relief. You are so fortunate to have been able to enter an experimental treatment program.
Unfortunately for me and as I found out, migraines can and do cause strokes in a certain percentage of the population. As women are more likely to suffer migraines than men, and fair-skinned women much more likely than the total population, please take care and don’t discount their dangerousness.
I had no idea you were bedridden at all. I am so glad you found us here and that you enjoy this community, as much as we enjoy having you here. I always look forward to your comments and will keep you in my prayers.
Thank you for your kind words and prayers. Although I'm a lapsed Catholic (and by marriage at that), my faith in God has kept me together.
I have enjoyed the Caray, Caray family and each day find something in the comments to make me smile, laugh, or cry. I will miss blogging after the end of LQLVMR, but hope to pick up again with La Gata. I'll pass on La Malquerida.
I've found that watching novelas can transform one's world when, due to unfortunate circumstances, such a world is limited to four walls and windows.
Hopefully, LQLVMR will end on a joyous and romantic note.
NovelaMaven's praise of your recap was brilliant:
"It is amazing that, in spite of your pain, you pulled all this out of your very appropriately-sized hat -- a sharply-worded summary with just a little bit of bite" Thank you! I too was laughing at your description of Erik. There is just something about him that I couldn't describe and in one word you did. He does look like a "dolt" He just needs to let Esme grieve in peace, then slowly approach her as a friend and see what gives.
As for your title: "The Miraculous One-Day Redemption of Jose Luis Alvarez", yes it was an eye rolling moment, but at least he is on the right path again, and we don't have to put up with his whining anymore.
Lastly,NovelaMaven, you asked: "what if she is faking the onset of her symptoms, but not her illness?" Hey anything is possible with that woman, and at this moment I don't know what her end game is besides conning her way back into her kids' lives, but I'm so glad Rosie is on to her. She was neither sweating, nor mussed up in any way that would indicate her dragging herself to bed. xIntperuvian, great idea with the hot tea to unmask her!
Maricruz
One of the aspects of this blog I have always loved and keeps me reading and watching is the wonderfully diverse group of people who frequent this site. Victoria, my thoughts with you and know you are a treasure and so glad you are with us to make us smile and offer your thoughtful comments.
Carlos, don't feel bad about the "Carlos is always Right" tees. I would say maybe a modification? You could add "...99% of the time". Nobody's perfect. In fact, the creators of the infamous Lebron "Forgiveness" tees are right across the street from my my apartment. Maybe they can whip some new ones for you. And while we're add it, we can get one of those "Forgiveness" tees to a few of our AquaAzul folks.
Daisynjay
Daisy---LOL Does this town even have a mayor or police chief any A small thing that the writers overlooked?
Questions today---Pancho, from a gringo. Is that a real or made up name? I always thought it was Poncho with an o.
Madelaine---Yesterday you wrote
Gringo-yes, Angie was married to JL. She was Amelia's daughter and
Ginny's sister. I admit that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, kinda like Montse I guess
but I have never read in the blogs or heard in the novela anyone named Ginny. Who is Ginny?
Another question---I like Esmeralda. She is an independent free spirit, working mom and seems to be a good person trying to make it through life. What is her connection to JL? Friend, relative what?
OH No! Hit man Adolfo is going to marry Josefina tonight---disaster
for her. Somebody stop it please!
the gringo
Esme was married to Refugio who was JL's best friend. He always liked Esmerelda and the two were close.
Diana
That is my fervent wish as well. True love and romance which I feel should be the heart and soul of TNS, was largely absent here.
Like you, I have hope.
Diana
Xlntperuvian: you always crack me up--"They could all enjoy her miraculous recovery together. "
@EJ feel better soon. Migraines are horrible. JL redemption is too much too soon and I don't buy it. Angelica was the furthest thing from his mind for months.
Romy
Apologies about the nicknames. You know my recaps a nickname for everyone. I'm glad Diana filled in and gave you the correct info. I also wanted to add at one point in this TN, Refug and JL were on the run from the law and Esme hid them out and helped them get out of Aguazul, they go wayyyy back, they were sort of like the Three Muskateers for awhile.
The sweetest flashback that JL had about Angie, was when he met her for the first time, when she was drawing him and he didn't know and he came out of the water, nakkid as a jaybird and she called him handsome! I still laugh about that.
"Voy a matarte hoser, eh?
Yes, that hat of that man child Erik must be the same hat that Chico Marx used to wear.
But, but it wasn't that fast! He's always been this way, noble and honorable. Sure he had hissies like Ale did, but it took Romina being ill and Refug dying that finally turned him around. I'm buying his turning over a new leaf, he even told Ale the reason why Peddy is wanting Ale dead. That clinched it for me.
If it were only the avocados he could have had prosthetic implants and the only problem then would be sterility. He's already using some form of testosterone.
Prison now and lots of aggressive prisoners to see that he gets what's coming to him.
Oxnard Huero, your concept of Fofo in Canada is hilarious. Where do you come up with that stuff?
EJ, I'm glad you felt well enough to comment. Even though you wished you could do a complete recap I do think there is a lot to be said for bullet points. Or maybe we should call it EJ's Executive Summary. The concentrated recap did not seem to diminish the snark factor in our discussion at all.
You asked if Pancho is a real name. It is. It's a nickname for guys named Francisco. That's why Francisco Villa was also known as Pancho Villa. Another nickname for Francisco is "Paco".
Poncho with an "o" is a real name too but this one is a nickname for names that end with "-fonso", like Alfonso and Ildefonso.
Victoria,
up above your wrote, "I would have never guessed the those for Graciela and Rosario". In Spanish people sometimes turn "s" sounds into "ch" sounds when they want to sound cute or do baby-talk so that's how the "-ciela" and "-sario" parts of the names become Chela and Chayo nicknames. Think of how guys named Jesús are often called Chuy or Chucho.:-)
Your recap was precise and perfectly composed. My heart goes out to you and to all those who are forced to endure pain. I don't think I could be as brave as any one of you who may be experiencing it.
Whatever happened to the Mexican boyfriend that Virginia had met abroad? I thought they were supposed to be returning together.
I love the old JL character and my favorite of all was Angelica.
I am not optimistic about the staying power of JL at this point.
But it was a treat to see the pastiche of the two of them last night.
Creating the character of Pedro with his deformity and
rage and allowing him to dominate the novela for all these many months was a complete waste of time and talent and an insult to all viewers.
The whole thing about Esme & Refugio was another vacuous filler.
I really believe that the actors are very talented. I wish there could be some way that they would demand better writing from the producers....go on strike or something until the quality of these novelas can improve.
Appreciatively to you and to all commenters.
"Actually the phrase would be:
Je vais te tuer, hoser, bwhaaa.
Did you like that skit on SNL"?
The one with Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, the Great White North?
Yes, it was hilarious.
So Gracie is faking but what is her end game? She can't go on living and she will get tired of being paralyzed. So what is she going to do?
After seeing Adolfo in an all white suit in the previews he has to die in it. Blood spatter is to dramatic not too use.
Poor Josephina! Another disastrous wedding on the horizon. Lets hope the dress is at least nicer. I guess it would have to be:)
Carvivlie: "After seeing Adolfo in an all white suit in the previews he has to die in it. Blood spatter is to dramatic not too use. "--cracked me up. It's true, though.
the gringo
Personally, I would like a little more backstory on Gracie, especially her mom. Did she die before Gracie met Lauro, is she alive somewhere, did she know of her daughter's 2nd persona? And Pedro too, we never learned anything else about him and why he is such a nutcase!
Maricruz
I like Alex Sirvent; I like Otto Sirgo. I do not like having them shoehorned into a novela within a novela when we should be wrapping up our many current storylines.
I thank you so kindly for writing this summary recap. It was exactly what we needed. I do hope you are feeling better, and pray that your medications help with your migraines.
I knew that Gracie was faking but I wonder what her plan is. To get her children on her side, then miraculously be cured? WTH! I just hope that she doesn't plan on hurting Rosy now that she is suspicious. No spoiler here, but maybe Rosy will take it upon herself to get a second opinion on Gracie's tumor, then Gracie will be discovered.
I buy into JL's redemption. I didn't find him annoying or whiny last night, and that was a huge relief. But the strange thing is that the scenes with JL seemed to be scenes that you usually watch in like the second to last episode. Those scenes of forgiveness and goodbyes. So that part I did not like. Believe it or not, I would like to see JL watch his daughter grow up; at least for a while longer.
I like the actor that plays Erik, but I am not too fond of the character. I think he's too pushy with Esme, and I think the writers brought him into the story too late. I just wanted him to give Esme her space. She needs it right now.
Thanks again, Elna June!
back to work...hasta pronto!
