Good Afternoon Y'all;

I took my computer in to be repaired and it was a Trojan that got it. My friend was kind enough to let me borrow one of hers. I will get the recap up as soon as I can. In the meantime, please discuss : )
 

Greta is an antagonist in my opinion: acting like a typical dictator.


 

So sorry your computer gave out on you Madelaine. So typical of you that you have once again gone above and beyond in order to provide your recap. You are the best!

I will have to wait for your interpretation of the dinner events as I have such poor language skills. That said, I got the distinct impression that Alexa might have been the most (the only?) somewhat enthsiastic participant at the dinner.

Steve, you are right in that Greta is certainly exuding her power. But, I have to say, perhaps that is a blessing as she is right about Pato and hopefully her "reservations" will prod Sophia into honestly analyzing her feelings for him.

It appears that Sophia can hardly stand his kisses. I mean, has she given this the slightest thought as to how she will be able to bear a lifetime of them?

Oh, and I think that if there was any doubt Armando is under Alexa's spell, there is no doubt now.

Greta is right about Pato, but she's going about it the wrong way. The way she's doing it seems less like she's protecting Sofia, and more like she's trying to humiliate and belittle Sofia.

I was happy that Greta is insisting on a prenup with her closing "either you ask him to sign it or the lawyer will." I wanted to cheer! Someone has to wake Sofía up to her life. To me it seems that Sofía is somehow "sleepwalking" and is not too sure about anything: she has feelings for Chava and ends up getting engaged to Patricio with whom she is tepid at best; she does not like the change in public image for the company to be initiated by Alexa's ad campaign but allows herself to be talked into it. If the romance is on the up and up Patricio should have no problem signing the prenup. Can't wait to see his reaction! What I really can't wait to see is when everyone realizes that Greta was right about Patricio all along. Unfortunately i will be waiting a good long time for that.

I knew it: distasteful at best: Alexa and Armando mooning over each other. Yuk!

The other day, I spied a "La Abuelita" chocolate vending machine in a scene in the Ripoll employee lounge. Loved it!

Excellent Mads! Love how this recap just moved along quickly.

Irma is an idiot for ruining a hot intimate moment with Armie to pressure him to spend money they don't have. Even Nando knew the parents getting nookie was more important than getting comfort for the nightmare he had just had, told them to carry on, and went back to his own room. Priorities, Irma!

Lupe told Chava how years ago when he got badly injured as a boy, she hunted down Javier and got the medical care money from him, then for years after that she paid him back bit by bit (that's the money she had been giving him when he'd show up). She said this like this made Javier a not so bad person. In my mind, it makes him worse. Chava is HIS kid! It was his responsibility to care for him. He wasn't doing Lupe a favor, and it shouldn't have been a loan. He's worse than a deadbeat dad.
 

Madelaine - Terrific recap and pics. So sorry about your computer problems. You are a living doll to give us this pearl of a recap even with the Trojan.

I'm surprised Sofia didn't think of the prenup herself. As the head of the business and the family, it's only prudent. Why is Sofia marrying Pato? My guess is, she's never had a warm, fruitful relationship with a man and she figures she's just a cold fish and might as well take Pato cause he puts up with her chilliness. But, now that she's starting to feel warm toward Chava, she's slowly seeing she is capable of romantic love.

Pato is a smooth operator, so I'm thinking he will feign happiness at signing a prenup.

Loved Mattias and his dream. I cracked up when he was about to give the beautiful trophy presenter a beso and woke up instead almost kissing the male security guard.

Lupe means well telling Marisol the truth about her dad. But he's Marisol's dad, and deadbeat or not she's old enough to have the right to meet him.

I like that Dani is growing up and rejected Alexa's advice to learn the art of lying from her. Dani was the only one who was caring with Sofia's choice to marry Pato, if that will make her happy. Greta wants Sofia's happiness too but all she shows is anger. Alexa doesn't seem to care and to be so self-involved.
 

Madelaine, thank you for providing us with an excellent recap despite all of the difficulties you encountered. It is so apppreciated.

"I'm so not into you dude! Next!!!!" and "Pato and Sofia have a chat, he wants to know if Greta will ever like him. Doubtful, dude, doubtful!" were among my favorites.

The screen shots were great and I so enjoy the way you phrase things "Matthias says shut your mouth, well, not that, but the alcohol he smells went into that wonderful chocolate bon bons he just made". Such a pleasure to read.

I know Greta can be harsh and to the point, but I completely supported what she did last night - leaving the table and insisting on a prenup. Her intuition is spot as she is justified in her aversion to Pato. She is pretty shrewd in her assessments as to what is going on with Sophia and Dani and the loathsome losers in their lives (sorry Lucas has a lot to atone for). I only wish she had more insight regarding Alexa.

Jarifa, "tepid at best" does describe Sophia's feelings toward Pato (which I thought was mirrored by Dani's forced smile to the news). She seems to feel she always needs to do the right thing and she must feel the marriage is part of that process.

Vivi, I can't tell you how disgusted I was that Lupe had to pay Javier back for Chava's medical care. That said, I have to agree with Niecie that Marisol does have the right to meet her father. I don't know which would be worse - her unhappiness and disillusionment if he turns out to be the person we suspect or if he tries to "snow" her and pretend to be someone he isn't.

At this point, I don't think there is much substance to Armando and Alexa's flirtation. An attraction and a few vulnerable moments have been shared. They haven't known each other long enough to develop a friendship,let alone take the next step. Oh and of course, there is the little matter of his family.

I cringed at Irma turning what could have been a magical night into another unreasonable request for more creature comforts. I hope she realizes who she has before it is too late. Of course, Armando needs to realize what he has as well and stop the flirtation with Alexa.

I love Mattias. Where is he going to end up living? I am furious at Pato for so many things but depriving him of his well deserved promotion would be unforgiveable!

Madelaine, again, thank you for everything you do! This was great.

Did I see Chava lifting weights? He's going to have to lift a lot more if he plans on competing with Nandito! Have you seen Nandito's guns? That boy is a beast!

He's going to have to take his shirt off for a love scene eventually! Here's hoping that it won't be the day that I have to recap.

To answer your question from the other day, it is not that I dislike tango music. It is that song in particular that I don't like. Maybe I'll warm up to it - for example I disliked the La Gata theme song at first but I have warmed up to it and now I like it.

I'm disappointed the pics got approved. Armando should have been the model with Alexa and not that semi hairy chest prince of steroids.

Thank you most kindly. Yes, how would Sofia be able to put up with Pato, who she can barely stand now. That's the same thought I had. Alexa and Pato were the only happy ones at that table. Poor Fausto, Dani and Greta were less than enthused. I am with you about Irma. Will the woman ever stop? She does have such a good thing with Armie, if she would stop with all the ranting, I think he'd go home more often. I hope that Sofia promotes Matthias anyway. It's her company, she is married to Pato, so she ought to be able to promote him. Wouldn't it be something if Marisol becomes his new pupil? Just a guess. It would be a hoot.

You are so right about Greta, with Sofia thinking she's getting back at her. But Greta has been open about disliking him and how she feels Sofia is settling. I wonder if this is what happened with Greta. She settled for Ocatvio?

Irma reminds me of a gold digger and Alexa is like a child in a woman's body. She's like a little girl that never grew up. She acts as if Armie is a teenage crush. Yeah, that little racing machine, lol. It's almost like one of those Xbox thingys.
 

I was hoping Sofia's character would be strong and independent, but she is anything but that. She is too easily swayed to do what others want instead of following her own intuition. For Pete's sake, she is marrying a man who practically repulses her!

As for Silvana, she is a woman who gets by on her looks and uses her power as a woman to seduce to get where she is going. She objectifies herself and yet believes she deserves to be in Sofia's shoes. This is all too common and all too real.

Greta has so many of her own issues to deal with, such as admitting to her affair from many years ago. She has no right to steer her daughters in the "right" direction until she can get her own priorities straight.

Armando needs to leave Irma like yesterday. Then he can go ahead and say "Alexa" as much as his heart desires. Until he takes the necessary steps to do what is right, I will view him as an emotionally cheating pig .... albeit a very handsome one.

It will probably be a while. As it is she can't see the forest through the trees, Pato is so oily and slimey I was hoping she would see through him by now, as in why is he pushing for this marriage so much? It isn't have if they spend a lot of time together as it is, and she rebuffs him every chance she gets, hmmmmmm.....

Thank you kindly. I too wonder why Sofia wants to marry Pato? I hope she changes her mind, really quickly and rebuffs him. I too want to see exactly how Pato handles this prenup bidnez. I'm surprised that Sofia didn't think of the pre nup either. But then again, Pato hasn't shown his true colors. I'm hoping she gets a glimpse soon.

I too liked that little scene of Mattias waking up and almost kissing the security guard.

I'm worried though that if Marisol meets her deadbeat Dad, he'll twist his version of the truth and Poor Marisol will be giving him money too.

I do like what Dani said to Alexa. I really liked the talk that Sofia and Dani had a couple episodes back. It was so sweet. Alexa is all about herself.

I get what you mean about the pictures, that guy wasn't all that, I have to say. Armie would have been much better, but I can imagine what Irma would have said, blown a gasket. Until he got paid for the pictures. Then maybe she would have been okay with them. hmmmmm........

Greta didn't have an affair. She and Paco were together before she married. Once she married she gave Paco up. He hated Greta for marrying Octavio and She stayed away from him. They haven't spoken since she married. I think maybe Greta is trying to save Sofia from what happened to her, settling that is.

As far as Armie. He hasn't cheated on Irma, but Irma has cheated on him. Nando is not Armie's son. He has no idea. Yes, he should leave Irma, but then he loses access to Nando.

As far as Sofia goes, she hasn't seem the rotten side of Pato, and until she gets a glimpse of it she'll still think he's her knight in shining armour. She is dense, but I have hope for her.

Silvana, is nobody's friend, but to herself. She does think it's the only way she'll get anywhere. If she thinks that Pato will keep her along for the ride if he manages to steal Ripoll, she has another thing coming. Pato is a user and she'll have a rude awakening. Silvana is reminding me of Rebecca from Por Ella Soy Eva.

Instead of Fernando not being the bio-dad, maybe Irma just isn't sure about it. All we know is her impacto look when Fernando said that they moved in together because she got pregnant. Maybe they had a no-commitment relationship before that and Irma had another boyfriend as well. I'm not sure if Irma was a cheater, maybe she was just a little loose with the truth. I’m not a fan or Irma’s or Alexa’s. Both women play fast and loose with the truth.

That's true we don't know for sure about who Nando's Papa is. They aren't married as far as I know. Her last name is different from his. It's very true about Irma and Alexa. I still wonder who this Alan is and why he is always calling Alexa for money. I wonder if he is a male version of Irma, a gold digger, hmmmm........

I feel foolish. I thought Greta was seeing both Paco and the man she was to marry at the same time. I need to read the captions better.

As for Greta, she does not treat her daughters equally. She allows Alexa to get by with far too much, and spoils her money.

Armando cheats emotionally. Irma may have cheated on him, but two wrongs do not make a right. Armando needs to man up and stop fantasizing about another woman while he is still jumping in bed with Irma.

Alexa is a mess. She is rude, spoiled, entitled, and obnoxious. I personally love the actress who plays her but the character is difficult to tolerate.

You are also right about Greta, she treats Alexa like a spoiled litte princess and lowers the hammer on Sofia and Dani. I think it's a shame especially about Sofia. Dani should be punished but I think Greta went too far with her.

I am watching it right now and......oh dear.....or should I say CARAY CARAY? ;) There is no excuse for how harsh Greta seems to be towards the two daughters. Although, I will agree with what you said 100% in terms of Dani needing to face the consequences of her actions.
