Hasta el Fin del Mundo #32 20140930 Who's Your Daddy NOW, Sophia?

RIPOLL:  Now in police custody, Chava tells his sobbing sister not to be afraid and asks Matias to take care of her and his mother.  After the cruiser leaves the curb, Marisol collapses at the gate.  Both Lucas and Matias kneel to comfort her, but Matias shoves Lucas away and continues to comfort her by himself.

While everyone is outside, in Silvanna's office, Patrick and Silvanna celebrate his success in setting up Chava by making out.

A while later, Patrick returns to Silvanna's office with the DNA results.  It's official!  Sophia did not spew forth from the loins of Octavio.  Patrick laughs maniacally.  Silvanna congratulates him for having Greta in the palm of his hand.

SNOB HILL:  Alexa informs Alan that she is going to tell Greta the truth.  Alan tells Alexa that the mob has found him.  She and her family are in danger unless they come up with some greenback. Greta interrupts the conversation when she barges in with the script.  She encourages Alexa to study for the roll.  Greta compliments her daughter for having a brilliant man by her side and says that Alexa is blessed to have someone who loves her.  Alan says that he will make Alexa some dinner later.  Alexa flees from the room.

In the servant's quarters, Fausto has agreed to let Armando off for the rest of the afternoon so that he can sign the documents to sell the house.  Fausto appreciates Armando for being a calming influence on Alexa.  He compares Armando to a bullfighter who hypnotizes the bull.  Armando gets a call from Matias informing him that Chava is in the clink.

Later on, Greta tries running lines with Alexa.  Suddenly, Greta realizes that the script isn't Luc Besson's style.  Alexa tries telling Greta the truth, but Greta misunderstands.  She thinks that Alexa is talking about Alondra, the character in the script.  Greta says that the character Alondra has lied so much that no one believes anything that she has to say.  Allan's words about the mob come into Alexa's mind.  Alexa says that she isn't in the mood anymore and runs out of the room.  Alexa visits Dani for a little while in her bedroom.  Dani wishes that she was and adult and Alexa wishes that she was a teenager again.

Allan has placed one of Greta's sculptures at the dinner table.  He blows smoke up her behind about its beauty.  Greta eats it up.  Greta is worried that Alexa is insecure about playing the Alondra roll.  After dinner Allan and Greta get drunk and Greta tells Allan to take some wine up to Alexa's room.  Loosen her up so that she will like the script.

Allan is lying on Alexa's bed when she enters.  She tells him to leave, but he tells her that her mother sent him to get her drunk.  Ever since Greta found out that he is "royalty", she is willing to pimp her daughter out.   Alexa pretends to drink with him until he passes out.

POLICE DEPARTMENT:  Chava tells Chief Fuzzy Tavares that he believes he was set up by one of two people.  The obvious one is Lucas, but he doesn't reveal his thoughts about Patrick.  He says that he will wait until Sophie returns.  Fuzzy tells him to get a lawyer.

A while later, Lupe creates a scene when she demands to see Chava.  Fuzzy threatens to arrest her if she doesn't calm down.  He tells her she can see Chava tomorrow if she comes back with a better attitude.  Marisol begs her mother to shut up and pulls her out of the door.  Fuzzy chuckles when he is alone.  He likes feisty women.

Down in the jail cell, Armando tells Chava that he believes that Patricio set him up.  Chava says that he can't accuse Patricio because he is Sophie's boyfriend.  She would have to choose between Chava and Patricio.  If she believes Patrick, Chava promises to hunt him down and beat him up.  His strategy is to wait for Sophie because "she will believe him".  Armando encourages him to come up with a better strategy.  Perhaps they can call Aracely because she is an attorney.  Chava refuses.

Lucas visits Salvador and swears on his gramma that she didn't set Chava up.  He says that Fuzzy confronted him about it, so he came to let Chava look him in the eye.  Chava believes him.

BRAZIL:  Sophie calls Greta and tells her to make sure that Chava is waiting at the airport at 8:00 am tomorrow.  Greta tells Sophie that she has given Daniella permission to work at the factory.  Later, Greta tells Fausto to call Chava and let him know.  Fausto says that Sophie is a workaholic, just like her father, Octavio.  Greta will have dinner with Isadora tomorrow night.

CASA DE ARMANDO AND IRMA:  Armando and Irma are packing.  Armando feels guilty about packing while his best friend is in the clink.  He also doesn't want to move in with Paco because he's sick and he's grumpy.  Armando says that they will help Chava with his defense with part of the proceeds from the sale of their home.  She reluctantly agrees.  They kiss.

CASA de PACO:  Speaking of the downer.  Marisol complains to Paco that Fuzzy wouldn't let her see Chava.  Paco says that he warned Chava that the Ripolls were trouble.  He reiterates the warning to Marisol.  Marisol wants to know why Paco hates the Ripolls' guts.  Lupe tells her not to go there.  Paco ignores the question and goes to bed.

REHAB:  Silvanna is playing chess with her brother.  He wants to help her take down the Ripolls, but she says that she can't use a meth head right now.  She tells him that Patrick is helping her, but Patrick doesn't know that he is being used.  Patrick wants to bankrupt the Ripolls has well.  She may keep Patrick as a trophy once the Ripolls are destroyed.

THE NEXT DAY:

POLICE DEPARTMENT:  Lupe visits Chava.  She bought him some donuts (tacos) and clothes, Fuzzy confiscated the donuts in order to inspect them.  Chava tells her Sophia will believe him; he won't need a lawyer.  If she doesn't, he will no longer believe in "love" oops...human kind.

Later, Fuzzy comes in and tells Chava to make sure that he told his crazy mother that the police turned over the donuts (less one or two).  Chava offers to share some more with them.  Fuzzy offers to put them in the microwave.  Fuzzy tells Chava that Sophia hasn't called yet.  Chava looks worried.

SNOB HILL:  Allan is passed out on the floor.  Alexa tells Fausto to get some guys and move him out of her room before her mother gets up.

CASA DE PACO:  Aracely enters.  Paco thinks he has an intruder and almost hits her with a pan.  Aracely says that she came home because she loves him and he needs someone to take care of him.  Paco SMILES.  Aracely cooks breakfast for Paco.  Paco tells Aracely that Chava is in jail.

RIPOLL:  Sophia takes a taxi to Ripoll.  Dani is waiting in Sofia's office.  She's wearing a big hat and dark sunglasses.  Sophia removes them.  Dani will only work there if no one is allowed to refer to her by her last name.  She doesn't want any special treatment simply because she owns the place.  Sofia agrees. Silvanna enters and Sophia instructs her about the conditions of Dani's employment.  Dani runs off to look at her desk.  Silvanna tells Sophie that Patrick had Chava arrested for theft.  Silvanna says that she tried to defend Chava, but Patrick insisted.  She wants Sofie to fight with Patrick so that he will come running to her.   Sophia confronts Patrick.  He tells her that Chava may have set up the kidnapping attempt.  Matias told him that Chava was a womanizer.  Chava will use the money for his race car and wild women.

I've had a bad day. This is not edited or funny. Next time I will do better.

I missed the last part, but based on the first part, I am confident that I'm caught up on all material points.

I'm not sure what more you were expecting, but it seems like a solid recap to me. Unedited, maybe, but unfunny, no, except insofar as this was a somewhat grim episode in the first place. Thank you.

So cops and donuty-type things is international. Figures.

Just as well you weren't trying for comedy during the rehab scene. Between that, Armando selling out, Chava in jail, and the intimations of the mob closing in on Allan, our apparent romantic comedy is taking a decided turn toward the dark side. Still with a sabotaged race car and quasi-fake kidnapping in the opening days, I guess I can't say we weren't warned.

Improbable that Greta would be perceptive enough to have a feel for Luc Besson's style and not stop in wonder that the famed DIRECTOR is supposedly sending a script for Allan to make? Or is Besson supposed to be acting as producer for someone else' script? Odd.

I never should've checked the blog when a wrong number woke me at 3 am... darn smartphones: too much integrated communications convenience for my own good. It's going to be a rough morning in a couple hours.

Cynderella, no worries about the recap: it is excellent! "Chief Fuzzy Tavares" ? That was funny. Another good one "Paco SMILES". The best was Greta "willing to pimp her daughter out." So true. Here is to a better day!

I have to appreciate the old cross and double cross with Silvana and her hidden plan to make Greta pay for her mother's death and just maybe keeping Patricio around as a trophy. It was good to see that Patricio had the results of the DNA test already and from the promos it looks like he will lose no time in starting his blackmail plan. That is one thing I am enjoying about this novela is that the plot just keeps plowing on ahead.

It is not hard seeing who Alexa got her ability to sling the bull from: her mother. Greta is so full of it. So she did get the dinner invite from Isadora and now she is wondering about who Isadora's attendant is since she seemed odd and was watching over Isadora. As if she doesn't have enough drama in her own life, Greta is off looking for more. Too bad Fausto is refusing to go with her. I wonder if she will have any energy to look for that extra intrigue, when Patricio lays the DNA truth on her.

Alexa is more tedious than ever bawling all the time but taking no action. I just don't get her twisted logic in not telling Greta the truth if supposedly the whole family is at risk from the mysterious mafioso.

My favorite part was Tavares appreciating Lupe's feistiness. Now that would be an interesting combo!

Was it not convenient for Aracely to arrive on the scene now with her being a lawyer and all even though Chava has made it clear he does not want her help when Armando suggested it?

Looks like it will be Sofía coming to the rescue for now.

Cynderella, I'm sorry you had a bad day and hope things turn around quickly.

Not funny? Well I couldn't convince my face as I broke into an instant smile when reading "Who's Your Daddy NOW, Sophia".

Like Jarifa, my favorite line was "Ever since Greta found out that he is "royalty", she is willing to pimp her daughter out". Excellent.

You related all of the events so well, thought it was great, beginning to end.

Greta has lost whatever "little grey cells" she had earlier on. She knew Pato was a cunning liar and cheat but now is fooled by Alan's fussing, blustering and oh so obvious flattery "He blows smoke up her behind about its beauty". Come on.

I sense that Greta will snap out of her partial coma once Pato contfronts her about Sophia. Will she be able to think quickly on her feet and come up with a worthy retort or will she succumb to his blackmail? While I don't have much faith in her, I do in Fausto so let's hope she tells him. And quickly.

I mistakenly thought Sil's brother was traumatized by what happened to their mother but was a good person. Now we see that he is not.

Although Silvanna believes she is a master manipulator (and to a degree she is), let's not lose sight of the fact that she probably could come up with a successful revenge scheme all her own. She may be using Pato, but he is also using her.

So Dani will have an office? I'm curious what a teenage girl with no skills or experience will do there...I've been working for 40 plus years and I have no doubt she already has a better job than I. :)

I also liked Tavares' appreciation of Lupe. If Paco continues to be blind to her charms and warmth, I'm all for the commandante to scoop her up.

As you noted Chris, this certainly wasn't a fun filled episode and very little seems to be going well. Let's hope that changes when Sophia returns. Looks like a little jealousy may be on tap.

Cynderella, I really enjoyed this. Thanks so much.

Aaawww, Cynderalla, I'm sorry you had a bad day. Please do not think for even a minute that your recap is subpar. Being funny or editing are just bonuses. I'm just happy that you take your own time every week to do this for us!

Thanks!

Plus, I love "Fuzzy" Tavares! That was great!

Cynderella – Sorry you’re having a bad day. Your recap certainly helped lift my mood. Superb title. Love “Chief Fuzzy.” My favorite: "Allan has placed one of Greta's sculptures at the dinner table. He blows smoke up her behind about its beauty. Greta eats it up." -- Ouch!

Chief Fuzzy Tavares and Lupe sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g. Lupe, forget sourpuss Paco. Chief Fuzzy will be much more fun for you.

I’ve been thinking Alexa’s anxiety had to do with the pressures of her childhood Ripoll stardom vanishing with adulthood. But now I’m thinking Greta is actually a big part of that. Her snobbishness and elitism may be why Alex feels she’s got to be “Somebody” and hence all the lies.

I’m so ticked with Greta for letting shorty pants dupe her that I don’t even mind Pato blackmailing her dumba$$. But still I can’t imagine her getting Sofia to sell Ripoll.

I too loved it when Silvana dissed Pato to Sofia about Chava’s arrest. The trouble is, despite herself, Silvana has really got a thing for Pato while he would throw her over in a New York minute.

Even though Silvana's brother is a recovering meth head, I can see where his drug problem could've been rooted in the violent death of his mother. He might not be so bad.

Cyn- I could not tell at all that you had a bad day, from that great recap. I hope today is much better for you!

So Pato has had a few wins now. I'm sure he's being really smug about it. Time for him to be knocked down a few pegs. Sofia better totally dismiss those charges against Chava and not fall for Pato's lies.

I saw from a clip that Aracely is being played by Ximena Herrera (El Senor de los Cielos). Is Aracely married or not? I thought she had a hubby. Will she be competition for Sofia, especially if she has to defend Chava in court against Ripoll accusations? I'm just glad someone can make Paco smile. :)

One more thing. It sounded like Alexa asked Fausto to collect Alan and his stuff and toss them out of the mansion. I hope that's right.

Cynderella, I didn't get to see this last night because of TV reception problems so I really appreciate your recap. It was great!

Something I am curious about: Does anyone know if you have to have permission to get a DNA test done on samples that are not your own? I have had DNA done on my horses to verify parentage (most horse registries require this now) but to get the test I had to pay the registry and *they* had to request the test. The lab ran the DNA tests, then compared them to the DNA tests of the sire and dam of the horse. Then the results were sent to the registry and I got a copy of the results from them. In other words, there was always a middle man to verify the results. Patricio's problem is going to be in the verification. If she is smart, Greta can always say that the DNA Patricio used was taken from someone other than Octavio. He has no way to verify it was Octavio's DNA unless he confesses he opened the grave without permission, which I would think would be a crime.

Let me get this straight, Aracely is Paco's daughter?
