Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #50 10/24/14
Hola everyone! We had lots of wind and rain last night and my TV reception was terrible. I only got to see a few minutes of the show before we lost it completely. This will be a bare bones recap of what I was able to see. I will try to fill in later after I get a chance to go online and watch what I missed.
Old:
Manjarres offers Lucas a chance to work with him again to make lots of money. He claims it's legit, but Lucas ain't biting.
Dani cries over Lucas yet again.
New:
Paco and Araceli fight over the lawsuit. He doesn't understand why she would sue the Ripolls without his say-so. She doesn't understand why he is defending Sofia Ripoll and attacking his own daughter. Araceli says she just talked to Sofia. No lawsuit hasn't been filed. But... he might want to give it some thought.
Pato has taken Silvana's advice to be edgy and spontaneous. He offers Sofia a walk on the wild side! How about an Australian honeymoon! Or maybe they should go to Vegas and get married by an Elvis impersonator!
Chava and Armie talk about what happened (or didn't happen) with Araceli. Chava thinks Araceli would make a wonderful wife - for someone else. He still wants Sofia and he's going to keep trying but realizes that Sofia will make the final decision. He just wants her to be happy. Armie remembers the big kiss with Alexa at the airport. Back at the mansion, Alexa is remembering the same thing. While she's remembering, she sees her door handle moving slowly. Someone is trying to sneak into her bedroom! She thinks it might be Alan. She grabs a piece of ugly art and waits behind the door. The door opens slowly and Alexa nearly smashes Dani who has come into to whine about Lucas. Alexa lets her crying sister sleep in her bed.
Next morning at the factory Pato and Sofia talk about the lawsuit. Sofia thinks Octavio was a saint and never did anything wrong.
Fausto and Greta talk about Alan. Fausto thinks the guy was kind of a cockroach. Greta is shocked that Fausto has such a low opinion of that wonderful, talented and charming gentleman.
Chava tells Araceli he ain't interested. They are just good friends.
Alan shows up at the Ripoll house. He orders Aurora to go get Alexa. When she comes in he tells the maid to get lost and starts to rough Alexa up. Greta hears the screaming and tries to pull him off. The maids hide in the kitchen and watch through the door crack. See Greta, when you treat your help like crap they don't come running to your rescue! Armie sees what's going on and runs to help. He finally gets to give Alan a hard punch in the face.
Sofia tells Silvana about Pato's unusual honeymoon plans. Pato is surprising her, they might finally be really connecting.
Matias brings Pato a report and Pato tells him that he finally managed to get Silvana off his back. Matias tells Pato he's full of crap. He knows Pato is still stringing Silvana along. But one of these days Pato will get what's coming to him. Karma is a bitch and it's headed Pato's way.
Marisol, Dani and Lucas argue about the same old crap.
Greta tells Fausto to make sure Alan never sets foot in the house again. Fausto assures her he will make sure that the security guards know. In the meantime, Armie escorts (pushes and drags) Alan to the gates of the property. Armie and the security guard toss his butt out on the street. But just like skunk odor, Alan swears they'll never get rid of him.

The article says that after rumors of his departure, it has been confirmed that Pedro will be leaving the telenovela. It says it's because his wife and daughters are jealous of his love scene with Marjorie de Sousa. The producers are going to say who will replace him next week.

Wow. If it's in People mag, I'm more inclined to believe it. I know in Dinero Pedro's kisses also became anemic after his wife could deal, but he stayed with the tn. We're there no kisses with Maite in that last one he did where his spirit was in the wrong body? Or maybe his wife didn't see young Maite as a threat. It's just ridiculous. Maybe it's time for Pedro to give up on this relatively new career as a tn star and just go back to music, or find a new wife.

The main action you missed later was:
1) After Alan outs her, Alexa comes clean to Greta that everything about her acting career was a lie. As usual, Greta lets her off the hook, and blames Octavio for deciding what careers his two oldest daughters would have, thereby ruining their lives--Sofia the biz administrator, and Alexa the actress. Greta promises to keep the secret from Sofia and Dani, then suggests Alexa find a new purpose, like finding a rich man to marry. I'm not kidding. Alexa and Armie take the symbols of her movie star ambitions and leave them out at an acting school for anyone to take.
2) The story about the stolen chocolate recipes hits the presses. Sofia loses it and accuses Paco and Araceli to Chava. He defends them and lets slip that he knew about Paco's story quite a while now. She accuses Chava of being a traitor for keeping this from her. Chava goes and accuses Araceli. She vehemently denies. Paco comes home and accuses her. That really ticks her off. She goes to the factory to deny it to Sofia's face and ! have tries to stop her. Meanwhile, Pato is trying to convince Sofia that Chava must be the enemy within and that his whole entrance into Ripoll was part of the plot.

My opinion on the whole Pedro Fernández replacement rumor is what Diana said yesterday ". . .if you can't act/become the character then maybe you should just stick to singing."
In the realm of professional acting the whole jealousy/kiss thing just seems silly. It sounds like a publicity stunt that someone would have come up with in the 1950's.
I dislike so many of the characters now, that I am only watching with one eye so to speak. If they replace Fernández that might just be the the impetus to stop watching this tripe period. If they replace him because he wants out for this lame reason then they obviously miscast him or asked the wrong questions when they did cast him. Do they not have more respect for their viewers/fans?
Anyway, last night for me the highlight was Alan getting bloodied up and thrown off the prooerty. Greta was so ineffectual trying to save Alexa. Like she could not grab something and hit him in the head with it? Better yet, why didn't Alexa go for where she really coulld have hurt him?
At least Greta did state she readily believed Alexa's fantasies because it was easier for her.
Areceli needs to stick a sock in it already as well as Lucas.
Cynderella, maybe they had round trip tickets so that they could come back to Mexico and try to swindle more money from Greta whenever they needed to.

It seems like the tn is too far along for them to replace Pedro. What capitulo are they at in Mexico? It would just be silly. His wife needs to suck it up and deal with it. Of course, they've also been married 26 years, and most music/tv/movie stars can't say that. So maybe Pedro just needs to keep doing what he's been doing to keep his wife happy these last 26 years, and put his marriage first.
With Patrick and Silvana plotting more sinister stuff against Chava, don't be shocked if Chava gets in a bad automobile accident.
Remember, in a previous TN, Edith Gonzalez's character was injured in a horrible house fire set by her crazy aunt and months later, Ana Patricia Rojo took over the lead character.

Vivi, I do NOT believe the rumors of Pedro leaving. They're way too far deep in the Telenovela at this point.

Alicia- Yeah. The more I think about how far along the are in Mexico, the more I'm inclined to believe that there is no way they can replace Pedro this late in the game.
Thanks for the recap Vivi. I was afraid of Pedro leaving the show, but now I guess it's confirmed. I really hope that he'll reconsider.... it's kind of strange when they replace the main character in a novela. In Locura de Amor, when the main character left, the remainder of the novela was a disaster. Luckily it hasn't gotten too far yet.

Let's hope we see some of the fire Chava has exhibited toward Pato. Deep down he knows Pato is rotten to the core. Now he needs to go and prove it.

Speaking of Marisol, Steve do you really see her as an antagonist? Yes, she has been open in coveting Lucas (heaven knows why), and she has tried to get his attention repeatedly despite his assertions he has a girl friend. Err, had a girlfriend, but I haven't seen anything to warrant being in Pato, Renzi and Silv's company. Perhaps you know something I don't :)
When an average looking actor without immediately apparant charm and charisma is given a lead role, they must project earnestness, honesty, humor and sweetness. While Pedro has done a realatively good job in these regards, his passionless, robotic romantic performance has left me cold. If we do not believe he cares about Sophia with equal parts love and lust, the character is doomed.
If he does leave, I wish he and his wife many more happy years together and hope he never rues leaving a role that many others would kill for (so to speak) as I suspect this will be his last.
I don't care for Zepada but I think they are somewhat similar physically, but believe Zepada will bring the romantic emotion so lacking here. And, he can rumble with the best of them. In the end, I think it might help the storyline.
As long as Matias doesn't leave, I guess I really don't care.

Chava bores me because I think I'm more attracted to Sophie than he is and I'm straight! I hope he goes. Not because of his looks, but because I have to believe the galan is attracted to the female. And because David Zepeda is not afraid to show his physique. He'll kiss her...well!
Steve, Araceli is nuts and a bad girlfriend. She dumped Chava for another man and now she's "raped" Chava. She knew he was unconscience. Ew and he was all sweaty!
Poor Chava doesn't know if she used a condom. Does she have fungus of the gungus? Was she trying to get knocked up? What kind of sicko jumps on a defenseless person?
Hold the presses! I found another article that says two actors are under consideration to replace Pedro. We're already heard about Zepeda, the other is Eduardo Yanez. There is supposed to be an announcement on Monday. Here's a link to the article:

Ugh i hate Pedro leaving,i first disliked him but i really began to like him sooner or later because he is so Charming! If they really consider replacing him they should put Zepeda ,not Yanez ugh.Yanez does not fit in this story,at all.. I wonder how will they make up for Chava's sudden transformation into a completely different looking person(actor).They will have to make some accident for him in which he loses his face and voice completely or he goes to take some sort of surgery.I think it will be the first one.. It would not be troublesome for him to survive an accident since when Ale came back from the 7 year coma,he was already exercizing !

Also do they ever completely remake an intro ,from scratch? At best they only just put new names when new characters arrive, to the cast but i have never seen a novela in which the intro was redone before .

Araceli will probably get nastier when she begins to drill on Paco's past life more and suddenly realizes that she has the supposed blood ties with Sofia. Up until now she was just being nosy but other then that,she was not really evil.

It airs on November the 10th in Mexico starring Alexis Ayala,Thelma Madrigal as the antangoists and the actors who potrayed Esteban and Aranza ( From Por Siempre Mi Amor) as the main protangoists. It also stars Susana Gonzales :) I cannot resist Mr.Ayala so i will happily watch it 😈

Depends on what evil she comes up with. So far she's been pretty tame. Rape is bad, but it's pretty tame in a TN.
Yeah,it would be so funny if Chava did the "transformation" on purpose, It would make sense so he has a better shot with Sophia and get back at Pato and Renzi.Perhaps he and Tavares come up with the idea.That would be very good and appealing for me.I do not want the typical "Oh i ,uhm survived some accident that was supposed to kill me ,now look at me i am so different,i sound different but i cannot remember shit!" .I want it to be a strategic move not something that is pulled out of nowhere for no reason.

Zoey_ I thought I was the only one finding the love scenes between the lead couple so lame.If Pedro can't give us some passionate love scenes with sofia then he needs to go. Zepeda will definately do the job well but the switch will totally throw of the momentum of the TN.

If the do the switch the way i said ,it should be fine.If Eddy replaces him i will certaintly quit watching ..Also i do not want the switch to be a part of some obnoxious accident,i want it to be a part of an investigative strategy to investigate on the Mafia.I think they will do the swap when he begins connecting the dots together.Atleast they should make it so that the swap makes sense plot wise otherwise it will make for a massive plot hole in the story..

I already explained how i would handle Pedros absence and his subquent replacement.My idea would be that he goes into some kind of surgery,volunterly for some reason either because he at that point of the story wants to find dirt on Pato to save his hometown from the Mafia or because he would have a better chance at winning his career back.Of course there would come parts in which he begins to doubt his decision,wants to get back to his former body and all that stuff but he would be able to spy on Patrick and Renzi more to see what are they up to and put a stop to them.

Hmm that could work too.Telemundo was doing this too with La Otra Piel in which the soul swap was the main part of the story .But if they decide to introduce that plot point ,they will have to invent some new characters that are a part of Mr.Zepeda and that could be cluttering .Hopefully they do not introduce a crazy wife or something..You should pray to the Heavens and Madre Gracie that Mr.Zepeda's character is single in this story which i doubt..
Novelas y Series just reported an hour ago that Pedro is leaving and Zepada is replacing him.
I do not know if this is speculation, or fact, but am passing it along.

Why can't they just keep it simple. Just tell us Pedro left the show and the roll of "Chava" will now be played by Zeppie, the stud. Zeppie just shows up. I'm cool with that since we know the change is coming.
Was watching a bit of Despierta America this morning and the story is Pedro is leaving and being replaced by Zepeda. They spoke to Marjorie who says she is nervous about it and Pedro is surprised by the variety of good/mean fan comments he's receiving especially considering they don't know the real reasons for his exit.

Just read another article on a radio interview with Pedro Fernandez in which he states that he's leaving for health reasons and he's sad that fans are commenting and "disrespecting his wife and daughters" over something that they (the fans) aren't aware of, that his wife's supposed jealousy has nothing to do with his leaving.

Anon @ 1:33 - Thanks for sharing. I hope Pedro is okay, but his leaving for health reasons is more believable than because his wife and daughters don't like him doing love scenes. He's been in showbiz a long time, and surely his family is adept by now at dealing with hyper-groupies. Doing a TN on a closed set with the whole crew present for a scene is a lot less risky for something frisky to happen than when he's on tour.

How many more episodes will we have with Pedro in the Chava role? I don't like Zepada as much, since his acting is very wooden.

Well they will probably need to film more scenes to explain the absense of the usual "Salvador" ,so the viewers are satisfied.If they do not do that,they are officialy in the Ruina and i will never watch a novela from Nicandro Diaz again,Ever!

After a half century of telenovelas, the writers room probably has a bookshelf of binders on how to accomplish this.
I like David, and if it's not too stupidly done, I'll probably get used to it. I really loved La Fuerza del Destino, including the Álamos, Sonora, setting.
If it's true Pedro's health is poor, I am really sorry to hear that. To me, he looked healthy and not underweight. He's not a huge guy; he's in good shape, though. I came to think he's really appealing, and that can only be from the force of his acting.
So I would be more than happy for this to be a telenovela dream I'm going to wake up from. I really wanted to see how this shook out.
I was liking Salvador so much, I was interested in seeing his other telenovelas. It's really too bad.

Gobluefan, you watch telenovelas for the acting? Who does that? I watch them for the times when the men "act" like their hot and have to take off their shirts. Or when they "act" like their taking a shower and must remove their clothes. ;^ )
Sorry to see Pedro go. But on the plus side, maybe in the actor/story shift Matias will get a bigger role.

Yes, but some can't "act" like they're acting, LOL. I don't like David Zepeda either, but given a choice, I'd much rather see HIM shirtless than pasty/flabby Pedro Fernandez.

I am sorry to hear that Pedro Fernández has to quit because of health problems. That is sad. Anyway, I will be very curious how they do the Chava handoff. Hey, tonight I will have dinner with Jorge Salinas (MCET) and dessert with Jaime Camil (Jane the Virgin): not a bad evening!

Anon 3:28, I barely understand what they're saying and I don't really care. Zepeda "acts" great when his clothes are off. Most of his most memorable scenes come to my mind.
1. In Abismo de Pasion, after Damian (his character) made love to Elisa, Damian left her and walked along the beach wearing only his underwear. His muscles glistening in the moonlight.
2. The yellow underwear fight scene between Bruno (Z) and Alex.
3. Mentir para Vivir- his clothes fell off whenever the female lead was near him. He should have gotten an Oscar for that outstanding performance.
4. I can't leave out the incredible shirtless arm wrestling scene in the opening credits of Animal design Passion!
