Mi Corazon es Tuyo #55, Two Offers Made, Two Offers Accepted

We start where we left off yesterday with Bunny, (I like this nickname since we don’t know her name yet, thanks to whoever came up with it) making a motion to can poor Fernando. Who’s up for this motion? Vote? The other directors sit nervously playing with their pencils, (snicker, snicker), awkward!  Ah, a name. Senora Linda Olalde. Fer says that he’s known her objections of him for a looong time. He knows that all the things that she dislikes in him as a CEO has also paid off handsomely for her in making her over $100 million, but she whines that it could have been $200 million by now. You are going down Fernando, and I will see to it. Not until you have proof of my failings, sweetheart, until then, I’m going home. Child's play!  Fer closes the meeting and says adieu. Bunny Olalde snaps her pencil in frustration.

Jonny is strolling in the mansion gardens with Ana discussing, well, not sure since I always fast forward through his scenes, but Ana is giving him a pep talk and they do some tai chi calming exercises and try to only think good thoughts.

Fer, Fan and Enrique walk into his office. Fanny is in shock at Bunny and her business.
Fer tells her that he’s totally used to this and not to worry. Bunny owns 25% of the shares, she can’t do anything. Enrique want’s to have a talk with Bunny, oh no! but Fer says to stay out, it’s his problem.

Alicia comes out of the dressing room with a pink dress for her Quince and Isa and Briana say how beautiful it is, also showing off her shoes. She asks if Gustavo would like it, uh oh! and she fills Isabela in on who Gus is. They leave to change and Isa tells the camera what a ridiculous girl she is. Isabela will make a great mother, no?

Xi is still suffering from her bipolar episode and Nando tries to talk with her but she just yells at him to leave. Uh oh, Nando.

Fernando arrives home with a gift of a baby outfit for Isabela in order to make nice nice with her. She looks at the label and they argue about the importance of the label. Isa informs him that labels are the most important part of any clothing, Fer wonders what he married. She leaves to show YoMama the outfit, and Fer proceeds to have the conversation he wished he had with her when he came home. How was your day, etc...

Diego and Ana are on the phone, Diego tells Ana to meet outside her house in one hour for a surprise, we already know what it is from yesterday’s avances, but Ana doesn’t know yet. Diego goes to get a tequila first.

Ana has all the children in one room to announce that she won’t be living in the house anymore but she will still be their nanny and just be gone while they sleep.

Fanny is falling in love with Mau, she brought him a gift, and now she’s alone with León and tells him that she asked her father to give him his old job back, but León is too prideful and doesn’t want it.  Margarita talks to Fanny after he leaves to plead his case. She really wants Fanny for a daughter-in-law.
Ooh, I knew it, Enrique is talking with Bunny after the meeting at a restaurant telling her how spectacular she was at the meeting. She wants to know what he wants, I want exactly what you want, to destroy Fernando Lascuráin!

YoMama sneaks into the twins room to work her dastardly payback. She steals a notebook form a backpack and comes back to Isa’s room and they proceed to rip out pages of homework that was done. Really? This is the payback?

Ana stops in to see Fer before she leaves for the night. Fernando gives his blessing for her to pursue other men as she wants, he’s letting go of his claim on her, hahaha. She rightly reads him the riot act that he gave up any hope of being with her when he said I do. I am here for the children, you egotistical bastard, and if you ever thought that you could have your cake and eat it too, you are a fool, I would never go along with that. You’re my boss and that’s all. I will be the one who decides about my personal life, with or without Diego.

Ana grabs her stuff and heads out the door, very emotional. We flash back to Estefania saying goodbye to her family, that she won’t ever forget them, while wearing her cocktail dress looking glamourous instead of laying in her sick bed looking sick. I guess this is supposed to be some sort of shadowing to make us think of both these women leaving the family but never forgetting them, of something like that.

Luz wakes up in the middle of the night and leaves her room. She wanders past papa’s room, and opens the door to see (we hope) Isa putting the ripped out pages from the notebook in a drawer. She asks where dad is and they answer in creepy voices trying to be funny but it scares her a bit. Isa tells her that he’s in the library and she runs off. They wonder if she saw them putting the pages in the drawer.

Fer is remembering the great kissing he did with Ana when Luz comes in she comforts him. She tells him that she always goes to Ana when she’s upset and she makes her fell better, that’s what papa should do too. Oh, he wishes he could, honey.

We get back to the business meeting with Enrique and Bunny. She wants to know what he has up his sleeve, and he wants to know what she can give him in return. He wants the presidency. No prob, whacha got? Fer is vulnerable, the 7 kids are his weakness and he’s married to someone he doesn’t love. He is very distracted right now. It would be a shame if he were so distracted that he would commit a huge error that will cost him his job. And then in one month, Enrique will be the new president. She likes this plan.

Ana is at home now and Diego arrives. She and Jen run out and there is a Mariachi band with Diego singing his love to Ana. Yawn, I’ve seen this too many times to be excited about it. It looks like he’s lip syncing. Then 3 ballerinas step up to dance, ok, this is new, they do a dance to Tchaikovsky, I think, then unfold a banner that says ‘will you be my girlfriend?’ She says yes and they kiss for a long time. But while kissing, Ana thinks to herself, I hope I’m not making a mistake, uh oh.

Fanny comes home and finds Xi in her bed sleeping and Nando on her couch sleeping. Fan reminds him of their past talk about what a wacko Xi is and that he should be careful. He remembers.

Fer makes it up to the bedroom and Isa tells him that Alicia wants Syncope, the group, to play at her party and that she’s in love with the leader, Gustavo. Fer has a look, uh oh.

Ana invites Diego in and tells him about the convo she had with Fernando. When she’s done, Diego gets up to leave, really? You are now officially novios and you’re not going to seal the deal? And furthermore, he tells her he loves her and all she says is thank you. Oh no! Not good!

Fanny and Fer tell each other their troubles over late night tea. We already know what they are, no need for detail here.

Guille and Alex are at school the next day and can’t find their homework to turn in while Isa and YoMama are gloating over what they did to it. They get in trouble.

Avances: Diego tells Isa who tells Fer that Ana and Diego are novios.

Great recap cathyx! After running errands and needing to warm up with hot coffee and a snuggly sweater, this was a perfect way to relax.

I thought the Diego surprise was sweet--I mean he can sing to me anytime (and yeah, they always lip sync these things). But I thought the ballerinas were an especially nice touch knowing Ana's dream was to become one and she loves it so much. Dang this guy just gets her...almost painful to watch knowing he isn't end game. And I think he knows full well Ana is still trying to move on from Fer and I appreciated the fact he didn't push her.

As for Mr IBlewItBigTime, I sure hope we aren't going to be dealing with him moping away every day over Ana. We get it. Now deal with your witch of a wife. He has to be seeing the flares going off with her but he's just not wanting to deal with it because it's all about the baby. Case: the "gift". And Isa knows it.

The Enrique/Miss Overtanned plot--Yawn.

Alicia seemed to take it hard Ana was moving out. Luz took it better than I thought, but she still needs that evening security of a parent or adult. I get that being her mother's death was especially traumatic for her...almost instinctive she seeks out her parent-figures for reassurance they are still there. Sad to see her up each night...but she makes a good spy in the process.

Honestly, that homework revenge was so juvenile. Both those brujas never grew up emotionally. Isa may have graduated from Harvard, but she has the social intelligence of a 10 year old.

Love Ximena throwing Nando out...ah, hello, it's his house not yours. I think Fer needs to step in and no matter how sympathetic they feel for the girl, she is not their legal responsibility and if something happened, there are young kids in that house too. Hopefully her mother shows soon.

I understood Leon: he was embarrassed and his pride, he and Ana should meet, won't allow him to take favors, and especially from the woman he loves, but who he feels he can never have. But lord, if I was Fanny, I'd have a hard time staying away from that little cutie--still want a play date with him and Luz in one room.

Daisynjay

Thank you CathyX! Wonderful recap! And thanks Daisynjay for reminding me of Ana's dream to become a ballerina, sweet of Diego to remember.
My comment: I heard 3 hints last night about Diego's future...
1)After arranging to meet Ana he says he's nervous and maybe should have a little shot of tequila (before getting on his motorcycle)
2) When he's late showing up, Ana suddenly realizes "Oh no, something could have happened to him."
3) When they say goodbye later, she says as he departs "Be careful, those motorcycles are dangerous".
Okay call me Debbie Downer, but were all these references coincidence? Or something more sinister? Hope I'm wrong!!!

J in Oregon

Thank you, cathyx, for the great recap!

J in Oregon - I heart Diego. I really hope you're wrong about the motorcycle accident, although what you say makes sense. We all like him too much to approve of Ana breaking his heart. He's either going to have to do something dastardly to Ana, or he's going to die. Bummer.

Although I am NOT a cougar, I have to agree with Lichita's opinion of disGustavo: wow! Did anyone notice he looks more like Mau than either Leon, the prideful, and Tamara?

Excellent, Cathyx. And yes, that was Swan Lake they were playing.

I have the same sense of foreboding about Diego. I don't like this. Pablo Montero has been the sacrificial lamb twice in the early part of his career and I hope they're not going there.

As for the two brujas, I agree that this was ridiculously juvenile. I hope Luz saw the papers... and that Fernando finds them in her presence. Luz is not prone to lying or pranks no matter how much she cheers on her brothers. She should tell someone.

As for Senora Richbitch, she is just as greedy as Isabruja but equally short-sighted. Or she has a personal grudge as I speculated yesterday. Maybe she married someone 40 years older and Fernando was not going to accommodate her unmet needs. I wonder...

Cathyx, thanks for your wonderful recap this morning. It was very enjoyable.

J in Oregon, you were very perceptive catching all of those "there might be an accident on the horizon" hints. Hmmmmm . . . Only time will tell.

Daisynjay, I agree with your points about León and there is something to be said for him wanting to be able to do it on his own. So, now we know he is 25.

I got my biggest laughs from the creation of Yolanda and Isabela literally as brujas (witches) with their creepy voices, incessant cackling and witchy music played during their scenes. They were downright obnoxious with Luz insisting on calling her "Lucecita" when she asked that they call her Luz. The best comment (after Luz had gone) was Yolanda saying they should call her "oscuridad" (darkness) (the opposite of Luz(light).). The next morning, the witchy pair were actually watching the time cackling some more wondering if "Hansel and Gretel" --Yolanda's misnomer for the twins Alex and Guille--were noticing that their Spanish notebooks were gone and with them their homework. It was only appropriate episode ended with their cackles.

I loved how Ana reminded Fernando when the dream really died: at his wedding and put him in his place. How much more will he put himself through until he cries uncle.

So, now Alicia has a beautiful gown for her quince along with shoes. The dress "show down" is coming up soon.

I wonder about Linda's hatred of Fernando since she has been around for a while. At least we have a hint about the reason for Enrique's hatred.

The cutest comment was when Fernando looked so sad and Luz told him to have Ana give him a hug and tell him everything was going to be just fine. As cathyx said "he wishes he could".

Great episode with perfect balance of goofy comedy and drama.

Jarifa

Thanks, cathyx! Really excellent and thorough recap.

So Fer's vision of the thing he married is finally starting to come into focus, and he is not liking what he sees AT ALL. His telling the kids not to call her "bruja" is starting to sound very half-hearted, like he completely agrees with them but realizes his children need to learn manners.

Could Isa have been any more wretched about the little outfit Fer bought for the baby? "UGH! It isn't the very best brand!" "It's a good brand!" "But our baby must have only the very best!" (read: expensive. I don't think Isa knows much about quality.) Fer looked appalled at her snobbery. And then when she said, "oh well, the baby can just wear it to sleep and no one will ever see it" he looked very hurt. She isn't even pretending much to care about anything other than money anymore, is she?

Fer! Reduce the limit on her card even further. And go buy more baby clothes at a thrift store. Baby clothes are about the most ridiculous thing to spend a ton of money on. They spew stuff all over them and grow out of them in weeks.

Lucky Fanny to have her bedroom turned into a psych ward. I wonder if Xime will throw her out, too.

I would have liked the serenade better if Diego had gotten a bigger dance floor so the ballerinas could do something more exciting than a few little mincing steps and turns.

Isa and Yomama didn't want to put the notebook pages in the trash because the cleaners would find them. But don't those ladies also put laundry away? I hope one of them will find them if Luz doesn't connect some dots and tell someone what she heard and saw.

I wonder if (hope) Enreeky miscalculated and Linda Bunny doesn't really hate Fer as much as she pretends to. Maybe this is her weird way of flirting with him, or maybe she thinks challenging him this way will push him to do better and make more money to prove her wrong? I wonder how much of the company Fer owns. It would be nice if she really wants Fer to succeed and will tell him how much his VP hates him and is scheming against him. Of course, that could shorten the plot so it's unlikely.

Thanks for the recap!

Sra Lindas bun is so tight it must keep blood from flowing to her brain. Her anger makes no sense to me unless she tried to come on to Fer years ago and was rebuffed. I wonder if Reeky can trust her? I could see her screwing him over for the Prez job.

Tight bun owns 25% of the stock and thinks Fernando too conservative in his approach. I think for her its all about the money and Ricky a means to an end to oust Fernando and replace with a flasher cowboy that will play fast and loose.

I think Tight Bun made a pass at Fernando and he turned her down, thus her contempt for him.

Oh and I thought Diego's surprise for Ana was one of the most romantic proposals I've seen in a telenovela. I loved him singing, and his body language rocked!

Urban:

In what other novelas has PM been the sacrificial lamb?

In Abrazame Muy Fuerte and in Enter el Amor y el Odio, but he had a minor part in the latter.

Urban:
I thought the way he left the show in AMF was really stupid, even though I really liked the novela.

I agree. It really bugged me that the writers did that to his character. A healthy young man in his late 20s does not die from a broken heart.

J in Oregon, you may be on to something, but I would believe it more if Ana were more into him.

I would love it if the twins mention their homework disappearing and Luz comes to the rescue again and shows everyone where it is.

It would be a great plot twist if Bunny does have this crazy history with Fernando, she gets off on making scenes in the board room, but she really does like Fer. Then she tells him what Enrique is trying to do, and then Fer plays Enrique like a fool. Now that would be classic!

great recap, Cathyx. I read a lot into Alicia's reaction to Ana no longer spending the nights there... Alicia was not happy to hear it, even if she was not mad or that upset either. IT was VERY TELLING that she asked Ana if Isa had something to do with Ana leaving at nighttime. Ana said no, but you could tell Alicia did not buy that answer 100%.
yeah the baby outfit scene really took the blindfolds from Fernando's eyes... and he feels even worse now, since at the end of the scene he told himself 'que vida!' like saying (what a life is just beginning, and i got that for myself ALL BY myself).
Also at the end of Ana telling it to him like it is 'you don't tell me when i am over you. I own me and my destiny, so i call my own shots.' he was upset at himself 'me and my big mouth!' (knowing very well that the way he worded what he wanted to say to Ana came through as him giving her her liberty as if she had been his slave or his property.)

“How dare they do that to my proteges!” Hermes almost had a tantrum. “I'll show those harpies – “

“Calm down, dear brother,” said Athena. “Nothing can be gained by acting in haste. Let me see what I can do. Luz is a smart girl. She knows what Hissabela and her mother are all about. I will help her.”

“This is a pretty pass that we need to depend on a child to right a wrong,” said Hera. “But I don't want to see any of those children sent to boarding schools.”

“Nor do I,” said Athena. “She'd likely pick out the worst one as well. Hermes, leave this one to us while you figure out what to do with Enfrique's plans.”

Ana is feebly trying with Diego but her heart is not into it and unfortunately Fernando created a fine mess when he came off as if he decided she can move on.

Twins - bitches did eat our homework

Ana - may I have your permission to pee, Don Fernando

Diego - "Hold me closer tiny dancer"

Tight Bun - the enemy of my enemy is my friend

Ricky - rabid dog

Alicia - how astute

Fernando - when Luz goes mute again, will you do something then

Isabela - I want a Black Card

Totfie, loved the comments especially the Twins!

Jarifa

I think the dancers on the small round stages were supposed to be music box dancers.

Nanette,
I can't believe you figured that out and that makes Diego's gesture all that more meaningful becaue didn't he give Ana a music box with a ballerina when he returned from his trip along with the Zen (?) statue? No I probably have that wrong.

Nanette,

Yes! He did! He gave her a music box with a dancer and a statue of...was it Shiva?

It was a statue of Shiva, though it doesn't look like the Dancing Shiva statues I've seen.

It was Shiva and I've seen many variations and representations during my travels

Thank you, Cathyx!
I'm still behind with the watching, but your recap was entertaining and hilarious.

I cannot believe that two grown women would go after kids, and how? By destroying their homework. Seriously!!!

Diego is such a nice guy, I really hope we've just seen too many novelas and that is why we see bad omens where there are none.

Santa Ana surprises me by hesitating with Diego. Wasn't it just a few short telenovela "months" ago she wanted to settle down with Johnny, the unfaithful, petty-cash-from-her-purse pilferer, and have kids? Compared to Johnny, Diego is gold!

I think Ana realized she may not have even loved Johnny and was settling for what she knew, fell in love with Fernando and knows the difference now and while she is fond of Diego and believes he is a nice guy isn't feeling it.

Absolutely and at least Diego has some gold.

I think once Johnny cheated on Ana she was done with him. That was how the decks were cleared.

Of course Diego would have to change his way of life if he really wanted to marry Ana and have kids with her.

Thanks cathyx. I really enjoyed this lively light-hearted recap. Nicely done.

I was hoping for something much more clever from Yolanda. She seemed so wickedly inspired and then she steals their homework? Is that the best she's got? Heck.

I really don't like León nor his mother. On the surface, Margarita seems to be a very sympathetic loving mother, but she stood by and watched her son deceive the innocent Fanny and even abetted him with her silence and her lies. She's had a tough life but she is certainly not an admirable person.

Like the rest of you, I was happy seeing Ana stand up to Fernando and put him in his place as she did.

I think that Linda Tightbun is rather attractive in an icy way, but she should have had her ducks lined up when she attacked Fer at that board meeting. And Enrique as a recent hire is her choice to replace him? Based on what?

Carlos

Carlos,
I don't think Enreeky and Linda are thinking of his resume for giving him the Prez chair... it is more rather that she will have someone there that will work with her as a team, whatever she wants he will have it approved by the board... instead of bringing someone from outside or taking the chair herself (she might not have business admin background, she might have inherited the stock and just be a grownup rich brat).

so what do you all think will happen with the lost homework and the ripped papers in the drawer? didn't Fernando go for the drawer when he came into the room while arguing with Isabella?? or was it another drawer he opened (the left side maybe? Isa put the papers on the far right top drawer).

tofie, i agree with your take on Ana and why she hessitated on taking in Diego's asking to be 'gf/bf'. She knows what she feels for Diego is not even in same ballpark as her feelings for Fernando, so she is hessitating since the last thing she wants to do is hurt Diego in the long run. However, like she told Fer herself, she can't wait for him forever and she knows Diego will definitely take care of her... (as you all say, if he changes his 'giggolo' ways)

Diego is not a gigolo but he is a player. However, I am worried for him now.

Urban
Are you worried for Diego because he has fallen head over heels for Ana and his love may not be returned or for another reason?

UA, I am worried for the character too... remember Pablo's character fate in Abrazame muy fuerte? the guy had married the heroine by church and he wanted her to be happy with his half brother because he always knew she loved HIM so he basically starved himself to death so they could marry by church... yikes! so here i don't want them to get as far as a church wedding, or else i see a bad fate for Diego.

One thing I really liked about Las Tontas No Van al Cielo is that the protagonista's husband #1, to whom she was church-married, didn't die, even though for a while it really seemed like he might because he was boldly challenging some scary mafia dudes. They got a divorce, the two stars had a happy civil marriage, and the other guy found someone else.

I wish something like that would happen here, but I fear Osorio is rather bloodthirsty.

I fear for his life. Those rumors of Pablo being fired could mean that Diego dies or ends up having plastic surgery because of an accident and another actor takes over. Valentino Lanus was mentioned; he would be the logical choice.

if something were to happen to Diego, I wonder if Isa would have something to do with it... because there is a very blurry line between 'i got the guy and his money, but i realize you have his heart so i am not the ultimate winner' to 'i am going to make sure that if i am not happy, you won't either, no matter what'.

It could also be that she would have Diego offed because -- as he is younger, without known issue, and probably doesn't have a will -- Fernando would likely get whatever he has in the bank.

yeah she could have Diego off'ed for many reasons, including 'i just don't want Ana to become a Lascurain' she is to N A C A for the social status that comes with it ... i would not put it past her to try against Jennifer's life either, esp if Jenn moves in.

I'm worried about Diego because Ana doesn't love him and we saw what happened to Tamara in order to wrap up that loose end. Diego & Fernando have already made their peace so doubt Diego would be the one to ultimately keep Ana & Fernando apart. Isabela, on the other hand, will not go quietly into the night.

I have the feeling that Tamara had nobody to love her except the little boy.

Diego, on the other hand, has seven sobrinos, a father, and a brother, and there eventually would be the right woman for him.

On the previous point, Jennifer moving in would be a riot. At least she would be an ally for Ana, who needs all the help she can get.

Save yourself, Diego! Drop Ana like a hot potato and fall for someone else! Anyone else! Leon! Linda Bunny! disGustavo! Laura! Dana! Beatriz! It doesn't matter! Just move on from Ana before you are forced to The Other Side!

Maybe Diego will just have a motorcycle accident and, while recuperating, move back into the big house, where he and Ana will be under Fernando's nose again.

Late to comment as usual :-)

My apologies for this encyclopedic post, but as I say in the next paragraph, I am feeling wicked!

Part 1 of 3

I am feeling wicked, so anyone that is easily and not so easily offended and shocked please stop reading now. For the rest who will venture forward into the menagerie let us begin (bwahahaha)

Fernando has retreated into his office with his crack team; Fanny the Costena (dang, this kb does not have the enye) future heiress. Qique the Merciless grins and nods agreeing with Fernando while he imagines how he’ll stab Fer in the back “How shall I stab thee in the back, let me count the ways, with a butcher knife, with a dagger, with a utility knife, with a wooden stake, with a butter knife, no wait, skip the butter knife”. Meanwhile Fer is confident that he can handle the bun from hell; however, in his ever clueless state he is unaware that the Dark Side has lowered its veil of deceit and treachery.

Then, as I start to get into their conversation the show cut to the gardens where Ana and Johnny (alias Jhonny) are actually having a friendly talk,. Looks like the novella’s writer have put Johnny in “good guy mode”. One thing leads to another and soon they are doing positive thoughts exercises. Looks like Ana has been watching Louise Hays on Youtube. And it looks like it works because Ana starts to drift off into the sky. Johnny seeing that Ana is doing a Peter Pan decides that he can do it to and jumps into the air. Alas this was not to be and he falls, rolls down an incline and off a cliff. He does a spectacular Homer Simpson fall, hitting every obstacle possible, including some government officials. He finally slams into the jagged rocks below. He slowly and painfully raises his hand and waves. “I’m ok, no worries” he exclaims as a great white shark jumps out of the water, snaps him between its jaws and hurriedly retreats back into the water. This is when I wake up and realize that Johnny is still on the grounds. Well, I can dream, right?

The scene changes and now we see Alicia modeling her dress for the Great Event of her 15th birthday which Isa hopes will dwarf Kate Middleton’s wedding. Isa is supportive and cheers Alicia on, having a bonding moment as they hug. Once Lichita and her friend are out of frame Isa reaches under the couch and retrieves her favorite book: How to Be an Evil Stepmother for Dummies.

Now in another scene we have Ximena doing a Sybil and showing off her less than nice personality. She is running Nando off! She fear that her evil side will do a Praying mantis and start devouring her true love, and not with kisses! Nando seems distraught. Nando! Use the Force!!!Or at the very least give her a Tribble! I wondered where they were, was it Ximena’s house? Was it Nando’s room? I discarded the latter since clichéd stereo types dictate that a boy’s room should not be pink. My query is answered when Fanny comes in. It looks like it is her room.

Now we have a secret meeting between Qique the Merciless and Buns from Hell. Looks like they are plotting. I could tell by the way they moved their eyebrows and stroked their “evil villain” staches.

“I’ll destroy Fernando. If he was the evil witch of the west I would be the guy with the bucket of water!” .

“I want him fired and professionally humiliated. I want to burn him so bad that he won’t be able to get a job selling salsa at the tianguis.” “Pray tell, what is your evil plan”

“Simple, the guy is so clueless that he’d marry the first gold digger and not even know it. He’s got 7 brats that will distract him and the piece of resistance; he is married to someone that he does not love!” With guys like him it just no challenge being a mega villain!”

“And how do you know that he does not love his wife?”

“I am an expert at reading. I observed his body language, his subtle verbal cues, the way that he looks at Isabela, plus he changed his Facebook status to “In a loveless marriage”.”

Part 2 of 3

“By the way. If I help you I want the presidency!”

“Why? The country is in ruins, there are manifestations everywhere, assassinations and kidnappings. Anyone with legs is fleeing to the northern country to watch old telenovelas”

“No you twit, the presidency of this company!”

“Ah, well, that’s better. And what would I get out of it?”

“I’ll make sure that I make Fernando bleed. And I’ll fix it so you’ll make 50 million pesos a year!”

Both cackle the she goes silent for a second and then exclaims, “Hey wait a minute!”

Qique gives her an evil smile. “Just imagine how Fernando is going to suffer”

“You’re right!” she cackles as she stokes her stache. “Wait a second, where did this stache come from?” The scene closes as her bun whimpers at the viewing audience “Help meee!”

Now we see as Fernando gets home all cheery and goes to Isabela. “Look what I got the baby” he says as he proudly and lovingly hands Isabela this really cute baby outfit.

“Oh… how adorable!!!!” Says Isabela as she frantically searches the outfit.

“What are you looking for?”

“The OshKosh B’gosh label, where is it?”

“It is not Kosh begosh”

Isabela looks at him. “Where did you get this?”

“They had a clearance sale at Kmart”

Isabela turns white, her hands begin to shrivel. “You did not say Kmart!!! And I touched it! Look, I am getting a rash! Oh my gawd!!! How could you??!! Quick, someone take this and burn it! Mom! Mom!! Look what he did to me!!!” Isa yells as she quickly runs off.

“What did she say?” asks Fer.

Now we see Fanny having a loving moment with Mau. Looks like she still has a relationship with this family. Now Fanny is talking to Lion’s mom. Looks like the three make a good fit. Then Lion comes in, has a quick talk with Fanny. When Fanny realizes that Lion is still unemployed she mentions that she can talk to her dad to rehire Lion, but he’ll have no part in this. He is the epitome of maleness and needs to stinkin help to get a job. Lion? Did you even hear what she said? She said “rehire”, you already had a job there and quit. There is no big deal to go back and ask for the job again. Lion roars and makes a quick exit.

“You still love my son don’t you?”

“Yes, I can’t hide it. I love him. I just wish he wasn’t so… so… stupid.”

Lion’s mom thinks about it for a second then reacts, “He gets it from his father’s side!’

Next up we get to see the mother-daughter Tweedledum and Tweedledee team exacting their revenge on the twins. Yolanda sneaks into the boys’ room and steals some notebooks with their homework. Really? So here is what is going to happen: Kids get in trouble at school, teacher thinks they are lying, teacher (or other school official) calls in Fer, discussion turns up that the homework disappeared, Isa is found out and she ends up being the monster for ruining an important part of the kids’ lives: their education. This is clearly outlined in chapter 15 of the book you are reading . It also contains hints how to play evil pranks on the step kids. Ruining their homework is not one of them! But of course, we understand, you are still an evil villainess wannabe who is on chapter 8. Lesson one: always finish reading the book before attempting any evil. This is just an event waiting to backfire. I would have preferred the type of revenge that humiliates them in a funny way, not something that will only make the Yo-Isa evil gang look bad.

While the Yo-Isa gang is evil doing our noble Fer is talking to Ana, sacrificing himself and allowing Ana to be free and mingle with other men whether it be Diego or not. She graciously accepts his sacrifice by not choking him to death on the spot, but does give him a piece of her mind and not her 2 cents worth, but rather at least 2 million dollars’ worth!

Part 3 of 3

A few seconds later we see Ana leaving the house with her stuff. I was expecting violins here to make me cry, but instead we are rewarded by a flashback scene when Mommy Fanny tells her brood (all 8 of them) that she loves them. I would have preferred the violins!

Next we have the Yo-Isa evil gang gloating of their success and destroying evidence. Little Luz walks towards the door and hears them talking, but without any overly dramatic music or telling expression on Luz’s face it does not seem like she heard anything important. She enters the room as Isa stuffs the remnants of the notebooks into a drawer.

Luz makes the grave error of asking them something and they responding with that hypocritical sweetness which is enough to retard anyone’s development. After a mind numbing encounter Luz leaves, hopefully not requiring professional help.

She then has an encounter with her dad who is deep in regretfullness that he was so clueless that he did not choose Ana and his family and instead married the wrong person in a futile attempt to do The Right Thing. Luz once again references her evil stepmom as “la bruja” to which Fer kindly reminds her that Isa is all good and she loves everyone and she’ll donate her kidneys for the betterment of mankind. Luz smiles “Oh Daddy, you look so adorable when you are naïve”. She then whisks off.

“What did she say?”

In another part of town Ana is with Jenny at their house. They are getting ready to hit the sack when this racket starts outside. Their first thought is to call the police and report a disturbance of the peace, but then it occurs to them that it might be a serenade. They head for the door and sure enough, it is Diego doing an American Idol singing his lungs off (assuming they were his lungs). After the hypnotic song finishes Diego breaks out a couple of ballerinas doing a dance to classical music. Wait a second, what? No Cannon in D? Just when you need this! Diego wisely decides to not participate in this dance. Ana is awe struck and can’t think. Diego takes advantage of Ana’s altered state and pops the question by having the ballerinas unfold a banner that reads “Will you be my girlfriend”. Still dazed Ana simply says “Yes”… “Oh wait, what the hell have I done?”

The dance continues and finishes off. Then Diego waves his hand and the Cirque du Soleil begins its performance. After a few minutes Diego gets on his knees, takes out a ring… “Ana, will you marry me?”

“Diego, wait! You want to go from “be my girlfriend” to “be my wife” in two hours?”

“Yes, of course, I’ve got the Pope lined up after the Cirque du Soleil to marry us and he’s got to be at the airport in two hours!”

“Oy!”

Now Isa is telling Fer all about Alicia’s coming party, the band that Lichita wants and by the way, Lichita is in love with the band leader.

Fernando: “What did she say?”

Next day the scenes alternate between the twins school and the Yo-Isa evil gang cackling and gloating. The teacher asks for the home work and the twins casually reach into their back backs to get it, Yo-Isa cackling. The twins taking out their other notebooks searching for the homework. Yo-Isa cackling. The twins frantically searching for their homework, now shaking their backpacks hoping that their homework is somehow lodged somewhere within the bowels of the backpacks. Yo-Isa cackling. The teacher now not believing a word that the twins are saying. Yo-Isa cackling. The twins asking for more time to procure an electron microscope to more thoroughly search the backpacks.

To be continued…

Salvador, thank you for the Fractured Fairy Tale version of the recap. It is high comedy. As in, I am wondering if you are high. Just kidding; it is very funny.

Love your advice to read the whole book before attempting any evil.

Luz smiles “Oh Daddy, you look so adorable when you are naïve”. She then whisks off. was my favorite. Good stuff!

Salvador: Too funny! This is my fav:

“You still love my son don’t you?”

“Yes, I can’t hide it. I love him. I just wish he wasn’t so… so… stupid.”

Lion’s mom thinks about it for a second then reacts, “He gets it from his father’s side!’

great stuff, Salvador! i agree with Nanette, i like the scene with Fanny and Margarita...

also the Kmart Clearance was brilliant!

now if only we have the maid leave the Kmart tags on the sheets she puts on Isa/Fer's bed next time she makes it... that would be awesome!...
