Mi corazon es tuyo #58... Tonight at the UFC event... Mama Bear vs Modern Wicked StepMom!!! Nico tries to free Jenny, Ana gets a new uniform and Fernando gets more enchanted with Ana

Refritos:

Leon crying over Fanny’s drawing.

Isa’s tantrum at her mirror and looking at the camera swearing vengeance… BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Sebas telling Ana what happened with the twins, Isa and the school notebooks and him.

Lo Nuevo:

Outside the house, Reeky offers Fernando support. Fernando the dumb says ‘I am sure the office is in good hands with you’. Reeky tells Fernando he only has his dad but he had an embolism recently (it was your fault, embezzle!!) … but life goes on… give a kiss to your wife for me… of course… (DANG!!)

Reeky leaves, Fernando remembers Nando’s words while remembering moments mixed (before and after wedding with Isa) with Ana… ‘yeah I am a bitter old man’.

Isa continues moaning at mirror. Here comes Mama Bear…

‘You don’t mess with my kids!! You can do whatever you want with me, but with them… NO!! Give Thanks to heaven that you are pregnant, because you don’t know what I am capable of… you are not going to say anything?... how do you dare to hurt a kid like that?’ / ‘Fernando will hear about this.’ / ‘Orale! Sure! why don’t we start telling him about the issue of the notebooks or the fact that you enjoy humiliating the kids or that you hurt Sebas…’ / ‘don’t exaggerate, Ana! I did not do anything to him!’ / ‘ ah no? lets go see what Don Fernando says about you calling his son an ‘engendro’ … about that you said that he should overcome the loss of his mom… ‘ / ‘haven’t you got it? Sebas invented all this!’ / ‘Don’t tell me those things, Isa!! Let’s put Don Fernando to the test to see who he believes more, if you or one of his children… Let’s go! Orale!... should I drag you?’

Downstairs Fernando is in living room with Diego and Fanny. Fanny lets Fernando know Leon stopped by the office to see him while he was at the hospital with Nando and Ximena. Fer will deal with that tomorrow.Nico arrives. Bruno is there too. Fanny takes her leave to go to bed. Nico asks if he can join the whiskey round. Diego will wait for Ana.

Back upstairs. ‘So it is clear to you now. Right, spider? Don’t mess with my kids. ‘ / ‘you don’t have any idea who you are messing with, N A N A C A.’ / ‘ the one who has no clue who she is messing with is you, mija. And it is the last time you call me that way, because next time I will forget you are pregnant. How do you like that?’ / (Sebas is at door listening to all this, is scared and crying still) ‘ Do you really think you can intimidate me? Do you really believe you have power over me??’ / ‘ when Fernando finds out…’ (notice they both call him Fernando) / ‘When Fernando finds out, he will do what he promised me. This house is an absolute chaos. You think everything you do has no consequences? ‘ / ‘The consequences will be yours because…’ / ‘Don’t interrupt me, maid!! (ouch!).. The children are out of control… they are beasts. (ouch!!) and you motivate them to keep misbehaving…’ / ‘A ver, maestra’ (in this context is like saying ‘lets see ma’am!’ in Mex) ‘Don’t call them like that!’ / ‘Quiet!!’ / ‘they are no beasts or anything like that… they are better human beings than you!... let’s see, what they did was a prank. They are kids! On the contrary, you go steal their notebooks… who is the adult? The one with all those studies… the doctor degrees… ‘ / ‘let’s see… imagine that I slipped on the paint and had lost the baby (puts her hands on her belly) … that pair of ‘engendros’ are disrespectful… know who is the real one to blame?? You, Ana!! You, you and no one more than you!! (‘tu, tu y nadie mas que tu’ is a line in a famous song). Ana Leal!! The one that influences the kids… the one that should care for them, the one that should educate them!... ‘ / ‘Look, Isabella!...’ / ‘Quiet! I have not got to the punchline! Fernando knows perfectly that you are inept… and he promised me that the next time his kids misbehaved he was going to get a new Na-na! (Sebas gets even more upset) that simple! If you go with him with the tattle-tale, all you will do is put in evidence your ineptitude even more.’ / ‘ one! I just don’t believe you! … two! I can be all you say about me but I will never be a tarantula with no heart who utilizes helpless souls, including the one in your belly…’ / ‘ ah! Ya, ya! It would only be natural that you lost your cool one day… and slapped me… Oh, no! wait! You already did, right? (Ana looks down, a bit deflated/concerned) Because it would also be too bad that Fernando learned that you slapped his wife while she is pregnant. Remember you would not only lose your job… you would lose everything. ‘ / ‘ Alright… I will give it to you. I did screw that one. But nine months… or whatever you have left… pass pretty quickly, Chabela (a nickname for Isabela). What I don’t understand is that you utilize your baby to defend yourself… well, of course, you used it to marry him. You are capable of anything (whispers) you scare me, Isabela. ‘ / ‘ that is right, I am capable of everything… of everything!... to get you away from Fernando.’ / ‘ sure. I will only tell you one thing, and I will tell you slowly so it is clear to you. You mess with any of my kids again, and you will regret, Isabela, of having been born (where is Sebas to hear this?). Got that?’ (Ana leaves on a roll, and Isa is having another tantrum about hating the darn Nana)

Downstairs, the men continue their talk over whiskey… Nico says it is very important for Jenny to have a kid, and for his age, it is not possible to adopt one either. Fernando suggests Nico talk to her about it. Bruno and Diego also support Nico. Nico is afraid that if he does not fulfill her dream of a family, love will end at some point.

Ana is with Sebas… she wants to tell Fernando. Sebas is afraid if Fernando finds out he will fire her. Sebas does not want her to leave. She is the best that has happened to ‘us’. (the twins are awake… ) Ana insists that what Isa did was very wrong and his dad must find out. Finally Sebas makes her promise. Sebas thanks her for defending him. Ana promises Isa won’t hurt him again but he also has to do his part and help her control the twins. We won’t disrespect Isa either. It is a no-agression treaty. Final hug from Ana, she says she is doing it in the name of his mommy who is always with him. (I have to say this kid did some good acting here) (Sebas asks Ana for one final hug… )

Fernando asks Nico to be honest with Jenny. Nico says ‘what if I lose her for good?’ Nico says you have to show your cards. Bruno agrees. Fernando says maybe you won’t lose her… Diego cheers Nico up.

Ana is now with Nando. He needs time to think. She just reminds him he has a loving family and he has always been a model for his siblings and is the pride of his dad. If you need anything, I am there for you. He is crying alone ‘I only need you Ximena… I would give my life for you to be well.’ (yikes!)

Ana in her room looking at the dress for Alicia. ‘My Lichita will have everything I did not have… the waltz, the chambelanes (escort boys), the picture at the ‘Angel’, the carriage down the highway/street .. whatever… it doesn’t matter because I have my kids… and for them I have to behave… but I do miss the picture at the ‘Angel’ but… no sweat…

Diego, Fernando continue encouraging Nico,… as Ana comes down the stairs, Fernando says ‘Jennifer is a good woman, dad… and she loves you. Look, if I have learned something, is that it is very painful to turn your back on love’.

Diego drops Ana at her house… she apologizes for not inviting him in… she is real tired… he just wanted to see her guitar… since it is part of her story. On Sunday he will tell her anything she wants to know about him.

Back at the house, Bruno is again stealing toys from the boys. He is looking for one specifically… finds it.

Fernando asks Hissabella what happened to her face… she comes up with ‘a new cream burned my skin’.

She feels like nagging at him that he spends all day without even remembering he has a wife. As he is getting on the bed, Fernando hears a coughing… he realizes it is Luz. He runs out. Isa is miffed about having to tolerate the 7 ‘monsters’, as her mom had warned her.

Fernando is in the girls room, Luz is sick on her throat… Fer makes her lift her arms to ease her coughing while he gets her some hot cocoa (really?)

Ana gets to her bedroom, Jen asks her how is Sebas. Ana tells her how the Tarantula mangled him bad. But Ana put her in her place. Ana is so exhausted she can’t talk much more.

Fernando is making the cocoa… he can’t handle the microwave… not sure if he is going to burn the house.

Ana is dreaming that Ana is marrying Diego, with Bruno as priest… ‘or you, Fernando’. Priest Bruno is telling Ana to chose one or the other to be her partner for life… the clock is ticking!... Ana has to choose one or lose them both… the brothers disappear… Priest Bruno tells her ‘now you don’t have either’ ‘Como el perro de las dos tortas’ (like the dog which would not choose between the two sandwiches… [and got none]) Ana wakes up scared, tells Jenn about the dream. Was that a nightmare or the truth? ‘like the Lopez de Lascurain!’

The poor cocoa glass is boiling in the microwave… Fernando burns himself trying to get the glass out. Luz comes to kitchen asking what happened to him. Fernando will call the doctor. Luz asks for Ana. Fernando ends up calling Ana.

Ana is still trying to go to sleep and let Jenny sleep while at it. Ana’s phone rings… Fernando tells her Luz has a bad cough. Fernando says ‘I tried to heat up some milk but it was a failure’. Ana goes through a list of things that could help the cough… how about a ‘jarabito’ (cough medicine). Luz complains it tastes awful. Ana says to give her half a teaspoon of honey. Ana promises she is on the way there. Meanwhile Fernando will give her the medicine and honey. Fernando hangs up. Isa asks Luz ‘are you feeling bad, honey?’ / ‘Isa, why aren’t you in bed? You have to sleep 8 hours for the baby! (PLEEEZE!!!) / ‘yeah but the cough of the radiant Luz won’t let me sleep.’ (Luz, with all intention, coughs in Isa’s direction)… Fernando gets so confused that he drops the entire box of silverware on the floor looking for a teaspoon… he is half-cursing when Luz makes him cut himself short… ‘I don’t know why I agreed with you Isabella! Ana has to sleep here! It is best for the kids!... for everyone!!’ (Isa just rolls her eyes at that) He grabs the honey and heads to the bathroom. Isa moans ‘this is not coming the way I planned… is this what you really want, Isabel?... really?... is this the life you wanted?’ (that is what I want to know! What did you expect marrying a guy with 7 kids??)

A while later, Fernando and Luz are with Ana in the girls room… Ana had drawn a picture of Luz… Luz asks if that is her… Ana says ‘don’t you see it has ‘chinos’? (I guess that means curls, since the girl in the drawing has them), but I drew it for you!’ Ana explains to her it is Saturday so she doesn’t have to go to school. Luz slips ‘que chido!’ (Fernando rolls his eyes in a funny way) and Ana uses exactly the same wording Fernando used way back when to suggest other wording for Luz to be excited, like ‘que padre’.

Ana is very tired. She is leaning sideways… She is falling over and Fernando grabs her shoulders calling her name. She jumps up… he sends her home. Ana gives a ‘beso tronado’ to Luz… turns to give another ‘beso tornado, mi…’ (and realizes it is Fernando, who looks like he would not have minded one…) Fernando thanks her for coming at this hour. Ana crashes on her bed in the house. Fernando peeks in her door ‘how could I not love you, Ana?... how could I not love you?’ he sighs big when he leaves her room.

Next morning… Bruno and Manuela at kitchen. Bruno seems to have told her what YoMama told him. Bruno reminds Manuela that Isa feels embarrassed to have a mom like yoMama. Manuela tells him YoMama is only trying to inspire his pity. Nico comes in… wants a quick breakfast, he looks a bit out of it. Does not feel good. (I am afraid it looks like Bruno is ready to go meet with Jen to break up with her)

Sorry, creepy scene here… Reeky visits his dad again. Again he tells his dad that it is going great in his plan to destroy Fernando, who is totally oblivious to it. Reeky’s dad continues his grunts of disapproval.

Luz is in Ana’s room admiring the dress again. Ana asks how she feels. Much better thanks to your ‘buga-buga!’ (the plant Ana had made her a tea of) (buganfilia?) Luz asks when she will give Alicia the dress. Ana is hesitant that Alicia will or will not like the dress. Luz is sure she will. Fernando knocks on Ana’s room and asks Luz how is her cough. ‘Ana disappeared it!’ Fernando ‘tells’ Ana ‘we need for you to keep sleeping here’. Luz is so ecstatic that she yells some undeciphrable cheer about it… Ana laughs. Fern did not get any of it either, but he ‘gets’ that she is happy about it. Ana keeps laughing. Fer and Ana stare…

Nico arrives at Jennifer’s house. Need to talk. Wants to cancel their wedding. (awwww Nico!!) She is upset surprised. Does not understand why. (out comes Johnny in just a towel asking Jen for…(we did not get what)… and plays innocent ‘did I interrupt anything?’

Back to Ana’s room… Ana sends Luz down to breakfast… but in comes Bruno with Ana’s new uniform. (wait! Fernando is wearing washed jeans and casual shoes!! Wow!) Fernando explains to her that it was about time for a change. She said it was so timely, the buttons were busting on the old one. Ana mentions that his wife will have a fit when she finds out Ana is back… Fernando says the most important thing is the wellbeing of the kids. .. besides, it is not fair that she live so far and have to travel at night. Ana asks if he told Isa already. Haven’t got a chance, she went out with her friends. A coffee, you know. Ana repeats that when she finds out… Troy could burn down… Fernando asks ‘does that mean you accept to sleep here again?’ ‘Simon… yes… you know I am here (musa caperusa al pie del canon) muse for you in the battlefront… just let her know.’ (would anyone know why she said that he is brushing his hair backwards, and then she apologizes while they again stare at each other.. here we go again…)

Of course Isa is having ‘coffee with friends’ at Reeky’s bed… she totally enjoys his sex… extraordinary… last time she did chaka chaka with Fer was … so long ago… (interesting) are you going to fix me some breakfast? / ‘at your service, Mrs Lascurain’. (where did I leave that barf bag??)

Back to Nico/Jen… ‘I think it is best for you’… ‘ why?’ ‘I don’t think I should chain you up to me for the rest of your life… look, when you are 45 I will be about 80.. and ..’ ‘there is one thing you are forgetting… don’t you think this is my decision?... Love is what is most important..’ ‘yeah but love… will end when you find yourself having to help me walk..’ ‘if love ends, it ends with someone old, with someone young… but it is MY decision! It is MY decision if I decide to marry someone older or not!... don’t you have anything to say?... or…is there any other reason?’ ‘ No… no!... I love you!’

Ana tells Fernando that the issue with Sebas is just about under control. Fernando asks how… she remembers promising Sebas she would not tell Fernando the story so she does not tell Fernando, but she suggests they get a Psychologist for Sebas. Fernando has thought about it but somehow he sees having to find a Psychologist is a sign that he failed as a parent… Ana does not agree. She explains parents sometimes have to reach out for help, they can’t handle everything, that they need help… at least that is what a book that she read recently says (remember she told Isa she had read some books on parenting?). Fernando is happy to hear that… and he will get busy finding the best Psych for Sebas. Ana reminds Fernando that Sebas needs Fernando to give him some ‘quality time’ (she said it in English even if she said tine instead of time, and then translated it for him LOL!!). Fernando is now smiling, giggling, they almost hold hands. Fer says ‘I am… I am impressed.’ / ‘For my English level’ / ‘ja! No, no. For you!’

Fernando says maybe she can loan him the book, or even better, they can read it together… Ana says she is almost done reading it, she can loan it to him. Ana changes subject to the issue of Nando… Fernando says that issue is a bit more complicated. They both have to support Nando as a team. (gosh, these two should be married already… I can see them so connected and working as a team as parents)

Nando is again at hospital visiting Ximena. He looks a bit scared being in the Psych ward.

Back to Nico/Jen… he had investigated about the possibility of adopting. There are some requirements… in short, they could not adopt a baby. Jen gets sad… holds his hand.

Fernando continues praising Ana as being right in everything. Then he spots the dress in the bag.. and he insists until she shows it to him. She does make him promise to keep quiet about it. He is totally taken aback by not only how pretty it is but by her gesture. He insists to reimburse her but she won’t accept. It is her gift for Alicia. Ana says she is nervous Alicia won’t like it. Fernando assures her Alicia will love it. As she is putting it back in the bag a little piece of chiffon falls and she says ‘you started breaking it with your eyes’… (LOL!) ‘Ana, thank you for this moment… thank you for your advice…’ Ana sends him away so she can fix the dress.

Diego leaves his building to go running… Isa is eating the decent breakfast Reeky fixed for her. He wants to know about Ana and Diego. Reeky leaves the room to take a call… Isa asks herself what does Reeky plan?...

Ana is modeling her new uniform in her room and comes out of her room… she hears a familiar song… (a woman singing the song her mom used to sing)… Ana is totally moved… she remembers her mother singing to her and her mother’s voice and hands… she comes to YoMama’s door and sees her singing to the mirror… Ana gets really emotional/upset…

Previews: seems YoMama IS Ana’s mom… or at least that is what they want us to believe… meanwhile Diego and Ana kiss in front of Fernando and Leon…

Good work, Marta. Couldn't sleep and maybe it's because I needed that barf bag.

Isabitch is really overreaching herself now. Between the adultery and the cruelty she displays to the children she's on the road to Tartarus with no return ticket.

What I'd love to know is where anybody gets the idea that pregnancy is so fragile. Nothing Isabitch's doctor said implied that she needed to quit work or restrict herself in any way, yet Ana and Fernando walk on eggshells about it. That slap Ana delivered wouldn't have done a thing, so she shouldn't feel she needs to restrain herself.

But I guess that the rest of the nine months (30 weeks at this point) will build up enough nastiness from Isa that we could be seeing a full-blown catfight after the baby is born.

Thanks, Marta for the recap and especially for translating that crucial scene between Isa and Ana.

I, too, wondered what Isa expected marrying someone with seven children.

I'm wondering if Yola is going to pretend to be Ana's mother because she realizes that Isa is not winning the battle with Ana and will throw herself in her camp to keep the lifestye she'll lose when Isa and Fer breakup.

Nanette

Either she didn't think it through or Hissabela thought she could talk Fernando into shipping them off to boarding schools so he could enjoy her hot self. Typical narcissistic stuff.

BTW, does anyone else think that Luz is learning about tricks from her brothers and was just pretending to be sick to get him to call Ana?

Marta thanks so much for some of the translations of phrases that flew past me the first go round. I doubt I'll ever use these words in my day-to-day vocabulary, but who knows.

Luz continues to be such an adorable little girl and Sebastian's acting has improved greatly. His scenes with the Isabruja and Ana really had me in tears.

Wonderful Marta! I agree with all about the nausea setting in last night.

Of course they will make Isa and Eeky as smarmy as possible so we get our happy ending. But this early in the game, I'm just wondering how long some of Isa's tandrums and antics are going to go one before Fer finds out and there's a confrontation. Knowing him, I stills don't hold out hope because all Isa has to do is fake a problem pregnancy or he'll feel confused since they had a church wedding which always seems to throw a loop into things.

I don't think Isa is done with messing with Ana. And this whole Yomama being the mother I think is too early and being telegraphed too much to be real. Those two could really milk this. There's that nausea again.

The kids were amazing last night, and UA, I thought the same thing. At the most, she had a tickle in her throat she couldn't get rid of, but she sure seemed to bounce back once she heard Ana was coming back. Bless her little heart.

I'm not feeling too happy with the direction Nando is going. If Fer gets help for Sebas, he better sign up Nando too. First love is hard, but Nando is channeling too much of his own being and worth into having Ximena around. He's always been a bit fragile in how he was regarded by his peers, and this is bringing him back to that place. Hope they don't have him do anything stupid.

Daisynjay

Marta thanks for your wonderful recap. It was like reading an annotated script. You are so talented!

I loved the interchange with Ana and Isabela. I still think that Ana should have told Fernando about everything happening in his house because those are his children. At least she was smart enough to suggest a psychologist for Sebastián. The tea for Luz was "bugambilia" a traditional home brewed cough remedy.

This time Bruno took a "balero" from the kids's toy basket . Another "traditional" thing: a cup and stick toy.

Poor Fernando was enjoying all and any communication with Ana. He was positively beaming when they were talking about being on the same "team."

I am sure hoping that Jennifer puts Nico out of her misery already and tells him she still has one functioning ovary. So much drawn out drama. Just tell him already!

Last, Marta, yes, I was singing this a.m.: me importas tú y tú y tú y nadie más que tú. Ojos negros piel canela, . . . etc. A real oldie but a goodie!

Jarifa

Nando does need help. He may be confident in his academics but he's out of his depth now with Ximena. He's seen the sort of mother she had and this has to be incomprehensible to him. He is vulnerable and you're right: First love is difficult and he needs people to be there for him. Ana needs to tell Fernando ASAP just as she should be telling him about the incident with Sebas.

Of course, we know how Isabitch would spin that one.

Since she has so little self-control when reacting to anything about her stepchildren it shouldn't be long before Fernando notices something. However, if this runs 200 episodes that credibility will be stretched.

exactly. they can't keep these mind games with Ana, Fer, Isa, Diego et al... for 150 more eps... so i am hoping there will be a halfway happy wedding day and this will turn out like one of the older family shows (Mundo de Juguete, Carita de Angel, etc etc)... where the guy and the ex-teacher or ex-nun, or in this case ex-nanny get married and then it changes to them being a team to face whatever issues come along with either the kids or the other characters around...
however, the Reeky issue is separate and it could turn things in the wrong direction, like causing a misunderstanding in Fer's mind (we all know how DIFFICULT that is... NOT!) to make him stop his advances toward Ana and even push Ana into Diego's arms for a while...
anything but revolving around the same block that we have had in the last few weeks...

I liked the Ana/Sebas scene after the catfight with HissaBella...
Osorio's kid might not be that talented in dancing hip-hop but he showed his acting chops last night.
I loved how enchanted Fernando was with Ana telling him all about the book, and then showing him the dress for Alicia... that was good acting on JS... he probably would never expect that kind of gesture from Hissabella... and Fanny Sr might not have been 'trained' in the humble housework type things like sewing, cooking, playing simple things with the kids, like Ana is.
Fanny Sr did love Fernando and the kids very much, she might just not have been that busy with 'details' like Ana is.

UA, ITA about Nando also needing help as much as Sebas...

and ITA about Luz stealing the show with her coughing and requesting Ana... too cute that she even yelled that cheer that i could not figure out for my life and even Fernando was stunned in a happy way with her reaction to Ana staying.

Marta, I think this is your finest recap to date.

Your conversations translations were incredible and greatly appreciated.

"Isa’s tantrum at her mirror and looking at the camera swearing vengeance… BWAHAHAHAHA!!!" and " and Of course Isa is having ‘coffee with friends’ at Reeky’s bed" were among too many numerous favorites to count.

There was a split second where Sebas seemed to choke on his tears and I just about lost it. He completely drew me in once again. I once again wondered what on earth these children think about when they need to enact these heartbreaking scenes.

And as the comments note, Nando was also having a wretched day. I felt so badly for him.

"Mama Bear" was fierce and on fire. And, as much as I want her with Diego, it was clear that she and Fernando are reigniting the sparks (not that the fire was ever really quenched to begin with).

The dress. We know this is going to be a disaster - how long will it be before maniacal step mom discovers it's existence? She is going to do everything possible to hurt Ana and the fact that it hurts the children in the process will simply be the icing on her rancid cake.

Excellent comments this morning.

Marta, thank you, thank you.

Diana

Marta,

Thanks so much for this thorough and wonderful recap. You were on fire -- much like our favorite Nana.

Great comments all the way around. I just have to add that Isabela is such a parasite that she ordered Reeky to get her some breakfast! Can this woman do nothing of aid to anyone?

So many plot threads, so much time left. Just hard to know what direction this will take. We still have the bombshell for Fernando regarding Ana's pole dancing, but you have to wonder increasingly whether he would care.

I'm still in awe over Ana's pole dancing. My only other experience was Maria in LQLVMR and there is no comparison. Ana's dancing is more like a swan dance or ballerina on a pole. Won't it be great if Diego could help her get another job?

Thank you so much, Marta! Loved your attention to detail, especially for the Ana-Isa confrontation.

Nanette, if Yolanda pretends to be Ana's mother, I'm afraid that Ana will weaken when it comes to her conflicts to the hellish duo. For her family is the most important thing, after all.

Daisy, I'm wondering how much we have to wait until Fer sees Isa for what she truly is, too. She's not even hiding her bad temper, anymore, it's almost like she's begging for Fer to see her.

Marta, I hope this will be a Carita de Angle type of story, too.
Ana and Fer can get married by episode 100 and then we can have another 100 episodes of them just trying to deal with the crazy kids.
This can work and if the show stays successful I don't see why they wouldn't do this.

I for one was SOOOO glad that Fernando got to see the dress before anything happened to it... (that's what i was afraid, that he would not even get to see it) and also he got to see how excited Ana was about it... it was truly a labor of love on Ana's part to do this for Alicia, whether he was lying or not when he said Alicia woudl love it is totally immaterial. Now, even if Isa sabotages the dress, Fernando has seen it and knows what it looks like. And if Alicia doesn't like it, he might try to soften the blow (we can only hope) on Ana and Luz. (he said 'lo hicieron' so he is aware Luz helped out quite a bit).

Awesome Marta. Thanks for the conversation detail.

Something continues to bother me. Nic, Fernando & Diego decide on their own the terms of the relationships and discuss the women among themselves, believing they know what's best for the unfortunates. Don't know if they believe Jenny and Ana incapable because they are poor or incapable because they are women.

Yomama - "It's 9 o'clock on a Saturday the regular crowd shuffles in"

Luz - mommy belongs with me

Fernando - happy wife unhappy life

Jenny - who died and put you in charge

Juan - I'll take hand me downs, Nic

Ana - "just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down in a most delightful way"

Isabela - maybe time to change horses

Sebastian - superheros do exist

Ricky - I must be living right

Lots of talking this episode, especially quick bet. Isa and Ana, so kudos and much thanks for this amazing recap of it all!

I would hope that Ana would get a DNA test, like she did with the last 'mom' prospect to make sure.

Yomama would be really evil to claim to be Ana's mom and know she isn't. That would put the nail in the coffin of her for me.

Reeky's scenes with his dad are unwatchable. Actor obviously good with the slime but not real emotion.

The dress for Alicia looks too long to me. And it looks like it could fit Ana. I wonder if Alicia turns it down, she might wear it herself?

Ana's pole dancing amazes me. I wish I had her strength. If she was giving classes I'd be the first to sign up.

Do we know how many episodes this show will have? I was hoping 180 but has it been extended to 200? No good can come of that.

tofie, i went to lunch chuckling with your ...
Ana: "just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down in a most delightful way"

Thank you, Marta!

This was such an aggravating episode for me. I'm disappointed in Ana. I wish she had called Isa's bluff and told Fer about what Isa did to Sebastian. Fer needs to know. They're his kids. I know she thinks she threatened Isa into never messing with the kids again, but I don't see any reason Isa would stick to that. Also, slapping the mama in the face is not going to hurt the baby! Nor, I am sure, has a baby ever been injured by blue paint on its mother's hair. Why do they think a pregnant woman must be coddled so much? I mean, there are limits, sure, but she isn't a delicate soap bubble.

Also annoyed at the way Nico just decided it would be best for Jen for him to break up with her. Dude. She knows how old you are. She wants to marry you anyway. Also, you talk about her being chained to you for the rest of her life, but don't you mean the rest of YOUR life. Which, quite frankly, is not likely to be all that many years. Chances are, she'll still be young enough live out much of her life perhaps with a second husband her own age after you've kicked it.

I also hate in telenovelas when someone has lost the ability to speak and the family and caregivers don't give them another way to communicate, like a blinking system or something. Encreepy's dad was obviously trying to say something. Of course, I'm sure Frique would not care even if he did understand. But also, does he really think Fer managed to give PapaWolf an embolism?

Luz was delightful, as usual, and yes, I think she is learning a few things about tricks from her brothers. But she's more clever, so hers are more effective.

I'm glad Fer asked Ana to stay at the house again. Still annoyed that it didn't occur to him to provide her with a car, and a driver if she can't drive, when he expected her to stay at her own house but be at the mansion late in the evening and early in the morning. I don't think Jen will miss having her sleep disrupted, either.

Isa is definitely not trying to hide her selfishness anymore. First her bitchy "what NOW?" when Luz started coughing (impressed Fer could hear that from his room), and then when he was struggling in the kitchen and dropping things and she stood there and did nothing to help, just whined about how the chaos was keeping HER awake.

Ana needs to be careful to avoid ever being near Isa and any stairs. I wouldn't remotely put it past Isa to throw herself down the stairs and blame Ana, and then milk the tragedy for attention and material goods.

Marta, of course I can't take credit from Mary Poppins. It's amazing to me I still remember as a child my favorite aunt (she was childless and I in awe and wanted to look & be like her) took me to see the movie when it was first released and still remember bits of the songs.

Julia, ITA with pretty much all your points... i also think Luz's pranks work better because she is the irresistible angel of the house and 'she can do no wrong'.
look how she has her dad eating right out of her hand...

I liked how Fer dropped the whole basket of silverware on the floor, then put them all back and only washed the spoon he took to use for Luz's cough syrup. I assume they all ate breakfast with utensils that had been on the floor, since Manuela and Bruno wouldn't have known they had been dropped.

I also liked how Ana called Isa "your concubine" directly to Fer. Also how when Fer said that Isa went out for coffee with friends, Ana said "she has friends?"

I don't understand how Fernando thinks mooning over Ana and trying to touch or corner her is actually doing something about how he feels. So he let her move back in and got her a new uniform, what else?

Sebes being so upset made me upset. Isa more than just an annoyance, she's psycho nut dangerous.

That scene where Luz got so excited about Ana staying seemed ad libbed to me. It was great.

I thought this TN was going to be a long 180 eps. Now it's going to be an excruciatingly long 200?! I like it well enough, but am having a hard time seeing where their going with this. I hope they do what others have suggested and get Ana and Fer united against their enemies for the last half of the TN.

Do people who stutter, stutter when they think?

For a high-powered business executive, Fer sure is slow to process information and make decisions. So, now basically everyone has told him that marrying Isa was a mistake, that they don't need to be married for him to take care of his child and what kind of life would it be for the kid anyway, if the parents are miserable? And he agrees. He admits that he is in love with Ana.

Soooooo...what's your plan, man? He needs to be more definitive, rather than halfheartedly supporting Diego's and Ana's relationship while always trying to get as close to Ana as possible and doing NOTHING about Isa. He needs to make a choice one way or another instead of vagueing around all the time. Like, he could decide he'll wait until the baby is X months old, then demand a divorce and work out a custody agreement. Isa can threaten him all she wants with disappearing with the baby, but he has to know that he has the means to control that risk. He could hire P.I.s to track her, threaten to cut off all financial support to her, heck, just buy her off to give up the baby and leave. He must have noticed she is NOT maternal.

And then he could tell Ana what he's decided, and ask if she'd consider waiting that long and then giving him a chance.

Create a light at the end of your tunnel, dude!

nanette, yes that scene might have been ad libbed...

good question about people who stutter... hmmm... i guess if stuttering is a physical issue they would not stutter in their thoughts, but that is just my guess.

I like your suggestion, Julia... but remembering how Ana had agreed with his decision originally, to give the baby a family, i am not so sure she would agree with his flat out confronting Isa about the baby and making her choose the money over being a mom to her baby... especially given Ana's background and how hard it has been to find her mom. Ana knows even if Fernando gave Isa half of all he is worth, Isa would not spend it on the baby, which is whom Ana would be concerned about. And Ana knows that it would be tough for Fernando to see a child of his only periodically.

Wonderful recap Marta, I can't imagine how I would have done if I had to recap that argument between Ana and Isa. Not very well, it was way too fast and way too much slang.

We better not have Nando sliding in school because of his Ximena problem.

I'm willing to bet that Isabela assumed the kids would just like her and she wouldn't have any problems with them. She's quite clueless about other peoples emotions.

It didn't occur to me that Isa could sabotage the dress that Ana made. Yikes. But I agree that if she did do that, Fernando has seen it and knows what it looks like. So if she does sabotage it, I would assume she would alter it in some way, but not ruin it. Maybe make it real sexy and cheap looking?

Am I the only one who can't wait for Fernando to tell Isabela that Ana is living in the house again?

Isa is so clueless about children, she probably thought that a. one or two syrupy babytalk coos from her and they'd fall into line and behave like invisible child robots, and b. Fer would consider them as irrelevant and dispensible as she does, and would be happy to isolate them with a nanny in a far wing of the house and never see or talk to them or let them take up any time he could be spending with her.

I think it has come as a real shock to her that Fer has any involvement in his children's lives. She thinks this is because the nanny is incompetent, not because a father SHOULD be taking care of his children even if he has hired help, too, for the times he can't be there.

very good point, Julia. I agree. esp the Fernando AFTER he met and interacted with Ana and watched how she handled the kids... and she made him realize how much his kids need him to be INVOLVED. The Fernando prior to Ana or even while Fanny Sr was alive might have been a bit closer to what Isa expected... i would not say EXACTLY what she expected, but certainly not as involved as he is now.

My dear, now grown, nephew stuttered terribly as a child. With the help my sis and her hubby got him after he was adopted, it got much better and now is very clieht except when he gets excited or nervous. He did an interview on the collegiate website when he got his first coaching job in Lacrosse and it was much more evident than when he had just visited me for the holidays.

But he did tell my sons and I that he doesn't think that way. He dreams and thinks clearly, it's just in getting the words out that the stuttering occurs. He said that's what would be frustrating...brain is working faster than the mouth can keep up.

200 Episodes??? Really. I've yet to be able to find the actual number noted anywhere. But darn, that doesn't bode well. Luz should be in college then by that time (LOL)

Daisynjay: The writers will move the story 7 years forward, but like in LQLVMR, everyone will still look the same, even the kids!

Luz will be in college, but Ana will still be the nanny, she'll still be trying to decide between Fernando and Diego, Jen and Nico will still be planning their wedding, and no one will have murdered Doroteo yet.

It always amuses me when shows do time jumps and it's like no one had a single conversation with each other during the intervening months or years.

LOL and Fernando will still be carrying Luz around on his arm... and Luz will still be sleeping with Ana... and the twins will still be sleeping in those super boosted high beds... and Sebas will still be crying... and dancing hip-hop in hiding from dad.

You guys slay me...but you know what, you're probably right and Fer still won't know Ana pole dances and she is still paying off the debt...we could go on.

Frankly, I would hate to lose little Luz all grown up, so maybe we just drag out the angst and pregnancy and keep things only within a year or so. My only hope is Sebas, who has turned out to be a good little actor, finds a new hobby in that time and Ana stops having to wear those ridiculous dresses and heels as her "uniform". Who's Fer kidding with those skin tight dresses, even if she does like them. Hate the clicking heels as she runs around.

Thanks Marta, what a great recap with excellent translation of key conversations. Very well done.

I'm looking forward to finding out for certain whether or not Yolanda is Ana's mom. I'm fairly certain that she is. If so, now not only will she have to win Ana over, but also us, which may be much more difficult.

Poor Nando is really entangled in a dreadful web. Too bad he didn't cut his losses early on. I don't see this turning out well. Ximena is simply too mercurial.

I'm still puzzled about why Ana has not considered that Alicia has more than likely already made arrangements to get a dress (a very important detail I would imagine) for the ball.

Victoria, in answer to the question you posed late earlier this week, I try to find something to like and enjoy about each of the characters in every novela. I think that my support of the bad girls stands out a bit because they are generally more despised here than any other group. I suspect the fact that most here are women may have something to do with that. Also, generally I find the bad girls (especially the crazy and bad) more fascinating than the often helpless, tremulous, and ingenuous good girls. It doesn't hurt that they are usually gorgeous as well. I especially have a fondness for those naughty mischievous girls who feel they have a claim (often legitimately) on the main galan and often cross the line of propriety in satisfying their obsession.

The new uniform is just as ridiculous as the old one. Not sure why Ana likes it. Maybe red is just not her color? But seriously, woman, get some cute comfy flats! You run around dealing with children all day and night!

I would love a time jump of a few months so Isa's pregnancy ends sooner, but I would hate any jump that meant replacing the actress playing Luz. I love her.

I love the mischievous spitfire girls, and can't stand the sobbing doormats, but don't like anyone who is deeply mean-spirited and deliberately hurts others, especially when the victims are particularly vulnerable. Also I HATE HATE HATE outrageous senses of entitlement, like we see in Isa. That hits a very sensitive trigger in me.

Why hasn't Ana talked to Alicia about any of her plans for the party, and what she is planning to wear? Does she think Alicia was going to wait until the morning of to go shopping or something?

Maybe because Ana hasn't take Alicia shopping for a dress herself, and Alicia hasn't told her that Isa did, she thinks she doesn't have one yet.

I'm surprised it hasn't even come up in conversation that Alicia went shopping for a dress with Isa. Poor middle child Alicia, she really does get overlooked.

At the moment Alicia seems to be the happiest of all the kids, she likes Isa and Ana, and has her party to look forward, a new crush in Gus...Ana has her hands full with everyone else!

Ana should be the most worried about Alicia! She likes Isabruja! And disGustavo! Clearly she is of unsound mind! Fer had better find a shrink with space for three new patients.

I really, really want some of the older people to go to the shrink, too, so that we can have hilarious scenes like those in Un Gancho al Corazón.

Is this TN going really slow, or am I just being Little Miss Cranky Pants because I don't feel well?

It's dragging a bit. We could use more forward plot motion.

Julia: do you think the pacing is slow because there are so many eps? Do longer TNs have a tendency to creep along?

Talk about slow, they just mentioned either in this episode or the previous one that Alicia's party is in 10 days.

I think some producer/writer teams are just more content to let the same few plot points spin out too long, rather than packing in more plotlines and side bits with whatever number of episodes they have.

The worst I've ever seen was Cuidado Con el Ángel. It started out strong, and was pretty good for quite awhile. But then it suddenly got a big extension they hadn't planned for (due, I assume, to the popularity it gained from its strong start), and the original writing team wasn't having it and quit. And then, it seemed like rather than hiring new writers they simply recycled the same few pages of script for several months. It was ridiculous.

Nanette, sometimes novelas turn us all into Little Miss Cranky Pants. At least we have a good understanding support system here to blow off steam!
J in O

i have found that the one novela that stayed strong all the way through was recorded completely before the first episode was aired... they had chosen to leave it short and no matter the popularity it stayed that way. that was Corazon Salvaje '93. with Eduardo Palomo and Edith Gonzalez.
other great novelas have been extended and the extension more times than not has dipped the quality of the whole.

Marta:
I loved Corazon Salvaje '09 , I love Eduardo Yanez, especially with his long hair. Don't know if this one was extended or not.

I have CS '93 on my must watch list and it us on YouTube!
