Mi Corazon Es Tuyo - Earthquake Size Shake-ups

Cap #74
Bruja Bela arises from her bedroom lair long enough to view the happy family scene below with Ana.  She swears to destroy them all.

Later Jenifer and Ana discuss Jen’s honeymoon while Don Nico warns Don Fernando off Ana and possibly stealing Diego’s girlfriend once again from him.  DF swears that he loves Ana and is crazy jealous but also that Estafania was never truly in love with Diego.

Jen’s wonders if Ana truly loves Diego, but Ana is still in love with DF and cannot answer directly.  However, Ana says, just because he’s getting a divorce doesn’t mean he can expect her to come running at the snap of his fingers!

At the university, Laura is running her mouth off to bored DJ Guy from the quinceañera bash as Ximena rushes over and bitch slaps her twice, then accuses her of causing Nando to become angry with her.  (Can’t say she didn’t deserve at least one, but two??  That’s gilding the lily a bit,  isn’t it Xi?)  To make matters worse, she humiliates her by telling the whole crowd that Laura’s from the wrong side of the tracks and just lost her scholarship.  (A big “noooooooo!” oozes from the crowd.)

Fanny runs into Super Gotha de Edith while signing up for Sociology classes/taking the entrance exam.  Edith was appropriately attired for the season, shall we say?  They squabble.

Enrique’s daddy dies.  He goes berserk.

(PSA re: ADHS) Ana goes with DF to the principal’s office and finds out that the boys suffer from ADHS.  They both do further research on the topic.  We learn that they have a hard time believing that stimulants with actually have the opposite effect on kids with this condition.

Diego is going through the music store’s old records trying to find who bought that guitar from him.

The kids leave with Bruno to visit the sick kids in the cancer ward again.  They return later than expected, and with the new guitar for Ana.  She is touched and tearful.

Nico and Jen argue over her wanting to return to work at El Chicago.  She wins out.

Johhny gets an unexpected visit from Don Rot and his goons at the house.

Bela talks with Reeky and gives him her respects over the death of his daddy.  She later visits him at home and learns that Fernando had cancelled a huge contract for aluminum and such, accusing him of manufacturing and selling very poor quality product.  It ruined the man’s reputation, his wife left him and he then had a disabling stroke.  That is Reeky’s reason for venganza and his plan is to kill Nico now.

That evening, DF visits Ana’s room to discuss the twins’ problem and they end up exchanging longing looks at each other till she does the “canecela, cancela” thing and tells him he’s not going to make her fall that quickly; that if he’d listened to his heart the first time this story would be entirely different, and then she races out of the room.  In the kitchen she continues telling herself that he’s still married anyway and that Diego is her chosen novio.

Bela goes looking for DF in the library.  He hands her their divorce papers just as Ana comes in with her special tea.

Fanny tells Leon and his mama about their new opportunity to get the taco stand up and running again.  (I didn’t catch how.  –A loan?)

Back in the bedroom,  Yomama scolds Bela for not having the sense to at least get knocked up with the right man’s kid!  Cuz, once Fernando finds out whose kid it is, that generous divorce settlement will go right down the toilet!  Bela’s answer is, uh-gain—Shut. Up. Yo-low!  If anybody should hear then the whole thing comes tumbling down around them!  And FYI, no, Reeky doesn’t know it’s his kid and that’s the way it’s gonna stay!

Fanny has a chance to put Mau to bed after he wakes up from a bad dream about an earthquake.

Ana’s going to bed just as a sleepwalking Don Fernando shows up and jumps in.  He rolls over, nuzzles her and conks out again.  She’s unable to get him out of there—not that she really deep down does, Viewerville is sure, or maybe she’d have gotten Bruno to give her a hand…..  He supposedly “wakes up” long enough to ask her if she loves them and then falls back onto the pillow again.  Ana gives up the fight and crawls in.

Dana catches Johnny and Edna making out in the club dressing room and a cat fight breaks out.  Johnny stops them by telling them that he’s actually in love with a third woman.  Jen just happens to be outside the door and overhears by accident.  He walks past her and apologizes for the truth of the matter.  Dana and Edna decide to stop fighting over a hopeless situation and become friends.

Nando suddenly realizes while studying/reading his emails/messages  that it’s Xi’s heavy drinking that is messing up her medication and nilling the curative effects.

Fanny comes in late and races into Ana’s bedroom without knocking to find Ana and her dad wrapped up together in a cat ball on the bed, fast asleep.

Comments:
Jardinera, thank you for the excellent recap. I really enjoyed it.

I am not feeling sorry for Laura since she has been bitchy witchy from the get go. If she would have been smart she would have steered clear of Nando and Ximena. A big yawn on this subplot.

So, Doroteo wants his money from Johnny? Any surprises here? Think not. Maybe if Johnny brings more girls in to be hired, Johnny can save his skin by supplying "talent." Who knows what other behind the scenes services Doroteo offers. Another yawn.

I liked Fernando and Ana at the school conference. Since I think too many kids are medicated for and overly diagnosed for ADD and related conditions, I liked that Fernando is going to take his time and consult with other experts. Kids can just be squirrely and not have a "disability". If the twins just had some consistent discipline from Ana and Fernando . . . things might be different.

My favorite scene was Fernando sitting straight up in Ana's bed and asking her is she loves him and tellng her only he can make her happy all while still asleep. Very cute.

Jarifa

Jardinera, rich in humor and great fun.

"Ximena rushes over and bitch slaps her twice...(Can’t say she didn’t deserve at least one, but two?? That’s gilding the lily a bit, isn’t it Xi?)" and "Don Rot" were among my favorites.

I thought Isa had told Enrique the baby was his, but since Isa told Yolando he didn't know, I was wrong on that point.

Mau is so sweet - one of the best things here. Also enjoyed the kids presenting Ana with the guitar.

Enrique seems more of a caricature - the emotions and timing are off.

I am very afraid for Nico. I hope the writers intend to keep this family intact, dysfunctional though they may be.

Diana

Scary, just in time for Halloween: Lisardo trying to act heart broken and distraught over the death of his (Enrique's) father. That guy is a horrible actor when any type of emotion is called for. UGH!

And poor little innocent baby - the product of Freaky and Dicky!

I agree that Lisardo's acting angst is off...
also agree that the scene where the kids presented the guitar to Ana was very moving and sweeeeet.

Jardinera, loved your description of the tangled picture of Ana and Fer in bed at the end of the ep...
SO are we supposed to assume this is the effect of the valeriana + tea Ana gave Fernando? i was not laughing, more like WTH...

Ana is right... and if she were to sleep with him she would know she was 'doing it' with Fernando not quite in his senses... so that could only mean bad things later... esp with the storm coming up.
I understand that Ana has dignity and that Diego does not deserve to be stood down twice... but it would not be totally Fernando's fault since Ana did give Diego some hopes... it is up to Ana to be honest, first with herself and then with everyone else... and if she is denying herself and Fernando that chance, it will be up to 9 folks suffering for it.

Good work, Jardinera.

I doubt that these two adorable boys have ADHD and I'm glad that Ana and Fernando aren't accepting this without more proof. They do need consistent discipline which will require patience on both the adults' part.

Laura definitely crossed a line by going after Nando. When I first saw this actress her resemblance to Diana Bracho made me wonder whether the network will start casting her as villanas, so is this the preview of the rest of her career?

When Fanny mentioned Luz to Mauricio and he said that he thinks Luz is pretty, did anyone else think they will have a playdate?

Oops; forgot something:

Isabitch didn't tell Enfrique that her fetus was his; she only said it could be. He doesn't care.

Reeky might care now that his dad has died... one more thing he can rub on Fernando's face the day of the reveal...
1. i am giving you a scandal you never dreamed of..
2. your nanny is a pole dancer by night at a questionable antro
3. oh by the way, guess what? you trashed your happiness for nothing, that baby is mine!

but actually it was Reeky who first asked Isa if she was sure the baby was Fer's as soon as he learned she was pregnant and this is WHY Fernando felt he should marry her.

Thanks for the great recap!

I think Reeky might care more now if the baby is his.

Scene with Ana and Fer was fun but all I could think about is how it would affect Diego. Here he is spending his time looking through old files for her and she's not doing enough to kick Fer out of his bed. She could have moved to the guest room.

Some people who previously never cared about having children change their minds when a parent dies, but I don't see even that level of humanity in Freaky.

However, Isabitch could use it as blackmail when he goes ahead with his plan. She will get on his case about how the financial problems he intends to impose on Fernando will impact her so he will owe her because the baby is his. He won't like that.

I also wonder how these two will ultimately turn on each other.

We also can't be sure how she will react to his plan to murder Nicolas.

yes they will turn on each other... she now knows his secret (why he is on vengeance against Fer mode) and he knows her big secret that might take Fernando's generous divorce settlement terms to dissappear into thin air... Isa cares only about money. And the danger for her is for Fernando to learn the truth. Reeky cares only about ruining Fer... and he would totally enjoy letting Fernando know about the baby being his... those two goals are opposite from each other. And the biggest loser could be Isa... Reeky has not done anything illegal (so far) that could be proven easily, other than messing Margarita's stand, sending the company finances into a down spiral and threatening Leon.

If the baby dies, so does Isa's safety net. She might give Ana a hard time for a while with accusations... but ultimately when her secret is out, she will be DONE.

Thanks, Jardinera! Big episode with a lot to cover!

There is NO WAY the twins have ADHD. Are we supposed to suddenly believe that they do? If anything, they are a little more calm and focused than most kids their age. They are mischievous, yes, but that is NOT the same thing as ADHD. And is a paper fight with the entire class involved supposed to convince either us or Ana and Fer that these two have a problem? It made it look more like the school staff wants to drug all the kids into submission for their own convenience. Very icky.

Enfrique, on the other hand, should definitely have a psych evaluation. His hulking out over his father's death was not super believable. And the contract was cancelled because the aluminum was low quality? Yeah, that's on your dad, not Fer, to run a better business. I am hoping that pops left a note saying he was departing this life willingly to escape his horrid son.

Laura and Ximena are both the worst. Also, aside from GothGirl and her nasty attitude, the public university looks way better than the posh school. That courtyard was beautiful! I hope that by switching schools Fanny can find some better new friends.

Ana didn't try very hard to avoid the appearance of evil with Fer in her bed. Did she not realize he was drugged by her tea? Also, can she give me her recipe? I have trouble sleeping. But she definitely could have gone to the guest room or slept in Fanny's bed or on one of the many sofas. I wonder what Fanny will do once she picks up her jaw from the floor.

Jardinera, so awesome

"(Can’t say she didn’t deserve at least one, but two?? That’s gilding the lily a bit, isn’t it Xi?)"

"Edith was appropriately attired for the season, shall we say?"

"Fanny comes in...to find Ana and her dad wrapped up together in a cat ball on the bed, fast asleep.

I see why Nic wouldn't want his wife working at that club and while there is validity in Jennys point of wanting to support Ana, why work the nights Ana doesn't.

To me it was always idiotic Ana date Diego the brother of the man she loves just because he loves her and it was encouraged by Nic. Nic needs to butt out, this is a woman not a car.

Luz is a living doll and when she started up with the clear, clear, clear and snapping her fingers like Ana over Fernando's head it was so cute.

Ricky - prison road gangs pick up aluminum cans

Fernando - "I didn't know if it was day or night, I started kissin' everything in sight..."

Ximena - somebody get a rope she's poor

Gothina - you can't read poor in a book

Mau - I could accept her as a parental unit

Twins - supplying adult Angst in Double Doses

Nando - consider a restraining order

Diego - meanwhile back at the ranch

I predict Fanny and Goth Girl become bestest buddies.

Nanette

Thanks Jardinera for the recap. Suddenly seemed a better episode than the one I watched.

I will admit to be in the minority, but I didn't care for most of last night except for anything to do little Mau and the kids giving Ana the guitar.

I actually didn't care for the Fer/Ana bed scene. In another context, I might have bought into the humor of it. But for these two, first and foremost, she has an open-door policy with the kids. Thank goodness it was Fanny who walked in. Second, Ana should have just got cold water and thrown it at Fer to wake him up, or at least grab a blanket and go sleep with the girls. What got me the most was that she sort of leaned in for that kiss before Fer knocked out the first time, which means to me she may not have been adverse to some canoodling. If that's the case, the line she gave Jen about not running to his arms is baloney and she needs to realize what she almost just did and end things with Diego. The guy deserves way more than being strung along.

I may not like Laura, and her moves on Nando were "mean girl", but Ximena's physical attack and then "outing" her to her schoolmates was overkill and wrong. She's out of control, I'm sure she's been told by doctors about the issue of mixing the drugs and alcohol. I'm so disappointed that this is the "love life" that our sweet Nando has to deal with.

Even Isa's radar should have gone off with Eeky's sob story. What if Fer's refusal for the contract was based on fact. Bet that's what Dad was trying to say.But Isa should suspect that if his motivation is to take Fer down...what would that mean to her and her cash cow? Harvard grads indeed.

As for the twins, my first reaction is no to trying to paint ADHD. They don't seem to have the same tendencies at home as was shown in that ridiculous classroom outburst. Maybe it's the writers not really knowing how to showcase these issues they keep wanting to instill in the characters. I think these two little darlings are a tad lacking in real discipline as well and not putting all of it to the disorder.

Daisynjay

Why does this story need TWO Barrio Girls With Huge Chips On Their Shoulders? Do we really need Reinbow Brite AND Edeath the Zombie? Is there going to be enough storyline in "beyotches who hate Fanny just because her family is rich and make all sorts of untrue judgments about her" that we need two people to play it? And it looks like Laura is getting in on that action, too, although she is more tidily dressed and groomed.

It was a little funny when Laura was blathering to disGustavo about skiing in Aspen. Somehow I'm guessing she hasn't really taken posh vacations like that. She's like Marisela in PEAM, except her cover was just blown.

Info about cast changes below - spoilerish

Thanks, Jardinera. Great recap with just the right asides and commentary.

It has all been said but I would like some of that tea when I can't sleep. Wow! It sure put him out.

I just saw this link about cast changes. Have no idea if it is true.
http://entretenimiento.terra.com/tv/novelas/jorge-aravena-graba-primeras-escenas-de-mi-corazon-es-tuyo,6b915bb47e269410VgnCLD200000b1bf46d0RCRD.html

OOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be a treat! No idea if it is true, but I love Jorge Aravena! Though I would prefer that he be an added character, not a replacement for our Diego. I want our Diego AND a new man on the scene! The article does suggest that this would be a new character, but I don't like the mention of his character replacing a gap in the cast with Diego leaving. There's room for both! I have enough love to go around!

Ax Johnny if you need to get rid of someone!

Thank you, Jardinera, for another great recap!

Julia and Daisynjay - I also did not like Ana's behavior with Fer. She committed to a relationship with Diego; therefore, her yielding to Fer. makes her dishonor her commitment. I find no humor in her snuggling with Fer while Diego busts his butt pouring himself into their relationship and searching for her mother.

I reeeeally do not want for Diego to get his heart broken.

BTW. Was Diego only coughing because of the dusty sales records? Or do you think something else ails him?

I'm sick of all these rumors. For once let's get some real facts and confirmations.

I'd say more but that would put this in the realm of gossip, which we don't allow here.

So he's joining the cast as a pediatrician, which means we'll see him soon. With Enfreaky's intentions I see a plot turn nobody will like.

Ok, Mati, this cracks me up if it is true and sure gives me a confirmed take on what happened in PEAM. Love Jorge A and when he was booted from PEAM, if it wasn't for enjoying Erick E., I would have bailed in full on the TN. Maybe there is a shift in the one character in our TN that they can't move his plot forward logically and he'll leave town (if he knew what happened last night, I wouldn't blame him) and then bringing someone else later to shake things up. Osorio maybe trying to make amends for the mess FC caused on the PEAM set.

Daisynjay

I was seriously peeved when he was booted from PEAM. I would have thrown out FC instead, star or not.

I guess I wouldn't mind HUGELY if Diego just got over Ana, met someone else who was his real One True Love and who had no interest in his brother, and they left town together for amazing worldwide adventures. I just don't want him losing out again and leaving depressed or dying or anything.

Ecuador--I think we're all getting spooked for Diego. I wondered the same thing. It was dusty, but gees, that kind of coughing or was it "what I am going through for you Ana?". Then he would jump on his bike and we get nervous again!

I just want a happy end for him no matter how soon or far down the road. I'm seeing some troubles brewing with he and Ana, and my guess is Diego would bolt if only for awhile to recover. It will be sad to have the kiddies not have their cool uncle hanging around. Fer won't be sorry. So Diego may not be gone for good is what I'm hoping but we're getting in another new "love" interest. Betcha that means something implodes for Ana/Fer and my guess is it may turn out to be Chicago.

IF all this is true... but another hunk is never a bad thing. Honestly, I think Eeky if he plays his hand has to be short term in this TN. Just my feeling.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay

I am all for Jorge A... loved him in Querida Enemiga. and had seen him earlier in others. love his voice and tender demeanor.. But i dont want Diego as a character to dissapear. let Jorge be a new character. and if a pediatrician, let it not be in a crical health issue subplot. Fernando and Ana don't need more of those. enough with two or three so far in the tn.

Ooh, ooh, I want to see "Jorge A" too--but have no idea who he is...

Jardinera, thanks so much for the great recap. I always appreciate the snarky wisdom you dish out with your comments.

Nanette: thinking the same thing, Goth Girl("eDeath") and Fanny the Fresa going to be besties.

EquadorBound: having the same suspicions about Diego's cough. Please don't let him be headed for a sanatorium in a dry climate.

Julia: thanks, I totally missed the connection between DonFernando's sleepwalking and the herbal tea.

Tofie: Loved loved loved your ref to "Love Potion #9"!

Also, was I dreaming, or did Xime look like she was going to take an overdose of pills? Oh wait...does anyone care?

J in Oregon

Didn't see the ep yet, but what I understand from the recap, could Jorge A's character be introduced as the "second opinion" that Fer and Ana want to get on the twins?

Excellent recap, Jardinera. It gave me complete coverage for the parts I missed when my son was watching a football game.

Nanette,
I had the same thought. That Jorge A. (one of my favorites, too) could be treating the twins. All of this assumes that the timing works. Mexico is ahead of us. I suspect that Jorge A. is in fact joining the cast but the rest of it, the why and when, is surely more speculative. I guess that we will see soon enough.

That's what I'm hoping: that he'll be the pediatrician who evaluates the boys in a "ordinary misbehavior is not the same thing as ADHD and does not require drugs" PSA. And then he can hang around and be everyone's new bestie or something. Hey, maybe Ana could ditch both Diego and Fer and move on to a nice doctor who doesn't have a lot of baggage or drama.

Or maybe he's Leon's daddy. Or Jennys could end up with him after things end with Nico (they seem to be setting up some conflict there). Or Manuela could finally seal the deal with someone.

Maybe Isa takes out the first doc for knowing too much and Jorge A. now has to handle her!

Those kids don't need to lose another family member. If Diego leaves the show at least have him still be living and please don't kill off Nico! I don't want this to go the way of PEAM and become crazy.

He's a pediatrician, so I suspect he is the one who will see the twins. Who wants to bet he tells Fernando that they eat too much sugar? The way Manuela has cooked for this family it sounds like everyone got what they wanted no matter what.

He's attractive and his character will probably be likeable but he's no sub for Diego. Osorio is an ass for this.

Is it definite that Diego is leaving?

Discussion between Nico and Fernando about Ana:

Nico: You can’t steal Diego’s girlfriend… again

Fer: But I love her, plus I saw her first

OMG! Enrique showing emotion!? No wait, that’s just bad acting on Lisardo’s part. Wow, I am impressed I never saw such great acting bad acting! Someone give this man an Oscar!

Ana’s Tea: have trouble sleeping? Do your silly decisions keep you awake at night? Problem solved! Just take one cup of Ana’s Tea before bedtime and you’ll sleep like a rock. Ask your doctor today about Ana’s Tea! Possible side effects: Hallucinations, possibly seeing people’s faces in the tea, sleepwalking and ending up in your true love’s bed. Do not take this tea if married and in love with someone else or while operating heavy machinery or raising more than 3 kids.

Fanny: OMG! You two are playing twister and you didn’t invite me!?

Diego: Cough, cough

Store owner: Ooh, I forgot to tell you that the box was stored in the same room where that long lasting, very contagious virus that adheres to dust particles was accidentally spilled. My bad.

Mau: Luz is cute!

Fanny: How cute! Maybe you’ll marry her! Oh, wait. Is there a law against marrying your step-aunt?

Zerobela: I’ll destroy this family; I’ll grind them to the ground and just to show that I am a nice villainess I’ll do it with one arm tied behind my back.

Fanny: You’re studying sociology? So am I!

Edith: Nooo! Now I get to suffer with the fresita. The rich have no idea of what the masses go through. Go back to your posh world and stop exploiting the poor huddled masses! Do you have anything to say for yourself?

Fanny: Yes! We’re going to be besties! I’ll study at your house and you can come to mine!

Edith: Ok! I can live with that!

At the kid’s school:

Staff: The twins have ADHD.

Fer: Not so fast!

Ana: What’s ADHD?

Ximena: Sock! Bam! Uff! Thank you Laura! My depression is now cured… oh and BTW… (yelling) Laura is a pobretona! She’s sooo poor she only has one Gucci handbag! Now I really want to be cured really really fast, I I’ll go home and finish off the bottle of pills today!

Luz using her magical powers to cheer up Fernando: Fernando thinking: OMG, Ana’s mini me!

Edna and Dana pulling Johnny apart: Please girls, pull harder! Much harder!

Edna and Dana: He doesn’t love us! What the huey, let’s be friends!

Jenny listening to Johnny: Awww! Maybe if Nico had not existed I would have fallen for you. Thank God he does exist!!!

Fernando looking at Ana: Is there any way that you could be more obvious? Just remember: You married the other one and you are stuck with that forever.

Fernando divorcing Chabelia: Easy come easy go, it is only marriage

And finally a note to the captioneers: “Chabela” is spelled with a “b”, not a “v”

Diet could definitely be an issue if they are acting up at school (although I still haven't seen any evidence that their behavior is abnormal or indicates any medical issue). Manuela does cater to each family member's whims, and no one seems to be talking to the kids about balanced proper nutrition. When we see them eat breakfast, they are usually having fruit, juice, and white flour pancakes or pastries with syrup or jam. That's a lot of sugar for one meal.

Salvador - You are one funny guy. I love your sense of humor!

The twins weren't behaving any differently than any of the other out-of-control kids. Why'd they get stuck with the ADHD label? Frankly, the teacher's inability to control her classroom caused that kind of chaos.

Thank you, Jardinera

I'm really not liking Ana and Fer sharing all those close moments - just like most of you, all I can think of is Diego. There he is, moving Heaven and Earth to find her mom and Ana is cuddling with Fernando in her bed.

I have no clue what they plan to do with Diego, I really hope they don't kill him off, but if they do, that would forever tarnish Ana and Fernando as a couple (because we're all pretty sure that if he gets into an accident, it would be because of those two). That's the only thing that makes me hope that he'll be alive by the end of the show.

Get a feeling that a little part of Diego, at least, is trying to "buy" Ana's love.

Again to all the hard working recapped who give us such wonderful stories to relive each episode -- thank you.

A request to please add Episode Numbers to the heading. It would be very much appreciated.

--recappers

Thanks Jardinera.
I was worried when I saw Jenny listening so sympathetically when Johnny was declaring how much he loved her to the other two girls. It made me worry that the writers would have Nico come to a bad end. No!!!

Denise

"Get a feeling that a little part of Diego, at least, is trying to "buy" Ana's love."

Nanette, I agree. I also feel that he is trying to buy her love. Diego knows that she does not love him, so is hoping that if he does enough food deeds for her he'll win (buy?) her heart.

"I was worried when I saw Jenny listening so sympathetically when Johnny was declaring how much he loved her to the other two girls. It made me worry that the writers would have Nico come to a bad end. No!!!"

Denise, my spidey sense tingled with the same thought. As yo uso wisely say - "Nooo!"
