Oh No, Bro'! Say It Ain't Sooooooo!!!!!!!

Cap. 60

Our worst nightmares have become reality if this be truth.....

Lo Del Nuevo:

Johnny’s walking the streets on his way to the bus stop, mooning over losing Jennifer to Don Nicolas--like he ever had her to begin with…..  Moon-Boy trips over a stand up cardboard cutout of some famous model/actress and now falls in love with her.  (Is this guy certifiable or what???  What idiot falls in love with a cardboard cutout?  Only the kind of clown with scrambled sk!t for brains—the Televisa kind.)

Ana gives Diego her reasons for believing Yo Momma is her momma: the rare song Yo was croaking; the fact she wears cherry red nail polish; her being from Ecatapec where they believe Ana is also from—despite it having a population of a million or more people, as Diego is quick to remind her; her having had another daughter prior to Isabela; and the fact that Yolo plays the guitar.  (Works for me!)

Luz breaks in on the convo and Ana’s reminded that they all have to get ready for the quinceañera blowout right away.  Once Ana and Luz leave the room, Diego calls up the new investigation officer for Ana’s case and gives her the lead on Yo-low.

Viewerville learns that the model cutout is the centerfold for the current Mexican equivalent of Playboy when Johnny accidentally drops the magazine.

Fernando sets into motion a plan—having to do with the dress Ana made for Alicia--for the evening that’s certain to make Ana happy.

While Jens is getting ready for the party that night, she and Don Nico discuss Manuela as the surrogate mother for their baby.  Who more trustworthy than she, asks Nico?

Back at the manse, everybody’s ready to go to the party, but Nando still hasn’t returned from his visit to the psych ward yet.   He’s been there practically all day.  They’re worried he won’t make it in time.

Alicia makes her grand entrance at the top of the stairs in her designer dud’s for Daddy; Fernando whispers to Fanny his plan to surprise Ana and she’s all in.   Afterwards, Alicia comes down the stairs to familial cheers.  DF tells Estefania’s portrait how lovely their daughter now is.

Don Ferd mentions they need to talk along the way to the party about “platonic love”.  Not necessary, says Ali.  Bela appears and congratulates her on the proper way to make her “social debut”.  Don Ferd says that’s not what’s important about today.  (Of course it is.  Shut.  Up. Fernando.)  Ali brags that Bela really knows about hot fashions and helped her pick this dress out.

Mani and Ana hear the conversation from across the room.  Ana notes Bela’s shining faux snake skin attire and remarks that they need to get the Vibora some clothes to put on, cuz with that outfit she’s totally naked and showing her true self.  (Viewerville does a quick high five with the screen and chuckles.)   Just then Ana takes a phone call from Nerdando, who’s at the hospital and crying over Ximena’s cruel rejection of him.  (Sorry, but my violins’ strings are all broken just now.  Will a pipe organ borrowed from Phantom of the Opera do??)  Ana tells him to come home and they’ll discuss it.

Jens tells Nico a surrogate mom has to be trustworthy and a close friend/acquaintance.  “--Nobody more so than Mani,” he reminds her.

Johnny finally makes it to the writers meeting at Televisa and takes part.  During the meeting Ex-Porn Model turned actress (like half of Telerisa’s stable, it seems) makes an unexpected entrance as she needs to speak urgently with Sr. del Prado.  When Johnny sees her in the hall afterwards, the two hit it off and she gives him her phone number.  (Did I hear him lie about not having his limo nearby?  Lying little rat!  Hmmm.  Makes me wonder what she’s probably hiding…..)

Nando returns home in tears about his rejection.  Ana lends her shoulder and then talks him into going, to distract himself and because his sister would never forgive him otherwise.  (Would somebody trying giving this kid some tough love already re: this Xime thing?  No wonder the kid’s such a milquetoast and sees no reason not to wear those nerdy-birdie bowties.)

It’s party time and we get lots of dance moves from Stinkopo and DisGustavo.   First though, there’s the press picture (society photos) to be taken of the family.  Ana need not apply….. We also get a dance program surprise from the kids, Ana, and Daddy DF.  It ends with a dip and near kiss as a photo finish, literally, between DF and Ana.   (Whoah!  Jorge can really make a love scene smoke and sizzle—still!!! ) Enrique has his handy cell camera at the ready and takes a snap.

El Quickie de Ricky snaps the near kiss for use later to cause a scandal or some sort of trouble for Ferd.

Everybody in the family has a chance to dance with Ali and she and Seb make their peace with each other.  Briana still has a major crusher for Nerdando and drags him onto the dance floor.

Bela is of course scandalized by the dance number and its embarrassing finish, but nobody but herself seems to be at all surprised or bothered by it.“—Why is it that nanaca ends up everywhere, spoiling everything for me and between Fernando and me?”  Out of nowhere Jens appears to add her 2 centavos’ worth.  “—because the kids adore her, which is more than can be said for their step-mother!!”  Bela dismisses her as a stupid fourth-rate waitress who doesn’t know enough to keep out of what doesn’t concern her.  Diego notes the cat fight about to begin and races over to keep Jens from going ballistic again and ruining the party for everyone.

Yo-low and Brujella sneer a bit more and leave to finish their discussion.  Her gripes to Yo-low get a “I told you so!  You wouldn’t make friends with his kids!  Do something about it!!!”

A bit later, Jen’s seeks out Bruno and Mani to thank her for offering to be her surrogate.  Bruno has a tiny hint of a problem with the idea, but he’s willing to sacrifice for Don Nico and all that he’s done for him.

Xi and Fanny’s other friend chats with Nerdando: bottom line, Xi has the moo-la to spend on all sorts of doctors.  What she doesn’t have is the desire to let herself be helped.  This goes over Nando’s egg-head.

Gus announces the family’s surprise dedication to Ana.  Out walks Ali in the dress Ana made for her.  Ali thanks her for the love and time that went into the making of the dress and for the love and care Ana’s given her and all the kids.

If Bela was hot under her missing collar before, after this she’s steaming!  She argues with Ferd over Ana’s participation and being mentioned in everything like she’s been tonight, not to mention (but yes, now that you mention it) his participating in that dance like he did and making them look foolish in front of her friends.  After all, he’s an executive of a huge company, not a clown in some cheap circus somewhere!  He tells her the dance was Seb’s idea, not Ana’s as she suspects, and that as for Ana, it’s because Ana is a part of the family!  And oh, BTW, she is moving back in with us.  “--Now’s not the time to argue this with you!  I am here trying to enjoy my daughter’s quinceañera and that’s what I’m going to do!!”

Nico and Jens discuss the pro and cons of getting married at Malinoco.

Fernando notices that both Ali and Gus are missing from the party.  Ali has secreted him away to some corner to throw herself at him—which she does—just as Ana and DF arrive.  They get on Gus’s case for taking advantage of a fifteen year old.  He swears he didn’t and moves off.  Ali admits to Ana that she forced herself on Gus because of her big crush on the guy, but that he really isn’t into her.

Qique and Bela argue over the value of the photo sans kiss.  He tells her to get one with them really kissing then.  She figures that she can—as long as he’s deposited the money into her account.  He says that he has.  (Hmmm.  Embezzlement Alert????)  She gets up and yells over to DF that she’s bored and going home.  He says fine, that they’ll all come home later by themselves.

Jens and Ana head for the ladies’ room so she can tell her her news about the search for her mother.   Bela decides to stop in at the ladies’ room for a last minute tinkle, but she stops in her tracks when she nears the door and hears Ana listing all the reasons that she thinks Yo-low is her missing mother.  The possibility of that realization is giving Ana  (and Viewerville) gag attacks.  “—That would mean that I’m sister to my worst enemy!!!”  At the same time, Bela begins sobbing silently to herself, now in shock.  “—Oh no!  Say it’s not sooooo!!!!

What a great title. Now you have me wondering what the nightmare is. I haven't seen the episode yet.

Thanks for posting a comment starter Jardinera.

When Isa learns that Enrique's plan will directly affect her own plan, she'll throw the biggest tantrum we have yet to see.

I will say that I think this way over the top party for a 15 year old becoming 15 years old is ridiculous.

Qunces are massive "over the top" affairs in our local Mexican-American community which is economically basedlargely on agricultural labor and construction (which had been in a 6- 7 year slump and is shakily recovering). If this smallish, more or less impoverished ex-pat community can support the quince tradition, I fully believe that Alicia's little affair, thrown together in a few weeks, is middle of the road for the girls at her school. (well she does get extra points for having the hot band/DJ/hip-hop crew of the moment).

That picture that Enrique took is hardly incriminating. They never even kissed, and it's clear in the picture that they were dancing and he dipped her. So what?

Yet another TN cliche scene, Alicia kisses Gustavo, he 'can't' pull her away, with Fer and Ana walking in on just the right time to see it. It's a twofer.

I noticed that not only Nando can't dance he was holding his partner with the wrong arm. Wonder if this is because he is left handed? Also Pablo in Gata did the same thing.☺

Here we go !

Jardinera, this was fresh and fabulous.

"Moon-Boy", "Yo-low", and "Sorry, but my violins’ strings are all broken just now. Will a pipe organ borrowed from Phantom of the Opera do??)" were among my favorites.

The party was fun overall and Isa being left out plainly showed she is the one who is not part of the family. Ana clearly is.

It's obvious that Bruno is very uncomfortable with Manuela being the surrogate. For heaven's sakes, why doesn't he speak up? Would they all plan on raising the child as one big, happy family? I'm not sure Manuela has really had time to think about and carefully consider what will happen.

I know that Isa followed the script when overhearing Ana and Jen's conversation. I would like to have seen an honest reaction scripted rather than simply the obligatory horrified face. Would she have cried? Been angry? Or a mix of the two. Mayrin (who has been doing a fantastic job) deserved better.

Diana

Jardinera, thanks so much for this brilliant recap! It is a gem and much appreciated. I was cringing in embarrassment for Fernando when he almost kissed Ana at the end of the dance, then looked up to realize his private moment had been viewed by 200 people.

Diana--the eavesdropping moment of Isabella was played for laughs, but to me the search for Ana's mother is one of the serious notes in this TN and deserves better than the cheap comedy treatment the writers gave it. However, I did enjoy seeing the range of comic-horror playing over Isa's face.

I also thought Manuela's reason for offering her vientre to have Jen and Nico's baby was pretty thin. Because Nico helped Bruno?
Wow, I think Manuela needs a 48 hour cooling-off period to think this over...

Jardinera,

Spicy and smart as usual. You really captured the inanity of this novela and the sweetness at the same time. The scenes of the kids on stage were adorable and you are so right about Jorge. He's a little thicker in the middle but he sure can deliver the moves and the moves!

Mayrin has done so well with this unfortunate woman and probably deserved to have a little more range with her reaction to the news but she did a great job with what she was dealt.

I can't stand that Ana is supposed to be older than Isabela. Again, Mayrin is cast as a character much younger than her age and with her natural beauty, she doesn't have to be! But I guess that is the world of Hollywood and Televisa.

I am loving PM in this role. Diego has become such a great character, always willing to be in the background to help everyone out. As an actor, he certainly seemed to enjoy dancing with the kids (who knows in reality, but it has to be a challenge and fun at the same time to work with so many children).

Jardinera. Really, really good.

"If Bela was hot under her missing collar before, after this she’s steaming!"

The best scene for me Friday evening was when Diego swooped in and grabbed Jenny.

I hate Isabela but absolutely love how Mayrin is playing her, goofiness and all. Love it when she is mad and does her little stomp and screams (more like a loud growl), then gives herself kisses in the mirror. She is stunningly beautiful.

Juan is a worthless creep and the more I see of him the less I think of Ana. This is the guy, for years, she tried to get to settle down and start a family?

I get Bruno not taking a shine to Manuela being the surrogate. Their relationship is just started and no one has even bothered asking Bruno if he would like to have children with her, sooner rather than later. Yes, it's her body and she can do with it whatever she likes but perhaps Bruno should find a woman that is not beholden to their masters.

Thanks Jardinera.

I agree with all that I think it's a weak reason to be a surrogate. Maybe she sees this as the only way to experience pregnancy. And I could see why Bruno would not be happy about it. You just start a relationship with someone and she starts out pregnant? No way.

It's hard enough imagining Yo-low as Bela's mommy and now we have to get used to thinking of her as Ana's as well tell? In the same league as believing a Nico-Jen hookup. Beanie overload time!!

Not many comments about how the writers handled Ana's dress for Alicia. I thought it was probably the first gesture on Fernando's part that showed sensitivity for Ana, her feelings, and love for the kids.

I have thought of Fernando's gesture about the dress but I dismissed it as something he selfishly did expecting Ana to give him another look. (yes it served other purposes too particularly for Luz)

Good work.

I have no ill thoughts about Fernando's motives in the matter of the dress. Alicia deserved to know that Ana made it and Ana deserved the credit for it. There could be fallout because Isabitch will feel upstaged. Too bad.

Jardinera, thank you for a wonderful recap. It was very enjoyable!

Maniela as a surrogate? Not too sure . I wish Manuela could have experienced having her own child before becoming a surrogate unless she does not want children of her own. Nico and Jennifer would be better off following the suggested guidelines for a surrogate.

What a fun quinceañera and what a fun surprise for Ana seeing Alicia in ner dress. I loved the dip with Fernando. It was great seeing Isabela being a pissy face and leaving.

Alicia needs to cool her heels and slow down a bit. Way too giddy and not thinking much with Gustavo. Someone needs to have a real long talk with her aboit the birds and bees.

Jarifa

I don't think ill of Fernando but it looks like a (desperate) guy that knows he has messed up big (he told Leon as much) and wants to try anything. For Fernando this is outside the box along with the dancing.

When I see Diego do something for Ana it looks natural.

The dress "fix" the writers came up with was a good compromise IMO. I had no 2nd thoughts myself re: Fernando's ulterior motives. I had the feeling he wanted to avoid any awkward situation for Ali and Ana, but also to insure the time and loving effort didn't go ignored. It was "the decent thing to do."

Loved this episode and thank you Jardinera for all the great details.
Manuela as surrogate just can't happen - too many tricky complications there so please tell me that it is just a passing idea.
Ditto for Yolanda being Ana's Mother. She is sooo CRASS.

Maryin is just superb in this part playing it with so much disgustfulness and humor. So happy that Fernando demonstrated his care and consideration for Ana's feelings, finally, and gave Ana the great surprise of Alicia wearing her dress. I'm not really interested in Ximena's psychological problems so wish it was only touched on for Nando's part. Hopefully, Fanny will get a wakeup call on Enrique and let him be hoisted by his own ptard!! With Isabella right behind! How many more episodes to go??? Anyone know?

When Fernando first saw the dress, Ana told him that the twins and Luz had helped her with it and that they were excited for Alicia to see it, so I think he also did it for the little ones. Although he is a pretty selfish man, in this instance I think it was all about Ana and the kids.

I thought the dress change was the perfect solution. Isa got her dress in all the pictures, and Ana got to see Alicia in her dress and hear how much Alicia appreciated the gesture. The fact that Isa still had a problem with it is par for the course for Isa. She's extremely immature and selfish. She has a problem with everything.

I really liked how the dress was dealt with. Fernando showed good sense, sensitivity, and initiative, and the whole two-dress situation was resolved in a way that made sense and didn't involve any absurd TN contrivances. Since I'm referring to the resolution of this problem, I'm excluding the absurdity (Ana assuming Alicia would just wait for a dress to descend from the heavens) that set up the situation.

Me too, I am so relieved the writers did not stoop to any dress-trashing scenarios as so many of us feared. It was a bit of an anticlimax but better all around.

I've not seen Carmen Salinas in other shows but she just looks too old to be playing the mother of a "young" woman like Isabela. I think Mayrin is in her early 40s but looks 10 years younger. Cermen could more easily be playing her grandmother.

“Such a pretty dress,” said Aphrodite. “Ana has many talents.”

“I think the Muses were kind to her,” said Apollo. “She's not had an easy life. That woman can't be her mother!”

“I agree. She deserves better. Lately I'm wondering which of those men is the better man for her.”

“You did neglect Fernando when he needed you.”

“Yes, yes, I know. Diego was a lot of fun, though. I think it's Ana's turn to know that.”

“Fernando isn't going to like that.”

“I know. I think he should take tango lessons in the meantime to step up his game.”

Jardinera,

Your comment on the reformed porn-star or adult model or whatever becoming the new Televisa starlet made me wonder how much of Johnny's wanderings have been as much or more about tweaking the home office as about his particular story arc.

Does anyone who follows the fan mags and maybe watches some non-TN shows know whether other Johnny at Televisa scenes play as parody or quasi-inside jokes?

Thanks so much for detailed explanation of Ana's remarks about Isabela's true self showing.

Chris in Fl

Jardinera and others: I agree about the way the writers handled the dress question...
Fernando involves Fanny who is probably still Ana's biggest fan in the house... and noone better than Fanny to tell Alicia about the dress to get Alicia on board with changing dresses and thanking Ana as a surprise...
I agree that Fernando planned it this way to highlite what Ana and the young kids had done... and also to give Ana the credit she is due... and in a way that did not involve any other pranks by the small kids and brought Alicia a bit back into Ana's fan club... even if she still also is a fan of Isa's...
Totally agree that Isa overacted especially when this happened at the end... and her nagging to Fernando showed both her selfishness, her money thirst and her immaturity... yikes! YoMama will wish Isa were more like Ana.

btw, the photo picture plan by Enrique is... if he can't get Isa to catch Ana and Fernando in the kiss act, he can use the picture he just got of Ana and Fernando and get a photo of Ana kissing Diego and do a photo touch up to merge the two and get a picture of 'Ana kissing Fernando' to cause the 'scandal' he promised Linda (the stockowner) to get Fernando bumped off the Prez chair. This is what Reeky proposed to Isa... he would get her some money and she would get him a picture of Ana kissing Diego.

Excellent and entertaining recap, Jardinera. I was pleased that Ana's dress for Alicia made an appearance at the party without any ugly drama. The family dance was great, contrary to my expectations.

Johnny, we wish we hardly knew ye. Tired of seeing you try to get a career, a woman, etc. etc.

No ill will toward Carmen Salinas, but having trouble seeing her as Ana's mother.

Urban, your little broadcasts from Olympus are always very entertaining. Thanks!

btw, regarding her suspicion of YoMama being her mom, Ana should let DIego get someone to investigate more in depth before she continues to 'spread the news'... this is not New York New York after all.
is Ana's list of 'evidence' enough? probably for her it is since she has anticipated this discovery for so long ...

all in all, it was a lovely quinceanera party... now lets see what is Fernando's reaction when he gets the bill... probably won't make too big a scandal since everyone enjoyed it... but Isa is really digging herself a deep hole... she continues accusing Ana and calling her 'Nanaca' in front of Fernando when even what she is accusing Ana of is a false accusation (she thought the 'dance surprise' was Ana's idea...)... this is CERTAINLY not winning her points with Fernando. And she won't like it when she finds out Reeky's plan is directly going to trash her plans to get Fernando's fortune... since Reeky's plan is to destroy Fernando and reduce his bank account balance by many zeroes.

that dress fit Alicia perfectly!!! i wonder in real life how many fittings Alicia would have had to get for it to fit like that. and like we suspected, the color on it was much better for Alicia than Isa's dress... besides being MUCH MUCH more age appropriate.

all those stares to Ana by Fernando when Alicia came out with the dress and seeing Ana's reaction... i bet Fernando was repeating silently all those compliments he had given Ana at the restaurant (the chocolate cake evening) about her being so incredible, extroverted, expressive, easy going... etc.
BESIDES Ana being so talented...

I am so glad Fernando gave Ana her place, yelling to Isa that Ana IS part of the family, even when he went along with keeping Ana out of the family picture.

Isababy certainly isn't great with long-term planning, is she? Of course, she has no clue what Freaky is planning. Any money she gets from him now will not set off the exponential loss he is planning for Fernando.

I hate the thought of this but is anyone else picturing them living in Ana's current house after that happens? This has happened before in novelas.

The good thing about that is that Fernando has not got his kids used to getting real fancy stuff... (for the most part... i dont believe Fanny requested a car as fancy as Fernando got for her after Nando had the other one totalled, and the kids have their ipads and laptops... but still, they could be much more spoiled.

Yeah Marta: Fanny could be driving a Mercedes or BMW like 95% of the private school kids do here in Charlotte. It's over the top!

the other thing Fernando has done right is that none of the kids are snobbish about their social/financial status... Fanny has not shown any prejudice at school nor has Nando or Alicia nor have we seen them behaving snobbish toward the staff at the house or at the hacienda, as compared to Isa and Reeky (remember how he referred to Leon? and the previews show he will have an eye-opener moment with Fanny) and YoMama.

Thanks, Jardinera! Fantastic line: "Sorry, but my violins’ strings are all broken just now. Will a pipe organ borrowed from Phantom of the Opera do??"

UGH, why did the episode spend SO MUCH TIME on skeezy Johnny's nasty pathetic exploits? Can't he just disappear already? Can't wait for the porn starlet to make an absolute mockery of him, though I'd prefer that happen offscreen and we only hear about it in an offhanded comment from someone else.

Ana and Diego should have sneakily gotten a dna sample from Yolo and hotfooted it straight to the lab on their way to the party.

I didn't particularly like the family dance aside from Fer's ridiculous-looking dancing, but anything that pisses off Isa is fine by me. I also liked that Alicia loved it. A lot of kids her age would find it embarrassing.

Don't understand how Enfrique is going to get a scandal out of that photo. If everyone who was there and witnessed it in person (which seems to include a lot of business associates because those are the sort of people Isa would think it important to invite) thought nothing of it, how is the photo going to be a big enough bomb to do any damage?

But if that is enough for a scandal, I CANNOT WAIT until all the society people/board of directors/etc. get wind of Isa and Reeky's tawdry affair!

I'm glad Fer finally was proactive about something and figured out how to get Alicia to wear Ana's dress. Also glad that he wasn't having Isa's nonsense and refused to join her in stuffy snobbery.

Julia, I could not agree more on the Johnny screen time... i wish he would just go away... period.

regarding Enfrique and his plans with the photo... that is the problem. they saw what happened here... but now he is going to take Fernando's portion of the photo and put it over a photo of Diego and Ana kissing, probably in a different location with compromising 'clothing'/bedding and then create a scandal with a totally made up 'encounter' between Ana and Fernando. The family would know it is not true, but with social media you never know how far people would go with just a suggestive scenario/picture.

Ditto. Who knows how Freaky will photoshop that picture. The phrase moral turpitude comes to mind.

I'm going to have to upgrade the software in my beanie to believe Reeky can do a good enough photoshop job to fool people.

HEY! Leon is a graphic design professional! Well, almost-professional, but he's had lots of classes! Surely he can spot the photoshop evidence and point it out to everyone!

True. Unless Freaky pays him enough to come to the dark side.

Isadummy, I doubt seriously any of the executives will look at Fernando dancing at his DAUGHTER'S QUINCEANERA and think OMG WHAT A LOSER, HOW SILLY, HOW LOW CLASS etc.

It would probably endear Fernando to them, just like his devotion to his family endeared him to that elderly woman investor at the beginning of the show.

Maybe I misread something but it seemed like Fanny's other friend was looking at Nando with hungry eyes...like now he's an object of desire because somebody else wants him.

Anon,
that's the issue, it won't be a photo of Fernando dancing at his daughter's quinceanera... who knows what background Freaky will put in the photoshopped version (he will probably pay for pro services for this, it won't be an amateur job).
about the third girl (short shoulder length hair) that was trying to get Nando's attention... remember seeing the 'Love don't cost a thing' or 'can't buy me love' movies? it is sort of 'follow the crowd' and if the guy is in the viewfinder of the most popular girl, the other girls will suddenly develop interest in him too...

Fanny's other friend is Laura, and she's always been nice as far as anything we've seen. Nando would be far better off with her almost certainly, but I couldn't tell if she was interested or just being nice to him.

Thanks Jardinera. As usual, your recap is excellent and very amusing. I hope that your husband is recovering well from his recent surgery.

There's a huge plus side to Yolanda being Ana's long lost mother. Imagine how valuable her support for Ana can possibly be. Let's face it, Ana is quite a bit more lovable than Isabel. If Yo elects to sell out Isabel, she has a wealth of useful information, including the dubious paternity of Isabel's fetus, Isabel's plan to fleece Fernando, as well as her disdain for Fernando's children. I think it's a good thing.

I'm glad to see that most of you have as little enthusiasm for Manuela bearing Nico's and Jenny's child. What a bad idea too hastily agreed to.

I preferred the designer dress, but agree that the resolution was very satisfying. Speaking of dresses, I thought that both Manuela's and Ana's party dress were very attractive.

I'm interested in Johnny's excellent adventures. I'm expecting a pleasant payoff at some point.

Carlos

now, if only Nando would get a makeover and a mature look (like Patrick Dempsey went through between the time he recorded 'Can't buy me love' and 'Greys' anatomy')... we can dream (including Briana), can't we?

Laura looks a little too much like Diana Bracho for comfort. I expect to see them cast as relatives soon.

I would also like to see Johnny disappear. Ana doesn't need Peter Pan when she has 7 kids to take care of.

I know it's Manuela's own body and her decision, but if she is serious about a long-term relationship with Bruno, they should at least have a discussion about their own family plans before she goes ahead with carrying a child for Nico and Jen.

If Manuela and Bruno do want to have a kid or two...well, Bruno isn't getting any younger himself, and I'm not sure how old Manuela is, but she may not have lots of time left for healthy childbearing, either. Taking several months for the treatments, then the pregnancy, then recovering from having the baby and enough time to be ready for another could impact Manuela's ability to have her own children, if she wants them. Plus, with her personality, I'm not sure she could go through all that and not get attached to the baby. I think she would have a really, really hard time giving up a child she incubated and delivered.

At the very, very least, Nico and Jen should insist on going through all the details with Manuela with a therapist and a lawyer first.

I kept looking to see if Ricky was dancing with Fanny and never did. I did see him dancing with Fanny's friend Laura.

Fernando has a lot of making up to do if he is going to move Ana. The dress thing is not enough, good start, but not enough. He did, after all, send Ana home on his wife's insistence though he wisely reversed the decision. There will be hell to pay from Isabela for that and the dress.

Julia, I completely agree about Manuela. She might have difficulty giving up a baby especially if she didn't first have one of her own. I'm sure any doctor they talk to will say the same thing, since surrogates (at least in the USA) are usually women who have had a child or two of their own.

I also suspect she doesn't have that many childbearing years left and Bruno is likely to be older than Fernando (or why would Rene Casados have white hair for this?). They do need to see a good shrink about this.

A whole psych clinic could operate for a year on just this family alone.

there are actually many inconsistencies... unless i missed some episode where this was righted...
at first when Isa came home from the shortened honeymoon, Isa was all over Ana threatening her that Ana would become her 'assigned maid'... but then it seems Isa has eased off on that plan... why?
why did Isa change her strategy with Ana from forcing her to be her personal slave to letting Ana ignore her (fight with her rather) and dedicate 100% to the kids? did Fernando have anything to do with that? or was the 'small victory' of Isa's by having Fernando send Ana home to sleep enough for ISa to ease off on Ana? does not ring too realistic to me... why loosen the leash on Ana? ... esp after Isa learned about the Ana/Fer accidental kiss?

I agree that Fer will have 'hell to pay' but on the other side, Ana is there to watch the kids, not to be Isa's particular slave. I doubt Fernando would back Isa up if she insisted that Ana is there to 'serve' her. He hired Ana for the kids and for the kids only, not to cook, clean or be a maid for anyone else... then again, Isa is Fer's wife... and Fer can't totally take her 'lady of the house' privileges... sigh!

I think Isa let go of the "personal slave" thing because she can't stand Ana so much that she doesn't ever want to see her, even to make her do her bidding. One day of it was enough for her to make the point of her "superiority".

The bottom line is unless Isabela leaves Fernando (she may when he is busted flat after Ricky gets done with him) or it is disclosed the child is not his they will remain unhappily married. Ana is trying to move on with Diego and Fernando should sit his wife down and truly clear the air about everyone's roles and responsibilities, not spring things on her like the twin pranksters.

I wondering about the dynamic at the office now Leon will be back. Leon will be a big problem for Ricky and cannot wait to watch him spoil it for him.

So this show is ending in February 2015.

Can anyone imagine MCET lasting until Feb 2015?

I am unable to wrap my head around how the writers will be able to come up with a coherent storyline and side stories to keep the audience enthralled for four more months!

The show is receiving high ratings here in the US and other markets. Let's hope Osorio reconsiders his supposed decision to fire PM because one could assume that the high ratings are, in part, because of PM's character.
