Mi Corazón #80: Dog Days At Mansion Lascurain; Bitch Linda’s Advantageous Power Gain
Oh the horror-- chewed up shoes!! “--¡ANA!!!” Ana and the kids try hiding Siete in the twins’ bedroom. Nando states the obvious: Don Fernando will kill Ana for bringing home that dog. (In unison, class. Cancela! Cancela! Cancela!)
DF continues sneezing and yelling at her alternately. (Okay, so the guy is so obtuse he’s apparently never heard of allergy shots.) “—Salud!” Siete tries taking matters into his own hands, however, and after racing out of the bedroom and down into the living room, he stands up and begs for mercy from Don Hielo. (Premio for El Siete! Bravo!! Premio! Premio! A Puppy Premio!) The kids and Ana are all in torment. “—But he’ll die back out on the streets, living in an alley!” (Gr-r-r-r-r!)
Across town at El Chicago, Don Nicolas gives his new missus the bad news: forget the baby buggy. “—I am estéril.” (Dunno that it's such a bad thing. I'd worry about the health of a kid "engendered" with ancient sperm, myself. You've got the trophy wife. Leave it at that, Pops.)
He’s been condemned to return to the street--and the whole house is in tears.
Down the main drag a bit, El Qwikie and Bitchy Bunned Babe de Linda celebrate the long awaited Fernando Lascurain scandal that will break in the news the next day. Sex and champagne to strains of “Oh Sole Mio” --a definite winner every time… Not.
DF calls a family meeting. The Family must accept that he’s The Man in this manse; that he’s the guy giving the orders, period. However, he wants his kids happy and has no option other than to give in to the supplications of El Señorcito de Siete. And, thanks to Bruno, he now has antihistamines. So, he hands Ana a dog collar and she agrees they’ll all abide her schedule for canine care. Yay!!! Siete stays!!!
Isabela looks down on the scene and with YoMama de Yo-Landa. All she wants is to muzzle the little furbag.
Later that evening, Diego stops by for a quick visit. He and she discuss what a great father DF is considering there are seven. Diego doesn’t figure he could manage it. Ana understands. “--Well, but one or two, tho’, right?” No, not really. Kids are and never have been in his game plan, he admits. Suddenly Ana gets flashbacks to Johnny dragging his feet over having kids and settling down. Ana’s now got to be worried about committing to another man who dawdles while her biological battery-operated baby-making clock ticks down.
Back inside the house, Don Fernando, Ana and Manuela learn that Jenifer and Don Nico no longer have surrogate mother plans and why.
Upstairs at bedtime, Fannie discusses her problems adjusting to her new college and major and why. Ana explains about the biological baby-making timeline and how Diego doesn’t want to enter into it. Fannie says since he loves her he’ll certainly change for her. (Mighty thin ice, my dears. Oh and how…..)
The next morning Ana finds DF in the study and brags about her doggy schedule. Somewhere along the line he sees the screen on the computer and sees a picture of him and Ana kissing each other and the headline about him having an affair with the kids’ nanny. It starts showing up in all the papers and news outlets. DF and she know it’s a lie and DF suspects Linda is behind the scandal.
Speaking of La Reina del Roma, Linda and Reeky, having spent the night together, are now reading the newspaper and grinning from ear to ear. Reeky smiles triumphantly to himself. “—Fernando Lascurain, you fall this very day!”
Diego calls Ana for an explanation.
Ferd arrives at work and learns from Bety there’s a stockholders’ meeting at 10AM and that the scandalous photo is now in all the morning newspapers.
Back at the house, not only have Nando and Fannie seen it, but Seb and the twins also. It comes complete with its own hash tag. “--#Fannie’s gonna love it!”
El Furbag de Siete has a chance to get back at Isabellow the next morning when she comes to gripe at Ana about the photo and accuses her of having had an affair with Ferd the whole time. Siete grabs Bellowing Bella’s negligée and then pees all over it and her. (Throw that dog a treat—make that a whole baggy of treats!)
Now that Laura has received her first check from Enrique and re-registered with the college, she is able to flaunt her good luck in Nando and Ximena’s faces. Xi rightly accuses her of sleeping with somebody as the only means of finding that kind of money in so short a period. Laura gives back as good as she gets. “--Xi, did you remember to take your meds?” (Xi needs to get a life unless some night at the witching hour she wants to turn into another bitter bitch like La Linda ése—and IMHO she’s not far from it.)
Meanwhile, Fannie and Edith learn they are taking a photo journalism class whose new professor, one blue-jeaned babe named Natalia Medel, just happens to be a beautiful past acquaintance/girlfriend of Tío Diego. Seems she recognized Fannie’s last name and took a moment in class to clarify the familial connection.
On the other side of town, Edna the Porno Babe tells Johnny she’s leaving and wanted to say good-bye. (Boo Hoo. Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.)
Back at the office, the board meeting begins. Ferd confronts Linda about her charade. She gives him a triumphant and evil smile.
Over coffee in the kitchen, Diego admits that the photo in the paper could be a trick, ginned up or altered somehow. What’s the problem, asks Diego, since he’s getting a divorce now anyway? It’s going to have repercussions at the company somehow, replies Ana.
The first order of business back at The Company is Linda’s complaint to the other members that Fernando has jeopardized the company’s good, wholesome reputation and should be thrown out immediately. Ferd says it’s a means of defaming him and a fake. He tells her in front of the others that he won’t deny having had a relationship with his nanny, and also that it’s a fact that she’s been wanting to kick him out of the presidency for a while now. He formally accuses Linda, then, of having ginned this scandal up to do just that. She repeats to the other members that they must vote to throw him out immediately to save their reputation. Ferd says no need. He’s quitting.

At this point I think both Ximena and Laura are annoying. Where is Alicia's cute friend?
Fer is giving up without a fight? QUE que what? Isn't this the company that his father built? I hope he's only giving up on the presidency, he still has shares, right?
Totally agree about Nico - dude, you're 70, you're granddaughter is old enough to have kids.
I'm glad that Ana remembers that Jonny didn't want kids, either. I had forgotten that this was a big reason for their breakup. Fanny should not give advice where babies are concerned, she doesn't have the maturity to read the situation and give the type advice that Ana needs. Anyway I think Ana knows what she has to do, deep down, but she knows.
I couldn't believe when Fer quit without a vote. I cant help but think its a strategy on his part...maybe knowing Linda will hurt the company and they'll ask him back.
I'm a bit disappointed in the photo. I thought it would be a bit more salacious.
Well Diego's friend has arrived right when Ana finds out Diego doesn't want kids. I just find it hard to believe that Diego didn't know how much she wants them.
Now, will Linda hire Enrique? That will tell Fernando everything he needs to know about him.
So Fanny's new teacher is Diego's jungle love. How coincidental! Not!
Doesn't Diego know by now how much children mean to Ana? Maybe that was a sticking point for Estefania too.
"(Dunno that it's such a bad thing. I'd worry about the health of a kid "engendered" with ancient sperm, myself. You've got the trophy wife. Leave it at that, Pops.)" I couldn't agree more!
"(Mighty thin ice, my dears. Oh and how…..)"
So, now we know why all the talk by Fernando of the time he spent at the company, looks like he has already been contemplating leaving. What happens to Leon?
Diego, now has two strikes, no kids (he never once told Ana he wanted them but an assumption by her)and Fanny's professor & Diego's ex lover, Natalia, surreptitiously appears. I've come to endear Diego but never thought he the guy for Ana, independent of her feelings for Fernando. It was just assumed by Diego, Fanny, Jenny & Nic that if Fernando not available by default she belonged to the other brother.
Oh, I'm sick of Nic.
Juan - don't worry, we saw you
Fernando - whow, this ain't Brad cheating on Jen
Isabela - ain't "some little woman standing by my man like Tammy Wynette"
Laura - what? I just close my eyes & hold my nose for 20 minutes, already do it everyday on the bus
Diego - how did you ever get stork outta freebird
Nic - good
Siete - sure I let it fly, I smelled another dog had been there already
So not a good idea for Nick to sire a child at his age. Not to mention that the money it would cost is likely to be needed for other things.
While I don't get it, Ana definitely wants a baby of her own even with Fernando's seven and a half (Siete) so Diego can't be her endgame no matter what else is going on.
As for Fernando giving up without a fight over the presidency of the company I sort of get it although it doesn't sound like a good idea. He needs to solve his family issues first before he can save the company from whatever plans Enfreaky and Linda have for it.
Which leads me to another issue I will raise tomorrow.
I totally got why Fer decided to quit. I think he realized that this game, though not done by Lousy Linda but certainly supported by her, is now moving to a level that is pulling in his family/friends. It's not about his job performance, it's stupidly personal.As adults, he and Ana can handle it, but what if the targets start becoming his kids? No job is worth that.
Financially, he should be comfortable enough. Frankly, he should pull all his stock out of the company and get his money's worth before Eeky gets his hands on it. We just know justice will serve that Linda and Eeky will fail. Now that said, personally, I find it very sad there may be a whole lot of people hurt and possibly out of jobs because of these overgrown juveniles who can't get over themselves. but we're not suppose to worry about the background players.
So will we go all Sound Of Music and the family goes into a business together? I thinking yes?
Enough with all the babies. Jen married a man @ 70. Nothing wrong with that, but you want a family, how about adopting an older child?
Cue the future opt out for the Ana/Diego pairing. Hopefully they don't start turning Diego into a jerk before most likely pairing him back with Teach. I'm still concerned we still get Ana just tipping to falling into Fer's arms, yet having these type discussions with Diego and looking hurt. And comparing why Johnny and Diego didn't want kids--Johnny hasn't grown up yet and is too full of himself, as for Diego, he didn't have the best childhood and his life has been nomadic at best. Get why he feels that way. Fanny has a point too though...sometimes meeting the right person could make someone like Diego rethink what he wants in life.
Isa better not touch Siete. Period. Why hasn't she moved out yet?
Daisynjay
Siete is a charming addition to the cast, hope he doesn't fall prey to a Doroteo-style dognapping.
ITA agree about the anvils lining up for Fer (regarding his beloved company) and Xime ("no matter what happens in the future, we'll always have this moment to remember")
Glad the surrogate mother thing is off the menu in Manuela's kitchen. Now that they have toned down her character, I'm more interested in the Bruno-Manuela plotline.
I love that, despite all the problems and confusion, the core of familia Lascurain, padre y hijos, remains strong.
J in Oregon
Isabela says she wants to hurt Fernando too, but she's dependent on Fernando having money to finance her lifestyle, and destroying him financially won't help her either.
The young actress playing Luz sure has perfected her crying technique.
Now that we know that Diego is not up for kids right now and Ana feels her biological clock tick ticking, there hopefully can be a natural uncoupling based on that fact.
Jarifa
I like having a dog in the story, but it does bug me when it's obviously looking off screen at it's trainer for it's cues as to how to behave. I want a natural, if there is such a thing.
Linda, Reeky and Isa seem to be pulling at the same piggy bank but from totally opposite ends of the rope... i wonder when one will find out that when the other gets their way it will ruin/affect their own plans... these folks have not compared notes or strategies... will be interesting to watch them take/trump each other down by their own stupidity.
If IkkyLizard ruins the company to get back at Fernando, then Isabruja and Linda are out their beloved money and any shares that Nicole and Fer have in the company become worthless. Besides, Fer is still treating IkkyLizard as a normal, competent businessman (he'said so blind). For some reason, Fer just doesn't get it that a vulture like IkkyLizard who would go after the President's YOUNG daughter is a total wacky job. BEWARE.
What is surprising is that he is not considering the consequences of his actions.

Cue the bankruptcy --AND cue the teach seduction scene.
===========
Fannie is naive beyond belief in this show. It doesn't surprise me that Ana is explaining the facts of the fertility timeline in life, tho' the girl is nineteen and living in the 21st century.
===========
ITA that Estafania's trigger could have been wanting a family--and a large one at that. Good point!
==========
I was expecting a more salacious photo also, but I remember that this TN is just shy of Saturday AM fare......
===============
"Isabela - ain't "some little woman standing by my man like Tammy Wynette"
"Diego - how did you ever get stork outta freebird?" ROTFLOL
=============
"Which leads me to another issue I will raise tomorrow" Got me curious and curiiouser.....
===========
" Doroteo-style dognapping?" Perish the thought!!

I do agree that Teach allows for the uncomplicated and non-bitter "uncoupling" option. I rather like the idea and am over ready for it.
===============
"Linda, Reeky and Isa seem to be pulling at the same piggy bank but from totally opposite ends of the rope" ITA that nobody is thinking clearly past their thirst for venganza and will all end up cleaning dog poo off the streets for pesos if they're not careful.
Whether he has already committed murder in a past situation we don't know. However, I consider him completely capable of doing so without a hint of remorse.
After watching this tn, I find only two characters with whom I would actually like to hang out after work: Diego and Profesora Natalia. These characters value two of my top four loves: education and adventurous travel. Therefore, I hope Diego quickly ditches Ana, the screaming pole dancer, and goes for the way-better option, la profesora.
In the real world, I also suspect Edith would be one of my favorite students, capable of demonstrating higher-order, out-of-the-box thinking. (She'd be one of the cool ones who randomly stops by my office to discuss politics, art, music, or literature.) Therefore, I hope we see far more of Edith, broadening Fanny's narrow, ivory-tower outlook.
I agree with the rest of you about Johnny. He is an ignorant, smug, self-adoring character whom I loathe seeing on the screen. Note to the advertisers - Johnny trying to sell me a Sprint wireless plan has the opposite effect from the one you intended.
Finally, I have a statistics question for those of you with medical backgrounds. "Harvard-grad" Enfrique has had unprotected sex with Isabruja in a mutually non-monogamous relationship, impregnating her. He also, within the last "month," has had unprotected sex, presumably unprotected, with Betty, Tight Bun, and Laura. Given these women behave similarly, what are the statistics regarding sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)among these characters? To clarify, among people who have unprotected sex this frequently, what are the chances they all share STDs? Just wondering . . .
The idea that Enfreaky and Isabela have had unprotected sex at all is pretty astonishing in view of their alleged status as Harvard graduates but I surmise that the unplanned pregnancy was the only thing the writers could think of to force Fernando to marry that harpy.
Not sure whether Fer will actually leave the company or what effect that will have on him, but I did enjoy how blithely he pulled the rug out from under Linda Bunny. She was so looking forward to tormenting him with a forced ouster, and then he just quit with no apparent qualms or anger! How unsatisfying for her! HAHAHAHAHA!!!
How long until Nando gets completely sick of Xime but she won't let him leave? I think he's already realizing that although she now claims to love HIM, she is still the same Mean Girl she's always been. Sure, everything she said about Laura is true, but actually saying it just makes Xime look bad.
What a tame scandalous photo. Must have been a slow news day. The other board members, conservative though they may be, didn't look all that inclined to make such a big deal about it. I can't remember; did we ever find out how much of the company Fer owns? He could probably retire on his stock earnings if he wanted to, or start up a new business. Maybe a chain of pole dancing schools.
Although if Linda hires Enreeky back, the entire company could go up in smoke. And wasn't Isa going to try to work there again, too? They'll be bankrupt by Christmas.
Makes me wonder how much the male shareholders in this meeting know about her.
One last thing, now that there is the smell of adultery, can Isa try to get more from Fer, even if she already signed the divorce papers?
It also would not be in Hissabela's interest to try this, as there are so many things that could be said about her and her antics against the children. Fernando could easily get off the alimony hook.
