Hasta el Fin del Mundo #59 20141106 Your Phone was Ringing so I Read Your Mail

Pleased that his son Oliver will be good for evil!

After Peralta discovers that his son Oliver is Daniela Ripoll's tutor, he breaks out a Cuban cigar to celebrate!  His goody-two-shoes son might be good fit for the Diabolical Family Corporation after all.

Over at Ripoll, Sophia finds Daniela sobbing over Lucas.  Daniela comes clean about Lucas being her boyfriend and being bigoted against stinkin' rich people.  Now Lucas is with another girl and Daniela is bummed.  Who cares?  Anyone?

Speaking of the devil, Lucas and Miguelina return from the doctor's office.  She's got high blood pressure.  Lucas doesn't want her to look for jobs anymore.  He's going to take care of her.  She's proud of him.

Today is Alexa's first official day of doing what she usually does...absolutely nothing..., but at least she will now be the VP of Doing Nothing in a professional setting.  After Silvana, Sophia and Alexa agree that Alexa is indeed worthless, she is given an office and told that she will upgrade the companies image.  Alexa's first order of business is to call Armando into the office and flirt with him.  Patrick overhears Armando telling Alexa about the crime wave in the hood.  Araceli filed a police report about the robbery in her father's store.  Patrick says that he will double the Ripoll security staff.

When Silvana left with Alexa to find an office, her cell phone rang.  Sophia reached into Silvana's purse and turned it off.  While she had access to the purse, she figured she might as well snoop around and found Silvana's pregnancy test results.

A helpful, but blatant privacy violation

Sophia also finds an invitation to some business congress meeting.  Sophia is hurt that Silvana didn't trust her with her personal information.

Just discovered that she's the last virgin in the world!

When Silvana returns, Sophia confronts her about her pregnancy.

Has anyone seen my whip?  I left it near my handcuffs.

Sophia says:  I heard your cell phone ring, so I went into your purse, turned it off and then "accidentally" steamed opened a sealed envelope contained therein.  You know, it was the one that was marked Personal and Private!  Sophia Ripoll, do not read!  For Silvana's eyes only.  Tell me why you didn't trust me, your best friend with the news.

Silvana apologizes.  She didn't want anyone to know.  She confirms that the father of the baby is engaged.  She doesn't care.  She will have the baby with or without him.  She makes Sophia swear to tell no one.

Unbeknownst to the "best friends", Patrick also hears that he will soon be a father.

Looks excited to learn that "We're pregnant!"

After having rage session in his office, Patrick invites his cousin, Renzi, out to lunch!

I can't believe that I put the bun in the wrong oven.

Patrick tells Renzi that he impregnated Silvana.  Renzi tells him send her to a clinic and get an abortion.  Patrick says that Silvana doesn't know that he knows that she's knocked up.  If she has that baby, it will ruin their evil progress.  He wants Renzi to help him get something to make Silvana miscarry.

Maybe there was another cook in the kitchen.  Have you ever thought of that?

Renzi says that Peralta will have Patrick whacked if Sophia dumps him.  He tells Patrick that he has a chemist in him pocket.  He will ask the chemist to mix them up a little something.  In the meanwhile, Sophia must not learn about the pregnancy.  Too late.  Patrick doesn't know how Sophia found out.  She would have dumped him if she know that he sired Silvana's baby.  He deduces that Silvana must have concocted some sort of story.

Congratulations!  We are so screwed.

Detective Fuzzy goes over to Abarrotes to access the damage on the store.  Methinks that a little bit of insurance fraud is going on because the place looks worse than what it did before.  Men dressed as doctors are there collecting fingerprints behind crime scene tape.  They finish up as Fuzzy and Paco approach.  While Fuzzy is looking things over, Patrick calls to speak with Paco, but Paco shuts him down and hangs up on him.  As Fuzzy is leaving, Lupe walks up.  He tells her that he won't be taking her dance classes anymore because her boyfriend is crazy.  Lupe understands and lets him off the hook.

How droll!  The little people.

Lupe and Paco are talking when a car drives pulls up to the curb.  Greta steps out.  Paco warmly greets her with "Again!".  Greta says that she heard that he was robbed and she was worried about him.  Paco doesn't want to hear anything that she has to say.    Lupe introduces herself as Paco's girlfriend and Chava's mother. She invites Greta to attend her dance classes.  Greta apologizes that Sophia fired Chava.  Paco bellows and Greta finally leaves.  Later she sobs in her room because Paco is moving 30 years after she should have run away with him.  Idiot!

I only married his arch nemesis who stole his dreams and hid his baby from him!   Life is so unfair!

An Xlnt Treat!  You're welcome!

Anyways, Paco goes home and starts feeling nostalgic about the time when his friends and the love of his life betrayed him by stealing his life's work.  He breaks out a picture of him, Octavio, Corria and Greta and remembers the good old days.  He asks the picture of Greta why she's coming back into his life know that he has purged her from his loins.  He gets up to leave and puts the picture in a desk by the door.  Donna Reed, I mean Araceli, comes through the door after having coffee with Irma.  He tells her that he's left lunch warming for her and flies out the door.  She looks around for some bills she was supposed to pay and finds his hidden picture.  Araceli sets the table with the picture facing his plate.  When Paco returns, he goes off on her from searching through his things.  She explains that she was hunting for bills.  She demands an explanation.  Who is the woman in the picture.  Paco tears up the picture.

Sophia gives Silvana the rest of the day off to rest.  Silvana visits her brother at the rehab center.  She tells him that she's knocked up by Sophia's fiancé.  Patrick may not marry her because Ripoll will be bankrupted before then.  Cristian, her brother wants to know if the vengeance plot is still on.  Of course.  All of the Ripoll women have to pay for their mother's death.  Patrick has an assignment to write on why he got hooked on drugs.  He got on drugs after his mother shot herself.  She had an affair with Octavio.  She killed herself after Greta confronted her about having sex with her husband.  The mother was an innocent seductress messing with a married man.  The wife had no right to be angry. The wife must pay.

Hurry up with the story, I have to pee!

Other News That I Don't Care About:

  • Armando is moving out of his house tonight and in with Chava.  Doesn't Matias sleep with Chava too?   How's that gonna work?
  • Irma tried using Nandito to help her make Armando feel guilty about leaving her, but Armando didn't take the bait.  He had a man to man talk with Nandito.  Nandito can call him anytime and he will love him forever.
  • Lucas calls Daniela to give her an update about Miguelina.  She tells him that she knows about him and Marisol.  She tells him never to call him again.
  • Alexa advised Daniela to fight for her man.
  • Miguelina goes out at night for bread and to gossip with the neighbors.  Lucas gives her is cell phone.
  • Marisol shows up Lucas' house unexpectedly.  He's just finished working out and he's all sweaty.  He leaves her in the living room while he takes a shower.
  • Cuco's and all of his customers are robbed.
  • Chava gets a job driving expensive cars in a commercial.  According to the advances, he cuts his mullet....but what about his face?  Trollio.

Comments:
It's about time Daniela told Lucas to GET LOST.

I'm happy for her standing up for herself!

And Box of Rocks doesnt quiz Silvana about the father? She's not even mildly curious? Not like the women I know.

Thanks, Cynderella, for all if the good laughs this a.m. I too was wondering about where Armando was going to stay at Chava's house. Maybe Lupe should add a few bunkbeds and start a rooming house. The Alexa comments about her doing nothing were the best.

Annoying: Araceli is just more obnoxious all the time. I am waiting for Paco to hand her her suitcase and physically remove her. I wish he would. Yes, he does have a right to his privacy.

Sad: Detective Fuzzy is giving up on pursuing Lupe because of Paco.

Will Daniela walk in on Marisol at Lucas's house with him in the shower? Sure hope so.

Jarifa

Fabulously snarky and witty recap Cynderella! Thank you so much!

Cynderella, thanks for the recap! For the paroxysm of coughing from laughing, not so much, @#$% you.

Silvana (as well as Sofía) is also following in her mother's footsteps; if Patricio succeeds, he will be the head of the family, like Ripoll in his day.

I do not want to see what the "chemist" is going to do to Silvana and child. It's going to be painful and sad if it happens.

Patricio might decide just to do away with both of them at the same time, as well, what with Silvana freelancing for her own sake.

But I kind of think Patricio might fail. Mariana is a main cast member and won't disappear yet. Also Silvana really wants this child; she is not such a villana yet. Her reasons are misguided but out of family loyalty.

And after all, the child is a Ripoll grandchild. I kind of think it will live for that reason, because of Silvana's relationship to the younger two Ripoll girls.

They might be happy in the end to know they have a brother, as well. He seems to have developed addiction because of the mother's suicide, so fixing the family problem might relieve his symptoms. However, he is even more bitter than Silvana.

I don't know if Greta has to pay for Silvana's mother's suicide; Greta was within her rights, to my mind, depending on what she said to the mother. I don't remember a conversation between them.

But Silvana's mother killed herself and left two kids alone in the world; she probably was not in her right mind. And her son may have inheritable mental conditions.

In regard to Sofía's conversation with Silvana -- they already had a scene where the situation was discussed at length. Sofía already knew Silvana's lover was taken and that she refused to reveal his identity.

Marisol probably will make sure Daniela does walk in on the two of them in the shower; good catch! :D

This is awesome Cynderella

"Methinks that a little bit of insurance fraud is going on because the place looks worse than what it did before."

"Today is Alexa's first official day of doing what she usually does...absolutely nothing..., but at least she will now be the VP of Doing Nothing in a professional setting."

"I only married his arch nemesis who stole his dreams and hid his baby from him! Life is so unfair!"

"Donna Reed, I mean Araceli, comes through the door after having coffee with Irma."

"Hurry up with the story, I have to pee!"

Wow, Araceli, Greta & Irma need to shut their pie hole, the made their decisions so rot. Sick of Dani's whine and just can't take anything about Alexa serious. I thought for a minute Sofia was gonna laugh in her face.

Hmm, so Silvana is a free agent with her own agenda for bringing the Ripoll's down and she is clever with the story surrounding her lover. I want to be there when Sofia finds out just who that fiancee is.

What kind of cologne does Patfink wear that can mask slimeball reak.

More power to ya Chava, hope you hit it big time and tell Sofia to go suck face with Patfink.

tofie, oh yeah; that reminds me: I wonder if this racecar commercial Salvador has signed up to do is going to lead him back to racing. He needs to get rich and famous on his own, and he's definitely good enough.

Armando and others keep insisting he should take the severance pay and get back into racing.

Another thing: in the previous episode Patricio got a call in his office while Silvana was there about that big industry convention. Patricio told them Sofía was too busy to go, and Silvana said that Sofía always makes certain to attend that, because it's a super important networking convention. I feel sure Patricio already knew that, which is why he blew them off on Sofía's behalf.

I'm glad Sofía found the invitation; it slows down Patricio's plans just a little. I don't know how a guy gets to be so evil; so far he doesn't have any ethical qualities besides his lack of laziness -- or have I missed something?

Silvana got a free pass claiming her pregnancy situation just made the invitation's arrival fly right out of her head. She said it just arrived, too. Sofía seemed to accept that for now, but I wonder if Sofía won't remember that, among other items she lists in hindsight about Silvana.

One reason the character of Araceli is so tough on her dad, I think, is that as her mother's daughter, she is a natural adversary of Greta and Sofía -- her half sister.

I don't think her character likes it at all that Paco might have had something to do with another female. It's jealousy, in defense of her mother.

I keep referring to the character rather than Araceli, because Araceli wouldn't know this on a conscious level; but telenovelas are never afraid to imbue some sixth sense into a character about their place in the sceme of things. Who they are related to, etc.

Jeri, I too caught the real reason the invite in Silvana purse and disappointed there was no further inquiry.

I want Salvador to do this on his own without the severance, hope his success brings fame, fortune and a truck load of groupies. He can handle the success and not become a stuck up pig. Please don't let Chava live Paco's life just to prove how unworthy he is of an Ice Queen.

Yes, Salvador doesn't want her money, and that's fine with me; but he does need to leave that job, even if he doesn't want to.

I know that plenty of women have had miscarriages in novelas, but is there precedent for giving someone poison to lose a baby?

Actually, I think I just answered my own question. In La Que No Podia Amar (also with Julian Gil) I think Ana Paula got bit by a snake and lost her baby. I guess that's not really any different than getting a pharmacist to prescribe something to induce a miscarriage (I think it is called an abortifacent). Although, if Pato does this to Silvana and she figures out he did it, then maybe she will decide to bring him down. Just speculating here.

Unfortunately something like that did happen here in Florida. A girl was pregnant and the "baby-daddy" was the son of a doctor. He got the right pills, gave it to the girlfriend and she had a spontaneous abortion. I think he is in jail now.

If Julian Gil could package his believable sneers and threatening glares, he could make a fortune selling it to Hollywood actors who aren't that believable.

Julian could Anita, I just can't get past that pompadour

Cynderella, what a wonderful way to start the weekend.

Your screen shots and captions were fantatic as always. An excellent recap.

I laughed at the title and all of the absolutely creative lines you sprinkled throughout. "Today is Alexa's first official day of doing what she usually does...absolutely nothing..., but at least she will now be the VP of Doing Nothing in a professional setting" was hysterical. "Greta steps out. Paco warmly greets her with "Again!" was oh so true! "I only married his arch nemesis who stole his dreams and hid his baby from him! Life is so unfair!" - the best.

Jarifa, I am keeping hope alive that the commandante ends up with Lupe. She and Paco are just not a good fit as a couple. As friends, yes, which is what they've been for years. I suspect that friendship will continue.

anita "If Julian Gil could package his believable sneers and threatening glares, he could make a fortune selling it to Hollywood actors who aren't that believable". You are absolutely right!

Jeri, I'm cringing at the thought of Sil losing the child she so obviously wants. I also hope Pato doesn't succeed.

And Matias. I meant to mention yesterday that it was so sweet of him to give Sil not just one, but two sandwiches (I suspect he gave her his as well). So sweet and thoughtful. How crushed he would have been if he saw her throw them away as she was gagging...

The man is a chocolatier and makes sandwiches. What else could a woman want?? Wake up Sil.

Cynderella, thank you, thank you.

Diana

Anita, I notice last night they are just exactly at that point in LQNPA where her baby died. The baby is from her old boyfriend, not the main galan (her pairing); and the villana is in love with the old boyfriend, IIRC. (Watched it first run.)

Sometimes this kind of thing is a story cue that she does not belong with the old boyfriend; that sad though it is, he is not for her. Just part of the logical puzzle.

That baby would not be in the main line of the story (even the adopted son is the main galan's real son).

But here the grandchild would be a Ripoll. To me that signifies something. It could die, yes; but Silvana and her brother were illegitimate Ripolls who both lived. It's not doomed, necessarily.

Jeri,

So when Silvana's mom had the affair with Octavio, both Sil and her brother were conceived? Wow, I didn't catch that part! Then Silvana must be younger than Sofia as Greta was already married to Octavio when he was cheating.

Hmm, that means that:

Alexa and Dani have half siblings in Silvana and brother.

Alexa and Dani have a half sister in Sofia.

Sofia has A & D as half siblings as well as Araceli.

Poor Nandito will miss out on the (at least blood related) half sibling train if (or when) Armando marries Alexa and makes pretty babies with her!

Anita, that's a good rundown! LOL

I don't remember if it was said in so many words that Ripoll is the father of Silvana and brother. Maybe someone else does...?

I assume it, because of all the fuss being made -- and how it adds to the drama. They don't usually miss a chance at drama.

Silvana went to work for the company, which is handy, since she would be an heir. (Do you think she looks like the brother?) I don't see any good reason for giving them different fathers.

Let's see, Nandito: Irma and Arecelia are first cousins. Paco is Irma's uncle; so Nandito has some good genes going here, too. (I can't help notice how much the Nandito actor looks like the Ramon actor; great casting.)

Armando's folks are both deceased, according to what he said about his house when Irma was trying to sell it (yes? didn't he say they were deceased...)

Diana, Matias is adorable. Silvana would be lucky to get him; she just doesn't know it yet. It makes sense -- she's a Ripoll; he's a chocolatier. :)

Cynderella – Simply superb. Your recounting Sofia matter-of-factly invading Silvana’s purse is a hoot. I too loved the “Alex is indeed worthless” riff. The pics and captions were great, especially the Pato-Renzi sequence. Also my favorites:

Now Lucas is with another girl and Daniela is bummed. Who cares? Anyone?

I can't believe that I put the bun in the wrong oven.

Hurry up with the story, I have to pee!

One thing that bugs me about Lucas is he’s supposed to have these conman skills, as he was a bogus real estate agent selling fancy properties to the international elite. But we’ve seen no smarts out of him at all. Nice chest and abs though. If I were 16, I’d be there.

I love Renzi and Pato together. Pato has this image of himself as a suave evil mastermind, but Renzi gives him the straight dope that he ain’t all of that.

I wish Araceli would quit it with Chava, but I do sympathize with her when she’s pushy with Paco because of his preoccupation with Greta affected her childhood. I would’ve asked him about the picture too. She didn’t deliberately invade his privacy, not like her half-sister rifling through Silvana’s purse.

Lowdown and dirty of Irma to make Nandito skip his taekwondo lesson so she can fake that the boy is too heartsick over their breakup. Now more than ever, Nandito needs this outlet.

My guess is Silvana doesn't know the whole story. What if her mom and Octavio had a thing even before he married Greta? Or what if it happened later, after her mom married someone else, and her younger brother, not Silvana, is a Ripoll? If her mom had a husband, what happened to him? I’m ready for Silvana’s brother to be released so we can see where this goes. The actor must be tired playing catatonic.

Niecie, still chuckling at 'Pato has this image of himself as a suave evil mastermind, but Renzi gives him the straight dope that he ain’t all of that".

Great, great line :)

Diana

Jarifa, once that happens, Daniela will retaliate by having sex with Oliver & rubbing it in Lucas' face.

Niiiiiice: Salvador shooting commercials in some HOT car with an even HOTTER babe and Sofa crying herself to sleep.

Here's a pic with Julio Camejo (Matias) that Pedro posted on his Facebook page; it looks like it's on set.

Sofia IS the female version of Art from Por Siempre Mi Amor: rich, uppity & spoiled !

Jeri, thank you for posting the picture but alas I'm not on Facebook so can't see it. Huge sigh.

Diana

Diana, I posted a trial pic like that last week or so, because I had my doubts; and someone told me they could see it. Maybe that person has a FB account.

If this were here in Floriduh Sofa would already have Silvania in a back room waterboarding her to get the baby-daddy identity.

Sofa was gushing about the how handsome Salv was while shooting the commercial when Armie sneaked her in to see it

It appears a preview shows Sofa having a heated talk with her slimy fiance Patric. I am hoping it has to do with beginning to be onto his shenenagans. (sp)

Kirby, don't count on it though.

Patrick will be pulling a Feo and launch epic chaos.

Kirby, you're right! If we're best friends, I would know the name of the guy my friend was sleeping with. Also, Silvana has all but told her that she's sleeping with Patrick (in my opinion). Every cryptic clue that she gives points to Patrick.

Jarifa, what's weird is that Matias sleeps in Chava's room (I think!). Are they going to have a slumber party? If you're going to leave your wife, you should have a plan. He's got a job and I'm sure that Chava isn't his ONLY friend.

I don't think that Araceli has the right to sue without his permission; however, I do think that Araceli has the right or duty to protect her father. He's acting weird (by her standards) and she wants to know why. I would be curious too.

Anita Thank you for commenting and you are welcome.

Jeri, I'm glad that I could make you chuckle. I don't think that Silvana and Cristain are Octavio's children. They said that their mother started seeing a married man. To me, that means that they were already alive when Octavio came sniffing
around. I could be wrong.

Diana, thank you for your comments. Silvana knows that Patrick is a snake. She has got to know that he will bite her too. Love makes ya stupid.

Niecie, I really don't care about the Daniella/Lucas/Marisol triangle, BUT I understand why Daniela would pine after him. He was her first. He took away her virginity. When I was in high school a long long long time ago. I remember a lot of obsessed little girls who were floored when the guy who declared his undying love for them dumped them "once they got it". That's why teenager girls shouldn't be having sex. They can't handle the consequences. In this case, Lucas does love her. He's just being an a$$, but her little naïve heart can't understand. I don't know if I am making sense or not.

I agree Sil has all but painted a picture for (dumber than a) Box of Rocks . She just aint bright enough to get it. WOW I never dated anybody like that.. I got caught a lots when I wasnt even guilty. :-)
