Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #69 11/21/14 Irma Plays the Suicide Card

From Wednesday:
Paco can't get the questions out of his mind. He needs to know the truth - is Sofia his daughter?

New Stuff:
Greta visits Isadora and tells her about Sofia calling off her wedding. Greta can't understand it; Pato is the perfect man for Sofia! Isadora opens a flask and pours a shot of booze into her coffee. She tells Greta that there is only one reason why a woman calls off a wedding - because there is another man involved. Greta insists that another man can't possibly be the reason! Sofia is classier than that!

Sofia gives Marisol a generous advance check. Marisol can't believe her good fortune. Now she'll be able to take care of her sick (cough, cough, dirtbag! cough) father who has brought his drunken ass and his germs back to the family casa. Sofia wonders why Chava didn't tell her that his dad had returned. Marisol tells her that Chava hates Javier because he's a drunken dirtbag who abandoned them.

Geronimo Peralta talks to Oliver about Isadora. Isadora claims she divorced him because of his work. The truth is that Geronimo divorced her because of her drinking problem.

Alexa gives Armie the news that Sofia has cancelled her wedding.

Araceli is sure that there was something between Paco and Greta because he gets very upset every time Araceli mentions Greta's name. Araceli tells Chava about the photograph she found of Paco, Greta, Octavio and Martin Coria that was taken in their younger years. Chava gets a call from Armie who relays the news about Sofia cancelling her wedding. Chava is ecstatic. He knows it was because of their night together in Buenaventura. After Chava hangs up Araceli asks if he got good news. He just beams, "The best news in the world!"

Silvana asks Sofia if it's true that she's cancelled her wedding. Sofia confesses that she is confused about her feelings for Salvador. Silvana encourages Sofia to dump Pato for Salvador. Sofia thinks that Silvana should take some time off but Silvana would rather be working than at home crying.

Lupe' takes Javier's temperature. His temp is normal but he claims that he is still sick. Lupe' stands to go call the doctor, but before she can leave Javier grabs her arm and demands to know what is going on between her and Paco.

Sofia has heard that Armie fixed the factory machines. He tells her that it wasn't difficult to do since all motors function the same way with the same principles. She offers him a job maintaining the factory machinery with a substantial raise in pay. This means, of course, that he won't be the chauffeur for Alexa or the family anymore. Armie tells Sofia that his passion is mechanics. The chauffeur's job was only supposed to be a temporary position anyway. He accepts her offer. Sofia wants to ask Armie something personal. What's the situation between Salvador and his father?

Peralta calls Renzi about the real estate deals. Renzi claims everything is fine but Peralta knows that Renzi hasn't acquired a single property in weeks. Peralta calls Renzi an incompetent idiot. He wants results now! Renzi doesn't even get time to attend his own pity party before he gets a call from Fuzzy Tavares. He heard Renzi was robbed and ended up in the hospital. Tavares wants all the details of the attack. Renzi tells him it was a terrible experience. Tavares asks why Renzi didn't report the robbery. Renzi claims he didn't have time, he was too busy. Good grief. That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard. If you're lying in a hospital bed you have time to make a call. Tavares asks if the assault happened in the neighborhood. Renzi gets flustered and upset. First he's accused of being behind the robberies, then he's a victim!

Armie tells Sofia that Javier was a drunk and a bad father who abandoned his family many times and only came back this time because he was sick and needed someone to take care of him. Armie wants Sofia to know that Chava is a good man and she shouldn't let him go.

Marisol shows her advance check to Lucas. She's going to use the money to take care of her papa. Lucas takes Marisol's face in his hands and tells her she has a good heart. Dani walks in the break room just in time to see them.

Armie tells Alexa about his new position. She is very happy for him and wants to celebrate.

Araceli and Lupe' talk about the divorce. Lupe' cautions Araceli to talk quietly because she doesn't want Javier to hear. Araceli knows that Lupe' loves Paco. Javier has been listening from the doorway of the bedroom. He thought bubbles, "If you think you're divorcing me Lupe'..."

Paco gets a call from Miguelina who says that Greta wants her to get all the groceries for the Ripoll house from Paco's store. She's calling to place an order.

Silvana sits at her desk crying. Matias peeks in the door and offers to get her some lunch. She can't, she has too much work. Matias crouches down by her chair and tells her the light has gone out of her beautiful eyes. She agrees that is how she feels. He hopes his love will put the light back in her eyes and her heart. He asks if her sadness is because of Patricio. She gets angry and kicks him out of her office.

Chava calls Sofia

The doctor checks Javier's temperature and can't understand why he still has a fever. Lupe' assures the doctor that Javier has been getting his medicine. Doc says that Javier needs another day. After he and Lupe' leave the bedroom, Javier pulls a hot water bottle out of his pillowcase. "You're not getting me out of your life, Lupe'"

Oliver confronts Isadora over her drinking problem. What's he getting so excited about? She's only having an aperitif'! Isadora tells Oliver that he's exaggerating things.

At the Ripoll house, Alexa tells Greta that Sofia hired Armie to maintain the machines at the factory. They'll have to hire another chauffeur. Greta sighs, "First Salvador, then Armando." She doesn't know where they will find another driver she trusts like them.

At the race track, Chava is offered a job as a driver for time trials.

Greta, Alexa and Dani have dinner. Greta bitches that Sofia isn't with them because she cares more about the company than she does about her family. I'm pretty sure it's Sofia who is making sure Greta has food to stuff into her big mouth. Just sayin'.... Fausto answers a call and hands the phone to Greta at the table. When she discovers who is on the other end of the phone Greta leaves the table to take the call in her studio.

Armie brings Nandito home from school and tells him about his new job at the factory. While Nandito changes his clothes, Armie looks around for Irma.

Paco accuses Greta of trying to clear her guilty conscience about the past by ordering groceries from him.

Armie goes from the kitchen to the bedroom looking for Irma. He tries the bathroom door and finds that it's locked. He knocks on the door and calls for Irma but there is no answer. He pushes the door open and finds Irma unconscious on the bathroom floor. There is a brown bottle and pills on the floor next to her. Armie shakes her, "Irma! Irma! Answer me!" She doesn't respond. "No! No! You can't be dead!" He picks her up and yells to Nandito, "Call your aunt Araceli! I'm taking your mom to the hospital. He carries Irma out the door.

Silvana visits Christian at the rehab clinic. He assures her that he's better and will be getting out soon; then he'll be able to help Silvana get revenge on Sofia Ripoll. Silvana tells him the good news about Sofia cancelling her wedding. Soon Sofia will dump Pato for Salvador and Silvana will finally get the man she loves.

A bald guy watches Chava race around the track. Where have we seen this guy before?

Greta and Fausto talk about Paco. she let her prejudices overcome love.

At the hospital a doctor tells Armie that Irma tried to commit suicide.

Nandito tells Araceli he's worried about his mom. She hugs and comforts him. Later, she calls Chava to tell him about Irma.

Armie goes in to talk to Irma. He asks her why she tried to kill herself. Doesn't she care about Nandito? Irma says she doesn't want to be without Armie. She'd rather die than be alone. That may make her a bad mother but she was desperate. She's in love with Armando and always will be. She can't accept their separation. Armie leaves the room to ask the doctor if Irma will stay in the hospital or go home. Irma vows she'll force Armie to come back to her.

Comments:
Alexa will find a way to be touchy feely on Armando somehow with his new job.

Silvana & Marisol are still SKANKS.

Dani: move on from the thug, Lucas.

Irma is faking it, just saying !

Xint, the recap was great fun and you captured all the events in grand style as always.

"Now she'll be able to take care of her sick (cough, cough, dirtbag! cough) father who has brought his drunken ass and his germs back to the family casa" and "I'm pretty sure it's Sofia who is making sure Greta has food to stuff into her big mouth. Just sayin'...." were among my favorites.

"Matias crouches down by her chair and tells her the light has gone out of her beautiful eyes. She agrees that is how she feels. He hopes his love will put the light back in her eyes and her heart". Ahhh, my Matias. You are wasting your love and kindness on someone who barely knows you exist.

"A bald guy watches Chava race around the track. Where have we seen this guy before?" He was part of the commercial shoot and the actor is our beloved Jean Marie from AV. Carlos, where are you? Missing your comments very much.

I can't care much about either Greta or Paco - they have so much anger and self pity which they must lose before either can move forward.

I do care about Sofia and Chava and Armando. Irma will do whatever it takes to hold onto Armando and unfortunately, it looks like Javier is doing the same.

Xint, thank you!

Diana

Diana, which is why I'm still betting on Alexa & Armando being together in the end of this TN.

I'm sticking with my prediction

Thanks, Xlnt!

So if Irma can't control Armando with a child, the next best thing is a suicide. She is nuts. Armando needs to run far and fast.

As if Alexa was not annoying enough as she was, they have given her a new little phrase "que te lo digo yo" which she delivered with a little smug smile TWICE in this episode. Hope I don't have to hear it again. Armando needs to run far and fast from this nut job, too.

I am not feeling sorry for Lupe: she never should have let her daughter overrule her in her own household. She gets what she deserves with Javier for being the wimp she is.

Jarifa

Thanks. This recap clears up a lot.

Just kill off Irma & get it over with.

Memo to Matias: Silvana HATES you & you're lower class ! Move on dude.

xInt, thanks you so much.

"You are wasting your love and kindness on someone who barely knows you exist."

It's painful to watch Matias in his awkward, sincere way attempt, to woo an anti-princess.

Whew, Irma how do you up the ante now, perhaps a shotgun.

For the life of me I don't understand Armando going for Alexa, unless he is addicted to crazy.

I wonder, if Salvador gets another driving gig, will he ask Armando to come with and will any absence while racing make it easy for Patricio to rekindle the relationship or would Salvador turn the gig down.

Tofie, some men are addicted to crazy and he is a prime example.

Jarifa

Jarifa, the big question is whether the secrets of Greta will ever be revealed anytime soon?

A.) Yes
B.) No
C.) Wait & see

Steve, I wish Greta's secret would be revealed already because this novela needs some action. It is beyond tedious and I dislike Great and everyone else except for Chava, Fausto and Silvana. An example of a novela where I disliked all of the characters but was still entertained was "Lo que la vida me robó." It had plenty of action and it was fast paced. It was always fun to see what the writers came up with. Not the same here.

Jarifa

Thank You. Also Java is pond scum and faking it.

See: You Tube "Crazy / Hot Matrix". Will explain everything about Alexa. IE: enough Hot cancels an equal amount of Crazy.

A

This one is like NASCAR compared to Mi Corazon es Tuyo with Ana and Fernando et al.

Kirby, Victor Newman can expose Greta's dirty secrets for everyone to see.

You saw what happened to Sharon when her secrets were revealed.... Everyone is hating her right now.

Thank you, xlnt! I will listen to the recap with my news.

I received Pedro's latest CD in the mail from Amazon recently, the one from this show and named "Hasta el Fin del Mundo."

Turns out he wrote the theme song himself, as well as performed it; I love the theme song. He wrote four other songs on the album. Pedro's such a talented person.

xlnt, thank you for your great hard work and devotion to the show!

Well, at least Isadora put a worm in Greta’s brain about the possibility of another man in Sofía’s life. Greta will probably not be able to avoid thinking about that if she gets some whiff about Salvador, thank goodness. Patricio is supposed to be complaining about him to her soon.

Salvador might wind up paying off Marisol’s loan for Javier’s illness; what an insult. It was a big loan, and if Marisol is stupid enough to let Javier know about it, it will all be gone in a flash.

So…turns out Marisol doesn’t have to spill the beans about Lupe’s divorce plans, since he overheard Araceli. Javier’s livid, but maybe he will take the loan money to forget about it and leave.

Oliver must have not often seen his mother if he doesn’t know already that she’s an alcoholic. I hope Isadora and Oliver can help bring down Geronimo and that Oliver doesn't get co-opted by his father somehow.

I’m glad Ariceli is basically intelligent; she does not pull punches about Paco’s situation with Greta. She’s realistic about that, if not about her own situation with Salvador.

Patricio is going to make Silvana so utterly miserable that one day Matias’s adoration is not going to look silly at all to her, but be a welcome relief.

Hmm…wonder who they will get to be the new chauffeurs — or if those jobs will go back into the background.

Glad to see that they are still touching on the policeman’s role; he’ll be there when Lupe is ready. After bad-guy Javier, good-guy policeman is just the prescription.

That’s hilarious that now Renzi has to make up a mugging story; Tavares will hopefully discover it doesn’t check out.

The racing honcho at the track is played by Ricardo Kleinbaum, who recently played the Italian “Gino,” father of Carmen’s son, Paolo, in “De que te quiero, te quiero.”

Do we believe that Irma loves Armando and was desperate enough to commit suicide? Did she know that Armando was going to come home with Nando and find her on the bathroom floor…?

I believe her when she says that her life makes no sense without him; he’s the only thing she’s got going for her.

Javier will milk Marisol until he's stolen ALL of her $$$.

Watch.

If Tavares happens to drop in on Renzi and not see any bruises or if Renzi gets a heads up he is coming will have to get some of his goons to beat him up

LOL that would be funny! Renzi is kind of a comical character anyway.

I'm thinking if Javier does take the loan money that Salvador could apply his unused severance pay to the loan. There must be some reason that it exists and is still out there. I wonder what it will be used for...

If Javier takes the money, I also wonder whether that deed will be enough to convince Marisol he's no good.

Googled a couple of things; the loan was for 100,000 pesos:

"100000 Mexican Peso equals
7322.708 US Dollar"

"In Mexico, the average household net-adjusted disposable income per capita is 12,850 USD a year."

So, Marisol's loan is more than half a year's family income.

Have a gut feeling innocent people will get caught in the crossfire & get killed off.
