Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #74 11/28/14 Irma Goes Berserk and Pato Gets Dumped

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family and that you're all staying warm.

Old:
Pato tells Sofia that in spite of the photographic evidence that she and Chava passionately Eskimo kissed (I love that! Thanks Cynderella!), he still loves her. He'll wait until the dinosaurs return to have her in his life. She looks skeptical.

Miguelina and Lupe' meet to talk about Javier and bury the hatchet (preferably in Javier's skull).

Nandito tells Armie a secret, "Mom said you dumped us for another woman."

Mom said you dumped her AND me.

New:
(Some scenes have been combined)

Miguelina says she had no romantic interest whatsoever in Javier. The only reason she was chasing Javier was to get him to return the money he owed her. Javier promised to pay her back and he never did. Javier comes into the room. Lupe' asks if it's true that he owes Miguelina money. Javier confesses, "Well, yes it is. And I'm going to pay her back." Lupe' and Miguelina have heard that line before, both look skeptical. Personally, I wish Lupe' had smothered this guy with a pillow when he told her about all his affairs. She had a perfect alibi; after all, everyone knew Javier had pneumonia and had trouble breathing.

Silvana visits Christian at rehab and tells him that Greta had a heart attack. They both think Karma is paying Greta back for what she did to their mother. Silvana doubts that Sofia will marry Pato since she's in love with Salvador. Chris thinks that Silvana is as addicted to Pato as he is to drugs. Chris promises he will get out of rehab soon and join Silvana in her plot for revenge.

A heart attack didn't kill her because she has no heart.
We still have work to do.

Greta's heart condition can be treated with meds. I almost said 'heart problem'. Greta's heart *problem* can only be cured by a swift kick in the keister. Greta has been told to keep calm, instead she lectures and browbeats her daughters from her hospital bed. Dani must study hard and must avoid that no-account Lucas while she's at the factory. Dani can only date worthy guys like Oliver who can afford to keep Greta in designer clothes, organic food and top-of-the-line art supplies.

You'll do exactly as I say. If you don't and I die
I swear I'll come back and haunt you.

Alexa must work hard at her job and end her relationship with that chauffeur. Alexa protests that Armie's not a chauffer anymore, he's the mechanical supervisor at Ripoll! No matter. She either ends it with Armie or Greta will fire him. I guess Sofia, who actually runs the factory, has no say in this. Greta tells her daughters that if they don't do what she says they will be to blame for her death. I imagine Greta would be willing to die just to spite them.

Fausto tells Miguelina and Aurora about Greta's condition. Miguelina mentions that Paco called to apologize to her. He also asked to talk to Greta.

In the hospital cafeteria, Sofia, Dani and Alexa commiserate and ponder the delicate condition of Greta's heart. Dani doesn't have a chance to give Greta another major infarto since Greta has already forced her to break up with Lucas. It's up to Alexa and Sofia. Alexa is all gung-ho for killing Greta. She isn't going to end it with Armie and she's not going to allow Greta to run her life! Sofia doesn't want to kill her mother just yet. She'll think about her feelings for Pato and Chava. Dani tells Sofia it's pretty obvious who Sofia loves. It's Salvador!

Paco tells Cuco that Chava and Araceli's brief investigation into Renzi's real estate agency hasn't turned up anything illegal. Cuco says there are still people trying to buy houses in the hood. Cuco asks Paco why he's all gussied up. Paco won't tell him.

Back in the hospital room it's Sofia's turn on Greta's Wheel of Misfortune. Pato is a wonderful man who put his love for Sofia ahead of the pain of being betrayed. Sofia can't possibly love Salvador! He's a nobody! Forget him and this fantasy! Sofia just wants to take the time to sort out her feelings and make the right decision. Greta warns Sofia that she will be letting Greta down if she doesn't marry Pato. Greta twists the knife, "Octavio always wanted the best for you. If you continue like this you'll betray Octavio's memory as well."

Chava is in an immaculate garage. Tulio leads Chava to a car that needs engine repairs. Chava gets to work.

I may not get my lips messy,
but I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty.

At the hospital, Paco watches Sofia and Dani and waits for his chance to visit Greta.

In the factory lobby, Alexa tells Armie that Greta threatened to fire him if Alexa didn't dump him. But she's not giving him up. She loves him.

Nobody's going to separate us.

Suddenly, from out of nowhere, Irma rips Alexa away from Armie and drops her to the floor with a hard slap.

The baby deer is blissfully unaware
that the rabid hyena is about to attack.

Irma is all over Alexa, slapping and screaming, pulling at her hair and clothes. QTH? Is Pato the only one who can call the security guards? Chava was run out of the place twice but when crazy Irma shows up nobody else can dial a phone?

Irma becomes a virtual tornado of flying fists and hair.

Armando manages to pull Irma off of Alexa. Alexa scrambles across the floor to the other side of the lobby and screams, "Don't let her go! She's crazy!" Matias clears the lobby of onlookers then helps Lucas and Marisol get Alexa to her feet. He then runs to hold Irma back while Armie comes over to coach Alexa to breathe to stave off a panic attack.

She still appears to be in one piece.

Paco enters Greta's hospital room. He asks about her condition. She supposes he wants to know why she married Octavio and not him. No, that's in the past and she made her choice. He just wants to clear something up. Greta tells him to go before Sofia comes back. Paco finally manages to ask the question, "Is Sofia my daughter?"

I suppose it's too much to ask you to tell the truth.

Greta scoffs, "That's absurd!" But Paco isn't some ordinary dummy. He knows Sofia's birthday was last month and he did the math. It's possible that Sofia is his. Unless... Greta cheated on him with Octavio? Greta orders him to get out.

Oh, crap. It took him 30 years, but he figured it out!

Chava calls Sofia and asks about Greta's condition. He tells her, "Don't feel guilty. It's not your fault." Chava would like to be there with her. Sofia says she'll call him later.

Lucas, Marisol and Matias talk in the break room. They all agree that Irma was like something out of a horror movie. She even seemed to be foaming at the mouth! Dani asks what they are talking about and they tell her about Irma attacking Alexa. Dani runs off to check on her sister. Matias has known Irma and Armie for a long time. He's very sad about their break up.

Fausto and Paco bump into each other in the hospital hallway. Paco doesn't recognize Fausto, but Fausto knows exactly who that is that's waiting for the elevator.

Sofia remembers moments with Chava, then remembers Dani's words, "Sofia you're in love with Salvador." Sofia murmurs, "Papa, why do you want your own way?"

Chava drops a wrench. As he picks it up he takes a moment to pray for his relationship with Sofia.

Dani goes to see Alexa in her office. She's heard about the ruckus Alexa had with Irma. Dani advises Alexa to cool it with Armie until he gets his life together.

Fausto tells Greta that he ran into Paco. Fausto knows Paco came to see her because he was worried about her. Greta wants to forget the past. Fausto knows that she was in love with Paco, but not Octavio. Greta orders him to get out.

A nervous job applicant waits in the lobby. Matias trips over her feet as he passes.

Cuco asks Lupe' about Javier. "He gets better, then he relapses." Paco comes back to the store. He asks Lupe' about Javier, "Are you two back together?" Lupe' tells him, "You're the one who backed out, Paco."

Javier calls around to get information about the divorce. He gets some information and writes it down.

Alexa interviews Irais Bernal. She likes the designs in Irais' portfolio and decides to hire her.

Chava finds Sofia in the hospital lobby. Sofia tells him that Greta thinks her feelings are crazy, it's just a fantasy. Pato said he'd wait for her as long as it takes. If he didn't love her, why would he do that? "That's because he knows he's losing you."

Oliver goes to the factory to tell Dani the results of her exam. She passed! Dani hugs Oliver and Lucas sees them. He gives them both the evil eye as he walks by. Dani demands to know what happened between Oliver and Lucas; why they are no longer friends. Oliver explains, "Lucas stole an expensive watch from my father. Lucas denied stealing it. Miguelina was fired but wasn't told why." Oliver is glad that Dani isn't with Lucas anymore. "You got rid of a problem, Dani."

Armie warns Alexa that he doesn't like what is going on. Irma is nuts and he's afraid that Alexa is going to get hurt. He's going to do something about it.

Silvana grills Noemi about the female wrestling match in the lobby. Noemi says she's heard rumors that Alexa and Armie are having an affair, but she thinks Armie is a good guy. She gives Armie the benefit of the doubt; maybe it was just some kind of misunderstanding that set Irma off.

Chava encourages Sofia to dump Pato and let Chava have a chance to love her. They kiss. Pato comes in and catches them. He starts yelling, Chava yells back and Sofia has to step in between them to keep them apart. Chava demands that Sofia make a choice. Sofia says, "I don't want to hurt either one of you. I'm sorry Patricio, but... I'm breaking up with you." Pato can't believe his ears, "You can't break up with me!" Pato tells Sofia that she's just one in a long list of Chava's conquests. She asks Pato not to say anything to Greta. Pato leaves and Sofia tells Chava that she needs space. She didn't break up with Pato just to run into Chava's arms.

Matias bumps into Irais. She's excited and tells him she's been hired. Matias tells her she'll get to meet Silvana the HR manager, the most beautiful, intelligent, wonderful woman in the world.

Dani asks Lucas if it's true that he stole from Oliver's father. "Is that what he told you?" He walks away.

In the car, Pato calls Renzi and tells him that Sofia broke up with him. Renzi is sure that if Peralta finds out Pato's plan has gone down the drain, he'll kill him. Pato laments, "I underestimated Cruz." He orders Renzi to get busy and dig up some dirt. Find Chava's old girlfriends!

Chava tells Sofia not to worry. He knows he'll make it and be worthy of her. He'll reach into the sky and give her the stars. He just needs time. He'll handle Greta.

End of Episode.

Big question is how far will Greta go to keep her secrets secret ?

I'm sticking with Oliver & Dani being a couple forever! That's my story & I'm sticking to it!

Xint, What a fantastic way to start the day. Especially Monday. This was simply great.

Your screen shots were amzing. "A heart attack didn't kill her because she has no heart" was spot on.

"Greta has been told to keep calm, instead she lectures and browbeats her daughters from her hospital bed"; "Greta's Wheel of Misfortune" and "The baby deer is blissfully unaware that the rabid hyena is about to attack" were among my many favorites.

I think most (all?) of us are disgusted with Greta. She is sour and dour. Why doesn't she try for the sympathy card? Here she is in the hospital after suffering a heart attack and all she can do is browbeat her daughters further! You get more with honey than vinegar. She should try appealing to their sensitivity and gently ask them to abandon their not so suitable in her eyes men rather than ordering them. She is totally unlikeable now. She is even too good for angry Paco! Sigh.

Pato is going to have to find some rotting skeletons in Chava's closet to deter Sophia at this point.

Irma is desperate and I would put nothing past her at this point.

Irais arrives...I fervently hope she is competition for Matias' affections. Silvana clearly does not deserve him.

Xint, thanks - this was wonderful.

Diana

Thanks so much Kathy! Wonderful recap and great pics and captions.

I don't know who was more unlikable this episode, Greta or Irma. They are more unlikable than the supposed real villains of this tn. I wished Alexa would take everyone's advice and back off Armando while he settles his home situation. What's the rush? It's not like she doesn't have things to keep her busy, like, you know, learning how to work.

I'm sure whatever skeletons Pato finds about Chava will be fabricated. And Sofia, the fool, will fall for it.

Anyone else ready for Silvana and her brother to just get on with their revenge on Greta? All this blah blah. Greta is such an easy target, and Silvana now knows enough dirt via Pato to launch her own attack.

Silvana & her brother need to expose ALL of Greta's secrets.

I think Greta played a role in Silvana's mother's death somehow.

xlnt, thanks for the very enjoyable recap. Loved the keister comment.

So Alexa thinks Irma is "crazy"? Interesting. She is not very smart or innocent. Too bad the fight didn't go on longer.

Jarifa

ooh, so many good ones xInt. Love it.

"I wish Lupe' had smothered this guy with a pillow when he told her about all his affairs"

"A heart attack didn't kill her because she has no heart"

It was so funny as Alexa was pleading for them not to let Irma at her again. Can't she keep it in her pants long enough for the guy to take care of his business? If he has half a brain he'll give Alexa a wide berth.

Greta - I'm miserable, so everyone else, be miserable

Armando - let em fight, it's hot

Patrick - Sofia obviously doesn't believe in god, I'm gods gift to women

Fausto - come on Greta, admit it, that Paco can sure fill out a pair of jeans

Sofia - I hope he don't...you know, like he kisses

Lucas - it wasn't an expensive watch but a knock off rolex

Silvana - never leave your purse around that brother of yours

Irma - Lucas, yeah, I can take him, first round

tofie, "Irma - Lucas, yeah, I can take him, first round" was too funny.

I'm no fan of Lucas but I don't think he took the watch.

Diana

Me too Diana, I'm no fan but didn't take the watch

Oliver was spot on about Lucas: that punk is NO good.

When are we're going to see Lucas' mother anytime soon?

xlnt, thanks so much for the brilliant recap and captions!

I have been at a loss to explain Silvana’s attraction to Patricio, so I guess I would agree with Christian it seems like some kind of addiction. Christian is played by Alan Slim; and after googling around, I still can’t come up with how or if he is related to Carlos Slim, the telecom mogul, the erstwhile richest man in the world. Alan was reportedly born in Mexicali, BC.

Good thing Armando got a promotion or Alexa would have had to admit to Greta she’s in love with a chauffeur (shrug). Keep running your mouth and Nando’s dad and sole sane support won’t even have the mechanic’s job.

That caption with the hyena was hilarious; of course, it was a terrific scene by itself. No wonder Alexa acts so proud; she has to overcompensate for the constant indignities she suffers and commits.

Is Paco too much of an old-school Luddite to just somehow abscond with a little of Sofía’s DNA and get her tested? I guess so. Fausto could get a forensic sample for him if he wanted to. Fausto seems game; definitely interested in the guy getting on the hospital elevator.

When Javier went digging around in Lupe’s room for divorce papers, it made me think that one day he’ll be digging around to find that Ripoll loan check in Marisol’s room.

I’ve been wondering about the curious lipstick jobs Makeup has been laying on Sofía; and then yesterday I saw in a magazine that the current notions about lips are like from the 40’s, when they laid it on very thick — and make no mistake: there is a big gash of lips there. If you see nothing else, you’ll see lips. Nothing sheer and nothing that isn’t saturated color.

I actually don’t think Marjorie has looked as good as she could in this show; her makeup base and hair color seem unflattering. She’s better as an ash blonde like Kendra in AV (http://tinyurl.com/mouoqv9); these tones are too warm for her. And then they slather a thickness of cool-tone lip color on her. It’s just not harmonious, IMO.

They should give us a bit more of something to help us understand why Greta is so sold on her choice to marry Octavio; so much so that she insists her daughters all marry in the same manner. They haven’t really backed that up yet; Greta knows she loved and still loves Paco. Is she too terrified to think what she should have done instead…I don’t know. All I picture is that as the story proceeds, she’s going to find out more bad stuff about Octavio and perhaps change her mind. But she already knows he was no saint; so I don’t know. It’s something to resolve.

Honestly don’t know what to say about Irais; tsk! Is there such an unlimited supply of Fea’s in Mexico. I kind of doubt it. I like Sugchey Abrego, though; she was good in De que te quiero, te quiero as Rodrigo’s wacky sex-slave nurse evil-accomplice.

Ahh Jeri. Thank you for telling us who she is!

I thought she looked familiar, but couldn't place her.

Diana

Oh, sure; did you think she was a fun character? Very bad nurse, LOL.

Greta knows the life she would have had with Paco and where she'd be living and knows she dodged a bullet. She went for instant gratification and lived pretty good. She should tell the girls and use him as an example. Go for love and you get him, go for the cash and even when the guy dies you got all the eye can see.

Thanks, xlnt. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My favorites:

Personally, I wish Lupe had smothered this guy…She had a perfect alibi; after all, everyone knew Javier had pneumonia and had trouble breathing.

The baby deer is blissfully unaware that the rabid hyena is about to attack.

I certainly don’t want Armando to stay with Irma, but I’m not bothered by her beatdown of Alexa (as I should be). As others have pointed out, Alexa has been arrogant and disrespectful of Armando’s status as a common law married man from the start. So she needed a good jolt, and it was so entertaining. But I do like that Alexa is willing to stand up to her mother for her love, even if it gives Greta the big one.

I also liked that Paco kept pressing Greta on whether Sofia was his kid, even if it gave Greta the big one. Her EKG hookup, or whatever, was going haywire, but Paco continued asking. Good for him.

Can’t wait for the new girl to get cleaned up and (hopefully) shake up Matias.

Jeri, I’m glad I’m not the only one getting distracted by Sofia’s lipstick. They lay it on way too thick and seems like she even changes color in the middle of the same day. I wish Avon would just buy a commercial already.

Actually I liked Sofia's lipstick color. It's far, far better than that sickly pink she was wearing for the business congress. I think red lipstick is very retro and glamorous, I wish I could wear it.

It's beyond the time for Christian to be out of rehab. That part of the story is getting boring. Silvana is much too smart to be depending on Pato for revenge.

Yes, she was a very bad nurse indeed Jeri ;)

I look forward to seeing her character here develop.

Diana

Tofie, this is turning into The Haves & Have Not's.

Sofia's lipstick colors are fine by me. It's the heavy application that grabs my attention and makes me want to hand her a blotter.

I like the colors themselves, too. The lavender was really pretty.

Niecie, I did not realize they were Avon product placement; is that so? I guess they do need to buy commercial spots, LOL.

Sophia is the female version of Art from PSMA: rich, spoiled & uppity !

Just saying.

Thank you for the recap, I was trying very hard to stifle my laughs while reading this at work. All of the brilliant lines have been mentioned already and I especially enjoyed the screen shot of Irma slapping the s*** out of Alexa. I just wanted to ask if anyone else saw the announcement that "love will have a new face" starting this Friday!? Yay! Can't wait!

Lily,
Thank you. I'm so glad I brightened your day. :) Please comment anytime. We love having you here.

I don't think Greta knew what would happen when she got involved with Paco. If it were Octavio who ruined her family as well as Paco's life, then Octavio changed the outcome. By the time her family was on the street and she was pregnant, she looked pretty desperate.

Greta would have been fine if her family weren't destitute; and Paco could have had even more stature than the Ripoll master chocolatier who just died. Not an impossible match for Greta if the family business were healthy.

Paco was a genius at his craft and had already gone far in the culinary world until his life's work was appropriated and his career ruined. I seem to remember a scene where it was revealed he had been to Europe to study and work.

WOW...Irkme is one forked up beatch. She doesnt even mind tormenting Nandito. Armie shouldnt even bother divorcing a ho he aint married to. He should just go ahead and go to court for full custody of Nandito and then kick her arse out of HIS house so he and Nando can live in peace

Kirby, I'm looking forward to the day when they finally kill off Irma.

She's a constant NAGGING distraction.
