La Malquerida #63 Part 1

Everyone Reads Uli’s Letter Except the Intended Recipient

Perla bitterly informs Ale she despises her and will not help her in her revenge quest against Danilo.

Este has learned Uli was abducted by drug traffickers and is cross examining Rubio on his involvement. Rubio proves his loyalty (and stupidity) by gifting Esteban with Uli’s letter to Acacia. This makes 3 people (none of whom were the intended recipient) who are now privy to the contents of Uli’s private letter. I suspect Danilo will not be pleased now that Rubio will be unable to provide him with the original letter which is what he requested.

A tearful Carmen and Arturo discuss Uli and visit him in jail. Despite his horrible ordeal, Uli is in agony over Acacia’s rejection. Perla and Danilo show up to throw insults and threats. Uli asserts his innocence and Carmen goes after Danilo, a ferocious mother lion. Danilo, along with us, is rather startled. We cheer loudly as Danilo shrinks back from her verbal and physical attack. Danilo and Uli have a stare down. Juliana shows up to further torment Carmen about Andres and rubs the fact German is his son in her face. The taunting ends when Norberto arrives. Later, Norberto knocks back shots and he and Juliana discuss German and Andres. Oddly, Juliana picks up a basket with crafting material.

Andres finally arrives and Carmen is unwelcoming as Andres tries to explain. He says something Carmen and Uli thank him for (can someone help please?)

Hector picks a most inopportune time to return to the hacienda and runs into Acacia. Acacia greets him by laying the blame for Este leaving Cris squarely on his shoulders. Hector is caught unaware and rightly protests by pointing out that Cris has done nothing wrong but that Este refused to accept that. Acacia tries to excuse Este’s jealousy but her words are falling on deaf ears. Staring at Acacia, he tells her that jealousy is not a reason enough to leave. He says there is something amiss, and that minor misunderstandings aren’t enough to undermine a solid, loving relationship. He tells her Este is not her responsibility. It is as though he sees right through her. She tells him to leave.

Hector is giving instructions to the staff about the art work he is returning and Cris arrives, looking none too happy to see him. He offers some consolation as Este stalks up and screams “Cristina”. He refuses to listen as Hector tries to explain why he is there. Cris sternly asks Este why he is there as Rubio lurks in the background. Este goes to hit Hector as Acacia shows up. Acacia defends her mother as Este scowls and demurs. Rubio rubs salt in Este’s festering wound by taunting him with Uli and then Manuel. Este glares at Manuel who is within sight, offering a consoling hug to Acacia.

Acacia whines to Cris about Uli and the letter she never saw.

German later sees his painting of Ale and is distraught that the show is cancelled. He later goes to Lizzy who comforts him with a warm, lingering kiss.

Part 2

Acacia visits Alonso, who continues his afterlife suffering, forced to endure her laments about Uli, his guilt and the fact she is the center of the universe and the recipient of all of life’s unfairness.

Now ensconced in Ale’s old room, German reiterates his happy family no longer exists and laments to Manuel Ale did not even take the Sacred Heart painting. Cris enters and Manuel breaks the news about Ulises.

Juli calls Andres and Lizzy shows up – Juli is less than welcoming as she eyes Lizzy up and down rather scathingly.

Rosa has Ale’s shoe box with the diary which Luisa eyes. Rosa slaps her away.

Ale hides as Danilo beats Memo savagely. Perla grabs her hair and pulls her away. Ale fights back and when Perla tries to hit her, Ale grabs her and stops her. She is fierce in defending herself. Further, to make it crystal clear who has the upper hand, Ale kisses Danilo and then turns and stares at Perla. Danilo dismisses a shaken Perla. A bloody Memo and a crushed Perla commiserate and share a tender moment as Perla tells him he is special. Later Danilo reminds Perla Ale is his wife and that he controls her, not Perla. However, Danilo enters the bedroom as Ale is on the phone with Acacia discussing Uli and grabs the phone. Much to our disgust and revulsion, he unbuttons his shirt and reminds her of her obligations, leaving us no doubt of what those are.

Later, Memo points a gun at Patricio’s head as the latter cowers in fear. Memo hesitates but is shaking in fury apparently convinced of some subterfuge on Patricio’s part.

At dinner with her family, Cris is not feeling well. Acacia complains to Juan Carlos who leaves to check on Cris.

Manuel and Acacia are with German and Lizzy who share another kiss.

Este quizzes Rubio about Uli and then Manuel. It appears Este tells Rubio something that startles him (he is going after Acacia?)

And the huge event of the evening – Cris tells Rosa she is pregnant. It is hard to read her unfathomable face – she is smiling but surely her heart is breaking.

Previews – More scowling Esteban. I believe Cris tells Acacia she is pregnant.

Scenes have been combined for continuity and are not necessarily in order. Please fill in what I missed.

Thank you for posting the link Vivi!

The saddest thing about tonight's episode for me was that Ale is trying so desperately to be strong and bring Danilo down. For every single, very small step she takes, Danilo always has the edge and is right there, making her pay dearly for every word uttered and action taken.

Will anyone come to her aid?

Sleep well everyone.

Diana

Diana- I stayed up just to read your great recap. Thanks!

Here are the bits you wanted clarity on:

Andres reported that Nuria was arrested in the States, trying to escape to the Caribbean. She will be brought to Mexico soon. Yay! This is a result of Andres using his Miami contacts.

Ale overheard Dan talking to Memo about Uli, while she was eavesdropping. Perla accused her in front of Dan of trying to betray him. Ale was about to share what she overheard with Acacia when Dan showed up. He's cutting off her phone privileges. She can only make calls in front of him.

Dan ordered Memo to kill Patricio since Uli gave a description of him to the cops. Pat begged for his life, but Memo explained that although he's known him his whole life and doesn't want to kill him, it's either Pat's life or his own. Dan would have him killed.

Este has decided that it's Acacia he wants. He's so decided that he wants to permanently get rid of Uli. He asks Rubio to put him in touch with his narco kidnapper friends. Clearly, Rubio can't expose Dan like that, so he tells Este that it's best if Este contacts them through him, and not directly.

Diana- I was sad for Ale this episode for two reasons. First, she's in the lions den, absolutely surrounded by them, trying bravely to bring them down. Meanwhile, the love of her life is spending the evening happily making out with a cute girl, while she has to service disgusting Dan.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy that German finally had a bright spot in his string of crappy days. Just hated going from him and Lizzy making out, to Dan licking his chops and ordering Ale to undress. Blech!

Thank you so much for adding those very important details Vivi. There are times that frankly, I just cannot follow the dialog and greatly appreciate your providing these.

I thank you for staying up to read the recap and hope you continue to feel better. Please take care of yourself.

I was glad that German received solace but my intuition tells me his heart is still with Ale.

So Este is planning another murder. Although Acacia has been nothing but a disappointment, she certainly does not deserve him.

And here Cris is pregnant with his child!

I often wonder if Uli and Ale will survive. My mind is uncertain but my heart says that they have endured too much to be lost, particularly Ale. No one deserves to live more and happily ever after than she.

Diana

Desperation is the word that comes to my mind now. So many characters are drowning in their desperation.

Diana- I have wondered for a long time if Ale will be a sacrificial lamb-- sacrificing herself to save others. The arrival of Lizzy, a nice girl who German seems to really like, has made me fear that even more. The fact that Ale's also not related to anyone in the story seems to make that even more of a possibility.

Uli, on the other hand, has a mother and brother who would be devastated if he died. Plus, they've already endured his disappearance. I'm more optimistic about his chances, although I don't think his suffering has ended yet. There are too many people gunning for him.

Vivi, Ale is the heart of this for me. After watching these so many years, I know better than to be so invested. And yet...

There is no happy ending that would suffice for me unless she is part of that equation.

Sigh...

Diana

Thanks for the summary/recap Diana.

Although it disgusted me to see Dan force Ale to be his for a night, I did like the show she put on in front of Perla. It was humorous to me to see her kiss Dan and be all lovey dovey and obedient.

It looks like things are getting serious between Germán and Lizzy. I bet he's moving fast to get back at Ale because he thinks she moved on fast, but I agree that he won't stop loving Ale no matter how he thinks she hurt him.

I'm curious to see how Cris' pregnancy will go. I wonder when she will tell Esteloco.

"Esteloco" - good one TF!

And how will he react? I can't imagine that wouldn't stop both Este and Acacia in their tracks. To proceed with anything once they find out would be even more reprehensible.

Diana

Excellent and thank Diana, and for the fills Vivi.

German is moving too quick but Lizzy even told him she knows he loves Ale so will take what she can get. Always bothers me when folks are ok with this and bothers me more because Lizzy a cute nice girl.

Ale must have been good at her craft because that sweet loving kiss laid on Pimp Dan sure did the trick and put Perla in her place.

I don't give a flip what's in Uli's letter but would love to read Ale's journal along with Luisa when she gets her paws on it.

Esteban can go straight to hell now. I was trying to give him the benefit of a conscience but flat ass wrong.

Cris should tell the father of her child she is pregnant. Period.

I still fail to see why Hector believes he has the right to insert himself into the conversation concerning the relationship between Cris and Esteban. With his declaration of love for her, that was forfeited. He is no longer a concerned friend but a romantically interested party and Cris should tell him so, again.

I loved the candid conversation between Juliana & Norberto. They do not love nor respect each other and all pretense gone.

tofie, I totally agree that Cris must tell Este about the baby.

I so enjoy all the different viewpoints on our characters. I totally respect your opinion on Hector and understand why you feel that way. If Este and Cris were truly happy and murder and Acacia hadn't gotten in the way, I would think he was interfering. But, I am so worried about Cris after the hovering anvils fall, I am glad and relieved he is thre.

And you hit the nail on the head about Norbie and Juli. It's all real and it's all bad. :)

Diana

I wish that Ale had hidden the journal in her old room, thereby upping the chances that German would find it and read it, which would have been perfect. Now that it's in Rosa's care, who knows whose hands it will end up in. Probably Rubio!

I do worry about Cris, believe those closest to her, deceiving her and reprehensible but all Hector is accusingly inserting is a hunch he hopes is right because it benefits him. She has told her own parents to put a sock in it, separated Acacia from involvement yet Hector pops up like he owns the place. I know he was told to drop the stuff off and know Cris a little put out he was there, but until Cris establishes him as her partner & defender it is none of his business. He has ignored the memo.

If Hector wants to protect Cris and would open his eyes, he'd rip that machete off Rubio's belt and lop off his head.

WOW! WOW! WOW! D for Drama== must
be translated to Malquerida. All
of the people that didn't want to watch this one because of the subject matter are sure missing out. What a show! Are the edges of seats/chairs becoming worn out all across America?

A big thank you Diana and Vivi.

I have so many thoughts about last night's episode. I hope that I don't write too much. You guys might get tired of the gringo rambling on too long, but I must.

I was surprised to see Alejandra stand up to Perla. She, Alejandra
was shaking like a leaf early on when the two met, but not anymore.
Has hate, anger and revolution taken over?

Diana---Your Acacia visits Alonso
sentence was pure perfection. Acacia laments that she is the center of the universe and the recipient of all of life's unfairness. Diana, I repeat, pure perfection.

So Friday when Cris tells Acacia
that she is pregnant, Will Acacia feel ashamed about the Este kiss
or was it kisses? Anyway I don't think that she really has any deep feelings for little puissant
Manuel Palacios. She visits Ulises
Friday is a long way away, I can't wait.

More later.
the gringo

gringo, thank you for your kind words.

I am totally with you on being sorry for those not watching - they are SO missing out!

I think Ale's anger at Danilo is starting to percolate - it is what is fueling her now. She needs that hatred to survive and to try and get her life back.

And I am hoping Acacia does feel guilty when she learns about Cris - as well she should! I'm not so confident she will leave Este alone though.

I also agree that Acacia just wants Manuel's shoulder to lean on and not much else from him :)

gringo, always look forward to your thoughts and comments!

Diana

Alejandra was always one tough cookie. It took guts to try to escape from Dan the first time when she was a teen. Only beating, slashing, and threats against her brother kept her in line for the next near decade. But considering how Dan and Perla describe her, she was never really “broken” and had moments of rebellion. She obviously must have learned to just do her job over the years. I imagine she just went to another place in her head when she was with her johns or with Danilo. She was another person in that setting. She was Turquesa.

After her brother died, she once again made a super gutsy/brave move and escaped! And stole what she thought was a briefcase full of money on the way out. Think about how crazy brave that was! She was running down a street at full speed carting the briefcase, with a guy with a gun in hot pursuit behind her. She hid out, she got herself on a bus out of town. This is a girl who was never a scared mouse.

But when she got to El Soto, she shed the Turquesa persona, and I think she finally started to suffer from the effects of PTSD. PTSD from a being sold at 13, being raped, forced into prostitution, living her life as Turquesa, living in fear for a decade, and then finally, watching her little brother die in her arms. Add to the PTSD that she was scared witless that Dan would find her and drag her back to that life, and the fear that she would be rejected by the new people in her life. She desperately hid any signs of her old life (the scar), wouldn’t let men touch her or get close to her, had nightmares, and seemed close to having a breakdown when faced with the prospect that Perla and/or Dan had found her.

But now the worst has happened--Dan found her and forced her back into his world. Ale’s gone back into survival (Turquesa) mode now. Unfortunately, she is still trying to hide her past for fear of rejection from her new friends (mainly German). And she’s trying to keep people safe, like she did with her brother all those years.

Vivi, do we know when Ale started the diary? Was it just since her escape?

In any case, I believe she likely would have written about her years in forced prostitution. If German had found it, perhaps the written word might have been easier to digest than Ale having to tell him the terrible truth face to face.

I believe the journal will survive and am pinning my money and hope on Luisa finding it.

Diana

She only started to keep the diary after revealing to Cris that she was abused at 13. Cris is the one who suggested she start writing about her life/feelings in a journal as a way of starting her healing process.

Great thoughts on Ale, Vivi. What a life and Turquesa is who we saw kiss Danny last night. Africa is doing a wonderful job as two persona's, seamlessly, within milliseconds, switching on and off.

I think it's interesting that she didn't even want to be called by her childhood name, Ana, after she escaped. Ana was who she was up till she was 13. Then she became Turquesa, her slave name. And then she CHOSE Alejandra, her middle name, after she started her new life. If this were another kind of story, I could see writing a character study of someone with serious multiple personality disorder.

But Ale does have two different personalities, depending on the situation she's in.

Wonderful comments. You could all be life coaches. Ale is a survivor who has learned to be pragmatic and clever.

I am glad that Hector is being persistent and not giving up of Cris. He senses Este 's true nature. He must have good instincts and be good at reading people and noticing behavior and attitude.

Watching someone you love in a bad relationship is awful...been there...done that. You feel helpless and worried.

Diana, thanks for a terrific mini-recap. Vivi, thanks for the additions. This is a textured, engrossing story, and I’m amazed that both of you keep up with all its nuances so well, so quickly.

I kept hoping Perla would see the light (for longer than 5 seconds) and throw in with Ale’s plan, but she’s just too damaged. I'm done with her.

Yay, for Carmen! I had my money on her to whup Danilo with his own cane. Maybe another day, when Arturo isn’t there to interrupt. But now Carmen needs to stop giving Andres the cold shoulder. Even if German were a lousy turncoat, Andres has the right to try to get close to his own son. Carmen as a mother should understand that.

German, hey dude, Uli gave you a place to stay when your dad kicked you out and you had no place to go and even though your own brother Manuel had screwed him over. Is it too much to ask that you visit Uli in jail and at least bring him a sandwich or some toiletries?

My bet is on Luisa to get to Ale’s diary first. Luisa is a romantic and probably just dying to read what she thinks are Ale’s love musings.

Hector is a buttinski, but I like it. He can see the thing between Acacia and Esteban and he doesn’t want to see Cris alone in this thing. Juan Carlos and Elenita would never sense what’s happening unless they came across stepdad-stepdaughter in a clinch, and likely that would make JC have the big one. Hector, you just keep on popping up because at this point I’m not sure that Esteban won’t arrange an unfortunate “accident” for Cris.

Acacia is a mystery to me. I don’t think she has any intention of pursuing Esteban, yet seeing her mother hurt is not enough to stop her from wanting him. In other stories I’ve seen about mother-daughter rivalry, the daughter or mother hates the other for some past wrong so taking the other’s man is more justifiable. When the mother and daughter get along as well as these two, letting a man come between them is just nuts.

Diana,

You're right. Esteban's reaction to Cris' pregnancy may prove to be pretty important. I think it's a deciding factor in both of their opinions as to if Esteloco will return to La Benavente. Will Cris be ready for that or is she just counting on Esteloco to make the right decision?

I agree with what you all are saying about Ale. I think her anger and determination to make Dan pay for everything he's done will keep her alive. She has a lot to fight for. It's partly, if you wanna say, *avenging*, her brother's death as well as protecting her new friends and the man she loves. If anyone deserves a happy ending it's her.

Vivi---I read your comment and understand what you are saying and while I agree with some of what you said, I don't agree with all of it.
You start out with Alejandra was always one tough cookie. I don't see it that way. When you are sold and raped at thirteen you go into survival mode. I don't call that being tough although some might argue that. I call it doing what you have to do just to survive and hope that you can help save your brother along the way. But being tough, not necessarily. The escape was not a great act of toughness or heroism
it was an act of desperation and she was scarred half out of her wits, I would have been too. So I don't call that toughness, I call it desperation, I can't take this any more. Stealing what she thought was money was not toughness either. She had no way to survive and so she needed money

When she finally got away and reached El Soto she was a little scaredy-cat for quite a long time.
I would have been to but one tough cookie? No.

It is just recently that she is becoming strong and I think that it is mostly out of anger and hate

Don't get me wrong, I am a big Alejandra fan but I see her as becoming strong not as always having been strong. And believe me, If I had gone through what she has had to go through I don't think I would have been a great tower of strength either. It takes time to build strength and that is what I see happening now.
the gringo

Gringo- We're going to have to disagree on this one. When you talk to tough soldiers, they describe their experiences in the same way you describe Ale. They're scared, but the do what they have to do to survive, they make quick survival decisions in the moment, AND they willingly sacrifice themselves to help others. Ale was in a war for 10 years doing exactly that. And like a soldier back from battle, she had an emotional break. Does that take away from her 10 years of bravery? Or take away from the bravery she needs to summon again when she goes back into battle? Not in my book.

Ok, we disagree. I say that Alejandra is building her strength while you say that she has had it all along. Ok, fair enough.

One comment that really scares me is that Alejandra just may be a sacrificial lamb. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that this is a movie, a novela and therefore isn't real,
but NO!!!!!!!!!!! I don't want to see that. She doesn't have family. I know that in real life everything is not always lollypops
and rainbows but pleas writers don't do that to us, I beg you NO!
I don't want Alejandra to be sacrificed trying to do whatever she may do. That would be just terrible. That would put a big, a very big dark cloud over La Malquerida.

So German is on the fast track with Lizzy trying to forget Ale.
Lizzy is a nice lady but I just can't see her with German. I can't, I just can't.

I thought that Carmen was just great last night. Momma lion Yes, that she was. Forgiveness is a great virtue but if I was her and all of those people turned against me like these people, forgive? Well I'm not so sure that I could.

Patricio---I knew that he was going to go down. Ulises recognized him, he had to go.

I think that the Ale's diary will play a key role in the story but I don't see that happening until close to the end.

So Esteban wants to become a double murderer. Get rid of Acacia's boy friends so as to leave things open for him. Dream on Estebone.

Esteloco---Another new name? I think that Esteban has the longest list of names that I have seen in a novela.

There's no way that Cris will end
back up with Esteban. I can see him going off the deep end and getting smashed with a novela anvil.

I thought that it was just sickening when DevilDan threatened Ulises in jail. I can't wait to see the last of his evil looking face.

It's a long time until Friday.
the gringo

Gringo- I agree with you too that Ale is building her strength as well. I think she will need to get stronger, and more cunning, if she hopes to take down Dan.

The unfairness of Dan taunting Uli from the OTHER side of the bars last night was sickening.

Did anyone else catch how bada** Uli was when his cellmate thought that he would be easy pickings and tried to intimidate Uli into giving him his blanket? I had to laugh, because the cellmate wasn't expecting that. Uli stood up and said something like, I've had enough things taken from me!

Niecie, thanks so much for your always supportive comments.

"Luisa is a romantic and probably just dying to read what she thinks are Ale’s love musings". What a great line - I can see that in my mind's eye.

"Hector, you just keep on popping up because at this point I’m not sure that Esteban won’t arrange an unfortunate “accident” for Cris". Oh noes! My head is spinning but you may have a point.
I am so concentrated on Danilo's evil, I am forgetting that Este's evil machinations are growing daily. If he does decide to pursue Acacia at all costs, it would not be inconvenient to have her mother around which would likely put a damper on his new relationship with say, her entire family and all their friends?

There are so many possibilities and I so enjoy we never really know what will transpire next.

I agree with you Vivi that Ale is and always has been very tough. A will of steel but a heart of gold. She never lost the ability to care, to nuture and to support others, even when her world continued to crumble around her. Danilo took most things from her but never her capacity to love.

Diana

Vivi, I was typing fast and furious and the scene with Uli and his cellmate went by me too quickly for me to catch anything.

Good for Uli!

Diana

Gringo,

I came up with "Esteloco". I usually refer to him as "Estebonkers" but I decided to put something different and Esteloco makes sense as two words too.

Vivi,

I was glad to see Uli stand his ground and not let his cell mate intimidate him.

I wonder what the conclusion of the Memo/Patricio scene will be.

So you guys don't agree with me about Ale. That's fine, people don't always agree but I was never on a debating team so I am thinking that I may not have stated my points well. Here goes for the last time as I don't want to belabor my points.

Alejandra was sold into sex slavery at a young age-thirteen.
She must have been terrified, who wouldn't be? She was like a scared little mouse in front of a cat but as the years slowly went by, she learned how to go along to get along and in the process she did what she could to help her sick, ailing brother. Strong woman, Wonder Woman, I don't think so. Anyone in her situation
would have done the same thing. Yes even young boys or young men. They get sold into slavery too.
Years later she had a chance to escape and even though she was scared half out of her mind, she took it and was almost caught but got away. Wonder Woman? No, just a scared little mouse trying to get free of the cat. I think that Alejandra would have run as far away as she could go and never look back but come to find out the money that she thought that she had was instead drugs which she destroyed. She made her way to El Soto where she made friends and felt safe. A strong woman, Wonder Woman type would have started plotting or trying to find a way to bring down the evil place where she had come from but Ale never gave this idea a thought. She ran from it, and wanted to block her unhappy past from her mind. It wasn't until recently that she once again found herself back in the same evil that she had run away from and now, she is starting to find a way to crush or end this evil around her. She is or I hope that she becomes Wonder Woman but up until now she definitely wasn't. She had a lot of good luck but like Vivi said, if she thinks she can take DanEvil down, she will have to learn to be far more cunning than she is now. My hope is that she doesn't die trying. That would be just terrible. Will her diary be opened and read after her heroic death? I hope it doesn't end that way but I am getting a bad feeling about her being the Malquerida. Please no, she deserves some happiness.

Univision didn't show Patricio being murdered but I'm thinking that he had to be because Uli recognized him.

Nuria has been caught trying to leave the country. Will she tell all for a lighter sentence?

I am surprised that no one has thought about a lot of what has been happening centers around or involves Acacia the sole inheritor of Buenavente.
the gringo

Ok, I like the latin grammies, but i like my novelas much more!!! I hate anything that gets in the way of them.
Really really do. I will seek solace in reading the recap and many comments. Thanks to all of you. Sorry for my berinche, needed to get off my chest. Also, needed to say Yuk Yuk Yuk, still grossed out with the ending scene when Dandevil finishes scolding Ale in the bedroom and he asks her to undress and then makes the most perverted face with his eyes rolling up and his mouth open as if in nasty gross ecstasy, And you can see the sorriest saddest look on Ale's face realiizing she will need to endure another disgusting sex w Grossest man in the world.

Novella lover---Was that ending on Univision or somewhere else? I didn't remember anything that gross shown on Univision. Maybe that ending was cut.
the gringo

Diana & Vivi,
Thanks for the awesome work on the recap and the additional explanations.

I am beginning to dislike Acacia more and more. I don't want to hate her, but she is really annoying me right now. She goes on and on about how she doesn't want her mom to suffer, and how she wants her mom and Estekiller to be together again. I don't think she knows what she wants. If she wanted her mom to be happy then she would be honest with her. Yes, it would be painful to tell Cris that Este and her kissed, but it's better to find out from her, rather than someone else. Cris needs to know the kind of man she is married to. Then she will understand why Este left the house. I also think that Acacia wants Este to come back to the hacienda because she misses him. Of course Acacia is going to keep quiet, especially now that her mother is pregnant.

Novella lover, ITA,
"And you can see the sorriest saddest look on Ale's face realiizing she will need to endure another disgusting sex w Grossest man in the world."

Hasta pronto!

How many more episodes will we have to watch the evil ones win and the good lose ?

gringo, I agree with your assessment of Ale. Her's is a life of becoming instead of a slide after a push, catching herself, and pressing on.

I also paid close attention to Norberto's, Manuel's and Dan's plan (Manuel & Acacia marry which requires Uli & Esteban be removed) to wrest the ranch from the hands of Acacia once she is in possession, knowing that it the easiest road to pay dirt.

Also, Rubio intimated to Esteban, Cris could be removed and Esteban and Acacia would have the ranch so he is playing both ends.

For any of these plans Cris & Uli will have to die and Acacia choose (tricked or left with) either Manuel or Esteban. Who will be left standing?

I don't think we know yet if Memo pulled the trigger. He was having a lot of trouble doing it. Guess it's easier to kill innocent people than your partner in crime.

Hi AuntyAnn.

Thanks so much.

As you can tell, I am in total agreement with you regarding Acacia. I think she is confused about her feelings but that is absolutely no excuse. She crossed the line and there is no going back. And yes, she should have spoken up.

tofie, I can't imagine Cris being killed but your rationale makes sense.

I am hanging my head tin shame that I ever, ever thought there might be any chance of salvation for Rubio. He is vile and wretched.

Vivi, I don't think Memo killed Patricio. I think he is capable of killing - I felt he would have shot Uli in the park that day had Acacia not arrived. I just think his history with Patricio stopped him. Vivi, has Memo killed before?

Diana

Novella lover, last night I kept looking at the clock but realized LM isn't on tonight! I really missed it...

Susanlynn, there are several wonderful characters in severe jeopardy at the moment. I will say again that Uli is alive only as he is jail. In terms of everyone else, all bets are off.

I have a feeling Danilo and Este will be "with us" far too long. The primary villains seem to linger far too long, until the bitter end. It seems that secondary ones are sacrificed much earlier. I would not shed any tears for Norberto or Rubio. But who knows? They may be standing and surviving through the bitter end.

Diana

I think we'll have our big baddies with us to the bitter end.

Vivi and Gringo, I actually agree with both of you. Ale has been whipped down, but she's a surviver and a fighter and now has grown into an avenger. She's had to go it alone all these years, but I hope Ale realizes soon that she needs to let someone else in on her plan. Maybe Acacia, though of course wise Cris would be much better.

I really have no idea where this story is headed except for the one spoiler my student blurted out to me. Cannot wait to see the next episode.

I think that Luisa is going to want to check out the shoes in that shoebox and find Ale's diary, but who knows when.

Susanlynn- You should tell your students that you'll dock their grades if they let any more spoilers about your tns slip. :)

I am starting to wonder if Memo is going to turn on Damn...all those beatings. I do not think that he killed Pat.

As for Ale, I think that you can be scared but still be strong, resourceful, resilient, and clever. Go, Ale.

I just found this definition of bravery, which compares it to courage, fearlessness, etc. Quite interesting actually-- I had never really compared these words in my own mind before:

"Brave is the most comprehensive: it is especially used for that fortitude that faces and endures anything threatening. Courageous implies a higher or nobler kind of bravery, especially as resulting from an inborn quality of mind or spirit that faces or endures perils or difficulties without fear and even with enthusiasm. Valiant implies a correspondence between an inner courageousness and external deeds, particularly of physical strength or endurance. Fearless implies unflinching spirit and coolness in the face of danger. Gallant implies a chivalrous, impetuous, or dashing bravery."

This novela is being put on my all time favorites list. I have read all of the comments and my head is about to explode. Which way will this story go? There are so many possibilities, so many things that could happen or are about to happen. I love it, it keeps me crying for more. This is Drama with a capital D.

Will Memo turn on Dan? Well someone needs to turn on him that's for sure. Where will Perla
go in all of this? Will she change sides or will she just pretend to change sides in an effort to win back the devil?
I too think that Luisa, the romantic one will read Ale's diary
but when? Will Norberto turn on Dan? Remember the secretly recorded video. We have a main event in the making with Juliana vs. Carmen. Acacia is a confused mess, who knows which way she will go. Rubio the mystery guy playing both ends makes him very interesting but his damn toothpicks are driving me mad. I want to take them all and burn them. Arturo y Luisa? Nuria? How will Ulises make it out? The list
goes on and on and on. The thing that has me the most worried of all is the Malquerida. Who is the unloved? I am starting to believe
in the sacrificial lamb theory and I don't like it at all. Think about it---Alejandra has never known love. Well she did have a few moments of bliss but nothing long lasting. She went back to the devil in an effort to save German's life because of her love for him but now---German is becoming involved with Lizzy who is a nice lady herself. If by some miracle Alejandra could somehow break free from the devil's grip and run back to German, What would that do to Lizzy? Break her heart, I think so. So is the sacrificial lamb the final ending? The unloved, Alejandra? I sure hope not. I really like Ale's character and besides it's not fair. But on the other hand, live isn't always fair. I hope that I'm wrong.

I don't want anything to happen to Cris but the doers of evil deeds all benefit with her removal. The uncomfortable truth is they all have pinned their hopes on manipulating the daughter knowing Cris unmovable and sitting atop an enviable goldmine.

Vivi...very interesting. Synonyms are what makes learning English vocabulary such a challenge.

Susanlynn- I believe the next harvest of crops (not cotton) is supposed to get them out of the hole, if it's a good one. But they are not there yet.

We have sooo many words and so many words with several meanings...words with silent letters...letters with more than one pronunciation (like c and g )...words that change pronunciation depending on if they are verbs or nouns..etc.

Gringo- That is exactly what I'm loving about this tn. Nothing is predictable. Not one thing. Not even who will be the happy couple at the end, which is usually the one thing we know from episode one.

Cris and Este- Hell no! Not now that we know he killed her first husband, and has made the decision to pursue her daughter.

Acacia and Uli- Big question mark. First, she doesn't deserve him. Second, she's lusting after her stepfather in a major way!

Ale and German- She's broken his heart, he's moved on to a perfectly nice girl, and she's put herself in the heart of danger, lowering her life expectancy dramatically.

Arturo and Luisa- She doesn't deserve him, and just can't seem to get over her Manuel fixation, no matter how badly he treats her.

Carmen and Andres- Girlfriend needs to drop the attitude about German. If she can't accept his kid, then he needs to dump her.

Right Vivi, so unpredictable. Who knew that this one would turn out so good.

I am holding out hope for Luisa. I really like her and I know that her problem is I'm stuck on Manuel
But---let's not sell Arturo short.
Give hem a little more time to work his magic and hopefully Luisa will finally see the light.

The funny think is, Acacia the star of the show, I've almost written off. Yes I admit that her bikini body has great stopping power but come on girl start using your brain. I'm loosing interest in you.

Vivi---Your dictionary words comparison are great. While reading it, a few things jumped out at me. First bravery is compared to courage, fearless etc.
Well that leaves bravery and courage out because they are connected to fearless and Ale certainly has a lot of fear. Dan has a way of instilling fear into people. Next I noticed bravery which it says is an inborn quality of mind and spirit that faces peril without fear. Without fear, here we go again so I guess that bravery can be crossed out. I'm more confused now than before.
So many words with so many meanings. Yes Susanlynn English can blow your mind sometimes. I find it hard myself and I was born here. Trying to teach it???

My bottom line is this. I don't know which is the right word to use concerning Alejandra but she is getting stronger and I like that. Just be careful Alejandra we don't want to loose you.

Gringo- I won't write Arturo off, but I feel like he is such a clear great choice that he shouldn't have to work so hard for Luisa to see it. She's blind!

The definition of just plain bravery is fortitude and endurance when facing a threat. Courageous and valiant are the types of bravery that includes fearlessness. Basically, there are different types of bravery, and courage, valor, and gallantry are the more showy types that we usually associate with heroes/heroines. It's quite interesting how all those words are associated. They are similar, but they aren't the same.

LOL---Talking about a tough cookie
It's Luisa. She's a hard nut to crack. Oh my gosh. Yes Arturo has his work cut out for him. If he can only get her blinders off, they'll do just fine.

This day off yesterday is like a weekend. Us Caray mates have a little more time to spend sharing ideas, it's great.

It is amazing that Ale hasn't gone off the deep end after seeing Damn Dan push Olga off that roof and then smother her mother in her bed. Girl has grit.

It is quite evident that Rubio will push anyone under the bus if it is to his advantage, and he knows secrets about so many bad dudes..Estevil, Damn, Norb.

If you follow Rubio one day every plot unravels. He's a nasty blood sucking horse fly.

tofie...I have never seen this guy do any work. He just skulks around and eavesdrops. Blecchh.

Diane and Vivi what a great team you both are. Your writing styled compliment each other. Tofie, susanlynn, and our own Gringo all of you have made wonderful contribtuons as well. By the time I finish reafing recaps, I forget exactly who said what. Except that you all have me more addicted to blog than novela itself. I read a few comments every chance I get, at traffic light, gricery checkout, doctor's.

Gringo, that gross scene was
When he told Ale yo undress to do her duty. It was quick shot, but he was making this weird quivery face, as Vivi said licking his lips.
We might all hsving our little different viewpoints, but one thing we all agree in is Alejandra. Yes, she could be case study the way you goes back and forth from Turquesa and Ale. She has become endearing to us because of how sweet, strong, brave and yes scared, but yet there she goes trying to help Perla, Luisa,
German and she never thinks about herself at all. Stark contrast to Acacia who as someone said, thinks she is the center of universe. Poor acacia, boo-hoo-hoo. And Ale would almost rather die than trouble anyone with her sorrows. She is an angel who been used and abused. We all want her to be happy, but I dont have good feeling and agree that she could end up as sacrificial victim to save people she loves. Oh yes, ITA that German needs to go see Ult. Right thing to do, and am sure he will.

Diana thanks for the detailed recaps. I enjoyed reading them. And Vivi, your sharp details are most helpful to me who sometimes skip this (ok< Gringo)now getting to be intriguing novella because of its subject matter. My husband said"I thought you are not watching that tn" And I said, well I don't want to miss what's going on, or I won't be able to yell at Esteloco, and Acacia. Who was it that said it's like a Shakespearean tragedy, was it Tofie? And also I enjoy watching Danevil and Perla together. They're really good. I also watched them last year on an old tn "Entre en el amor y odio"( is it?) and they were good too.
Seems that I will need to go on and watch this tn. Thanks.
Anne
