Mi Corazon Es Tuyo #75 The Effects of Herbs, Sugar, and Prescription Pills

We start where we left off, with Nando ignoring his 5th phone call from Ximena. Meanwhile, Ximena thinks the best thing to do is to end her life, finds some pills in a drawer, and contemplates taking them.

Lascuráin Mansion
Fanny walks in on Ana and Fernando sleeping together and her shrieks wake up Ana. Ana tries to explain that nothing happened, she left the door open, the light is on, and they’re still in their pajamas. But Ana can’t figure out why Fer is acting so strange.
Finally it dawns on her that it must be the tea she made for him. She lists the ingredients, but she’s not sure which one he would have a reaction from. Fanny teases her in a cute, sweet and loving way, she’s happy to see them together, even if it’s because her father is in a delirious state. Ana wants to come sleep in Fanny’s room with her, but Fanny says no way, and leaves. Ana crawls back into bed, Fer rolls over and spoons her, Ana objects at first, but then realizes how nice it feels and settles in for the night.

Club Chicago

Jonny is taking a picture with a new ‘fan’ of his. Really!?! Jenn is properly impressed, and Jonny says watch out William Levy, (William Levy has nothing to worry about, at all). She tells him that she and Nico had their first fight over her wanting to continue working at Chicago.

The following morning
Fernando wakes, looks around and realizes he’s in bed with Ana in Ana’s room. He shouts at the revelation, jumps out of bed and wonders why he’s there. Ana asks if he doesn’t remember what happened last night, and with her fingers crossed behind her back, she’s leads him to believe that they got it on.

Ana is telling Fanny what Fernando thinks they did last night. Fanny loves it. Ana asks where Alicia is and Luz tells her that she doesn’t want breakfast because she thinks she’s too fat, and OMG, we’re going to now go there too. It’s like the writers read a book on every angst a child can go through and they’re throwing them all into this novela.
Fer walks in, kisses the kids, asks why Fanny didn’t wake him when she got in, and she tells him that she wanted to but he wasn’t in his bed. Fer quickly sits down and mentions  that he needs to talk to the twins about something serious. Ana leaves and Fer asks why Fanny is looking at him so funny, she tells him Ana told her everything that happened last night.

León is taking Mau to school, Mau must have aged a couple of years since we first saw him. He looks and acts like he’s at least 5, and he was 3 when we first met him. He asks if León is going to marry Fanny. He tells him that maybe they will later down the road when he’s more settled in a good job.

Ana tries to calm Nando down, affirming that he did the right thing with respect to Ximena. They hug.

Isabela runs into Sebastian in the hallway. Literally. She yells at him and he respectfully asks if she’s ok. No she’s not, everything that is happening to her is his fault. She tells him that his father wants to divorce her and this seems to be the first he’s heard of it. She blames him for this, but he wisely tells her that it’s not his fault, but her fault. He’s not afraid of her anymore, and she can’t hurt him. She tells him how much she hates him, he says that makes two of us. Just then Ana walks past, has a few not pleasant words with her and leaves. Isabela throws a temper tantrum at the screen.

Ana walks into the girls room to get Luz ready for school and sees Alicia on the scale. Ana convinces her to come down to breakfast, she’s not fat, yada yada yada.
A little while later, Ana is seeing the kids off to school, but before they leave, she asks to see what is in the twin’s bags they are carrying. They empty them on the couch and they are filled with bags and bags of candy. Now we know why they are acting like they have ADD. Fer comes down the stairs and tells the boys that they need to have healthy snacks to bring to school and to have Manuela make them some. Then they will go to a specialist to see why they are having concentration problems at school.

Jonny stupidness, nobody cares. He’s got a big head now that he thinks he’s a star and is acting like an ass. We move along.

In Fernando’s home office, Ana asks Fer how much longer Isa will be in the house. Fer thinks that she just needs to be in bed a couple of days and then she will be gone. Huh! She’s never leaving. Fer wants to know about the previous night. Ana asks if he wants the good news or the bad news first. The good news is he slept through the night. The bad news, the tea made him sleepwalk.

Ooh, very long story made short, they fire Jonny. Yes!

Back to Fer and Ana. She explains that the tea made him react that way. Nico and Jenny arrive. They are taking Manuela to see the specialist for IVF, they leave. Fer wants to know what happened between them last night. She fesses up that nothing happened, she was just playing with his mind. He asks her to come with him to his meeting about the twins behavior problems.

Ximena’s maid finds Ximena on the floor passed out. The maid calls Fanny instead of an ambulance. Fanny and her new goth girlfriend run off to see to this problem. Nando is at the school when Laura puts the moves on him again. She tells him that she has to leave because of her losing her scholarship.
Fanny and goth girl arrive to see medics working on Ximena.

At the fertility specialist’s waiting room, Manuela is nervous, Bruno calms her, Jenny gets a call from Jonny whining about his job loss.

In the car to the appointment, Ana tells Fer that she doesn’t like the idea of giving the boys drugs to calm them down. She wants to find other alternatives. She’s been researching on the internet what else they can do for them.  Fer gives her that puppy dog look that makes us both melt, and he takes her hand. Thanks for your involvement, he says, she says they are a team, remember?

Ximena isn’t dead, but she’s delicate. I think she needs to be re-institutionalized. Fanny calls Nando while Laura is going in for the kiss. Nando is saved by the phone ring.

Nico and Jen drop Manuela and Bruno off at the mansion. She will tell them when she is ovulating in order to start the procedure. Thanks are given.

Ana and Fer are at his work office? and Enrique comes in to discuss business? Fer asks what he’s doing there and Enrique tells him that work distracts him from his pain. Fer tells him that he wants to put off the anniversary celebration and that he’s going to get someone else to fill in for what Enrique has been working on. Enrique is fuming because he won’t get to fulfill his plan for ruining him.

Nando and Fanny are trying to talk sense to Ximena.  Fanny leaves them alone to talk. Nando sets her straight on how he feels about what she’s doing and how she’s acting. She freaks out and begs him to not leave her.

Diego is still looking through the old invoices, and he finally finds the right one.

Thanks, cathyx for your very fine recap.

So,

Laura is still all over Nando. He has been far too polite with her.

Johnny was fired for being a goof. What else is new?

I liked:

Ana being her authentic self Ana yelling throughout the mansion.

Ana being smart lecturing Fernando about drugs being a last resort for the twins.

Ana telling Fernando that he kept looking at her like a strange bug(bicho raro) when they were in the backseat of the car. He wanted to hold her hand but she gave him the slip. Cute.

I didn't like:

Jennifer going in person to console Johnny.

Great recap Cathyx

-Thanks for being so brief on the Johnny highlights!

-What's with the goth girl? Did she and Fanny know each other from before college somehow? First we saw her, she acted like she wanted to fight Fanny, then she drives her to Ximena's house?

Great work, Cathyx and thanks for sparing us all the ugly details about Johnny. I saw this coming a mile away.

Goth Girl lives in the building where Leon used to live. Fanny first encountered her there and they almost came to blows because of Goth Girl's reverse snobbery. No rivalry over Leon, but that is what Rainbow Bright is all about.

Sorry I've been absent for a couple of weeks. My life had taken a busy turn, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, starting this weekend.

I think Goth girl is going to get a wakeup about rich girls and their lives after knowing Fanny. Fanny isn't a snob and she sees what a mess Ximena is.

Thanks bunches cathyx, Jonny who?

If Jenny runs her marriage in a ditch over that slobbering sad excuse its her own fault.

Ana, should cut Diego loose, it not right to prolong any of this. If she wants to make Fernando work for it or casually date another man fine, but not some dude that is wishing on a prayer.

Thank you , Cathy, for the great recap and wonderful observations. Yes, in this novela, every thing that can happen to children seems to be happening in one form or another. It's a bit of a long PSA, but on the other hand, 7 kids does bring seven sets of problems, as the wiser heads in this novela -- and Yolanda -- have said.

I love the relationship developing between Fanny and Edith. That should make for some interesting moments.

Lisardo's white hair seemed to be bleeding through on the big screen last night and Johnny remains Johnny. Lots of heartache to come, starting, it seems with poor Diego. Ana's teasing Fer about their night together and Diego is searching through dusty documents for a clue to her past. Go figure.

Thanks, cathyx, that was an excellent recap. Happy to see you giving Johnny the treatment he deserves!

I've been distracted away from this TN for the past few days and only keeping up through the recaps. I really appreciate all the excellent summaries and comments.

With regard to Diego and Ana, Diego is reading way more into Ana's feelings than she's ever portrayed. She has made it clear that she's trying to develop feelings for him and she doesn't want to hurt him. But he doesn't want to read the writing on the wall when it comes to her.
1.He has said several times that he loves her and she has never said it back.
2.They have kissed, but when he tried to go further, she got up and said she couldn't go there. Fanny, Jenn, and Nando have all gone further in less time.
3.When he mentions her feeling for Fernando, she hasn't denied having them.

Diego needs to deal with the fact that she just isn't that into him. And threatening Fernando to stay away isn't going to make Ana all of a sudden start feeling something she doesn't feel.

Maybe that's why Lisardo's hair was darkened for his early episodes; he's bent out of shape about his father although his obsession is rather sick, it's real.

so many little moments and puppy love stares between Ana and Fer friday night...
when she wakes him up... and crosses her fingers 'you really don't remember...' (and she turns away from him like trying to communicate she was offended by his 'amnesia') and him asking 'last night... you and I...' until she seems to confirm with her eyes and she later tells Fanny that his response was confusion and then saying he could not remember any of it...
it was funny to see Ana and Fanny hvae some fun on Fernando's account.
Then Ana trying to convince Alicia to get some protein in the morning with eggs and dairy and then when Alicia finally leaves the room Ana weights herself.. LOL
then when Fernando sent the twins to Manuela to get healthy snacks, Ana puts candy in his mouth and he eats it.

"And threatening Fernando to stay away isn't going to make Ana all of a sudden start feeling something she doesn't feel."

Which is why it makes me angry when Nic sticks his nose in and tries to wave Fernando off and encourages Diego to go for it. None of his business.

I do know they are pulling them back in only to drive them apart in the next day or two. I just hope we never get into silly misunderstanding zone with Fernando & Ana.

also the puppy love in the car, his staring at her lips instead of her eyes... then saying he was in awe of how much she had learned about ADD in just a couple of days, that he admired her dedication to learn and move herself forward, even if she only had basic school education officially.

The previews seem to show that Ana's big mouth is getting them both in trouble ...

I don't like it when they portray the bad people as being more mentally ill than just being a bad person. It's too difficult to figure out what they will do when they're mentally ill and they don't act as rationally as someone who is simply not a good person. The best portrayal of a bad person but not mentally ill was Bruno in Sortilegio, and Leoncio in Amor Bravio. They were bad but they weren't ill. Enrique acts imbalanced like he has a mental problem. And if they are behaving badly because of being mentally ill, one can excuse their bad behavior based on the illness, and they should be institutionalized. I feel much more satisfaction for the bad but not ill people getting their comeuppance.

-Loved it when Sebas stood his ground with Bruja Jr. His being calm and explaining the facts, seemed to enrage her more than if he had yelled at her. That's one scary bruja.

Marta, you were so right those being puppy love moments. Thanks for enumerating them!

Cathyx, smart comment about mental illness and the bad guys. ITA that I do not want to see their culpability and then the size of their anvil mitigated by a mental illness excuse.

Jarifa

I completely agree on the mental illness issue. We've had a few villains in the past get off comparatively easy because of some mental health issue. Therefore unless this series turns like PEAM we can expect that for Freaky.

So in other words, being bad because they're mentally ill takes all the fun out of hating those bad characters.

FWIW for Nando , I'd take Laura over wacked out Tarzan eyebrows xim A N Y day. Crazy chick xim aint hot, just easy. :-)

CathyX, thanks so much for recapping this episode in such a fun way. And for skipping all the Johnny-dramedy.

I do love Ana's character, and also Don Fernando's, however the coy way they act like a couple of middle schoolers (accidentally hugging and kissing each other, accidentally sleeping together, etc.) doesn't appeal to me. And with the disgruntled pregnant wife in the next room, it's not a funny situation.

J in Oregon

“It’s like the writers read a book on every angst a child can go through…”

Nah, they just held a Brady Bunch marathon.

“Isabela throws a temper tantrum at the screen.”

So much so that she started to sound like Cousin It. I wonder if they are related.

Johnny: The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Who in their right mind starts acting like a diva when they are one level higher than the street sweeper? Oh, never mind, I just answered my own question!

Johnny gets fired: Cue the alcohol and rivers of tears. Well, that just means more wear and tear on the FF button of our remotes. At least we can FF, poor Jenny has to live it in real time.

Maid finds Xi:

Option A: (swishing sound) Carry on with house work, Xi is probably just tired and decided that sleeping on the floor was good for her back.

Option B; Call 911 (in Mexico I think it is 66)

Option C: Grab Xi’s cell phone, figure out which entry is for Fanny, speed dial it and tell Fanny the news.

The maid selects option C and after the obligatory scream and dropping the dishes she calls Fanny.

Edith: Struggling masses, social difference and class inequality be danged, I’m driving you to help your friend.

Fanny calls Nando with the news about Xi: He quickly tosses Laura aside, tosses his glasses, tears away his shirt and pants and ascends into the sky yelling “Up up and away!”

Fanny and bat chick Edit arrive at the scene. The paramedics are giving Xi a shot to bring her back. No biggie, no need to rush her to a hospital, it is just an over dose.

Enrique has a new habit. He says part of phrase out loud then thinks the ending to himself:

“Fernando, those are really spiffy looking shows I hope they tear the flesh from your feet)”

“Like your taste in ties (I hope it gets caught it he leave tor and snaps your neck)”

“See later at the party (where I am going to utterly destroy you)”

“Have a good day (in hell)”

“I needed to get back to work; it distracts me (planning my revenge to annihilate you)

Diego finds the receipt: Aha! Hmmm, why do I have the sudden urge to get me some life insurance?

But the best moment in this episode was when Sebas used the Force to free himself from Zerobella’s dark intentions. Standing Ovation please!

"“Fernando, those are really spiffy looking shows I hope they tear the flesh from your feet"

should have read

"“Fernando, those are really spiffy looking shoes (I hope they tear the flesh from your feet"

More correction:

“Like your taste in ties (I hope it gets caught in the elevator and snaps your neck)”

“See YOU later at the party (where I am going to utterly destroy you)”

You all got to believe me, I really really didn't type that stuff. It is like some power beyond my control is changing the words :-)

As Nando takes off:

Laura: Love those sexy blue tights!

I guess since Johnny is listed as a main character on the opening credits, our fast forward buttons will need replacing totally.

How long will it be before Juan is living with Nic and Jenny and makes another blubbering pass at her?

Hard for me to get my head around Ana was intimate with this fool for years and wanted him to be the father of her children. At least Ana created distance between she and Juan while Jenny shows way too much interest.

Wish he'd develop a crush on Isabela and start slobbering all over her.

Salvador, loved your lines...

Tofie, that would be hilarious!

Got to get cracking on tonight's article...

Thank you for the wonderful recap!

No time to post thoughts today. :(
