Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #55 10/31/14 Sofia Decides Her Fate

This will just be a quick recap of highlights.

Old:
Sofia and Fausto talk about the kiss.
Chava is deliriously happy that he has a chance with Sofia. He says, "I won't rest until she says 'yes'!"

New:
Sofia insists she cannot possibly be in love with Chava. Fausto tells Sofia to think things over in her dreams. He cautions her that if she lets this chance go, "You might never find true love again."

At home Chava sings a love song loudly. He wakes up Matias, then sings some more to a teddy bear.

Sofia has dreams, but all she hears are the voices of her mother and sisters, "You're my role model." "You're the one who has everything together." "You are the pillar of this family. We all depend on you." She tosses and turns.

Dani tells Alexa that she knows it's over with Lucas. (Finally!)  Dani sobs that she still has to see him at work. How will she ever be able to deal with it?

In the morning, Fausto greets Sofia at the foot of the stairs. He wants to know about her dreams. She claims she doesn't have time to tell Fausto and asks him to call a taxi. He informs Sofia that Chava is outside waiting for her, just like always.

Outside, Sofia rushes around the side of the car and tries to get in without Chava's help. He runs around and beats her to the car door. Chava wants to talk but Sofia doesn't. Dani comes out and saves Sofia from any explanations. She tells Chava, "Let's go."

Silvana goes to her doctor. Even though she's used two home pregnancy tests she wants a real lab test "to be sure".

Lucas comes into Dani's office to ask for some kind of "proof of work" document. Dani treats him like a stranger and even asks for his name as she fills out the form. She tells him that Silvana has to sign the document and she isn't in. He'll need to come back later.

Irma, Armie and Nandito go to visit Ramon. Nandito doesn't understand why this guy wants to see him. Armie explains that Ramon is a friend of Irma's who saw Nandito when he was a baby. Now Ramon want to see what Nandito looks like all grown up. Marina wheels Ramon into the hospital garden. The poor guy's face is grey and he literally looks like death. Nandito grabs Armie's leg in fear.

Back at the mansion, Alexa is all dressed up and going shopping.

Dani runs into Marisol in the factory break room. They argue over Lucas and start to duke it out. Girl fight!

In the office, Sofia tells Chava to sit down, she sits across from him at her desk. Chava tells her that he can't hide his feelings for her anymore. She pushes an envelope across the desk to him. I have a feeling this isn't a Hallmark moment.  He asks, "What's this?" She tells him it's a severance check.

The doctor comfirms that Silvana is pregnant. She looks really happy about the news.

Chava is stunned, "You can't be serious." Sofia says she is. Well, he won't accept the check! Sofia says, "It was a kiss. Just a kiss. It didn't mean anything."
"So you're firing me for a kiss?"
Sofia confesses that she feels guilty. She has a fiance' and she's getting married. She's a role model for her sisters. She has to run the company. She already has her life planned.
"It's because I'm poor, isn't it?"
Sofia tells him to take the money and go.
"Now you humiliate me? You're just kicking me out like a dirty dog?"
Sofia sobs, "I got carried away. I can't build castles in the air with you. I can't lose control of my life. I can't. I can't."
Chava takes her in his arms. "You just confessed that you love me."
She tells him to go.
"I'll stay. Outside. At your service. As always." He leaves quietly. Sofia sobs.

Ramon and Nadito talk about school. Ramon gives him a wooden puzzle that he built by hand. Nandito is thrilled because, to him, it looks just like a ninja star.

Fuzzy Tavares shows up at Lupe's dance class. He is immediately mobbed by the women; one demands that he "arrest her, for life." Fuzzy is worried that he won't be able to overcome his two left feet. Lupe' assures him that she can even teach rocks to dance.

Nandito demonstrates his Tae Kwan Do moves. Ramon asks him what he wants to be when he grows up. "A race car driver and mechanic, just like my dad!" Nandito beams at Armie. "My dad is my hero."

Fuzzy dances with Lupe'. This doesn't go over well with a growling Paco who is watching from the doorway. Paco demands to know what's going on. Fuzzy tells him that he's learning to dance so he can take Lupe' to the ball.

Greta works in her sketchbook. She draws a pair of scowling eyes. Paco's eyes. She throws the drawing across the room. "I don't understand why you hate me so much."  Apparently Greta has been huffing too much paint. She deserted Paco without an explanation, then married the guy who stole his formulas and screwed him out of his future - not to mention his daughter - and she doesn't understand why he hates her. Give me a break from your "victimhood" lady.

Paco questions Lupe' about her relationship with Fuzzy. She gets indignant, "We were just dancing. I don't have to explain to you." Paco doesn't like the competition, "He's a wolf. He's after you." Lupe' suddenly understands, "Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?"

Isadora calls Greta. Her son has just arrived and she won't be able to meet Greta as planned. Isadora mentions that her son is a teacher. Greta's ears prick up at the news. She says, "My daughter needs a teacher. Would your son be interested in teaching Dani?"

Paco tells Lupe' that he's interested in her, but doesn't want to take the next step because Lupe' is still married. Lupe says she now realizes that staying married to Javier is like dragging around a bag of rocks. Dirtbag. Bag of rocks. Same difference. Paco remembers his past with Greta and says, "The past is heavy." Lupe' agrees.

Chava tells Matias that he's happy. "The woman that I thought was impossible is now possible!" In her office, Sofia thinks of Chava.

Lupe' tells Paco that she should have divorced Javier years ago, but she kept hoping he'd change. Paco wants to do things right and leave the past behind. Lupe' asks if Araceli could help her get divorced from Javier. Paco is sure she will. While they aren't yet novios, Paco and Lupe' agree that they are sweethearts.

Silvana comes to work in such a good mood that she actually kisses Marisol in greeting. Marisol is astonished.

Araceli agrees to help Lupe' get a divorce. Lupe' is sure that Chava will be happy about it, but Marisol will be a problem.

Marisol tells Matias about Silvana's strange behavior. "She was happy!" Matias says that Marisol doesn't know the real Silvana like he does.

Pato shows up at Paco's store. Paco thinks he's a reporter and orders him to get out. Pato tells Paco who he is and that he's the Director of Finance for the Ripoll factory. He asks if the formulas really are Paco's.
"Yes, they are mine."
Pato claims that he just wants the truth to be uncovered. If the formulas are Paco's then Paco should sue. He could get an enormous financial settlement.
Araceli overhears and tells Pato to get lost. After he leaves she and Paco look at each other, puzzled. Paco asks, "Is he for or against his own company?"

Isadora calls Greta. Her son is would love to teach Dani. In fact, he wants to start today.

Lucas comes back to Dani's office to ask about the document. Dani gives him back his father's medal. He told Dani it was lucky, but it was never lucky for her. She tells Lucas she'll let him know when his document is ready.

Ramon tells Nandito how happy he is to have met him, "Take care of your mother and listen to your dad." Nandito hugs Ramon who sobs.

In her office, Sofia tells Pato that she's decided to let Salvador go.

End of Episode.

Obviously Greta is not paying attention to her life story. Paco will not be pleased when he learns that she's also stolen is baby.

Ooooo Kkkkkk Sofa er Sofia you made your decision eh? Wat ya gonna do when Salvador is really gone, you find out your future hubby knocked up you HR manager/friend and is an industrial saboteur, and Salvadors buddy Paco is actually yo pappy? Hmmm can your beautiful rich blonde ass handle all that? Listen to Fausto as he seems to be far smarter than the collective rest of the characters combined.

I for some unknown reason believed that Paco knew all along that Sofa was his but thinking it through, prob not, the way he hated Ripoll choc.

Greta still BUJI.

No wonder why Paco HATES you.

Xint, your "quick recap" was excellent. Your conversation translations are very much appreciated, particularly what transpired between Chava and Sophia.

"I have a feeling this isn't a Hallmark moment" and "Apparently Greta has been huffing too much paint" were among my favorites.

Overjoyed Dani has come to her senses. But will it last?

I'm glad Armando was kind enough to grant Ramon his wish. It was evident Nandito loves his father, who is his real father in every sense of the word.

Silvana is thrilled. I would be thrilled if she just up and left and started her own life away from Pato and forgot her revenge scheme.

Since I know that won't happen, the question is: who will Silvana say is the father of her child? As he's had virtually no recent story line (let alone any hint of a personal life), Matias seems the obvious choice. His soft spot for her along with the fact he thinks Pato used him would make sense. Sigh. That would be terrible.

Kirby, I'm a little confused as I also thought Paco realized Sophia was his daughter.

Greta still stews in her own bitter juices. Basta.

I look forward to seeing Alexa and Armando's scenes. They sizzle and spark and are the only ones with chemistry (I'm talking about compatibility and comfort as well as physical).

Thanks Xint.

Diana

Diana, if I'm Chava, I would leave town and NEVER come back.

Big question is whether he'll go back to Araceli ?

Diana, Given his unrequited love for her, Matias might be willing to cover Silvana. Of course Pato will know it's not true. I really fear he is dangerous to her and especially to her unborn child. He was willing to kill Chava. Whether she realizes it or not, Silvana is definitely in danger now.

I thought the highlight of last night's episode was Armando encouraging Nandito to talk to Ramon and then, near the end of their visit, getting close and talking to Ramon himself. Some people are angels in disguise. Armando is one of them.

What did Armando say to Ramon?

Diana, Pack doesn't suspect that Sophia is his daughter yet. Patrick thinks that Paco knows, but Paco doesn't have a clue. Paco simply wanted to bury the past. That's why he gave her the recipe book.

Xlnt – Super recap. My favorites:
"I don't understand why you hate me so much." Apparently Greta has been huffing too much paint.

Lupe says she now realizes that staying married to Javier is like dragging around a bag of rocks. Dirtbag. Bag of rocks. Same difference.

I hope they explain later how Paco came to not know Sofia is his because if he can count up to 9 he should’ve figured it out. Maybe Greta left the country when she found out she was pregnant and came back after Sofia was born and lied about the baby’s age?

So Sofia can’t get with Chava cause he’s poor and she must stay a role model for her family. Dani and Alexa would be fine with Chava in the family and not see this as a step down. I think it’s Sofia’s own snobbishness, as taught by Greta, that is holding her back. If she invested in Chava reentering racing, he wouldn’t stay poor for long.

And why announce to Pato, whom she knows hates Chava, that she’s letting him go? Sofia sees that Chava is too stubborn to go, so does she want Pato to make him? No sympathy for Sofia from me.

I am ticked at Paco for asking Lupe to be his steady when he knows he’s still hung up on Greta. But now that he has, I want to see what kind of novio he will be. Will he show Lupe a good time, like taking her out dancing as Detective Fuzzy would?

Irma, if you want Armando to forgive you maybe you better think about forgiving Ramon.

Cynderella - Armando told Ramon about Nandito's tae kwan do practicing with him at home. On the surface, nothing heavy was said.

I just remembered that even if Greta lied about Sofia's age long ago, when the TN started Sofia ran into Paco on Ripoll's 30th anniversary and mentioned she was also 30. So Paco should definitely know that Sofia could be his.

I'm having trouble posting this (idiot phones, computers, tablets), so if I repeat anything posted in the meantime, I apologize.

Some few episodes ago, Silvana already fabricated a married lover in a conversation with Sofía. So she can lay the baby at his feet.

Also I think it was the first episode when Paco bumped into Sofía outside Ripoll while he was staring at the big 30th anniversary banner. She told him then that she was also 30 years old, and the wheels seemed to be turning in his head at the time. But nothing has been said out in the open.

The prison scene was an unexpected pleasure, but I wonder now where that side plot is going. They made a pretty big deal out of it.

At least they had Armando make it clear he was finished with Irma over her lying to him. I hope he doesn't backtrack on that because she's still in love with him and begging.

I don't see any impediment to him having a relationship with Alexa, other than the class and economic difference. That's what's strange; it seems pretty early for that. What are they going to do the rest of the show...

Ok, so the youngest daughter is getting a tutor. He shows up with her in promos and credits, so I assume he's going to be used to make Lucas jealous.

Jeri, I'm happy Dani is moving on and NOT looking back.

Second, Marisol and Lucas can have each other.

Third, I want Sophia and Greta to SUFFER SUFFER.

Xint "Some people are angels in disguise. Armando is one of them". Yes, so true!

And of course you are right that Sil is in grave danger from Pato. Now that Jeri reminded me Sil invented a married lover, I fear Pato will put the pressure on her to keep suspicion away from him. Matias will surely realize Pato is the father and having Sil and Matias marry will solve the baby issue and keep Matias quiet. What a terrible thought.

Niecie, I still see no chemistry between Paco and Lupe. When they became sweethearts, there wasn't even a kiss! What DOES this show have against kissing? How are we supposed to care about these couples when there is no physical touching or caresses? Sorry, hand holding doesn't do it for me;)

Diana

Diana, Sophia is the female version Art: rich, spoiled BRAT.

Steve, oh yeah; I am no particular fan of Lucas. But I think he might be inevitable; his grandma is beloved by Dani and the family (I think she'll be back in the kitchen), and there is some mystery of his parentage they set up that has to be solved. Plus Dani had sex with him, her first love; a lot leaning towards Lucas. Jealousy could wake him up, too.

That other guy they have coming in, the one going to be the tutor — I think we might see more of his mom. She’s an old friend of Greta and could figure in with Greta’s past. Also, she’s the ex-wife of the remote, criminal mastermind of the show. She could help bring him down.

So with her son coming around, more of that could get filled in. Since I don’t particularly like Lucas, it would be no skin off my nose if the new guy stepped in. He’s cute, but also I don’t know.

Marisol is not very sympathetic either; but she does have a problem concerning their dad to solve. The dad is going to show up at some point, I’m thinking, since Salvador despises him so much.

And Salvador is still the male lead, even though they are gumming up the works of his character. Something has to happen with the father and Lupe on this score. Lupe told Paco she was not yet divorced; so they left it open.

Lupe and Paco are just a place holder, IMO. I don’t know what Paco is thinking, other than he is past tired of years living on the negative side of life and wants something of a good, sunny nature — which Lupe and her son are congenitally blessed with. He’s attracted to her for that. She’s lively and positive.

But Paco will get back to Greta for karmic reasons, if nothing else, IMO. Greta is tortured, and it will be a huge relief for the character to get all that solved. She’s not naturally so freaking sour and morose; I don’t believe that. She did, after all, fall deeply in love with a waiter! And she still loves him.

It's her unhappy side that drives her art, if you look at the stuff she does -- that sculpture with the hole in the heart comes to mind. In the garden the focal point is a huge grey metallic bird sculpture with TWO heads looking in opposite directions. How about that, eh?

Sometimes I think Armando is too good to be true; I love him, of course — who would not. But still. I am really curious what will happen between him and Alexa now. Alexa is not just the spoiled rich kid; she made literally millions for the company in advertising revenue as a child. They owe her, and she’s still running on that in my book.

But she has to do something now; I think it would be good if she stuck with her loyalty to the brand and helped save the company from what Patricio and the criminal mastermind have planned.

I don’t have a problem with the level of physical intimacy in this show; I like it as much as the next person, but to loosely quote a successful author of Regency romances, “…the word ‘nipple’ never appears in my books (shudder). In my books, the sex is from the neck up…my husband might get oral sex on his birthday!”

Of course, the author was pregnant at the time she said that, so there was a little fudging going on there. Usually telenovelas rely on the baddies for steamy sex scenes. That’s what it’s been here so far.
