We left Fernando and Ana riding the ambulance with Diego, who had flat-lined and the paramedics were trying to revive him.

Lo Nuevo:

Alicia goes into the ladies room at a café to prepare (makeup, boob stuff) to meet Pablo.

At hospital Jenny tells Doctor that Nico has been anxious because he has been having a ‘bad gut feeling’.

At the cafetin Alicia asks for a strawberry shake. The waiter tells Alicia that she dropped one of her boob fillers.

Fanny, Edith and Natalia arrive to the hospital to ask for Diego. Nando arrives right away. The ambulance has not arrived (still in traffic?) … they all are worried they all got there before the ambulance.

In the ambulance Fernando continues praying, his hands are all bloody. He worries what he will tell Nico. Ana is begging Diego to please not leave them. She cries while Fernando kneels by Diego’s head. Ana comes and leans on Fernando, crying hard.

At Isa’s, Ino-Doro leaves, he has to go visit other tenants. YoMama calls him Pancho Villa and asks for his phone number. He gives her a business card, not being shy about showing her his wallet full of money. They flirt with each other… When Ino-Doro is gone, YoMama tells cupid he finally did her justice

At hospital, Natalia is really upset, tells Fanny that the men she has fallen for have died in her arms or at her care… Fanny tries to encourage her ‘everything will be alright’. Nando and Edith talk… Nando tells her he wants Ana with Fernando but he really loves his uncle Diego too, and appreciates Diego’s advice. Edith hugs him in support.

Isa returns home, rings bell and YoMama nags about having to open the door to her. Yomama says we need groceries… Isa wants HER to go to the super. Isa says ‘I got all this, you are just my gopher/second’. Meaning you are a parasite… living off another… and in this case, Me.(Isa). YoMama cuts Isa off and says go ahead and be hungry. Soon I will have someone to support me, so there!

Pablo is standing behind Alicia… does not want her to see him until he talks to her. He says she is different than the picture but she looks better in real life. Fanny turns around and is disappointed at seeing him. She nags at him that he does not look like the picture. No muscles and much younger than she thought. She is upset enough she wants to leave. He begs her not to go. She drops her bag when she gets up mad and he sees her school emblem on her sweater so he starts laughing at her trying to simulate she was 18 when this school only has elementary and secondary school. So she can barely be 15.

Johnny arrives at the house, Bruno tells him about what happened to Diego.

The doctor takes Diego straight to OR. Before he can go Fernando asks him for a moment and gets close to Diego’s face, ‘Brother, all your life you have fought everything. Fight now. Your family needs you. I need you. Please forgive me.’ (kisses him around eyebrow). They take Diego away. Fernando puts his hands on his face… he is desperate and prays to God to save him.

Ana tells Nando, Fanny, Edith and Natalia that ‘your uncle is really delicate. They took him straight to OR’. Ana explains to Fanny and Nando that Diego went to the house really wasted to say goodbye to her. Ana and Fernando followed him because he took off on the motorbike and she feels real guilty. Fanny tells her it is NOT your fault. But Ana won’t listen. She apologizes to them and hugs them.

Alicia is taking her makeup off, talks to Pablo. (I have seen this boy before, maybe 4 or 5 years ago in another novella, but I can’t tell where). Pablo has a really weird loud way to laugh… he is real excited that she is younger too. They talk about their older siblings who really are the age they pretended to be. (this boy’s laugh really annoys me).

Leon repeats to Freeky his lunch order before he goes out to get it. On his way out, his cel phone rings. It is Fanny to tell him what happened. As Leon is still with Fanny on phone, Laura comes in to see Freeky. When Laura goes in without waiting for Betty to get an ok from Freeky, Leon tells Betty that Laura is a friend of Fanny’s. Freeky says we had a deal, sex for the money for your school. We are NOT an item. Laura nags through her teeth that he can’t treat her like a disposable thing. Freeky asks her who is her problem with? With him or with herself??

Alicia and Pablo continue talking. They are heading somewhere else and Alicia has to pull Pablo back to remind him he has to pay for the shakes. The place is called ‘Café del Amore’.

YoMama keeps sermoning Isa… and doesn’t let Isa eat any of her peanuts. Isa says go ahead choke on them. Isa is curious as to why YoMama said she has who can support her. YoMama says she met the landlord. He has tons of money… about her age (50)… and knows Isa. He is the owner of the Chicago.

Pablo has walked Alicia back to school. And the younger siblings are instantly on her case as to ‘who is that boy??’

At hospital, Fernando tells Ana the surgery will be a min of 8 hrs long. Fanny hugs him for comfort. Nando joins the hug. Fernando remembers when they were boys… we hear Diego’s voice ‘I always thought life was an adventure, a trip that begins when we open our eyes the first time, a journey full of contrasts, of joys and sadnesses. And just like we don’t decide when to come to the world, unfortunately we don’t determine when our adventure ends… (we saw photos of them then some scenes of Diego with Fernando when he arrived, a hug they had, Diego hugging his nieces/nephews, Diego entertaining the kids in the kitchen with his stories… and finally Diego telling Fer ‘I love you bro!’. Fernando asks God to help him. Ana, Fanny and Nando notice just how devastated Fernando is.

Natalia goes to talk to Ana. Ana tells her Diego was always unconscious, his heart stopped twice… at the accident scene and then again at the ambulance. Natalia swears Diego is strong, he has gone through lots, even got shot once. Natalia confesses to Ana she loves Diego.

Fanny suggests to Fernando to go clean himself.

The young kids question Alicia about her new ‘boyfriend’. Sebastian realizes Alicia skipped class to meet Pablo. Brianna brings Alicia’s backpack to her. It comes out that Alicia and Pablo kissed, and Brianna thinks it was the big blonde hunk.

Freeky and Leon are heading to the hospital.

The kids arrive at the house. The young ones keep nagging at Alicia about fleeing school. Bruno comes out on the phone with Ana… he will take care of the kids.

Bruno tells the kids about Diego.

Isa and YoMama ended up going to get groceries together. Meanwhile Isa has told YoMama the story of Jennifer and Isa’s visit to the Chicago to ‘pay her off’. YoMama tells Isa she shows her pregnancy. Isa also has some spots/stains in her face. Isa looks herself in a compact mirror and yells in panic. YoMama calls the stains ‘pañote’. Isa wonders why she got them. YoMama says ‘for being a bad daughter’.

Jennifer runs into Fernando and Ana at the cashier while Fernando gives his credit card for Diego’s account. Ana and Fernando tell Jenn about Diego’s accident but no one can tell Nico. Jenn gets real worried.

Johnny again cooks for the kids… Sebas says you are no Manuela but its getting ok/better. The kids ask Bruno how was the accident… and Johnny saves Bruno from the tight situation by telling a joke. (cute, Johnny calls Luz Luciernaga (ladybug)).

At his office Ino-Doro says at the Lasc house everyone lives off Fernando. One of his thugs tells him that the news that Fernando quit his company is all over the news. Dana comes in looking for Ino-Doro. She wants to say hi…. And to talk to him. Actually she wants to try to get some info from Ino-Doro to help Johnny. Ino-Doro wonders what she is up to.

In the twins room, the twins and Luz play a prank on Johnny to make him think he is farting when it is Luz squeezing a fart bag…

Freeky arrives at the hospital and offers his help to Fernando again. Fernando grateful. Asks how is the company. Super. But behind Fernando’s back Freeky wants Fernando to keep suffering.

Ana talks to Jenn at hospital. Jenn tells Ana that Nico presented some tragedy that was coming. The girls cry together. Ana says she can’t take the accident picture off her mind. Can’t believe all this is happening. Ana will go to the chapel to pray for everyone.

Jenn goes in Nico’s room and asks him how he feels. But Nico can tell from her wet eyes that something is up. Fernando is by Diego’s bed asking his mother (her spirit?) to help Diego. Ana comes in, Fernando tells her he was praying to a special angel. She offers to bring him something to eat. He does not need anything. Fernando can’t hold his tears…

F: How did I let things with my brother get to this point?

A: I am asking myself the same but we have to be positive, everything will be alright.

F: If all this costs my brother’s life I will never be able to forgive myself.

A: Sir, you just said it is not the moment to look for guilty parties, right?

F: Yeah but I could have prevented this!

At the house, Johnny is still entertaining the kids… he can’t open a jar (or fakes not being able to)… he asks Bruno to help open the jar. Bruno seems unable to open it either. It is a prank… Johnny signals to Sebas to sit on the fart bag to make Bruno this time be the one that thought he let one slip. The kids show Bruno the bag.. ‘caiste!!’

Jenn and Nico joke about him wanting to be in the hospital. Nico tells Jenn she cannot lie to him. He knows what is going on.

Freeky makes small talk with Natalia, asks when she met Diego. His cell rings. It is Betty.

Leon is there to support Fanny. Fanny can’t believe she has her grandpa and uncle there at the same time. Leon gives her a kiss for support. Freeky sees this and looks away, apparently annoyed by it. Freeky says loudly that he and Leon have to return to the office. Leon wants to see Fanny later at night. Fanny is annoyed at Freeky’s attitude and presence…

A: I can’t believe what is happening to us.

F: I can’t either.

A: Diego came to my life with all his charm, with all his stories, with all his … he behaved like a gentleman… he did all the investigation about my mom… when he asked me to be his girl, you should have seen everything he did.. how…

F: (he is hurt by all this talk) what is the point, Ana?

A: That despite all he did for me, despite all he gave me, I could not love him! And sometimes I believe that it would have been better that I never told him yes, if we had stayed being just friends!

F: When my mother died… we were just kids… later Estefania… also died. I was left a widower with 7 kids… those kids that grew up also without their uncle because he left… now my dad and my brother are here. … my only brother, Ana… my only brother can die… I can’t handle this that I am feeling because… I feel that what is happening is my fault!! (Ana focuses on him again… he is crying desperately). (wow this was great acting… on both SN and JS)

Previews: The pain rips apart the soul of Fernando’s… And tomorrow… the terrible nightmare could turn into a bitter awakening… that fills the hearts with sad remorse… (Fernando and Ana ask Doctor how Diego is) We see Fernando telling Ana ‘my only brother’ and she hugs him while he cries openly.
