♥ Mi Corazón es Tuyo ♥ Lunes 11/17/14 ♥ #86 ♥

Capitulo 86: En el sueño es verdad
Hospital Room: Enrique, disguised in scrubs complete with mask, rubber gloves, and matching biohazard booties to prevent footprints, sneaked into Nicolás' room. He remembered his father's death. He leaned over the bed whispering, “Your son killed my father. Now you will die.”

He licked his chops behind the mask, uncovered the syringe, and just as he was about to inject the potassium chloride into Nicolás' IV Nick woke up and stopped him by grabbing his hand and arm wrestling it away from the port. He dropped the syringe while trying to get away, failed to pick it up, then backed off just as a similarly garbed man entered the room to check up on Nicolás.
Enrique got out as fast as he could and before Fernando removed the surgical mask to show his face to his father. Nicolás looked frightened when Fernando found the syringe and cover on the floor. He picked them up and capped the syringe with a curious expression.

Diego's Apartment: Natalia tried to get Diego to stop drinking and he didn't want to listen to her. She told him she had lost her father when she was eight years old. When he sang the same old song about how his brother cheated him out of happiness for the second time she told him he had to buck up because his father needed him.

The Following Morning

Lascuráin Mansion: The five younger kids were eating breakfast in the kitchen when Ana entered and Sebastián asked about their abuelo. She told them that Nicolás was alright and that their father would be home later. Luz talked about doing a drawing for him and Alicia asked how long he would have to stay in the hospital. Because she missed him.

Nicolás is a lucky man to have such a loving family,” said Zeus.

True. He's luckier than we frequently are,” said Hera.

That's because he has more at stake,” said Athena. “He's mortal. That has to have some compensations.”

Hospital: Outside his father's room Fernando handed the syringe to a doctor and told him that he found it at about four in the morning give or take a few minutes. He asked whether Fernando had talked to the nurses or saw a name tag, both answers no. The doctor said he would have the syringe tested immediately and let him know the results. Fernando asked him to keep this between themselves for now and told him that Nicolás had awakened during that incident. The doctor agreed and left.
Fernando went into Nicolás's room; Bruno and Jennifer were there. Nicolás was alright, just in some pain normal for the situation. He started to tell about the “very strange” doctor with the syringe and speculated that he had been dreaming. Fernando stopped him, saying that perhaps he had dreamt that and that all was well. Nicolás asked for Diego and Fernando said he was downstairs and he would go and get him.

Lascuráin Mansion: Ana made sure the kids had everything they needed before leaving for school. Brianna was there, so she had stayed over. Ana told the kids to obey... in German, which at least one of them must be studying. She got them all to give her a kiss before they left. Her cell rang and she saw it was Fernando.
Siete tried to follow the kids but Ana called him back and he backed up and sat at her command.
When she answered the phone Fernando told her that Nicolás was alright and asked about Diego. She didn't know where he was but that Natalia was looking for him; she had to explain that Natalia was Diego's ex, then said she would call her. Fernando asked if she was coming to the hospital and she said she'd be there in a short while. “Why?” “Because I need you,” he said.

Ana is a remarkable woman,” said Athena. “She's taking on two new languages, child psychology, advanced math, medical information. I'm proud of her.”

Love makes people do good things as well as crazy ones,” said Aphrodite. “I hope this will be enough when Fernando finds out about Chicago. Since Enrique's attempt at killing Nicolás has failed he will attack on another front.”

Yes, he will. It's too bad we can't remove that altered photo from public view. Honestly, I sometimes wonder whether the internet is more evil than good.”

You surprise me, Athena. I'd think you'd appreciate the spread of knowledge.” She took a deep breath. “But mortals have great ingenuity in using such things for evil.”

Manuela was trying to talk to Ana as she tried calling Natalia, who was trying to work on something. A video including an explosion of gunfire caused her to get nervous and jump. She slammed the laptop shut as her cell rang. She was agitated when she answered, finally telling Ana she would find Diego after her morning class was over.

Manuela explained to Ana why she couldn't stay. She couldn't be near Bruno anymore after he told her they weren't fit for each other. Ana tried to convince her to stay. She wanted to go back to her home town to be alone to think. Ana said they should first talk to Don Fernando.

Hospital: Nicolás told Bruno that he was afraid that he made a mistake marrying Jennifer. He almost died the day before; he's 72 years old and was wondering how much time he really had left.

Down in the cafeteria Jennifer was telling Johnny she was worried after everything that happened. Johnny suggested that he take her home so she could bathe and put on some clean clothes, etc., but she was clearly too worried and his lame attempt at humor got a reproach.

Lascuráin Mansion: Ana had fallen asleep in the library while reading two books. Siete was on the couch hanging out with her. Don Fernando entered and immediately sneezed. Siete barked and he gently shushed him, even petted him before going over to Ana.
He remembered the first time he found her asleep on the same spot. He yawned, then took the books out from under her left arm and sat next to her. He kissed her cheek and whispered “I love you, Ana.” In return she said “and I love you, Fernando.” But she was still asleep.

Public University: Lenin made a clumsy pass at Fanny, finally commenting on how she wasn't in class the day before. She told him point blank that her grandfather had had a heart attack and he apologized. He hardly waited before asking her whether she was a feminist.
Then he gave her a copy of The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir. Fanny wasn't too enthused, at least for the moment. The teacher came in and Lenin returned to his seat. Fanny picked up the book at looked at the front cover.

A seminal work,” said Apollo.

Cut that out,” said Aphrodite. “I should have written it a long time ago.”

La Costeña: León was telling Beatriz that he would need to find another job. Enrique entered and told him to go into his office. Beatriz looked wistful as León followed him into the corner office, closed the door, and sat opposite Enrique at the desk. Enrique surprised León by not only not firing him but apologizing and telling him he wanted him as his assistant.
He was to first deliver something to Fernando for his signature and return it to the office signed. León was still suspicious in view of the threats against his family. Enrique went on about reflecting on himself in view of his father's death and becoming a better person. León didn't look like he was buying it.
Lascuráin Mansion: Fernando fell asleep next to Ana on the couch.

Diego's Apartment: Natalia arrived to tell the stubborn stud she was there about his father. She was also getting rather fed up with his spoiled brat behavior.

Silly Dream Sequence: Ana dreamed she was starring in the Lascuráin Family Production of Snow White [which must have felt seriously embarrassing to all the adult players]. She entered the parlour in her blue and white almost-18th Century dress with the absurd bow in her wig, which must have taken away about half her IQ.
The kids came downstairs in their pajamas with stocking caps on and she acted like she didn't know them. They greeted her in order of age, led by Luz, and were all happy to see her. She said she was from Ecatapec and was looking for a woman who had such beautiful apples. The kids were shocked as they shouted “The witch!”
Cue the thunder, lightning, and fog as the front door opened and Isabruja walked in wearing a knee-length hooded cape over a black and red gym top and a skirt. She presented the basket of apples and Ana took one with a comment on how beautifully red it was.
At Isabruja's urging she took two bites of the apple and then passed out on the couch. The kids panicked, Isabruja taunted them to having to say goodbye to their nanny. The thunder and lightning returned to announce the arrival of – once again – the two rival princes, dressed as they were in her previous dream. Fernando arrived first announcing that he will prevent this. Luz said that a kiss of true love will awaken Ana.
He knelt next to the sofa and Isabruja ordered him not to kiss her. The kids contradicted her. This went back and forth three times before Fernando said he would kiss Ana because he loved her. He kissed her and nothing happened. Fanny suggested that another kiss might work and it did.
Ana sat up and Diego arrived; he had been upstairs. He announced he had been betrayed and the two guys began “dueling” with prop weapons.

Ana woke up before this could get any more ridiculous and discovered that Fernando had fallen asleep next to her. She carefully got up, stood up straight, leaned over to see if there was any alcohol to blame for this, then tried to exit the room.

Morpheus, can't you give these people some useful dreams? That was beyond childish.”

Now, Hera, don't be too quick to judge,” he said. “I had to make Ana realize that she really does love Fernando.”

She already knows that. What she needs is the courage to tell Fernando about Chicago.”

Fernando woke up and apologized for falling asleep. He had wanted to talk to her and realized she had fallen asleep while reading. She said something about not having slept in two days. He said she was like a Sleeping Beauty and he kissed her and told her he loved her.
She started backing away. He told her what she said in her sleep, and that the unconscious doesn't lie. She did not want to talk about any of this.
Sensibly he changed the subject and told her what happened in Nicolás' room. This caught her attention.

La Costeña: León said he hoped that Fernando would return to the company soon. Enrique subtly cracked the whip about delivering the document saying he wasn't sure Fernando was still at the hospital. León told him he would find him, not to worry. He got up and Enrique told him not to forget to close the door on his way out.
León excused himself and left. Enrique then grinned and peptalked himself about gaining Fernando's confidence.

Lascuráin Mansion: Ana asked if Fernando was sure that this wasn't a real doctor. He told her that no resident was on duty in Intensive Care that night according to the nurses. She mentioned the security cameras and Fernando said “Of course” but before they could make a call Manuela entered to talk to Fernando and Ana realized why. Ana reluctantly excused herself “to get some things done”.

Hospital Room: Bruno and Diego were both still there. Bruno excused himself, leaving Diego and Nicolás to talk. Nicolás talked about how when Diego was little his mother could always figure out when he was lying. He admitted he was at home and that Natalia cracked the whip on him to come to the hospital. However, he was genuinely worried about his father. He didn't want to cause him any more problems because the argument he had with Fernando caused the heart attack.

Lascuráin Mansion: Fernando asked Manuela if she realized how much worse the situation could have been when she hit Bruno and how hitting people isn't the solution. She knew and she was very sorry. She got to the point and said she wanted to leave.

Ana was checking her cell, noting that Natalia had messaged her about finding Diego. She was overstartled by the doorbell; it was León. She told him Fanny was at school and he told her he was there to see Fernando. She told him that he had just awakened, that they both had, and caught that he took this to mean something she didn't.

Or something she wish were true?” said Athena.

Of course. Ana does want Fernando. Remember that she saw him naked during the first week?” said Aphrodite with a grin.

Can't you get your mind out of the gutter for once?”

Oh, Athena. You really should have had Odysseus when you had the chance. He was your type.”

Of course, León told her that Fanny had filled him in on what was really up with her and Fernando and she chided him about discretion as she escorted him to the library.

Public University: Edith came into Fanny's classroom as Fanny unwrapped the book. Edith couldn't believe that Lenin had bought it for her.

Lascuráin Mansion: León explained what had happened that morning with Enrique, then told Fernando he needed him to sign something. Ana stopped him long enough to ask him if he was sure. He told her he was and he signed despite her second attempt to stop him.

Yolanda's Room: Isabitch complained about Yolanda's television addiction, even being rude enough to ask whether she could even read. Her cell rang and she saw that it was Tomás, Fernando's lawyer. He was calling to tell her that her new apartment was ready. All the services are turned on and the furniture is in place. She asked why he was calling rather than Fernando telling her himself. Tomás said that Fernando was very busy and that she was expected to move the next morning the latest.
She told him to go to the devil and cut off the call, after which she had another tantrum.

Hospital Room: Nicolás told Diego that was wrong; his heart attack was because of his cholesterol, stress, and other bad things. That was what happened and he did it to himself. Diego started again on Fernando's “betrayal” but realized that this would not be productive at this time. He didn't want to lose him. Nicolás told him he didn't want him to lose himself. Both men cried.

Another wonderfully illustrated recap Urban.

The PSA for this episode was PTSD with Natalie rapidly and frighteningly closing up the laptop after viewing the war scene.

I'm not particularly liking the fairytale scenes. Kind of corny to me, but hey it's a comedy.

Will Isabruja ever move out of the mansion?

Urban, thanks for a great recap. Yes, Aphrodite should have written that book. Very funny.

I did not like Fernando telling Nico that he had just dreamed the strange doctor with the syringe. Not smart.

So now Lenin is going to "educate" Fanny? Don't like where that subplot is headed.

Also, I don't like León being set up by Enrique. That could get ugly very quickly.

I really enjoyed the fairy tale sequence. That was very funny especially with Fernando coming in on his "horse".

I liked Yolanda's response to Isabela after Isabela rudely asked her if she could read. Yolanda had the perfect response: that for someone so well read and well written she still could not control her emotions which is course (as stated by Yolanda on previous occasions) why the marriage did not work and why they had to move. Yolanda sure knows how to twist the knife.

It was interesting that the reason Fernando gave Ana for signing the the resignation was that if he did not respect himself, who would?

My favorite part was Ana telling Fernando she loved him in her sleep.

Jarifa

Isabruja is seriously delusional. Staying in the mansion will not benefit her anymore now that she knows the entire household wants her gone.

I think Fernando wanted to spare his father stress. He also likes to get to the bottom of things himself. Although I have to say that Enrique left no evidence and we're just about at the estimated midpoint of the series so it will be a while.

Yaaaa, but although Reeky left no prints, etc. according to Ana, Fer needs to get the surveillance camera footage. Can't wait. Love to see Fer grow a pair and whip Reeky's arse. Maybe if he does it right Geeky will admit the kid might be his out of spite. T h e n....things might get interesting.

Excited to read your recap this morning Urban. Half way through the episode, my out of town son who I hadn't seen since July arrived (early) for the holidays. Needless to say, I didn't catch the rest of last night's events. Your pics too were greatly appreciated.

Eeky is lucky that Fer has been rather easy to dupe up to now, but would be nice to have that camera show something to tip them off. I doubt it though, wouldn't it be a little too early to out the villain? They may see someone trying to use the needle, but not catch it's Eeky.

Leon would make a great mole, but I'm guessing Eeky uses him and something happens to get Fanny mad at him. If they were 6, Lenin would be giving Fanny a frog in a box to show his interest. But now she gets Simone. Smooth move.

So now Manuela is leaving our screens? Hmmm. We seem to be losing characters, mostly the ones who weren't exactly working out. Fer is unemployed. Maybe he can learn to cook and take over the kitchen? (That hacienda would make a great bed and breakfast.)

What do we do with Diego now? Will he leave to get his head together for awhile. Still don't like the turn of the character, though knew it was coming.I am so liking Nat and I did actually appreciate the PTSD reveal.

Osorio does love those fairytale type interludes (shades of PEAM), but it was interesting you say the true love kiss didn't work the first time? Hints these two are going to be dragged out to ad nauseum before a real hookup?

Can Isa just move out already and take her little munchkin mother with her? With Manuela gone, I won't enjoy those Yomama attempts at Bruno moments ramping up. Blech!

Calling it--Nico is going to try and make Jen divorce him. And there's Johny ready to step in. Shoot me.

Daisynjay

Why is everyone so eager to deprive Fernando's family of their property? I thought we wanted to get rid of old cliches, including riches to rags.

This series will end in early March (we're three weeks behind Mexico) so there's too much story left to out Enrique or the true nature of his relationship with Isabimbo. I'm getting a little irritated with the length of time it's taking to bring Soledad into the story, but I'm not looking forward to the sappy results of that. I am also sick of that lullabye.

I do agree about Yomama's sexual harassment of Bruno. That has been beyond sick. I'm surprised that Isabruja hasn't used that as evidence that Yomama has Alzheimer's or something to send her to a facility.

Which would be another crime on her rap sheet because I doubt that Yomama is really losing control of her faculties.

Awesome as usual UA.

“What she needs is the courage to tell Fernando about Chicago.”

Fernando finally had the courage to own up for his mistake and while I'm fine with Ana not falling into his arms and forgiving him (if Isabela had tried to get along with the kids Ana would be an afterthought) she knows there will never be a relationship until she discloses the real Ana. Does she have the same courage?

Leon - know you're hurting for money but he threatened your child

Betty - I just love my new boss

Lenin - hush, it works for me

Isabela - only way I leave is if Fernando drives the U Haul

Bruno - tell me when my crazy ex is gone and I'll come out

Nic - get closer Diego, got a serious question, how do you dump girls

Ricky - benevolent malevolence

Natalia - hold still Diego, let me pull your head out of your butt

Tofie, I love your pithy one-liners.

However, I completely disagree with you about Isabela here. She might have fire in bed but she has no warmth outside of it. Any show she ever made about getting along with Fernando's kids was all fake and she couldn't have kept that up.

I also don't believe any claim she has ever made about loving Fernando. This is about her ego and her validation as a member of whatever social circle she perceives Fernando belonging to. That Yomama is a naca still sticks in her craw.

I agree and don't believe Isabela has ever loved anyone but herself.

However, all it would have taken is for Isabela to pretend to like a few more of the kids for a short while (she is capable and did a wonderful job on Alicia) and not drive Fernando from her bed. I think Fernando was so convinced on paper Isabela the perfect wife he would have made it work and only because things went so bad, so quickly, he was forced to accept his error. Timing is everything.

I believe he still had misgivings about marrying her in the first place. Remember how he hesitated during the ceremony? He wouldn't have hesitated like that if he had been marrying Ana. She may not be to the manor born, but then Isa isn't either.

Urban, I know Fernando wanted to spare his dad the stress but his dad was already stressed having fought off Enrique. To me it was much more important that Nico's perceptions were validated since Fernando did find the mystery syringe on the floor and had talked to the staff. Nico was//is in a dangerous situation. Fernando should have hired a guard.

Jarifa

I think there are two things we can count on happening, not spoilers, just guesses:

1) Fernando finds out about Chicago and Ana's dancing, and

2) Isabruja gets back with Fernando somehow (maybe after he finds out about Chicago), and she gets to move back into the mansion.

Now that Diego and Ana aren't together, Ana won't have Diego to counterbalance Fer's fury when he finds put Ana had held back from him all this time. I don't think she had lied about Chicago, she just hasn't been forthcoming.

Again, it would be a nice change from typical tnland if Fer took everything in stride and didn't go all whacko when this happens.

I don't see Isabruja moving out of the mansion anytime soon.

Too much ego.

This novela us going to be too long when it's over in March.

I'm out of here.

Margaret

Thanks, UA. Great recap and shots. I loved the divine discussion about The Second Sex. Only a matter of time betore Lenin and Leon are at each others' throats over Fanny.

It seemed to me that Nico and Bruno were up to something regarding the future of Nico's relationship with Manuela. Is Nico trying to get Bruno to be a sperm donor and that is why he has been backing away from Mauela? Am I imagining that a plot is being hatched -- and not a very smart one!

Nic is just a meddlesome old man who thinks daddy knows best for everybody, his wife included.

Thanks for the wonderful recap! Goddesses on their game.

Worried Reeky is going to manipulate Leon into doing something illegal and hold it as leverage over him. Though with Leon's financial position, I guess holding his job over his head is enough leverage.

I like Leon but I can easily see him and Fanny moving in separate directions. She is very young, in school and growing into her future. And so is he. Her interests could very easily have her moving away to pursue them and Leon has a child and mother to consider.

Oh I hope Isa moves out but I wouldn't put it past her to burn down the bldg of her new apt.

Manuela can't leave. Who is going to cook for all of those people? Ana doesn't have the time. I actually give her credit for doing the right thing which is to leave.

Especially because Manuela has catered to everyone's food preferences and needs. Who else could handle that family?

As much as I joked about Fer getting the kitchen, though I would love him to step up, my guess is this is going to fall to Ana again especially in the mornings to get the kids off to school. If Fer doesn't at least help with nothing else to do, I'll be more than miffed.

Victoria, I tend to think like you, that somehow we aren't losing Isa any time soon and it may be because of Ana and Chicago. If Fer goes all self-righteous on her, that may be the opening Isa needs to worm her way back into his affections. After all he could keep Ana on as a nanny, but say he would never trust her as a partner. And the fact Diego and Nico knew and not him will stick in his craw too. At that point my beanie would implode because he knows the person she is by now, but for plot purposes, wouldn't put it past him.

I'm not losing sleep this TN goes to March. It seems all the TN's lately are stretching out past original estimated dates, unless there's a reason the main actors can't commit or the show isn't getting positive ratings. Just hope the plots don't go south the longer we go.

Daisynjay

Maybe Johnny can be the cook since he seems to be a jack of all trades. That would be a twist.are

Jarifa

UA: Another great recap. Thanks for all your effort.

Going to watch this ep tonight. Can't wait to see the "I love you" couch scene.

How horrible if Fer does reconcile with Isa knowing how she mistreats his kids and that everyone despises her. Please writers, don't go there!

I love Leon, but it wouldn't hurt for Fanny to be involved with more than one guy (at a time, of course). She became very serious about Leon very quickly. She's still very young. I'd like to see them eventually hook up. Though, if that doesn't happen, I'll route for a Reina/Leon hookup at the end.

UA: I agree it's time to bring Soledad into the picture.

Fer doesn't seem to be too concerned about resigning re: his financial position. He wouldn't jeopardize his kids' life that way. He could, of course, get cheated out of his money somehow, I suppose.

Nanette

Yeah, Fanny is gonna fall for Lenin and Leon out. Just hate it he will be Ricky's assistant and have that skunk poisoning his mind.

Not sure Isabela and Fernando will reunite but don't believe she is leaving anytime soon and the divorce is likely delayed. That will serve the same purpose.

Thanks for the wonderful recap, Urban! "Silly Dream Sequence: Ana dreamed she was starring in the Lascuráin Family Production of Snow White [which must have felt seriously embarrassing to all the adult players]." ITA - The fairytale elements of this plot are silly, and EVERYONE must have been embarrassed acting in this scene. I was embarrassed for them!

Simone de Beauvoir was not only a feminist; she was a Marxist as well. The clever tn writers aptly named Lenin as the bearer of The Second Sex.

Tofie - You gift us with excellent one-liners today! I especially like Ricky's oxymoron: benevolent malevolence. PERFECT!

Jarifa - ITA about validating Nico's experience for him. He already feels too old for Jen physically. Now he's going to think he's going senile, too.
