Hasta el Fin del Mundo #81 20141209 Day #3 and Zepeda Still hasn't Stripped! What is Up with That?
Happiness is....never having to see this mutt (I mean mugg) again! |
So anyway, this might be the worst episode ever. It's day three and Zepeda hasn't removed any clothing. All of this "acting" is really getting on my nerves. It's like his shirt his glued on or something! At this rate, they will never reenact the shower scene.
After the piano lessons, Stalker Dani tells boring Oliver (aka Dulliver) that Lucas is boxing. Dulliver tells Dani that the boxing matches are illegal and rigged. If the cops raid the gym, Lucas will be arrested. Dulliver is certain that Lucas is knowingly engaging in illegal fights.
Meanwhile, over at the gym, the boxing match is about to begin. His opponent is Lorenzo "the mouse" Ortiz. Lucas gives the bookie Marisol's and Matias' cash. Manjarres hypes up the restless crowd! Later, while Lucas is shadow boxing, he is approached by "the boss" and Manjarres. "The Boss" order Lucas to take a dive. Lucas is furious! Lucas beats his opponent. Manjarres and some goons chase Lucas, but he is able to lose them.
The Party
Everyone who is anyone in the neighborhood shows up at Lupe's birthday party. Sophia stops by with a gift for Lupe.
Flor enters the party and hugs Chava. She introduces herself as his girlfriend from Michoacan. At first he doesn't remember dating her, but she insists that he gave her a ring and asked her to marry him. Chava think someone is pranking him. Her story is that Chava asked her to marry him during a walk under the moonlight. Several other women at the party have dated Chava. Sophia gets angry. Some people try to take up for Chava, but it ends up making Sophia madder.
- Javier keeps calling Chava a "chip off the old block". He says that Chava conquers everywhere that he lands. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.
- Cuco says that all of the girls in the neighborhood want to date Chava. This doesn't help either.
- Irma says that Chava has lots of girlfriends. She and Araceli laugh about how embarrassing this must be for Sophia.
When Sophia gets home, she tells Fausto about learning of slutty Chava and his fiancé. Fausto doesn't believe it. She screams at Fausto; she doesn't want to talk about Chava. He'll say anything in the moonlight to get a woman. It's a pattern with him.
Depressed, Chava returns to the party. Armando tells him to look at the bright side. Sophia was very jealous! Chava immediately cheers up.
Other News
- Tavarez tells Armando and Chava that Renzi really is recovering from a beat down. Tavarez says that Renzi is no longer a suspect in the neighborhood crime wave.
- Flor reports her progress to Renzi and they make out. Renzi calls Patrick for further instructions, but Patrick is busy getting busy with Silvana. He wants to wait until morning after he sees Sophia.
- Patrick delivers a room full of roses to Sophia's office. This completely pisses off Silvana who slept with him the previous night.
- Sophia dreams of Chava in the reenactment of "sleeping under the moonlight scene", but they did not reenact the shower scene. Whatever! In protest, I will put up screen shots of the Dulce Amor shower scene until the Hasta el Fin del Mundo scene is reenacted.
Only when Zepeda makes a shower scene, will this one come down. |
Yeah, I'm blackmailing Diaz |
Irma arrives at the party with Nandito and Armando. Chava says that she can stay as long as she doesn't cause a seen.

Patricio was so creepy with the roses. He made my skin crawl.
Will Lucas learn his lesson this time? Maybe he will have to flee the city and we will never see him again? I can only wish.
The only saving grace was Fausto.
Jarifa
"Oliver (aka Dulliver)" was my favorite. I agree with Jarifa this wasn't the most exciting episode to date, but love that you made it such great fun.
Steve, I also enjoyed your comment about Lucas. If he disappears, will anyone care?
The whole scenario of "Chava's women" is so preposterous to me, I just can't take it seriously.

"Stalker Dani tells boring Oliver (aka Dulliver)"
What's weird for me is I would never believe the old Chava a real playa but do the new. Guess that was the point in casting David.
Wonder if there is any significance in the new bench scene shot in an unkempt field and not a manicured garden?
Thought it funny that Patricio billed the company for all the roses delivered to Sofia.
How in the world does Lucas think he will return the next morning to collect Marisol's and Matias' winnings? The guy is still a punk.
Young, naive Lucas, with no father around to tell him stuff, doesn’t know that criminals rig boxing matches. I’m sure some young, naive boys realize that criminals rig boxing matches; but a son of Javier Cruz and an irresponsible mother would have two-and-a-half strikes. Thank goodness Lucas has Miguelina and Daniela to love him. Yes, I have not given up my theory that Javier cuckolded Miguelina’s son.
The Flor Gambit is just as disgusting as I thought it would be. Now Flor must die, too; and getting involved with Renzi ups her percentage chance of that materially. Flor must at least suffer. The body count in this show is mysteriously low so far, though. Of course, nothing much happens except potboiling; which is ok by me. I like potboiling. Also, thanks, so-called family and friends, for stepping up and adding your macho dos centavos to stoke Sofía’s fury. Big help.
Actually, maybe it was a big help, come to think of it; because Sofía’s tantrum was the second best thing about this episode. It was not really backed up by the facts, since by her actions so far she obviously doesn’t give a flying monkey about Salvador; but they needed Sofía to act incensed in order to have at least some excuse of a motivation to marry Patricio.
It’s been a while since I said I love Fausto; so…I LOVE FAUSTO. Thank goodness for one lonely logical voice in the desert. His conversation with Greta was so refreshing and unexpected, where he baldly tells her she was unhappy married to Octavio and she’s trying to make her daughters unhappy as well. Greta let him tell her that, which is a positive sign on her long road to recovery. I give her points for hearing out Fausto.
Salvador, pay no attention to the trumped-up jealousy behind the curtain. Armando is just trying to make you feel better by pointing out the one positive aspect of the Flor Gambit. Sofía is going to make you feel much worse before you feel better.
Oh, well, the inadvertent whipping Renzi got worked on Tavares and the boyz to boil the pot a little longer. Like five months longer. When is stuff like all that rose water going to make Silvana boil over; she is a patient woman. That’s obvious by how long she has worked her revenge angle. But it would be good to see some spillover soon; it would be good if she would start working against Patricio. Please, please; Patricio needs to get going on his downfall. Just a hint.
Diana, the best part of the episode for me was Lucas choosing self-respect over self-preservation. I actually loved his defiant win and flight. It’s not going to lead anywhere good in the short term, because I’m afraid the criminals are going to threaten Miguelina again. Lucas would cave for that; and if the criminals learn about Daniela, that would be a big sub-plot. They could kidnap Daniela for ransom. I am actually most interested in the Daniela-Lucas plot line going forward.
It was plainly stated and demonstrated in the early part of the show that EVERYONE LOVED Chava. He had wonderful charm, which he does not have now. David is not charming. He's awkward as Salvador.
Pedro's charm and talent is the reason all the women love him, on stage, in telenovelas, in real life.
Pedro's page at Facebook has 2.8 million Likes. David's had less than a thousand when I looked before; but now they have actually removed the number and don't show it anymore.
Look at that; your ring is from a gumball machine.
Jeri, I'm glad you like Lucas. In all honesty, I just can't generate any enthusiasm for him. As a conniving grifter, he leaves Dani for not telling him the truth about her background? He has made many poor choices - I just can't applaud him not throwing the fight. I believe a good part of it was ego. I am afraid we will just disagree on this point.
But ITA with you on Fausto! I adore him and all his facial expressions and good, common sense.
Diana
I hate the personal verbal sparring. It has no place here. I'm glad to discuss the shortcomings of public figures, but loathe to discuss other posters unless it's something nice. It just goes against my grain -- in addition to the fact that trolling other posters is against blog policy.

But I missed something: What is the new theme sound with Alejandro Fernandez like? Are you preferred it, or the old? :-)
I noticed that when Chava (DZ) got out of bed last night (due to his insomnia) he had an undershirt on - no bare chest. Now in any other TN in which our hero (DZ) appeared, the writers would have had him shirtless.
Cynderella, you may have to keep the shower scene up for the entire TN! :)
I would like to point out that this is not Dulce Amor; it's a Televisa production, written mainly in mind of a massively popular Mexican singer and actor that everyone there knows.
And it's just too bad it didn't play out that way.
I don't think the Chava in this TN, as opposed to the one in Dulce Amor, was ever supposed to be a player. It was stated that women love Chava, but there has never been any hint that he was a casual bed hopper. I was under the impression that women loved him for his warmth and personality, not his sexual prowess. I don't believe the Chava in this TN would ever be that kind of guy simply because he grew up watching Javier and was so disgusted by his father's actions. It's important to remember that this TN is 'based' on Dulce Amor. It's not a copy so there will be changes in the characters.
Alejo P, The new theme song is okay, but not memorable like the original one.
I'm amongst those who prefer the rather pedestrian but charming Pedro to the pretty but wooden David. I'm still trying to rid myself of the memory of that enthusiastic wet but ultimately awkward kiss.
I'm late (as usual) to the discussion today and I don't fully understand what the heck some of you guys are talking about... Diana offensive? Please... Cynderella over the top? What's new?
Since it's late, please indulge me by allowing me to link to one of my earliest recaps (Gancho) which seems to contain some of the elements referred to in today's discussion (as best I can tell, anyway)... a possibly inappropriate title... a provocative shower scene photo... and lively discussion about a teenage boy pursuing an older woman... We all survived and are friends to this day.
Carlos
Thank you amigo. Your sense of humor was and still is a treat for the sensibilities.
Diana
No one was calling Diana offensive; it had nothing to do with shower scenes. Better to just let it drop, please.
Matias and the new girl are my favorite couple. They just don't know they're a couple yet.
Here's what I remember from Wednesday's episode:
- Lucas is hiding under Dani's bed to avoid the mob and Fausto has just about discovered it.
- Miguelina got sick, so Chava and Sofia drove around searching for Lucas.
- Chava turns up at the boxing club and is threatened. (Maybe he'll take off his shirt to duke it out?)
