Hasta el Fin del Mundo #88 20141219 Zepeda was Wearing Layers Last Night! It's Day 9! When is He Going To Strip? Can We at Least See His Ankles? Geez!

Some Bar
Javier clocks some digits from Isadora, the Lush!  Alcohol is a hellava drug!

Paco's Place
Paco is suffering from a hang over and is sipping on a the bit of "the hair of the dog that bit him" when Donna Reed (aka Araceli), his daughter, walks in and confronts him about his past with Greta.  Paco is surprised to learn that he exposed his deepest darkest secret while he was drunk crying at Cuco's.  Alcohol is a hellava drug.  Anyways, Araceli gets all in snit after Paco admits that Greta was the love of his life.  Consuelo, Araceli's mother was just a runner-up or a rebound girl.  Araceli was not born out of a love union, but rather a "I got dumped and you'll have to do" union.  Lots of annoying crying and sobbing between the two of them.  She was born, what more does she want?  Waaah!

Snob Hill
Let me begin by saying that I loves to look at me some David Zepeda, but I don't like to hear David Zepeda.  Let me clarify...David Zepeda cannot sing and I don't know who gave him a mic.  If I wanted to watch a story about a unemployed, singing screeching, lovesick, race car driver from the hood, I would have signed a petition to keep Pedro Fernandez on the show.  OMGosh, he is awful!  Just stick to stripping, I mean "acting" Zepeda.  Geez!  Ahem!

In the key of awful, please!

OK, so Sophia and the family have gone back into the house.  Second verse same as the first!  Chava orders the mariachi band to play again!  He howls sings along with the leader.  Meanwhile, inside the mansion, Patrick let's it slip that Chava was rehired as the company driver.  Greta demands to know why Chava still works for Ripoll!  He was the cause of her heart attack!

Is an animal dying?  Make it stop!

Patrick explains Chava is there so that Sophia can choose between the two of them.  Greta orders Sophia to fire Chava immediately.    Alexa reminds Greta that Chava saved Sophia's life and it would be unfair to fire a hero.  Greta exits.  She also threatens to call the Po Po if Chava and the mariachis don't shut up and get off her property within the next 5 minutes.

His contract states that he can sing!  It was the only way he would sign!

Pedro Fernandez, I am so sorry!  Please come back!  Signed, everyone with Ears!

Alexa, Daniela and Dulliver go outside to enjoy the serenade and roast some marsh mellows. Dulliver notices that Daniela likes the music and openly declares that he will steal Chava's mating moves.  He too will rent a mariachi band because he is dull and has no original thoughts of his own about how to court a woman.   No wonder his mother drinks!

Perhaps we can shoot him!

I'll make it quick!  It's best for all of us!

Back inside the house Patrick is feeling disrespected and is not at all amused.  He wants to call the police, but Sophia talks him out of it.  Patrick orders Sophia to stay in the house while he goes outside and takes care of this.  Actually, he goes outside and punches Chava in the face!  Dulliver tries to jump in, but Armando holds him back.  He gets in a few good licks, but Chava knocks him to the ground.  Patrick's a big 'ol party pooper, so Daniela and Alexa ask Chava and Armando to leave before the police arrive.

Move out of my way and do not try to stop me!  Shooting him is the only way!

Change of plans!  I'll sneak up on him and punch him in the throat!

Patrick tells Chava to get a clue and accept that Sophia doesn't want him!  Chava can't believe that the mariachi band didn't work.  She only caught him kissing his ex-girlfriend in broad daylight!  The fellas and the mariachi band leave.

Don't kill him!  We couldn't get Rulli or Soto!  Think of the ratings!

Singing halted!  Mission Accomplished!

Everyone goes back into the mansion and Sophia cleans up Patrick.  Armando and Chava head to Cuco's.

So, anyway, everyone ends up at the Town Hall Meeting.  Chief of the Fuzz, assures the crowd that Renzi's business is legit.  He saw Renzi's face and he indeed caught a beat down by some thugs.  Unbeknownst to the crowd, Manjarres is secretly observing the meeting from under a chair.

Doesn't everyone hide behind chairs at Town Hall meetings?

A trashy version of Irma?  She couldn't believe it either!

Fausto and Sophia show up to the meeting to represent Ripoll's interests.

I look fabulous and my boobs are spectacular!  Lucas readily agrees!

The entire hood suspects that someone is trying to drive down the prices by creating a crime wave.  They believe that the prices will rise once all of the properties have been sold.   Armando points out Irma.  She worked for Renzi, does she know what's going on?  Irma says that she know nada!  Chava encourages everyone to hold on to their homes if they don't have to sell.  They are trying to get to the bottom of this.

Araceli strolls in fashionably late.  Chava and Fausto excuse themselves so that the ladies can converse.    Sophia asks Araceli if Chava is a lying sack of horse manure!  What kind of relationship do they have.  Sophia wants all of Chava, not just the crumbs like Araceli.  Araceli hears Irma's voice and emboldens her to scare off Sophia.  Araceli says that she and Chava have a strong relationship.  It's complicated.  Sophia storms off.

Chava catches her in the hall and mistakenly believes that Araceli would hand him over on a silver platter to another woman.  He quickly realizes that Araceli may have thrown him under the bus when Sophia gives him the death stare.

When Chava confronts Araceli, she lies and says that Sophia insulted her by saying that Araceli is simply getting crumbs from Chava.  She tried to push them together but Sophia didn't believe her. Araceli tells Chava about her conversation with Paco.  She doesn't appreciate being a child born out of a rebound relationship.  She jumps into Chava's arms for comfort.  She tells Chava that he was just a fling for Sophia and Sophia is just using him.  Using him for his body the way Greta used Paco for his.  Chava says that Sophia is not like that.

Other News:

  • Lucas and Marisol are groping one another when Miggie interrupts their anatomy exploration homework.
  • Daniela suggests that Dulliver's father was a big fat liar and that Lucas didn't steal from the Peralta's.  She encourages Dulliver to give Lucas a chance.
  • Paco cries over Consuelo's picture and apologizes.
  • Later that night, Alexa goes over to Armando's house and ravages him.
  • Patrick visits Silvana for a brainstorming (sex) session and update on their progress to take down Ripoll.
  • Chava remembers the day that he and Sophia made out in the woods.

Cynderella, amiga, thank you for the clarification on the "freeze frame". All I saw was Cesar Evora's face frozen in crying mode.

I kinda, rather sorta, like looking at David. :)) Actually, quite a bit, but I think this role is something new for him and he's not quite settled in, yet.

The role really was for Pedro, The Mutt (as you call him!). :))

Fatima

So how about those avances?

(Get the party started)

Cynderella, thanks in advance.

My thoughts:

1. The fight was way too short.

2. I actually felt sorry for Araceli for a fleeting moment when she became aware of the fact that Geta was the love of her father's life and called herself "la hija del desprecio". "the daughter of spite."

3. Salvador was so incredibly stupid when he left Araceli with Sofía ALONE so that Araceli could explain how she and Salvador were now just friends which was the direct opposite of what Araceli did. He went off to chit chat with Armando rather than staying around to make sure the facts were being delivered. I just could not believe it. "Trust" here is the forn of trusting in your scheming ex or delicuent drunk of a father is not a great attribute. Salvador is so naïve and gullible he will be the perfect partner for
Sofía.

Jarifa

Oh so that's what happened, thank you for clearing that up, I tuned in late and was confused, that's really unfair of Uni to do that to west coast viewers.

I too felt bad for Araceli. What a horrible thing for that weepy Paco to lay on her and to know the likely child of that relationship is not only her half sister but the woman Salvador prefers too.

ITA the fight was too short. Drat.

Sophia will still marry Patrick anyway because she's stupid !

I haven't commented in a few days... I'm still adjusting to David Zepeda... (I can't believe that I'm saying this)... he's no Pedro Fernandez). He's already started begging... at least at this point it's just for a kiss, not sex. He's almost in stalker mode.

Poor Irma simply can't catch a break judging from the avances... yikes!

Carlos

By the way, has anyone else noticed our new Chava wistfully eying Fausto's scarves?

Carlos

Patrick should've called the CIA's B613 black ops to get rid of Chava.

I'm sooo waiting for Irma to get whacked !

Thanks, Cynderella. Fine recap and bonus screenshots. My favorite: His contract states that he can sing! It was the only way he would sign!

So many characters annoy me right now, but I'm going to give kudos to those that don't.

Dani - She's always thought about others, not just herself. She was the first to note Sofia wasn't happy marrying Pato. Now Dani is trying to get Lucas and Oliver to make up.

Pato - He's staying focused on his dastardly goal. I loved the way, like a true villain, he fought dirty and snuck up sucker-punched Chava from behind.

Matias and the new girl - They weren't even shown last night. Writers, they better show up Monday.

I wonder when Greta finds out that she has been played by Pato if she repeats what she did at the end of Amor Bravio (jump off a tall tower)

One can only hope.

Interesting that Augustina also was disappointed when Camila was with her chauffeur.

LOL. Whatever happened to Camila & her chauffeur?

Great Cynderella.

"In the key of awful, please!"

"Chava can't believe that the mariachi band didn't work. She only caught him kissing his ex-girlfriend in broad daylight!"

My thought exactly. Salvador is a desperate idiot.

Cyn, I don't find words your recap, faboulous, sensational, funny, I am in tears because of laughter. I love your pics, you comedian queen. :) :) :) It was not too long, but the best!!!! I enjoyed your humor for all that I like the voice of.DZ. He is far away to be a star but I heard much more worse singers. I liked when he sang deeper voices. I am trying to be unwarped and I accept many people says he can't sing, simply for me it is not baleful. In spite of your critics, you made my day, I appreciate your sense of humour, many times I mentioned you for my friend, what a stupendous story-teller ability you have.

Fondly, AlejoP.

He became her husband.

The last part is up. Sorry that it took so long.

Characters that annoy me but could easily change that-

-Armando(This Greek God doesn't annoy me. Although, how hard is it to sit the kid down and calmly tell him that he is not his biological father and much like the boy, Armie is recently entered in this heart-wrenching news of disloyalty on the part of Irma. If Armie is not going to, have Ramon's sister Marina come back, tell Nandito herself and even take him away. The kid would be better off.)

Paco(All you have to do is open your heart to whom you trust most.)

Lupe(She doesn't annoy me at all; her situation with Javier does. Kick him to the curb girl!)

Isadora(Drinking in the name of emotionally abusive and unrequited love is not golden. Neither is any sort of relationship with that pobre diablo Javier. You belong at Alcoholics Anonymous.)

Oliver AND Lucas(Swallow your pride already. Kiss and make up; BTW I'm serious about that kiss part.

Marisol(See Oliver and Lucas, substitite with Dani but note that it doesn't matter as much if you and Dani kiss or not.)

Silvana(I wish the best for you.)

Cynderella, "It's Day 9! When is He Going To Strip? Can We at Least See His Ankles? Geez!" was simply awesome. The screen shots and recap were wonderful and far, far, better than the episode.

"We couldn't get Rulli or Soto! Think of the ratings!" were my other favorites.

Can I make a confession? I didn't think the singing was half bad. :)

Fatima, I totally agree with you. David is fairly easy on the eyes, and is trying to make the role his own and I imagine it was tough coming into the show so late with cast and characters already entrenched in the viewer's minds.

Jarifa, I also can't believe Chava let Araceli talk with Sophia alone. She has been relentless in pursuing him. Did he really think she would tell Sophia the truth? Where's my beanie?

Paco's telling Araceli the cold hard truth in such an insensitive way makes me think he and Greta truly deserve each other.

Niecie, yes, where the heck is Matias? What is wrong with these writers??

Carlos, I couldn't believe the new credits gave such an important spoiler away, but it looks as though we will see tomorrow night how that comes to pass.

Thanks Cynderella. Sparkling as always.

Diana

Cynderella, I just wanted to thank you for another of your hilarious recaps with wickedly funny captions for your photo selections. My personal favorite:

"Is an animal dying? Make it stop!"

Perfection.

I think that David Z would do well to drop the little cute expressions like:

"¡Achis, Achis!"

and

¡Claro que switch!"

They just don't sound authentic coming from his mouth.

Of course (sadly) the begging does.

Carlos

Diana, yes, I'm sure it will take awhile for him (David) to fit in with the flow of the other characters/actors. Even if there was bad chemistry between the protagonists, there was still some kind of chemistry. A person just doesn't walk in and start fitting right in.

I agree with Carlos that David should drop the original Chava mannerisms and way of talking that don't sound believable coming out of his mouth. He needs to find his own groove.

Fatima

Have a feeling we won't see a similar version here.

Diana, you hit the nail on the head.

"Paco's telling Araceli the cold hard truth in such an insensitive way makes me think he and Greta truly deserve each other."

Except my guess Greta wanted and married a man not a eunuch.

Carlos,

"Of course (sadly) the begging does."

The begging from Pedro didn't sound like begging but wildly optimistic pleading, from David, begging.

Did anyone else see a preview of Chava catching Pato and Silvana in the horizontal position at Ripoll?
