La Gata #83 12/25/14 La impotencia

I wish everyone Love and the best of whatever tradition you hold dear!  Here is a skeletal summary of tonight’s show!

Augie and Gisela have drugged Lorenza and send a text to Pablo to throw him off her trail.  The MN kids recognize immediately it’s a fake:  Lo doesn’t text.  Mauro and Pablo head for Lo and Augie’s apartment.

Garabato tries to preach the gospel of a better life to a bitter and angry Ines.  La Gata is to blame for everything including filling his head with these crazy dreams.  He vows vengeance on La Gata so Ines can be happy.

Pablo and Mariano arrive at their folks' apartment and start yelling for them and pounding on their door.  Gisela counsels Augie by phone to NOT open the door and SHE will take care of Pablo.  Augie talks to the zoned-out Lo blaming her for forcing him to do this to her, she should have stuck by him and now he’s going to end up looking like the bad guy!

Gisela tries unsuccessfully to trick and threaten Pablo into coming into her apartment.  Esme calls Pablo for he and Mariano to return home right away!

It’s a miracle!  Blanca has resurrected from catatonia by the bewitching mix of El Sil’s fake piano-playing, her silent lip sinking and hallucinating an audience!  El Sil laments to her this may be the last time he sees her because Lorenza is missing and she is his only hope.  She turns to him and says that maybe all is not lost.  Maybe Augie kidnapped Lorenza as he kidnapped her.

Pablo and Mariano hear the whole story when they get back to El Sil’s:  Augie took Blanca to the middle of nowhere.  The man who took her baby, Renata, was also there, Augie brainwashed her and Oooooh!  El Sil is hoppin’ mad!  He wants to kill Augie!  Esme calms El Sil down and Pablo reaches the conclusion that daddy must have kidnapped mommy to keep her from testifying against him!

Pablo and Mariano go tearing out to the little brick bodega on the prairie.  They and the waiting detective burst in and. . . .aw snap!  It’s empty.  Pablo feels impotent!

El Sil continues to rage against the eeeevil Augie for all the harm he has done to all of them:  he wants to take the law into his own hands!  Blanca is totally recovered and passionately preaches the merits of justice over vengeance!  El Sil looks like he’s getting religion!

Over at Rita’s shack Cha Cha  is delivering a similar sermon.  Well, his is more of a satisfying “I told you so”.  Rita made a bad choice that hurt her and screwed Ines as well!

Ok, El Sil is not converted yet.  He continues haranguing Blanca and us about all the harm done to him and his family!  Blanca tries to make El Sil see how fortunate they all are to be together and love each other while Augie’s wife hates him and he is estranged from his children, that’s HIS punishment.  El Sil is still not done decrying all the injustices committed by Augie.  El Sil just feels impotent!  Blanca finally gets through to him:  If he does anything against Augie HE will be the loser.  They are the winners because they’re united by a love that Augie will never know.  Augie promises never to do anything bad and love her forever.

Meche cries her love and devotion at Damian’s hospital bedside.

Pablo sits at the dining room table with Esme as she makes jewelry.  She comforts him:  she knows how it is to have your mother missing.

There’s a random 3-second “scene” of (Formerly Hot) Creepy Doc arriving at El Sil’s  asking if he’s come at a bad time and Pablo giving him the stink eye.  We never see him again this episode.

Cha Cha and Rita show up at El Sil’s.  Esme scolds her about being a hard-ass and skinflint all her life, not in material things but in matters of the heart.  Well Esme is and always will be a land fill cat that would’ve starved without her.  Jarocha arrives to trade insults with Rita as well. Cha Cha and Rita go to see El Sil.  Cha Cha says Rita wants to pay whatever is necessary for Damian to have his operation and to make a complete recovery.  Rita tries to protest and leave.  Cha Cha gives El Sil a check which Rita signs.  El Sil is very grateful.  Rita faints.

Pablo and Mariano decide to go to Augie’s and confront him about Lo.  Augie is in his living room drinking liquor like it’s kool aid.  There follows a creepy scene which is just absolute nighmare fuel:  Augie is arguing with Lorenza about her changed loyalties and her need to be on his side.  Lorenza argues with him, eyes rolling around in her head and mumbling about him having declared war on her when he took up with the loca.  She will never forgive him!

Mariano and Pablo arrive for more pounding on the door and finally get a custodian to let them in.  They rush in to find their zombie momma zonked on the bed.  Augie, Pablo and Mariano have a protracted yelling session as Augie tries to keep them from taking Lo away and finally leave with her.

Augie returns home and presents Blanca with a massive boquet of long-stemmed red roses.  [Old folks] smoochies.

Gisela is pissed at Augie for letting Lo get away, he is pickled and having a pity party.  Oh, we wants to die, he’s tired, he’s got nothing to live for!  Gisela is going to save the day!  She’s going to make sure Lo doesn’t make a declaration against him.  Off she goes.

Well, Lo is fully recovered and gives Pablo her blessing as he goes off to the trial, recessed from yesterday.  She’s going to wait until she’s called to make a statement.  After he leaves she cackles to herself about how everyone will see the bad side of Augie while she plays the victim.  Of course Gisela shows up and they engage in more posturing and sparring about who’s the badder bitch -- again!  Gisela wants to know when Lo turned on her.  It was when Gisela started messing with her kids.  Lo agrees with Gisela’s assertion that she’s not the loving, doting mother-in-law and grandmother she pretends to be:  she hates La Gata and despises the babies.  Those horrid little things were born in the dump and will return there!  Gisela offers to repair their alliance.  NO!  This is a battle Lo wants to fight alone:  She DOES love her sons and is capable of doing anything to get them back including disappearing those wretched little bastards!

Thanks, Lila! I feel like you kind of got a dud of an episode. And on Christmas no less! Thanks for soldiering on an giving us this fine recap!

Gosh girl, it seems so effortless for you.

"It’s a miracle! Blanca has resurrected from catatonia by the bewitching mix of El Sil’s fake piano-playing, her silent lip sinking and hallucinating an audience!"

Pablo - impotent and having a little pee pee is not the same thing

Blanca - Felli Vanilli

Esmeralda - beads by numbers

Cha Cha - for a while I sold vacuum cleaners door to door

Garabato - errand boy

Mariano - sidekick

Lorenza - I eat Giselas for a snack

Augie - mood swings

Rita - there goes my stripper money

Good morning Sara and Tofie! Sara I was glad it was a dud of an episode for because of Christmas so it was a good deal! Thanks for reading it!

And thank you dear tofie! Love the list as usual! Yaay! Who's doing the countown, how much longer?

Good Recap!

Thanks Steve!

Hi, Lila. Loved your complete recap and your snarky comments.

Loved how Lorenza was doing the eye rolling thing. She must have been coached; you couldn't practice that in front of a mirror.

Rita was funny with her reluctant heroism.

I guess Ines isn't going to get the peace and love message any time soon.

Garabato's attitude swings make a weather vane look like the Rock of Gibraltar.

Thanks again, Lila.

David

Thank you Lila for your Christmas recap. I don't know why Uni runs the novelas on Christmas but they do. Thank you for your dedication.

Pablo and Mariano go tearing out to the little brick bodega on the prairie. They and the waiting detective burst in and...aw snap! It's empty. Pablo feels impotent.
Loved it Lila.

The list is here today--Thanks Tofie.

How much money is Gata going to make with her bead production?
enough to buy a couple of tacos maybe,

Looks like there is no hope for Ines. What went wrong with her, she was Rita's favorite.

No hope for Lo either. I thought that she was moving over to the good team but no, she hates the babies. You did some good acting last night but if you don't change your attitude towards the babies, well???

Hi Lila, hope you had a good holiday. Thanks for your dedication. Your recap is fabulous and way more than what you called a "skeletal summary".

Lila, thanks so much for the great recap. I missed the last two nights (and apparently an entire kidnapping plot), so catching up with your comments today is very helpful!

Shucks, I thought Lorenza was really getting attached to her little nietos. Guess not. What a shame--a villain with a human frailty is much more interesting than a cartoon-character villain like Augie.

So many loose ends with Virginia, Carlos, Dorila, the Dr formerly known as Hottie, Mariano and more. At some point I'm going to want some answers!!!

Lila, fine recap. My fave: Over at Rita’s shack Cha Cha is delivering a similar sermon. Well, his is more of a satisfying “I told you so”.

Hmmm, Lorenza vs Gisela. Theoretically, this should be a slam dunk for Lorenza since everybody on earth hates Gisela and knows she's BS cray cray. But who knows...

Nice to see Blanca's mind is back. Sanity looks well on her.

I don't get why the PI guy don't follow Gisela around all day. Would solve or prevent a lot.

How many more times is someone gonna run out to that cinderblock shack? Knock the damn thing down.

Thanks so much, Lila! I saw the second half of this episode and it was entirely too much Rita for my tastes, but I was so happy to see Blanca was in her right mind again. Now, when are they going to tell Esme about her real parents?

The rescue of Low was fab, as well as the conversation between Low and Ughie while while she was zonked out on drugs. I'm not sure those drugs ever really took effect-- her conversations were too lucid. I think she had the situation under control the whole time.

Hey David! Thank you so much! That eye rolling thing was freaky, man! And we have quite a few weather vanes on this piece don't we? D

Does Lorenza ever have even one moment of genuine, spontaneous human emotion without plotting, planning and evil ulterior motives?

Well, I guess she wouldn't be Lo!

Thanks gringo! Glad you liked it. It IS strange that they run novelas on Christmas, such a revered holiday! Oh well, like I said, made it easy on me.

So gringo, I see you thought she had a change of heart, too. I know she had! This flip-flopping is so annoying! Sheesh!

Hi, Foxy! Welcome! Yes I did and I hope you had a wonderful holiday as well. You are so welcome, glad to help keep this ship afloat!

:D Lila

Hi J! You are welcome and thank you! Yah, the whole Lorenza hating the baby things made me wonder if I had missed some episodes! Speaking of cartoonish, she was really cartoonish in this episode and yesterday with her evil thought bubbles. I don't believe her story about Virginia for a minute!

And yes, enough loose ends to make another novela! Did you notice Dr. Hottie popped in and never appeared again! Sloppy editing!

Thank you Niecie! I just want somebody to put a permanent hurting on Gisela. She gets away with everything because everybody is so hopelessly inept!

Yes, Blanca wears sanity well. Let's hope they keep her that way!

tofie, you're right, it would close a lot of cold cases and prevent a lot of havoc.

Cinder block shack, land fill, cheapest damned set in novela history, ain't it?

You are welcome, Vivi! There have been so many missed opportunities to tell Esme the truth, so many times when it would have made total sense and been a real healing and bonding gesture! I guess that's the problem "it would have made total sense." Sheesh!

Interesting thought about Lo being in control the whole time! I think you could be right and you should take credit for that, Vivi. I'm sure the "writers" could've never thought of it!

Thank you, Lila! Total dud episode...total gem of a recap! I particularly liked "little brick bodega on the prairie" :D I thought the recap title might have something to do with this show needing a little something-something to get its juices flowing again.

I think the "Blanca gets her memory back" scene was set in the same room where Pablo had one of his poetry classes. It's a weird room/set...nice cushy chairs (the same ones they have in the courtroom?) a small stage...maybe it's usually more of a nice bar-type set and they just took out all the tables and arranged the chairs in rows. I had always pictured Blanca as singing in huge arenas. Oh well. Sil's bad fake piano playing was painful! Had they not selected the music yet? He looked like he was trying to fake playing ragtime, not "generic ballad."

I smell editing! Hot Doc shows up for...absolutely nothing! Keep at it, Uni! Death to filler!

38 or fewer episodes to go!

El Sil's piano playing was miraculous, treble notes playing while tickling the base end of the ivories. That was quite a trick. I had played the piano for a number of years and never mastered that one.

I have been a Daniel A. fan for years, but after this mess am really disappointed. I am switching over to the hawt padre. I hope to see him again, perhaps at the wedding?

Lila. thanks for the great recap!!

Thanks, Diva! Yeah. It was hard to name this sucka. 38 or fewer to go. There's no telling what they're going to do. Just. do. not. hurt. the. babies!!!

You are welcome, emeraldrose! I don't know a lot about the world of novelas but it seems like a producer "buys" a stable of actors and have them under contract so they pretty much get stuck in roles in productions like this schmucked-up thing. Is that how it happens?
