La Malquerida #78, 12/11/14: Acacia’s Guilt & Self Pity Farewell Tour

Mexico Episode #84

Uli mourns what was and what could have been in the future with Acacia. Hector tells him he needs to go on with his life and achieve his goals, without Acacia. He gives Ulises a big bear hug, while Uli cries.

Esteban is driving out of the hacienda like a bat out of hell. Rubio tries to stop him- he’s not thinking clearly. Este whines about how hard he tried to save his marriage (a whole 3 weeks!), but Cris threw their marriage away. Rubio thinks that since he’s decided to dump Cris, he should take Acacia with him. Este says there’s only one thing stopping that—Acacia herself.

Acacia reproaches Cristina for letting Esteban go, and demands that she pull herself together and stop Este from leaving. Cris doesn’t want a man by her side who doesn’t understand or share her pain over the loss of their child. She thinks it’s best that he goes.
A: React! React! (Wake up!) And run and stop him! WE lost him once, but this time if he leaves forever it’s going to be YOUR fault for being such a WEAK woman!
C: (SLAP!) Respect me! I’m your mother!
Acacia says Cris needs to woman up and save her marriage. Cris tells Acacia that if she’s so worried about Esteban not being there, then she should go with him.
C: If my child didn’t survive, it was a sign that my marriage also couldn’t be saved… From the looks of it, neither he nor you understand me, but I also don’t care that you do.
A: Are you saying that I’m not important to you?

Cris lets Acacia know that she’s always been her priority, but it seems that Acacia couldn’t care less about what Cris feels or thinks. For example, she never follows Cris’ advice—not about Ulises, not about testifying- and now she’s living with the consequences of her actions. Acacia takes all of this personally and accuses Cris of taking her pain out on her. She leaves Cris alone, and probably more depressed than before. Soon after, JC and Elena come in, as Cris stares at a picture of Acacia and Este. They bring her tea, which she puts aside. Acacia told them what happened and they are concerned. Cris doesn’t want to hear it. If her own daughter doesn’t support her, what can she expect from everyone else! She demands that they leave her alone. She goes back to staring at the picture and crying.

In the living room, Acacia gets as far as selecting Este’s number on her cell phone, but the grandparents come out before she can dial. Acacia gets in a snit when she hears that Cris didn’t listen to them either. She’s angry that her clinically depressed mother won’t just snap out of it and decide to get psychological help, and save her marriage. JC tries to get her to calm down. Acacia doesn’t. She says one day Cris is going to wake up and realize that she’s lost the love of everyone who loves her! (Real empathetic, that Acacia.)

Luisa goes to see Manuel. Before she can tell him that she’s pregnant, he jumps in and says he doesn’t want her causing any more problems between him and Acacia. Now that Ulises has given him a new contract for a site for his business, he’s buckling down and getting serious, and he doesn’t need her ruining it for him. Luisa doesn’t let this intimidate her and tells Manuel straight up that she’s pregnant. He first denies, then tries to throw the blame on Arturo. When Luisa stands her ground and points out that he’s the ONLY man she’s had sex with, ever, he blames her for not being consistent with the birth control pills. Neither of them sees Juliana entering and listening in. She pulls Manuel aside, curses Luisa out and calls her a cheap whore, and then slaps Luisa so hard she nearly tumbles to the ground. Juliana then threatens Luisa—demanding that she have an abortion. She drives her point home by saying she’s not going to get anything more than abortion money from Manuel; that she’ll ruin her supposed burgeoning culinary career with an unwanted pregnancy; and that she’ll break her poor grandmother with this news. She doesn’t want that, does she? Poor Luisa slinks away with tears in her eyes without saying anything more. After she leaves, Manuel smirks and gets the taste smacked out of his mouth with another powerful slap from Juliana. They take the argument into the living room, where she fusses at him for not being more selective and careful about dropping his pants and using protection. Norb joins in the fun, and I’m surprised that he doesn’t slap Manuel too. He yells at Manuel that he should be impregnating Acacia, NOT her servant! Juliana tries to scam money out of Norb by asking him for the abortion money for her to give Luisa, but Norb is on to her. He’ll take the money to Luisa himself.

Esteban checks into the hotel and runs into Hector at the front desk. He lets Hector know that he’s left the house because of Cris. He’s sure Hector is just chomping at the bit to run over there. Hector tells him now is not the time for the jealousy crap and that this is the time when Cris needs Este the most—his love, support and patience. Seems Este is all out of that. He tells Hector that he has his permission to go see Cris. Maybe she’ll actually want to see him. Upstairs in his hotel room, Esteban looks like a happy and free man as he enjoys a drink and thinks of Acacia. Then he thinks of Cris angrily throwing him out and says to himself that he hopes Hector approaches her because he would be doing him a favor. Jerk.

Acacia goes crying to Ale in the brothel. Dan is obviously not pleased that they have an unexpected visitor near brothel opening time, but he’s also eager to listen in and get any gossip about the goings-on at Benavente. He hovers in the background, pretending to be on a call, all the while listening in as Acacia tearfully describes her fight with Cris and Este’s departure. She comes near to telling Ale about the kiss, but Dan’s presence stops her. Ale seems to understand that something more happened between Acacia and Este, even without hearing the details. She tries to assure Acacia that Cris and Este have been married too long to just throw it away. Acacia asks Ale if she can stay the night at her place. Both Ale and Dan freeze. Dan makes excuses about the house being full already, but offers to pay for a hotel for her. Acacia obviously feels slighted and embarrassed and hurriedly leaves. Ale points out to Dan how bad this made her look, considering how Acacia and her family took her in at her hour of need. Dan doesn’t care. If Acacia finds out about his crooked biz, Ale can say bye bye to her friends.

The next stop on Acacia’s Guilt & Self Pity Tour, is Ulises’ office where he’s working late and fueling up on coffee. She asks for his forgiveness once again, and he thinks this is a bit of overkill. She says it will never be enough for the way she betrayed him. She tells him he’s a better person than she is, caresses his face, and says she needs him more than ever. She asks if he no longer feels anything for her.
U: How can I feel nothing when you’ve been the most important woman in my life? You were everything to me, Acacia.
A: Then if we make an effort, we can be together again.
U: I don’t know. Because just as you are the woman I’ve most loved, you’re also the woman who has hurt me the most. (She touches his chest at heart level.) I swear I’ve never been in love like this before. (He takes her hand.) I thought together we could solve any problem, that together we could build a future. But now I see that you aren’t capable of that. (He drops her hand.)

Acacia cries, asks him to forgive her, and then makes the mistake of making it all about HER again: “I feel so bad, I need you, I’m having so many problems with my mother, and I feel so alone. Please.” She kisses his hand. Uli catches on to the fact that she’s there just because she’s feeling lonely, and points out that she’s not alone—she has Manuel and Esteban, whom she always puts above him. He tells her that he can’t be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t believe in him. How many times has she promised to believe in him and broken her word? For that reason he is NEVER, ever, ever, getting back together… Acacia says she should have never come. She’s sorry for bothering him, and for having hurt him so much.

Ale takes the dvds she stole from Dan’s office from under the mattress and duct tapes them to the back of the nightstand, where we see that she also has her cell phone taped. Dan nearly catches her and she pretends she was having trouble getting the lamp to turn on, but fixed it. She turns the tables on Dan and says how upset she is about the way he treated Acacia. He thinks Acacia is just some spoiled little rich girl who gets upset and cries about a hangnail. Plus, if she found out about the biz, he’d have to kill her. So, he was really helping her by turning her away.

Juliana makes Norberto his favorite pasta dish and puts on her seductive act. He knows she’s hanging around just because she needs money. He tells her she can stay in the hacienda until their divorce case is decided. She turns up the seduction. He then says they should forget about the divorce all together. She’s considering it—if he stops being abusive to her and treats her better. He points out that she’s run out of rich male options in this town, now that she’s lost her chance with Andres. He promises to give her exactly what she wanted when she married him—to be treated like a queen. She has another request—that he woo her, they sleep in separate bedrooms, no nookie, and they take it slow, for now. He’s turned on enough, and I suppose loves her enough, to agree to these conditions.

Stop number three on the Acacia Guilt & Self Pity Tour is Manuel. She comes into his living room and immediately hugs him. Esteban left the house, wah, wah, wah. She quickly realizes that Manuel is drunk as a skunk. She scolds him about staying on the straight and narrow. Acacia is disgusted and disappointed and says he will never change. She leaves. He whispers to himself that he’s going to be a dad.

Luisa has told Arturo what happened with Manuel and Juli. She’s crying and upset, but is also aware of the very real challenges of being a single mother with no money. Arturo can’t believe she would even consider an abortion, and is about to say that he would be willing to…but Luisa is too caught up fretting about how she could possibly support a baby when she can’t even support herself.

Stop number four on the Acacia Guilt & Self Pity Tour is Alonso’s tomb. Poor guy. She says that she tried to get Cris to react, and she tried to distance herself from Esteban (uh huh), but she can’t fight it. She thinks she’s in love with Esteban.

The next morning, Acacia and the abuelos talk in the hallway. They feel that Cris’ marriage is really at risk of being over. They ask Acacia to please be patient with her. They are shocked that Acacia hasn’t gone to see Cris since the argument the day before, and isn’t planning on it. JC urges her to do so.

Manuel wakes up on the couch with his clothes and hangover from the night before. He calls Luisa and says they have to talk right away, and not in Benavente where people can overhear. They have to take care of this now. Luisa promises him that she didn’t get pregnant on purpose, and excitedly runs off to meet him. She quickly blows off Arturo, who has come to see how she is, telling him that Manuel has reconsidered.

Julianita begs Dan for the extra money he had promised to give her, so that she can bring it to her family when she goes to visit them soon. He brushes her off, saying he can’t show her favoritism above the other girls. Ale observes and is clearly moved by J-nita’s plight, while simultaneously being disgusted by Dan as he kisses them both farewell. His parting words for Ale—that we have to sacrifice for love.

Acacia’s kindness and patience with Cris lasts about two seconds—I kid you not. It lasts long enough to find out if Cris is going to try to get Este to come back. Then she gets angry and starts yelling at Cris when she says she doesn’t want him back. She only calms down when Cris confesses that Este wants kids, and she can no longer give them to him. And instead of staying with her grieving, depressed, crying mother after that revelation, she promptly leaves.

Alejandra continues to play spy. This time she sets up the cell phone to record, partially hidden behind a stack of books, and has J-nita pour her heart out about how Dan runs the brothel and treats the girls—he keeps most of the money they earn, he beats and threatens them, her family doesn’t know what she does to earn money, etc. Ale asks questions, and J-nita spills it all, not knowing she’s being recorded.

Luisa gives Manuel a big hug and prepares to talk about how they are going to together handle her pregnancy. He quickly burst her bubble and tells her there is only one way to deal with it—an abortion. He hands her an envelope with a wad of cash to get it done, and to keep a little extra for herself. He’s even been thoughtful enough to put the card of an abortion clinic inside the envelope.  Luisa can’t believe that he wants to get rid of their baby. She refuses to take the money. Manuel says he’s doing what’s right. Luisa says what’s right is for him to take responsibility for their child. Norberto comes out and joins the argument. He gets in Luisa’s face and threatens that she WILL know him if she keeps bothering them! He shoves the money in her hand and makes her leave. Luisa walks down the street sobbing. Manuel looks vaguely regretful.

Ale emails the video to herself, praying that the upload completes before anyone comes in. When the video is successfully sent, she erases it from the phone.

Juliana and Norb have a tame (for them) argument about Manuel and whose fault it is that he’s spoiled and knocked Luisa up. Norb is sure that Luisa will get the abortion. Juli hopes so, because she doesn’t want more problems with Cris. Norb is all about Juli getting back on Cris’ good side since she will hopefully soon be their consuegra (mother-in-law of their son). Talk of money and power always turns these two on. Juli turns on the sex appeal, and Norb responds by putting his hand on her leg. She wants him to speak to Este and get him to make Cris forgive her, since Cris always listens to him. Not only are these two way out of the loop on the latest Cris-Este gossip, they are also greatly misinformed if they ever thought Cris just does what Este says.

I would say this is another stop on the Guilt & Self Pity Tour, but Acacia’s visit to Esteban’s hotel room has nothing to do with that. This is the Lust & Self-centered Tour. She asks Este if it’s true that he left because Cris can no longer give him a child, and that he really only came back because Cris was pregnant. He admits it’s true! Since before he came back, he hasn’t seen Cris as a woman—instead he’s seen Acacia that way!

Arturo is waiting for Luisa when she gets home. He gives her a much needed hug. She’s decided to make an appointment at the abortion clinic. She can’t tell her grandmother she’s pregnant because she would die of sadness. She can’t reveal the truth to Acacia or Cris because it would cause a huge problem. She can’t afford to have the baby and continue with school. Arturo tries to tell her that there are many women who are able to do both, but Luisa can’t see any hope. She asks Art to come with her to the clinic and to let her use working with him as a pretext for the day they go. He takes her hand and promises to stand by her and be with her. They hug.

Well, Acacia has gone back into Guilt & Self Pity mode. She wants to know when Este stopped feeling that way about Cris, and wants his assurance that it's not her fault. Este says his feelings for Cris are independent of his feelings for her, but does admit that his feelings for Cris started to change when he started to feeling something for Acacia. (Yeah, he kind of contradicted himself there.) Acacia puts her hand over her mouth, as if shocked by this revelation. Este says routine has killed the love he feels for Cris. He cares for her deeply and wants her to be well, but the love he once felt for her…well…it’s turned into affection and friendship. What they once were, will never be again. Acacia accuses him of really acting like a jealous lover (towards Uli and Manuel), back when she thought he was just looking out for her and being fatherly. He asks her not to take it that way—he WAS just looking out for her. Uli and Manuel weren’t good enough for her/at her level.
A: But I loved Ulises.
E: Realize that what you felt for Ulises was an illusion and not love. He’s not mature enough for you. He doesn’t have any life experience or anything to offer you. He’s an idiot! How could he throw aside a marvelous woman like you? While I…I would do anything/everything for you, Acacia. Everything.

Cris tells Rosa that she feels an emptiness in the pit of her stomach thinking about Esteban. She loves him, but she thinks he deserves to be with a woman who can give him kids. She’s going to set him free.

Esteban begs Acacia to say something. She’s confused; she doesn’t know what to say; this is something forbidden.  He shushes her and says he has no intention of going back to Cris. He’s going to ask for a divorce. Acacia says she can’t do this to Cris. Imagine how their lives would be, how people would talk about them. And Cris would die of sadness.
E: You keep talking about what everyone else will say. But what about you? If you tell me that you feel the same, then we can go far from here, where no one knows us and we can live our love. I need to know that you feel the same for me.
A: The truth is that I’m dying of fear. Because yes, Esteban. I feel the same as you.

She pulls him into a passionate, unending kiss.

Avances: Esteban and Acacia get hot and heavy in the hotel room, but do they go further? Juliana bumps into Acacia in the hotel hallway in front of Este’s room.

Wow...Vivi..your recaps are always a bright spot in my early morning. they help to start my day on a good note. I have not had a chance to see this episode yet, but I could see the scenes unfold in my mind as Inread your excellently detailed recap.

Ack..yikes...so self absorbed...me me me ...I. I ..I. No matter what happens, it is akways about her in Ack's little girl world. Time to put on your big girl pants. Your mother needs support and unconditional love.

I will be back later. .... time to get the little girls to school.

I've got meetings much of the first part of the day, so I won't be able to comment until later. Have at it folks! This was a turning point episode.

Acacia knows full well that she is betraying her mother, and knows that society will not be kind about this kind of betrayal. But she's diving in anyway! She was ramping up her anger towards Cris in order to justify betraying her.

I was proud of Uli for standing his ground, and for realizing that Acacia's visit was all about Acacia.

I was not proud of Luisa for actually thinking that Manuel was going to do the right thing, and especially for the way she just blew by Arturo, high on the hope that Manuel was about to declare his intentions to be responsible for their baby. But I felt so sorry her her having to go up against the worst of the Palacios (every Palacios except German), and was proud of her for attempting to hold her ground against baddies Juliana and Norberto.

Go Ale, go! Way to be all Alejandra Mars. :)

Morning Susanlynn! Yes, it was ALL about Acacia. No room for anyone else and their feelings. Not Uli, and not Cris.

Thank you Vivi. You catch even the smallest detail and nuance.

Ulis hung his future on a girl that was just play acting romance, he had to go through hell to realize it.

Gosh, Norberto & Juliana (& Manuel) are so slimy but I just love how these no goods call each other out as they constantly maneuver against each other, while targeting their next kill. I could watch a whole episode of just them sparing.

Luisa rushing out, hopeful, was sad. Arturo will never be loved by her.

Vivi, I am completely in awe of your inspired recap. I could not believe everything that transpired in the first 15 minutes alone. Every scene was jaw clenching, stomach churning and completely mesmerizing.

I hung on every single word you wrote. It was masterfully recounted and your dialog translations were truly appreciated. Excellent.

"Acacia’s Guilt & Self Pity Tour" and "Lust & Self-centered Tour" were wry and wonderful. But what spoke to me were your observations on Acacia including: "She’s angry that her clinically depressed mother won’t just snap out of it and decide to get psychological help, and save her marriage".

Where to begin? Let's start with "...he only calms down when Cris confesses that Este wants kids, and she can no longer give them to him. And instead of staying with her grieving, depressed, crying mother after that revelation, she promptly leaves".

Traitorous, treacherous Acacia has completely blown my mind. I could not believe she wasn't even going to speak to Cris after their argument until JC made her. And then to have Cris bare her soul and for Acacia to leave her was unconscionable.

"Este says routine has killed the love he feels for Cris". No, Este you and Acacia did that. All on your own. Reprehensible.

I was relieved that Uli stood his ground with her and did not weaken. Please writers, bring Itzel back and quickly.

I do not know how Luisa survived the verbal and physical attacks last night. While my heart sank when Luisa ran out on Arturo to meet Manuel, she needed to see and hear that she and the child were nothing but a problem to him. Manuel's reaction was no surprise but he showed the coward he truly is by not intervening when Juli slapped Luisa.

I gravely underestimated Juli. I did have a tiny bit of sympathy for her because of Norberto but that completely dissipated last night. What a conniving, heartless shrew.

tofie, I so agree that Juli and Norberto scheming and sliming over each other is quite the show.

And yet, in spite of all the darkness last night, a few shafts of light managed to break through. Hector running into Este at the hotel. "Hector tells him now is not the time for the jealousy crap and that this is the time when Cris needs Este the most—his love, support and patience. Seems Este is all out of that". Indeed. Hector, make haste to Cris. Pronto.

And the second spark was provided by our wonderful Ale who has every reason in the world to give up but continues to fight. What an ingenious idea taping Juli.

Acacia admitting to sharing Esteban's feelings and initiating the kiss (again) leaves no doubt they deserve each other. And where they are going. And it's not to heaven.

Diana

Not sure if it is the intent of the story, writers and actors (great job) or it's me, and sick as it is, Estaban and Acacia belong together. Ulis seems a kid now, their romance a crush, and Esteban called it right, Acacia wants a man, him.

Acacia, clicks off all the reasons not to go for it and then jumps right in. This is the third time and it still startles me.

Lest we not forget leering, lying, spying Danilo.

Could he have been any more obvious? As Ale's back was to him she could not see he was far from engrossed in his phone conversation and was hearing every single word.

As usual, Ickacia was focused solely on herself although she did appear to view him warily. I was waiting for her to spill the frijoles about her and Este and was trying to decide would that be a good or a bad thing??

From the previews Vivi mentioned, it seems Juli catches Aca leaving Este's room. Juli is many things but stupid isn't one of them.

Diana

Danny was never out of earshot and jumped right on Acacia's request to stay there. Pimp daddy to a T.

What happens if Danny finds those videos? So far he's killed one as a warning to Ale. Who could be next, I can't see how Danny would just brush this one off with only a beating. Unfortunate thing is Acacia is the one that has access to Ale's eM account, will she help Ale?

tofie, leave it to Danilo to walk in JUST as Ale was moving the nightstand back into place!

He forgets nothing and my fear is that he will look and find the videos. And yes, terrible vengeance is sure to follow.

Diana

Excellent recap Vivi!
Acacia put quite a few miles on those stilettos while on her Guilt & Self Pity Tour. I noticed that when she entered Este-creepy’s room that she put her purse on the bed and her cell phone on the chest of drawers…maybe she left if behind so they have an excuse to see each other again?

Great comments, I am watching the episode right now

This show just keeps on rocking....great writing,,great acting..

I have to say that if Damnilo had allowed Ack to spend the night at the bordella , she does have the wardrobe for it. She and Ale and Juli could share clothes,

I think that Arturo loves Luisa and will offer to marry her. Luisa will grow to love Art because he is kind and loving, They will raise the baby together.

What is Juliana's new game with Norb ? Is she just smarming around him to get a roof over her head while she continues to pursude Hector...or Hector's cash ? I agree that watching Juliana, Norb, and Manuel together is a lesson in wheeling and dealing. Who's zooming whom ?

So..who will still be standing in the end ? I think that Ack's punishment will be discovering that all this time she has been lusting after her father's killer. She will have to live with that for the rest of her life. Que lastima. What a price to pay for a selfish, spoiled little girl to pay. That news will make her grow up fast.
I just watched the previews for tonight. Juli sees Ack in the hotel hallway. Then, Este comes out of his room, and Juli turns to see him as he calls out Ack's name. Wow..Juli was in the right place at the right time. Juli looked at Este..then at Ack with a very suspicious look on her conniving face,

Gee, wouldn't it have been great if Este had had one too many of those tiny bottles of booze and said to Aack, "Well, when I first killed your dad and married your mother, things were great, but then you came home looking hotter than hot and being all young and virginal and your mother was older......and suddenly...the thrill was gone with her ....stuff happens....it's nobody's fault, girl...you are good.,

Does Este realize how expensive those tiny bottles in hotel rooms are ? Isn't he on a budget now that Cris is no longer picking up his tab ?

Este is such an impulsive opportunist. He does not realize that this is the beginning of the end for him. His lust made him rock the comfy boat that he has been sailing in since he killed Alonso and took over his wife and his life. Now, he has struck a deal with the devil Damnilo , and Este will be dragged into hades with him. I hope that Alonso gets a chance to wave at him as Este heads downward. Here comes karma. He is never going to get a chance to "live his love" with Ack. Boohoo and bleecchhh

Lawd, Susanlynn, isn't that what Esteban said? Well, cept for the, I killed your daddy to marry your mama part.

Of course, they'll never live out their fantasy. Run away where and do what? Can you see Acacia preggers, holed up in a little apartment, glued to fb all day and Esteban digging ditches and grabbing a beer with the boys on the way home, bitching about the little woman at home and needing new tires for his truck.

Great comments today, everyone!

Tofie- You make a good point that what Este has in mind is a fantasy. Where will they go, and what with they do. Este is a man with little patience, and who covets what he cannot have. I don't think he will take well to having to start over from scratch, with no connections (I'm sure most would cut ties). Plus a wife by his side who isn't the capable, self assured helpmate Cris was. Sure, playmate Acacia would be fun for a while, but I guarantee he'd get tired and bored of the little girl act much more quickly than he got tired of Cris-- that took 10 years. I give him and Acacia five years tops, if even that when you add some crying babies on top of his crying child-bride.

tofie.....Make it so ! It couldn't happen to a nicer guy, verdad ? Be careful what you wish for, Este. Little Princessa is used to a cushy life of being spoiled. Coddled, and pamped...waited on and worried about. After the good lovin', she will want the finer things in life that she feels entitled to...tiny dresses and stilettos..canopied bds with 400 count Egyptian sheets, a pony....etc Those little candy treats you used to give will not satisfy her anymore.

Acacia is spoiled ! There, I said it !

Rubio must be silently jumping for joy and licking his chops right now. Cris in a deep depression. Este off the hacienda. Acacia poised to run away with Este to God knows where. That would leave Rubio as top dog at the hacienda-- just what he's always wanted. Now, if he could just get rid of any and all competitors for Luisa, things would be perfect.

If I didn't know better, Acacia is more similar to Juli than Cris and should be her daughter. We saw how well Juli fared out in the real world. She was like a bb rolling around in a can. Made a lot of noise but couldn't find a place to stay.

I still do not get Rubio's reasoning , VIvi. He might be top dog overseer , but he would never be the owner of the hacienda unless he has squirreled away a lot of ill gotten gain over the years and could buy it from Cris.

tofie..perfect description of Juliana. Perish the thought of getting an actual J-O-B to support HERSELF. I am thinking of Blanche is Streetcar Named Desire...Juliana has always counted on the "kindness" of others (read that as MEN). It will be interesting yo see what becomes of her scheming, wheeling, dealing self in the end. Hopefully, Hector is too sophisticated to buy what she is selling. "I knit you a scarf. Now , can I count on you to support me in the style that I have become accustomed to...for the rest of my life..pretty please.? I'll throw in a matching beanie to go with the scarf if you buy me more wool."

yeah, Rubio's plan got holes all in it. At least Esteban went for the owners wife not the granddaughter of the cook. It could all be for naught if Hector sweeps in as Esteban hopes and should Esteban & Acacia run away and she is not disinherited it will be hers and Esteban's ranch. Heck, Norberto, Juli & Manuels plan for the ranch could derail Rubio if Esteban & Acacia not work out.

No spoiler but I'm sure Luisa will opt to keep the baby.

Another small detail Rubio did not foresee in his quest for power and hacienda domination.

Diana

Susanlynn- Rubio obviously has a long end game. I'm sure he would always figure out a way to get to the next step. Becoming the Administrator of the hacienda, he could do all kinds of funny business with the money and legal papers.

Plus, as Dan already hinted when he told Norb they would talk about "other" biz if/when he gets his claws into Benavente, Dan thinks it would be prime drug growing land. Rubio is already involved with Dan's drug biz and getting paid well, and would certainly be willing to dive in deeper by seeding Benavente's lands and taking a healthy cut.

There are all kinds of ways he could ruin or dupe Cris (if she stays in this depressed state) and gets his hands on her land.

Diana- I am positive Luisa won't get an abortion. Even if she gets close, I'm sure Art will manage to talk her out of it last minute. I don't think Luisa would forgive herself if she had an abortion, and she would be more ashamed to face her grandmother afterwards than she would be to just tell her she's pregnant.

DIana..yes, I think that Luisa will have the baby , and Art will be at her side. Hen, nurture will prevail over nature , and Manuel' s genes will be cancelled out by Art's goodness and his loving family. The baby will also have a lovely abuela, a loving great abuela , an Abuelo who is a doctor, and a fine uncle .Rosa will be accepted into the family, too. I like happy endings. With Rosa, Art, and Luisa cooking, holidays will be delicious !

I still don't know what I think of the whole Acacia needs/wants a real man thing. Frankly, I think Uli is more of a man in the true sense than Este is. He takes care of his family, he works hard, he takes responsibility, he's loyal and faithful, and we have seen that he knows how to physically protect a woman with the way he put his life on the line for Itzel, and he can hold his own in a prison fight. In what way is Este more of a man than he is.

And I could barely contain my laughter when Este said that neither Manuel or Uli are at Acacia's level. If that level is the basement, then yeah, because Uli is WAY above her level, and Manuel might be just right.

Oh my goodness. It's a rainy lazy day morning. I'm just starting and have a half a book to write but I see twenty nine comments already posted. I am so behind so I must get started. I'm going to read the recap before I comment so as not to get anything wrong.

Ack is a little girl who does not yet understand what a"real, man is. A real man is responsible, caring, protective, understanding, loyal, honest, hardworking. I see these qualities in Art, Uli, German, Andres, Hector. Hmmm...Este ..not so much. Este is a little boy who tries to take what he wants.. A spoiled little girl (Ack) with a grasping, petulant little boy.(Este) ... .disaster waiting to happen.

Thanks for the recap!

One question: Where was big sexy?!?! (Speaking of his absence in this episode, his new lady love hasn't appeared in the past couple episodes)

Poor Luisa. I hope she doesn't go through with the abortion. I hope Arturo can help her through this.

I can see how getting back with Norbie benefits Juli but what's in it for him? Does he have some kind of plan or was he being serious? These two truly confuse me.

I think I finally understand what's going on with Cris and Este (it took me long enough. Why didn't I see it before). Cris doesn't know that Este only considered the baby as his "salvation" and that's why he's upset that she lost the baby. She didn't necessarily "fail" him the way that she thinks. However, I don't think Este's attraction to Ack would've gone away even with the baby. I'm curious as to why Cris and Este didn't try to have a child before Ack returned. They had like what 10 years?

TF- Cris and Este weren't married in the Church, because they didn't have Acacia's approval. A child born out of the Church, even if the parents are married civilly, is considered illegitimate by the Church. Cris didn't even think of throwing out the birth control pills until after she had the Church wedding recently. Plus, as she said the other day, it was never important to Este before. He wasn't eager to have a child. It wasn't until he and she saw how affected he was by the loss of this baby that they both realized just how much he does want a child.

I'm glad we didn't have to see Lizy and German canoodling. But I'm sure they have been growing closer in all these weeks that have passed by that we haven't heard from them. German's life has finally calmed down a bit after the string of bad weeks he was having.

You're right Vivi. Ok I understand now. Thanks. I'm going to contradict myself but I do wonder IF there would've been even the slightest possibility that the baby would've changed Esteban.

I wonder how long Ack and Este will keep this affair going because I just don't see them ending up together. Something may have to happen to at least stall the affair.

TF- Norb seems to be genuinely besotted with Juliana. He knows her game, but he also falls for it every time. All she has to do is bat her eyelashes, flip her hair, cook him some pasta, and give him a come hither look, and he becomes putty. Until the next time she refuses to sleep with him, flirts with another man, or just generally annoys him.

I see what you're saying Vivi. I was going to say I was surprised that Norbie hasn't paid a visit to Julianita lately but that doesn't mean he won't eventually. And whether or not Juliana suspects something she will still choose the money.

Well said Vivi.

Few things are consistent in this storyline but Norberto's addiction to Juli is one of them.

Diana

Norb and Juliana are Bonnie and Clyde...if Bonnie despised Clyde.

TF, I am sure Norberto will visit Juli Jr. the next time Juli Sr. shoots him down.

Again. :)

Diana

TF- I do wonder if she's going to keep pursuing Hector, even while she's living with Norb again. I can see Norb going after Hector with that gun of his, like he did with Andres. :)

Wow---Thirty four comments and I am just beginning. I guess that I am too late for the party but anyway, here goes.

Just a few brief things to start with.

Vivi---EXCELLENT as always but only a few words about it this time.
Acacia's two tours stood out to me
The self pity tour and the lust and self centered tour.

Luisa blows off Arturo because she thinks that Manuel has reconsidered---yeah right.

Manuel is thoughtful and gives her
the card of the abortion clinic--
nice guy.

Did anyone notice the spaghetti had no sauce on it.

Great comments Tofie 11:42AM and
Susanlynn 12:23PM

What will be Rubio's next move? His character is both interesting and intriguing.
The gringo

Gringo- Too late for the party? Que?! We're just getting started. Step up to the punch bowl, amigo. :)

Gringo- I was wondering if the sauce was coming and Juli hadn't brought it to the table. But I did have a thought when I saw the scene that all Juli probably knows how to do is boil the pasta. :) However, we have heard from Andres and others that she knows how to cook and does it well.

LOL Diana. I like that: Sr. and Jr.

Vivi, I wouldn't be surprised if Juliana tries to still pursue Hector a little longer. I don't think she will give up quite yet. If and when she does I wonder what the reason will be because obviously it could take a lot to stop her.

I did notice the spaghetti looked plain. Is that all she cooked? No side dish? Salad? Dessert? Wine?

Thanks, Vivi. Simply a sensational recap. Thanks for taking the time to cover some choice dialogue in detail. I didn’t realized Norb “yells at Manuel that he should be impregnating Acacia, NOT her servant!” – lol. I too loved Acacia’s Guilt & Self Pity Tour.

Not to sound like the Church Lady, but Acacia is going to hell in a handbasket! I don’t really know who she is. She’s been kind to Ale and Luisa, but when the rubber meets the road she’s all about me-me-me.

Ale is so sweet and patient with Acacia. In my fantasy Ale yells at her, “Honey, if you want to get really kinky and steal another woman’s man, take my husband – please!”

Acacia’s visit with Uli was awkward. I know he’s still in love with her, but I’m wondering if he could feel the difference in her. She reeked of selfish desperation, not love. I hope this is the end of him pining for her.

Maybe Esteban’s punishment will be that he and Acacia do indeed run off together and live their love. No way will Acacia be able to handle this taboo and she’ll drive him nuts with her constant whining about.

There's no show tonight because of the telethon, right?

Niecie,

Hypothetically speaking, if I had no other choice, I would choose Este over Dan any day. With Dan, every woman he has would have to "fulfill her duties" to him. I don't even think Acacia deserves to be put through that.

Niecie.."selfish desperation".. What a perfect description of Ack and her going on the road looking for comfort and support ...and getting none.

Ok---Time for my rant. 90% of the comments today are either about Cris, Este or Acacia. I'm going to go in a different direction. I'm going to center on my favorite
Luisa. But first a brief Acacia thought. We all know that Acacia has been loved a little too much
resulting in her being self centered and spoiled. Her beautiful young body looks great in a bikini but that's about as far as it goes, there's little else. I hope that Uli doesn't allow Acacia to talk her way back into his good graces.

OK. Now my rant. Luisa made me both angry and sad last night. I was nearly yelling at my tv ---Luisa get a backbone and FIGHT!!! I don't blame Luisa for her mistake. Every young girl/woman dreams about living in blissful happiness with a handsome young prince. Manuel is handsome but he is no prince. Ok, Luisa couldn't see that, she thought that he would soon wake up and see her as a beautiful princess but he didn't. The harm has been done so go talk to Manuel
surely he will understand and love me now--not! Raging Juliana screams at Luisa and gives her a powerful slap. Oh what I wanted, what I really wanted was for Luisa
to put everything that she had in her small stature and knock bruja
Juliana on her bruja ass but instead as Vivi wrote Luisa slinks away with tears in her eyes

Why didn't Luisa fight? Nearly all of her life she had been told that she is nothing more than a servant. Luisa lacks self esteem and so after Juliana unleashed on her, Luisa accepted her fate and slinked away.

Wasn't it later that raging bull Norberto put abortion money in her hand and told her to be off and never come back. Again, I wanted Luisa to FIGHT!!! Throw the money in Norbie's face and tell him that she will sue for child support. What is Norbie going to do, beat her up? She will have him thrown in jail if he touches her. I was so disappointed in her. My only hope now is that Arturo can reach her bleeding heart.
the gringo

I just now saw that the Teleton will be on tonight and no 9pm or 10pm show. OK. So we have all weekend to discuss how Acacia is going to hell in a handbasket. :) Thanks, Niecie.

Gringo- I too wanted Luisa to fight even harder, but considering the two evil giants she was going against, I'm impressed she talked back as much as she did. My real disappointment in her was the way she so quickly ran to Manuel, thinking he had turned into a prince, and barely gave the REAL prince a backwards glance as she went out the door.

Luisa is afraid that Rosa will know. Rosa will know anyway, she is bound to find out. So another great scenario for a woman scorned
could be is for Luisa to go back to the ranch and wait for Manuel to come calling on Acacia and when she catches Manuel close to Acacia---unleash on Manuel as to what basura he is and throw the abortion hush money in Manuel's
face and tell all in front of Acacia. That would rock both Acacia's and Manuel's world.
the gringo

I wanted to strangle Manuel as he just stood there and smiled while Juli tore into Luisa. Let mama clean up after the punk.

My stomach turned over when Lusia ran to Manuel despite what had transpired the day before. Left Arturo just standing there. Though Art is a good and noble guy, why is it his responsibility to clean up Manuels mess when Lusia doesn't really give a flip about him? I know she plays at being buds with him but you can see what side her bread is buttered. Have some self respect Art.

I think that there is a reason Luisa cannot or will not see Manuel for the lazy , spoiled person he is. Luisa, Ack, Manuel, and German grew up together, and it seems that the three did not treat Luisa like a servant but rather as an equal. Luisa cannot or will not let go of her image of that boy who was her puppy love.

ITA I don't like seeing Arturo treated as a doormat. Luisa is not in love with him. I don't want him jumping in to make her "an honest woman" when she's still jumping for Manuel.

Though she was cowed before Juliana, I give Luisa kudos for not letting Norb hand her money. What Luisa truly fears -- and me too -- is Rosa's reaction. Rosa has never spoken of Mr. Rosa, so I'm wondering if she's got firsthand experience of Domingo siete herself.

Good point Susanlynn---they grew up together.

I don't want to be selfish and a self centered me, me, me kind of guy. I know that the telethon is a good thing and for a needed cause. All I will say is that it's going to be a looong wait until este lunes when La Malquerida airs again.
the gringo

I paused my recording of the episode from Wed. night to get a better look at those three CDs that spilled out of the cabinet. One was labeled " Julanita y Norberto." Another was " Lic. Fernandez y E (something)." The third was unlabeled. It appears that Damnilo is prepared to blackmail other guys besides old Norb.

Niecie...Good point about Rosa. It is a possibility.

Susanlynn- Thanks for going back and looking. I'm sure Dan tapes every prominent/important man who visits his brothel. Lic. Fernandez could be a prominent lawyer/prosecutor/judge in the area. Who knows who else he has in his pocket with these bribe videos.

I'm so angry that I can't stop thinking about I'm better than most people Juliana. You know that if she looks down on Luisa the servant girl, she no doubt looks down on others as well. Didn't she once yell at the ranch foreman because he dared to enter her house to talk about something? I guess that it's a cultural thing but I just can't get over treating people like that. Even though Luisa is going to cooking school learning a trade, and is partners in a catering business Juliana still said something to the effect that she serves food to people. OMG!
I can't wait to see Juliana get knocked down on her pompous but.

One more thing that bothers me is,
Why do they have to make this witch so pretty? She should have long skraggly hair and ugly features. Anyway, I cant wait for her fall. I want to see her out working for a living like millions of others have to do. Don't get me wrong. It's not that she has money or that she lives the good life---it's her attitude.
Especially her attitude towards others.
the gringo

Oh no! If DevilDan has a video of
a judge that means no fair trials in El Soto. He will own the judge.
the gringo

Gringo- It's actually brilliant the writers cast a woman so very beautiful to play a character with such an ugly soul. You can see how people/men get drawn in, then BAM!, you get a glimpse or a good look at the ugliness. Poor Luisa has seen Juli's ugly side many times, and especially last night.

I could not believe Juliana actually laughing as she left poor devastated Cris in her bedroom. What a heartless person..no compassion or empathy for anyone else. It will be interesting to see how the writers deal out her share of karma snce up to this point she has not killed anyone. She is just a grasping elitist who feels entitled to the good life and always puts herself at the top of the list. Ack takes after Juliana much more than her own mother who is caring, supportive, and generous to others. What happened ? Did JC and Elenita spoil Ack ?

Yes, Vivi..the old saying is so true.."You cannot judge a book by its cover."

I'm going to be black sheep in here but here goes...

Luisa is ridiculous over an a-hole; then she gets herself pregnant by him. While holding her peggo test she knew this was going to go badly. She doesn't deserve ART (the hott one!) but he will be the stand-up man to take the fatherly figure place to her child because abortions do not happen in novelas.

Cristina is going through the ringer but really, she needs to get it together, or at least seek the help she desperately needs. I feel bad for her but it is time for professional help.

Acacia is the a selfish dumbass and I'm go glad Ulises wont take her back. Honestly, her and Esteban deserve each other and I like the scandal of them getting together (novelas need more scandal!) But cant accept it because HE KILLED HER DADDY!

Ufff! i wish this would all play out the way i want but this is televisa and novelas always "do the right thing" in the end!

Welcome Ness! I don't think you've said anything different than what most of us have said about Luisa's bad choices or Acacia's selfish character, so no reason to feel like a black sheep.

As for how this will end. I will say this, I have never seen a tn from Televisa or any other network have a protagonist have an affair with her mother's husband as Acacia is doing. There is no possible neat little bow happy ending after this, so all bets are off as far as I can see. Acacia has crossed a line that will mark her relationship with her mother and even her grandparents forever.

I'm with Ness and hope this one doesn't follow the normal TN ending with a happy ever after or an anvil. So far you got several that could go either way and I'd love for those options to remain open. Bad guys don't always get their comeuppance nor the good a pot of gold and what of those lukewarm.

Vivi, your outstanding recap has prompted many insightful comments since I "left" yesterday afternoon.

Niecie "She reeked of selfish desperation, not love"

gringo "Manuel is handsome but he is no prince" (Amen).

TF "I would choose Este over Dan any day. With Dan, every woman he has would have to "fulfill her duties" to him. I don't even think Acacia deserves to be put through that"

Susanlynn "She is just a grasping elitist"

tofie "Bad guys don't always get their comeuppance nor the good a pot of gold and what of those lukewarm".

Ness "Honestly, her and Esteban deserve each other and I like the scandal of them getting together (novelas need more scandal!)". I agree and welcome.

We all have such strong feelings and emotions - this storyline has captivated us and pulled us in.

As you noted Vivi "There is no possible neat little bow happy ending after this, so all bets are off as far as I can see".

And while we know that is true, isn't part of the allure that we want the fairy tale ending for those we truly care about - Ale, Cris, Luisa, German, Hector although we likely won't know anything until the bitter end.

65 comments? I know Madelaine is thrilled.

Diana

Diana- I want a happy ending for all the people you mentioned, plus Uli. Acacia will suffer through a he'll of her own making by making the choice to betray her mother.

That's hell, not he'll.

And a happy end for Arturo and Andres too.

To everyone else you mentioned Vivi - yes, they absolutely deserve a happy ending. The ones I mentioned were on my short list as they have tugged on my heartstrings the most.

Diana

I included Hector even though he has not been a victim, either by cruel duress (Ale) or by circumstance (German being his parents son and falling in love with Ale and all that entails).

Hector has helped many for no other reason than kindness. Because of him, Uli has his freedom and his life back, and Arturo and Carmen have their brother and son. German has hope for a career, doing what he loves. Cris has a champion, and someone who appreciates it for the wonderful, strong woman she is, yet she does not realize it.

He possesses extraordinary insight, understanding right away the imbalance of Acacia and Este's chemistry. He offered Acacia support which she spurned in her selfish, beyond cruel decision to engage with her mother's husband.

He has already saved and enhanced the lives of many. I am pinning my hopes for Ale on him. That is a huge task, but I am confident he is up to the challenge.

Diana

Welcome, Ness! Luisa has been a royal fool over Manuel, but she's also been straight with Art that she wanted them to be just friends for now and I hope she sticks with that.

I want Cris to have a happy ending, whether with Hector, a baby, or not.

Since she's only 18-19, I feel sorry for Acacia and her choice: get with the man she (thinks) she loves and turn her back on everyone else in her life.

Acacia seemed more upset about the affect getting with Este would have on her grandparents than on Cris. Este didn't raise Acacia, so I understand her never feeling like he was a father figure or stepdad. Since from age 9 she didn't live with Cris, is it possible she doesn't feel like she's betraying a mother? Cris has wondered in the past if Acacia feels more like Elenita is her mother. Acacia needs to spend more time looking in the mirror and trying to figure out who she is.

Above all, Danilo has got to go down. I haven't been watching Ale suffering and plotting against him all this time to see him ride off free. He must pay.

I wouldn't even betray one of my girlfriends the way Acacia is betraying her mother with her husband. Doesn't matter if she sees Este as a father figure or not, or if she sees Elena more as a mom or not. What she's doing is plain old trifling in any situation.

What she's doing is plain old trifling in any situation.

Nope, Vivi, I wouldn't want her as a friend. It's funny to me that all the things Luisa said about Acacia when she was angry with her (selfish, backstabber, man stealer)seem to be panning out to be true.

I never get worried or jealous when my girlfriends hang out with the guy I'm dating, and they don't worry when I hang out with their husbands or boyfriends. Acacia is the kind of woman you'd have to worry about, because as soon as any little thing goes wrong in her life, she's looking for male affection and comfort. And there are a lot of men who can't resist a damsel in distress. Next thing you know, you have an Elizabeth Taylor-Debbie Reynolds-Eddie Fisher situation on your hands.

Acacia, in real life, would end up in a loveless, abusive marriage like Juli, (or a string of them) no family would want anything to do with her and have only fair weather friends.

Will Acacia ever find real love?
Acacia seems like a train about to run off the tracks into a serious wreck.

Yes I care but as I have said before, I am more concerned with Luisa and Ale. Luisa is sweet, and not a backstabber. I want her to break out of her I'm just a servant mold and find true happiness.

Alejandra deserves a break. Poor lady, all the misery she has had to endure. PLEASE! some happiness
for her.
the gringo

Diana, Vivi, and Gringo

I agree with all of you that there are definitely certain characters that deserve a happy ending like Germán, Ale, Luisa, and Uli. For Cris, right now I just hope she gets past this depression she's in. Maybe if her marriage does completely fall apart and she and Este do really decide to end it once and for all I think it'll be a lesson learned for her. I think she will come out a stronger person. Whether or not she ends up with Hector she will hopefully have learned to love herself.

Cris is clearly depressed and wonder if/when she does come out of it, she questions her logic to end the marriage, because she can't give Esteban a child, so he should be with a woman that can?

Ale, is on a different planet from everyone else, everyone. Her life experience and daily trauma makes all this wringing of hands by others like powder puff football. Not a soul has her back or best interest at heart, yet she functions.

Tofie- Not only does she function, she actually cares about the drama of these other folks and takes the time to talk to them, advise them, and pray for them.

TF, I hope Cris realizes that Este's leaving shows his utter lack of character, if nothing else. And of course, she must learn to love herself first - excellent point.

tofie, "Not a soul has her back or best interest at heart, yet she functions" - yes, how sad. I can only echo Vivi's assertion that she somehow continues to care and pray for others.

As we have discussed, it is maddening that those whom Ale consoles - Luisa and especially Acacia, do not realize she is sending signals something is terribly wrong. I mean wouldn't you question your friend who forsook the love of her life, marrying someone out of the blue? Further, someone who is obviously controlling ads Danilo does not let her out of his sight. Or his grasp. Acacia should wonder why Ale didn't ask her own husband for the charger and why she acted so secretively when Acacia gave it to her.

But of course Ale won't ponder such matters. She is too busy berating her mother for not begging Este to stay. And of course, to give into her feelings toward Este and betraying her mother, grandparents and everyone who loves her.

Acacia has everything in the world she could want, something most, like Ale could never dream of and she is throwing it all away

Diana

Diana

But of course Acacia won't ponder such matters.

Sorry.

Diana

gringo, I don't think Acacia deserves love.

You are a much more forgiving person than I.

Uli loved her and she repaid him by testifying against him and breaking his heart.

She deserves nothing as far as I am concerned. I don't see any redemption let alone a happy ending for her.

Diana

I agree with you Diana. I think what Cris is doing is seeing how Este is giving up so therefore she is giving up.

I think Ale is a strong woman. In part she is obeying Dan in everything that he says because she knows what he's capable of, but she truly has found the family she always wanted. Acacia treats her like a sister and Cris treats her like a daughter so she is very grateful for them. And also she found true love and is making the ultimate sacrifice for love. I think when everybody finds out what's really going they will all tell her that they wouldn't have judged her for her past and that they would've been there for her. They all love and care for her as well so they wouldn't have abandoned her if they knew what was happening. There may have been a way to take down Dan without him hurting anybody.

I enjoyed your insightful comments about Ale. She has had such an unbelievably sad, difficult life, but she manages to stay positive and is truly concerned with her friends' problems which do not compare to her own awful situation. Ack , on the other hand, has a loving family, lots of support, beautiful clothes, and a comfy home , but complains 24/7. Boofreakinhoo.

Does anyone know how many more episodes are left? I am wondering how soon the folks holding clues will start comparing notes,,...Hector, Uli, German , Itzel.

Susanlynn, the way this is going, I'm starting to fear that justice isn't going to be served until the bitter end (thinking of Danilo especially).

Right now, Hector seems to understand more than most of what is transpiring in terms of dark deeds but he hasn't really been exposed to Danilo and isn't yet aware of how terrible he is I don't think Uli is too aware of Danilo either. German loathes him for personal reasons. He had suspicions - especially regarding Perla and her relationship to Dan but he doesn't seem to be following up because he seems to have written off Ale.

I just don't know when there will be a time an place for those in the know to convene, talk and compare notes.

I believe there are approximately 116 episodes, so we are around 2/3 of the way done.

I feel the wild card in all of this and what may turn out to be the key is Rubio. He knows Este and Dan's darkest secrets. He may very well be the one to aid in their downfall. We can only hope!

Diana

Yes Diana you're right about the episode number. At least that's the number for the Mexican broadcast. This episode was Mexico episode 84.

Diana, I'm wondering if the fact that Rubio knows all these secrets that it will turn out to be HIS downfall as well. He's basically an ally to Este and Dan but who is his ally? Who is watching out for him?

If Uli personally went to Manuel to inform him about the lot for his business then he may do the same with Perla and may interact with Dan. And then he will see that Ale is there as well. Maybe he could help Ale.

Diana---The gringo is forgiving? In many cases I am not, I support the death penalty. Like Luisa's big mistake with worthless Manuel,
Acacia has been spoiled her entire life. She is making mistakes, big mistakes but I still
have hope, just a little hope that Acacia will mature and learn from her mistakes. Uli's imprisonment and near death hopefully will go a long way in turning her to life's reality. If she can just keep her distance from stalker Este. Maybe the bruja
Juliana will wake her up. Didn't Julie catch her in Este's hotel room?
the gringo

TF, ITA! Rubio is in grave danger from both Este and Danilo. However, as he is the only one who knows Este killed Alonso, and as that secret is vital to the overall story, I think he will talk before this is over. I can't foresee how it will come out, just that I think it will. I can't see Este confessing under any circumstances...Rubio does know too much so I don't think things will end well for him.

gringo, I respect the fact you hold out hope for Acacia. I do not. For me, it's not only that she kissed Este, but she took his side over her mother's and refused to see how deeply Cris is hurting. She has let her infatuation/lust/love (all 3?) impair her judgement. She has betrayed her mother - one of the most sacred bonds and relationships there is.

And while Este may have been the stalker initially, Acacia has been the one pursuing him despite his earlier protestations to leave him alone. She initiated the kissing and worse, she is the one who just showed up at his hotel room.

We will have to see how Juli interprets seeing Este and Acacaia and whether or not they will be able to come up with some plausible lie...

Diana

Diana, one can only hope that Rubio will talk. It is possible that he could crack eventually. I highly doubt he would go to the police with this information though. It'd probably be better if someone else like Hector did that is if something happened to lead him to coax it out of Rubio. He is a lawyer after all.

Diana---I get what you are saying.
Yes Acacia has betrayed her mother
and Ulises also. I have been holding out hope for her because she isn't intentionally a bad person. Yes she is lusting for her mother's husband although I don't know why,or whatever she sees in Esteban. I was just thinking that she isn't out dealing drugs, robbing people or out murdering anyone. She came close to getting Ulises killed but she wasn't aware that was going to happen. You know what I am trying to say. I'm just hoping that a bolt of lightning will hit her one day and she will wake up and be sorry for all that she has done, make amends and turn her life around. Diana, don't get me wrong. I don't condone what she has done to her mother, I just hope that she will see the light although at this point I am not holding my breath.

More tomorrow.
the gringo

Test, why have my comments being deleted?

Gringo, I get what you're saying but just think for one moment. You are married a second time to a hot wife after your beloved first dies in an unfortunate accident. For some reason unknown to you, first she, then your teenage son begin to act differently, almost insensitive, toward you.
You later discover your son and your wife, you adore, have been going at each other right under your nose.

TF, I've been giving this secret some thought. When it comes down to it, it is Este's word against Rubio's. There is no proof! It was verbal confession. Yes, Rubio would need to be cunning in how he reveals Este's secret. Whereas before, Este was regarded as a model citizen and beyond reproach, his reputation has (and I suspect will) tarnished.

That said, I'm wondering if I was wrong, maybe something will push Este off the emotional cliff (so to speak) and he will end up revealing it himself (?!). I still think this is a crucial piece to the puzzle, but just not sure how this is all going to come to light.

Diana

gringo, I absolutely see your point!

Acacia is certainly no Danilo! :)

I have to admit that my personal history has affected my judgement and opinion on this as my father left my mother when she was pregnant with my youngest brother to marry someone else. So, the fact that Acacia has coveted and given in to her feelings with her own mother's husband (let alone anyone else's husband), was the ultimate betrayal in my book.

Of course we are in total agreement in that "I don't know why,or whatever she sees in Esteban". Neither do I gringo, neither do I! :)

Diana

Hi Novella lover.

We were wondering what happened to you!

Hope whatever is keeping your comments from "sticking" is fixed. So much has been going on!

Diana

Unlike self absorbed Este who is lost in his lust, Hector is very observant . He really gave Damnilo the stink eye when he saw him in the hospital , and you could tell that Hector did not like Damn Dan. Hector usually seems to trust his intuitions about people. Since Hector has formed connections between both German and Uli, I am sure that these three good guys will eventually figure out what evil lies in the hearts of Damnilo and Esteevil.

DIana...So sorry to hear about your dad. We all have our stories. I think your background is why you were able to sympathize with my daughter's situation. Sometimes the difficult situations in our lives shape us and make us stronger. You turned out to be a kind and caring oerson. Luckily, my daughter is doing better , and the grand girls are grand and happy little girls.

If Este had kept his low profile that he had all these years after killing Alonso, he could still continue his comfortable life. I still think that this lust for his stepdaughter started with a midlife crisis.

Let's make it #100.

I am nervous about those things taped to the back of the nightstand. If Damn Dan finds them, Ale is in big trouble. Hector would be the guy to give them to, but Ale has not really connected to him due to Damnilo's tight control. Who could she give them , too?....Luisa ? ..Ack? Please do not give them to Ack. She is lost in a fog of lust and selfcenteredness.

Acacia has been a good (though clueless) friend to Ale and Luisa, so I still have hope that she will help her mother, instead of getting with Esteban.

Diana, having a loving daughter like you must’ve given your mother comfort and spurred her to sigue adelante.

Novella lover, I hope you can get through soon.

Novella lover- Sounds like you are having the same issues Susanlynn has been having. Unfortunately, I did not select to receive the comments on this post, so I did not see your vanished comment. Try again and see what happens.

For me, Acacia's betrayal of her own mother is so unforgivable, I don't know what I want to see happen to her at the end. She is certainly not evil so I don't want to see her physically hurt. She hasn't committed a crime, so she doesn't merit being locked up. She is capable of love and kindness, and so I want her to be an even better person. But do I want Cris to forgive her for the betrayal? Only if it gives Cris peace, but certainly not because Acacia deserves it. She deserves to carry the guilt and shame of having betrayed her mother with her father's killer for the rest of her life. And I don't want her crying, whining and getting comfort in anyone's arms about it. I want her to carry this shame and guilt on her own, and take full responsibility/ownership for it.

Diana,

I wouldn't be surprised if Este reveals his own secret and he reveals it in a bragging tone like "yeah I killed Alonso, so what?" I am wondering if he's proud of himself for doing so.

WOW!!! WHAT A MESS!!! A freight train speeding out of control. I love almost all of the novelas but I can't remember one that has caught me like this one has. What a story.

Acacia spinning out of control.

Cristina hurt, maybe beyond repair
although I hope not.

Alejandra toying with the devil.
OMG the videos. They need to be hidden better than that. DevilDan is bound to get curious as to why Ale was moving the nightstand. taping them underneath would be better.

Rubio the mystery guy with a machete.

Raging bull Norberto and desperate
Juliana---what could possibly happen next?

Sorry to hear your story Diana. At least it is now in the past although I know that pain lingers.

Tofie---I get it. All I can say is what a mess. If I were a writer, I could never come up with something like this but I am aware that in real life-----

It's been a long weekend. I will be GLUED to the tv tonight. LM is must see tv.

One last thing. Diana---I do not want Acacia to end up with Ulises, she doesn't deserve him. I am in the Itzel camp big time but----the intro each night show us a Acacia/Uli together pose. What's with that?

Novela lover...My disappearing comments were due to an update to my IPad that had some bugs. Subsequent updates seem to have cleared up the problem , and my comments no longer vanish. I know how frustrating it is to write a comment and then have it disappear,

What is going on with the cyber ghost stealing the comments? Susanlynn, myself and now Novella lover's? I don't remember this happening before.

Cris is a strong woman. She just needs some time to process the loss of her baby. Since Este gave Hector "permission" to see Cris (what a dolt..like he is in charge of who can visit Cris now that he has walked out the door again)... I think Hector will visit and build up Cris's self confidence. When bad things happen , sometimes an old friend who knew you before all the bad events can remind you who you are,

Thanks for your kind words Susanlynn, Niecie and gringo.

As you noted Susanlynn, Cris needs Hector. In truth, other than her marvelous supportive parents who does she actually have?

Her daughter? Nope. Husband? Nope. Friends - Juli? Nope. I will count the steadfast Rosa, Luisa and Ale but Hector knows her and will hopefully talk her into the counseling she so desperately needs.

I wonder what will happen tonight?? One thing is for certain, we never know do we??

Diana

DIana..Well, I do not think that Este and Ack will do the deed tonight. We know that Juliana will catch them both in the hallway of the hotel. Then, Juliana will try to figure out what is going on between them and how she can use this information for her own benefit. After seeing her laughing after she left distraught Cris, we know that she is a fair weather friend who has no concern for Cris.. I am hoping that Hector does not fall for her charms for even a short time. I think that he is too smart and discerning to be fooled by her flirting and her scaves.

Other than Juli for Juli she is for Manuel hooking up with Acacia and the last thing she, Norberto & Manuel want is Acacia in the sack with another man. Hard enough getting rid of Uli.

On it's face, Acacia leaving Esteban's room should not be a red flag to anyone. So what, it's stepdaddy and stepdaughter, both trying to deal with a distraught Cris.

I wonder what Juli is doing at the hotel, unless it's to gather her things or to take another swing at Hector.
