La Malquerida, capitulo 74. 12/05/14.

Skipping the old...

Acacia goes to the chapel to pay Esteban a visit. He says he prayed to God that if he saved his child, he will forget all about her.

German pushes off Ale. He will not allow her to draw him in again. It is her problem if she still wants him. He is with Lizi and will respect their relationship. He walks off just as Danilo walks up. He wants to go the visitors room to greet everyone. I assume you want to go see German he asks.

Juliana tries to visit Cris but she tells her they will talk another day. Juliana insists but JC tries shooing her out. Juliana as usual doesn't listen and tries again. This time Elenita escorts her out of the room and closes the door. She can't believe Juliana's gumption. JC tells Cris that Hector is still waiting outside for her. Cris asks him to tell Hector she appreciates his help today. She wouldn't have known what to do.

Hector and Acacia are in the waiting room. She appreciates everything he has done for her mother. He would give anything so that Cris and her baby are okay. He wonders if Cris and Esteban got back together because of the baby. I don't think so replies Acacia but Hector doesn't buy it. Acacia admits she told Esteban so that he would react and return to her mother. I don’t want my mother to know. Hector thinks it speaks well of Esteban wanting to be with his baby's mama but hopes that he really returned because he loves Cris. I would have given anything to have had a child with your mother. Acacia feels bad that he had to find out this way. He admits it hurts a little but wants Cris to be happy. He understands now that her happiness is with Esteban, Acacia and the baby. She believes, in seeing Esteban so affected by what's going on, that he really loves her mother.

Manuel is waiting in the hallway hospital when Norberto walks up. He inquires on Manuel's hand. Manuel is not happy and complains it hurts. All because Ulises and his brother grabbed him when he confronted them about the fraud. Norberto warns him to be more careful in the future. Anything new going on with Cris? Nothing to report replies Manuel. Norberto, the caring neighbor and friend that he is, thinks it's best if the baby died. For their sakes.

Danilo enters the waiting room with Ale bearing gifts. He was so thoughtful, he brought food while they waited on news of her mother. Hector eyes Danilo with the stink eye which of course Danilo doesn't notice. Danilo says he's there for whatever they need. Hector doesn't say much. Actually nothing at all. Acacia thanks Danilo for his support but there is nothing they can do now. If they prefer to go home to rest....but Ale interrupts and offers to stay the night with her. Danilo offers to stay too but wants to return home to change into more comfortable clothing. He promises to return. Acacia insists Ale doesn't have to stay but Ale wont hear of it. Acacia accepts her company and Danilo promises to return later. They leave and Hector watches them. He tells Acacia to call him if she needs anything, turns to leave and comes face to face with Esteban. Esteban thanks Hector for his help with Cris. Hector is glad to offer his assistance and if there is anything they need to call. Esteban goes to leave and stops to stare at Acacia. Hector drinks this all in while shaking his head.

Manuel can't believe his father is thinking this way. We are talking about an innocent child. Norberto tries to explain his reasoning. Life has taught me not to be weak. I don't want to share the Beneviente or it's earnings with anyone. Manuel points out that the hacienda is not his and never will be. He changes the subject and says Acacia is upset with him but he doens't know why. Norberto tells him to find out. She needs support right now and it must come from him. Especially if that baby dies. Manuel says Esteban blames his mother for the accident. Would you like her to be blamed for all this? The best thing is for that child to be saved. She's waiting in the cafeteria since Cris doesn't want to see her. Norberto admits to seeing Juliana this morning but no matter how much he tries, she doesn't want to return to him.

Luisa is on the phone with Acacia. She and her grandmother are praying for Cris. She hopes she doesn't get upset, but spoke with Arturo today and told him about everything going on with Cris and he told Ulises. Acacia doesn't think Ulises will care about anything going on with her anymore. Luisa tells her not to think that way. They hang up and Luisa tells Rosa that Cris isn't any better. Rosa is not happy with the news on Cris. Luisa reminds her that they need have faith. That is what Rosa has always taught her. Rosa agrees and changes the subject. She wants to know what Arturo meant when he said that he and Luisa will be friends for now. Luisa thinks he said it to just say it. Although it's nice for someone to care about you. That is all Rosa wants for her. Rubio overhears this conversation and says he offered her the exact same thing, but she doesn't want it. Rosa doens't want to hear it and tells him to sit and eat his dinner so he can pick up the grandparents. Rubio can't wait to hear what Esteban has to say when he hears that Arturo was at the hacienda. Luisa tells him not to bother her. Arturo is her friend and she has permission from Cris that he can come and visit anytime. Rubio points out that the patron is back now and things will change.

Manuel asks Acacia why she is so upset with him. What happened is between our mothers. Acacia says she's upset over what he did to Luisa. He disrespected her in front of everyone and that is not what a man does. He doesn't think it's a big deal. He was upset over what Ulises and his brother did when he went to confront Ulises about the stolen money. That is what you get for confronting someone who did nothing to you replies Acacia. It was all Nuria. Are you going to defend him again asks Manuel. Of course replies Acacia. His innocence has already been proven. You shouldn't have gone over to Ulises or disrespected Luisa. She has been your friend since childhood. He says it didn't happen that way but Acacia doesn't believe him. Luisa has no reason to lie to me. While you keep acting this way, I don’t' want to be around you.

Ulises looks at old pictures of Acacia and Arturo runs in. Everything went well with him and Luisa today. Ulises is glad to hear it and asks if there is anything new with Cris. She's still the same replies Arturo. He wonders what Ulises is doing. Ulises is putting everything in a box that Acacia gave him so he can get rid of it but realizes he just can't. Every time if think of her, I feel awful. Especially now with the news on her mother. I want to run to her and console her, but at the same time.....Arturo tells him to do just that. Go to her. You don't want to regret not being with her during this difficult time.

Manuel says Acacia cant do this to him. He realizes he was wrong and feels horrible about it. Acacia doesn't want to hear it. She feels let down and believed him to always be a gentlemen. Manuel wanted to ask her to help him talk to Luisa. She doesn't want anything to do with him now. I need her to forgive me. Acacia declines to offer her assistance since she agrees with Luisa. He decides to figure it out on his own but begs her to understand about the store/location. I am losing my future. I don’t' want to work with my dad anymore. I am tired of all the problems he has with my mother. She points out that he shouldn't be angry with Ulises after it's been proven he's innocent. He understands but says he's out of the money and the store his parents got for him. He will no longer bother Ulises after what he did to his arm. He tries another way to get Acacia to soften towards him. He says the doctor told him to take care of his hand or all the therapy will go to waste. Juliana comes up looking for Manuel. She doesn't want to stay at the cafeteria by herself anymore. There is no reason for her to stay since Cris doesn’t want to see her. With reason replies Acacia. Juliana swears what happen to Cris is an accident. Unfortunately this all happened after fighting with you replies Acacia. She leaves.

Danilo and Ale return home. He tells both Perla and Julianita that his wife is so good. She begged him not punish them for letting her escape. But if this happens again, you will see what will happen. He leaves to greet his guests. Ale says it didn’t go as bad as she thought it would. Perla is not in agreement. She doesn’t need Ale's help to get out of a jam. Ale asks her if she's not tired of always fighting with her. Perla just blows smoke in Ale's face. Julianita says Ale is right.

Arturo is happy that his mother finally made up with Andres. Carmen says she's happy but is worried about her relationship with German. Arturo doens't think there will be any problems. Carmen thinks with German living at the hacienda, it would bring problems to Ulises. Ulises overhears this conversation. Arturo tells her to let Ulises make his own decisions. Acacia is the woman that he loves. Carmen doesn't want Ulises to suffer anymore. Acacia did not believe in him and even testified against him. What type of relationship could they have with both families fighting? I will never forgive her for what she did.

Ale believes she is gaining Danilo's confidence. He comes in and she says she's about to change into pants so they can return to the hospital. Danilo hates to break it to her but they are not returning. He told Esteban already when she insists on calling and telling Acacia. Ale points out that he asked her to try and work at this relationship but it doesn't seem like it. He wants her to prove to him first that she really wants to make their relationship work. I gave you your place in front of the family and Perla, did I not? You know you were wrong in leaving. Ale admits defeat and asks what he wants now. Nothing, replies Danilo. It's getting late and I have to return to the church. Why asks Ale. To talk to the padre and confess replies Danilo.

German is on the phone with Andres. He asks him to call with any updates on Cris and congratulates him on the good news. He hangs up and Juliana rushes to his side and wants to know what good news there is. Before he can share, Esteban comes in. Juliana inquires about Cris. Nothing we can do now but wait replies Esteban. Juliana says if there isn't anything she can do, she will retire for the night. But not in this house says Esteban. After what happened today, you can't stay here. Juliana says it was an accident. Manuel thinks he's overreacting. No, especially after finding out what Juliana is capable of says Esteban. Do your kids know that the bruises that supposedly Norberto did to you, you actually inflicted on yourself? Is that true asks German. Manuel doesn't believe it and saw when his father was hitting his mother. Of course you did but didn't see her after inflicting those bruises replies Esteban. He asks Juliana to try and deny it. He hopes the boys understand but Juliana has to leave. Juliana tells the boys she did it because she was desperate. Perhaps your father did not leave me in the state you saw me in, but he did slap me. It isn't the first time. You have been witnesses to the others. Either way, you were going to put him in jail yells Manuel. And he didn't do anything. Juliana admits she wasn't going to put him in jail, just wanted to get a divorce. German says she did it so that Andres would feel sorry for her, but it didn't work. He is back with Carmen.

Cris learns from Acacia that Esteban was in the chapel praying. He has never done that before. Just goes to show you how much he loves you and the baby replies Acacia. It shows how much our love is bigger then what I thought it was says Cris.

The boys can't believe what Juliana did. She tries to get them to understand her. My life next to Norberto has been pure hell! German doesn't want to hear it. He tells her to pack her bags and he will take her to a hotel. He is ashamed for what she did. She turns to Manuel but he doesn't want to hear it. Good-bye mother. She falls to the ground in self-pity.

Perla joins Danilo for a walk. She is happy he invited her out. Is he not worried that Ale's family will see them together? No, they are in the hospital replies Danilo. I invited you so that you know I always listen to you. I know I can't trust Ale. That is why we are here. He doesn't want the priest to be a thorn in his side. Perla realizes what they are there for.

Ulises shows up at the hospital and he and Acacia start smooching.

Perla tries to stop Danilo. She thinks everything is going well. If Ale finds out what he did, how do you think she will react?

Ulises pushes Acacia off him. She thought he forgave her but he says he hasn't. I found out what happened to your mother and I feel awful for her. I hope that you and your brother will be okay. I have no desire to return to you. Acacia says she has explained how she regrets what she did. Perhaps I will forgive you one day but that doens't mean we will get back together replies Ulises. Acacia wants to explain what she was thinking when she did all this. Ulises says he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her but I know now that will never happen. Now you need to get use to that idea as well. I just want you to know that I hope your mother gets well. He leaves and she cries.

Danilo and Perla are sitting in the pews when the priest comes in. Danilo asks if that is the priest she saw Ale with. Perla confirms this and he tells her to leave. He doesn’t want her to be there. She walks out and he walks up to the priest. He starts to pull something out of his pocket as the priest turns around. It was just some medicine for his throat. Danilo wants to confess but the priest points out it's a little late. Danilo says he can't live with his sins anymore.

Ulises runs into Andres. He is there to take the measurements for his new office. He finds out that the baby is still in danger. Andres asks if he wants to see Acacia. Ulises just saw her and seeing her again awakens everything I felt for her. Then I remember how much I suffered because of her. Andres thinks perhaps with time.

Before Danilo confesses he wants to make sure that it will be kept in secret. Of course replies the priest. That is the sacrament of confession. Danilo admits that he has opened up a brothel. There are many sins committed. I brought a girl to work there. Her name is Alejandra Silva. Are you the one that has made that girl suffer so much asks the priest. Yes, replies Danilo. I have now made her my wife. Please give me your forgiveness.

Juliana begs German not to treat her this way. Let her explain what happened. German doesn't want to hear it. Her life is full of lies. She separated him from his father and he was raised by a man that couldn't fully accept him. Now all this. I tries to save myself from Norberto replies Juliana. This was the only way to put a stop to all his bad treatment. There was other ways more dignified and legal points out German. But you didn’t care what would happen to him. All for a marriage that you sought out. He understands more than anyone what she went through. But if you keep acting this way, you will end up alone.

The priest points out he is not the one that forgives but God. You must be ready to repent. Danilo says he wants to repent for all that but not for killing him if he opens his mouth. You have to choose to change parishes or being killed here.

Manuel comes to the hospital to see Acacia. She doesn't want to see him. He knows why Acacia is upset with his mother. He found out she inflicted those bruises on herself. As soon as I found out, I came to talk to you. You have no idea how badly I feel that my mother would behave this way. You at everything that has happened because of what she did replies Acacia. What kind of mother do I have asks Manuel. They hug.

Ulises walks out of Andres office and sees Acacia and Manuel hugging. Andres feels bad for Ulises. Ulises says Manuel told him that he was getting closer to Acacia. I didn't want to believe him. Now I see it is true.

Carmen is thanking Andres for inviting her for breakfast and Juliana sees them. They kiss and Juliana runs up to them. She says German told her they fixed their problems and are back together. I should probably congratulate you. Andres asks her not to bother them. Carmen tells Andres not to worry about it. What this lady does, I don't care. I will not sink to her level. Juliana takes offense but Carmen says she's only saying the truth. I will not risk my relationship with Andres over you. They leave and Juliana points out to Carmen that since she and Andres share a son, they will be seeing each other. Andres doubts it. His son is very upset over what she did. You have no shame.

Norberto is at the breakfast table when Manuel walks up. He says Norberto was in bed when he arrived late last night. Of course I was replies Norberto. I have to get up at 5 in the morning to take care of the finca then report to the association. I don't have any help from you. I just wanted to tell you that we found out my mother lied about all those bruises. I am very upset with her. German walks up and says he can't believe his mother would do such a thing. I understand that my mother has been unhappy but what she did was wrong. But what you did was wrong also. There was no reason for you to slap her. Don’t' try to explain yourself. There is no reason at all for hitting a woman. I only came to tell you that I don't agree what my mother did to you. Norberto hopes that one day they can get along. I talked to Andres and he wishes for the same. He came and told me he dropped charges against me because of you boys. Perhaps we can all one day see each other as family replies German.

Cris feels a sudden pain and tells her baby to calm down. Everything will be okay.

Ale visits Acacia at the hospital along with Danilo. Acacia tells Esteban that she will be having breakfast in the cafeteria. Her mother did well last night and had less pain. Esteban will go see Cris but Danilo wants to finish talking business. Ale and Acacia leave. They start talking business and the doctor comes up to tell Esteban he will check on Cris. Esteban and Danilo keep talking business.

At the courthouse, Juliana and Norberto keep fighting. She wants not only alimony but a part of the finca as well. Norberto says she has never worked a day at the finca and doesn't deserve any of it. Because you never let me yells Juliana. I wasn't allowed to leave the house because you would get mad. Why is that shouts Norberto. Because I have spent all these years taking care of the house so that you would be comfortable yells Juliana. Did you forget that I took care of the boys as well? That is why I have no money or know how to work. I was always taking care of you all. Norberto says he will give her alimony but Juliana says what he offers is not enough. What about Manuel? He needs a lot of money for his therapies. Who do you think will get that therapy for him? I will! Norberto yells back that he will give Manuel the money. They keep yelling and the judge tries to make them stop.

Ale and Acacia come back with coffee for everyone. Danilo tells Acacia he found out she did not get back with Ulises and thinks it's a great idea. That guy not only didn't give us our money back but we don’t' have our store. You don’t' want to be with someone like that. Acacia points out that he is innocent. The one that is guilty is Nuria and she's dead. Danilo didn't think that she would defend him. Are you going to get back with him? No, that is finished forever replies Acacia.

Esteban asks Cris if she is really feeling better. She looks pale. Cris says she was feeling okay this morning but the pain has come back again. She suddenly shouts out and withers in pain. He calls for the nurse. He gets frustrated and is about to leave the room when Cris pulls him back. She's bleeding and doesn't want to be left alone.

Juliana and Norberto keep fighting. The judge says they have to come to an agreement or this divorce could last for years. Norberto doesn't have a problem with that. Juliana gets mad. Norberto wonders what she will do until the divorce is finalized. You no longer live with Cris, you have no money and I doubt that your boys will help you after finding out the truth. Norberto tells the judge to let him know when he wants another hearing and leaves with his attorney.

The doctor finally comes in and tells Esteban to leave when Cris says she's bleeding heavily.

Ulises asks German to help him find the house that he was held in. it can't be far from El Soto. Are you wanting to prove to Acacia that you never fled with Nuria asks German. Yes, replies Ulises. But more importantly, I want justice.

Everyone is waiting in the visitors room for news of Cris. Manuel comes up and Luisa tries walking away. Manuel stops her and understands what he did was wrong. In front of Acacia, I want to apologize. Do you really feel bad or is it because you don’t' want Acacia to think badly of you asks Luisa. She leaves and Acacia doesn't want to talk about their problems right now. She is hurting thinking of what her mother is going through. The doctor comes in and says it's not good that Cris is bleeding again. They have given her medication and hope to stop it. Esteban hauls the doctor by the collar and tells him that he has to save his son. He has no idea what he is capable of. JC tells Esteban to release the doctor. Esteban apologizes. Acacia leaves the room. Manuel follows and says everything will turn out alright.

Hector and Katia are discussing business when Juliana spots them. They finish talking business and Juliana walks up. She thanks him for helping German in everything. She was just about to eat. Would he like to join her? She would like to talk about German and his paintings.

The doctor comes in and says Cris lost the baby.

Lunes: Cris goes into surgery.

Gloria- Seeing this recap brightened this dreary and sad morning tremendously. I had just gotten the news about Mads from her husband partway through the show last night, and was not able to concentrate on everything that was happening. So thank you for providing such a beautifully written and detailed recap. I will be back later to comment on the episode.

Gloria, your summary was sensational. You relayed all of the events and actions with depth and heart. You perfectly captured the gamut of emotions ranging from hope to despair to agony exceptionally well.

Did we all know it would end this way? Perhaps but our hearts go out to Cris for her searingly painful loss. I hope the love of Juan Carlos and Elena sustains her. I will include Acacia because Cris needs her. And what will Esteban do? Will this be the catalyst to make him seek out Acacia? Again?

I feel Ale is a lamb waiting to be slaughtered. She has no idea Danilo has her diary and he and the I see no redemption for Perla have gone on a murderous quest. I am frightened for her now more than ever.

I do think Uli deserves more and am still hoping Itzel can be found. I have high hopes for Arturo and Luisa but perhaps it's best she is being cautious. Love doesn't always arrive on time. It may dawn a bit later for her.

"Norberto, the caring neighbor and friend that he is, thinks it's best if the baby died. For their sakes". Despite Juliana's manipulative machinations, let us not forget who is the villain here. Juliana is merely an apprentice.

"Esteban goes to leave and stops to stare at Acacia. Hector drinks this all in while shaking his head. Hector's vision is not impaired in the least.

"Do you really feel bad or is it because you don’t' want Acacia to think badly of you asks Luisa". Painful but stated with clarity and truth. A heartbreaking admission.

I have some comments about Juliana's situation but will post that separately.

I love Hector.

Gloria, fantastic. Thank you..

Diana

I had gone here first thing this morning and saw your note Vivi after I posted my comment.

I posted under your heading Vivi and am beyond sad but do want to say Madelaine was a bright light who possessed an unquenchable spirit.

I've been thinking the past few days how wonderful the number of comments here were and how happy Madelaine would be when she returned! For some that were not here at the beginning, Madelaine started recapping this by herself - she felt passionately about this story and she is the one who inspired me to watch.

I would like to thank Gloria and Vivi for jumping in to help and for keeping Madelaine's love for this alive.

I'm in tears now and I have some prayers to say.

Diana

All- I've added Mads' obituary, with funeral info, to the post on her passing.

Back later when I can get my thoughts together. But thank you, Diana, for so perfectly expressing how contagious Mads' enthusiasm for this show was and how dedicated she was to bringing us fabulous and entertaining recaps each day.

Thanks, Gloria. There was so much dialogue last night that I couldn't keep up. I'll be back with my 2 cents later.

If it weren't for Madelaine I wouldn't be watching LM now. She was always so upbeat and enthusiastic that even when the show hit its most horrible, the rape of 13-year-old Ale, I continued reading Madelaine's recaps even though I wasn't watching. When Madelaine wrote the hallelujah! news that grown Ale had escaped, I came back.

Niecie- You left and came back to this show exactly when I did, and exactly for the same reason- Mads.

As for our intense show. Well, it was VERY sweet to see Juliana striking out on all fronts after her successful run last week. I laughed every time she hit a brick wall. Getting kicked out by Este, having her sons call her out, getting dissed by Carmen and Andres, and not getting the quick and lucrative divorce she planned. And I don't for a minute believe that Hector will be taken in by her charms, so she's barking up the wrong tree there.

Can Norberto be next up? Can't wait to see him get his comeuppance, especially after wishing Cris' baby dead.

Do we think Padre Rocky took the deal? Change to another parish or die. I hope he goes straight to the police and tells them and gets put into protective custody. I guess we'll have to see. Perla definitely seemed nervous about being involved in the death of a priest.

Interesting that the writers had two characters who are not religious and have broken both God's and man's laws (Este and Dan), setting foot into a place of worship and twisting religion to suit their own purposes and desires.

Poor Cris. This is just the first a major blows coming her way. Losing her baby. And then eventually finding out her husband murdered her first husband, and that he and her daughter are hot for each other. She will need all her strength to deal with what is happening and what is to come.

Hector was observing everyone and I'm sure his feverish mind was spinning with what he saw-- Ale and Dan, Acacia and Este.

Thanks so much , Gloria, for that excellent , detailed recap. Yes, Mads was convinced that this Novela would be a good one , and she was right. I like to think that somewhere Mads is still following the take along with the rest of us.

I have had a lot of sad news this week. My best friend is helping to care for her sister-in-law with breast cancer whose implants have had to be removed. Another friend leaves tomorrow to fly to Arizona for a last visit with her younger brother who is in the last stage of cancer. And now, dear Mads.

Vivi...I always love to read your smart and perceptive take on the happenings. I would not have noticed the fact that Godless Este and Damned both entered a church or chapel . Interesting and thoughtprovoking. People would never believe the conversations that these telenovelas lead us into n
well, I have Christmas gifts to wrap and chores to do on this cold, rainy, gray day. Later.

I'd like to ask that everyone who reads this today posts a comment.

Whether you have watched one episode or been here for every single one, and have been watching in silence, please, let us know you are there.

You need say only what you wish, but it would be wonderful to see as many comments as possible. It would make Madelaine so happy!

Diana

Diana- I LOVE that request! A La Malquerida send off for Mads. She always loved a good discussion and took the time to reply to every commenter. She was a gem!

Vivi, The Padre will do and say nothing because he is bound by the seal of the confessional. As loathsome tas he fact Danilo did not mean a word of his repentece is, it is sadly irrelevant here.

I don't think the Padre will leave. However, the priest is aware of Ale's history. She told him. While I don't think the priest values his own physical safety, I am wondering if he can/will warn Ale. She has no idea what even further grave danger she is in.

He should go to the police but am wondering if by strict interpreation, the threat can be construed to be part of the confession. I want him to run to the police but...As a Catholic, I have always had difficulty accepting the decisions of priests who keep silent after hearing terrible secrets.

I agree with the Padre that it is up to God to forgive and to judge. But as instruments of God, it is up to those in His service that mercy prevail - if they know of cruelty, murder or other violations, they must speak up.

Diana

Susanlynn, sending hugs and good thoughts to you today. And always.

Diana

Vivi, I mentioned the other day that I am done with Perla and I feel more strongly now than ever.

There was absolutely no reason for her to squeal on Luisa other than pure jealousy and spite.

Ale has tried to help her and cover for her.

And to be honest? Yes, Perla did seem nervous but not horrified that a priest is on the verge of being murdered. I keep telling myself she is damaged beyond repair, yet I keep looking for that small fizzure in her psyche to let us know that some kindness still exists.

Diana

squeal on Ale. Sigh.

Diana

Yes Vivi, Madelaine responded to everyone. And she did so with not only kindess, but genuine interest in what everyone had to say. She took the time to carefully reply and every time she did, you felt appreciated and valued.

We have several days - I am hoping for a huge number of comments. So please chime in all -and often.

Diana

Diana- The Padre didn't seem like he felt Dan was sincere at all, so I don't see him feeling beholden to the seal of the confessional. What Dan made was NOT a confession. It was a threat, pure and simple. We'll have to wait to see what the Padre decides to do. He should at least be doing something, if even anonymously, to ensure that Ale is safe. He can't just walk away knowing she is in the hands of that devil and is in danger. If he does, then he goes way down in my estimation to when he first met Ale and handled the situation so badly.

I am speechless at the news. May her soul rest in peace forever. I just sent her a card. Madelaine was a sensitive, optimistic soul. She always saw the positive side of a character. I am truly sadden by this news. About the show since Estecreep's prayer has not been answered it is open season on Acacia.
Romy

Gloria, thanks so much

I felt a bit sorry for Esteban when he prayed for both Cris & the unborn child and believed him sincere. Also, believe had the baby lived he would have stayed away from Acacia but all bets are off now.

I don't care if Norberto applied the beating or not, it is just splitting hairs because he has used his hand to shut her up their whole marriage. I don't get why everyone but German are in such an uproar over Juliana self harming to get away from the beast once and for all.

It is none of Hectors business asking Acacia about her mothers relationship with Esteban. None

Tofie- I was also struck by how no one but German made a point of calling Norberto out on slapping Juliana-- even if it was "just one" slap. It reminded me of how disappointed I was in Manuel for not calling Norberto out when he actually saw the slap.

But I think that Juli and Norb are equally despicable. She's getting her comeuppance today, but hopefully his isn't far behind.

Thanks for the recap! I'm a little late had a busy day today.

This episode seemed to be centered on Juliana's lies being discovered. She doesn't deserve anything from Norbie so hopefully she gets the minimum if they ever do get a divorce. Germán and Manuel were so ashamed and embarrassed by their mother. I felt a little sorry for Norbie when Germán confronted him about slapping Juliana. Norbie is obviously trying to get back on Germán's good side.

I was scared when Dan told Ale he was going to "terminar" with the priest and then continues to say that he needs to finish his confession. I laughed when Dan told Perla to leave the church because she's a "pecadora". If Perla is a sinner then what is he? I'm amused at how he thinks he's a better person than her.

Poor Cris. What is Esteloco going to do now?

I hope that someone puts those baby things that Este bought out of sight before Cris gets home from the hospital. I had a feeling that the writers were not going to let that baby survive. And now, Este will go to Ack for consolation. Blecchh

TF- Norb does seem to really want to get on German's good side. I do believe a big part of that is because he loves him. But I feel like part of it is wanting German to come back to do the hacienda and Association work that's going down the drain since German left.

Susanlynn- Gosh. I really hope they get rid of all that baby stuff. Yikes!

It's hard to write thinking about Madelaine. It was mentioned that Mads started La Malquerida all alone. I remember that and she hung in like a trooper until help arrived. Damn I miss her. Madelaine made everyone feel like she cared for them, I know that she made me feel that way. When a question was asked, Mads was most always one of the first to reply,
not only with this novela but on others as well---Madelaine was SUPER in every way. Not only was Madelaine kind and helpful she at times made it known that there are rules on the Caray blog and those rules needed to be followed.
Mads was never mean but strict although in a loving way. How could not like her? RIP? Well maybe not, you might be busy helping out where ever help is needed.

I didn't know which way it would go but Friday we learned that the baby didn't make it. Cris will be devastated but I suppose that Norberto will be jumping for joy. Acacia will still be the only heir of Rancho Benavente.

Norbie will be putting the pressure on Manuel to move on Acacia and I suspect that after a short time EsteBonkers will be doing the same--making a move. Ulises may soon be back in the mix. I guess that Acacia will be thinking that it's hard being a bikini goddess.

You're right Vivi. Obviously Germán did all that before he found out that Norbie wasn't his father but as he has been saying it SHOULD be now Manuel's responsibility to help Norbie run everything. Maybe Germán could at least return to the hacienda but technically he's working for/with Hector now doing what he really wants to do. It seems as though Norbie still wants Germán to be like him rather than like Andres because obviously that's the reason why Norbie hated that Germán likes to paint. Andres fully supports Germán because that was his passion as well. And obviously Andres supported Germán even before they both found out the truth.

Diana,

I am responding to your wonderful request to write something for Mads. Like gringo, it is very hard to write anything as just having read the news several hours ago, my sadness is too much for me at the moment.

As you know, I barely made it through the dark moments of the Rulli/Boyer TN. This one has been more of the same for me, so I just don't comment. It was Mads who drew me into reading the recaps, but...

I plan on going back to read all that she has written. I need to feel that she is still with us somehow and I think that will help with the sadness I feel.

I don't know what I would do without our wonderful group.

Fatima

gringo, "Well maybe not, you might be busy helping out where ever help is needed". What a lovely sentiment.

You echoed what we are all feeling. Madelaine leaves a void that cannot be filled.

Diana

Fatima, I am so happy you posted.

Yes, I clearly remember how difficult it was for you to watch Robo and I can imagine trying to watch this is even more so.

I think it's lovely that you will re-read Madelaine's recaps. Her spirit and words will live on.

Fatima, please stop by when you can. Your warm and sensitive presence is truly missed.

I stated yesterday that I was going to write a separate post on my feelings on Juliana's situation but Tofie, you've summarized my feelings:

"I don't care if Norberto applied the beating or not, it is just splitting hairs because he has used his hand to shut her up their whole marriage. I don't get why everyone but German are in such an uproar over Juliana self harming to get away from the beast once and for all".

Abuse is not a gray area. An act is abusive or it isn't. There are no categories of "major abuse" or "minor abuse". The first time Norberto slapped Juliana, he became an abuser. Does her constant taunting and tantalizing Norberto excuse his actions? No.

I agree that Juliana is a lying, manipulative, self-centered, conniving witch. But I can't help but wonder. If she had been submissive and docile, would have been forgiven for the same self-mutilation?

She fought back. Fire with fire. If Norberto hadn't hit her, that would have been a completely different scenario. But how else could she have left him?

They are both despicable - there is no doubt but Norberto crossed a line that should never have been crossed.

While I can't say Juli deserves a lifetime of happiness, she does deserve to be away from Norberto.

Diana

As I've said before, Juli and Norb are two people who should have never married each other. It was a toxic situation from the beginning.

Thanks for spellbinding recap and the care you took for your take on Juliana. Since Andres described a very different Juliana, is furthur proof that she was all that when treated with gentleness and RESPECT. Regretfully, for a moment I was feeling very unforgiving of Juliana. But now I feel that Norberto's constant abuse and disrespect and THAT magnified her less desirable traits. There's an old song, "there's a thin line between love and hate." Yes, she could have left, but in Mexico she very well could be given miserable sum of money.

About Mads, I feel very very sad. I feel like I lost a best friend that I knew all my life. I dont quite understand because I had started late into the group and don't even know what she looks likes or read her recaps very long. I remember her as wittiy, but kind and could tell her zest of life. I felt bad and worried with her illness and I looked forward to her getting well and being as she always was before. Now with her passing I just feel very sad. Someone mentioned they were going to reread her recaps, i will try to find those too. I can imagine how her immediate fanmily feels, I am touched over the extended Caray family sentiments.

Gloria, superb recap. Thanks a bunch.

Wonderful to catch up with everyone's comments. I do believe dear Madelaine would be pleased by the robust discussion here.

I confess I feel bad for Juliana and I don't blame her for doing anything to be free of Norb. Her one saving grace is that she loves her boys, though selfishly -- but that's not so different from most parents. But Juliana is also not a good friend to Cris (she would've jumped Este if he'd let her) and didn't care that she put Andres at risk with that stunt.

Juliana was a hoot flirting with Hector. After being on lockdown with Norb all those years, she's stir crazy and starving for some real luv'n. Actually, there should be a legion of women chasing single, rich, smart, handsome Hector. Thanks goodness he's too astute to get entrapped by Juliana.

The ball is in Acacia's court. We know Este will make a move. So what happens is up to her.

My dear amiga, Diana,

Thank you for your kind words.

I started reading some of Mads' work this morning, but the sadness is too much. Still, it made me feel her presence.

Isn't it an amazing gift that we all can feel so much for each other without ever having met.

I don't think there is any other place out there in the ether that can come close to what we have here at Caray.

Fatima

Novella lover, yes, Madelaine was a friend. Even though most of us never met her, we felt we knew her as she generously shared her true self with us. I remember how happy she was when she and Mr. Mads had a special date night, which seemed to be quite often. She always commented what a wonderful time they had.

Diana

Danilo and the confession Friday night---I am not of the Catholic faith but I think that I understand the confessional. To me
what Daniel did was not a confession, it was a threat. I realize that the confession is a sacred trust but I can't believe that a threat in anyway is bound
by church doctrine or the sacred trust of the confessional. Run padre run, right to the police. Lets get this evil man in jail where he belongs. There are no three piece suits in jail Danilo.
the gringo

Gringo- Those are exactly my sentiments.

Hi! I have a work project that must be done today and it will be a late night tonight. Anyone willing to recap or switch days with me? Otherwise, I will put up a discussion page. Thanks.

Gloria- I'm willing to switch tonight for tomorrow night with you.

I can switch my night as well if that will help either of you, Vivi or Gloria. The only night I can't do this week is Friday. Just as long as I have some notice.

Diana

Thanks Diana. I'll be fine tonight. Let's see what Gloria says about tomorrow night. If she can't do it, then it would be great if you could fill in.

OK Vivi. Be happy to do Tuesday if needed.

Diana

Bit off topic, but Televisa's "Gracias" promo for 2014 is out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnGB48b6O2I

Features a bunch of actors from their novelas (a number of which haven't aired in US yet) dancing and lip-synching to "La vida es mejor cantando."

The interplay between the cast of La Malquerida is probably my favorite. The bit where Sabine Moussier and Africa Zavala did their little strut made me laugh out loud.

Also, they had a number of actors stay in character. Another bit I like is Brandon Peniche looks unhappy, then is convinced to join the fun and Guillermo Garcia Cantu just shakes his head in semi-disgust at his screen son.

Also love the in-character antagonist bitchface of Azela Robinson from Yo no creo en los hombres and the villainous conspiring in midst of the fun by Claudia Ramirez and Luis Gatica from El color de la pasion.

RG- Loved the interplay between the La Mal cast in the video, as you said. Thanks again! I left a comment on the Hasta feed too.

I notice Acacia is wearing "the dress" and Ale and Perla in some mighty sexy dresses too. :)

Thanks ladies. I believe I can do tomorrow night.
