Mi Corazon es Tuyo #101 Life returns to normal at Lasc, Diego and Nico get welcome greeting, Lasc style. Fernando and Diego have heart to heart talk.

Lo Nuevo:

Ana wakes up, gets help from Siete to wake up the kids… She goes in kitchen and gets startled at Don Fernando who is making espresso coffee. He gives Ana a cup and she almost chokes on it since its strong.

Johnny is at the apartment with Edna… he does some of his usual skids of comedy… ff>>

Fernando is telling Ana about Manuela’s whereabouts or lack thereof.

Fanny joins them in kitchen. She tells them she broke it off with Leon. Tells them about Leon’s bout of jealousy with Lenin.

At school, Lenin meets with his friends and talks about Fanny with them. Here comes Leon having just heard Lenin say he likes Fanny. Leon punches him and threats him and Lenin returns the punch. Lenin mocks what Fanny saw in Leon to begin with and they begin to fight… (is this the only language Leon understands?)

Fanny and Edith at school are walking around somewhere else… They are talking about Nando’s virtues… Edith comes up with an idea but before she can expand on it they see the brawl crowd. Edith tells Fanny its Leon and Lenin. Fanny and Edith break it up. Fanny nags at Leon that this is not the way to fix things. Fanny walks away angry. She gets upset and tells Edith it can’t be like this.

At the house, Ana and Fernando also talk about Fanny and Lenin. Ana says maybe Fanny is not into him but he is not indifferent to her.

Somewhere in the fields there is a wooden cage where Manuela, with her face painted silver, is vowing to get away from mundane society. The leader is responding in prayer for Manuela. Bruno is nearby hearing it all and making faces like he is confused. He is telling himself this is a dream (of his?). Just before Manuela is to be turned over to the other spatial community… (what will Bruno do? Stay tuned)

In Lasc kitchen, we have subway PST, all kids except Fanny are eating subs and soda…

Diego and Nico are getting released from hospital. Jenn and Natalia and Fernando are with them. Nico says goodbye to Marlene his nurse. She will miss him.

Nico and Diego arrive to the house to a welcome greeting by Ana and the kids. All the kids have bright color wigs like clowns. They have wigs for Nico, Natalia, Jen and Diego too. Luz looks lovely with her orange curly wig. Ana asks how Diego is. He says ready to play ‘clare de lune’ here on the piano (he’s jk of course) Fernando with a Bozo clown wig tells them Bruno went to try to get Manuela back.

Said Bruno is about to witness Manuela being sacrificed (or stte). Slowly but surely Bruno gets close. There is some green light over Manuela. Bruno does some acrobatic moves and then quickly interrupts the ceremony, wakes up Manuela who was unconscious. Bruno carries Manuela out of there. Somewhere else nearby he tries to wake up Manuela. He tells her they need her back, no one can cook like her.

Ana explains to Nico and Diego that the welcome is to show them how much they’re loved. And now that they’re back the joy will return to the family. They give an intro to a new rap number. This time all siblings and even Ana and Fernando are in the rap number choreography. Even Siete is dancing with a silver little wig/bow in the head. Diego adds his rap section. Then Fernando adds his. Finale is a ring around the rosie with Diego with his arms out stretched on casts.

At the Costena office, Isabella is ranting at Freeky about not doing his job… he is singing opera while she continues to shout at him. Fernando has called, Isa will call him back. Isa tells Betty Freeky is going nuts, Betty agrees with her. Isa keeps on trying to win Betty over by giving her compliments on her eyes. Isa calls Fernando back. He says they need to talk. About Alicia. Isa not looking forward to this convo. She says to the camera she has to go buy the rat poison.

Diego and Natalia are installed in his old room. Ana says they need to ask Fernando (probably about Natalia staying). Fernando comes in. he is getting the rest of the furniture (remember they had bought YoMama some furniture so Fernando bought some for Diego as well. Fernando gives the ok for Natalia to stay. Diego says need help getting dressed etc. Fernando reminds him he had volunteered to care for Diego personally. Diego prefers the ladies (Natalia and Ana) but he will settle for Natalia. Diego tells Fernando have lots to talk about. Sebas comes in to invite Diego to a card game… (oops they all laugh about the issue of the hands).

Edith comes to Lasc mansion with what she is afraid will be bad news for Fanny. Lenin followed Edith. Lenin is a bit ironic with a comment about not intending to dirty the marble floor. Lenin came to apologize to Fanny about the fight with her bf. The little kids upstairs are scanning Lenin from up there. Lenin tries for a get out of jail free card… telling Fanny that he believes words are better than weapons or violence to achieve concensus. Fanny buys what he’s selling.

Meanwhile Leon is releasing some of his jealousy steam with Laura at his house.

Lenin presents himself to the little ones. The twins play a prank (open the jar and out pops a stretch snake) on him and take a photo of him. Edith and Fanny are enjoying the show. Lenin enjoyed the prank. He did not freak out.

Laura twists the knife by saying that if Fanny did not mention Lenin is for a reason. She would love for someone to be jealous with her as Leon is with Fanny. Almost instantly Laura steals a kiss from Leon. He is shocked.

Fanny, Edith and Lenin are talking. Fanny explains that the recent days were complicated about Nico’s heart attack and Diego’s accident. Edith goes to try to find Nando.

Laura calls Leon as Fanny does, ‘Lion’ and this ticks off Leon. Laura gets upset that Leon does not buy her selling the jealousy rage to him. Leon says he and Fanny love each other. Laura admits she tried to get with Nando to bother Ximena. But with him (Leon) she does mean it, she has more in common with him. Now Leon does not buy this version either.

Lenin and Fanny talk about the Sor Juana de la Cruz poems. She recites a portion. He stares at her, she asks him if he’s ok. He says he wishes she realized how attractive she is. He starts moving in for a kiss but the doorbell rings. It is Pablo to see Alicia. Lenin asks if he can call Fanny. She would rather he not. He leaves. (Fanny asks heself what is going on ‘cancela! Cancela! Cancela!’). Pablo compliments Fanny on her looks. She goes up to get Alicia. Pablo sits down at the couch and starts shivering like it’s the north pole there.

Ana is getting Alicia ready for the ‘visit’. Fanny comes to fetch Alicia. As Alicia runs downstairs with Ana as the ‘chaperone’, Fanny looks at herself in the mirror and remembers Lenin’s words about her not realizing how attractive he is… she smiles.

Edith with Nando. She apologizes for the kiss last night but not for her feelings. He asks what is that she feels. She hesitates, then asks if he read Don Quixote. Edith comes out clear, is falling for Nando. Nando thanks her politely but he has a gf. Edith says Xime left, and since then he looks happier like having released a big weight off his back. And even if he continues with Xime, it won’t change what she feels for him. Edith leaves… Nando runs after her… He runs into Fanny at hallway.

Pablo gives Alicia a gift. It is a CD with some songs he likes. He hopes she likes them too. (do we really have to hear that laughter again??? GEEEZZZ!!!)

Edith tells Ana that Lenin is upstairs. (what?)

Ana offers Pablo and Alicia a drink… they refuse at first but then accept. Alicia smiles shyly at Pablo.

Fernando is still in Diego’s room talking to him. Brings him a pillow for comfort. Diego says feeling useless. Reminds Fernando when he broke her collarbone at middle school. IT stunk when they took his cast off.

Fernando sits on the bed and keeps reminiscing with Diego. Fernando says he and Diego have wasted so much time… life just slips away in a sigh. They have spent so many years apart… Fernando says when Diego ‘died’ in the ambulance, Fernando felt really bad, like someone ripped half of his sould, half of his life. In that second/moment, Fernando felt useless. He understood how much they have complicated each other’s life. Besides their differences and their arguments, Diego, you are my brother. My only brother. Fernando is about to turn 50, they joke about that. Never told Diego what he feels for hom. ‘Te amo’. Te amo, hermano. Diego is moved, tears in both their eyes. They embrace and Diego cries on Fernando’s shoulder.

Previews: Isa visits the house willing to fight. Fernando leaves Isa alone and she finds out about ‘Soledad Fuentes’ and that Fernando is helping search for her.

Gracias, Marta... and we have another filler episode.

Didn't like the clown wigs, but loved Siete's antics. I hope he didn't get all that screen time because of being offed by Isabruja.

OK: she is of age....right? Fripppin Fanny is smoking in the see through skirt and purple hair. WOW.

Yaaaa. The little dog is a pretty good actor. If Isahoe er Isabela hurts him Ill hurt her. Did we forget that Crazy Reeky tried to kill Nico? Thankfully he appears to be headed for Manatee Glenns (wacky ward).IE: Fer must reassume the helm.

Kirby, she's 19. And the see-through skirt is tacky.

Marta, thanks for your wonderful recap.

My favorite parts:

Fernando and Nico in the Bozo wigs.

Fernando and Diego reminiscing about when Fernando broke his collar bone as a kid and how he stunk like a goat when they took off the cast.

The new version of the "open the jar" trick the kids played on Lenin.

We are really stuck in a holding pattern with this one. Time for it to get moving.

Jarifa

Hey Marta, your recap was super, detailed, and much appreciated! Thanks!

When I saw Diego with his arms immobilized and an orange clown wig, I thought "this must be Osorio's revenge". That scene went on forever and, for me, got old really fast. Siete still the cutest thing on four legs.

Anyone notice that Pablo's acne spots were gone tonight? Maybe they will do a laugh-ectomy next.

J in Oregon

martaivett, LOVE your detail. You made an almost totally boring episode so much more fun to read than to watch.

J in Oregon, "Laugh-ectomy". Right there with ya on that one!

Fatima

Yaa It is tacky. So am I. :-)

Marta:
Thanks for putting so much effort into a really boring episode. Is it just me or does it seem as if Osorio loves adding obnoxious characters? On top whinning / crying Manuela (who Bruno has gone to get and bring back); bonkers Ximena (let's hope she stays in California; sex crazed, sloppering Yomama, deranged wannabe opera singer IkkyLizard; juvenile pushy Lenin; insecure jealous León (he better not sleep with you know whom); up and coming call girl Laura; we now have to deal with pimple-face, brillo pad Pablo and his utterly ridiculous and irritating laugh.

Would that they all could all be realistic and down to earth like Edith, Famny, or Nando.

Thank you Marta--I am smiling as I read thinking "is this the same episode I watched" because your recap is so much better.

To answer you too Victoria, this is Osorio's version of humor and I don't think it's regarded as boring in Mexico from what some of our Caraymates is saying. Seen it before in his shows. For me, I agree, it starts to grate after awhile especially when it's all we get during an episode while the TN stretches to oblivion.

I almost felt like we were getting one big farewell to Diego last night with that make-up scene with Fer. Like...hey we don't know what to do with you anymore, finish the rivalry with your brother, and so you and Nat can hang out in this boring room and we'll throw the kids at you once in awhile. Really worrying for our dear man.

I swear the only reason we got the stupid clown skit was so Osorio's little guy could be front and center again doing his rap crud. (I'm really starting to hate these raps.) Love the dog though.

I don't dislike Lenin totally, think he's got some attitude, but nothing you wouldn't run across in a lot of guys his age finding their "way", but I do think they are going there, if only for awhile, with he and Fanny. Might be an interesting pairing for awhile since he does get her to think about life around her, challenge her,etc.- wonder what the staring at Fanny Sr.'s pic was all about. That seemed to last a bit longer than needed.

Nando/Edith for the win!!!

WTH with the Manuela plotline. I switched those scenes off because honestly?

Daisynjay

Thanks, Marta, for the excellent recap!

Wow. I missed a couple of weeks and returned to see an alien version of Manuela about to beamed up to the mothership. Que paso?!? I have to watch the previous episodes.

What?!? Isabruja wants to 'off' Siete? Oh, heck no.

Have a great day, All!

Really good Marta and thank you.

I for once didn't mind the rap & dance number since everyone was involved. It showed me the family is tight. It also concerns me. What happens with the newly acquired mother hen when Fernando & Ana fall out over her seedy connection.

Leon was stupid to go spoiling for a fight, should never have hid his marriage and child but I feel bad for the guy now. Fanny is responding more to flattery from Lenin than anything and it didn't take much.

Ok, so Bruno saved Manuela from a cult, does she awaken with a new personality?

And fon't forget skank in training Fanny who flits from one guy to another like a fly on a couple of choice dog tur__s. Really disappointed with her. She is beginning to look more like Laura. Glad Leon shut Laura down but what was she doing at his house to begin with?

WOW they never let us forget this is a telenovela do they? Because none of this shat ever happens on this planet. Er maybe the dog is believable.

I think we will see Manuela again and something will be different. When I saw that cult the first time I started thinking that the old man had dishonorable intentions toward her.

The silver paint made me think of Goldfinger so I wondered whether Bruno was going to try to channel James Bond.

Fanny needs to be direct with both of these guys and let them know that violence will only turn her off.

Tofie, you really seem to want to punish Ana for what she has been afraid to tell Fernando. But what will really bug him is that Diego, Nick, Bruno, Manuela, Fanny, and Nando all knew about it.

Kirby, Laura is one of those girls who will steal any guy from any female she knows as a game of one-up-womanship. She pulled this on Ximena and now on Fanny, which will backfire on her big time because she first chased Fanny's younger brother.

I think the producer/writers are grooming this young actress for Villana classification because of her resemblance to Diana Bracho.

And Fanny isn't a skank; she's naive and new to all this stuff. I doubt she had much of a dating life before the curtain went up on this tale.

UA, Ana is the one that can shut this down if she wanted to, however, I agree she is not in this alone. Ana is a new addition to the family and in reality someone they all barely know. The deceit by Fanny, Nic & Diego is something that is more disrespectful and would be harder to overcome.

I feel sorry for Ana. Ana is like a little kid hiding in full sight with her eyes closed and paralyzed in the face of Fernando's possible reaction. She knows that she could easily end up with nothing and separated from the kids. She has had nothing and does not want to go back to that.

Urban, I agree that Fanny is not a skank but just naïve in the dating world. She doesn't know what to do with all of the attention she is getting.

Daisynjay, you are probably right about Lenin, but he just rubs me the wrong way. He and his friends just seem so immature for college students. Maybe it is just my age showing.

Jarifa

Lenin is more mature intellectually than he is socially. I also don't think he has had nearly as much life experience as Leon. It's like he and Leon are opposite sides of the same coin.

Just thought of the next pet for the Lascurain kids: a parrot who will repeat Isabruja's rants when she's not there.

Jarifa,
the problem is not that
She has had nothing and does not want to go back to that.

the problem is that now she knows what she had been missing all along (the family, the love, others actually caring about her, other than her bff Jen)... so now that she has tasted it all she does not want to lose it, and she knows the kids won't take it smiling either... they need her just as much as she needs them.

UA, LOVE LOVE your pet idea...

My Hoyle card games program has a dozen players to use as partners and opponents and my favorite non-human one is Captain Scurvy, a parrot who does pirate talk. If I were a writer on this show I'd add him to the household and make him a partner in crime with the twins.

Urban, I am well acquainted with Hoyle's Captain Scurvy. Great idea!

Jarifa

Wouldn't it be cute for our hypothetical Captain Scurvy to give orders to Siete, who would then salute him?

Thank you for the wonderful recap!

Must admit I turned away from the rap about 10 seconds in so missed the whole thing. I feel embarrassed for the actors.

Why do we need Laura's character? I wish she would go away.

Who wants to bet that Nando gets with Edith and then Xime comes back cured and now we get another threesome, i.e. Leon, Fanny, Lenin?

What was up with the guy in the gladiator costume in Manuela's circle? What kind of spiritual retreat has costumes out of Halloween?

Urban, I bet Siete could do that!

Jarifa

Daisynjay - I also noticed Lenin staring at Estefania's portrait. I'll bet she once volunteered at a center where he once lived or frequented as a child, positively influencing his life.

UA: Yeah you're probably right about Fanny. I feel bad for Leon. In his defense, when he met Fanny he had not seen his wife or son for years and had given up.

Laura: Yup I've known lots of women who would pass over a wonderful guy to steal a loser from a coworker just for the oneupwomanship of proving she could.

I'm starting to get reeaally annoyed by this show. I end up fast forwarding through so much. I might have to do a bullet point recap this weekend since they aren't giving us much to write about. Thanks Marta for taking one for the team.

I know I'm in the minority, but I like Lenin for Fanny better than Leon. He has the same interests as her, and when he's serious, he's serious about very important issues. I doubt they will split up Fanny and Leon in the long run, but it would be nice if they changed the script this time.

I'm also not a fan of the style of humor in this show. I loved the humor in Que Pobres Tan Rico, but this falls flat to me and I think that Sylvia Navaro should stick to drama. I do think that Jorge Salinas is better at the humor, he just needs better writing.

Ecuador: great idea on Lenin. Hadn't thought of that at all. He seemed to really look at it rather longingly or with love which is what got me. That then would make sense.

UA--I'm in with the parrot. Heck the pets are smarter than the people--they should mass together and run the place.

I've missed some scenes here and there last week or so. Did Leon ever get that other position that Fer told him he'd help with or is he back to being unemployed? I'm not clear on that. Ideally, and I know it would be rough, but if he has a job again, maybe he could apply for aid and take a course or so in night school so he can work on his degree again. Curious why the writers haven't gone there with that idea?

Daisynjay

Thank you, Marta. You do such a comprehensive job that captures the crazy and the thoughtful.

Great catch, Ecuador, on Lenin's look at Fanny. I guess there is a story there that will add to the coincidence level.

Sweet scene between Diego and Fernando. I agree that JS is a very versatile actor, who can do comedy and drama and understands that less is usually more. I wish that Osorio had got the memo on that.

Not much going on, I know, but I have enjoyed these last two fill-in, set-up episodes. The retreat that poor Manuela finds herself in was truly over the top. Where do they get these ideas?

Thanks, Marta. Great recap. Also, UA, thanks for your great recap, too.

Hate that Isa is going to do something re: Soledad.

I like that the kids have little rituals they do together. And this is a "remake" of TSOM, so there has to be music. They just modernized it to what's popular today.

I can see why Ana is so afraid of telling Fer about her past. She doesn't want to lose her family. The longer she waits, the harder it will be for her to confess. If she's hesitant to get together with Fer after his choosing Isa, how much more hesitant will she be if he goes off on her about her dancing?

Nanette

Remember that Fernando also likes to dance... and he's Strictly Ballroom. I'm sure he wouldn't mind doing the tango with her. If he goes off at her about this he might hear echoes of his own parents (as in Nick before he saw the light).

When it's reveled Fernando has been lied to, why would he ever believe anything Ana ever told him? Why would he believe anything his father, Diego, Fanny, Nando, Bruno or, if she returns, Manuela ever say? No one is being honest with the guy. Yes, he was boneheaded in his rush to marry Isabela but he has admitted it and taken action to resolve the issue. He has tried to resolve his mistakes with both Diego and Ana and his reward is to be made a fool of. If I were him, I'd be devastated when it reveled. No one had his back or respected him enough to tell the man the truth. His support system died with Estefina.

Only because he killed it through neglect. He became more of a workaholic after Estefania died to avoid dealing with his grief and became more alienated from his family. Ana was the only person with the guts to tell him that.

I give Ana kudos for helping Fernando and his family reunite and further helping Fernando get his head out of his own ass but everyone he loves and believes he trust is lying to him. For what? To protect himself from himself? To protect Ana? If that's so, why don't they just have him committed and given a lobotomy so he will act as they see fit. At best they all are manipulating him for their own benefit.

What do you want Fernando to do when he finds out? Fire Ana, get a restraining order against her, and take the bruja back with a bun in the oven that he didn't contribute to? If this were a drama he might.

We don't know whether Ana had other options when she got out of the orphanage; I'm going to assume she didn't or thought she didn't. She is not a slut, she doesn't try to manipulate Doroteo with sex like other women in that place do, nor does she interact with the customers. They can look but not touch. That may not be a reality in those places, but that is Ana's reality.

She can hold the Lola thing over his head, but we'll see.

I think Fernando's initial reaction will be to fire Ana but at this point cannot because of the children. No need to tell the younger kids about the deceit or the reason behind it.
Ana is good for the kids but Fernando should not be in a romantic relationship with her. (she has a habit of keeping things from him) He's willing to expose himself completely to her and she is not to him but can to everyone else. I think he should keep things strictly business during the day and she dances her heart out at night, no questions asked.
I also think Bruno should never be a confidant again and should reevaluate his relationship with his father. I don't know how he gets over the disappointment of Fanny lying about this. She is his rock.

He should never go back with Isabela and certainly not around his kids.

DaisynJay, Ecuador, good catch about Lenin and Estefania's painting. i was wondering why he stared at it for so long but your theory makes all kinds of sense.

and hard to believe as it might seem, i agree with both UA and tofie here...
yes, Ana might not have had many choices... and yes, Ana maintains her dignity as compared to other women who dance in nightclubs... but Fernando will show whatever is left of the old 'Don Frio' Fernando when he finds out, at least for the first reaction. and yes, he will believe that everyone he trusted before to be honest with him and make decisions for his wellbeing has betrayed him.... it will be a while of self-analysis and seeing things from another perspective upon insistence from Nico, Diego, Bruno, and his own kids that he will be able to digest and look at the 'secret' from a more realistic and human perspective. so in the meantime we will certainly have a separation.

UA, good point about the Lola memory. if Fernando did go almost out of his way to contact Lola again, wasn't he lowering his own standards? even if he did not mean for it to be a long term thing? not sure Ana SHOULD use this, but he might remember it himself.

Desire (Fernando for Lola) and love & respect (what Fernando thinks is reciprocal with Ana) are two different things and can be mutually exclusive or inclusive. I'm not so bothered by her night job as I am about the lying because of it. Ana chides the kids frequently about lying and you can see on her face when she does the hypocrisy. Fernando has time and again told all of them not to blind side him. This is a Mac truck.

Urban
Bring on the parrot! !!
Its chatter would drive Isabruja crazy !!

BTW, the scene between Diego and Fer touched me. In fact, I like the way the men (and boys) openly express their love and affection for each other on this show.

Victoria, that might be the one thing that keeps her out of the Lascurain mansion.
