Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #103 1/12/14 How About a Game of "Who's Your Daddy?"
From Friday:
At the store, Pedro says good-by to Paco before going back to Monterrey.
Chava shows up at home on his motorcycle and takes Lupe' to her dance classes.
Renzi suggests Pato give Greta the name of one of the real estate partners to use for the name of Sofia's fake father. They'll use the name of a dead man so Sofia won't find out much about him. Pato asks Renzi to make sure the guy was a bum, that way Sofia will be so humiliated by her background that she won't feel she has a right to come back to run the factory.
Iker puts the drops in Greta's tea.
Greta gets the name of Sofia's fake father from Pato.

This is the Lombardi Trophy that the NFL presents to the team that wins the Super Bowl. Please remember this picture for later in the recap.
Lucas, Ollie, Dani and Mari meet at the factory and talk about their band. They still need a drummer and a female vocalist. Both girls want to try out. These kids are so wholesome and picture perfect that I'm going to call them the Wonder Bread Band.
Dani tells Ollie that after Sofia ran out and left Pato at the alter, she came back home with him! Now Sofia wants to resign as the head of the company.
Iker gives Greta her tea. She sips it and notices that it tastes different but still very good. Iker says that he's been trying other herbs in the hope that his teas will give Greta the relaxation she needs. He neglects to tell Greta that he'd like her to relax with a long dirt nap.
Pato fills Silvana in on the plan to help Greta out and give her the name of a dead guy that Greta can pass off as Sofia's real father. Pato is getting tired of dealing with Greta but doesn't want to lose her trust.
Chava pulls up on his new motorcycle. Armie wants to know where Chava got the ride. They talk about Araceli. Chava thinks he made it clear to her that nothing will happen between them. Armie thinks Chava should continue to see Araceli as "good friend". Because that has worked so well up to this point...
Sofia tells Silvana that Greta spilled her guts in a confession to the Virgincita just before the wedding. Sofia overheard the whole thing. Not only did Sofia find out that she is NOT the daughter of Octavio Ripoll, Greta now refuses to tell her who her father actually is! Now Sofia feels compelled to step down as the head of Ripoll Chocolates because, for some reason that completely escapes me, continuing to run the company successfully would somehow sully the legacy of the guy who is not her daddy! Silvana sympathizes. Sofia must find out who her father is and has asked Pato to help.
At the store, Paco tells Araceli that the only man who actually wants her is headed back to Monterrey... alone. Araceli is okay with that. She'd rather continue to stalk Chava and maybe try to ply him with more alcohol in the chance that he'll think she is Sofia and have drunken sex with her again. After all, as they say, the third time is a charm. Paco sits her down and tells her not to miss her chance to actually have a relationship again - with a guy that **actually wants her**.
At the so-clean-you-can-eat-off-the-floors garage, Chava works on an engine and daydreams about kissing Sofia. His daydream is so real you can even hear birds chirping.
Alexa comes into Sofia's office. Pato leaves after telling Sofia she can count on him for anything she needs. Sofia tells Alexa that she loves her but wants Alexa to vote against Sofia staying on as head of the company.

Back at the store, Lupe' tells Paco, "Javier didn't think I was serious about the divorce. Javier is making an effort to change. He got a job, he isn't drinking, he visits the kids and he even gave some money to Marisol!" Paco wonders if Javier is trying to win back Lupe's heart. Lupe' says, "It's too late." Paco looks worried as Lupe' mulls things over.
Meanwhile, Javier is with Isadora at a fancy restaurant. She wants him to sing. Javier is sure the other patrons wouldn't like it. And they'd be right. Isadora wants to eat, but Javier thinks it's too early. She suggests they drink until dinner time and tells the waiter, "I'll have a Bloody Mary." Javier orders a double tequila. Isadora gets up to use the ladies room. In a gentlemanly gesture Javier puts one hand out to help Isadora from her chair while he shoves the other hand into her purse. He pulls out a wad of cash and stuffs it into his pocket. Morgana watches the theft from a table across the room.
Sofia reminds Alexa that she has always supported Alexa's hair-brained schemes including her failed acting career and the time she wasted in Spain. Now it's Alexa's turn to support Sofia. "Put yourself in my shoes. I need to find out who I am!" Alexa reluctantly agrees to support Sofia by voting against her. They cry and hug.

Greta and Fausto are talking in the studio. Greta stands up and immediately feels the effect of the drops Iker put in her tea. She tells Fausto that she just got up too fast and sits back down. Fausto thinks that now that he is Greta's confidant again, there is no need for Iker to stay on. Greta agrees. She asks Fausto to handle letting Iker go. Iker listens just outside the door. "You won't get rid of me."

Sofia absently pages through a book on chocolate and daydreams about kissing Chava. Dani comes in to tell Sofia about Wonder Bread Band practice. She can't believe that Sofia is stepping down as head of the company. She should stay on! Nobody else can run Ripoll the way Sofia does.
Alexa tells Armie that, at the board meeting, Sofia wants her to vote for Sofia to step down. Alexa asks if Chava knows that Sofia wants to quit. Armie admits he hasn't told Chava anything because Chava just wants to forget Sofia.
Ollie and Lucas continue their search for a drummer for the Wonder Bread Band. They almost settle on one guy until a guy wearing a studded leather jacket and dog collar walks in the door and blows them all away with his undiscovered talent. They welcome him to the band.
Lupe' and Chava share a sweet mother-son moment in the kitchen.
The new drummer will be back to jam with the Wonder Bread Band tomorrow. See what I did there? Ollie and Lucas decide it's time for the girls to audition for vocalist. Marisol tries to sing but gets nervous. She tries again and sings off-key and off-tempo.
At the hospital, Nandito feeds Irma some lunch. He is eager for Irma to come back home. Nandtio runs to get Irma more water. Irma says she is anxious to get back home with Armie. Armie asks if she remembers what happened between them. Does she remember what happened with Nandito?
Ollie asks Dani to sing and - big surprise - she nails it. Marisol is jealous and bitchy.
Armie gets agitated. Doesn't Irma remember that they are separated? No, she only remembers their happiness. As they are talking the nurse comes in to check something at Irma's bedside table. Armie asks, "Do you remember Araceli asking you to go to Renzi's real estate office?" Irma doesn't remember that either. She can't even remember how she ended up in the hospital.

Paco has brought a grocery order to the Ripoll house. He and Miguelina talk about the cancelled wedding and Greta fighting with her daughters. Greta comes into the kitchen and sends Miguelina out to get her purse. Paco looks at Greta and remembers the day in the park when she told him that Sofia was Octavio's daughter. Greta cries, "Why does the past have to haunt us?" Paco is glad that Sofia had the courage not to marry a guy her mother picked out. It seems that Greta is paying for all the pain she caused Paco. Greta cries, "Paco, you and I had no future together." Paco thunders, "Then why did you make me think we had a future?"
Paco hands Greta the bill for the groceries. Their hands touch just for a moment. Sofia comes into the kitchen and Paco excuses himself, "I was just leaving."
In an especially weird moment Greta asks Sofia right then and there, "Would you like to know your father's name?"
"Of course I would!"
Greta pronounces the name carefully, "Cipriano Fuentes." So does that make Sofia the half-sister of Daisy Fuentes of TVs "Secret Extensions" fame?

Cristian calls Silvana and tells her that Greta and Fausto are planning to let him go. Silvana tells him to do whatever he has to do to stay. He needs time to administer the drops to Greta and kill her slowly. And if he can't stay? "Then," Silvana says, "You'll have to kill that witch with your own hands."
Greta tells Sofia that Cipriano Fuentes was an employee for her father and Octavio. Sofia is surprised that Greta seems to have no feelings or curiosity about the man she supposedly loved. Sofia is going to look for him. She wants to meet him.
While Dani and Marisol bitch at each other, Ollie and Lucas agree it's pretty obvious that Dani is the better singer. They tell Dani that she'll be lead vocalist and Marisol can sing backup. Ollie tells Dani that her performance was incredible and then kisses her. Marisol grabs Lucas by the face, but strangely doesn't kiss him.
Iker doesn't understand why Fausto doesn't like him. Miguelina suggests that Iker should try buttering Fausto up with an old movie or a book. That kind of stuff makes Fausto happy.
Upstairs, Sofia prays that the Virgin will help her find her papa.
The next day the Ripoll Board of Directors - made up of Greta, her daughters and 3 older men - meet. Sofia says that she wants to step down. Greta insists that she stay. One of the men says that they can't force Sofia to stay on, but Greta says, "Yes, we can!"
Chava test drives the car that he worked on.
Sofia suggests that Alexa take over as CEO. Alexa is shocked, "ME?" Dani votes to keep Sofia, Alexa votes to let her leave. Dani is appalled that Alexa apparently wants Sofia out. Greta had no idea that Alexa was that ambitious. The men all agree that Alexa is a good choice because she will protect the interests of the Ripoll family as well as their interests. Alexa whines that now she is going to be stuck at the factory all day. Sofia wishes her the best of luck. Sucka.
Fausto tries to tell Iker that he is no longer needed at the Ripoll house, instead Iker gives him a gift. Fausto is touched because it's his favorite Gene Kelly movie!
Ollie tells Isadora about the Wonder Bread Band. She is concerned that Daddy Dearest won't like the idea.
Greta visits Pato to tell him that Alexa has been elected as the new CEO. Greta is also worried because she gave Sofia her fake father's name, but Sofia is still asking questions.

Pato assures Greta that Sofia won't find out anything because the guy is dead. Greta also told Sofia that Cipriano Fuentes was an employee of Ripoll's years ago. Pato grins, "Perfect! Sofia can search the company files. We'll plant some information - but not much. She'll come back to work soon." Greta is so relieved! She knew she could count on Pato to pull her bacon from the fire.

Alexa whines to Armie that now she'll actually be expected to work at the office, and not just meet Armie in the boiler room for nookie. And to top it all off she has to work with that cheating rat bastard Patricio! Since Alexa isn't actually CEO material Armie suggests that she show everyone she isn't cut out for the position.
Sofia tells Pato that he'll be a great teacher for Alexa. He reminds Sofia that she still has legal rights just like Alexa and Dani. Sofia just wants to use her time to think and find out who she really is.
Alexa wants everyone to know Sofia made a mistake by stepping down. Alexa asks Irais to get her a movie magazine. As long as Alexa is CEO she's going to spend her time doing the things she really likes.
Sofia goes for a walk outside the factory. Chava is driving by, sees her and stops. He calls to her. Sofia asks him about the car. Chava says that he just finished working on it, he's got a job at a shop nearby. He parks the car and gets out to talk to Sofia. He notices something different about her. She says, "I feel free. I just resigned as head of Ripoll Chocolates."
End of Episode.

I saw the last minute of this epi and was upset that it was bleeding into important La Malquerida time when it went beyond 10pm. Really, that's all I cared about.

Waiting for Irais' sister to blow into town. I'm hoping that will liven things up a bit. Including Matias.
If I were a betting woman, I would suspect Irma remembers everything. Not sure if she realizes Renzi has spies about but think she is plotting to get Armando back by playing innocent and pretending the recent past just didn't occur.

Wonder how long it'll be before the grunge drummer boy is being fought over by both Dani & Oliver. Thought it funny when Lucas saw the dude.
So, Chava gets to cruise around in a Mercedes convertible, in his wife beater T-Shirt, just waiting for some blondie to notice. Of course he had to leap out of the moving car and go hump her leg, thankfully she was deft with a turn and run.
I don't know who was more surprised the choice of new CEO, me or Alexa.

OMG! This was such a boring episode. I kept hitting the FF>> button. XLNT, as usual, your recaps are much better than the actual episode. Love, love, love your photos and recaps. "long dirt nap" jajaja.
My favorite though was the reference to the Lombardi trophy. Very clever with the tease at the beginning. So funny, I've been looking at those silly cocoa pods and never made the connection. Too funny!
