La Malquerida, capitulo 98. 01/12/15.

Hunky Hector doesn't understand how Ulises is going to allow the love of his life to marry another. You will regret not trying to do more. I don't want to be all up in your business but I see myself in you. I allowed the love of my life to go off with another man and I have regretted it since. It's better to lose your pride for love then your love for pride.

Acacia tells Esteban that he now has to keep his distance. He says his only sin has been in loving her. She reminds him that is the biggest of sins. What we have done is wrong, but I am willing to do anything so that you go away. He only wants her happiness and says he will leave her to get on with her wedding.

Juliana calls Ale a hypocrite. She acted all sweet and innocent when in reality she lead a sinful life. But she is going to hear from me and turns on her heel to seek out Ale. German pulls her back and tells mommy dearest that he will not allow her to offend Ale. She suffered horrific things in the hands of Danilo and I will not allow you to speak ill of her again. Juliana shouts back that Ale is a low class woman who sold herself. German throws in back in her face that the only woman that he knows who has sold herself is you. This gets him a slap from mama. German reminds mommy dearest that she married Norberto for money while Ale was obligated too. So who is worse? She can't believe he is saying this to her. I am your mother! As more time goes by, I get more ashamed of that fact replies German. All I know is that Ale is the most wonderful and purest woman I know. He walks off and leaves his cellphone. Ale comes out of hiding and is smiling.

Manuel tells Norberto that he is nervous. He hopes Esteban doesn't cause any problems tonight. Norberto says Esteban will get over it. He notices a strong odor of alcohol and cigarettes from Manuel and tells him to run to the car and put on some cologne. As Manuel runs off to the car, he runs into Rubio. He tells Manuel that he knows the baby Luisa is expecting is his. Manuel is stunned at the news. Then becomes an a$$ and says if this is Luisa's game, I am not playing. Rubio pulls out his machete and threatens to end Manuel's life just like he ended Luisa's. Perhaps instead I should tell the truth to Acacia and her family instead.

Ale points out to Acacia that Cris deserves a man that truly loves her. In typical Acacia fashion, she turns the conversation to her feelings and says she once had a man in her life like that. Ale asks if she is sure she wants to get married tomorrow. The feeling I have for Manuel are different but we know each other so well and get along great.

Manuel warns Rubio not to say a word and throws a punch. No one will believe a drunk like you. He storms off and Rubio says not before you die creep. The capataz overhears this.

Esteban comes in and apologizes for his tardiness. He wants to give a toast to the happy couple. Acacia says not before Manuel arrives.

Ulises comes to pay Acacia a visit but is detained by Rubio. He pulls out his machete and Esteban walks up asking what is Ulises doing here?

Manuel comes into the kitchen and asks Luisa why she lied to him. Rubio tells me you are still pregnant. What did you want? To wait until now to ruin my wedding?

Ulises tells Esteban that he has to talk to Acacia. Esteban orders Rubio to get security. How dare you come here and try to ruin this family gathering in celebration of Acacia's wedding tomorrow? Ulises refuses to leave until he speaks to her. Esteban tells him that she wants nothing to do with him which is why she married Manuel. Ulises doesn't think they have married yet but Esteban informs him they have civilly. Tomorrow is the church wedding. Did you not know that? Well then I am glad to give you the good news. Now leave. Ulises storms out. Esteban yells at security for allowing Ulises in. The security team has no idea how he entered without them knowing. Now that Ulises knows about the wedding who knows what he will try and do replies Esteban.

Luisa and Manuel go into her room to argue further. She points out that she never told him she aborted the baby. Just that he didn't have to worry about the baby anymore. How can I not worry if that baby is going to be born yells Manuel. She tells him to keep following his plans. This baby is mine. Only Arturo, Ale and Rubio know this baby is yours and they will not tell anyone. So do what you have always wanted to do and marry Acacia. Seriously do it. I am going to marry Arturo and he is willing to be a father to my baby. Even knowing it's mine asks Manuel. That's right replies Luisa. Manuel swears he never meant to do her harm. I have been a fool to allow myself to be influenced by my parents. She tells him to continue on with his life. She will not destroy her best friend's wedding day. Manuel, with tears in his eyes, says if she ever needs anything...but she tells him to forget it. Pretend this child doesn't exist. You have always believed it so. He tells her she is very brave. No matter what happened, he always cared for her as his best friend. I did feel bad thinking that child....thank you. He hugs her. She hugs him back. He thanks her for not aborting the baby and she thanks him for telling her all this. She tells him he has to go. They are waiting for him. He says he can't marry like this. What if the day after tomorrow Acacia finds out? And if that baby looked like me? This baby already has a father that loves him replies Luisa. Manuel asks her to forgive him and hopes she will be happy with Arturo.

Esteban comes back into the living room all flustered. Norberto notices and asks if everything is okay. Esteban just says he was fixing things with security. Rosa comes in saying that the Lady Ale is not well and is resting this evening. Juliana makes a snide remark about the “lady” part. Acacia goes to see how she's doing and Esteban asks her to call Manuel and see what the hold up is. JC is not happy with Manuel's lateness.

Acacia goes to see Ale and asks if a doctor needs to be called. Ale says Juliana knows the truth and she doesn't want to see her. Acacia gets a text from Manuel. He prefers not to do to dinner and deal with Esteban tonight. Just remember that I love you and you are the most important thing to me. Acacia thinks it's for the best. She doesn't want anymore problems with Esteban but doesn't think anyone will understand.

Manuel walks out the hacienda and Ulises follows. Rubio watches.

Juliana is calling Manuel asking where he's at. Esteban tells Norberto that Manuel is being disrespectful making them all wait for him. Acacia comes in and says Manuel will not be making it tonight. It's her fault since she told him Esteban is not taking the news well about the wedding. Esteban says not to justify Manuel's behavior tonight. This was an informal dinner anyway replies Acacia. It was just for all of us to talk especially to you Esteban and my mother.

Ulises congratulates Manuel for getting what he always wanted. Manuel is not in agreement. He finally realizes he doesn't deserve Acacia. You hurt her greatly but it wasn’t your fault. You had the opportunity to get back with her and never did. She told me. Perhaps she was wrong and should have stayed with you. She's my wife but I am not at her level. I don't deserve her. Rubio is still eavesdropping.

Luisa finds out from Rosa that Manuel never showed up.

Juliana and Norberto try to reason with Manuel. Norberto tells him not to worry if Luisa says she will not spill the frijoles about the baby. Manuel doesn't want his child to go through the same thing German went through. Norberto tells him to forget about that. It's not like you are going to marry Luisa. No, but you saw how German suffered replies Manuel. Norberto understands Manuel's dilemma and thinks they can do something down the line. But there is no solution at this time. Juliana advises Manuel to marry Acacia and Luisa marry Arturo and everyone will be happy. The parents leave and Manuel calls and leaves German a message. He says Luisa did not abort the baby and he's happy he didn't kill his child. I promised Acacia I would change and for that reason I am going to lose her. I am going to talk to her now and tell her the truth.

Acacia goes to pay her late father a visit. She is sure that he is happy she will be marrying Manuel. I know you cared for him just as much as my mother did. Just seeing how wonderful he has been to me makes me care for him even more. I know our life will be great together. I still have to resolve things with Esteban. Please forgive me. I have committed a huge sin. Help me because my mother can never know what happened.

Esteban and Rubio are drinking together. Esteban can't allow Acacia to marry Manuel. Just thinking about it breaks him in two. Rubio wonders what happened. He had her eating out of his hand. Esteban doesn't know but can't image her with another. Especially Norberto's son. Rubio almost spills the frijoles about Luisa's baby when they hear a noise. They pick up their machetes ready to do battle.

Norberto is getting ready as Juliana walks in all seductively. He comments on how wonderful she looks. She asks him if he knows where Manuel is? He didn't sleep here last night.

Esteban is looking at a picture of Acacia when Cris walks in and asks why hasn't he gotten ready? Esteban makes an excuse about getting work finished. Cris reminds him today is a special day. Work can wait until tomorrow. He agrees and doesn't want her upset with him anymore. Today is a special day for Acacia and for you. Cris tells him he has no idea how difficult it is to let her little girl go. He understands how hard it is to let something you love go. Even though Acacia is a woman, I still see her as my little girl says Cris. It's hard for me to let her go. Everything must go well today. Nothing can ruin her happiness. He promises to behave himself. She says now that Acacia is leaving, she hopes to resume their life together forever.

Ulises tells Hunky Hector about Manuel's strange behavior last night. He wants to seek him out and explain what he meant last night.

Acacia is all dressed in her wedding attire and looking radiant. Rosa comes running in crying. She says they found Manuel dead.

German is picking up Lizzy when he gets a call. It's Norberto who says Manuel has disappeared.

Acacia is running down the hall and runs into Esteban. He asks her what is wrong. She ignores him and runs off. He follows with Cris close behind.

Out in the fields Acacia is running, shouting for Manuel. Esteban is close behind. She sees a few workers in a circle. She walks up and one of them tells her not to get close. She ignores them and Esteban tries to pull her away. She tells him to let her go. She walks up to Manuel and falls to the ground crying. Esteban covers up the dead body as we see Acacia has blood on her hands. He orders the workers to leave. He tries to pull her away but she fights him then faints suddenly. We see a bloody hand that belongs to Manuel.

Ulises goes to see Manuel and finds out from the priest that the bride and groom have not shown up. Ulises smiles.

Esteban carries a bloody Acacia into her room and lays her on the bed. He tries to wake her up. She finally does and slaps him. You killed him! Murder! He tells her to calm down. Cris comes in and offers comfort.

Ulises is wondering what is going on. Do you think Manuel broke it off? Or she could have replies Arturo. The priest comes out and says the groom's mother called and they are running late. He leaves to inform the guests.

Esteban tells Rubio that the police said not to move the body. He doesn't want anyone else to see it. You saw how Cris and Acacia reacted. Of course not smiles Rubio. Not in the condition they left him in. They killed him with a lot of rage says Esteban. The capataz comes up and Esteban asks if the workers saw anything. The capataz says nothing was seen. He only saw Ulises and Rubio last night walking around. Esteban looks at Rubio and tells the capataz to let him know when the police arrive. Esteban asks if Rubio is the one that did it?

Norberto tells German that everyone is looking for Manuel but he's no where to be found. German says Manuel left him some strange messages last night. Before German could say what the messages where, JC shows up to deliver the bad news. They break down and Norberto wants to know who did it.

Andres calls Arturo to let him know that Manuel was murdered. He tells Ulises who thinks it could have been Danilo. There could be no other reason. This is going to be so difficult for Acacia. Arturo reminds him that it will also be for German. Ulises admits he didn't care for Manuel but would never have wished this to happen to him. Arturo decides to go and see Luisa. He's worried about her and the baby.

Ale tells Acacia she needs to calm down. Acacia can't believe she will never see Manuel again. We were going to start a new life together. I will never hear his jokes again. It's my fault they killed him. I am sure it was Esteban. Ale doesn't think so. Acacia says Esteban is the only wanted that hated him so much. He didn't want her to marry Manuel. Ale doesn't think that Esteban is capable of murder. Perhaps they tried to rob him. In here asks Acacia. Every place is watched. Poor Manuel. The only thing he wanted was for us to be together.

Rubio asks Luisa how can she think he would do something like that? She points out that he was really upset last night and has always hated Manuel. I wanted to but I didn't shouts Rubio. Swear it then says Luisa. She pushes and hits him repeatedly telling him to swear to her he didn't do it. He would have like to take Manuel's life with his own hands but didn't. If it makes her feel better, he swears he didn't do it. He tells her to take something so she won't become ill or the baby. She asks what happened then? I don't know he replies. I was angry for what he did to you. I said things I shouldn't. But I would never hurt someone. The capataz comes in and says the police have arrived. Rubio takes Luisa by the hand and swears again he didn't do it. Arturo comes in and Luisa cries in his arms.

German comes to see how Acacia is doing. Ale says she feel asleep. When she found out, she can to the fields....She says she feels awful and would do anything not to see him suffer. They hug and he asks why. Why did they kill my brother? Lizzy sees them hugging.

Norberto is drinking and Juliana is crying at Cris's house. Norberto says he can't drink anymore. He has to do something. He sees Esteban and pulls him by the collar. The murder was done at your hacienda. Help me find the murder so that I can kill him with my own hands he shouts. Cris says they all want to find out who did it but the police will have to bring the murderer to justice. Norberto says this is something he has to do. Esteban says he understands but Cris is right. This has to go through the police. Norberto says he's in despair.

Ale says she really feels awful for what happened. Manuel was so young and to happen on his wedding day. Why asks German. Ale wishes she could tell him something so that he can calm down but doesn't know what to say. He says the most important thing is that she is with him. Lizzy is still eavesdropping. Ale knows how it feels to lose a brother. But I was able to live with it when I found someone to live for. German begs her not to leave him alone. Lizzy breaks down as Ale and German stare into each others eyes.

Cris wants to take Juliana to rest in her room but she wont' hear it. She holds onto Norberto. She doesn't want anything. She wants to see her son and tell the police to lock up the murderer. JC wonders who could have done this. Norberto says Manuel didn't have any enemies. Esteban says the only one he had a problem with was Ulises. Cris defends Ulises and says he couldn't have done something like this. Esteban says Ulises was here last night. Norberto believes it was Ulises who killed his son. Cris doesn't think so and JC agrees. We can't accuse someone without proof. Cris shouts out that it couldn't have been Ulises. Esteban says they had to run off Ulises last night because he insisted on talking to Acacia. Then security told me that he returned again and they had to run him off again. Juliana now thinks it was Ulises and wants them to call the police. Cris says it wasn't him. Acacia wanted to get back with Ulises but he didn't want too. Norberto doesn't listen and says he's going to talk to the police. Esteban offers to accompany him. Cris stops him and says they can't just accuse that poor boy. He ignores her and leaves. German comes up and asks what's going on? Cris fills him in.

Lizzy goes into the kitchen crying. She runs into Luisa and admits it hurt her seeing German with Ale. It's so obvious....Luisa says it's natural that Ale wants to offer comfort but don't worry, he's engaged to you. He needs comfort from everyone now, especially you. So go with him.

Norberto asks the police when are they going to release his son and finds out later on that day. He wants to make sure they investigate Ulises and the policeman promises to do that. Norberto goes off to speak to his police contact. Esteban and Rubio are left alone. Rubio asks if he believes Ulises really did it? Who else could it have been replies Esteban. Rubio points out that Esteban was in a bad place last night. I even thought....but Esteban grabs him and tells him to zip it. Don’t' say stupid things. Rubio says he didn't see Esteban's machete where he always puts it.

Acacia comes out of her room and tells Norberto and Juliana that she feels such anguish. She hugs German. He promises to look after her. Juliana says her son died because of Ulises. He killed our son. Acacia says that's not true. What proof do you have? Norberto can't believe she would defend him. Cris tells them all to calm down. She also doesn't believe he did it. Ale wonders why Manuel came over after dinner was done last night? German spills the frijoles and says he came over to tell you that Luisa is expecting his child.

Rubio follows Esteban and asks him where he left his machete. Esteban says he doesn't know. Rubio only asks because he's sure the police will ask. Esteban pushes Rubio and says there is no reason to tell the police everything you know. The only one here at fault is Ulises. Of course replies Rubio. He had motive since he is in love with Acacia. But he with a machete? Unless he stole yours?

Cris asks Norberto and Juliana if they knew about the child Luisa is expecting? Of course not says Juliana. Norberto says they did. German tells Acacia that is why Manuel so acting so strange last night. He came to tell you the truth. He couldn't anymore with the secret. Acacia says the baby is Arturo's. They both told me so. Luisa comes up and admits the truth. Juliana places the blame on Luisa. If only she had done what they told her to do, Manuel would never have left the house last night. Cris pulls her off Luisa and wonders what they asked her to do? Luisa is about to tell the truth but Juliana silently tells her not to. So Luisa lies and says they asked her to raise the child alone. Acacia asks Luisa why didn't she tell her that she was having Manuel's baby? Luisa doesn't answer and Acacia walks off. Cris goes to follow but Luisa stops her. She wants to explain to Acacia herself and leaves. Juliana can't believe Cris is allowing Luisa to tell her what to do. Cris says they have to talk it out amongst themselves and forces her into the kitchen.

It's the viewing and they are all praying for Manuel. Rubio comes in to pay his respects and Juliana lights into him. How dare you tell my son what he didn't have to know? Cris says this is not the time. Juliana says because of Rubio, my son went out at night. All for what? To protect that girl. It's your fault that they murdered my son.

Andres gets onto Arturo for not disclosing the truth about the baby. Andres wonders what will happen once his mother finds out that baby is Manuel's and not his. Too late! Carmen comes in and asks what did he say? How is Luisa's baby not yours?

Cris tells Juliana that Rubio nor Luisa are at fault for what happened to Manuel. She begs Juliana not to upset Luisa anymore. She must remain calm for her well-being and her baby's. Think that the baby is carrying your blood. It's all you have left of Manuel.

Acacia tells Manuel that she will always carry him in her heart. You were always my friend and confidant. Then my husband. You tried to save me without asking questions or asking for anything in return. And I couldn't do anything to protect you. Esteban is behind her staring. Acacia feels him behind her and looks at him. She tells Manuel that whoever did this to him also did it to her. Sooner or later they will pay. RIP.

Carmen says that baby is not at fault for anything. Although being the child of Manuel's....Ulises tells her she's overreacting. Arturo says they have to talk. She needs to respect his decision and Luisa's as well. Knock on the door and it's the policeman. He comes looking for Ulises to arrest him for the murder of Manuel.

Manana: Esteban tells Acacia he will do this to anyone that gets close to her; Ulises sits in prison.

Comments:
great recap, Gloria! Thanks for getting it done so quickly.

At first, not understanding what was said, I thought Manuel commited suicide. Then I thought it was Rubio, but now I think it is Estaban. I can't wait for tonight's episode.

Ann-NYC

I almost started crying during Luisa and Manuel's "reconciliation" scene. Then I watched YNCELH's 96th chapter and just felt plain sad.

Has anyone here ever cried due to any of the novelas (whether it was because it was a bad show or depressing one?) I think it was Vivi who said she cried at PSMA once.

Thanks, Gloria. I have not had a chance to watch the episode yet, but I appreciate your speedy quick recap. I will be back later.

Yikes...poor Uli is the scapegoat again. The poor guy is always blamed , and he is always innocent.

I wonder when Dan will make an appearance. With only 4 episodes left, it has to be soon.

I am so tired of Juliana's ranting and raving. Shut it , Juliana. You are a dreadful person.

Esteghoul is disgusting. Where is his anvil ?

Poor old Uli in jail again and Este admits to Acacia that he killed Manolo. WOW. Wait till she finds out about her Father.

Wow! Gloria, this was a magnificent recap. You captured all the rich details of a very intense episode. Thank you.

I watched these episodes Sunday evening, before Uni did an internet sweep, and I had trouble getting to sleep afterwards. The sight of Acacia bloody in her wedding dress and Manuel's bloody hand were hard to get out of my head.

Because this happened over two episodes, they really built the suspense and played with the audience about who could have done it, Rubio or Este. Even in this chopped version, they kept some of that suspends. The writers really brought it, and so did the actors. Bravo, everyone.

Corazon, I am brought to tears many times by excellent moving tn scenes.

By the way, Uni managed to keep much of what happened in the 2 episodes. I noticed that they had limited commercials. They shortened a number of conversations, but we were able to get the gist from what they showed. They didn't show:
-Norb meeting Juli Jr. and Perla in the cantina and talking about the wedding. Julie jr would love to walk down the aisle in white, but knows she can't because of her past. Born says she can because she's a good person, and there are some who walk down the aisle in white who have black souls, clearly talking about Juli. He says he cares about Jr and that she really understands him.
-Memo is out on bail, and Hector takes him to meet Perla. He will be kept somewhere safe until Dan is caught. Then he will go to jail, under hopefully a reduced sentence. Perla vows her love and to wait for him.
-The scene after the baby truth is revealed where the three girls talk was cut. Acacia asks why Luisa and Ale didn't tell her. Luisa tells Acacia that Manuel at the end regretted what he did, and this gives Acacia a bit of peace of mind.
-After Este takes passed out Acacia away, Cris also sees and cries over Manuel's body.
-Acacia's scene with the body was trimmed, which is a shame because Ariadne knocked it out of the park in that scene. That scene should be submitted for awards consideration.
-The German Ale scene went on for a bit longer, but it should be noted that Ale points out to German that Lizzy is also here to support him. He has a very hard time letting go of Ale's hand as they part.

I saw the final weeks of this novela when they aired in Mexico. These few episodes really show Televisa at their best - an hoary style, perhaps, but still enormously effective when it works.

A lightbulb seemed to go off in Juli's head when Cris pointed out that Luisa's baby is all they have left of Manuel. This baby's importance grows with each episode. The baby will be the only Palacios by blood. That's bound to really affect Norb who's so destroyed by Manuel's death.

Bravo, Gloria! Your recap was mesmerizing and pure delight. You managed to recount every detail of this chopped salad of an episode perfectly.

"In typical Acacia fashion, she turns the conversation to her feelings and says she once had a man in her life like that", "It's better to lose your pride for love then your love for pride" and "Acacia is all dressed in her wedding attire and looking radiant" were among many favorites.

"The security team has no idea how he entered without them knowing". Really? This does not portend well. Will Danilo not have the same easy access?

Some very interesting, sad and pathetic insights into our not so beloved characters:

"It's not like you are going to marry Luisa. No, but you saw how German suffered replies Manuel". A clear picture of Manuel's mind and heart. Capable of emotion and caring in a limited fashion but weak to the core. I did tear up here Corazon, Brandon Peniche did an amazing job here. And yes, I've cried loudly and often, several times here, (mostly at Ale's scenes).

"Juliana advises Manuel to marry Acacia and Luisa marry Arturo and everyone will be happy". Yes, her eyes are never far from the prize. Money. Power. Did she not think (as Cris pointed out), Luisa's child is the only remaining part of Manuel? How could she treat Luisa so cruelly.

"I have committed a huge sin. Help me because my mother can never know what happened". Finally, Acacia admits what she did. Yet she has no intention of confessing to her mother. I suspect poor, dead Alonso will be more forgiving than flesh and blood Cris.

"I don't know he replies. I was angry for what he did to you. I said things I shouldn't. But I would never hurt someone". I believe all of these words are true. I do not believe Rubio killed Manuel. He wanted to, he rejoiced in it, but he did not wield the machete.

"Lizzy breaks down as Ale and German stare into each others eyes". I hope your heart follows what your eyes have seen. German will never love you the way he loves Ale.

"Luisa says it's natural that Ale wants to offer comfort but don't worry, he's engaged to you". Ale caliber comfort and advice to Lizzy from our Luisa.

Diana

Vivi, thank you for adding the details from the cut scenes. So Memo and Perla are together?

I did mean to mention Ariadne as well as Brandon. She was magnificent.

Even though we had a Danilo free episode, murder and mayhem ensued.

Wouldn't it be justice if Norberto left Juli for Juli Jr.? I suspect jail time is in his future but I think she will wait for him. Perhaps the fate some of us thought Acacia would have, being alone will happen to Juli.

So, who killed Manuel? I'm torn. Este looked so inscrutable. I'm leaning toward the long arm of Danilo, but I'm not counting Este out.

Poor Uli. It always comes down to him, doesn't it?

Diana

Diana- Perla and Memo were only together briefly. For the operation and for his safety, he has to be kept somewhere else and in secret. Hector pulled some strings so that they could have some time together.

Yes, poor Uli really seems to get blamed for everything. The police should know better by now, especially since it always seems to be the Palacios making the accusations-- Manuel's beat down; the real estate fraud; and now murder.

I liked how Art immediately knew he had to go care for Luisa after getting the news about Manuel, and said MY baby when speaking of the baby.

I hate Este even more for the cruel, manipulative way he seized on the sorrow and heartbreak to announce that Uli was there.

Norberto needed little prodding, he was so immersed in grief.

So, Este effectively killed 2 birds with one stone, so to speak. Manuel and Uli.

Even though the previews show Uli in jail, I am hoping the police agree with you Vivi and that Uli has been framed one too many times.

Once everyone is spoken with, it would seem Rubio would be a prime suspect. Will he continue to go free while Uli languishes in jail?

Diana

This is awesome gloria. A shout out to you Vivi for the cut scenes.

Bang up job by these actors and what a story.

Little details like when Norberto sniffed Manuel and told him he reeked of alcohol and cigarettes. The way GG Cantu did that, totally believable, and that one suggestion set off the chain of events.

I think Esteban did it but how and when, we didn't see what went down as Rubio and Esteban headed out after hearing something. However, Danny was ominously missing from these episodes.

Ale is saintly.

Only thing I've struggled with is Acacia's feeling for Manuel. I know he was her bestie but as bestie would have expected she knew the scoundrel, too.

Oh, dear Gloria, a MILLION thank yous for such a marvelously detailed and well written recap!

There is always such immense sadness when the realization of things that come late in a person's life. So many things told last night and so many things coming so late.

Yes, CS, I have cried many times in these TN. Just reading Gloria's so well written recap brought me to tears. I will have to wait to see the episode tonight on Hulu Plus. I just can't stay awake as I have such an early wake up call.

Vivi in DC, Thank you for having seen the episodes over the weekend and for letting us know about so many little details that matter. How I wish I could have seen Acacia's reaction to Manuel.

I know this is not the first time Univision has done this to us, but Vivi, this time, it has really upset me that we have been ROBBED of watching an excellent story with excellent acting. Univision throws us the trash they have done with La Gata, but cut this to shreds.

I realize that only Jane can make such a decision, but I would like consideration of our recappers of NOT recapping Univision's new TN. This site with its marvelously talented writers provides Univision a HUGE service. More and more viewers come to Uni through this portal. I know this is how I came to learn about the TN and other things on Univision.

Univision should be deprived of an audience for this TN. There is so very little we can do when Uni slaps us in the face the way they have done to Viewerville this go around, but I am asking you and Jane and those of you who make decisions about what is recapped here to consider not recapping this new Sergio Goyri TN.

Let it languish for a while. Let it just sit there. It is clear that they read what we say. Univision clearly has no sense of professionalism. Why provide them with the audience they do not deserve?

That's how I feel this morning. Even if you, Vivi, feel this is an out of line request, I can still state how upset I remain at what has been done to such a moving story with such excellent acting.

What if they had done a chop up job on Downton Abbey? Would the viewers take it sitting down? I dare say not.

Fatima

Fatima- I am in total agreement with your outrage at Univision. I have no words.

But I will say that we recappers recap for you guys, not for Uni. As long as there are English Speakers/Spanish Learners/Telenovela Lovers watching, and there is a need and an interest, folks on this blog will jump in to recap, and we'll get deep satisfaction from doing it. You know what I mean, since you have recapped too.

I hope Gloria gets back to see the spam and deletes it.

RG- I just saw your list of Best and Worst Telenovelas of 2014. For anyone else interested, here it is: http://www.welovesoaps.net/2015/01/telenovela-watch-best-and-worst-of-2014.html#more

Do not despair. Uli has a powerful lawyer Hector in his corner. I like the idea of Norb leaving Juli for Juli Jr....poetic justice.

Susanlynn- ITA. If Hector can get Memo out on bail, he sure as heck can get Uli out from under these flimsy accusations. Even Rubio scoffed at the idea of Uli using a machete to chop someone up.

Vivi, thanks in advance for posting the page for me tonight for my recap.

While I am anxious to see what transpires, I am riddled with anxiety (more so than usual :)) with this faced paced, sure to be sliced and diced fragment of two episodes.

Sigh...

Diana

Been in the hospital and couldn't comment before but I too hate the chop job while dreck like LG just keeps rolling along. It occurred to me that with the initial bad ratings in Mexico the writers went in and changed the character of Estebastard and turned him into Alonzo's killer. Initially it seemed clear that Norbie had done the deed.

Acacia deserves to be left in the end but probably won't be but I sure don't see how the mother daughter relationship can survive. Here's hoping Hector and Cris walk of into the sunset together.

Decie Girl- Oh no! I hope you are ok.

Este was always going to be the killer. He was the killer in the source play.

Gloria---You hit the jackpot. What
a difference a day makes. Is it possible to put more drama into a one hour show than we got last night? I don't think so, it's just impossible. Gloria, you should be proud. What a job you did for us, so superb and complete
terrific.

So tragic last night but through all of that tragedy there was at least one good thing---We didn't have to look at DevilDan.

I fired off a angry email to Univision for Friday's cuts. Another one goes to them today. They must be tired of me by now. I don't care what they are doing is just wrong.

Wow! Mommy dearest got an earful from her son German. Juliana can't believe he is saying this to her. I am your mother! German answers--As time goes by, I get more ashamed of that fact. YEAH German. Juli needed that.

I'm glad that the Luisa/Manuel talk ended well. They came together with a big understanding.

I couldn't help but notice that through a good part of the show, Esteban just stood there in the background with that stupid blank
look on his face. He sure has that blank goofy stare perfected.

I knew that the minute German and Alejandra hugged Lizzy would come around the corner. Is the writing on the wall?

A lot of machete waiving last night. I felt Manuel was in grave danger. I mean that this is/was a mirage that was never meant to be or was going to happen. So who did the deed? My first thought was Rubio. He had a reason and also Esteban was there to egg him on. Danilo? Did Este actually confess the murder to Acacia? Now that's the way to get her in his arms. NOT!

Does the capataz hold a big clue in Manuel's murder? He overheard Rubio and Este talking.

Susanlynn---Another new name Esteghoul.

Juliana can't believe that Cris would let Luisa (that servant girl) tell her what to do. Three cheers for Luisa I say.

Can't wait for tonight.
the gringo

Thank you Gloria and Vivi. There were a couple other scenes cut.

-After the 3 girls leave to Ack's room to talk, Andres arrives and tells German how sorry he is and they hug. Norbie and German lock eyes during this hug. After the scene with the girls it goes back to German/Norbie/Andres. Norbie points out that at least German has his father (Andres) while he now has nothing. Andres tells Norbie that he (Norbie) still has German. German hugs Norbie.
-After Juli insults Luisa and Rubio at the viewing, German takes Luisa to her room to rest and calm down. He thanks her for having the courage to keep her child and he tells her that he's happy that a child of Manuel exists and that it won't have a better father than Arturo. Luisa cries and German hugs her.
-After JC breaks the news to Norbie, Juli, and German. Andres goes to see Acacia then goes to see Luisa (it is shown he is with her when he calls Art).

I think that's it. RIP Manuel. I think Esteban killed him. What was that noise he and Rubio heard while they were talking? Although technically Rubio also had a motive I don't think he did it. I actually don't think it was Dan. I would hope the security at the ranch wasn't lax. It happened on the grounds/lands of the hacienda so Dan shouldnt have been able to get in.

I must that the actress playing Lizzie doesn't know how to fake cry. Lizzie needs to open her eyes and see that her fiancé loves another.

TF- Thanks for providing more of the cuts. Yep, there were quite a lot of good scenes of people connecting with one another and comforting one another. JC and Norb also had an emotional moment in the hallway of Benavente where JC comforts Norb who has fallen to his knees sobbing. Just really stellar work from this cast. Too bad Uni didn't feel it was worth showing.

Gringo- I thought it was good for Manuel, and especially Luisa, for them to have that closure before he was killed. It was an honest conversation, and Manuel's gratitude about the baby not being aborted was just what Luisa needed. Manuel also got the chance to be honest with Ulises. It's a shame they were never able to recapture the friendship they once had before Manuel was killed.

To answer the question about whether I cry when I watch the novelas...no...because I have cried enough over people and animals in my real life. No tears from me for novela characters. Even in real life, I find that in recent years, instead of crying,I get mad . Maybe I am all out of tears.

Thank you for the extra, meaningful details TF.

I'm glad Manuel gave Luisa a bit of comfort about their child before he died.

The more I think about the bloody corpse (thankfully we were spared all but the bloody hand), the more I think Este did it. If it had been under Dan's orders, wouldn't they just have shot him? Hacking someone to pieces showed true hatred.

Susanlynn, you have shed your share of tears for those near and dear. Anger is a defense mechanism and also, I believe for self preservation - for yourself and those you love. Hugs.

Diana

Amazing recap, Gloria. Things were happening so fast and furious last night, and the captions were hopeless, so your recap is a life-saver.

Decie girl: Did Norberto ever actually say he killed Alonso, or was it just hinted at as a red herring?

Fatima – I totally get your desire to show Univision what’s what and express viewer outrage. But we at Caray are a small demographic. I live in the Los Angeles area, and when the L.A. Times used to run TV ratings for just the L.A. area, the top Univision telenovela was consistently the number one show. The top Univision novela is usually rated down in the 50s in the national ratings, but still, a HUGE number of people watch these things, and we language-learners probably represent a very small percentage of the viewership.

I’m wondering if the chopping is mentioned anywhere in the Spanish-language press. Since Univision’s 3 nightly telenovelas are the biggest thing in Spanish-language TV here in the U.S., you’d think the chopping would have made the papers. If a leading English-language show (Downton Abbey was mentioned) was treated like this, it would be in the paper along with the viewer reaction. I don’t see any Spanish-language press (except TV y Novelas, which Univision owns and calling it “press” is generous). Do any of you?

It seems to me that writing to influential Spanish-language press would be a good approach. Also, there is the option of writing to the advertisers who pay for these shows, an option that protesters have taken for other causes and which has proved effective.

Corazon Salvaje – sometimes the novelas get me a little choked up, but the one scene that just slayed me was in the original (Columbian) Betty la Fea when Betty finds out the game the fellows are playing on her, and she ends up in the fetal position, sobbing, in the ladies’ room.

You're welcome Vivi. Yeah I wish Uni hadn't cut anything from this episode especially. The scene with German and Luisa that was cut is really sweet. Although Gloria didn't note it in the recap when Cris is telling Juli to leave Luisa alone because she needs to be calm for her baby you can see German hugging Luisa in the background (in the kitchen).

As Diana said, I just knew Esteban would accuse Ulises of killing Manuel and unfortunately Norbie and Juli agree.

I am glad Manuel went to talk Luisa. I knew something was going to happen when German left his phone on the table while talking to Juli. Bravo to him for defending Ale. He looked so mad. He didn't even care Juli slapped him. I loved when he said "la que se ha vendido aquí eres tu!" and "cada vez me averguenzo más de ello". Brilliant acting there. I'm glad Ale was eavesdropping. I even tweeted "See Ale...your man still loves you".

I don't think Manuel had a complete about face but was killed before he changed his mind. The real Manuel went after Luisa in the kitchen and after Rubio outside.

Love him, but despite his grief and trashy bride, Norberto is not a good guy.

Really Hector, telling Uli to go after the woman he loves despite already marrying Manuel, what should he do, kill the guy? And just what did you not do when you lost Cris to Alonso and missed out again to Esteban? Hector has been in the friendzone for years and should be the last to offer relationship advise.

Vivi – when you mentioned an internet sweep… you mean Univision goes and pulls all the youtubes and so forth? If so, they REALLY don’t want us to see the full end episodes!

Correction: TV y Novelas is owned by Televisa, not Univision. Brain glitch!

Speaking of hacking with a machete....Vivi and TF..thanks so much for filling in the scenes that Uno cut out.

When they chopped the hell out of Reina de Corazones, at least they eliminated the title sequence each night. I wish they'd do that here and give us some more scenes. Of course, in Reina they were cramming THREE episodes into one. I remember one night seeing two people who'd just been friends of friends suddenly standing in front of a judge getting married. Huh? How'd that happen? Well, thanks to the fabulous Caray recappers, I found out.

Maggie- Yes. When I went back to the YouTube videos they said that had been pulled by Univision for copyright issues. Uni does this regularly, usually with hit shows. The fact that they waited until the last week on this tn, when THEY aren't giving us the real episodes, is just ridiculous.

Tofie- Neither Hector nor Uli knew at that time that Acacia had already married civilly. That's why it was such a shock to Uli when Este told him.

Maggie,

Norbie has never said he's the one who killed Alonso. Esteban did though. In an episode he goes to Al's tomb and says something to the effect of "falling in love with your daughter is my punishment for killing you". So clearly the fact that he killed Al and may have killed Manuel shows he wants Cris and Acacia to be his and no one else's,

Vivi,

I found another YT account with the episodes. The user is "MiMalqueridaRT" the suspended account was "MiMalquerida" so hopefully the other account won't be terminated.

Tofie- Manuel was Manuel up to the end. I think telling Norb and Juli that he had no intention of marrying Luisa was honest and was right. He didn't love Luisa, not in that way-- just as a friend. And he told her that. But, we had also seen that almost from the moment he thought she had the abortion, he was having all kinds of regrets about it. So I think he was totally honest in telling Luisa he was glad she didn't abort the baby-- even though he knew the fallout from the truth would likely end his marriage to Acacia. And of course, he needed to get more liquor in him before he could work up the courage to tell Acacia himself, but was cut down before he got the chance. The fact that he was going to do it, with no prodding from anyone, says he had a conscience.

Norb as the killer was a total red herring, and bravo to the writers. The audience never saw Norb do it. Norb never said he did it. Juli at one point asks Norb if he did it, and he says nothing, just looks shifty. But Norb always looks shifty, and we know from Este's rant to Al's tomb that Norb did a lot of underhanded things to try to destroy Al financially, which is why he was in such bad financial straights when he died.

OOH! Thanks TF. Let's hope UNI doesn't get to this one.

You're right about Manuel, Vivi. When Manuel told German about Luisa he said he felt like "el peor de los hombres" and even German told Luisa in that cut scene in this episode that Manuel was regretful and she responds with "He told me he was". And good for him for wanting to tell Acacia the truth. He was a good guy in the end despite the mistakes he made.

You're welcome Vivi. I hope Uni doesn't have that one terminated.

What an amazing recap Gloria! Thank you. Interesting how Ack can't even change into black mourning garb without looking sl_ty. Very important shot of Esteban standing right behind her as she's crying over Manuel. I'll put my money on Esteloco as the murderer. Not Danilo, not Rubio. We have a million clues plus his statement that he can't go on if Ack gets married. I still want THE truth about Ack & Esteban to come out before this TN ends. Looks like that might happen tonight. Eso espero.

Vivi, didn't Hector know Acacia was married in a civil ceremony? Thought she had said if JC wasn't going to escort her down the aisle for the church wedding, she would want him to do it. My chronology perhaps is off. Agree Uli didn't know.

Tofie- Hector ran into Acacia in town when she picked up her wedding dress for the cleaners. That was the first he was hearing that she was getting married at all. She never mentioned to him that she was already married civilly. That's when they had the little talk and she told him that she would have liked him to walk her down the aisle, if not JC.

Manuel knew the truth would eventually come out about him being the father of Luisa's child so I don't think it all conscience that made him decide to tell Acacia. I do believe he was ultimately relieved she had not aborted the child and sorry Luisa had been hurt by him and his parents and didn't deserve that. He was backed into a corner and no way out of paying the consequences of his actions. He didn't deserve to die. Acacia was also trying to avoid any consequences of her actions by marrying Manuel but with him dead she may not care. This slug fest between she and Esteban is brutal.

"This slug fest between she and Esteban is brutal."

So true! All kinds of collateral damage!

Vivi, thank for the detail of the conversation between Acacia and Hector.

The fight ain't over either and it is to the death.

Wow...great comments. I cannot believe that all must be unraveled in three nights. I will be very upset if vital information is not revealed..Alonso's murderer...the Este and Ack affair...Rubio's knowledge of so many dirty dealings

Hector, unknowingly, set Ulysses up to be accused of this murder, smh.

I just thought of something. I think the writers want us to keep guessing as to who killed Manuel because I'm pretty sure I remember Esteban straight up asking Rubio if he did it. It is possible that that was done to throw viewers off. However, I still say it was Esteban who did it.

You're right TF! Este did ask Rubio if he killed Manuel. But, it could have been to throw us off. They are doing a good job of that. Harruumph.

tofie, I agree - Manuel did not deserve to die.

Diana

I meant to mention before how beautiful the cinematography was in that scene where Acacia runs through the fields towards Manuel's body. Like it was shot from above. And then they changed it up in the scene where she wakes up and slaps and attacks Este, like an up close, hand held camera. Really effective for showing the grief and horror she was feeling.

I agree Diana. I know these TNs like the back of my hand lol. It did seem suspicious that Este asked Rubio that. Again, I believe it wasn't Rubio. I don't think he would go to such drastic measures, not even for Luisa. Although he doesn't really seem religious I think he knows it's a sin to kill.

Haven't had time to read the recap or the comments -- i want to take my time.

But I had to comment that Manuelo's death took me completely by surprise. I didn't see it coming! Wow!

Gloria,
Thanks for recapping this emotional and sad episode.

Vivi & TF, thanks for letting us know of the cut scenes too. I really appreciate knowing everything that happened. It just helps make the story more complete.

There is just so much going on, but also a lot to still be revealed. Does anyone know if Friday's episode is 2 hours? Just curious.

Manuel might not have been the most honest person, but he did not deserve to die. He was our sacrificial lamb, just like Refugio was in LQLVMR. I was glad to see him speak with Luisa. At least she knows that he regretted telling her to have an abortion. Even though it was late, the fact that Manuel was going to tell Acacia about Luisa's child shows that he is not like his parents.

I could not believe that Juliana was going to deny knowing about Luisa being pregnant with Manuel's baby. She deserves what German told her. And bravo to German for standing up for Ale. Lizzy needs to realize that German may love her, but is not in love with her. He is and will always be in love with Ale. Lizzy knows this, but she doesn't want to give him up, at least not yet. No spoiler, but I think Lizzy will eventually let German go.

More to say, but I have to go back to work.

Great comments everyone. Can't wait for tonight's epi.

Hasta Pronto!

Didnt Este tell Acacia that that (Manuels murder) would happen to anyone who tried to get close to her? That is a pretty plain admission in my mind.

Kirby- That was in the previews.

AuntyAnn- My tv schedule is showing that Friday's two hour finale will also be chopped into one hour. And for some reason, although my dvr was programmed to automatically record the show, it was not scheduled to record the last episode. Not sure what the glitch was, but check your dvrs in case you had the same issue.

Wow...I finally had a chance to watch this episode, and I have a few observations.
first, does anyone know what those stacks were in that field that Manuel was found in ? Second, Ack's reaction to the horror she saw was so real.I kept saying to myself ''Someone get her out of that bloodied gown.'' It made me think of Jackie Kennedy wearing that pinksuit after JFK was shot. I also thought that it was sweet when Ack's hand was on the casket and Norb put his hand over hers. Who would have imagined at the beginning of this novela that Nirb would turn out to be a better person than not only Juli but also este. Also, do people in Mexico always wear black to funerals ? Americans have become so casual in what they wear to funerals. I have discovered from my students that in some countries people wear white to funerals.

Susanlynn- There was a cut scene where Acacia finally wants to get out of the bloody gown. Ale and Elena are with her and she weeps and pulls at the gown, begging to be let out of it, as Ale and Elena calm her and unbuttoned the bodice. Quite moving.

Susanlynn, what imagery your remark about Jacqueline Kennedy evoked in my mind!

Yes Vivi, the scene you mentioned was done beautifully. Thank you for adding that Acacia wanted desperately to be out of the gown.

Diana

I am looking forward to reading the recap tomorrow and watching the episode tomorrow evening. It is hard to believe that this show is almost over.

Vivi..thanks for the information about the cut scene.

Diana...Here we go !!!

It's a real shame. Some of these cut scenes sound really good. I wish Uni would have let this story alone. I only hope I can find these scenes online.

Vivi, thanks for the info on the time. I will keep an eye on my DVR.

I think that in addition to emailing Uni, with our complaints, maybe it would be a good idea to try and get the word out to the media in Mexico. I know someone already mentioned it. Of course there is always a risk, but it might be worth it. Or maybe they know about the editing but don't care. I get the feeling that once Televisa sells the story to Univision, they (Televisa) can't do anything to stop Uni from editing a novela. At least that's how I think it works. Anyone know?

There is a scene tonight that I know of that I hope Uni doesn't cut! I'll comment what it is/was tomorrow in the recap whether or not they show it.

Gripping stuff! And all the characters have such brilliant names!
