La Malquerida #96, 1/8/2015: First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage…On Second Thought…

Mexico Episodes #104 and 105
Cut scenes are in italics.

Episode 104: Guess What, Ma…I’m Married!
After telling Ulises off, thinking he’s Esteban, through her shuttered windows, Acacia calls Manuel and tells him they have to do something to keep them (their families) from separating them. Outside, heartbroken Ulises is confronted by an armed guard who tells him he can’t be there without permission. (Dude. Had Uli been the real killer on the loose, Acacia would have been at the Pearly Gates by now!) Uli leaves.

The next day, Rubio is at the front desk at the police station, asking how he can see a prisoner. He balks at having to present and leave identification, and instead wanders off taking in the other folks around him. He spots Norberto, looking shady in shades, also pacing around.

Cris tells German that Ale is coming to live at the hacienda. He is fine with it. First, because it’s Cris’ house and she can do what she wants, and second because Ale will be surrounded by people who love her. Plus the guards are there to keep her safe. In any case, he’ll soon be moving into his apartment. Cris wants him to at least wait till they trap Dan, and stay under the protection of the hacienda. German will think about it. He requests that Cris not give Juliana all the details about what happened to Ale. Cris gets it, and won’t. They then talk about the craziness of Acacia and Manuel getting married. German also thinks it’s foolish and promises Cris he’ll talk to Manuel. Cris doesn’t want her opposition to ruin her relationship with Acacia, but German says Acacia adores Cris and that would never happen. Cris wants German to convince Manuel to at least wait a year.

Norb manages to get into see Perla and Julianita. He offers them money and demands that they be discreet and not mention his connection to them or Dan. He’s sure they will need money either on the inside or when they get out. Perla knows they have the power in this situation and reminds him of that. He softens his tone. He offers his protection, since they know Dan doesn’t play. He tells them to think about it, and leaves. J-nita is hurt. She thought he was there to help them and that he really cared about her. Perla calls her naïve. He’s like all the clients. Perla smiles and says, wait till he finds out he’s on video. J-nita freaks out to learn she’s on video servicing Norb.

Acacia and Manuel meet in town, and Manuel asks if she’s sure. She says, now more than ever, and they run off hand in hand as Rubio spots them. He’s distracted from following them by a call from Dan.

Uli and Ale talk about her move to the hacienda that day and Ale realizes something is wrong with Uli. He breaks the news that Acacia and Manuel are getting married. “What?!”

Dan says this is Rubio’s opportunity to demonstrate his loyalty. Rubio seems game, but just to drive the point home, Dan says what he’ll do to Rubio if he betrays him. Rubio taunts him about how he’s going to take out all the extra guards posted at Benavente by himself. Dan tells him to shut up and listen to his plan.

Acacia and Manuel smooch in front of the justice of the peace. Manuel says he’ll make her very happy and will prove it to her mama. Acacia says she doesn’t need anyone else but him. They hug. Their happiness is momentarily halted when the justice of the peace points out some missing needed documentation.

Uli cries as he tells Ale how awful he felt as Acacia yelled out those horrible things to him, and didn’t even have the curtesy to do it face to face. He turns down Ale’s offer to speak to Acacia. It’s the last time he’ll attempt to get her back.
A: Look, Ulises, Acacia is just confused. What’s happening between her and Esteban…
Uli doesn’t get it. What does Esteban have to do with it? Ale has to quickly cover her slip. She says Acacia and Este don’t get along, and Acacia is reacting by making bad choices. Uli doesn’t understand why Este is so important in her life that she has to go to these lengths to put distance between them. Uli is determined to move on. From now on, he’s going to concentrate on his work, resolving his kidnapping, and taking care of Ale.

Ale smiles one of her genuine warm smiles and thanks him. She tells Uli that Andres says she can do her psychological therapy right here in the hospital, and she’s going to put a lot of effort into it. She wants to get better as soon as possible and put all the bad memories behind her…and German. Uli understands, and tells her about the work in Chile that he’s thinking of accepting. He sad to see that with how in love he and Acacia used to be, that it would all end like this.
A: Yes, but with all you have done, you have demonstrated to me that you are not a person who gives up. It’s worth it to fight and find new dreams. And that’s what you and I are going to do!

Manuel and Acacia bring the needed documents and urge the justice of the peace to get moving. While he slowly reviews the documents, Acacia gets antsy.

Rubio goes back to the jail and visits Perla and J-nita. Perla points out that he could easily be there as well, and he shushes her. He’s brought a message from Dan.

Uli tells Ale that he won’t be able to visit her at Benavente, but they will be in contact, and he’ll be able to see her once she can leave Benavente. She asks him to look out for German for her. Cris arrives to bring Ale home. Cris wishes Uli well, and calls him a worthy and brave young man. He thanks her and takes his leave. Ale asks if it’s true about Acacia and Manuel. “Only God knows what’s behind this decision of my daughter.”

Rubio tells Perla that Dan only trusts her. He doesn’t want her to go far because he needs her and will be in touch. Perla says she will keep her mouth shut and asks if Dan knows she’s in jail. Rubio says Dan knows, and will be sending messages via Rubio. He then asks why he heard her talking about Memo when he walked up. Perla says she had a dream about him, that’s why. Rubio knows how in love Memo was with her, and she seemed to like him too. Perla says yeah, but it’s only Dan she loves, and she knows he’ll find a way to get her out of her. And me too, says J-nita. Rubio says, we’ll see, and reminds them not to say anything about him. He leaves and Perla and J-nita argue about their options—Dan or Hector and the police.

Juliana gets ticked off at Norb for not telling her about the Dan debacle and German being on his hit list. He points out that it’s hard to talk to her when she sleeps till noon, in a separate bedroom. She’s going straight over Benavente to see German…and she’ll talk to Cris about the Manuel-Acacia wedding while she’s there. Before she can leave, German arrives and she fawns all over him. “German, my love!” Norb lets German know he didn’t tell Juli everything by saying he told her how Dan forced Ale to marry him with threats. Juli is about to go off on Ale, and German stops her in her tracks. He will not allow her to insult Ale. Juli says she wasn’t going to say anything bad, just that she always knew she was hiding something. German points out how much she suffered to protect him. He won’t let ANYONE speak badly about her! Clear? Norb is concerned about German’s safety. German says he’s got that covered—he’s taking precautions. He almost wishes that Dan WOULD approach him…Juli tells him not to do anything crazy. German turns his attention to Norberto. Just how good of friends was he with Dan? Didn’t he know what Dan did for a living?

Elena and Cris bring Ale to her old room/German’s room (guess he’s being moved). Elena tells Ale that time heals all wounds. Cris tells her to follow Andres’ orders and rest. She catches Ale looking around at all of German’s paintings in the room. Cris apologizes. Rosa still needs to move them out. Ale doesn’t mind. She asks for Acacia and Elena says she had to go to El Soto for errands. Cris thinks having Ale there will do Acacia a lot of good, and Ale says it will do her good as well—it will help her a lot to be close to them all. Cris and Elena leave her to rest. Ale walks over to one of German’s paintings and admires it. Then she spots their plant on the table, the one he gave her when she lived in his secret painting studio, and flashes back to that day. (Doesn’t that feel like a million years ago?) She smiles and gets teary at the sweet memory.

Norberto taps dances around German’s accusations that he knew about Dan’s dirty biz. He says Dan deceived them all! German says he was always suspicious of Dan, but Norb kept defending him. Norb sputters that German saw the cotton that Dan was growing, just like he did. Juli says she’s grateful to Ale for what she did, but she won’t rest in peace until that man is caught. German says there is so much security around the hacienda, that he doubts Dan or his people can get in. (I wouldn’t be so sure.) Juli still wants him to be careful. “And I hope that you’re not thinking about getting back together with Alejandra…Imagine the traumas she has from living with a man like that!” German groans, and reminds her that he’s marrying Lizzy. Juli’s not happy with that either. She moves on to her next topic. She wants German’s help to convince Cris and Este to approve the Manuel-Acacia union. German breaks it to her that he doesn’t think it’s a good idea. He doesn’t want what happened between her and Norb to happen to Manuel. Juli is deeply offended. German leaves.

Esteban has learned of Uli’s visit the night before and goes off on Rubio. Rubio points out he can’t be on watch all the time. Plus, they have an enemy within—Joven Palacios is friends with Ulises. Rubio menacingly plays with his machete and elaborates he means German, the brother of El Catrin (that dude/jerk, aka, Manuel). Este tosses something from his desk. Rubio tells him to calm down, and takes the opportunity to sit in Este’s chair. Este asks where Acacia is and gets enraged when Rubio mentions he saw her in El Soto with Manuel. “I’m not going to let them get married. It doesn’t matter what I have to do.” Both Este and Rubio have a crazed blood thirsty look in their eyes as they think about Manuel.

Perla makes her statement to the police, as Uli and Hector listen in. She cries as she details what brought her to this state—the years with Dan; Estrella, the last of a long line of under-aged girls; Ale, bearing abuses but still concerned for her and others. She stops the confession, breaks down, and speaks to Uli, begging for forgiveness. It’s just hitting her now, all the things she’s done. She asks Hector to forgive her for tipping of Memo and telling him to run. But she didn’t want her Memito to rot in jail. Hector says they still have enough to make sure Dan stays in jail for a long time. Perla blows her nose, and when she looks up sees her blue-eyed Memito walking up to turn himself in. Perla cries and caresses his face.

Cris tells Este that they’ve been invited to the 100th anniversary of Herdez (canned foods). Instead of Este going with her, she wants to take Acacia to have some alone time away from the hacienda and have a chance to convince her to not get married, or to wait for a year. Este is not pleased with the idea of having his prey out of his site, but agrees. Then he asks Cris about the additional money to invest with Campusano. She’s not sure she wants to do it. Este tries to convince her that they will lose out on what they’ve already invested. Plus, she will quickly make back what she’s already invested. He asks if she doesn’t trust him. Cris gives into the pressure and agrees. We see an actually genuine smile from Este, with some shifty eyed relief mixed in.

Uli rips Memo from Perla’s arms and accuses him of kidnapping him. Memo says it wasn’t personal—it was work. Uli loses it. “Do you know all that I lost? Including the woman that I love!” Hector and the police have to pry him off Memo. Memo tells Perla that he could leave her to go to jail. If Perla goes to jail, then he prefers to be in jail too. He asks Hector if he confesses, will Perla go free? Hector says if all goes well, and they lock Dan up, then it’s likely. Perla kisses Memo and tells him she loves him.

Cris says she will put all her shares in Acacia’s name. Este thinks the condition for this should be that Acacia can’t marry Manuel. Cris is doing it for just the opposite reason. If something should happen, then Acacia will have significant resources/funds in her name. She’ll have some financial security. Este vehemently disagrees. Manauel hasn’t done a thing, and Cris is just going to hand this money over to them! Cris is sure Acacia will be responsible with it. Este points out all of Acacia’s tantrums and crazy decisions as evidence that this is not true. Juli enters just then, to speak about the pros and the cons of the marriage.

These people aren’t letting Ale get much rest on her first day out of the hospital. Luisa is already in her room crying over the fact that her best friend is marrying the father of her child. She doesn’t know if she should tell Acacia. Ale says this is getting more and more complicated. Acacia can’t marry Manuel. Luisa asks if Ale knows something else. Ale denies it. Luisa cries that the worst part is now Art is mad at her and wants nothing to do with her. “He thinks I still love Manuel, and he can’t deal with that.” Ale points out how wonderful Art is, while Manuel has done nothing but make her suffer.

Juli states her case for the pros. Manuel is an excellent young man. Este counters that he’s a good for nothing. Juli says he risked his life in the fire, got injured, and saved Acacia (bit of revisionist history since it was Uli who saved Acacia AND Manuel). Cris puts a stop to the back and forth between Este and Juli. The bottom line is that they aren’t ready for marriage. They’ll just end up hurting each other. Acacia and Manuel walk in and shock everyone by revealing that they went down to the justice of the peace and got hitched!

Ale is reading in her bedroom, when German comes right in without knocking. He apologizes, he should have knocked. They initiate polite chit chat, while trying not to smile too much or look too long into each other’s eyes. He explains that the paintings will be moved out of the room soon. Ale says she actually likes having them there. With him she learned about paints, colors, and so many other things…German approaches and closes the personal space between them. “Ale, I wanted to tell you…” Before Ale or we can learn what German wanted to say to Ale while standing in kissing distance, Lizzy enters the room like a cold, wet blanket. German steps back.

Cris and Juli examine the marriage certificate. Juli smiles from ear to ear. Acacia apologizes to Cris for doing it this way, but is defiant. It was this, or running away to marry. What’s done is done. Cris says she is deeply disappointed in her and the way she did things. Juli rushes to the newlyweds and hugs them, welcoming Acacia to the family with glee. Manuel says that with time they’ll demonstrate…He doesn’t get to finish because Este says he will annul this marriage.

German has managed to put a few more feet between himself and Ale and tells Lizzy he was just about to tell her that she was here to help him move the paintings. Uh, huh. We, and Lizzy, know he didn’t even remember she was around. She tells Ale she’s happy she’s better. German grabs a painting and an easel to take to his new room, and Lizzy says she needs to talk to Ale. Lizzy says she is grateful to Ale for sacrificing to save German, even though this shows her how much Ale loves German.
A: Don’t worry about that. What I feel for German is my issue.
L: And also mine. Without knowing the motives, German suffered greatly when you left him.
A: I know. But fortunately, you were there to give him love and affection.
L: Do you also understand that he was able to forget you? I want to be sure that you aren’t going to try to recover German’s love now that he and I are going to marry.

Cris tells Esteban to calm down. Este tells her that this is all a ploy by Norb to get Benavente. Manuel objects. Esteban tells him to shut it—he’s nothing but Norb’s puppet!
Acacia: Even if Manuel were the worst of men, he’s the man I chose as my husband. I demand that you respect him!

Cris points out that Acacia is in no condition to demand respect, since she disrespected her family by doing this. Norb walks in and hears the happy (for him) news. He tells Manuel to get Acacia’s things so that they can move into the finca and celebrate their wedding night there. Acacia seems to just realize that she moved up the sex timeline with Manuel, while Cris looks shell-shocked, and Este gives Manuel and murderous stare.

Ale gives Lizzy her word that she will not try anything with German. In fact, when she’s well enough she’s leaving—going far away to start a new life.
L: That’s the best for everyone. Thank you for understanding that.
A: I’m only going to ask you one thing, Lizzy. Make him very happy, because he deserves it.
L: Believe me, I will. Because just like you, I love German more than my own life.

Cris says they all still have a lot to talk about before Acacia leaves. Acacia thinks it’s best to wait till they are less upset, and Juli thinks they should go straight to having a party. Este says he won’t permit Acacia to leave. Norb rightly points out that she’s of age, AND has a husband who has her back now. Este has no authority. Cris tells Este to calm down. Este plays another card. As the man of the house, he demands respect. As respect to their family, Acacia will only leave this house dressed in white (when she’s married by the Church).

At the police desk, Hector tells Perla that he’ll be able to get her out tomorrow or the day after. Perla speaks to a scowling Uli and says that Ale was able to forgive her, and she hope Uli will be able to forgive Memo. Uli doesn’t look like he’s buying. She says he’s a good guy. He even let Patricio go…oops! Hector’s ears perk up again, and Perla admits that Dan’s other henchman is alive, despite Dan’s orders that Memo kill him. She tells them that only Memo knows where he is. Perla is taken back to the cells, and Uli and Hector whisper as they stare at Memo giving his statement. They’ll give this bit of news to the chief when Memo isn’t around, that wretch. Nope, Uli and Hector are not going down the path of forgiveness, peace, and light with Memo.

Acacia says she doesn’t want to get married in the Church. She’s tired of them all telling her and Manuel what to do. “Leave us in peace!” She takes Manuel by the hand and leaves. JC and Elena enter and Este carelessly tells them Acacia and Manuel got married. JC starts to have one of his dizzy spells, and they quickly get him to the couch. Este looks please with himself.

Luisa caresses the apron Art gave her and hugs it against herself, as their love them plays. Rosa says she knows why she’s been crying—Rubio told her about Acacia and Manuel. Luisa denies that’s the reason. ‘I hope not, because you are already engaged to another man. Have you and Art made up? Because it’s strange that he hasn’t come to see you in a while.” Luisa lies that he has a lot of work and tells her not to worry.

Outside, Manuel wants to know if it’s because she’s not sure of the two of them that she doesn’t want to marry in the Church. Acacia says the parents would want to throw some huge wedding, and she just wants this to be between the two of them. Manuel says that now that they are married, they can’t force them to do anything they don’t want to do. Acacia says she knows. And that’s not the reason she’s not going to spend the night with him at the finca—she’s doing it out of respect for her mother. (Riiiight. She better get some lessons from Juli on how to avoid sleeping with your husband.) She tells her new HUSBAND that she’ll see him tomorrow. He thanks he for defending their relationship.

Inside, the adults keep bickering. JC tells Juli to leave them to speak as a family. Juli says she IS now part of their family, and Norb has to practically drag her out. Elena wants to know how it’s possible that Acacia has done this. Acacia walks in and is ready for a scream-fest, but JC says he’s sure that Cris and Este have already said everything he wants to say. But he does tell her that what she did has profoundly disappointed him. One of his dreams was to walk her down the aisle on his arm. He takes her hands, and Elena embraces her shoulders. Elena says they were not able to be with her in the civil wedding, but please allow them the pleasure of being with her for her Church wedding and do things right. She tells them she’s think about it and takes her leave. Elena tells Cris that they need to ease up and go along, because it they don’t they’ll lose Acacia forever.

Acacia barges into Ale’s room, crying. Ale is shuttering her windows when the slam of the door makes her jump. (Seriously, people. She just got shot and escaped a crazed killer who’s out to get her. A bit more curtesy and care, please. And yeah, she’s still not resting.) Ale tells her to stops this madness with Manuel and return to Ulises. Acacia says it’s too late, and Ale mentions that Uli just came by last night to speak with her. Acacia is shocked and horrified to realize she yelled all those horrible things at him and not Esteban. Ale says he came to tell her he still loves her. “Please don’t tell me that. Why am I finding out now when I’ve already married Manolo?”

Este chews Rubio out for letting Acacia go off and marry Manuel when he spotted her in town. Rubio wants to know how he was to know that’s what they were doing, plus he had stuff to do in town. “What could be more important that what I’ve ordered you to do?” (It must suck to serve three demanding masters.)  Este tells Rubio that he only demanded the Church wedding to buy some time to implement his plan. Hey eyes Rubio’s machete. Uh oh.

Episode 105: Going to the Chapel...
Art has a heart to heart with Andres about Luisa and their breakup. Art admits that Luisa had a relationship with Manuel and got really upset when she learned he’s marrying Acacia. Andres tells him that it’s never easy to hear that an ex is getting married. He says Art needs to talk it out with Luisa, because the two of them are expecting a baby. They hush up when Carmen enters the room. Rosa comes knocking on the door, and Carmen goes into mama lioness mode again. If Rosa is there to speak to Ulises about Acacia, she can turn back now.

Ale is flabbergasted to learn about Acacia’s latest stunt. Why did she do it? Acacia starts blubbering about how Esteban wouldn’t leave her in peace—coming through the windows, grabbing her in the hallways! Ale says she’s sorry that Este is all over her like white on rice, but there has to be another way. They can figure it out together, and Uli might be able to help. Acacia says she can’t. Everyone is going to think she’s crazy, starting with Uli. What is she going to tell Luisa? What is she going to tell Manolo?
Ale: That you don’t love him! Because that’s the TRUTH!
Acacia says she doesn’t want to hurt Manuel. This (the marriage) will be her payment for being stupid enough to fall for Esteban. Ale tries to convince Acacia that Esteban was the one who abused the trust she had in him. He took advantage of her confusion and loneliness. Acacia takes her share of the blame and says she should have never given in to him. “And now I’ve lost the love of my life, because of my sin.”

Art tells Carmen that Rosa came looking for him regarding an event they’re doing. Carmen asks her pardon for her attitude and excuses herself to go to a meeting. Rosa questions Art about why he hasn’t told his mother that he’s marrying Luisa. She knew it! He has no intention of marrying Luisa. What are they going to do now? She’s having difficulty breathing, so Andres runs for his medical bag while Art tries to calm her down.

Ale tells Acacia that she HAS to tell Cris the truth. Acacia thinks this truth would destroy her. She’s barely getting over the depression from losing the baby. “No, I can’t, I can’t.” Acacia thinks it’s best that she go far away, and try to make Manuel happy, and not unhappy like she did with Uli. Ale says she knows it will be hard to gather the courage to tell Manuel and her mother the truth, but she must. Look what happened to her because she couldn’t tell the truth. Acacia cries and says she can’t. “I kept your secret. Swear to me that you will keep mine.” Acacia tries to convince herself that she can start something new and good with Manuel. Ale swears to keep her secret, although she’s not in agreement.

Este rants at Cris about how Acacia’s actions caused JC’s health crisis. Cris points out that HE shouldn’t have told JC the way he did. In any case, after this last stunt, she is reconsidering her idea of putting Acacia’s name on the shares in the textile biz, for now. Este says she should select whom she trusts the most. Ah, but she trusts HIM the most. Happy smirk from Este. Cris thinks better of that though. Este already has so many shares in his name, so it’s best that she keep the other shares in her name. “Whatever you decide, my love.” Acacia runs in (no knocking) and asks Cris to lend her the dress she wore when she married her father. She’s decided to marry in the Church! Happy smile from Cris. Murderous frowny face from Esteban. Yipes!

Andres takes Rosa’s blood pressure, but she’s fine.
R: Arturo, are you going to leave my little girl alone with the baby?
A: No Rosa. I promised that I would marry Luisa, and I will. Unless your granddaughter refuses.
R: I thought you had changed your mind, because you are from a different social class.
Art tells her that has nothing to do with it. He loves Luisa, without prejudice or conditions. Andres reassures her that Art good young man, and he knows he’ll fix things with Luisa. “He better.”

Este loudly objects to Acacia using something so sacred for something so silly.
A: I’m not talking to YOU Esteban. That dress is from the wedding of MY mother with MY father! A wedding of true love and faithfulness.
E: And look how it ended.
C: What did you say?
E: That it was a wedding of love, not like Acacia’s. But fine. Do what you want.
He walks out. Cris says she wished it were in different circumstances, but she will give the dress to Acacia. She says how she would have liked to be at her civil wedding, even though she wasn’t in agreement. Acacia takes her hands and says she will be with her in her Church wedding.
A: Don’t feel bad, mama. You’ve raised me well. Although I’ve made a lot of mistakes, I also try to get back on track. I ask you to please trust me.

Cris asks her to stay with them until the Church wedding. It’s not that she’s old fashioned, she just wants more time with her. Acacia agrees. Cris also invites her to accompany her to the Herdez 100 anniversary celebration. It will give them time to chat and plan the wedding while they journey there. They hug.

Acacia approaches Este in the den, wielding his machete in her hands. She confidently tells him she’s ready to do what’s needed. She tells him to leave the hacienda because he doesn’t deserve to be by Cris’ side, or she will tell Cris all. They can do this the easy way, or the hard way. She hands him the machete.

Dan calls Rubio for an update. Perla and J-nita are still in jail. Perla is still loyal. Norb’s been sniffing around J-nita at the jail. But the most important news is that Ale is back at Benavente. “Perfect!” (Dammit, Rubio!) Rubio says there’s lots of security. “That’s why you’re there—to help me.”

Acacia says she’ll tell Cris HER version of events. And she has the notes and gifts he sent her as proof. Seeing he’s been cornered, Este decides to play another game. He plays at being remorseful. He doesn’t deserve Cris. This was all madness, sprung from routine and a marriage already in crisis. He was so lonely, and there she was, so lovely. She made him feel all the energy and excitement he once felt. She was an escape for him, when he should have been fixing his problems with Cris. He gets on his knees. “Please, Acacia. Don’t say anything to Cristina.”

Rosa returns and Rubio tells her about Acacia’s elopement. He wonders if Rosa knows the reason. She tells them it’s not their business. Luisa comes in, and Rubio slinks out saying he’ll leave Rosa to tell her the news. Rosa asks why young people today do everything in such a rush. She breaks it to Luisa that Acacia and Manuel are already married. Luisa looks like the wind has been knocked out of her.

Acacia really seems to be falling for this b.s. She caresses Este’s face and asks him to get up. He says he’s the reason why this family is falling apart. “It hurts me in my soul because it’s the last thing I wanted.” Acacia asks if he’s just doing this so that she won’t talk to Cris. He, of course, denies it. “I don’t know how I’m going to do it, but I’m going to forget you.” The dope runs to him, apologizing for doing this to him. He plays the victim, and tells her to go on to the Herdez trip with Cris. He tells her she can still fix the error she made with Manuel by divorcing him, but he doesn’t want to be the cause of her making such a big mistake. He turns and walks away, certain that he’s been successful.

Rosa wants to know why the long face from Luisa. Rosa tells her what she needs to be doing is fixing things with Art, and that’s exactly what she went to speak to Art about today! Luisa can’t believe she did that. Rosa says he still wants to marry her, but she found it odd that he hadn’t told his mother yet. Luisa admits she’s the one who asked him not to. Rosa tells her to think of the baby! “The only thing important is that your baby is born within a family.”

Acacia has gone to share her latest woes with Ale, who is still not resting. She talks about how bad she felt for Esteban, and that he asked for another chance to fix things with Cris. Ale asks if she was really dopey enough to believe that. Ale knows he just did it because Acacia threatened to tell Cris. Acacia doesn’t know. If she fell for him because she felt lonely and confused, then why couldn’t the same thing have happened to him? Ale tells her not to let Este make a fool of her again. Acacia’s just looking for any opportunity to NOT tell Cris what happened and hurt her.

Este meets with Rubio and tells him of his latest ploy. Rubio tells him he should give up—the dove has already escaped. Esteban says it’s not over, and slaps his machete against his thigh in a way that even seems to worry Rubio.

Ale says it doesn’t matter what Este says, because at the end of the day, he cheated on Cris. Acacia says she did too. Acacia thinks that if he’s serious about trying, everything can go back to the way it was before, because Cris loves him. Ale tells her not to fool herself. Nothing will be the same as it was before. Acacia agrees, that’s why she needs to just marry Manuel and get out of there.
Ale: That’s the only thing Esteban is right about. He pushed you into this marriage. You did it in a moment of desperation. But you still have time to correct this error.

Cris tells German that Manuel and Acacia are already married. German doesn’t even know what to say. Cris says everyone feels the same—except his parents who are happy. German gets his little bro on the phone and says they have to talk.

Luisa barges into Ale’s room and brings her own trail of tears. (I’m starting to thinks Ale got more rest in the brothel.) She tells them she’s crying because she fought with Art. Acacia admits she married Manuel. Luisa doesn’t get why they did things so quickly, but says: “You know things ended badly between me and Manuel and we don’t get along. But you will always be my friend and I want you to be happy.”
Luisa and Acacia hug. Ale takes their hands in hers, and reminds them that they made a promise to be friends, forever, and to help each other no matter what. They have a group hug. Luisa asks when Acacia is moving in with Manuel and she lets her know it will be after the yet to be scheduled Church wedding. Acacia leaves and Ale asks if Luisa is ok. Luisa says she doing horribly. But she swears it’s not because of Manuel, but because Arturo still hasn’t called her. Her grandmother went to speak with him, and she thought he would call her, but he still hasn’t. Ale wants to know why Art has to always be the one chasing her. Luisa says she doesn’t want him to think she’s chasing him out of spite or because she needs a father for her child. Ale tells her to go talk to him and tell him how she feels.

Cris and Helena get nostalgic over Cri’s first wedding dress that they have brought to Acacia’s room. Acacia comes in, and Cris says she was happy with her father, and hopes the same for her and Manuel. Acacia says she knows she’s disappointed them all, but she promises that she will fix everything so that everything will be ok.

Norberto comes into Juli’s room to get some clothes, and asks pardon for coming into her room. She’s in bed in a purple sexy negligee, and the thought of those joint Benavente-Palacios lands must have made her horny. She says this is THEIR room, then starts coming on to Norb as she says she wants to make their marriage work. She opens his shirt and starts to kiss his chest. He can’t resist. The fall to the bed and continue their mating dance. In a moment of passion, Norb calls out “Julianita!” Juliana stops and looks at him strangely for a moment. “Julianita? You’ve never called me that before. But I LIKE it!” LOL! They continue to get busy, but Norb looks like his mind is elsewhere, or with someone else.

Cris asks if Manuel is the man that makes her happy. Elena says if that is the case, then go ahead and marry him. But a marriage before God is for LIFE. Acacia doesn’t answer.

At a restaurant, Lizzy tells German what she spoke with Ale about. German says she doesn’t have to worry, because Ale is very clear that he’s with Lizzy. But one of the things he loves about Lizzy is her is that she speaks plainly. They kiss, as Manuel walks up. Lizzy congratulates Manuel on his marriage, and leaves after happy te amos and a kiss with German. Manuel wants a congratulatory hug from German, but German lectures him first, before eventually hugging him. He’s living his dream with Acacia, and promises German that it will all work out.

Este tries to convince Cris that Manuel is behind all the changes in Acacia. Then he gets all crazy eyed and begs Cris to tell him that she loves him and nothing with separate them. Then he kisses and hugs her desperately.

Acacia tosses and turns through the night, then gets up and cries at the hem of her wedding dress.

It’s the morning after, and Norb looks like it wasn’t good for him. He stares at Juli as she sleeps, like he’s looking at an alien. She wakes, still in a good mood, and he says he doesn’t think this is going to work. She doesn’t see why not. She gets excited and practically orgasmic thinking that soon, the Palacios will be the owners of the biggest stretch of land in the region. Norb rushes out of bed to take a bath, leaving a perplexed Juli alone in bed.

Luisa goes to see Art, telling him she knows her grandmother came to see him. He’s standoffish thinking that’s the only reason she came. He tells her their marriage will be for nothing more than an arrangement for the peace of mind of her grandmother, who’s a good woman. He’s very clear that there is nothing between them, and he won’t be bothering her anymore about his love for her. He gets up to leave, and she pulls him back. She says he doesn’t have to marry her anymore. She doesn’t want to get married to just give her child a name. She regrets that she had to go through all of this to realize that she LOVES (amar) him.

Norb orders Rubio to go to the jail and tell J-nita and Perla that he’ll help them. Go find out what they need. He also gives him money for J-nita’s parents and instructs Rubio to tell them it came from J-nita. He gives Rubio some money for the job.

Luisa continues. “Manuel will always be the worst mistake of my past, but you and my child are my present and my future…Now I’m the one asking, with all my heart, will you marry me?” Arturo kisses her in reply.

Juli bugs Norb at work. She needs money for wedding planning. She wants to invite all of the region’s society for a big luxurious wedding. Manuel comes in and says she has to get Acacia’s approval first, because she doesn’t want a big wedding. Juli is barely listening. She shows Norb the invitation list, and his jaw drops open.

Cris wakes up happily in Este’s arms. She wants him to help her choose which dress she will wear for the Herdez event. Este says some blah blah about how she’ll look great in any dress she chooses, then gets to his real preoccupation. He thinks they should go to the bank and withdraw the money she is going to invest before she leaves for her day trip. Campusano needs the money to get started on production. Cris would have liked more notice, but she agrees.

Arturo gives Luisa a present for the baby, from Papa Arturo—a small, cuddly stuffed bear. She kisses him and thanks him. “You’ve returned my faith in love, in life. I’ll never be able to thank you enough.” They’re getting pretty good at this smooching stuff! They’re unfortunately interrupted by Carmen. Arturo introduces her to her future daughter-in-law.

Rubio enjoys the catcalls of the ladies in the jail as he approaches Perla and J-nita’s cell. He gives them Norb’s message and tells J-nita about the money for her family. “I knew my Norbertito cared about me.” Perla and Rubio laugh at her silly name for Nob. Rubio then passes on the message from Dan that he’s happy that they’ve remained loyal, and that he’s going to get revenge on those who betrayed him. J-nita wonders if that means Dan’s coming back. Rubio says he doesn’t know and leaves. Perla tells J-nita that there’s no turning back now.

Acacia enters Uli’s office crying. She says they have to talk and clear up everything.

Avances: Acacia and Manuel are getting married in the church, tomorrow. Este is determined to stop it.

Forgive the inevitable typos. No time to check them. Enjoy!

Ale should just put up a sign on her door that says the doctor is in, as so many people march in there to share their problems and talk through their issues. When she begins to see that psychologist, she should ask them what their hourly rate is, and start charging people. Or maybe she'll decide that's her career path.

When Oh When and how is everyone going to find out Esteloco murdered Alonso?

Again Vivi you save the evening. Without your comment and fill in the blank, the wrap up of all these months is just a mess.

For us, you are bailing Univision out.

"These people aren’t letting Ale get much rest on her first day out of the hospital."

I kept thinking the poor girl just got away from a torturous life, trying to convalesce from a bullet to the gut and got less respect and pampering than Acacia did from a feigned belly ache.

"and the thought of those joint Benavente-Palacios lands must have made her horny"

I only wish Luisa is sincere with her declaration of love for Art.

Looks like after running Acacia way out on the Esteban limb they're trying to rehabilitate her and I'm not buying it. Simply because Esteban is detestable, absolves her of nothing in my book. Both are still playing a one-upmanship game, only playing closer to the edge. Acacia has no clue what love is.

What in hell is Rubio's game?

Vivi Thank You sooo much. You filled in so many blanks. Univision CC3 was so flaky last night.

So sorry I am so late!

Vivi, I had a work issue I needed to handle and am just now ready to begin reading your recap!

Can't wait - Diana

Vivi, thanks for another superb and "complete" recap. I'm especially grateful because I fell asleep and missed the entire episode. Drat it!! But your excellent capture of all that happened left me with a feeling as if I had seen it. You made it all so visual. Thanks again!!

Ann-NYC

Vivi: A beautifully constructed masterpiece.

You wrote with heart and soul, all the elements flowed seamlessly together. You took great care to provide us with stunning detail and great clarity.

"He spots Norberto, looking shady in shades"; "Este is not pleased with the idea of having his prey out of his site" and "It must suck to serve three demanding masters" were wonderful. "Before Ale or we can learn what German wanted to say to Ale while standing in kissing distance, Lizzy enters the room like a cold, wet blanket" was my favorite.

Ale's bedroom was receiving as many visitors as Alonso's tomb. It was maddening to see Acacia wailing and mewling about her problems, (all of which she brought on herself) as Ale struggles to recuperate from her physical and mental wounds.

Yet, Ale continues to love and support unconditionally. Acacia, Luisa and Uli. I loved what she said to Uli: "Yes, but with all you have done, you have demonstrated to me that you are not a person who gives up. It’s worth it to fight and find new dreams. And that’s what you and I are going to do!" What an unquenchable spirit!

Are "Both Este and Rubio have a crazed blood thirsty look in their eyes as they think about Manuel" and Lizzy's "Because just like you, I love German more than my own life" possible foreshadowing of events that might come to pass?

I am furious Rubio told Danilo Ale was there.

And Luisa does appear to have finally come to her senses!

More to say but wanted to get my initial thoughts down.

Vivi, without you, I would not have been able to make any sense at all out of this chopped up version. I join tofie and Ann in thanking you! Your care and attention to detail were evident at every turn.

Diana

Vivi in DC, I don't have time to even begin to read your wonderful recap. I could not stay awake last night as I was so tired. Have to hit the road for work, but will come back tonight to read and comment. I just don't dare try to come to the site during work.

Univision makes me just sick; absolutely sick that they would wreck the end of an exciting TN like this and do this to their viewers. Their new TN can just go to you know where.

Fatima

VIvi..thank you, thank you, thank you for spending your precious time to give us a recap that fills in the gaps that Uni has created, Mads would be so proud and pleased that you are taking on the responsibility of supplying with all the missing pieces as we gallop to the. finale.

I am only halfway through your excellent recap and have not had a chance to watch this episode yet, but Inhad to comment.

Poor Ale !!!! Would someone really be released from the hospital so soon after a bullet to the stomach ? And now, everyone comes into her room to whine and complain about his or her own drama. What? Ale is a saint. Luisa was raised as a poor servant in a wealthy home. Ack was raised as the spoiled PRincessa in that home , and Ale was sold into sex slavery by her alcoholic mother. Say what ? And who is the most well balanced and sensible of the three ?

Now that Art has been absent for awhie, Luisa is beginning to realize what a prince he is and what a toad her Babydaddy crush is, Luisa is a fool if she loses this great guy.

What can we say about Ack? I am so mad that the writers are suddenly trying to turn this character around, but I knew that they would. She is a whiny, immature brat.

YIKES. ...Este is on the crazy train headed toward the Locoville station. He is pathetic. First, he tries to intimidate Ack, and since that did not work, he pulls this poor soul routine which Ack buys. What is this girl's I.Q.?

Okay...I am off to readbthebrest of the recap.

Morning everyone! I can totally see how this episode wouldn't make much sense in chopped up form, because these two episodes were obviously set up episodes.

I was surprised Esteban didn't go more berserk after the elopement reveal, but maybe this quiet seething and scheming is worse.

Tofie- You are so right to point out that Acacia got more pampering and care over her fake belly ache, than Ale got for her bullet wound (and emotional trauma) recovery. I couldn't believe how many counseling sessions she had to have with Uli, Luisa, Acacia, and even Lizzy! Damn, people, at least give her a chance to take a nap.

I am so ticked off at Rubio, I can't even get into it.

It seems as though Este is now finally realizes that he rocked the cozy boat that he got into after murdering Alonso by giving into that midlife crisis lust for Ack. Now, he is panicking and trying to bail out that boat. I am hoping the boat sinks.

Once again thank you Vivi for these TWO recaps. Your hard work is much appreciated.

I am really worried about Manuel. Esteban seems set on destroying those who get in the way of what he wants. Now that he has his machete back I fear he might be getting ideas.

Although I didn't really think I would ever say it: up until last night I liked Lizzy. However, her conversation with Ale was completely unnecessary in my opinion. And I honestly don't think anyone can love Germán the way Ale does. I think Lizzy has yet to understand what Ale did for Germán. Although she may never understand. And everyone should leave Ale alone or at least knock before entering her room. Can't they understand how scared she is knowing that the guy who wants to kill her is on the loose AND now knows where she is?

Rubio made me so mad last night when he told Dan everything. Why, just why?

Finally Luisa told Art she loves him! Besides Ale and German, they are the only other couple I'm rooting for.

Susanlynn- It's hard to know what Esteban is planning. His tactics and plans keep needing to change with every new crazy move Acacia makes. These two are playing a game, and he's way better at it than she is.

TF- I have always tried to be fair to Lizzy, but I have to say I was truly annoyed with her for the first time during that talk with Ale. When she told Ale that she needs to accept that German has forgotten about her, I thought to myself she knows that's a lie. For someone who prides herself on being an honest straight shooter, that was quite a delusional statement. She can try to convince herself that for German, Ale is in the past, but she only has to think about how he rushed to Ale's side in the hospital (without even knowing the details), and didn't remember for one minute his date with Lizzy. Sure, when Ale isn't around she has German's whole attention. But when Ale is around, German's eyes and thoughts always gravitate towards Ale, even if Lizzy is in the same room.

Esteban is a maestro with women and can play Cris & Acacia like a fiddle. Had Acacia slept with the guy she'd be a goner, like her mother.

While I appreciate the old soul wisdom Ale prescribes, I only partially agree with her counsel to Uli. He is a good guy, shouldn't give up on love but pointing to Acacia while doing it, way off. Girl ain't no prize. What in the world could she bring to the table other than a birthright?

There is a lot of desperation in the air. People are now scrambling to protect what they want. Lizzy knows what a prince German is, and she knows she was close to having him , but she also realizes his Onetruelove is Ale no matter what he says. Este is desperately trying to hold onto the money and power and good life that he has been living since he killed Alonso plus gain the young hottie he so desires. Ack is desperately trying to extricate herself from this crazy dude and the big hot mess she has gotten herself into. Dan is desperately trying to get revenge on his obsession( Ale hwhile staying out of jail. Norb is desperately trying to keep a lid on his secret life.

Juliana , on the other hand, is ecstatic thinking that she has what she has always desired most....money and power...ha...She is in for a big disappointment. She seems willing to get back with Norb for the benefits since her seductions of Andres, Este, and Hector did not pan out, but that is not happening either.

Norb doesn't even know how Ulises saved his bacon by not turning over that video to the police. Wonder if Uli would change his mind if he knew Norb was behind his kidnapping.

I agree Vivi. I even said the same thing that German will never forget Ale. And it won't do any good for Lizzy to get jealous or even upset and cry every time she sees Ale and Germsn talking to each other. Because kinda like she said they will see Alea lot BUT even if Ale leaves after she gets better German won't forget her. He will miss her and be sad about it.

I would be very ok with Uli and Ale heading to Chile. To me they look and act like a couple, less the youthful jump ya bones. They respect each other and know what they are made of, it could happen. I admit it is more wistful thinking to keep Uli from Acacia's drawers than anything.

Tofie- If I didn't see how much Ale and German still love each other, I'd be all for an Ale-Uli pairing too. When he listed one of his priorities being to care for Ale, I was touched. He is really caring/protective with her, like he was with Itzel. I like how he can be such good friends with a woman without wanting to jump her bones, as we always see in telenovelas.

tofie..I agree that Uli and Ack would be good together since they both appear to have brains and hearts, but I would feel sorry for German...not for Ack who evidently never heard of standing by your man and not jumping to conclusions. However, I am pretty certain that the writers are now painting Aack with the Whoops-I-am-young-and naive brush and getting ready to reunite her with the faithful Uli. Darn. Ack is clicking her Ruby slippers together and going to the wizard for a brain, a heart , and some courage. Like a cat, she will land on her feet and live happily ever after with Uli in the beautiful hacienda waited on by Rosa and fussed over by her doting grandparents and forgiven by her mama. Grumblegrumblegrumble.

I agree with what is being said about Uli and Ale. I had commented yesterday that if we didn't know better, anyone seeing Uli at Ale's bedside would think they were a couple in love.

I'm holding out hope for Ale and German and that Itzel makes a surprise reappearance.

And yes Susanlynn, I would feel badly for German to whom Ale is everything.

I don't care about Acacia. At all. She does not deserve any happy ending with Uli. I'm not even sure that's what she wants deep inside anyway.

Diana

I hope to heavens Uni doesn't cut any part of the scenes where:

1. Cris (JC and Elena) find out about Ack and Este (I am assuming that will happen)
2. How it is revealed that Este is a murderer (if that happens)
3. Ale and German get together for good (if that happens)

Diana

Diane, I recall your mention yesterday of the bedside Uli & Ale, look like a couple thingie but was too lazy to confirm it was you.

ITA, that deep inside it is not Uli, Acacia wants. I don't think that has changed one bit. She wants stepdaddy but it makes her feel bad (look bad).

oops. Diana not Diane

tofie, initially I didn't share your opinion that Ale wanted Este rather than Uli, but I have to admit, you've got me thinking and now, I'm not sure.

I mean, how can I be when she really doesn't know herself? ;)

Diana

You know, it's going to be really difficult to keep the fact that Perla, Juli Jr., AND Memo are cooperating with the police from Dan. It's only by luck that Rubio and Norb weren't hanging around when Hector and Uli were there listening Perla and Memo's statements. If Rubio finds out the girls are helping the cops, he would squeal to Dan. But what would he do if/when he finds out Memo is alive and also squealing to the cops? Where will his loyalties be then?

If Norb finds out about Perla and Juli Jr.'s deal with the cops, what will he do? As long as they don't mention him, he'd probably be fine with it. But he might just mention it to Rubio, and that puts us right back to my Rubio scenario.

I think Ale and Uli have a great friendship, nothing more. Ale's heart is with German and Uli's is still with Acacia. Even though Acacia doesn't deserve his love, Uli may prove to be forgiving...who knows? Uli is a good guy. He did a lot for Ale.

I thought it was sweet that Memo turned himself in so Perla and Julianita can go free. Perla now sees what a person can do for love AND what a true friend is (Ale). As I've said before, Ale really helped Perla see a life outside the brothel.

Just proving more that Ale and German love each other was the way German defended Ale when Juliana started saying things. Juliana doesn't even know what Ale had to endure. She should be thankful her son is alive because of Ale. Although it was cut, I laughed when German insulted her when he said he didn't want what happened to Norbie with her to happen to Manuel with Acacia. Then she called him a "grosero" to which he responded sarcastically with "yeah sure".

Though Uli may forgive Acacia and love her still, despite her lack of trust in him, why would any sane person want someone like Acacia? Even if he forgives her, even if he never knows her lust for Esteban, the girl capriciously asked Manuel to marry her and they did. Can you imagine trying to begin a life with someone flighty as that? Talk about crazy, she is. Uli could just as easily still be locked up or dead by a knife in the kidneys while Acacia flutters between her stepfather and Manuel. You can bet once she gets to university (and that's a big if) she'll have two dozen guys falling all over themselves and she loving every bit.

That's true Tofie. IF Uli ever trusts Acacia again it'll take a while. It eont happen overnight. The thing with Este is Este's own fault too BUT the fact that Acacia chose that lust, passion and desire over Uli's love is selfish of her.

I've said it once, I've said it 1000x; Aghast-cia is a step down in Ariadne's career.

To think, Silvia Navarro and Jorge Salinas were supposed to be Acacia and Esteban᤾(with JS cast as the villain, it's obvious Jose Alberto Castro would go there when you look back at La Que No Podia Amar. Silvia I can't see as Acacia.)

Corazon- I don't think this is a step down for Ariadne. It's good for her to sharpen her acting chops with a role that is not black or white/ completely good or bad. If I were an actor, I wouldn't always want to play a goody goody role.

I don't think the audience is meant to like Acacia. Different than a heroine like Sofia in Hasta, for example, who we are supposed to like and be rooting for, but who is just being annoying. Acacia is doing the ultimate betrayal of her mother, yet in many ways she's a good person, and she's young and foolish. Some audience members might be sympathetic, some may really want her and Esteban to give into their passion (to hell with Cris), some (many) may hate her for what she's doing to her mother. In any case, the role will make you FEEL something. I'm betting Ariadne loved it and that other producers are taking note.

I love SN, but she would NOT have been able to pull off playing an 18 year old. I think Ariadne was perfect for this role.

Amigos- I have guests coming over this evening, and heading to NYC early for the whole day tomorrow. I will not be able to watch tonight (unless I can convince my friends) either on tv or online, nor will I be able to comment tomorrow. :( Is it terrible that I will likely be thinking of this show while I'm hanging out in NYC tomorrow? Anyways, see you all Sunday! Looking forward to what Gloria has for us by then. (Fight the Uni powers that be, and look the full episodes up on YouTube!)

Vivi the godsend---Thank you so very much. Such a great recap and with all of the missing parts also
There is much of your recap that is super great but for me, the line that I liked best was---Ale smiles one of her genuine warm smiles. WOW! That was so true and yet so powerful. Contrast that with---We see an actually genuine smile from Este, with some shifty eyed relief mixed in.

Who is going to live and who is going to die should be a top question right about now? A lot of machetes popping up last night and let's not forget that DevilDan is still on the loose.
Guards at Rancho Benavente? They're worthless.

Fatima---Univision makes you sick
I just fired off another email to them. Univision makes me furious.

TF---Why just why? Because Rubio is a dirty rotten bastard that's why. Remember all of those that were routing for him when he was playing his guitar and acting sweet to Luisa? Rubio was, is and always be no good trash ant that is the true reason why he once again sold Alejandra out last night. I hope that she doesn't have to die a hero but if she does she will be the best hero in my memory. Alejandra should be sainted by the Pope. Who else would stand up to Danilo and his evil?

Diana---You said it beautifully.
Ale has unquenchable spirit.
the gringo

You said gringo. Thanks. I had hope for Rubio but not anymore after last night. His "loyalty" to Este doesn't bug actually because I like how he taunts Este BUT his "loyalty" to Dan has me really PO'd. And he was the one who confirmed to Dan that Ale was living in La Benavente after Dan saw German's painting of her there. Come to think of it it's partly Rubio's fault that Ale and German aren't together right now. And furthermore it's also Norbie's fault too. He knew Ale was at the brothel but kept quiet partly to save his own skin.

Vivi, thanks for going above and beyond. I am omly half way through reading the recap. Can't wait to finish it. Don't have too much time to comment today, I have an intern following me at work.

Thanks again Vivi, spectacular work!

Hasta pronto...

Thanks, Vivi. Just started reading today's recap now. Yesterday's was superb. Fabulous that you included all the cut scenes because Univision stupidly gave Ale and German such short shrift. Your coverage of their scenes absolutely beautiful!

Has Luisa really come to her senses? I hope so. I hope that it just wasn't my baby will be in need of a father thing. Luisa did finally look like a veil had been lifted and she finally saw what a great guy Arturo really is. I hope that is the case, they are so perfect together.

Yes, I guess that the writers have made it so that we are not supposed to like the beautiful young goddess Acacia and I don't.

I have liked Luisa from day one. She made mistakes but it appears that she has matured and will be in the beautiful happy ever after sunset. If Ale survives, she will be there too Acacia??? I don't know what to say about her. If Esteban is a train wreck what would describe spoiled Princess Acacia?

Great comments the last couple of days.

Susanlynn---Your three girl comparison was right on.

Must see tv tonight.
the gringo

Vivi – Most of today, I’ve plopped myself in front of the computer to post a comment, and then the phone rang and it was always some Big Hairy Deal. FINALLY I can post a comment, and it’s very late, especially for back east.

Anyway, I cannot thank you enough for this incredible recap. Last night’s show was a hash with all the cutting, and then the captions lagging so badly. You absolutely saved the day for me!! Awesome job.

Loved all the comments too.

I was none too happy with Rubio last night. It seemed like after Memo was thought to be killed, he had wised up and even said it was better to stay away from shady dealings. And then last night – there he goes again, and he even lighted up when he was handed some money for his efforts. So much for his rehabilitation. I wonder which way the writers will jump with him.

You bet Ariadne is loving this gig, in fact these players are tight. The only quarrel I have is she does seem too old at 28 to play a spoiled, naive 18 year old but that happens frequently. (SN would not have been right at all). I tend to forget Acacia is young and begin to expect more decisiveness and less confusion.

gringo, I laughed at "A lot of machetes popping up last night" and "Guards at Rancho Benavente? They're worthless".

So true!

In terms of who may die, I fear there are a few in imminent danger. Only my opinion (and I'm almost always wrong) but Memo and Manuel are treading on very thin ice. And of course Ale is now Dan's primary target, along with German (I presume).

I would think her role as Acacia would do great things for Ariadne's career. And I could never see Silvia in this role. At all. I know everyone seems to love her. I have to confess - while I agree her acting is good but something about her leaves me cold.

Maggie, Rubio is an enigma. As Vivi noted, he is serving three masters. Something has to break.

Vivi, have a wonderful time tonight and enjoy yourself in NY. We will miss you!

Looking forward to your recap Gloria!

Diana

hmmm....WillRubio remain loyal to his master or follow the lead of his cousin when he discovers that Memo is alive ?

Wow, thank you Vivi! You made these episodes come to life after the terrible butchering by Uni. I so appreciate the artistry and hard work that all the recappers put in and this was a prime example!!

You're welcome Barbara. Thanks for commenting!
