Weekend Discussion: Food for the "Big Game"

It's off-topic, but I've been a little too busy lately to compile the photos I want for the next gallery.

Who is hosting or contributing to a Super Bowl party?  I'm attending one for the first time and hope that my pasta and veggie and my bean salads will go over well.  They were always a hit on St Patrick's Day.

What will you all be up to on Feb 1?

Im not really into the Superbowl anymore, in my youth I was a great deal more involved and that was before Carolina even had a team.

But my husband and kids are all into it. So I found this great jalapeño /artichoke dip for husband the chef that everybody says is fanatastic. My husband even does a white cream Nicaraguan jalapeño sauce for flank and skirt seaks.
He loves margaritas, and I know you guys on the patio make killer margaritas, if you want to share any secret ways of mixing them up or other good drinks?
Urban, your bean salad sounds like a winner.

It all depends who wins the NFC tomorrow which will determine whether I will watch or not.

What "Big Game?" The next World Cup isn't until 2018!

I have to agree with Jarifa. Whoever wins tomorrow will determine weather I will take interest or not

For the 1st time, I'm not really against anyone. I have my most disliked teams and none are here. Sadly neither are my Dolphins.

I forgot to add, the only team with a perfect season, Dolphins

I'm a die-hard Seahawks fan, so I'll be rooting for the Hawks tomorrow.

I just thought I'd share this photo gallery to show how much Seattle and the Pacific Northwest stands behind their team. Some lovely scenes, esp. the Space Needle all lit up in Seahawks blue and green:

I'm with everyone else. This year it depends who wins the league games today. That said, I never go to any parties or entertain anymore being the boys are grown and out and about on their own. I'm far more into UEFA, La Liga and Premier League football, or as we call it soccer, yearly (LOL Ecuador on the World Cup comment--so true)...now those championships I'll be watching!

A bowl or two of spicy HOT chili and beans is the best Super Bowl food ever invented, although it's also good for any cold winter day.

Victoria---jalapeno/artichoke dip sounds like it would be great with tortilla chips to start thing going.
