Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #118 Like a Boomerang, Pato Comes Back

This is for all of you who are suffering through the snow storms in New England and the Midwest.

I intend to shoot the first rat bastard who sees his shadow.

This is going to be a brief recap, because my hubby just returned from working at the Super Bowl.

Greta undercuts Sofia at the Board of Directors meeting and Pato is reinstated at the factory. Sofia begins to suspect Greta's motives for insisting that Pato be re-hired.

Alexa goes to a coffee shop with Paolo so they can read the script and get to know each other. Paolo tells Alexa they will be spending many hours working together. He admires her passionate and professional attitude. Alexa gets even more goofy and googly-eyed than when she's with Armie.

Greta and Dani run into Silvana in the hall of the factory. Greta is furious that Silvana has been rehired. Greta storms off and Silvana vows to Dani that her liaison with Pato is O-V-E-R.

Landa pledges his financial support to Chava for the repairs on Bigfoot. He asks Chava to give him a list of things that Chava needs to repair his race car and how much it will cost.

Renzi tells Pato that Chava and Armie confronted him about being at the Pan Americana race. Renzi also admitted that he was at the race where Bigfoot was ruined. Pato can't believe that Renzi was stupid enough to admit he was at both races. Renzi protests that if Chava had just died - damn it! - they wouldn't be having these problems.

Chava leaves Landa's office and overhears the secretary making a call to Sofia. Chava realizes that it's actually Sofia's money that Landa is offering to fix Bigfoot. Chava gets steamed.

Greta calls Pato to tell him she convinced the Board to reinstate him at the factory. Greta is finally realizing how far Pato is willing to go and that she is at his mercy. She pleads with Pato to keep her secret about Paco being Sofia's father.

Greta needs to shop here.

Cristian tells Silvana that he was able to get a sample of Greta's medicine. Silvana asks Cris to find someone who can make a placebo that looks just like the real thing, then they will substitute the phony pills for Greta's medication and watch her health deteriorate.

At Cuco's, Rosa makes posters for the Wonder Bread Band. Javier comes in and hits up Cuco for a singing job. Cuco can't pay him, but Javier says he'll work for tips. And drinks, drinks and more drinks.

Sofia tells Silvana that due to Greta's interference with the Board of Directors, Pato will be coming back to work. Silvana promises that she will behave herself. She tells Sofia about her encounter with Greta in the hall. Sofia thinks that if Greta can defend Pato, Sofia can side with Silvana.

Can Silvana actually resist? Nah.

Chava confronts Sofia about the money to fix Bigfoot. Chava is offended and his pride is hurt. He doesn't want to take money from her and tells her not to interfere in his business.

Lupe' questions Javier on his whereabouts yesterday when Chava went looking for him. Javier claims he wasn't home because he was working! He's changed! He really has! He's not drinking or chasing women! In fact, he's even going to be singing at Cuco's! To prove his he's actually changed his ways, Javier makes a confession. He didn't really buy the bracelet he gave Lupe'. He just found it on the floor of the dive where he was singing.

Chava and Armie talk about Sofia's sneaky plan with Landa to provide the money to fix Bigfoot. Armie thinks that Chava was too hard on her. If Sofia was in need of money and Chava had the resources, wouldn't he help her out? Chava starts to feel guilty about being an ass.

Sofia commiserates with Dani about trying to help Chava. Dani totally understands. She tells Sofia that the hastily thrown together "employee talent show" was just a ploy to give Lucas an electric guitar. The fact that contest was fixed and all the other employees were cheated doesn't seem to bother either Dani or Sofia.

Armie tells Chava the bad news that the Board of Directors gave Pato his job back.

Alexa and Paolo talk about acting. He wants to know if Alexa has any connection to Ripoll Chocolates. She tells him her family owns the company. In fact, when she's not acting she acts like she's working in the design department!

Chava and Sofia make up and start kissing. Pato barges into the office without knocking. Chava demands to know what dirty tricks Pato used to get his job back. Pato insists that he's an indispensable part of the company and Greta and the Board of Directors realized it. Sofia warns Pato that she alone will have absolute control over the company and everything will go through her from now on.

Three attractive groupies spot Paolo in the coffee shop and interrupt him and Alexa for some hugs and selfies. Paolo has to leave for an interview. He and Alexa agree to make a date to work on the script privately.

Pato gloats about being back and things between him and Chava start to get nasty. Sofia has to calm Chava down before fisticuffs ensue. Pato gloats some more and leaves.

Lupe' gets angry when she hears the truth about the bracelet. Javier didn't "find" it, she's sure he stole it! She kicks his thieving butt out the door.

Chava and Sofia make out in the office. He knows that Greta doesn't like him but he swears to protect Sofia. Some "I love you's" are followed by some really gross kissing. David Zepeda is the grossest, sloppiest kisser I've ever seen.  There is no tenderness or sensuality about his kissing. It's always Tongue meet Tonsils. Ewww.

Matias, Armie, Marisol and Chava meet up in the break room. Marisol is upset that Chava would consider taking money from Sofia and not from her. Chava insists he won't be taking money from either of them. He'll get the money to fix Bigfoot himself.

Armie gives Chava more bad news. It's Araceli's birthday and Chava is expected at her party. Chava doesn't want to go because it's always so awkward trying to keep Araceli out of his pants. Plus, walking down the street with her hanging onto his leg is soooo slow and humiliating. Armie tells Chava he has to go. No, actually he doesn't. He can try saying NO for once.

Javier walks down the street cursing Lupe' for not believing his lies. Back at her house, Lupe cries about the bracelet and about how freaking stupid she was to think that Javier actually worked, made some money and bought her something.

At the Ripoll house, Greta brags to Fausto that she was able to convince the Board to give Pato his job back. Fausto can't believe that Greta would undermine Sofia that way. Doesn't Greta realize that she put Sofia in a bad position with the employees? Greta insists that she had no other choice. Sofia cannot find out that Paco Fernandez is her father.

Pato has found his way to Silvana's office. He's back and is anxious to continue their inter-office relations. Silvana tells him to cool it because people will be watching them. He doesn't care about Sofia or the other employees. All he needs is Greta's support and nights at Silvana's.

Lupe' takes the bracelet to a pawn shop and asks if she can get a few pesos for the crappy bracelet Javier gave her. The clerk examines it with a jeweler's magnifier. She looks up at Lupe' and says, "This is 18 karat gold. It's worth a lot of money."

End of Episode.

Finally, this tweet featuring Seahawks coach Pete Carroll working at a Starbucks drive-through has been re-tweeted over 13,000 times since Sunday night.

Ha..loved the photo. Here in PA, Punxatawny Phil our official groundhog saw his shadow. I am so tired of the dark, the cold, and the snow.

Xlnt, I loved the recap from beginning to end. After shoveling the same 19" of snow over and over again due to drifting, I so appreciated the groundhog threat. Great illustrations and such a funny tweet really made my morning. Thanks! So much better than the episode.

Alexa annoying:

Using her pretentious peninsular Spanish accent with the actor.

The count:
"Que te l digo yo" 1x
"De verdad te lo digo"1x

The only funny: anytime Chava calls Patricio: "licenciadillo" "little licenciado". Always makes me smile.

All in all one stupid episode.

Jarifa

Btw, sure is taking that Silveti guy a long time to fly from South America to Mexico with the pesticide laden chocolates. Wasn't he supposed to be coming like inmediatamente?

Jarifa

xInt, great as usual.

"Alexa gets even more goofy and googly-eyed than when she's with Armie." I'm not surprised, what a silly, frilly, sorry excuse of a woman.

"The fact that contest was fixed and all the other employees were cheated doesn't seem to bother either Dani or Sofia" All three of these girls spoiled rotten.

"David Zepeda is the grossest, sloppiest kisser I've ever seen" I turn away because it turns my stomach. He and Adrián Uribe over on Mi corazón es tuyo, yuck.

Why in heck didn't Sofia tell Pat to turn his ass around, get out of her office and he must get on her calendar, the days of marching right in are over.

Renzi should have punched Pat in the face for berating him about his admission being at both races. Pat the clown almost ruined it for the both of them with his dalliance with Silvana. Focus fool.

Pat does smug well.

Salvador better take Goldilocks money, he ain't got no business for her to meddle in. Wimp is all talk and dream.

Now Dani knows how to go stealth and get the job done (while Sofia failed) for a halfwit poor boy though I don't understand the attraction.

I don't feel bad for Lupe at all, in fact I laughed. I was hoping the pawn shop owner was gonna call the police and report it likely stolen.

Love it when Fausto kicks Greta, love it.

Xint, Your recap brought a huge smile to my face - your pictures and captions were hilarious! I loved every single one, particularly the groundhog and “I see dumb people”.

Brief? Not at all. It was delicious and satisfying. You hit all the highlights and left nothing out.

Your writing is wonderful, fun and snappy. "Alexa gets even more goofy and googly-eyed than when she's with Armie", "It's always Tongue meet Tonsils." and "He's back and is anxious to continue their inter-office relations" were among my many favorites.

Am I a bad person because I am getting bored to tears by Chava and Sophia? I am not going to criticize David but simply say that so much of this story was based on Pedro's earnestness and sweet ways. There's something missing - I agree with the kissing - it seems forced and emotionless.

Lupe finally gets a clue. Please throw your worthless hopefully soon to be ex out please and free yourself to get with Tavares.

Alexa swooning was a bit of a surprise. I didn't think the actor was all that. Especially compared to Armando.

"Pat does smug well" - totally agree tofie.

"Using her pretentious peninsular Spanish accent with the actor.". Wow - Jarifa.

Stay warm Jarifa and everyone else suffering with snow. I shoveled another foot of snow yesterday, on top of the 27 inches we received last week. Ugh.

Xint, this was fantastic.

Diana

"so much of this story was based on Pedro's earnestness and sweet ways"

Pedro got away with it and never bothered me much, even his incurable optimism but with David it comes off as having a big chip on his shoulder and trying to act a macho ruffian who's a little dense.

Xlnt, Araceli hanging on Chava's leg.....hilarious!

That is one awesome groundhog!!!!

(And cute too!)

Uh... are his services for hire? I would like him to deliver a "message" to certain novella writers and one producer. Please send contact information if available. :-)

Thanks for my morning cheer, Xlnt. Terrific recap and I loved all the pics.

I’m not liking anybody much right now. I had been pulling for Silvana a wee bit, but she is quite the coward to destroy Greta without confronting her face to face to reveal her hate. Instead, she goes through little sick brother to withhold her medication. So I guess she plans to dance on Greta’s grave but never reveal herself. Some venganza. And if she lets Pato get in her pants again, after he through her under the bus, I’m through with her.

Diana..You are really getting hit by these storms. Toronto has had very little snow , but they got over a foot yesterday.

Susanlynn, I am SO ready for winter to be over but snow is predicted for Thursday and Monday..Sigh.

Diana

Hi! Come visit even if you don't watch! I miss you!

Xlnt- What a fun recap, and the photos were the best. LOL!

I surfed in and out of this episode, but saw the sloppy kiss in the office. I have to agree with you 100% about DZ's methods, but I don't think Majorie is that great at it either. They need kissing lessons.

Yes, why is Sofia letting Pato waltz in her office without knocking? She's still his BOSS.

I get Greta putting Pato back in the company, sort of, because of his blackmail. But the fact that he is blackmailing her is exactly the reason why she should have dropped the "Pato is great, you should marry him and dump that golddigger Chava" crap. Now she knows his true colors. Why is she still trying to sell him as the ideal son in law? The very fact that he pulled the blackmail card, should make her realize that HE must have been behind the previous anonymous blackmail attempts.

Xlnt---The Recap, the pictures and the cartoon characters are all
well all just excellent What a fun morning read.

Too bad that Sophia is a WUSS and not a bit tougher. Right! you no longer will come in my office without an appointment would be a good start.

I'm disappointed that the talent contest was rigged. So unfair to the other people who did their best.

Jarifa---What is a Peninsular Spanish accent? Do others have one or is Alexa the only one? Is that a good thing to have? I mean like something that is special? A confused gringo

Wow! that Javier is really a piece of ???? and Marisol sticks up for him. Que?
the gringo

Gringo, people speaking Spanish from different countries have different accents like people from different English speaking countries. Alexa will sometimes throw in what is known as the "ceceo" which is heard only in certain parts of Spain. In that variant the letter C is pronounced as a TH before an E or an I. Also a Z is pronounced as TH. I hope that helps. She must have been infected by the ceceo germ in Spain with Alan. :)

To add to her "mystique" they play flamenco music in the background. I find it pretentious because she is pretending to be something she is not. It would as if I went around talking with a British or Australian accent not having been born there to get attention.

Jarifa

Off topic: Diana, sorry you had to get another foot of snow out of the midwest. Seems in the last several years February is turning into our big snow month up here.

Jarifa

Gringo, big question is whether Greta goes after Chava's family with a vengeance?

Patrick back in Ripoli is no shocker! The board is more stupid like Pete Carroll's play-calling from Sunday night!

Diana, Armando better worry about Alexa mixing it up with Paolo!

Irma still using sadistic plots to keep him in her graps!

Thanks Jarifa---That was interesting.

Is Armando in trouble? Alexa sure seems to be over the moon with Paolo. I bet that Paolo will go for it, why wouldn't he?

Good point Steve. I will be paying
attention to Greta's moves if she lives much longer with the poisoned tea and all.
the gringo

Gringo, considering Armando's very incompetent lately, it's looking likely Paolo will make his move toward Alexa very fast!

Big question is whether Paolo is part of Greta's plans to bust up Armando & Alexa ?

Just got a good close up of Chava's hand as he was caressing Sofia's face. Girl hands. Not a speck of grease or one mangled nail. Wow! Should see mine after changing one mower spark plug ! ! But he's workin on cars...I saw him.....

Fausto is a Saint.

I didn't think I liked Marisol. Thanks for helping me make up my mind tonight bitch ! WOW. Bout time for Luc and Dani to get back together.

I am very, very late to the game but I had to comment on the gopher! Holy smoke -- that is too, too funny! Thanks for the laugh!
