Yikes! What an episode!

Only a couple of ¡ostras! from the bawling incompetent Alexa when Sofía told her the truth about her work ethic.

Cannot Araceli with her dead face just disappear? What a clingy pill! Her party was like a wake because of her and her cuz Irma's pissy face.

Hope Javier talks Isadora into supporting him so at least he won't be tempting stupid Lupe again with just one more chance. How many years has she been giving him just that one more chance??? Over 20, right? Still can't believe she actually believed him at first with the bracelet routine.

Could not take Sofía for being so weak that she actually started crying when Patricio told her it was all her fault.

The only bright spot was Daniela remembering that Manjarres was a shady character and calling Silvana on his hiring sfter she had warned her. Liked the chase.

The highlight of the episode was Benito per usual.

Too much blah blah and boo hoo but at least there was some action finally.

I loved when Lucas kicked the door open (that's some foot of his) and when they found Manjarrez's putrid and just plain foul lair (to quote Dani, puedo morir.) Like I asked about Fatima from Esmeralda 1998 once, why isn't this nuisance to society behind bars yet?
 

Because my Spanish comprehension is limited, I am really trying (but not succeeding) in reserving judgement as to what that *itch Sophia said to cause Matias to be so dejected. I mean, is it his job to be standing guard at the vat? Really! Hrrummph.

I agree Jarifa, little Benito was the one bright spot. Araceli's sour expression could have curdled milk. She wasn't in the least bit happy to see Pedro and it appears as though she thinks by ignoring him he might go away. That bouquet of flowers was lovely.

It should be easy for Paco to send Araceli packing but since he signed over all of his worldly goods to her, Probably not so easy now.

Masterfully done Patricio. Able to deflect any finger pointed at you, even rolling things off to Silvana and she, like a fool, accepted. Then, turning it around and blaming Sofia, then Salvador. Goldilocks answers to Pat, she better get used to it.
 

I look back at Guapos and remember when Cesar played Constancio while Ricardo Margaleff (Pedro) played Rocky Morgan. Connie hated Rocky until the near end and here Paco seems to have nothing against Pedobear.
 

Sophia weak just like Pete Carroll: doesn't have the backbone to stand up to people !
 

My hubby and I had a good laugh over the fact that Sofia sent Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma and Fred in the Mystery Machine to go get the creepy old bad guy.
 

Peralta & his cohorts eventually could get their way in taking over the entire neighborhood!


 

When I was in college almost half a century ago, I worked shift work during 2 summers in the quality control lab at the Lubrizol Corp. on the Houston Ship Channel. We were required to test samples of every product (oil additives) during every step of production from start to finish, including samples of the final product taken from the actual loaded vehicles prior to shipment. It is mind-boggling that a food manufacturer would not have at least the same tight scrutiny considering the potential dire consequences of contamination. I think that Matias in particular would have wanted to be certain that his chocolate creations being shipped were of the highest quality and at least not dangerously contaminated. Insecticides aren't exactly odorless. Surely someone along the line would have noticed. If this were real life the government should step in and shut down the plant and even bring criminal charges against those involved.

Finally back in my hotel room and able to get on Caray. Looking forward to the recap when it's up. It sounds like the contaminated chocolates reveal caused many tears this episode.

There USED to be quality control at Ripoll. Remember how Coria and Sofia would taste every product before it went out? But the day the contaminated chocolates were ready to be packed, Matias went off to have lunch with Yovette and Irais, Alexa went off to pretend to be an actress, and Sofia was out finding herself. So it's all of their faults. But of course, Silvana hired a shady dude who she was told was shady, and Pat engineered the whole thing. It's EVERYBODY'S fault.
 

Matias will probably end up being the fall guy.
