Mi corazon es tuyo #151 18 Feb 2015... The colorful proposal at the beach ... Se la ganó!!! ... but Ana is still tortured... meanwhile Isa prepares the DOOM strike.

Refritos:

Fanny’s nightmare in the ladies room at restaurant with Freeky showing up..

Ana giving Fernando a private show with her pink negligee and acting pretty shy… then Fernando does his thing under the sheets..

Fanny arrives at the house, runs by Leon sending him home, and the security guards tell Leon that she had an encounter with Freeky. Leon can’t figure how Freeky knew she would go to that restaurant. Security guards realize they need to tighten up their watch.

Breakfast time, Ana can’t bear her guilt feelings, sits down and tells Fernando she has to tell him something she should have told him long ago (he says she is worrying him, what is it?) she says he deserves to know the truth…

Lo Nuevo:

The kids arrive right at that moment and barge up on Fernando and Ana just before she has a chance to speak…

Ana realizes this was the surprise… Fernando says ‘well, part of it’. They had a good trip there. Fernando is happily in love. Ana says ‘you know your dad..’ and Fernando caught that. They all are happy, joking around. They are going for a swim at the pool. But they have to have breakfast first and Ana says then they have to wait 45 mins before swimming. Ana starts yelling again and Fernando tells her they heard her in China… Nando says maybe Taiwan or Hanoi (Korea?). Nando offers Ana his help with babysitting… So Nando leaves with the little ones. Fanny tells Ana that Nando has already chosen someone.

Back in Mex city, both Edith and Ximena are still on waiting mode. Both caressing pictures of Nando.

At Isa/Yomama’s, Isa is very calm still offending her own mother… Ramona leaves with Yomama. She tells Yomama she does not need the job when Yomama asks her to stay for her job. Isa continues her mocking. A while later Yomama and Ramona leave with their suitcases, not before Isa throws some low blow offenses at Ramona and Ramona restraining herself from attacking Isa. Yomama is sad, tells Isa she won’t bother her anymore . God bless you.

Ana tells Fanny she was about to tell him when Fanny showed up with the clan. Ana feels guilty.. .yada yada…

Fanny continues to beg Ana to wait a while longer… even though Fanny can’t assure her he will forgive her. But better that he find out from you than from someone else. Fanny says no matter what happens they will be friends. Ana keeps punishing herself saying she is a coward. Fanny encourages her and says she is strong. Fanny suggest Ana wait until they return to Mex. Fanny says the love Ana and Fernando have for each other is stronger than any job she had before. Fanny assures her she and her siblings will be there for her. Ana very thankful.

At Johnny’s poledancing workshop, Dana tells Diva what happened in Doro’s office. Diva is in disbelief.

Johnny arrives very happy because he already got the permit to operate the business in that location. They group hug.

Leon arrives at home. He does not look good at all. Leon tells Margarita he failed, Fanny didn’t even let him get in her house. Surely she was going out with Lenin. Then after he waited all night, all 7 kids left on a trip… He is sure Fanny is serious with Lenin and doesn’t love him anymore.

Fanny tells Ana about Leon spending the whole night outside the house… and about Freeky showing up on her. Ana gets really nervous. Fanny says it is her fault, she had asked the guards not to follow her. Fanny wants to tell Fernando but (she won’t tell Ana that she wants to wait until after the surprise proposal) …

Fernando with the boys … it is all ready… Nando says he sees Fernando too nervous. Fernando admits he is. Luz asks ‘inhale… exhale’. Fernando appreciates that they all are with him.

Yomama with Ramona are at some office waiting. Ramona grabs a whole handful of candy from a candy jar on the desk. Ramona is sad, she will miss Yomama. Yomama invites her to visit her at the ‘home’. Ramona says her goodbyes, says she loves her as a mother. Yomama the same ‘as a daughter’.

Doorknock at Isa’s… At first she yells for Ramona to answer it, then realizes she is alone and goes to open the door. It is Doro. He concludes Isa did not come back to respond to his last offer because she got her information through some other means. He confronts her on having heard that a suspicious ‘man’ was taking a video of Ana. Dorofeo repeats his offer to give her a ‘better quality of life’. That only makes her feel sick and she pushes him out the door.

At the beach, the clan tells Ana that there is a treasure map surprise game for her… She has to solve some clues… Nando looks like the Chakal from Don Francisco’s show and will play the trumpet if she is wrong… First clue… is in the water… at the pool. The whole clan goes with Ana… Ana is about to get the clue when Nando plays the trumpet saying time’s up. Fernando asks Nando to give her more time… Ana finds the first key and Fernando starts singing as Don Francisco ‘she won it! She won it!’ (se la ganó se la ganó) The key has a note that says that the 2nd clue is in a pyramid, they conclude it must be at the beach… they get there… the pyramid on the sand is very elaborate and pretty. The kids make Ana dig inside the pyramid… As she pulls the key and note, they sing again ‘she won it!’ This time the twins read on the clue note that she has to take 100 steps northbound and will find ‘my heart’. The whole clan starts walking toward the North. When they find the spot, there is a half heart (like on the show’s symbol) made of sand… they start digging beside the heart. Ana pulls out a treasure chest. She starts trying all the keys. Nando gives her one last oral clue… something about the key is hanging on the handsome man but the key will cost her a kiss, but the result will be worth it… Fernando demands the ‘clue’, should be easy for her since he has told it to her in the past… Ana knows it is ‘Mi Corazon es tuyo’ and the whole family starts humming the theme of the novela.

Ana finally gets to open the chest… with difficulty. There is one huge strand of bright red fabric… all the kids take the long strand and make a heart keeping Fernando and Ana in the middle. Basically this is his proposal in front of all the kids…

I could not have found better partner in life, or better guide for my kids than you, Ana Leal. Will you marry me?

Ana is so nervous she just looks at all the kids, who are all smiling…Luz yells ‘its what I asked Santa!!’…

I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life at your side. (the twins yell ‘and to have more little siblings!!’) And have… more little siblings… (this makes her smile) Luz asks her ‘say yes, Ana. We want you to be our mom.’

The kids cheer ‘Say yes!’

Ana finally says ‘yes, I do want to marry you, Fernando.’

Sebas yells ‘she said yes!!!’ and Fernando repeats that and tells her several ‘te amo’s several times and then puts the ring on her finger. She smiles with teary eyes. He keeps repeating he loves her. I love you too, you don’t know how much. I will dedicate my life to making you happy. Thank you … Sealed with a kiss. The kids love it…

Back in Mex, Isa is drooling over her upcoming success… She has the phone # of the Chicago. She calls and finds out when Ana’s next performance is. It is La Diva answering the phone. Isa uses the accent/voice of ‘the man of the martinis’. Diva remembers ‘the martinis and the video!’ Diva warns ‘him that he’ cannot put the video on the internet. Diva does tell her Ana will dance there tonight for the last time. Isa hangs up. She concludes Ana will have to come back, and this time no one will spoil Isa’s plan. She tells the camera ‘you are all suffering for Ana, right? Too bad! JAJA!

Yomama still at the Geriatric clinic with the case worker… the lady tells her there are different activities the residents participate in. Yomama asks if they have margaritas… nope but there are many activities like yoga classes… and they are all free. Yomama likes that. There are other services like nutrition guidance and accupunture.

Back to the beach, all the kids are laying on lounge chairs by pool putting suntan lotion on. Then they all get in the pool choreographed one at a time. They all round up Fernando and get a family picture taken in the pool. Then they all run to the beach and burry Luz in the sand. They write a heart on the sand ‘Dad and Ana’ with Luz sitting beside it.

At Johnny’s studio, he is impressing Jennifer, turns out he was a photographer or videographer in the past. They are ready to take a video of Dana on the tube. Suddenly Mike, the guy who Johnny beat in the boxing match, is standing behind Johnny. Jenny gets scared.

At beach, Fanny tells Ana she could not tell her about the surprise from Fernando. Ana thinks they just made the problem bigger now since now she is engaged to Fernando. Ana says Fernando’s shock will be worse now when he learns the truth. Ana is not mad at Fanny, she is mad at herself. She is seeing all her dreams come true and it all could fall apart because she did not tell him the truth in time.

Mike The boxer is there to help with the security of the business for Johnny… to Jennifer’s relief. Mike remembers Jennifer was the reason Johnny got up and beat him. Dana ‘faints’ for Mike. Mike came with a girl named Marta…

Isa gives some guy an envelope to give Bruno at Lascurain mansion. Isa gives him precise instructions to give it to Bruno and tell him that there is important information there that only Fernando Lascurain can see. Isa gives him money. Isa tells him to say some stranger on the street gave him the envelope if they ask. He does not know Isa, for the record. The guy leaves, Isa tap dances and tells the camera ‘let the show begin, the nanny will regret everything she did to me’

Previews: on Friday Fernando gets the note, heads to the Chicago and sees Ana dancing (she sees him too, and his facial expression says it all … heartbreak … disenchantment … )

Great recap, Marta! Yes, it felt like,"Sábado gigante" time with Nando and his props.

Great fun at the beach but sad knowing what is coming. : (

I'm keeping my mouth shut about Ana-Liar because some people think she is real. To see the look on poor Fernando's face in the previews is truly heartbreaking. I was not watching this TN when he got the bean factory's CFO (Isabitch) preggers, so he might not be truly saintly. But to see him there with his whole world crumbling....just glad I know it's just on TV.

And Marta thanks for a great recap. You can make a filler episode fun.
Did anyone else catch the little jokes from Nando and Fanny when they were agreeing to watch their younger siblings? Nando called himself Nannydo or something and somebody called Fanny Fananny. Cutest part of the episode and they looked genuinely like a big happy family.

Marta, thanks so much for the recap. Always appreciated, especially so quickly!

Episode seemed a wee bit fillerish to me, and I honestly thought Fernando had already proposed when he gave her the seven rings. Guess that was the transitional relationship leading up to the proposal. :o)

Glad Yolanda finally sees the truth about her vile daughter. Hope Ramona sticks around as her pal.

Seems like those security guards should have let the boss (Fernando) know that the suspect made contact with Fanny. That was one scary scene it the ladies room!

So, did I miss it, did Nando ever divulge his decision on which of his girlfriends to keep and which to reject?

Thank you so much for putting up a recap so fast! I'm so sad I've missed yesterday's and tonight's episodes since Ana and Fernando finally got it on! I'm also very disappointed that Ana has now accepted the marriage proposal and hasn't come clean!

Thank goodness we've been spared the drama from the side couples. I wish they wouldn't drag out Nando's "big decision", he's 17 for crying out loud, it's disgusting! And judging from the hints that have been dropped, I am going to be pissed when he chooses Ximena, blegh! Isn't that like statutory rape or something?! Glad I won't have to miss another episode tomorrow since I work late and we've got the premios. Thanks again for the recap!

I'm just catching up on the recap -- so well done! and comments from today and two days ago.

I can't believe the vitriolic comments both against fictionalized characters and members of our community.

I'm going to chalk it up to MCET burnout.

Margaret

Thank you again for an awesome recap Marta.

Fernando should have hired magic Mike to protect Fanny instead of the army of security guys.

The girl that came into the workshop at the same time as Mike, I wonder if she's another friend of Osorio.

I have no sympathy for Ana, so Isabela can check me off that list. Ana made this bed. The gut punch to Fernando is one thing but those poor kids, especially Luz. But then again, Fernando should have stayed away from having romantic and sexual entanglements with his employees, rarely ends well.

I think Leon is missing the point, while Fanny was intrigued and wants to date Lenin, she isn't running to Lenin but away from Leon. I don't like his mad/sad pout either.

Still don't care about Nando's choice.

So, Juan is a photographer too, is there anything he cannot do? A true Renaissance Man, Osorio's alter ego.

Glad Ramona left and I give her most of the credit for paving the way for Yomama's tentative steps towards redemption. Yomama needs to tell Fernando about DN though.

tofie, ITA about:

Leon's mad/sad pout, he is another one who made his own bed...

Still don't care about Nando's choice.

So, Juan is ... Osorio's alter ego?

Give Ramona most of the credit for paving the way for Yomama's tentative steps towards redemption.

Yomama needs to tell Fernando about DN though.

I ahve a confession to make... i felt ad about the comments so i watched ahead on youtube. won't comment... but watched enough to say i will stick with this one 'till the end...

that should be 'I have a confession to make, felt bad about...'

Thank you, Marta. I really appreciate the detail and the way that you capture the spirit of the thing.

I am taking a break this week because my internet is limited while away at my mother's. Nothing like being away from a daily habit (140 plus episodes in!!) -- even with its flaws -- to miss it!

I will be catching Friday's the minute I get home this weekend. It sounds like it will be a heartbreaker.

Marvelous recap Marta. Except the actual proposal, did seem "fillery" to me too, but you made it fun to read through again.

Yes, Fer needs to hire another security firm. Don't care Fanny told the guards not to follow her, they should have said No, it's our job and they could have hung in the restaurant somewhere. Lame writing.

Most heartbreaking scene, little Luz sitting next to the heart. If the previews give us the hint of Fernando's reaction, that little angel will be so impacted. Dang, I may need to go buy Kleenex.

Just get the Nando earth-shattering (NOT) decision over with already. I just don't see Ximena as his choice, but it's these writers so who knows.

Leon makes an ugly mope. I hear him say he was stupid, but I don't see him thinking about his past negative actions/temper, etc. That would have gone far I think for us in viewerville to accept he and Fanny as workable going forward if the writers would have given us that.

I can't even on another Johny expert past career.

Carmen knows how to play Yomama to tug at our heartstrings. I kept thinking....hey, how about moving in with Soledad and Ramona can move in with them...a spin-off! Might be a fun series to watch.

Daisynjay

Gracias, Marta. I see that tonight is Premio so there is no episode until tomorrow.

Since I forgot about Premio, that puts the finale on April 2nd.

Yomama definitely needs to tell Fernando the truth about DN. This will give him a new reason for concern about Enfrique's escape, as DN lives in the mansion. That baby has spent so little time in his mother's home I'm sure he doesn't realize anymore who his mother is.

More later.

wow, that puts it right on the edge of good friday / easter sunday.

DaisynJay, i like it!! Carmen knows how to play Yomama to tug at our heartstrings. I kept thinking....hey, how about moving in with Soledad and Ramona can move in with them...a spin-off! Might be a fun series to watch.

a la Golden girls... they will keep each other company while waiting for hte next grandkids visit.

Somewhat OT: Isn't it usual for novelas to be pre-empted on Good Friday? That means it's a perfect scheduling fit.

Years ago when El Privilegio de Amar was airing Christmas Week was very awkward because we ended up with almost 10 days of rerun and "best of" episodes because there were too many episodes left to finish it just before Christmas without doubling up and pre-empting what was then the 10PM checkboard. Univision was reluctant to do that in 2001-02. That is the last time I remember anything like that, so they must have had lots of objections from viewers who wanted the story to move ahead.

Somebody obviously knows the timing in Mexico to be able to plan it better now. Also, based on others' recaps, there has been no massive editing of these episodes.

Great recap, Marta. thank you. I think this episode was solely about showing how much they love each other so that the "big reveal" on friday will hurt that much more.

On the Nando thing, I think that seeing both Ximena and Edith loving stroking his picture was degrading. To see these two WOMEN crying and waiting for a 17 year old BOY to chose them is pathetic. Neither one of these women have any pride or inner strength. If they had they would've moved on, but nope. Their going to mope and cry like a bunch of pre-schoolers.

On Isabella, yes she is cruel and a b***h, but she is stunning! That red dress was killing it! I do think that her payback will be monumental. They are portraying her like the worst person alive, meaning she will get major punishment.

Isa needs a major ANVIL & fast!

She really wants to destroy Ana's life & maybe want her dead!

I agree, Steve, although I'm torn between her wanting Ana dead vs wanting her to suffer for the rest of her life.

Or drive her to suicide. She is just sadistic enough for that.

Thanks Marta, definitely mostly filler. So the kids jump on a plane and crash the beach getaway.
I agree that they are making this huge deal for the huge letdown. The avances show Fernando watching Ana dance her last dance.
I agree with you Bryan, 2 grown women crying over a 17 year old boy definitely shows females in a negative light. But this TN has shown most of the females in a negative light.

Wonderful recap!

Agree with Kirby that the look on Fer's face in the previews was devastated and heart breaking. I'm sure it will then turn to anger soon. I really am clueless to what he will do. Will he throw her out immediately? Or will she leave on her own?

Tonight's epi should be a good one.

If Isa drives Ana to the suicide part, then I'm DONE with this TN!

I'm worried that Isa might want to up the ante into destroying Ana's family.

Isabitch is already delusional about "what she's [Ana] done to me" so it's not a stretch to assign blame to the children when Alex and Guille played their pranks on her. Remember the plastic spider?

Fanny had Isabitch's number from the get-go and remember Isa had no conscience at the possibility that Enfrique would do something to her.

The whole family is in danger. I can easily envision Enfrique planning to kill every last one of them before the eyes of a captive Fernando before almost killing him so that he would live with the pain. That's what I think his plan is.

However, I haven't yet decided whether that would be too much for Isabitch.

totally agree on all three points, Bryan.:
lifting Fernando higher and higher only to drop him from way up there at the previews, two grown men going after a lusty 17 yr old... and Isa's red dress being totally stunning, although they show, from her attitude towards her mom, she is only beautiful on the outside but a real monster on the inside...

I am with UA, not sure if Isa is going after killing Ana or making her suffer a real slow agony/torture. However it is clear Isa knows she has no chance with Fer at all, no matter what happens to Ana since at this point she knows Fer is aware of how cruel she has been with her own mother and how she is totally ignoring her own child...

UA, remember also how the twins covered her face in whipped cream/shaving cream while she was under the cold meds influence at New Years eve... so its not only the black spider but also that.

i can't type today, meant two grown WOMEN going after lusty 17 year old young man.

Isabela just needs a dog to kick and doesn't matter who it is or what slight she believes has been directed her way. Fernando's crush on Ana and the kids got in her way and she believes spoiled her trip down easy street. When she takes Ana down, she'll find another dog, Yolanda already left.

that's one of the ironies of this novela... Isa is as beautiful or even more beautiful than Ana in the appearance area, knows how to impress with a dress/entrance... (Ana is getting there, not quite there because of her 'gimmicks') but then she is so ugly on the inside she is NO MATCH for Ana or Fernando himself. if ony Isa were a bit nicer, a bit more caring and a LOT less selfish, her life would be SO different... and you can't blame Yomama for it all... everyone has choices and forks on the road...

If something is going on in a novela that a member has a personal experience with, I think it's awesome--and brave--of them to share it in order for us to have a better understanding.

Personal attacks are not welcome on Caray, Caray!

Nanette

Nanette, very well put. I missed that yesterday. Thank you for posting.

Jarifa

Isa's revenge seems to be one of those atypical mean girl "if I can't have him then you can't either". So to that end, whatever she can have happen to Ana to put distance between her and Fer is her end game. And I'm not so sure she doesn't think she could still worm her way back to Fer...she is delusional on that end.

We basically have a few people who have it out for Ana or Fer, or both. I would guess that Fer will go ballistic over Ana's secret keeping, but as the bad guys--Isa, Eeky, Doro, whoever else I forgot about--moves in for the revenge, it will jog him to realize how much he loves her, etc. For the kids' sake, I can't see the show tearing them away from Ana, not after that beach scene. This is a comedy after all.

Remember IsaPsycho had a huge glass vase ready to attempt, we assume, to kill Mama Sol when she was impersonating AnaLiar. She appears to be about as crazy as Freaky, she is just far more attractive and does a little better job hiding it. I remember seeing her in 'Everyone loves Irresistable Juan' and thought she was beautiful till I noticed she was the size of the statue of liberty. In this show she would be more sinister if she would lay off the candid quips to Viewerville.

I found the hotel they spent the weekend at... called grand velas hotel. http://vallarta.grandvelas.com/

First role Mayrin was in that i remember was as the 'Laura'-like role in La Mentira... 'Nicole'.

Kirby: "In this show she would be more sinister if she would lay off the candid quips to Viewerville." For once we agree. :) I HATE when she talks to the audience.

I guess because Isa has no friends the writers have to have her talk to the camera.

I hate it too Kirby and Nanette!

I think that is meant to remind us we're watching a comedy. Thanks for the reminder about the vase she would have whacked Soledad with. That would have been monumentally stupid because there is no way she would have gotten away with it. No murderer worthy of the name commits the crime in his/her own home.

To elaborate: No murderer worthy of the name commits the crime in his/her own home. It's impossible to clean up the blood stains and there wouldn't be enough money to bribe the servants into silence.

(Can't you tell I've just read some Oscar Wilde?)

UA: An Ideal Husband or The Importance of Being Earnest. Your fav of the two?

Ana is scared. She's terrified of losing all the people she's come to consider her family. The kids which she sees as her kids and Fernando whom is the man she loves. I compare her situation a bit to someone that's in the closet. Do they want to be there and hide this important piece of information about themselves, no. Of course not. But for many people, coming out can mean losing people they love. Ana is basically "in the closet" with her secret. Coming out means having a strong possibility of losing everything for her. Does she need to tell Fernando? Yes, but I at least can understand her terror behind it and why shes kept putting it off. And as a result, I don't think she's a bad person for hiding the truth. From the very beginning she had the people closest to Fernando (Fanny, Nico, Diego) agreeing that it was best for her to hide her secret from him, which I'm sure made her fears of coming clean even worse. They would for me anyway.

Yes. Ijust finished reading The Picture of Dorian Gray for an event this weekend.

Carvivlie - "I guess because Isa has no friends the writers have to have her talk to the camera." I think you're right. Hissabela no longer has an evil sidekick.

Denise

Anon 7:02: Agree with you.

UA: I've read An Ideal Husband as well as seen two filmed versions. I've seen a couple of filmed versions of The Importance of Being Earnest. The Picture of Dorian Gray is on my list to read.

Anon 7:02, good analogy, and I agree completely.

Isa doesn't seem to be too worried that Enrique is still on the loose. She doesn't have any bodyguard in case he comes a callin'.

Good analogy, Anon 11:02. I agree she is a good... a great person... her fears have been supported by folks who know Fernando, as you know, but it is ultimately her story to tell him. And it should have been her telling him, but we see from previews of tomorrow that it will be a worst case scenario situation instead.

Part 1 of 2

LAMELAMELAMELAME!

I love the scenes with the kids and acting as a family, but this one time I just wanted Ana to tell Fer about her “other” gig. The kids could not have come at a more inopportune time. I would have had Ana stop everything, told the kids to wait somewhere else and finish talking to Fer, but no, anything to prolong the agony. The treasure hunt was endearing but the overhanging secret took everything away from it and turned it into something surreal. I think this scene would have been much more emotional for the audience if it had been done after the reveal and reconciliation.

Fernando finding out about Ana by seeing her perform just takes away the opportunity to have them work something out. Now this just becomes another “I caught you, traitor!” and “Forgive me!” scenario. Boring! But why should I complain? After all this is what the audience feeds on, lame story plots.

Of course, since the preview are intentionally misleading – I distinctly heard the narrator say “Find out how Fernando reacts” on yesterday’s (Feb. 18) previews and this was nowhere to be seen. So there is a chance that this story can still go a different route. Yes, they showed Fernando’s face, but was that a face of a broken and disillusioned heart? Or could it also be of surprise? Could this be another Y2K scare? Tune in on Monday, same Nannytime, same Nannychannel!

Thank gawwwd! Someone in the MCET universe actually said that the bodyguards were “babosos”! I agree in that they never should have left Fannie alone, even if she told them to. One might argue, why would she do that? It actually makes total sense in a Hollywoodesque way.

Some remarks about the remarks:

“Seems like those security guards should have let the boss (Fernando) know that the suspect made contact with Fanny.” – J in O - Totally agree! Assuming that Fanny actually told anyone.

“So, did I miss it, did Nando ever divulge his decision on which of his girlfriends to keep and which to reject?” – J in O – You did not miss it and I suspect that even when he does spill the beans we will still not have missed anything.

“And judging from the hints that have been dropped, I am going to be pissed when he chooses Ximena, blegh!” – Lily – He’ll pick Edith. Problem is that the audience has been manipulated in such a way that deciding which one should be picked is heartbreaking. Both ladies have been sold to us as loving, deserving and struggling with a life conflict that none of us would want.

“I'm going to chalk it up to MCET burnout.” – Marg – Blame it on Osorio. For better or worse this story has been engineered in such a way to provoke thoughts and comparisons as though these were real life people. Thanks to Isabela’s character that has kept reminding us that this is just a (silly & ridiculous) fantasy. Then again, I wonder how many of the viewing audience in Mexico has analyzed these characters as much as this group has in the last couple of days.

Part 2 of 2

I actually wonder if such person of Ana’s integrity, while being so uninhibited and being a pole dancer at a rated-G strip club can actually exist. I guess it is just as possible as a flash dancer who confesses and wants to be a ballerina. It seems that this type of story has been told many time where the female lead does something that can be considered taboo or deplorable because some circumstance forces her to then meets the love of her life and has to come to grips with what she currently does and where she wants to go. Pretty Woman anyone? Although most of these stories take place in a universe where the male lead knows about the female lead’s “forbidden” activity.

a)“I have no sympathy for Ana”, b) “ I think Leon is missing the point…” – tofie- About (a). We are suffering from Ana-glut. We have had so much Ana shoved down our throat that we are becoming Ana-resistant. I love the way Ana is I just wish she would have been given to us in moderate amount so we would not overdose on her. I think we agree that she made one big mistake not telling Fernando. The novella made that big mistake because the producers preferred smearing her just to get some cheap drama in there. Instead they could have gone another route where we would actually be cheering for her. But that would have involved smarter dialog and situations. That would have been too much for the stupid drama seeking crowd. And (b) Not only did Leon miss the point; he is travelling at Mach 9 in the opposite direction of the point. I like the Leon-Fannie couple, but not while Leon is portrayed as this disrespectful, jealousy-crazed person. As is, as much as I would not like it, I would say “Run Fannie run!”

“watched ahead on youtube” – MI- some months ago I searched for MCET epis on YT, but only found previews, interviews and some Ana pole dancing scenes. Can you share the search phrase that you used to locate these YT epis? TY

“that little angel will be so impacted.” -DaisyNJay- I wonder if Luz will be the catalyst for the reconciliation?

“To see these two WOMEN crying and waiting for a 17 year old BOY to chose them is pathetic.”-Bryan-
“I agree with you Bryan, 2 grown women crying over a 17 year old boy…”-CathyX-

Your statements are a contradiction. If they are crying over a 17 y/o *boy* then they certainly can’t be “women”. Taken in perspective, Xi and Edith are around 19, 20 at most, so it isn’t like they are mature. Like Fannie, they still have a ways to go. Plus given their past experiences, it is possible that they are not psychologically equivalent to others their age. Regardless of their age or circumstance, I do agree that it is pathetic that they would brood to such a degree over a guy. I am afraid that they have taken Nando and placed him on a pedestal as their messiah and savior, but this kind of adulation and infatuation is very different than, as Westley said, “true love”.
I have a programming course coming up, so I don’t know when I’ll get a chance to continue with is novella.

I am what you guys often refer to as a "lurker". I barely have enough time to watch the shows, then read the comments. However, I could not let Kirby's very personal, caustic, and completely unnecessary response to Victoria go unchallenged or uncontested. My best friend from childhood has Bipolar disorder also, so I was especially disheartened to read what Kirby wrote.

It is so sad, deplorable, and really despicable that, on this forum, some have taken to: (1) hurling personal attacks against others on this site, (2) to hurling nasty names, and (3) to hurling harsh, vulgar words against even the fictionalized characters of the show. In my opinion, such behavior and personal attacks are totally uncalled for on this site, which is here for our benefit by the wonderful grace and hard work of our BlogMom who has put her heart and soul into making this site for the benefit of others.

For the 2+ years that I've been reading Caray, Caray, I've never read such harsh attacks as those made by Kirby. While I believe his comments tend usually to be somewhat snarky, said comment to Victoria went way to far. I would like to think he meant it as a sarcastic joke. But since no apology has been forthcoming, that might not be the case.

As Nanette mentioned, usually a member might wish to share a personal fact in order to help us understand an actor's character better. Also, other tidbits are shared among us, such as filming locations (the hotel and beach for Ana and Fernando's rendezvous), the latest news about a particular actor (Yeah, SN is pregnant), the current weather conditions in one's hometown, a personal story that might help open up 'some' of our minds to understand a telenovela character better (even in the fictionalized world of telenovelas).

So I would hope that, in the future, such venom will be kept behind one's own closed door and to oneself without the need to be posted on Caray, Caray.

This is suppose to be a fun and enjoyable experience. I hope we can make sure it stays that way.

I also lurk. Kirby did not make the caustic, rude and harsh comment to Victoria. It was an anonymous comment.

i was rewatching tuesday's ep, when they have their first dinner by the waves... as they are sitting Ana whispers-comments to him that if those guys are the chefs, they are a bit fat... (?)
and she catches Fernando tell the chef/server that he does not want too much octopus so as the chefs/servers take a step back she reaches her oyster and offers to him to trade for some octopus. LOL! i guess if i were Fernando and they were in public this would be a bit embarrassing (although he did not look too embarrassed, rather amused, at the restaurant on the 'when harry met sally' scene). But in private, she is making him giggle with her gimmicks, which he needs every now and then.

Agree, it was not Kirby but an anon lurker that made the nasty hateful comment and I too had one follow me from blog to blog about 6 months ago hurling nasty personal attacks, some about personal history of which I never disclosed and far from true. Every time I commented, then came a personal attack, making me ever more cautious about sharing any personal details. Thankfully, as here for Victoria, the folks on the La Gata, blog came to my defense. What I love about Caray, is we can throw most anything out there for comment or debate but it is not personal when we disagree. Unfortunately, we have an anonymous bully or bullies cruising. Whomever you are, what a vile coward.

So no episode yesterday?

I think it should be permissible for the recapper to delete such comments that are directed towards any other commenter in the manner that that past comment was made. Just as we delete spam comments, those personal attacks that have nothing to do with the show need to be deleted too. I will delete them when I recap.

Variopinta, I think there is a spoiler in your link. So for anyone who doesn't want to read the spoiler, don't read the article.

Thank you! I agree with you.

Isabela speaking the gods (i.e. viewers). Add me to the list of people that find it refreshing (I like it), if there is such a list.

All the novellas that I've seen always create their own universe and as if written in stone never, ever leave it. This novella, on the other hand, as with a few others to a much lesser degree, have been breaking the impenetrable barrier between novella land and real world. This novella has broken the barriwe by doing a few things that were "forbidden" before: "Mi Corazon es Tuyo" water and PCs, characters singing the theme song including guest appearances by the person/people interpreting the song, posting videos of videos mentioned in the show and of course the big daddy of all of them, a character actually addressing the audience.

In my opinion, Isabela taunting the audience is a way to get them further involved and behind the good lead. This is something that sets this novella apart. Whether it is in a good or bad way depending on how much each viewer likes or dislikes it. Somehow I fear that we have just seen the beginning of this trend.

Of Mice and Vile Posters. These people get their power by attacking others. It only gets worse when the attacked poster attempts to defend him/herself, but the vile poster totally loses power when the entire community denounces such behavior.

Vile posters feed on attention and scandal. Take that away and they wither and die. While deleting their comments might be a reasonable alternative, I have doubts because it is such comments that bring out the best in the community showing our solidarity when one of us is threatened. The attacked poster feels less threatened and accosted when everyone rallies in a (virtual) group hug.

Thank you, Marta, for another stellar recap!

Although I've been a sporadic lurker of late, I want to suggest something about Isabruja and her asides. Her aside comments to the audience draw us into her confidence, connecting us to her, which may explain this paradox: we despise her actions, but we love her character. She recognizes us, the audience, and she includes us into the drama, the only character to do so, which makes us identify with her - in a twisted way.

Dorian Gray said, "You will always be fond of me. I represent to you all the sins you never had the courage to commit.” Similarly, beautiful, well-educated, polished Isabruja attracts us and, by her asides, invites us into her sinful machinations, making us empathize with her.

(Hey, perhaps she has a portrait in a spare room that records all of her internal corruption on her external likeness!)

Anyhoo, just a thought . . .

EB, I agree on your take of Isabela and tickled when she let's me into her confidence, knowing, both she and I, I can do nothing about it.

Salvador, i like your reference to Westley from Princess bride. Cary Elwes was definitely unforgettable there as were Billy Crystal, Manny Patinkin (sp?) as Emilio and Andre the Giant.

Salvador, i think it was you who asked for the youtube search string... try 'mi corazon es tuyo capitulo xxx'
there are several threads, and it is confusing since some threads consider capitulo 170 three episodes ahead of another thread... so you need to use a single thread's syntax.
either 'mi corazon es tuyo capitulo xxx' or 'mi corazon es tuyo capitulo xxx y/4' this other person breaks them down into four 10 min or so videos per episode.

so also be careful... the current episodes are in the 160s in some threads but if you open the threads that have the same episode numbers but from another subscription lead, you might be 3 episodes and be opening a spoiler by accident. stick with same poster(subscription).

you might be 3 episodes and
sorry, meant 'you might be 3 episodes ahead'

yes there is a spoiler in the PEE article link from Variopinta.

sorry, make that 'mi corazon es tuyo capitulo xxx completo' and if it says it is private, watch other mcet videos that are not blocked and then try that one again... sometimes it shows after initially showing 'private' notice

and I echo what others have commented about Caray Caray not being a place where personal attacks are welcome, either personal against other bloggers or recappers (OMG, we all do this out of our own love for the novela, for crying out loud!, UA spends about 10 hrs per episode working on the recap, should be praised, not criticized. I have spent countless hours transcribing and translating YSBLF, Cafe, CS'93, etc plus the recap work) so no we don't appreciate negative feedback on our VOLUNTARY work.

and i agree that ability to erase attacking/offensive posts is nice, I also agree that ignoring and not coming to the same level with the attackers also steals their fuel...

I do the posting/recapping for fun... try to squeeze in with a schedule filled with family and job duties. So I tend to ignore anything that gets too offensive or personal and focus on sharing the positive and having healthy unanimous and/or 'agree to disagree' discussions.

Good catch on the nanny nickname jokes...
so so far we got Fernano (from Ana's dream) and Nannydo and Fananny.

this novela has CERTAINLY had more than its share of wackos... either permanent ones like our villains Isa and Freeky, or temporary ones like Manuela and Ximena. anyone else i am missing?

and the problem with delusional people, villains in particular, is that they become so random in their actions that they are unpredictable other than raising the alert/defcon setting on their potential victims.

Which makes life easier for writers whether they are extending a series or they're just plain indecisive.

some words that come to mind about the episodes to come:
headphones/earplugs a must
grab-bag of cute and nasty
circus
cheesy
crazy/wacko
ugly/disgusting

with the typical TN dose of WTH and beanie moments

btw if anyone is interested the final ep of La que no podia amar showing at midnite on Univision is tonight. no idea what comes next week at midnite time slot.

Ana is far more stunning than Isabruja. Isabruja has a very simple face. She looks like an ordinary white girl. She could also stand to lose some weight on those meaty saddle bags. I thought she was near 50 in true life, I was surprised to learn she is in her early 40's. I am not sure why they constantly dress down Ana, probably because she is too much competition for Isa.

Did anybody see "Julie" pole dance on 'Modern Family "

Anon, I agree with you that if Ana wore same quality clothes she would leave Isa in the dust in the attraction department (IMO).

Salvador, in case you're interested, tonight's ep is 153 so for tonight's ep you would search for 'Mi corazon es tuyo capitulo 153 completo'

Woe Marta

Univision usually doesn't allow their novelas to be posted on YouTube, DailyMotion, etc. They claim copyright infringement.

Maybe their policy is changing. It almost isn't worth paying for Hulu because their uploading schedule is so erratic and sometimes it takes days for them to post an episode.

Sorry that I incorrectly identified Kirby as the commenter to Victoria. Many sincere apologies to you Kirby and to others for my error.

But please, everyone, keep personal attacks off this site.

Let's enjoy our discussion, learning new things from others, increasing our Spanish vocabulary or initiation to Spanish, and all other wonderful Caray Caray things.
