Que Te Perdone Dios, Cap #27: What Was Lost Is Found

Cap #27

At the rancho de Angeles, aka, Renata’s crib, aka Fausto’s Rack ‘n Roll ‘Em, Macaria pulls a fast one on both Com. Efrain Barragan and Fausto by handing over to the old cop the gun that was used to cap Pablo Ramos in the forehead all those many years ago—and what more secure and more ironic a place than right under the old cop's nose?  It’s for taking the effort and time to dig into Pablo’s years’ old case, she proffers.  (Viewerville is taking bets on how long it takes the old coot to get the itch to check the gun against the bullet pulled out of Pablo’s skull—if he accepts it.)  She tells him that Feisty Fisty-cuffs gave it to her out of the goodness of his heart as a means of protection right after she came home with her darling little baby girl.  It is from his rare pistol collection.

Fisty-cuffs goes along with Mac and offers the collector's item up in recognition of his “charitable” good works.  “—No, I couldn’t.  I’m only doing my duty, folks.”  (Viewerville lets out a communal groan.)  Renata walks in at that moment needing to talk to Efrain.  Mac takes it back with her, as Fisty-cuffs de Feisty’s glued on smile starts to quiver a bit and droop.

However, Mac’s threat to let Feisty’s wife leave has been received loud and clear.  Fausto takes the uncomfortable pause in Ren’s speech to “explain” to Ef that his wife’s got important bidnez in Ciudad de Valle the next morning and will be gone for a while tending to it.  He therefore wants to insure her safety by having Ef “personally escort” her there.  Ef looks a bit puzzled but accepts, of course.

In town at Tia Mia Montero’s it’s breakfast.  Tía is laying another guilt trip on Diana over her lackadaisical attitude regarding getting Di’s criminal of a cousin out of jail.  She’s not in the mood.  Talk to the hand, Polar Bear.  (Gawd, who wears a mink collar to breakfast?  Don’t answer that!)

Back at Ren’s, Mateo has just finished examining Constance.  He determines that Crazy Connie is suffering from agoraphobia and cannot handle going outdoors because she’s frightened of large spaces.  He makes the mistake of changing the subject to his Tía Ren and wonders why she’s taken so long to decide to dump his womanizing “uncle.”  “—I mean with him fooling around with woman all over the place!”  “--Oh, you mean like your girlfriend, Diana?”  He gets angry and defends DeeDee, saying he saw with his own eyes Feisty passionately embracing her aunty, not Diana!  He’s been with Di to hide his affair with her aunt! Abigail insists that was a setup, more than likely.  Mat blows her off and says he figures that Abi’d do anything to prevent him from marrying La Princesa de Di.

In town, Simona is worried that her younger son hasn’t returned home yet and it’s very late.  Tony gets worried also, but just then there’s a knock at the door and Little Bro is there with Motor.  Motor and Tony head off for the Cougar Sisters’ place.  Lil Bro, Alfredo, explains how he went in search of work and found the new priest, who offered him a job.

The solution to Crazy Connie’s fits is to drug her and take her off in an ambulance.  Mat figures she’ll get the best treatment in CdV.  Ef wonders how she’ll handle things when she wakes up and realizes that she isn’t in her hacienda.  Ren tells Mat that she’s invited Helena to join her in CdV as her companion and that she’s accepted.

The Cougar Sisters go through the same after-dinner dance with each other and ready themselves for another romp in the sheets with their toy-boys.  The two Cougar’s meet each other unexpectedly in the upstairs hall and try making excuses regarding drinks to “settle” the stomach or whatever.  Unfortunately Motor heads into the hall without realizing the other sister’s still chatting there.  Then Toni opens his door--and then everybody’s got some ‘splainin’ to do!  The four chalk it up to chance and decide they don’t care, that they’ll all go into CdV together the next morning to enjoy themselves since it’s the best place to go unnoticed on a double date.

Ren and the rest of the gang get rolling in the ambulance after saying their good-bye’s to Diego and Benito. Ef drives Ren’s car and the cavalcade heads out.
Afterward, Benito makes the effort to comfort Mac by offering his assistance and she laughs in his face and slams the door.  Inside, Fisty-cuffs has a fit (tho’ his selfish tears are not lost on Viewerville) and he throws around the furniture while Mac enjoys a malevolent giggle outside his closed office door cuz now he is all hers…..all hers! (And welcome to him, bitch!)

The next morning, Simona campaigns while Feisty visits with the Mayor.  He fibs about Ren’s leaving to stay in CdV because she’s depressed that she hasn’t been able to get pregnant.   Marcelino warns him that whatever the reason might be, get ready! The town will consider that she’s left him, no matter what.

In the townhouse de lujo de CdV, Ren now remembers her father’s laying down the law to her and telling her that the only way she could ever return home with that baby was to give it up and let Macaria adopt her as its unwed mother.  Later, after Hellie, Abi and Ren enjoy a few niceties, they discover that Crazy Connie’s flown the coop.  All Hell breaks loose and they get Dr. Pats, Mat, and Com. Ef involved in a search that goes nowhere fast.

Crazy Connie makes it into the CdV town square, still in search of the ever-elusive Bruno’s support and assistance.  That’s where The Cougar Sisters and their Toy-boys recognize her and decide what they should do with her, obviously unaware of Ren’s having left her hubby and the rancho for good.

This is also the day when the jail is transferring their prisoners to the prison.  Tia’s jerk of a son, Julio, is among them.  As Fate would have it, there’s a deadly crash on the highway and Julio and his cellmate make it out of the wrecked van alive.  The other guy grabs the dead guard’s gun and forces Julio to take him with him since he’s from around those parts, and he knows people who should be able to help them escape to South America.  Why should I, asks this gem of a mother’s son?  “--Cuz you owe me,” answers the cellmate.  (Why else, right?)

With Ef and Dr. Pats on the way, Abi and Mat hop into his sporty little no-name sedan and hit the streets in search of Ren’s dotty mamacita.

Padre Tomas shows up at Feisty’s front door, introduces himself as Padre Francisco’s nephew and the new town priest, and then scares the be-Jesus outta him and Lucio, saying that he wants to know about his uncle’s accident.  They fawn all over the new padre and offer their help.  (If you need to find fault, perhaps it’s the mechanic who screwed up.  Right…..)  Well, he’s the big honcho in town and Tom hopes to rely on him to help him with his flock.  (Big mistake, Padre Tom.  Big mistake!)

Ef arrives at the CdV townhouse and gets a photo to give to the local authorities.  On his way out of there he runs into Dr. Pats on his humble-bumbling crutches.  Pats got the word from Mat and he’s there cuz he’s a close friend of the family.  Ef isn’t too happy about Dr. Pats hanging around the place.  Hubby Fausto should be the one at her side, not you, intimates the well-meaning Comandante.  Dr. Pats is suspiciously upset when he insists to Ef that Don Fausto shouldn’t have a thing to do with this situation, not a thing!  We learn from Ef that Doña Ren said the same thing.  (What’s of course absent from all this for Ef and all your newbies is the reason why.)

Mayor Marcelino looks after his own.  He pulls rank on the police dude in charge of the paperwork regarding Padre Francisco’s car accident and sees to things personally since Com. Barragan is currently on a case out of town.  They by rights should wait for him, shouldn’t they, the policeman naively asks?  Marcelino squashes the dude like a bug and grabs the papers.  He outranks Barragan and what he says goes!  They’ll proceed with the arrest!

In the meantime, the Cougar Sisters have made their decision about what to do with Crazy Connie.  If it was the wrong decision, well too bad.  It was done with the best of intentions.  Anyway, they all better watch their p’s and q’s from now on, cuz they don’t want the town knowing what in the way of naughty nookie they’ve been up to recently.

Back at the townhouse, Dr. Pats finally has time alone with Renata.  He tells her how shocked he was to hear from Mat that she’d actually left her hubby, especially after their last convo.  “—Did you do it for me, Renata?”  (No such luck, Doc.  And what’s the rush?  I mean, the woman’s crazy mama has just gone missing and you only think of yourself!!)  “—No!  I did it for myself!  Got it? And for my daughter.  Besides, I am really upset about my mother.  Could we table this topic?”  Sure.  (Eww!  Given the blow off! Dr. Pats is all shades of red, but it’s been a decade or so of doin’ without so we probably shouldn’t fault the guy for being a bit…er… on the eager side.)

Ren mentions her guilt at not watching over her mother as carefully as she should have.  (You got a point there, Ren.)  Dr. Pats comforts her, putting his arms around her just as ol’ Ef walks back in without having bothered to knock.   (I know, I know.  NOBODY in Telenoveladom ever locks their door.)  Ef eyes them suspiciously and remembers Fausto telling him that he knows Ef to be discreet, and then his telling him how his wife had an affair with Pablo Ramos.

Back in the little pueblo of San Whatever, Alfredo speaks ill of Lucio and Don Fausto.  Padre Tom reprimands him just as Meliton walks in to greet him.  Meli tells him that the kid, Alfi, is right as rain about those two.   “--Fausto is as evil as the smell of the Devil’s own hoof!  Lucio is even worse!”  Old Home Time follows with hugs of welcome.

Back at Ren’s rancho, Feisty and Lucio discuss the possible threat Padre Tom’s nosing around could cause them.  Feisty sniffs and says that priest won’t be any more problem than his uncle was.  If so, he’ll meet the same fate as his uncle.  Problem solved.  They meet up with Mac afterward in the living room of the hacienda.  Vicenta has no idea of what they’re all about, she tells them. “—Well, make sure that nobody sees you!”

The Cougar sisters discuss Fausto’s strange reaction to them when he saw them.  What does it matter?  They did what they had to and what was the right thing to do.

Toy Boys discuss their successfully returning to town without being found out.  Motor, tho’, is worried about Doña Constanza.  Tony warns him not to meddle in other people’s affairs and races off to work before his mother gives him a kick in the pantalones.  Just then the cops come to arrest Motor for the wrongful death of Padre Frank.  (Looks like Mayor Marc has been busy covering certain suspecious persons’ ass-ets.)

In CdV once again, Mat and Abi arrive back at Ren’s townhouse after a fruitless search.  She’s weeping in his arms, worrying about what her madrina will think now that they haven’t found a trace of Crazy Connie anywhere.  Diego drives up and witnesses this.  His little green monster is alive and well, but he manages to keep it under control as he tells them hello.

Back at the old homestead, Mac, it would seem, has a new houseguest.  She chucks the teary, bleary-eyed Crazy Connie, bathrobe and all, unceremoniously into the little house’s living room.  “—This is your new home—at least until we decide what to do with you!”

Thank you Jardinera! Hilarious point that yes, "Ren should have 'watched' over her mother better"!

Mostly I found this episode boring (but not the recap). Ren is always being noble, or suffering, or nobly suffering. The drive through town looking for Crazy Con. What was with the soundtrack? Such anguish as Mat drives and Abi peers out the window. The shots of the town were nice, though.

I agree about Eager Pat. He really showed how much he cared about the missing mom! He was probably happy for the excuse it provided to hobble right over.

Simona makes the most bland, generalized campaign promises. All the time. How is she going to help every last citizen? Who needs the help? What kind of help?

I thought the townhouse de lujo was really elegant. But yeah, what's with the police chief, or anybody, just walking right in?

I guess the prison break was a good step forward. And the new situation with Crazy Constance could get interesting. Hopefully she will be gagged, when not eating or drinking (see, I'm not all bad!). I'm sorry, but she is unbearable.

The Cougar sisters are a yawn. At least they served as a plot device in the episode. And only one of those boy toys is cute.

What I most want to see for now is the relationship with Lucio and his son, Mat getting a clue about Lady Die, and what Julio will be doing to make everybody's lives worse!

Thank you Jardinera for a great recap of last nights episode. Ren didn't do a very good job or should have done a better of looking after her mother had me smiling.

So Motor gets arrested for the padre's murder. I didn't see that coming. Why is this guy a suspect?
Oh right, he was the mechanic that worked on the padre's car but
was the car ever inspected after the accident? I don't think so.

So Macaria showed the police chief the murder weapon and nothing at all came of it. The chief didn't even take it in for testing. QUE???

Finally Renata got herself out of there. Will devil dog follow her and jump on her in her new location/house?

I can't wait for Mateo to catch devil dog in a hot embrace with Lady Di.

Thanks, Jardinera! This was superb. What a frustrating episode. Renata gets away, and isn't even gone a day before 1) she has to worry about Crazy Connie flying the coop, and 2) she's suspected of being an adulterous ho by someone who is/was a good ally.

Gringo- Barragan does not know the gun is the murdre weapon. Mac was just toying with Fausto. She presented the gun as a gift to the police chief, as a thank you for taking such interest in the case of her beloved Pablo's murder. She made up that story of how Fausto "gave" it to her to protect herself after her beloved disappeared all those years ago. Fausto then offered the chief an even nicer gun from him collection. He turned them both down, obviously thinking it was a nice (if strange) gesture on both their parts.

The car WAS examined. That's the report the cop brought to the mayor. That's why motor was arrested because the report showed that the car had been tampered with, causing the accident.

Jardinera, this was an excellent recap. I did not see the episode but felt I missed nothing due to your sharp, clear eye for detail.

"humble-bumbling crutches" and "Feisty Fisty-cuff" had me smiling away.

I am relieved to hear Renata got away and it sounds as though Mac is to thank. Well, I'm not quite ready to do that but I'm grateful Renata will not have to endure the rapist Fausto one moment longer. Too bad her mother escaped to spoil things.

Sorry I missed Julio/Fabian. I might have to tune in to see what he is up to.

I suppose I should care that Motor was arrested? He and the sisters leave me cold so...

Thank you for this fine recap!

My favorite line was "Gawd, who wears a mink collar to breakfast? Don't answer that!"

At first I didn't understand what Marcelino was doing but now I understand he was giving the order to arrest Motor.

How convenient that Rubio aka Julio escaped because of that accident. Wonder what will happen to him. Where will he go?

I was shocked nothing came out of Mac showing the gun to Barragan. And now she's got Connie! Oh no!

Thanks for this hilarious recap Jardinera. Excellent.

TN4ever,

"Simona makes the most bland, generalized campaign promises. All the time."

Well, better than the "Let's get even with the men" tone she initially set. I think her best bet might be to simply say, "Vote for me... I'm not Fausto."

The new padre said that his uncle had always been a careful driver; then I wonder why he didn't bother to buckle-up... he flew right through the windshield. Of course had he buckled-up he would have perished when the car exploded. I guess it just wasn't his day.

Diana---I care. No one should have to go to jail when they are innocent. Not even this un interesting guy. He could end up rotting in jail while Lucio runs around still doing evil things. Devil dog y Lucio are two disciples of satan.
the gringo

gringo, my remarks were meant to be humorous/sarcastic about Motor. I guess I didn't do a good job...

Just catching up and wanted to say what a great recap you wrote for us. I liked how you covered everything. Except for a few things, the episode was super boring.

I glad to say that this version is deviating from the previous version, AMF with FC, CE, VR, and AA. This producer is the same one that did LQLVMR which also was different than AR.

As far as Mac's trick with the gun, boy I didn't see that coming. What a neat trick. I thought Fausto was going to sh*t bricks! !! What an expression on his face !

So Mateo goes ahead with his plans to marry Diana after leading Abigail on. I'm liking Diego more and more.

Boy is the new Padre good looking with those mesmerizing blue eyes! !
