Tue 2/3/15 #119 Hasta el Fin del Mundo – Chava “El Choferete” Cruz battles Greta “La Ogra” Ripoll; special appearance by Benito el Pigleto

That ain’t no K-Mart Special
Pawnbroker informs a very surprised Lupe that the bracelet is 18k gold!  Lupe had no idea and now doesn’t want to pawn it if it’s that expensive.

Meanwhile, scumbag Javier figures there are other fish in the sea.  If Lupita won’t have him, he’ll find someone else.  He dials up his old standby, Isa-idiota.  He really lays it on thick (Sra. Bonita, etc. etc.) but we don’t hear Isa’s side of the conversation.

Empresa Ripoll
Sofia speaks to Sr. Landa and tells him Chava found out about her plan to help pay for repairs to Patotas.  He’s very sorry and apologizes on behalf of his secretary.  Sofia is ok with it, it just wasn’t meant to be.  She knows Chava is determined to get this done on his own.  She hopes Landa will continue to help Chava and of course he will.  He’s very confident in Chava’s driving skills and respects his character.

Lugar de Cuco -WBB
Rosa is putting up the poster for Wonder Bread Band and Cuco is impressed.  She asks him to get Lucas’ thoughts about the poster.  Plus, she wants to see him

Empresa Ripoll
Marisol and Lucas stroll hand in hand – They discuss Araceli’s birthday bash.  Lucas isn’t sure his abuela will attend.  He gets the call from Cuco.  Can he come by later to check out the poster.  Marisol insists Rosa is a “Vieja resbalosa” (slippery old lady= shady  jaja).  She’s miffed that he jumps when she calls.  She’s sure Rosa is up to no good.

Neighborhood – Lupe Sings the Blues
Paco and Lupita meet on the street.  Lupe is distressed but doesn’t tell him why.  She just says she’ll bring the food later for Aracely’s dinner and starts to walk away.  But Lupe’s too upset and blurts out that she’s been really stupid (zonza).  She thought Javier had really changed (when all of Viewerville knew he really hadn’t) and even made her doubt her feelings for Paco.  Paco tries to calm her down and explain.  She tells him about The Big Lie that Javier “found” that stupid bracelet somewhere – she’s upset he didn’t even buy it!  She can’t believe she was completely taken in by his lies: that he had stopped his boracheras, stopped his womanizing.  But noooooooo, he’s the same old liar that he’s always been.  She realizes how dumb she must seem, having been impressed by the bracelet.  How many years had she waited, hoping he would give her any little gift.  That’s why she was so excited when he gave her the bracelet, thinking her dreams had finally been fulfilled when in reality, those dreams were long dead.  Paco tells her not to torment herself over this.  “How sad,” she laments, “that Javier only needed to put his arm around me and I would believe all his lies.”  Paco observes she only wanted to believe.  To top it off (rematar), she finds Javier saw nothing wrong in keeping something he had found (finders/keepers).  She tells him about her visit to the pawnbroker.  She plans on giving it back to Javier – she doesn’t want any part of it.  Paco agrees that would be best.  Lupita knows she really ruined things between her and Paco but what’s done is done.  She wants him to know she still thinks he’s a wonderful man and is sorry this separated them. He’s sorry too.  Awkward!  Paco asks if Chava is coming to the dinner.  Aracely would be happy to see him there.  They finally say their awkward goodbyes.

Empresa Ripoll – The Ice Princess is on Fire!
Sofia is working away when Patricio slithers in asking if she’d like to discuss pending business issues.  Sofia coldly suggests he send her an e-mail.  Why so cold? he asks, then says this isn’t like her.  Maybe she picked up  a maña (bad habit) learned from someone else (meaning Chava). Sofia wonders why he’d be so surprised at her less than cordial behavior after he influenced her mother and associates to force her to put up with him.  She fails to see the advantage of having him around.  Fine, he says, if she wants war, so be it.  Nothing she does will force him out of there.  Her mother has a lot of confidence that he will continue to protect her from that arribista  (social climber).  Sofia sees red! The only person she needs protection from is him!  And by the way, she wants him to steer clear of Sylvana as she is also determined to end whatever disagreeable entanglement she may have with him.  Patricio maintains he’s never gone near Syvlana.  He claims he’s came prepared to call a truce, but it’s clear to him she still has her guard up.  She makes it clear she will only feel at ease when he is gone from the Empresa!

Matias slaves away over a hot microwave as Irais stalks him from the hallway, ogling him from behind the window.  Jobeth surprises her, coming for a handout.  Irais is protecting her claim on Matias, admits she lurves him.  blah, blah blah FF>>

Don Manuel’s Garage
Chava recalls Patricio’s taunts when he told him Greta’s opinion of Chava.  He gets a call from Lupita telling him about Aracely’s birthday bash.  He doesn’t feel comfortable going but his jefecita insists.

Casa Ripoll – The Knight Battles the fire-breathing Dragon
Chava pays a call on Greta.  Fausto has his misgivings but admits him anway.  Seriously, Chava wants to change her mind about him, and he shows up like that?  yeeesh   Upstairs, Greta tells Iker she feels really great with the new medication.  Iker devilishly thinks to himself, “At least until I switch it out.”   Greta is none too pleased to hear Chava has come for a visit.  She tells Fausto to advise him she is not in.  Fausto shames her into seeing him.

Chava feels it would be good to clear the air about his relationship with Sofia.  Oh, Greta is very clear how she feels this relationship will end up.  Goldilocks will end up disappointed, in ruins!  Chava delivers a low blow, saying not everyone is meant to suffer the same disappointments as Greta.  Greta is angry to learn Sofia must have shared her story with him.  This is very personal, meant for family only!   He’s not here to judge her.  He wants her to know his love with Sofia is more powerful than outward appearances or money.  Yeah, sure, says Greta.
Chava:  Don’t judge Sofia for giving in to love, a true love that I offer her.
Oooh, Greta is angry and nearly spits at him to get the hell out.
Chava: I don’t understand your attitude.  Your youthful mistakes should help you to support and understand your daughter.
Greta: Don’t try to manipulate me as you have Sofia.  You, Salvador Cruz, are a smooth operator (vivales), only after money.  Listen well, you will never, never, see one centavo of the Ripoll fortune.  (How do you really feel, suegra!) You’ve always looked for a way to make your life easier.  Up to now, you’ve gotten your way but you’re not fooling me.
Chava: Patricio is the only vivales here.  He’s nothing but a well-dressed scoundrel.
Greta:  How can you speak that way of a man who has supported this family through its most trying times.
Chava: Pato is nothing less than a wolf in sheep’s clothing who will one day reward them with his bite.
Greta:  You speak ill of someone only to further your own devious plans.  I offered you money at one time to leave Sofia alone.  Now I understands why you refused the money.  You want it all.
Chava:  I hope that someday you will get to know the real Chava and understand I could care less about money.  On the contrary, I would rather Sofia had nothing.  Money has only been a reason for the whole world to try and separate us.
Greta:  You’ll never rise to Sofia’s (social) standing. You’re living in a dream.
Chava:  That’s right. An dream of lurve.  Knowing I’ve found the most wonderful person in the world and that nothing will separate us.  Because our love is stronger than any obstacle put in our way.”
Greta:  Ugh. Spare me your discourse of lurve.  That’s why I’ve arranged for Pato to return to the Empresa.  This way, we can both keep an eye on Sofia and prevent her from acting on any ill advised plan from an arribista like YOU!
Chava: If you think Patricio will succeed in separating me and Sofia, you are very mistaken.  If necessary, I am willing to give my life’s blood to make her happy and she knows it.
Greta: She may think that’s happiness.  Well, I don’t doubt that when reality hits, she will realize the madness she’s bought into.
Chava:  It’s a shame her own mother doesn’t understand her.  If you would approve our relationship, it would complete her well-deserved happiness.
Greta:  Nice move, Mr. Cruz – appealing to a mother’s love to win me over to your side.  Save the sentimental threats!
Chava:  I would like nothing more than to get along with you but I’m not losing any sleep over it.  Because I know that sooner or later, I will win you over and show you I’m not the low-life you believe me to be and that my only goal is your daughter’s happiness.

He finally leaves.  It looks as though Fausto heard everything from his perch in the hallway.  He tells Chava not to give up.  He assures Chava he doesn’t share Greta’s opinion of him.  He’s seen how happy he makes Sofia and is overjoyed at their reconciliation.  He urges Chava to protect Sofia from Pato.  No need to remind him.  Chava intends on keeping a watchful eye on Pato.  As soon as Pato slips up, Greta  will not hesitate to fire him.

Empressa Ripoll – where no one works
Alexa catches Dani singing in her office.  Alexi shares she’s spent the entire day with the dream come true, actor Paolo Elizondo.  Ostras! Squeals of happiness!  Sofia apparently heard the commotion.  Alexa fills her in and the squealing continues.  In the middle of congratulating her sister, Sofia manages to throw in a little sisterly advice to cease and desist in the pursuit of Armando until he’s single.  Alexa deftly (well, maybe not so deftly) changes the subject and says she’ll invite them to the set.   More high-fives.  Dani-downer reminds them Greta is not too keen on Alexa pursuing a career in action after the Alan fiasco.  Ostras!  Alexa wants to hide it from Greta so she won’t get all verklempt.  Sofia thinks mommie-dearest conveniently uses her stress to manipulate everyone to the point where Pato is now back on the job.

Lugar de Cuco – Green Eyed Monster pays a call
Lucas and Marisol check out the poster.  He loves it, she hates it.  Rosa is bummed but Lucas tells her he loves it and thanks her.  Who’s gonna pay for all these posters?  Rosa offers but Lucas pulls out some bills and tries to hand them to her.  Marisol sees this as a little hanky panky and accuses Rosa of going after her man.  Ay, Marisol.  Everyone’s embarrassed and Rosa assures her she’s never thought of Lucas in that way.  Marisol gets really ugly, pointing out how Rosa is always touchy feely with Lucas.  Cuco finally tells her to put a sock in it and Lucas agrees.  Marisol won’t let it go, calling Rosa a cradle robber (asalta-cunas).  Rosa speaks up, saying she only wanted to help out.  If they don’t want her help, she’s out.  Lucas turns on Marisol, saying Rosa only wants what’s best for them.

Empresa Ripol
Alexa steals Armie away from his duties (I know, what else is new) and shares her excitement about Paolo.  Que te lo digo yo (only one today)  Armie’s very happy for her.  Alexa will be very busy filming so she won’t have time to worry about him living with Irma.  He tells her living with Irma is getting more and more difficult.  Irma is insupportable.  YAWN………  Alexa tells him not to be so hard on himself.  He’s such a nice guy, there’s no way he could leave a woman helpless in a wheelchair.  Yeah, but he knows that’s the reason he can’t be with Alexa.  He agrees with Chava, perhaps he’s really screwing up everything.  Alexa tries to console him but says it does bother her that they’re in the same house and bed.  Armie quickly clarifies the sleeping arrangements. He sleeps with Nandito or on the couch.  Alexa can see he no longer has feelings for Irma.  Armie on the other hand is feeling imprisoned in a situation that keeps him from being with Alexa and he doesn’t know when his sentence will be over.  Alexa reminds him love conquers all.  Armie doesn’t understand why Irma isn’t getting better even though she does all her exercises.  Alexa suggests he take Irma in for evaluation.

Garage
Chava discusses Patotas’ health with Don Manuel.  If only it had an engine like the one in the car he’s working on.  He sees an article on Zimmerman in the magazine Automovil and gets the idea of asking Z-man for help.

Empresa Ripoll
Fausto is on the phone with Sofia, giving her the low-down on the talk between Greta and Chava.  Sofia’s happy to hear how Chava defended their love.  Fausto wonders where are all the men like Chava.  They surely broke the mold when they made him.  Pato comes up in the conversation and Sofia remembers her anger at having him back at work. She doesn’t understand how he is able to manipulate her mother.

Lugar de Cuco
Lucas isn’t done scolding Marisol.  He’s upset at how she insulted Rosa.  Marisol isn’t giving in and insists Rosa is too touchy-feely with him.  He insists she only touched his hands.  Yeah, says Marisol, but that’s only the beginning.  Lucas cries foul, saying it isn’t fair that she insult someone due to her imaginary jealousies.  He wants Marisol to apologize to Rosa.  No way.  Lucas tells her he’s not too keen on having a girlfriend who insults people just because.  He insists she apologize, or he’ll apologize for them both.  Marisol grudgingly gives in, but only because she doesn’t want him to be mad at her.  Lucas is really steamed.

Rosa is crying and Cuco says he warned her this would happen.  Lucas and Marisol walk up and she apologizes half-heartedly, rolling her eyes.  Lucas offers to make the copies so she doesn’t have to bother. Marisol still gets between them though and hugs Lucas, claiming her man.

Don Manuel’s Garage
Chava tells Manuel about Z-man and how he saved his life during a race.  He’s calls Z-man in Argentina but he’s not in and leaves an urgent message.

He gets a call from Sofia instead.  She offers dinner but he tells her he’s expected at Aracely’s dinner.  She understands because she’s such a wonderful gf.  Sofia isn’t happy but cheers up when she gets a text from Chava.  “Te Amo Hasta el Fin del Mundo”

Aracely’s Birthday Bash
Benito el Pigleto makes an appearance.  He only needs to get close to Irma and he starts squealing.  Aracely is her usual lump on a log, hoping and sighing, wondering if Chava will show up.  ugh.  Paco is concerned but he has a surprise for her.

Empresa Ripoll
Dani speaks to Ollie.  He’s surprised she’s working late and he’s very proud of her.  He’s proud of her commitment and solidarity to her sisters and that’s why he loves her.  Ruh-roh, he used the L-word and it makes her uncomfortable.  Good thing they were speaking on the phone.  There’s no mistaking the body language.

Birthday Bash
Marisol and Lucas arrive with a gift.  Aracely immediately asks for Chava, who arrives shortly thereafter.  He gives her a birthday hug and she’s oh so happy.  He tells her he just came by to wish her a happy birthday and he’s back to work.  Both Armie and Aracely insist he stay to eat.  Aracely sits next to Chava with her hand comfortably on his knee.  ugh  Another knock on the door and it’s Pedro!  Aracely tries to hide behind her hand.

Emresa Ripoll
Noemi advises Sofia that Rafael Silveti is there and urgently wants to see her. Ruh-roh.  Rafael barges into her office, loaded for bear.  “You’ve got a lot of nerve sending me a contaminated product!”  Sofia is open-mouthed impactada, “What?”  “That’s right, the chocolate is contaminated with pesticide!”  Sofia gives it the ol’ sniff test and quickly realizes the man is not exaggerating.  Rafael, “I had come to believe you were very different.  I am going to sue Chocolate Ripoll!”  Tan-tan-TAN

note:  Did I count only 1 "Que te lo digo yo"?  Did I miss one?

I'd like to take a minute to LMAO at and point out that Marjorie and Cesar were both evil and lovers (I think) in Mariana de la Noche.

Paquita. Thanks for such a wondrous and entertaining recap. It was very enjoyable. Loved "Benito el pigleto".
There was only ONE "que te lo digo yo". Another thanks for joining in the count!

Somehow you get the feeling that Alexa is going to have no problem with Armando having to take his own sweet time leaving Irma's with Paolo on the scene to "entertain" her.

Chava never learns. How stupid to show up at Araceli's ("lump on a log" perfect descrition)bday party: he's only feeding her obsession with him. She and Irma are so similar. They are both nuts.

The most annoying part was having to hear over and over again about how upset Greta was. I almost hope Iker would be successful with his murder plans just not to have to listen to her egocentric rantings one more time.

How long did it take Silveti to get to Mexico City to tell Sofía he was suing the company???? Did he try to take a bus? Lol.

Jarifa

Greta spewing her hatred for Chava doesn't surprise me: I'm surprised she doesn't hire a hitman to kill him!

JoBeth is likely going to drug Matias & sleep with him if she hasn't already!

Not that ANY of us give a flying duck at a rolling donut,,,, Dani doesn't really care for Dulliver. Lucas doesn't really care for pissy little bitch Chavessa. Lucas still loves Dani....who has loved Lucas since she surrendered her virginity to him. Marisol, Irma, and Araceli need to get an apartment together and leave the humans alone.

And looks like the excrement has contacted the atmospheric evacuator. Ruc Roh. Pesticide recipient pays a personal visit to announce the pending lawsuit.

Paquita, this was excellent. Your summary was superb and your conversation translations were very helpful. Your embedded vocabulary was a treat.

“That ain’t no K-Mart Special” amd “Matias slaves away over a hot microwave” were among my favorites.

“Marisol insists Rosa is a “Vieja resbalosa” (slippery old lady= shady jaja). She’s miffed that he jumps when she calls”. Marisol is sour and dour. She is a harpy who is never happy. She will be ruing the day she accused Rosa of being a cougar.

Jarifa "I almost hope Iker would be successful with his murder plans just not to have to listen to her egocentric rantings one more time" made me smile. Greta and Marisol have many virtues in common. None of them good ones!

I felt badly for Lupe. Yes, she certainly should have known better but fear she had to learn this hard lesson to accept the truth. I still feel she and Paco are best as friends. I'm not sure how many more episodes of this there are but I can't imagine Paco and Greta ever getting together.

Kirby, one quick look at Dani's face after Dulliver's admission showed her true feelings. She and Lucas are trying to convince themselves they care about him and Marisol, but they are bound to each other. I feel sorry for Oliver though - he is a nice guy who simply will finish last.

Thanks again Paquita!

Diana

Paquita this is awesome as usual

"Lupe Sings the Blues"
Wow, the nerve, to sing your lament to the man you shat upon. And, the wiener stood there.

What Salvador did by going to see Greta is no different than what Pat did barging into Sofia's office. To gloat!

Marisol is one insecure little girl and it's tiresome.

Araceli trying to make small when Pedro showed up was fun nay.

A flight from Buenos Aires to Mexico City will take almost 10 hours

Thanks for all the details, Paquita.

Yay, the contaminated chocolate story is getting it's due!

Lucas, you should've dumped Marisol on the spot. But it is sad how insecure/foolish Marisol and her mum are. Paco, you keep your distance from Lupe too. As bad as Greta is (and that's pretty bad!), she's still more tolerable than Lupe.

Marisol was a little stinking turd when she first got interested in Lucas. Remember how she was toward Dani when D and Lucas were just barely broken up. We actually have not seen much of anything good from her. I'm voting for an anvil special delivery.

WOW...! ! Loopy, Airacelly, Irkme, Marisol (aka Slap Me) does not say a lot for the poor girls in this town does it? Compared to the rich girls I think I'd take a rich one if given a choice. All that money is just icing on the cake.

One more thing. No offense Fausto, but I don't know which one is more adorable, Benito or Fausto. ? ? ?

Thanks for the recap Paquito!

I'm also expecting a big anvil waiting for Marisol with her name on it!

Chava & Armando's incompetence reminds me of Pete Carroll & Dan Bevel: not using their heads correctly & doing stupid play-calling!

@Steve -- couldn't agree with you more!!

Grrrrrrr. Just want to reach into the TV and bitch slap Paprick any Slutvana as they stand there all smug as the world crumples around Sofia. Truly wondered how as all this was going down how Grrreta was securely at home blissfully unaware. IE: not really having the big one we all want. Patprick has the nerve to lecture Sofia and blame her and Chava. Oh how I want to see him get his anvils and jail. Chava is to nice to give Pat Rat a proper beating. I'd love to see Armando eork him over, he's not so sickenly nice.

Kirby, Greta's anvils are coming: promise you that!
