Mi corazon es tuyo #140 Hissabella attacks Ana and Fernando... she swears to split them. Fernando makes an indecent proposal to Ana...

Refritos:

Bruno arrives to Betty’s for a 2nd helping. He is alarmed when she tells him she told Fernando about ‘em, but when he hears Fernando was ok with it he is ready for eh…. Dinner.

Johnny arrives at the kitchen, doorbell rings, Manuela sends him to open the door… it’s Hissabella!! Ready for trapping another craving into her web… she pushes Johnny right into the sofa... for some close-up greeting.

Lo Nuevo:

Johnny is trying hard to resist her… is able to avoid her kisses, but she keeps on pushing and flaunting her desire…

Magda and Angel arrive at some restaurant… she is ready for a romantic night… him, not so much, more like feels like he just needs to go badly…

Johnny is able to get Hissabella off him, only briefly… she swirls herself back on his lap… he is breathing hard… really working on resisting the temptation. He gets to stand up, she keeps flaunting herself as the golden treasure he never dreamed of… he admits she is really gorgeous and desirable, but… she keeps walking him to pin him against the wall/column. She grabs him by the belt loops and invites him to her apartment. He finally ‘gets it’ that the plumbing emergency was intentional of her… he finally gives in to the kisses…

Jen is worried at hime, remembering the conversation with Fanny about being able to adopt a baby only if they’re married. Jen is starting to like the idea of marrying Johnny if he asked her.

Johnny is able to resist and snap away from Hissabella’s grip… she is outraged that he is able to resist her. She is in disbelief when he tells her ‘I don’t think that Jenny will like it if I do this…’

In the kitchen, Soledad and Nando talk to the 5 younger ones… They hear the ruckus in the living room between Hissabella and Johnny… She is throwing things at him… Manuela, Soledad and the kids come out…

M: Everything alright?

J: No, not everything is alright!

Kids at unison : Isabella!!!

The baby is crying and they all hear it through the monitor, Hissabella announces she came to see her beautiful baby… and walks around all the gang right toward the library (why would she go to the library if she is going to see the baby who usually is in Ana’s room??? ) Isabella goes into library, followed by everyone. She breathes green smoke like a train locomotive (with sound effect and all) and launches after Fernando and Ana when she sees them kissing… The kids give Fernando a yell and Fernando is barely able to push Ana and himself out of Hissabella’s way so she lands on the couch… He (concerned) asks her if she’s alright… She says ‘NO! Of course I’m NOT Alright!!’

Ana: what happened?? (to the kids)

Nando: Johnny opened the door to her!

Alicia: And then she came in here and saw you two kissing!

Fernando is still concerned for Hissabella’s emotional status… (he is swinging his hands at her face to see if she follows them, he is also stuttering!!?? LOL!!) tries to get her to sit down and asks Manuela to bring her some water, but she walks out fast angry telling herself ‘I will separate them if it is the last thing I do in my pathetic life!’ (Fernando stares at her, not really knowing what to think about what just happened). Soledad asks if someone knows what just happened.

Angel asks Magda what she is after. She wants him to understand that she realized she made a mistake letting him go. She loves him! She wants them to try again!. Angel adds that she must think that having a new child would turn the page for her on the guilt she feels for the one she lost. She insists she just wants a 2nd chance. Insists she loves him and that she is suffering having lost him and is so sorry to have lost him. She gave him that xmas present to try to get close to him because she knows he is really dreaming of having a family. She insists she loves him. He can only tell her he is not sure if he still loves her. Magda insists… lather… repeat…

Magda changes strategy and has a proposal. She accepts he ‘believes’ he loves Ana. She accepts that he does not trust her or is sure he still loves her. She only wants a 2nd chance to be with him and to give him a child. He rolls his eyes… lather… repeat.

At the house, Fernando has finally come off the surprise trance and Ana sends all the kids to bed. Nando congratulates him one last time. Once they are left alone, they start smiling at each other in a very high school sweethearts-cootie way.

Ximena, for a change, is the listening one for Fanny telling her all about her last not so pleasant encounter with Leon. Fanny explains that she does not want to marry at 19. Maybe our grandparents married at that age, but its 21st cent. Ximena asks ‘are you dating Lenin, no?’ why are you so mad Leon kissed Laura if you…. Fanny insists her kiss with Lenin was ‘equis’ compared to Leon’s kiss with Laura. Fanny questions whose side Ximena is. Ximena says yours of course!... Ximena says sometimes it feels it was not such a great idea for me to come back. Nando told her over phone he did not want to see her for a while.

Ana and Fernando are back in library to continue the ‘movie’… Ana says kids are in bed, the baby is asleep… She needs to talk to Johnny about Jenny and Fernando says he will stay in library to plan some meeting for tomorrow. Cootie-cootie some more, kissy kissy… F: Love you… my gf… love you more… A: love you… my bf… and I thank you for all… love you. (she mumbled something after the kiss I can’t figure out… something about how the kisses taste)

Ana is getting some instructions from Johnny to work the camera and the tramsmitter at Chicago… She notices he is a bit anxious… he tells her its Hissabella… She charged him, launched her full auto-body at him… (se me avento cañon!, me aventó toda la carrocería). Ana gets a call from Dana that Dorofeo will meet with the lawyer tomorrow, so that’s their chance to record them. Johnny asks Dana if she has a broche (probably to hide the transmitter in it). Dorofeo sends a guy to get Dana to go see him.

(whoa! We’re back to the original credits theme! But it does include Sarai now! Go figure! She just left. There’s some new clips of the kids, but in the maze. And the last few seconds now have background of recent scenes)

Ana concerned that Dana had to hang up on them. Ana will have to make up a story to Fernando that Johnny has problems again. (se me anda aventando una tarantula) Ana says that if Hissabella is launching herself at him she MUST be desperate! Johnny fakes being offended (but he is kiddin). He reminds her she used to date him herself. Ana says she meant Hissabella has no limits. But now that she thinks about it, Johnny always felt attracted to Hissabella. Johnny swears that he only has eyes for Jenny now.

Hissabella is at home and (for a change?... not!) she is having a tantrum about Johnny rejecting her. Ramona mentions that when Johnny came to fix the bathroom he ran out in a hurry. Hissabella tells Yomama that Fernando was kissing Ananaca. Yomama tells Hissabella the obvious, those two are in love, must be spending whole days kissing… Hissabella says they don’t even hide it from the kids anymore. That means they are officially dating by now. Yomama admits they make a great couple. Hissabella is determined to separate Ana and Fernando. Yomama gets disappointed because Hissabella has said that so many times, but Hissabella is sure she will split them this time.

Johnny is leaving, Ana thanks him.. he does not want gratitude until the plan works out. Johnny tells Ana not to tell Jenny about the episode with Hissabella. Ana says you have to tell her. So you won’t blame me if I slip. He promises.

Bruno arrives home even happier than the last time, Johnny wonders what’s up with him. Bruno says ‘el amore’. He even says his own name Bruno Romero with a European/French accent. He talks to himself that he has been so blind before love. Iron masks… serafins… fairies… and Cupids.

Fernando tells Ana he could spend every day of every month of every year kissing her. Ana says they were ‘about to kiss’ so many times.(he giggles at her jolting close to kiss him a couple times but not all the way) (but she now can’t keep herself from kissing him). He says he is ready anytime, gf. Me too, bf… (cootie-cootie…) Ana says she has to do something with Johnny, he says make sure he brings you back home. She asks him to keep watch on DN meanwhile. (throwing one or two words in English, so he responds in Japanese, and ‘I love you’s in English, finally he says ‘yo te amo’ in French a couple times) Ana leaves and he sighs big (taking it all in that just happened), lifts his hand with thumb up and points it at the photo of him with Fanny Sr on the wall by door… ‘so far so good’. (bien! … bien!).

Ximena and Fanny still in Fanny’s room. Fanny shows Ximena some of Lenin’s text messages in poem verses… Ximena does NOT know the poets (Quevedo from Spain, Sor Juana, Gabriela Mistral, Pablo Neruda, etc)… Ximena realizes Fanny does like Lenin quite a bit. Fanny admits she has learned a lot from Lenin and he motivates her to think and challenge herself.

Laura apologizes to Leon… Leon says maybe the drama already passed, Fanny was part of my life… Laura gives him a good luck kiss for his test tomorrow... He thanks her. She asks him to text her tomorrow. Sure.

Fanny invites Ximena to stay the night here with her. Ximena says since she knows herself there are two things that have defined her… her mom and her condition (illness). Now she wants to figure out who she is and where she’s going.

Fernando and Nando are talking in the office. They recall the talks at Malinalco about the contradiction between feelings and the ‘duty’. Nando says his case is not quite the same. The heroine falls for the hero, the hero goes to war, is believed dead, the heroin falls for someone else. He never expected Ximena to come back and say ‘I still love you’.

Ana and Jenny and Johnny are eating, Ana can’t help but flirt her new jewelry (and after taking a close look at it, the one Fernando said it was himself does have an engagement diamond in it, although nowhere near the size he can afford). Ana tells them it is actually a xmas present but the key part is that Fernando asked her to be gf/bf. So they HAVE to nail Dorofeo so Ana can be happy with Fernando in peace. Johnny thinks to himself he also has to ask Jenny to be his gf...

At the apt, Yomama and Ramona are chatting drinking martini and tequila. Yomama says been a long time since went to church. Ramona had suggested to her to do ‘contrition’ as first step to convert to the ‘good side’. Have to recognize your sins and then repent from them. Yomama has no clue how. Have to go to confession. ‘Aaoowww!!’ is Yomama’s reaction.

Dana comes over to bring Johnny the broache to put the transmitter in. Ana tells her she knows its dangerous. Dana wants to record Dorofeo to help Ana. Grateful hug from Ana. (somehow I feel this won’t end well for Dana)

Magda brings Angel back home. Too much proper ‘thank you, no worries, lather, repeat…’ she wants to kiss in mouth, but he moves at last moment and gets a kiss on cheek. As he gets out of the car, she tells herself ‘you have to get pregnant with Angel’s kid, Magda!!’

At the kitchen, The kids are tainting Ana for now being the official ‘gf’ of their dad. They say it sounds ‘excellent!!’ and Luz asks if the next step is being the ‘wife’.

Fanny and Ximena come down to join them. But the twins do the palm electric shocker on Ximena. Ana and Fanny get alarmed but Ximena says she’s alright. Nando comes in kitchen but makes a 180 degree turn as soon as he sees Ximena. XImena does see him and Ana does too. Ana goes after Nando, catches him at stairs. He says he will have breakfast at school. Ana asks if he is still game for a makeover. He is good with doing it this afternoon. Fernando comes down the stairs and has a brief moment of jealousy since Ana and Nando were talking in whisper. Nando says don’t go there. (with jealousy) Fernando and Ana do some cootie-cootie flirting with each other. And she even says yes in English, Japanese (taka taka) and French (weh weh instead of oui oui, so Fernando corrects her pronunciation).

Fernando says ‘if you are my gf now, you should not wear the uniform anymore… (she says ‘ay, Fernandooooo!’) I want you to take off the uniform’. Fanny was coming out at that moment and she only heard the last part of that, so she makes the hashtag sign and plays ‘outraged/offended’ at his suggestion to Ana.

F: Hashtag Oh my God!!! (Fernando’s face is priceless at hearing this). Ana follows along the joke with Fanny with the hashtag sign… What outrage! To think there are under-aged ones behind that door!

Fernando still has not got why they are making fun of him, Fanny has to repeat his words ‘Ana I want you to take off the uniform!’ (while Ana makes the mime as if she ripped off a ‘solo para hombres’ outfit) and he finally giggles about it. Fernando explains he meant she does not have to use a uniform anymore. Fanny finally walks out saying ‘IMO you can go ahead and take it off!’ Fanny heads upstairs..

F: In this house, you are my gf… in this life you are my gf… in this WORLD you are my gf!... so… what do you think of the idea?

A: I am not taking the clothes off! (just kiddin!) but in any case, I don’t have that many garments. I think I would rather keep wearing the uniform.

F: Don’t worry about that.

A: you mean buy me clothes? NO!! (she plays offended about the idea… he rolls his eyes away).. don’t look at me like that!

F: I like you (me gustas).

A: My legs get weak everytime [you talk/look to me like that] (her legs give in and she falls right in his arms) and I have to hold on to something…

F: Hold on tight… huy!... (they keep kissy kissy cootie-cootie… this is really giving me a stomach ache… a bit too rich)

Hissabella is looking for a Private investigator online… Hissabella sees Yomama dressed in lace with a lace scarf over her head, Hissabella tells her she looks like she is about to go beg in the streets. Yomama tells her she is going to church with Ramona (Hissabella laughs it off). Hissabella says Yomama is ridiculous. Yomama says she is going to confession to recover her spiritual life. Hissabella says don’t even try it, you and I will end up in hell. Yomama prays that she won’t get that ending for herself. Ave maria purisima! Hissabella keeps calling Yomama ridiculous as they leave. Hissabella finds a good PI company that sounds good for her, reliable and discrete.

The kids are leaving for school. Zeus comes in to take the kids to school and carry the backpacks out. Zeus freezes at the sight of Manuela. Ana has to yell him out of the trance. Ana tells the kids Zeus is attracted to Manuela. The kids tease Zeus who is not appreciating it.

Fanny and Ximena come out to living room. Fanny does not want trouble with Edith if she keeps hanging out with her. She is reluctant to take Ximena to her college (where Edith also goes) with her. Ximena swears to Fanny she told Edith she was not here to take Nando from her.

At Chicago, Jenny, Johnny and Ana are watching the camera in Dana’s broche… they can see and hear everything fine. They see the lawyer has arrived. They hope Dorofeo will fall in the trap.

Previews: Hissabella’s threat is serious now. As Ana gets some evidence to sink Dorofeo, (we see the lawyer grabbing a stack of money), Hissabella is working something (at the office) to sink Ana!

sorry the recap is so long, there was a lot of cute and cheesy stuff... but i was glad the credits were back to the original with a couple updates, and the show is retaking the family comedy vibe. except for the 'trying to catch Dorofeo in the act' subplot.
So there are villains in sight, other villains on camera and some villains out of sight but about to jump back in when least expected.
have to say that makes for some interesting next few episodes.

WOW Marta, that was almost a word-by-word translation of the episode! Outstanding job, thanks for all the hard work! I really appreciated some of your translations of the slang again with the Ana / Johnny / Jen crowd.

WTH is up with the opening credits? So now they are going back to the original theme song?
This makes absolutely no sense . Was that just a sloppy editing job or what? I guess tomorrow will tell.

So now we have a makeover of Ximena, so I guess we can guess where the storyline goes with Nando/Edith/Ximena. Not a spoiler, just a guess.

Jennifer all of a sudden thinks marrying fruitcake Johnny wouldn't be such a bad idea. Oh please.

The writers should give more lines to Luz, she is the only sane, interesting character left, besides Siete.

The whole Isabruja/Johnny scene was just to gross to watch >>>>>ff>>>>ff. I think my tv remote will die before this novela is over.

Sorry you guys, I don't know what is wrong, but it keeps double posting my comments for some strange reason. Is it a hint?

Thanks for your speedy and the excellent recap, Marta.

I enjoyed:

The growling Isabella

Ximena pointing out no difference between León and Laura kissing and Fanny and Kenin kissing

Ramona explaining what contrition is to Yolanda.

Not good:

Isabella hiring a private detective to help break up Fernando and Ana. Can we all guess where this is headed? Unless of course Ana beats her to the punch but , no, Ana has forgotten her own deadline since she is now so involved in the destruction if Doroteo. Bad decision.

Jarifa

I wonder why Ana thinks that bringing down Doroteo will absolve her from her connection with Chicago and her lying or keeping the truth from Fernando. Hasn't she stopped to think that when Doroteo is taken down Fernando will learn the truth, or did I miss something along the way.?

Granted it's great that they want justice and to put a stop to Doroteo but I'm just not seeing the logic behind her way of thinking, and I especially don't understand why Dana is so willing to get involved. At the beginning of the novela, Dana had the hots for Johnny and now that he has gone over to the 'Jen' side, Dana's involvement just doesn't click for me.

And why are they playing that Daniela Romo love song as background music to Angel and Magda?

And if this 'reCAPTCHA' thing does another double-post with this comment, I'm going to go bonkers!!

Dear Urban and martaivett

Thank you both so very much for such incredibly detailed and totally entertaining recaps! As I read both of yours this evening, I sat there amazed that you made a TN that has almost totally lost my interest into one that I might consider watching again.

Maybe it's because there are only so many hours in the day that makes me wonder about wasting an hour of my time, but I can't bring myself to watch right now and would much prefer to read the super recaps.

Mostly, I feel such disappointment that an actor like Silvia Navarro is reduced to this kind of role. I'm sure the politics of their theatrical world keeps Navarro, Salinas et al hanging in there, but as a viewer who invests time in watching, the nonsense of the plot lines is totally lost on me.

I love the slang and translation of said slang, martai. Thank you so much!

Urban, I wonder if the gods aren't tiring of the shenanigans.

Thank you both so much!

Fatima

MartaIvett, add my big thanks for the wonderful detailed recap! It was super and your hard work much appreciated.

Victoria Gomez, months ago Dana was so sick of Doroteo's shennanigans that she told Jenny or somebody that she would masquerade as his girlfriend to get an inside scoop that could bring him down. Wow, what dedication, because for months she has been hanging on his arm, and we suppose, keeping her ears open. So this is all part of her plan.

I missed the opening credits but was startled to see a big head-shot of Diego just before the final credits ran.

Disappointed to see Ximena looking so totally normal, guess they are grooming her for a return as Nando's GF. I can't forget what a pill she was to him in the beginning.

Victoria, make that Luz AND Ramona LOL.

Hello, I agree with the others, very detailed and accurate review, thanks. I'm hard-pressed to criticize today because they went back to the old opening and my 2 year old and I danced again. Very happy about that, however: Fanny needs to stop being hypocritical, glad Ximena pointed it out. What I hate is when Fanny pulled out the tired phrase, "Who's side are you on?" That is so weak. A true friend is going to tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. Fanny needs to learn that.

Also, I think if Johnny and Isabella was at another location and alone, he would've gave in. I think he was saved because he knew people were in the house and they would get caught eventually.

I guess Ximena doesn't know what giving space to someone means. She knows that by going to see Fanny she would see Nando and he would see her. Once again, I don't understand these ladies fascination with this boy. I could understand if they were after money, but it seems they are not. I don't know, maybe it's me.

Really appreciate this Marta, love your translations of slang. I'm getting better at picking it up.

I too, find Dana's price to pay high when Ana the primary beneficiary. Ana has done absolutely nothing except tag along.

No talk of telling the truth to Fernando, no prod by Soledad or Fanny (I get why Jenny & Juan wouldn't encourage telling the truth and look for a way of keeping it secret instead). I agree, if Doroteo goes down in a bribe scandal with a public official, how does she escape detection? Because, what Ana does at night, where she works and for whom she works, is so far removed from Fernando's world, she is able to trick him. With a spotlight on the business how would Fernando miss it, since the major draw to the club is his fiancee.

I realize we're being set up for an Angel/Ana romance but I'm having trouble caring about the Angel, Magda, Ana love triangle. Now Magda says she has to get preggers so she can trap Angel?

tofie, i am with you and have totally lost interest in the Angel/Magda/Ana triangle. and it would make NO sense if Ana gave Angel a try when Fernando hits the roof with the revelation. (which he will, they are setting us AND HIM up for a very high climb only to drop him from the skyscraper of bliss, my guess)

I also don't want Fanny, Nando or Alicia, let alone Sebastian, to be in a formal relationship when the FIN hits the screen.

Hissabruja needs a MAJOR anvil and long punishment (death is too easy for either her or Freeky. I want her to lose her 'physical beauty', she can keep her proffessional career if she decides to work for a living, for a change. But her kid should go to someone else to raise. Freeky could die or turn totally nuts. but i am sure he will attack and possibly hurt someone (i had daydreams that Ana would step in the way of a bullet meant for Fanny or Fernando and this is part of how she gets reivindicated in his eyes)
Johnny and Jenny, ok i can stomach them ending up together but the Johnny/Hissabella lust scenes HAVE TO STOP RIGHT NOW!!! sickening is an understatement!

the credits song. yes i thought it weird that Pablo is front and center at the end credits now... I do expect him to be part of the line of people to slap Fernando back to his senses after he gets over the 'DUMB' labeling syndrome.

And yes, Ana has brought this huge anvil about to come to her on herself, for sure. I am kind of on the fence between tofie and UA. I can understand why Ana lied, but she has taken it way too far, she should have told him the truth by now... as everyone knows, it will be much harder for her and him if he finds out any other way from those not so willing to soften the pill for him.

I have a feeling Diego will come back in time to be a main player in bringing Fernando and Ana back together...
Will the little kids play a part too wanting to go find Ana and ending up in trouble? they sure don't care about the Chicago secret or issue.

Marta, I am with you. I totally understand why Ana is lying but she should have told the truth by no. She is frozen like the deer in the headlights but when things are this serious she can't pin her hopes on some goofy plan to get Doroteo. Even if she does close him down, she still worked there for all that time and almost everyone knows except for Fernando. So, I cannot see the "take down Doroteo plan" being a solution. Is she going to be walking on egg shells the rest of her life? She will be short of telling the whole truth.

Jarifa

Marta,

Thank you for your usual wonderful work. You really get to the heart of it, with lots of detail and the best translations!

I think you are right that Diego might be back to play an important role at the end. I watched this episode on Hulu, where it ends with images of Diego. Not sure what happened on the TV broadcast, but I took it as a sign that Diego may well return.

Ximena and Lenin? Just a stray thought given her excitement about meeting him. She looks so well and pretty. If only those suffering from serious emotional problems could so quickly recover.

I do think that everyone but the very evil will be paired up by the end. Pablo will return, we will have Sarai visiting the family and her friend Sebas again. Jenny and Johnny, probably with Nico's blessing. Manuela and Zeus, Bruno and Betty, Fanny and Leon. Not sure about Nando. We are definitely in the home stretch to wrap everything up, with a few hard weeks to get our main couple back on track. Just my sense of it -- really I have no idea!

In the same way, it figures that Isabela would be hot and heavy into breaking up Fernando and Ana. Her total contempt for "nacas" is shown in her absolute disregard for the baby. She doesn't even visit while she is at the mansion, but let's the "servant" raise her child. The servant that she supposedly hates so much.

Fernando's annoyance that Ana and Fanny were laughing at him was a great little foreshadowing, I am guessing, of how he is going to react to them deceiving him about Ana's other life.

Gracias, Marta.

I wonder whether the Mexican audience also felt that the banda song wasn't right for this series.

Would Johnny have boinked Hissabella? Maybe, but he ran from her apartment at the time. Either way, Jenny isn't going to be happy about this and he will catch hell for it although it's not technically his fault. It will certainly cause her to remember that he cheated on Ana in the opening episode and may give her lots of second thoughts.

Which is obviously what Angel needs about Ana. She is in love with and now engaged to another man; he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. As for Magda, she's delusional if she thinks it's even a good idea to have a baby just to get Angel back. She is proof of the warning I got on my first day of college when someone said to never date a psych major.

The only reason to buy the idea of Yomama confessing and atoning for her sins is that she is played by Carmen Salinas.

I agree with the post above about Isabitch's losing her looks. She is so stuck on her looks she deserves to lose them and realize that there are better assets that last. She herself is such a naca for not wanting to know that.

Finally, this desire for Ana to be punished for lying is provoking the following question: Would you feel the same way if Ana's job at Chicago were fully in the past?

Urban, who is "wanting" Ana to be punished?

Jarifa

One is someone who hasn't yet posted today; he's the most obvious. I get a vibe about this from others, which could be a function of how words on a screen aren't perfect communication.

Traveling lady, i also felt that the Ana and Fanny making fun of Fernando's line was foreshadowing that he will be reallly angry about having been 'taken for a fool' for so long... and that was just a little hay in the milk compared to the Defcon 1 that will be the big reveal, esp if it is the way i suspect, organized by Isa at the wrong time in the wrong place.

And no, i don't want any punishment for Ana, but if she and Fernando split for a while when he learns the truth, she has brought that suffering on herself. not that i want Fernando to 'punish' her in any other way than sending her packing at least for a while. the real ones that will suffer are the kids, though.

Marta, this was spectacular. I must be zoning out as I watch because I don't even remember some of the happenings. Your detail was fantastic!

Let me just say, nothing nauseates me more than the fact babies are used as a manipulating or decision point in these shows. I know it's cliché, but...Talking yourself into marrying someone because what you really want is a baby, NO.(Looking at you Jen). Trying to snag someone and thinking how to trick him, get pregnant and then he HAS to hook up with you because he's a good guy that would do that, that would also be a NO. In my thinking, Magda is no different than Isabella if that's her plan to get Angel back. Shame on the writers if they do that and put those two together for that reason.

Second point, please dear lord, can we ratchet down the cutesie stuff with Ana and Fer. At this point, it's getting skin-crawling and too much. Was hopeful those blasted uniforms were going to go, but Ana won't go there. (Or is the budget too small--at this point, let her wear jeans and a cute sweater. She's dealing with kids after all.)

I don't care she volunteered, I don't like them using Dana like this. Not acceptable. And I agree tofie, the reasoning on what they are doing makes no sense. Doro would squeal and be heard in Texas if taken down. How could they not know that?

I still don't trust Ximena, but if we have re-visits of all the "love-interests" by the end, including the kids, she better not be the end game for Nando. No fit what so ever.

So why do I suddenly think Leon and Laura may not be such a bad fit? Seems she's now more comfortable in her present station in life too--not so concerned about money, etc is seems. If they flip Leon and Fanny back to each other, at this point I cry foul, because one or the other would have to do a major personality overhaul. (And it better not be her deciding to be a mommy and wife after all).

My guess is Osorio has a niece or nephew or friend of a friend who is studying editing, or trying to get into the field of film editing. Those opening credits are a hatchet job and embarrassing already. Maybe he should just ditch them altogether at this point.

Daisynjay

Thanks for the awesome recap!

I like the idea that Diego gets Ana and Fer back together because I too found it odd when he featured in the closing credits.

Jonny doesn't bother me at all anymore now that he is less obnoxious.

Looks like the moment Ana thinks she is free of Doro, Isa will tell Fer her PI findings. Just wondering how bad its going to be because if he throws her out, can she really find a way to forgive him? Even knowing she brought this on herself?

If Ana's job was in her past and she confident it not lurking, keep her mouth shut. Experience talking.

I understand not fully disclosing what she does on her time at the beginning, but for some time now the two have developed an emotional relationship. To prevent exactly what will happen she should have been proactive and told him. Non disclosure is one thing but her continuing to lie to his face, disrespectful at best, to a man she says she loves. She lied to him last night with the flimsiest of lies, knowing he trust her and wouldn't question. There have been other situations in this TN where Ana herself has counseled truth. Just Monday, Betty explained to Bruno, the reason she told Fernando about their relationship, so not to violate the trust he has in the both of them. Nando, though delayed (only slightly) has told both girls the honest truth, risking hurting them and losing both. Ana herself, was honest upfront with Diego, she didn't love him and loved his brother so she is capable.

Urban, thanks for your clarification.

Jarifa

it is no secret I see Ana differently than most. To my eyes this has almost become some silly high risk game to her. I just don't see the stark fear/terror that AnaLier is supposedly labouring under. From my point of view she is almost flip about her little secret, all the while leading Angel on. Listen to her and watch her face when she is weaving her web around him. She wants waaaay too much personal info about him.

When he professed his love she could have nipped it in the bud right there but instead went into the demure "Oh, I'm so flattered you handsome hunk" mode. I, for one will not cry when her anvils start raining.

The cutesie between Ana & Fernando is more a girl that has a crush on the highschool football team captain and cannot believe he noticed her.

They have been good for each other, he learned to loosen up, engage his children and love again, she knows her gut didn't lie and a family is what she wants and there is a whole world out there she didn't believe she could be a part.

This is about Ana the unrealized, becoming a superhero and she'll not be left with nothing. Even if it is not Fernando she'll get Angel and start a family. No anvil, a few consequences, but nothing crippling. Heck, it's not been a year in the grand scheme and she can look back and see the non relationship with Fernando for what it is, a transition. Nobody's taking anything from her.

What I hope we don't see is a blood letting, with Fernando an ogre and Ana a martyr.

I don't think that will happen; we have Enfrique to freak out some more.

Whatever happened to that ring of keys in his cell? That must have been two weeks ago by now.

If Osorio runs true to form one or more of the Lascurain children will be in danger before this is over. Luz or the twins (although I could see those two tricking their way out of it) will be in danger and it will be Ana to the rescue. She would not be afraid to bash Enfrique in the process. Any issues between her and Fernando would be ended over this.

Tofie, you're right about it not having been a year since the opening episode. Since DN was premature I'm guessing that there are now about 4 months left before Ana would be free of her initial deal with Dorofeo. It is really bugging me that we didn't see Jenny pay him back for her operation; we don't know if she wrote a check or pad in cash or if there were any witnesses. I don't remember a verbal reference to that, either.

Thanks Marta for the detailed recap.

UA: agree about Ana/punishment. It amazes me that some people think of her as a "villain". Or seem to, anyway. Like you said, it may be this method of communication. Or it may be caused by life experiences. Or both.

Is Ximena really bi-polar? Because I have a bi-polar friend and it can't be cured. Depending on the degree, you're on meds for the rest of your life and have to see a psychologist/psychiatrist on a regular basis. Was there some mention of her being clinically depressed? Don't know much about that disease, but don't think it's as serious as bi-polar. Does anyone know?

OT: I'm pretty sure someone already blogged about this, but I don't remember. Does anyone know what TNs are coming after La Gata and MCET?

Nanette

She is closer to clinical depression, particularly in view of her frequent inertia and the fake suicide attempts. Somebody on the writing staff doesn't know what s/he is talking about.

People who have been diagnosed with clinical depression are very likely to relapse when something new goes wrong. Mood elevating drugs for this are also tricky because they often have intolerable side effects.

Nanette, i dont remember the name but after La Gata is a new version of El Manantial and Canaveral de Pasiones (original story by Caridad Bravo Adams)... not sure after MCET.

UA, exactly. i am afraid one of Fernando's kids will be in jeopardy from either Freeky or Dorofeo and Ana will be the one in the middle, possibly being badly hurt and this situation will potentially be the one to bring Fernando to snap out of the anger mayhem over her secret. Not that he was not right, but he will realize what is really important to him ... yeah trust is something they will have to work on rebuilding... for sure. but the kids will be front and center motive for them to end up together, IMO.

Could it still be Fanny, Ricky goes after? He did list her on his to hit list. Nic, Fernando, Leon, Fanny & Isabela.

tofie, it could be fanny but i see it more Leon stepping in front of a bullet for her and maybe that is how they justify her ending up with him... ?? just guessing. but yes she was on Freky's hit list.

I'm actually beginning to like Lenin more and more though I do believe Fanny is too young to make any sort of commitment beyond going steady.

Thanks Marta.

Found an English language website. Don't know what's following La Gata, but the tentatively titled Amores Con Trampa (a remake of Somos Las Carmona) is following MCET.

I would hate to have Fanny put in danger and than ram her back with Leon to put them back together. The way the writers drop plot points in this story, they probably wouldn't address his temper, lack of her wanting to get her degree, etc. Or he would see the light and become this totally different person which would make me cringe because it those change of hearts are sometimes too in the moment. But whatever...

Love the comments on Ximena, which is why I find it hard to believe we are only seeing this totally put together person that nothing affects. Noone is talking meds, or what she she went through, it's like she got a super drug and we're supposed to believe she's A-OK. I don't buy it or it's really poor writing again.

I know....it's our friends the Rat Pack who took over the writing. The animal union was upset they only had those brief episodes with Johny, so compensation was more for Siete and they get to write the rest of the expansion episodes. Would explain a lot!

Ana could save Fanny or Lenin, anybody but Leon. He grabbed his last for me Monday, go away punk. He needs to grow up and hopping right to Laura should teach him a good lesson. Perhaps Tamara experienced the raging bull and why she fled.

Tamara was a drama queen and probably had issues with her mother. Remember that she didn't turn up again until her mother died?

There was no question that she and Leon married too young; he acknowledged that. It's very possible that Fanny is more mature than Tamara was at the same age, but that doesn't make her mature enough for marriage yet. She's also got Things To Do.

Based on her facial expressions in recent episodes I still think that Laura is playing games.

Re Laura: it's probably one of those things where she thinks she's really in love or she is, in her warped little way. Just like I think Isa believes she's in love with Fer or is in HER own EXTREMELY warped little way.

I'm not buying that. However, her sense of disgust after boinking Enfrique might be because he's a perv.

When do you think the baby kidnapping scene will take place? Because as telenovela convention goes, there is almost always a baby/child kidnapping. Also, I agree with Marta that Ana or someone will get hurt by IkkyLizard which will lead to the big "I forgive you" (Fer to Ana) part.

Tonight is episode 141, so I give it another 25-30 episodes. Because the baby isn't actually Fernando's child he needs to be rescued before someone finds out that Enfrique is the biological father.

However, I am guessing that Ana and Fernando will end up with him in view of Enfrique and Isabruja's actions through the story.

UA: you're not buying that Laura is in love with Leon? Or thinks she's in love with Leon?

Don't mind saying that I'm Bipolar 1 (worst case) and definitely it is not a curable illness, same as schizophrenia, no cure, just long-term medication and therapy, usually with periods of unavoidable low and high mania.

So, IMHO, Ximena's radical makeover is just a ploy by the writers to get back on the Nando/Ximena pairing, leaving Edith out in the cold. Maybe Edith will end up with Lenin; your guess is as good as mine; but it does seem as if Osorio has everyone paired up in his plot/story.

I think the thing that is going to bother Fernando the most (when the Chicago anvil falls) is not so much Ana's job in and of itself, but the BIG fact that she kept it from him, and, in his mind, made him out to be a fool. This reaction has been forecast many times throughout the novela (probably the only one consistent storyline on Osorio's part).

Fernando isn't going to take into account the hurt he caused Ana by marrying Isabruja, and the grief Isabruja caused Ana. All that, and more, will fall by the wayside once Chicago is out in the open. He will revert back to the rigid, ultra-square, ice conservative (Don Hielo) that he was before Ana entered his family's life.

Moreover, Isabruja will thoroughly enjoy every moment she gets to rub "I told you so (naca Ana)" in Fernando's face. Isabruja is going to have a field day.

The Chicago reveal is going to affect everyone, most importantly the children who won't understand what is happening when Fernando kicks Ana out on her butt--which he probably will due, IMO.

I don't think Laura is in love with Leon any more than she was in love with Nando. She went after Nando to vex Ximena (which only made her mental illness worse) and she's chasing Leon to vex Fanny.

While Fanny knows she shouldn't be getting married now she still loves Leon or she wouldn't still be angry about Laura.

The only thing about Laura that makes her superior to Isabruja is that she can't handle Enfrique's perversion. He's not physically repulsive, so he must have made her do something very distasteful in bed to get his money's worth for her to look like she wanted to spend the rest of the day vomiting.

Ana will be the one responsible for putting the kids 'front and center' for Enrique and/or Doroteo, as she is the one who brought her night job in to the equation.

She has done a tremendous disservice to the kids by not divulging the truth to Fernando beforehand so he could bring Doroteo down without jeopardizing anyone's well being.

Except that Ana thought he would toss her out on her butt at the time, especially once he married Isabruja. He still doesn't know that:

-- DN isn't his child
-- Isabruja caused Sebastian's "accident"

I can't remember whether he knows that she also tried to kill Siete.

Victoria: thank you for sharing.

UA: I'm playing catch-up so I just watched the ep where Laura said (to the camera that she was falling in love with Leon (or something to that effect) which is why I think she might be.

I also believe that Fer does know or strongly suspects that Isa tried to poison Siete.

With Freaky being off his nut and Isa a child abuser, there should be no problem with Fer adopting DN.

One more thing: Enfrique is a greater danger than Dorofeo. The latter is only interested in money and has no personal beef against Fernando or his kids. He may have minions, but he's unlikely to take risks going after a CEO.

Enfrique, on the other hand, is delusional, deranged, and doesn't possess even a hint of conscience. We have already seen him threaten Mauricio and the writers didn't put that in for no reason.

When Freaky gets free, it's going to be a "blood bath".

OK Captcha just made me choose three pics of cake.

Maybe I should have said three cake pics.

Ok, on to tonight's episode to see if the opening theme song has changed back to banda music.
