Hasta el Fin del Mundo #156 Priorites and Goals

Peralta tells Patrick that the evil goal is still the same, only the path to success has changed.  They hang up.

We arrive where just where we left off.  Sophia is begging Paco to assure her that Octavio was a good man.  In order to save Sophia's feelings, Paco suggests that maybe Coria could have stolen the recipes on his own.  Paco doesn't know if Octavio was aware of the stolen recipes.  Chava butts in and says that there is no way that Araceli will prevail.  Paco says that Araceli can win because he gave her power of attorney over everything he has including his intellectual property.  Chava is shocked.  After Chava dumped Araceli, she got all bummed out and looked sadder than usual.  Paco gave her the POA as a birthday gift.  Sophia says that Ripoll is screwed if Araceli prevails.  Ripoll is broke an the lawsuit will destroy them.  Paco promises to take care of it.  He's going to revoke the Power of Attorney.

Paco visits Greta and tells her about the lawsuit.  Greta can't believe that Paco gave Araceli the ammunition that she needs to take down Ripoll.  Paco explains that he did it before he was aware that Sophia was his kid.  He wanted Araceli to inherit while he was alive.  Greta wants to tell the world that Octavio was a recipe pilferin' two-bit bum.  Paco tells Greta that he kinda sorta lied to Sophia and told her that Coria kinda sorta coulda stolen the recipes all on his own.  Sophia has Octavio on a pedestal and he wants Octavio to stay there.  Greta finally agrees.  Paco tells Greta that Lupe has been a great friend, but he will never find a love like theirs.  Greta smiles when he leaves.

Chava visits Araceli and tells her that Ripoll is broke and she will get nothing.  Araceli says that the Ripolls can sell the house.  Chava can't believe that Araceli wants to sue the underwear off of Sophia.  Her reminds her that the recipes belong to Paco and Paco told the world that Ripoll did not sell his recipes.  He said that he doesn't like the new bitter Araceli.  He prefers the sweet one that left him for another man.  If she has a flicker of that old two-timer in her, she should stop the lawsuit.  Araceli tells Irma that she's all bummed out because Chava thinks that she's heartless. Irma tells Araceli to keep her eyes on the prize and off of Mr. Cruz.

Sophia tells Patrick about the lawsuit.  Their conversation is interrupted by a visit from Peralta.  Sophia introduces the two men.

Thanks for recap Cyn!

What happened to the other Lupe? Also, is it custom for a voice-over guy to announce when a new person is playing a main character. I thought that was interesting. Was Lupe a dancer? I never saw her dance? My wife said she did at the beginning but I can't see the old Lupe dancing like that.

Sofia finally got it through her head that Arecily doesn't like her, only took a major lawsuit to prove it.

Paco trying to protect Sofia's feelings was noble but didn't Greta get in trouble before for trying to follow through with a Lie. I know that Sofia loves Octavio but it would more important for her to know that her real father was a victim in all this and I don't think she will be happy knowing this also was a lie. I think Greta should tell her the truth. Paco needs to rethink this.

Lucas is starting to wonder why would Dani care if Oliver is upset or not and should make good drama.

Another stellar recap. Thank you Cynderella. I know how hard it must be to make an ongoing episode of Judge Judy interesting. They should put the real cast on furlough and simply show us all their respective attorneys. Oh well, still better than upside down kissing on the sand.

Bryan I missed the voice over. There was nothing like that when the Chava 1.0 upgrade to Chava 2.0 happened.
Yes Loopey 1.0 off and on taught a fitness dance class at CoCo's. Loopey 2.0 appears to be about 300 years younger than (the obsolete) Loopey 1.0 and does appear more suited to booty shakin dance class.
Looking at the age difference in the 2.0 Mom and 2.0 Son I can't help but wonder if Chava was born to a twelve year old or is he is just not old enough for a drivers license yet?

Something tells me Irma will end up keeping Nandito.

thanks Cynderella.

"Whoever is less crazy gets the kid"

I laughed when Greta told Paco, to his face, she wants to protect her girls from making the same mistake (banging a poor boy) she did and the idiot just stands there oozing beta clinger.

Again, when our antagonist cover a lie with a lie they get anvils, when the Ripoll clique and the wimps that support them lie to maintain their fiefdom its A ok.

It's very clear Paco is willing to do anything to gain the affection of his new found daughter and by proxy her mother, going to Greta first to make sure they get their stories straight instead of speaking to Araceli. Naw, the pit bull, Salvador did that.

The unfortunate thing with this whole situation is that I believe Sofia can handle the truth, could process it, come up with a equitable compromise and make everyone happy, perhaps forge a tentative relationship with her half sister given time. I have confidence in her, it is Paco especially, (and to a lesser extent Salvador) driving the wedge. Paco adds nothing but fuel to the flame.

It was not an upgrade when Pedro was replaced with David. I am totally repulsed by the new Salvador. I already miss the old Lupe but perhaps Leticia Perdigón can pull it off but she does look too young for the part. I still have too recent a memory of her roll as Jarocha in La Gata.

Indifference and cash, LOL. For Dani, indifference does work, the more Lucas ignored her the more she tried to orchestrate relevance in his life and expect the same now with Oliver.

I like Armando, but if the guy thinks the behavior between he and Alexa was invisible, I need to rethink my opinion.

Another treat from you this week, Cyn. Thanks!

Bryan- We actually saw Lupe dancing a lot in the beginning, same booty shaking moves. She did a saucy tanto with a hot Argentine once, that got Paco's blood boiling. This show was extended and Lupe 1.0 who is running for some political office in real life needed to drop out to do that.

Well, Paco found a way to keep Octavio on his ill deserved pedestal for Sofia. Booo! Time to tell her the whole sordid truth, already.

All Chava and Sofia need to do is tell the ENTIRE neighborhood that Araceli is trying to lose them all the ire jobs by sinking the company, and see how long she can show her face in that neighborhood without being jumped. In fact, I was shocked that each time someone spoke to her, they didn't mention that this meant putting hundreds of people out of work, including people in her own friends and family circle who need things like the health insurance: Marisol, Armando, Matias.

Tango not tanto. Tablet doesn't believe tango is a word!

Thanks, Cynderella, for another great recap!

I like Leticia Perdigón but it will take time to get used to her as Lupe. She is the right age: in her mid 50's. Good for her she does not look it. :)

I didn't like Paco's decision to not tell Sofía the truth about Octavio. So now he is going to try to beat pissy-faced Aracely to court to regain legal control over his life before she can destroy the Ripoll's? He and Greta deserve each other: harebrained pair that they are.

Funny how Daniela cares about how Oliver views their past relationship. Peralta may be evil but not stupid.

My favorite part of the episode was Sofía introducing Peralta to Patricio. Maybe the introduction will answer some questions that Patricio and Renzi had about Peralta's "no-action action" in reference to the imminent destruction of Chocolates Ripoll. Maybe Patricio will realize that "avoiding a scandal" has nothing to do with it.

Nice to be in the "fun" part of this novela.

I was blown away with the skillful acting by the Greta and Paco characters in the scene where they decide to place the blame on Coria and keep Octavio on his pedestal.

In that scene (and only that scene), Greta appeared to be truly human. And then the scene ends with that beautiful soulful ballad "Tu Primera Vez" sung by Jose Jose. Wow!

Thanks, Gobluefan, for identifying that song.

The Great Octo Conspire between Grrrreta and Paco was an eye-opener to me also. For the first time we saw Grrrreta act human. The chat with Paco was touching. But I am confused: Through this whole TN Octocreep has been held in high esteem by Greta (and others). IE: The unbreakable vow. She acted as though her undying love and respect for Octocreep held her true to the vow. Or (now as we see it) was she simply afraid he would be just as mean and evil in the afterlife as he was alive? She had no trouble admitting to Paco in The Great Octo Conspire that he was evil and feared, even broaching threats on Paco's life. AND she openly discussed the recipe theft with Paco.

The loose end is Silvana's Mom. Grrrreta has pretty much discussed all Octocreeps other crimes with Fausto / Paco et al. but has never mentioned a peep about the affair. She obviously knew about it as she supposedly demanded Octocreep end it. (as he did in a roundabout way?)

Thanks, Cynderella. Your writing is always a treat.

I believe Sofia can handle the truth, could process it, come up with a equitable compromise and make everyone happy

Tofie, ITA. Why does everyone underestimate Sophia? The fact that Octavio was a despicable crook doesn’t mean he didn’t love her, just that he was a ruthless SOB that didn’t give a damn about anybody outside his own circle and hated Paco.

I was shocked that each time someone spoke to her [Aracely], they didn't mention that this meant putting hundreds of people out of work

Vivi, ITA. I kept thinking that Chava No. 1 at least would’ve thought of this. Chava No. 2 seems to think about nothing but Sophia - punto. I’m not faulting David Zepeda but the writers. I’m wondering if the original version of this TN went that way too.

Also, doesn't Chava know that Paco did not lie about the recipes?

I miss Lupe No. 1. She was a fine dancer. I will give Lupe No. 2 a chance. I hope she and Detective Fuzzy have some chemistry. And where is Fuzzy anyway? Please, more Fuzzy, less Matias and Yovet.

Thank you Cynderella---I always enjoy your sharp and to the point recaps.

Not much time right now but Vivi---you make so much sense If the employees knew that they will be loosing their jobs because of Araceli I don't think that she would be easily/happily walking through the neighborhood.

Dulliver is sure playing Dani isn't he. She doesn't know what to think. It will be interesting to see where this is going.

I don't believe Salvador knows Paco lied (is lying) about the recipes, but perhaps suspects but wants to believe, knowing it supports Sofia's position.

I agree the financial ruin of the factory brings down the whole neighborhood but neither Paco or Salvador see past the princess. What always troubled me, was not once as they face any financial pressure have the Ripolls offered to sacrifice their lavish lifestyle but relied on the employees to work overtime without additional compensation. Shortly they will be subject to a reorg and layoffs, all because Greta's misplaced trust in Sofia's former fiancee, not Araceli who will shoulder all of the blame. Araceli is an idiot in her obsession over pitbull but I feel sorry for her since her father considers anything not related to Greta and their child background noise. Lupe, get ready to be dumped and pitbull won't say a word.

I'm expecting Marisol to do the same to Lucas!

Steve: What works for Dulliver on Dani will not ever work for Marisol on Lucas.
A. There is a gender issue.
B. Marisol is too forked up and stooopid to pull it off. Remember she is her Mother's daughter, Loopey 1.0.

I am absolutely disgusted with the way Paco handled things. When will these people ever learn not to lie? Paco has handled this situation incorrectly from the beginning.
Not only is he making Octavio out to be a saint but he is painting Araceli as a liar.

Narcissists do not know how to love anyone but themselves.and even that love is superficial.

Greta is unaware of the affair with Silvana's Mother. She thinks Octavio never cheated on her. Octavio wrote that letter and lied to take the blame off of himself. Silvana and Iker should feel extra stupid when they realize Greta has no idea about any affair.

"Not only is he making Octavio out to be a saint but he is painting Araceli as a liar" Right, lets make my daughter out to be the only bad guy so I can keep my newly found favorite daughter dumb and happy about a thief. The current problems Ripoll are experiencing aren't caused by Araceli but by Patricio and even without a lawsuit Ripoll could go belly up without the bank restructuring their debt..

They have managed to sidetrack us with the current things with Araceli and Danny and Oliver and all that. When will we get back to the real issues with Patrprick and Renzi and Peralta. Does anyone even remember poison in the chocs sent to South America? We hardly even see Patprick and Renzi anymore and I am tiring of waiting for their ANVILS. Sofia may have hit a couple of speedbumps lately but nothing compared to the ravine Pato steered Ripoll into.

Something also tells me Renzi & his co-hort won't be around for the Gran Final!

You've heard it here first!

If you have watched ahead, please don't put up spoilers at "guesses". FYI, I have watched a few episodes ahead on line, so I know who is guessing and who has also watched.

I don't think that the new Lupe looks "too young" to be Chava's mom. I think that she is boring. Lupe #1 smiled a lot. This one I don't like as much. I don't see how any of the men can be attracted to her "good heart" because she seems like she should be one of the villans.

OK, someone is going to have to give Irais a makeover. I don't think that it's superficial of him to be attracted to the sister. Matias is attracted to girly girls. I like spitting, scratching, hairy guys. When I shake a man's hand, I want to feel the callous. Metrosexuals concern me because only one of us can be the pretty one in the relationship. I would not be attracted to a guy that likes the mirror more than me. I don't know why it's wrong of Matias to like girls who look like Silvana and Yovet. It's stupid of him to go broke for them, but it's now wrong of him to have a type.

I meant to say that it is not wrong for him to have a "type".

Anon 9:24 Thank you so much. Grrrreta not knowing about the affair sure makes sense, as that explains her not cluing in on Silvana Blanco's name. It also paints Octocreep as even more evil as having written the letter and shipped the gun and bullets in addition to an affair. When all the truths start bubbling to the surface there are surely going to be some surprised faces in Hastaland.

Ohhh Grrrreta told Sofa The Awful Truth ( about Octocreep). Now that she knows The Awful Truth will Sofa take the memory of Octocreep off it's pedestal?

In addition to The Awful Truth (that he stole Paco's recipes) Grrrreta blurted out that he threatened to kill Paco if Grrrreta said anything. Bad night for pedestals Sofa.
