7. Cesar & Aaron (& Whoracio) defrauding Nescafé by submitting false shipping documents and skimming the profits – ½ shoe (Whoracio knows, but can’t do anything about it)
8. Whor's theft of Amaya's money – 2 shoes (Cesar & Aaron know)

10. Cesar spraying mercury in Juliana’s car to provoke depression – 1 shoe (Lu knows)
11. Lu & Cesar menacing and torturing Lucio for years over Omar – several slippers (Mauro, Max, Elo and Juli suspect but don’t know the real reason or extent)
12. Lu’s hiring of the phony hypnotist and paying him blackmail – 1 and several ½ shoes (Cesar knows, Eloisa, Juliana, Max are pretty sure, Mauro believes, but has no proof it was Lucrecia—and neither do the authorities)
13. Lu's murder of Omar (and her infidelity for many years) – 2 shoes (Lucio & Cesar know)
14. Lu’s exposure behind blowing up Amaya's car in an attempt to kill her and Vale – 1 shoe and 2 sneakers (Cesar knows, Amaya and Caro have very strong evidence, but it's hearsay)
15. Lu is accountable for framing Emma in the shooting of Amaya – 2 slippers (Caro & Amaya suspect)
16. Lu’s exposure as the murderer of Emma by quick-acting poison – 0 shoes (the authorities decided it was a heart-attack)
17. Lu’s keeping the secret that Cesar is not Mauro’s son – 1 shoe and almost another (Cesar knows, Amaya almost found out)
18. Uli’s ordering robberies and the flooding to ruin the coffee harvest at El P. – 1 shoe and 2 slippers (Cipriano knows, Hector & Jorge suspect Cipriano)
19. Uli paying his henchman to cheat at cards to make Cipriano lose his house and (illegally) his daughter – 1 shoe (only the card shark knows)
20. Cecy holding Ivan at her ranch, telling him his father is dead – ½ shoe (Tadeo suspects something is fishy)
21. Cesar complicit in Aaron/Negro’s murder of Gustavo – 2 slippers (Caro and Amaya suspect Cesar is involved after seeing the photos from the memory cheep)
22. Uli holding Mariana prisoner/hostage for a second time - 1 shoe and that's it (Efrain is complicit, Padre heard some noise, staff has been changed, nurse was paid off, so no one knows this young woman is being held against her will)

Thank you, Sara, for volunteering next week. This may be tough if you haven't been as deeply involved as some of us have. But "We Can Help."
"14. Lu’s exposure behind blowing up Amaya's car in an attempt to kill her and Vale – 1 shoe (Cesar knows)"
Doesn't Amaya also suspect/know, after the dog walker describing the lady who was on the street at the time of the explosion, who followed the ambulance? This attempt on her and Vale's life is one of the main reasons she decided Vale HAS to go away to the exchange program.

Anita, I agree with most of what you said about Amaya's marrying Cesar, except this:
It was at that point she went to Cesar in desperation
I took her going to Cesar as a calculated part of her strategy to turn Max away from her. She feigned desperation with Cesar and he readily proposed the story that she left Max for Cesar. At this point, that day in Cesar's office, I don't think Amaya had any idea he would eventually propose marriage as both Amaya and Caro were supposed to go to the Vegas coffee conference. Cesar, however, had every intention of being alone with Amaya and perhaps proposing marriage after her acceptance of the using him as the other man scheme. He lied and had Caro's plane ticket and reservation cancelled for this purpose. Also, if you go back and look at that scene, Amaya's affect was artificial, it was clear she was "playing" Cesar.
So. What I'm saying is her going to Cesar was not an act of desperation but her attempt to use him to keep Max at bay. Sadly, as Cesar told her just before he assaulted her, "I am more intelligent than you" -- if by intelligent means he is more crafty, devious and ruthless than her, he is right. Amaya miscalculated her ability to manipulate the situation, and Cesar, to her advantage. Again, she is waaaay out of her league.

Speaking of sneakers, has there been a discussion about the odd prevalence of Chuck Taylor All Stars (or a knock off) in this tn? Of course Max wears them all the time and so do the kids. But I've also seen other characters were them when they are dressed down. Most recently, the Padre when he convinced Uli's fired staff to file charges.
Does #21 look tiny on anyone else's browser?
But other random thoughts are that Amaya *was* at her wits end on how to alienate Max. She and Caro were discussing the dilemma and one of them suggested she go to Cesar, knowing he and Max didn't get along at all. That's why I used the term desperation.
I don't think Amaya had a clue she was being snared into Cesar's trap when she first went to him--least of all to the point of marriage. When he got her alone in Las Vegas, she didn't have Caro to consult with (Cesar made sure of that). He worked his twisted logic on her. She didn't HAVE to marry him, but in her mind that protected her from Lucrecia and separated her definitively from Max.
I'm looking forward to this week's action and comments.
Thanks for this list Anita. I love the theme.
Had Lu not murdered Amaya's parents and madrina, she would not be in this position. Had Lu not been such a master of deceit while hiding behind the sainted cloak of motherhood, exposing her to her family and the authorities would not be such a risky task; had Lu not tried to murder Amaya and Vale, she would not be so desperate in her need to protect as well as expose Lucrecia and Cesar.
All that is true and paired with the still true fact that Amaya is way over her had and put in a position she should not have been and she can't, under this kind of mental and emotional pressure be expected to be the cool, calculating defender of justice she imagined herself to be.
I think we have many more episode of gut-churning action!
Luce admitted it all, her ire rising. One thing led to another and she pushed Dolores through a glass partition. The glass broke, Dolores fell backwards and I believe she was knocked out. Luce took a sharp piece of the glass and stabbed her.
Amaya found her after Luce had left. She'd lost a lot of blood. Dolores had just enough life in her to tell Amaya that indeed, Lucrecia confessed to having killed David and Florencia.
When the authorities interview Amaya she tells them her godmother was already dead. She didn't want to put herself or her daughter at risk by revealing what Dolores had told her.
That was when she had to decide between love and justice. She chose justice over love--and the whole renouncing of Max was next (which we just finished discussing above--although it happened several weeks ago).
Amaya WAS pushed to this by the evil Lucrecia and while we all understood it her main strategy, making a deal with the devil, Cesar was controversial and we all feared what would happen to her by "making a deal" with that devil!
Oh, thank goodness Delores can't see what has happened to her daughters since she died!
on the how does Cesar know Amaya slept w/Max thing
I ffd the rape but I thought when Amaya & Caro were talking after
Amaya said that Cesar knew about her & Max the most recent time while they were lost and Caro asked how Cesar knew and Amaya said she didn't know, but maybe he overheard them talking about it, and then she said one reason she didn't want to go to the police about the rape was that it would come out that the rape was revenge for her having sex w/Max and she thought that maybe if Max didn't know they had sex Cesar would leave him alone.
Max's "taking what's HIS" just convinces him it must be done.
Caro’s apartment - After the assault and shower, Amaya replays Cesar’s threat—He can’t wait to have Max confront him so he can kill him. Caro offers Amaya tea and advice. She can’t be thinking of going back to the Montesinos Mansion now. Amaya doesn’t know what she’s going to do. She’d like to go to a gynecologist so she’d have an official document against Cesar. Caro points out she should have done that before she showered. Amaya says she just felt so dirty, and she only thought of it while she was in the shower.
Same Night, Different Outcome - Juliana and Jorge arrive at part 2 of his surprise--a petal-laden hotel room. They make love in slow motion. There are lots of bare backs, bare arms, touching, caressing and kissing (but somehow, its beauty does not quite erase in my mind what happened to Amaya earlier). Next morning Alan and Jorge bond over an accidentally spilled glass of water. Elo can see how well they get along, like a father and son. Juli is pleased (and she is exhibiting that “special” glow). Jorge gets ready to leave for El P. He promises to call her when he gets there and she promises to let him know what it was that Cesar sprayed inside her car. They kiss and keep kissing until Jorge has reached the doorway and then he steals one more kiss. Juli and Elo talk about the love of Juli’s life. She’s so content having him by her side, nothing else matters.
As a by-product of Juli’s running into Armando, he finds he’s being dismissed by the school. He can’t believe it. What he’s being accused of happened many years ago. Directora doesn’t care, she doesn’t want someone like him around these children, who are exceptionally vulnerable. She’s being pro-active, that’s all. He’s upset that at his age it will be very difficult for him to find another job. Directora does not back down.
Montesinos Mansion - Consta and Max have returned home to “their” room after their intimate restaurant dinner. They have a long conversation about Max getting a hair cut the next day. Max tells her about Amaya sending Val to live with Horacio and now he knows why, to get her out their lives. Max’s only preoccupation is Consta. Consta is over the moon. She can’t wait to move to El P. and nothing would make her happier than make love with him.
Cesar’s Hideaway - Next morning Cesar emerges from ground zero of his assault on Amaya. He finally listens to his mother’s message as he downs a couple of aspirins. He finally calls her. She’s furious he’s been out of touch with her. She tells him she needs to see him, it’s very important. She’ll come to him. He doesn’t want her to come to his den of iniquity. She’s so insistent. He gives in to mommy.
Cesar climbs back under the covers and calls Aaron/Negro. Negro teases Cesar about how it went the night before. Cesar is not pleased he asked. He wants to know where Amaya went after she left his apartment. Negro says he doesn’t know. He went home, assuming she was going to stay all night. Cesar is not pleased at the insinuation. Negro says, in effect, he’s not a robot, he’s human, has a life, needs to sleep and eat. Cesar is not pleased to hear he can’t go 24/7. He instructs Negro to hire someone else if he can’t do it. She is to be watched day and night. Negro doesn’t think that it’s possible to do that. Cesar is not pleased, AT ALL. He hangs up on Negro calling him an estupido, imbécil, inutil and an idiota. He wonders where Amaya went.
Finca La Tormenta, WUN - Cecy tells Iván she has everything is ready for their trip to Mexico City for his medical checkup. Tadeo knocks and comes in. He asks Iván how he’s doing. Iván is confused because he doesn’t recognize Tadeo. Cecy steps in to “explain” to Tadeo that Iván has several gaps in his memory and that is why she is taking him to Mexico City. Cecy tells Tadeo to get the suitcases and wheels Iván out, calling him “mi amor.” Tadeo catches that. Outside, he asks Cecy in private, what she meant by calling Iván, “mi amor.” Cecy tells him to shut it when it comes to asking about her private life. Tadeo wonders why Iván isn’t asking about Mariana. If he’s got some gaps in his memory, perhaps talking about Mariana will help him. Cecy is intractable and tells him to butt out.
Finca El Deseo - Ulises roughly wakes up a sleeping Mariana and tells her to get out of bed. The nurse said she needs to become active. Mari says she doesn’t care. Uli says it’s an order. He shows her some new clothes to put on. Someone is coming to take pictures for her new passport. He’s arranging for them to leave the country as quickly as possible.
Nescafé Offices - In a surprising turn, Amaya has come to the office with Caro (in a short-short dress). She hopes she won’t run into Cesar. They noted his car wasn’t in the garage. Right away Amaya wonders how Cesar heard what she and Max did in Chiapas. Caro suspects rightly he must have cameras and microphones in her office to spy on her. She knows for sure the door wasn’t open. Amaya looks around perfunctorily and then says directly to the hidden microphones and cameras that she will no longer speak of anything about her private life in the office, Cesar (adding his name out loud, too). Caro is going to do some checking on the campaign while Amaya makes sure funds are transferred for Vale’s scholastic intercambio (it sounded more like a summer camp—Vale did say that it sounded like it would be fun, but because it seems to her more like a punishment, she started out disliking the idea).
AY PAPI! MOVE OVER FERNANDO COLUNGA, THERE IS A NEW TBLMOE* IN TOWN - Max walks into Mauro’s office in his new “luke,” hair cut short, suit (no tie, but hey, something has to distinguish him from Mauro besides age). Mauro compliments him. He likes the new haircut. Juli comes in and also compliments him on how guapo he looks. Mauro asks his secretary for Cesar’s whereabouts. She says Amaya is in, Cesar is still out. Mauro will catch up with him later. He adds that he doesn’t want to be interrupted.
Mauro wanted to tell all three of them that he’s definitely going to proceed with a divorce from Lucrecia. The decision is irrevocable. Oh, my eyes, we get a close-up of Max telling his dad he wishes the news were unexpected (I’m melting), but he’s been expecting it for a long time (lucky Amaya in El Fin). Mauro assures Juli that what happened the day before did not precipitate the decision, it was a long time building. It was just the drop that made the glass overflow. He doesn’t want her to feel she’s at fault. He goes on to explain the terms, including staying in the house until the divorce is final. Mauro also lets them know he’s going to take Lucio and petition for full custody. Juli and Max think it’s the right thing to do, especially when they hear she tried to threaten him with taking Lucio with her.
Mauro is either going to call Flavia, go to El P. to tell her in person or have her come to Mexico City. Max is positive she’ll understand. He and Juli are only worried about Lucio. Even though he and Luce never got along, lately there’s been some change for the better. It’s really for Lucio’s sake he’s staying in the house; the better to prepare him for the separation. He also intends to consult with Lucio’s psychologist.
Max reminds his dad he and Consta will be leaving for El P. soon, leaving Luce alone in the house with him and Lucio. Mauro reminds Max that Cesar and Amaya will still be there, too. Ah, yes, muses Max, he’d forgotten about the pair of “tortolitos” (turtle-doves). Mauro is going to try to find a house not far from them and kindly turns down Juli’s offer for him to move in with her.
Cesar’s Hideaway - Mama Dearest has arrived and is appalled by Cesar’s Pigsty. It even smells so bad she has to get out a hanky to cover her nose. She tells him of Mauro’s latest move to divorce her after the blow-up over Juliana and the music teacher she paid off. They have to stop the divorce, at all costs. She warns Cesar if the divorce goes through, the Montesinos Empire might slip right through his hands. This wakes Cesar up. Luce rattles on how she “gave in” to Mauro despite her fury, to gain them some time. Cesar tries to get her to see reality. Either she allows the divorce to go through or she stays married. (Luce has another option open, of that we can be sure.) But she tells Cesar they have to change plans, change strategy. First of all, everything of Amaya’s has to be ceded to Cesar. He must get her to turn over the Zona Estrella to him legally. It’s urgent to do so as soon as possible. He doesn’t think that will be possible just then. Things aren’t too good between him and Amaya.
Luce is horrified to learn from him that Amaya and Max did “cositas” while they were lost in Chiapas together. She’s doubly horrified (you can tell by her bugged-out eyes) to learn Cesar “paid her back” by forcing her to have sexual relations with him. She calls *him* an imbécil for violating her. Cesar said she wasn’t responding in a “wifely” manner. Luce says how on earth could that have occurred to him. Cesar says he couldn’t let them get away with it. Luce says suppose she files a complaint against him. It could be means for her to divorce him. He won’t let either of those things happen. Luce drives the spike in a little deeper—and does he think Amaya will change her attitude towards him after what happened?
Luce thinks Cesar has thrown it all away. He had Amaya eating out of his hand. Cesar says he has no regrets (you, you vile, filthy, pond scum excuse of a man). He says Amaya deserved it. He doesn’t care what mama thinks, he *always* gets what he wants. Luce thinks the only way to fix this is for him to beg her pardon, apologize, tell her anything. Cesar says that will nevva happen. Luce points out they need her on their side. They need her lands and they’ll need her help when Florencia appears.
Consta Visits the Doc - If Consta were a puppy, she’d be wriggling that hind end of hers and jumping up to lick the doc’s face. He’s just told her she can travel, as long as she gets plenty of rest. Of course she can’t wait to tell Max, ‘cause she’s thinking of doing her own “cositas” with Max.
Nescafé Offices - Juli takes advantage of Cesar’s absence to go into his office and hunt for the slim spray can he “said” was for his allergies. It takes her awhile and we think someone is going to walk in on her, but she finds it in his briefcase, sprays some into a cup and puts the can back. Silly woman, she takes a couple of whiffs as she walks out. Back in Mauro’s office, he and Max are still talking about the divorce. Max is sure Mauro will handle things well for Lucio’s sake and he and Juliana will be there to help him. Mauro starts waxing poetic on the good qualities of all his children (including Cesar, whom he calls brilliant), but he concedes there is something special about Max. Max tells him he feels the same way. Mauro tells him they seem to have so much in common. Their destinies were so similar, even in matters of love. Max is the one most like him.
Max ponders his relationship with Amaya with Mauro. He truly believed that saving her from drowning was a sign, their destinies were to be tied together for ever, but now he sees it wasn’t to be; she never fell in love with him. Mauro feels sad about that aspect because with him and Florencia, even though they continued to be separated, they never doubted their love for each other. Max sighs and says life goes on and no one has ever died of love. Maybe not, answers Mauro, but when he heard about their accident on the road, he would have dies, not have been able to carry on if he and Amaya had died. In a tender moment, Mauro tells Max how baby Max stole his heart the first time he was put in his father’s arms as a newborn. They are both choking up with emotion. They end the scene with a wonderful, meaningful abrazo. (I wished the episode had ended with this scene—I was tearing up, too).
Instead we have a snippy, snappy Amaya handing Whoracio some papers that needed to be signed for Vale to leave the country on the exchange program. He tells her a whopping big lie that Vale is angry with him because she thinks he gave in to force her to go on this exchange program. Amaya doesn’t care one whit. It’s for her own good and he’d better hop to it, she needs to turn in the permission stat. He will, in exchange for money. He warns her not to go runtelldat to her “maridito” or he and Vale will go to the authorities and tell them she’s the one ordering him to sign the documents when neither he nor Vale want this exchange. Whoracio gives her his bank account number while she gives him a very hateful look.
Then we get a another look at Gorgeous Max in his deep lavender shirt on the phone with Consta, who is still giddy from the visit to the doctor’s and tells him she’s good to go. Max tells her that’s good news because he wants to leave the house as soon as he can. He tells Consta about the pending divorce of Mauro and Lucrecia.
Iván Visits the Doc - Iván and Cecy are consulting with the doctor in his office. The Doc asks Iván about his accident. He can’t remember it, so Cecy fills in the doc. He’s a bit surprised she never had an attending physician for him, only a curandera. Iván is worried about his loss of memory. The doc says physically the curandera didn’t do any harm, but he should have been taken immediately for an x-ray to see if he’d received any head trauma, since obviously now there has been. Cecy only looks mildly guilty. Iván wants to be reassured that he will recover all his memory. Doc says he’d need to run some special tests to give him a proper diagnosis. Iván insists they go ahead with them immediately.
Nescafé Offices - Just as TBLMOE II is walking down the hall, Cesar emerges from the elevator and sees the transformed Max in his new “luke.” Cesar, never having anything nice to say to Max comments sarcastically:
Cesar says, “Why so formal? Ah, you want to be like me, Max. You are a long way away from attaining that level of success.”
Max says, “Oh, Cesarín, you never change. Believe me I have no interest in looking (or being) like you, not in any way.”
Cesar whips out his cell phone for a picture. He says, “You looked better with your hair long.”
Max says, “Did I ask you? Ah, no, I didn’t ask you.”
Cesar changes his cell phone to a mirror and examines himself, “Of course, I’m much handsomer.”
Finca El Deseo - Uli has just set up his photographer friend in the despacho at El D. for Mariana’s passport pictures. He leaves. She’s dressed in white, but not as a bride. Before the photographer can snap any pictures, she asks if *he* would go to the bathroom that is just down the hall and get her something to pin up her hair?. Clueless, he says of course. (Estupido Uli should have stayed in the room until the pictures were done and Mari is returned to her prison cell.) As soon as he leaves, she goes to the phone on Uli’s desk. She asks for the phone number for the Nescafé offices in Mexico City. She gets connected and asks for Amaya Serrano. Freeze frame on Mariana’s panicked face
*The term TBLMOE was coined on CarayCaray back when (even before my time) Fernando Colunga was starring in every other telenovela as a man of action with a sword and with the ladies. Women were swooning over him, not just on CarayCaray. For more recent viewers, it means The Best Looking Man On Earth.
and thanks for translating TBLMOE
Oooh like the new look
oh please please please let Mariana get hold of Amaya
and please please please let her be rescued
or at least find out Uli didn't cause the accident
I wonder if I can keep my fingers crossed till tomorrow
I don't know what Tadeo can do but he is KEY! Let Hector come to La Tormenta for goodness sake! Are they going to let Uli get out of the country with Mariana! Is this going to drag on to the end of the story? I HATE that this is being done to Ivan and Mariana!
I thought there would be movement on the rape accusation today, but in another misstep like we discussed extensively earlier, Amaya has taken a shower. Will they take this marital rape angle any further?
Thank goodness somebody had some smarts! Even though she sniffed the coffee cup, I'm glad Juliana got a bit of the mercury spray! Please let her continue to be smart and get it to a reputable lab ASAP with NO bungling like Amaya's lab experience.
Juli and Jorge were the bright spots with their new love (sans our chance to peek in on them) and Juli getting a sample of the spray!
Oh yes, and Max WAS indeed scrumptious!!
Thanks gain, Anita!
Yep. CdlF is adorable with longer hair, but he is HOT with short hair! Loved the new grown up look too, and had to LOL at Cesar preening and declaring he is hotter. In your delusional dreams, Cesar!
I thought Amaya said one of the reasons she was so eager to take a shower was also because her period started (me caye la regadera).
Did they fill up the couple of minutes it took with extra commercials, or what?
I forgot (a bit shamefaced) to give Lila credit for this week's headliner. She suggested a list of pecados that needed a second shoe to drop a week ago. I already had last week's headliner done, so I saved Lila's for this week. I did tweak it a bit.
THANK YOU, LILA
Quierto Amarte is the new Dead Pool!
"We can do rape, and gore and violence people, but no love, heaven forbid!" Hypocrites!
I'll have to look for it online, I need that kind of scene: this and Sombra have me feeling pretty anxious and keyed up inside!
All we saw was the fake out with the rose petals, laughing, a rather chaste kiss and the next thing Juli and Jorge are in her living room with Juli wearing a happy-goofy smile and Alan runs in and quite appropriately splashes water on Jorges. . er.. lap! I thought it was weird!
Love? Heaven forbid. We'd be in danger of forming families (any kind), stable homes and babies.
I don't think the body count will go up too far, because QA has too few expendable characters.
I do hope Amaya gets Juliana on her team pronto! Juli is much better at this spy thing. Amaya shouldn't be doing anything in her office, knowing there could be cameras on her computer.
Kelly
It's a nickname for Cesar (his real name), used sarcastically. I think it could be interpreted as Little Cesar. (A variation for Cesarito, perhaps?)
Yesterday when Caro & Amaya figured out the only way Cesar could have learned about the dalliance Amaya had with Max in the shack, she spoke to all the hidden cameras and microphones that she would NOT be discussing any of her business, henceforth. Office business is probably ok.
Personally, I don't think those cameras and microphones are going to last very long, now that she knows about them.
It won't be too long before she realizes she's being followed and spied on 24/7. She's not going to take that for very long either. Anyway, here's hoping at any rate.
Off to watch the episode now. See you all later.
So glad you stopped in to add to the voices of all the ooohs and aaahs over Max's new luke. Indeed I just didn't understand why wardrobe wanted to make him look so, and I mean SO casual when this specimen of a man is----Hot, guapo, scrumptious, gorgeous and to swoon over.
Yesterday we left Mari trying to reach Amaya at Nescafe by phone! Darn it! She doesn’t have enough time! The photographer returns with some hair paraphernalia accompanied by Uli who is suspicious of Mari’s efforts to look nonchalantly out the window. Mari ties on a scarf and, despite being monitored by the devil, takes some really cute pictures. The photographer packs his gear and leaves. Uli dismisses Mari to “her room” but she begs off, promising him she just wants to walk around a bit: She knows she is his and she does not want to risk hurting Amaya or Valeria. He “graciously” grants her an hour under Effer’s surveillance and if she’s “good” he’ll extend it.
Ivan has all kinds of radiographic imaging and lots of blood drawn at the hospital.
Juli is walking around with that open cup of mercury, holding it as she talks to Elo on the phone. Juli is going to a lab with the liquid so she can find out right away what Cesar was spraying in her car. Elo will stay with Lucio and Alan. Juli shares with Elo that Mauro is going to divorce Lucrecia. Elo’s eyes increase in wattage and she’s fairly breathless as she asks how Lu took it. Not very well, Juli answers but her Papa has mind made up!
Elo feels that finally Lu is beginning to face the consequences for cruel and evil deeds. Juli is excited that now with the divorce, it will be easier for them to share with Mauro what they suspect about her other evil schemes! Elo, who had once cautioned Juli to hold back agrees! Lu is absolutely amoral and Mauro has a right to know about all of it: Olarravieta , the fake psychiatrist “treating” Lucio; Lu’s adulterous relationship with Omar; Omar’s death!
Elo has hung up with Juli now and is daring to dream: Mauro is finally going to free of Lu and all her malignancy! He deserves a woman who will love him no matter what! Elo’s glow is tempered by her realization that she is forbidden to Mauro being his sister-in-law and all. He probably has a great affection for her as his children’s aunt but he doesn’t love her; not the way she loves him!
Amaya, Amaya, Amaya! You said you weren’t going to discuss your life in your office ever again and there you and Caro are talking about 1) Having to pay Whor to sign the permission slip for Vale to go to the summer exchange program; 2) How everything you’re doing is to protect your daughter and to see justice done; 3) How you would have loved to give Vale a father like Max and how you hope to have a child with him one day. And now, with all this talk, you’ve raised satan: in walks Cesar.
He asks for privacy. Caro leaves but only after Amaya signals her it’s ok. He must’ve put pepper in his eyes; they are red and full of tears. He asks Amaya to pardon him, she goes off on him: He thinks it’s a simple matter of words after how he hurt her physically, emotionally, how he degraded and humiliated her?! He tries to blame it on the rage he felt upon learning about her and Max: he couldn’t help himself. THAT IS NO JUSTIFICATION!! Amaya shouts. Amaya is standing with the desk between them like a protective shield and Cesar for some time has been sitting in the chair in front of the desk. Oh, he is turning on the waterworks and thank Goodness Amaya plays this right and is unmoved!! Suffice it to say she essentially tells him to go to hell where his satan-ass belongs. He tries to come to her and touch her. She YELLS at him not to touch her! He stops. He promises to show her with acts how sorry and repentant he is! He finally leaves and Amaya stamps the floor in anger!
Max has stopped by the MM to talk to Lucrecia. Connie is in a fresh white dress and not showing the least bit of a baby bump. They are affectionate with each other. Lu comes in and expresses surprise that Max is home at such an early hour. The last time she said almost those same exact words it was to Juli who proceeded to slap the shit out of her. Well, she’s about to get walloped again but in a different way. Connie excuses herself so Max and Lu can talk. Lu tries to cast Mauro’s demand for a divorce as a foolish act, as craziness! Max doesn’t agree: he says their marriage ended long ago and she and his dad just stayed together out of habit, maybe affection, but not love. Next Lu tries to blame Juliana for Mauro’s decision. Nope! The crux of the problem is she always tries to blame others for the harm she does. Lu gasps! She can’t believe Max is going to believe some random over HIS OWN MOTHER! Max admits it was hard for him to believe what she did to Lucio and even more what she’d done to Juliana but he has had to accept that when it comes to having her way, she is ruthless! [This is a major realization for the trusting Max!] Oh! Now Max is so hard and cruel to her and Lu tries on the sainted halo of motherhood. How DARE he judge her! “Yes, you are my mother and you always will be and I care for you, you gave me life but that doesn’t mean I have to be in agreement with everything you do or the manner in which you do it!” She accuses him of judging her; he denies it saying he’s just trying to be sincere, open and objective with her. Lu goes for pity: Max is on his father’s side! Oh, how his words hurt her! She declares if he’s done, this conversation is over! She snatches her purse and huffs away toward the kitchen.
Amaya debriefs with Caro who offers her usual tender/tough love. Amaya can’t stand the idea of having to be near Cesar. Caro counsels she must be strong! They leave to go to the cafeteria where they can talk more privately.
There is a quick scene of Manuel and Jose on the grounds of. . .where is this? Wherever Manuel’s offices are. More of Jose being snotty, not quite saying “thank you” but grudgingly admitting that he’s now free because of Manuel’s money; not accepting Manuel’s asking perdon of Jose for not being the kind of father he deserved. Not only does Jose not accept it, he coolly chastises Manuel for leaving him to be raised by “a secretary” instead of giving him luxuries and all the other benefits of having a rich daddy. Manuel digs him out for this insensitive, pricky remark. He accuses them of being egoistic, he because of not recognizing him and flooding him with all that moolah can buy, and she because she didn’t want riches and luxury. Neither of them thought of her. The little bastard! Nevertheless Manuel tells him he will start the process to give Jose his rightful last name (and all that implies) and that he has asked Geno to marry him. Whether he does depends on Jose. Manuel asks if Jose wants them all to form a family. Jose looks off in the distance but doesn’t answer.
Cesar orders a boat load of flowers and receives the memory stick from his Secretary. He looks at the pictures and is glad they got it because the pictures are damning! Cesar pockets the memory card.
Jorge arrives back to El P and something I beseeched the novella gods for may be coming to pass: Hector gets permission to go to La Tormenta to look for Ivan! YES! Hector knows that Ulises people still have everyone at El P under surveillance but he doesn’t know it’s because Uli is holding Mariana prisoner. It’s good that Hector knows he’s being watched though and he promises he’s going to be extra careful that he’s not followed! DOUBLE YESS!! Jorge will cover with Cesar.
Right at this moment Uber Evil Uli is touring his new administrator around El Deseo. Uli explains this new guy will be in charge of everything. Uli wants the gains and benefits of owning a coffee plantation without doing any of the work. He plans to move to South America with his “novia” and will get monthly payments from his bountiful and fertile lands. New administrator guy (nag) will move into El D so he can better manage things. Nag says Uli’s coffee is almost of the same quality as that grown at El P. Uli begs to differ: his coffee is better than that grown in El P and Nag shouldn’t forget it! [Date yourself and tell me you can hear the voice of Quickdraw McGraw when you read this line. :D ]
Uuuuf! That scuz bucket Effer is watching Mari like a hawk! [These baddies sure can find some brown-nosing boot lickers, can’t they!] Good girl! Mari is thinking to herself she’s got to lose this loser so she can communicate with Amaya! A pleasant mature lady has answered a summons from Mari. She didn’t know Uli had hired all new house staff. Mari requests an “Agua de Jamaica” [Hibiscus tea is a herbal tea made as an infusion from crimson or deep magenta-coloured calyces (sepals) of the roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) flower. It is consumed both hot and cold. It has a tart, cranberry-like flavor, and sugar is often added to sweeten the beverage. – Wikipedia, what else?] and then mulls over what this change of staff could mean. Uli did this so no one could help her. The only one from the old staff is Effer, his faithful dog. Right on cue, said mutt appears and follows Mari back into her room.
Amaya and Caro are in the cafeteria now. Amaya remembers back in Chiapas when she was still recovering from crashing into the river and had fled the hospital to get away from Whor. She and Max checked in to a little hostel (separate rooms) and one morning Max brewed her some Nescafe in a coffee maker he bought just for her. Ahhhh. Amaya hasn’t seen times like these for days and days. . . Oh, if Max only knew how she misses his presence, his love, and his warmth. Caro brings her back to reality. One day she may be back with Max but for now she has to figure out what she’s going to do about Cesar. Caro admits things have gotten complicated but soon the nightmare will be over. Caro informs her she has gotten the name, cell phone number and email of Aaron Mendez (Negro) who works there at Nescafe. She is going to cozy up to him to see what she can find out. Amaya is afraid: this guy killed Gustavo, he’s dangerous! Caro knows but feels she has to do it and is sure (I don’t know how) that the same thing won’t happen to her! They both agree that Caro will play it cool and try to “provoke a casual encounter.” [I don’t know girls, how many of y’all’s plans have worked out so far? One thing I can say, the women in this show have some True Blue friendships: Amaya and Caro; Elo and Juli; Nora and Connie. Nice to have a minimal cattiness factor in this show!] Amaya’s face reflects her trepidation.
Satanic Cesar is back in his office and takes a call from Aaron. (Hmmm. Could Caro have called him already? ) He’s telling Cesar he has to take off up north for a few days to attend to a personal matter. (No, this doesn’t sound like Caro could’ve called him.) Cesar, being Cesar, berates him for this request. Outside Cesar’s office Whor arrives and is told he can go on in. Cesar’s back is turned as Whor opens the door and gets an earful: He learns that Aaron (Negro) and Cesar are working together AND that the whole clothing business investment is a big, fat trampa, a lie, a trap! “Hurry up and get everything in order so that idiot will think he’s about to become a big (apparel) magnate!) He’s been being played, BIG TIME!
Mauro is at Nescafe and calls to talk to Flavia. Again, where is she with this beautiful, calming, chortling fountain nearby? Mauro wants to talk to her about an important decision he made. Flavia gently tries to get it out of him.
The new cook arrives with Mari’s agua de Jamaica. Faithful dog Effer stands guard. Before he can open the door two workers show up, anxious for Effer to come with him to see a problem they have that he must see with his own eyes. He needs to see and then decide whether to tell his master. He tries to decline, but they are insistent. Effer instructs one of the two to stay and keep an eye on Mari. New cook enters with the tray. I love Mari! She notes that Effer didn’t bring her tray and new cook tells her Effer had to go out. Mari wastes no time and with an economy and accuracy of words that even Vivi would admire, tells new cook the WHOLE story! YEEESSSSS!!
Oh yuck. Let me do this fast. Ceci has Ivan at a hotel where they will stay til the next day when they expect to get the test results from the studies at the hospital. Ivan hopes everything goes well: he is desperate to regain the memory of the last year of his life. Bitch says ask her, and she’ll tell him. Ok. I can hardly stand this. The man is clearly in pain, has not been conscious for even a week, he moves with moans and groans and what does this slug of a “woman” do? She straddles him as he sits in bed and she is NOT Tinkerbell! Oh, she’s going to sleep with him like she always does! UUUUuuf! I can’t stand her! His eyes are open and he’s giving her a “WTF” look as she slimes her mouth on his!
Having laid the foundation Mari pleads with new cook to let her contact her sister, Amaya, at Nescafe. New cook looks a little confused, but not dismissive. New cook is rightly concerned because she just started this new job and Mari understands that, she just wants her sister contacted and told that she (Mari) is here and that her (Amaya’s) life is endanger. Mariana is kneeling at the foot of the bed and begs the new cook to help her, “For the Love of God!”
Meanwhile satan is thought bubbling how as soon as he completes the paperwork giving Nag control over the finca and he gets Mari’s passport and other documents they are out of here! He’s sure he can find somebody who wants to adopt a snot-nosed brat!
Thank goodness, Ivan does not respond to Ceci’s “kisses” and actually has to tell her he is tired and sore. Oh yeah, must be all the tests. Heffa’s not giving up. She wants to “help him relax.” Yeah, I bet she does. Ivan has to take her hand from caressing the back of his neck and tell her HE IS TIRED. She tries to get testy! Heffa curls up at the foot of his bed and announces she’s going to be riiiight there with him! He tries to suggest she might be hungry. Nopes! She’s not going to eat til HE eats. Why don’t they get some sleep, then they’ll eat together. She wants them to do eeeeeverything together! Poor Ivan looks like just what he is: trapped!
Okay, back to El “Deseo”. New cook has a note from Mari and taps on the door and is let out by new door guarder guy (no, no initials!). Mari tries to leave, he stops her. Mari prays that new cook helps her, she’s her only hope! In the kitchen new cook looks at the note which says “Amaya Serrano, Nescafe” folds it and walks away with purpose!
Juli has arrived at a lab to have the sample in the coffee cup tested. Juli is given a form to fill out and tells the clerk she needs the results as soon as possible. Oh no! Juli begins to feel faint and sick. The clerk helps her as she fairly collapses into a chair. Juli asks for a phone and calls Elo to come and get her, she is sick!
Okay. It’s getting late, let me wrap this up. Amaya comes “home” to a foyer and living room full of roses. Lucrecia is there with her afternoon shot of booze. Lu hands her a card from Cesar declaring this is just a small token of his adoration and desire to start over with her. Cesar enters and one can almost cut the phony, toxic atmosphere of plastic smiles and hidden agendas with a knife. Mauro, Max and Connie enter this sickening scene and I have to say I agree with Max and Connie making a quick exit. The baby Connie is carrying is innocent and doesn’t need to be in this poisonous environment! They don’t leave before witnesses a kiss on the mouth from Cesar that Amaya has to endure. Max smooches Connie up for Amaya’s benefit (Connie may suspect she’s being used but doesn’t mind. Who would, she appears to really have the Scrumptious Max right where she wants him) and announces Connie has been given the okay to “travel.” Wink wink! Nudge nudge! This is not lost on Amaya. Max and Connie and Mauro beat fast retreats to their destinations. Amaya sits down on the sofa with Cesar and learns of Mauro and Lu’s divorce. Lu says it is unjust, inspired by lies and he is requesting a “unilateral divorce.” Cesar assures Lu that THEY are with her. Amaya stands up and announces she has to leave top. Cesar asks can’t she do her part to meet him half way in his efforts to make it up to her. She gets in his face tells him off, among other things that he ought to be glad she stayed and didn’t leave him like Mauro left his mama! Amaya strides out while Cesar flings roses hither and yon. “My, my! This woman knows how to let the claws out!” smiles Lu. Cesar says he knows how to control her, just let him do so.
Outside the MM Amaya replays the recent “kiss” and thinks to herself how much she loathes Cesar and everything that comes from him! She wonders why Mauro is divorcing Lu: this information could be very valuable and she needs to take advantage of it!
Freeze frame on Amaya’s determined face!
Ceci isn't giving up on making out with Ivan: just like Araceli's twisted obsession with Chava on Hasta Fin Del Mundo!
Amaya discussing her private life back in her office (Hmmm, maybe the shot this footage before her declaration the day before and they plugged it in anyway?)
Cesar's fake tears. Maybe he found a vial of glycerine in his poison larder and used it. It was SO fake. He knows it, too. But he had to do it. (Following Mommy's new strategy to get Amaya back on their side by whatever means.
Ok, back to reading. Coffee's ready.
Since he knows no one and has no friends and only talks to Effer, please tell me how he's going to achieve this. I'm not taking his side, but he needs to rethink his plan.
One cute scene which was completely unimportant, but I liked, was Hector describing to Jorge how he was going to elude observation by El P's vigilantes. He's going to pretend to be visiting all the coffee growers in the area to check them out for additional coffee and eventually get to La Tormenta.
Hector's wide open-armed welcome back to Jorge was funny, because he'd only been gone overnight.
I want to believe that what the workers at El D. found that Effer had to go check out was the plagued plants. If so, would that be enough to keep Uli at El D. longer than he'd planned.
Cesar is actually losing control and coming apart on the inside while on the outside still declaring he's in control. I loved watching the Destruction of the Roses.
Lila--Flavia was sitting either in her living room or in a covered patio at El P. She was studying. Good for her.
For once I'm glad for Whoracio. He found out that Cesar knew all about the investment scheme and it was all a put-up job. I'm not glad he gets to keep Amaya's money.
A lot happened yesterday, without it being thrown in our faces in ultimas semanas. Mari might get help. Ivan is beginning to realize he's not as into Cecy as he is supposed to be, being novios and all. Juli actually getting to the clinic and turning in the sample. Caro & Amaya cooking up something to unmask Negro (lots of luck, there--I agree with you, Lila).
It was fun to see everyone in the MM scatter and Lu and Cesar left to eat alone. She remarked on what a family this was, supposedly built on love.
Max was soooo right when he was talking to Lu. You got the words and the essence perfectly in pt 2.
There must be a Henchies R Us store in Mexico. Where do bad guys get these guys from? Negro and Effer can go for HOURS without bathroom breaks, just watching the object of their boss' obsession. I'm glad that Mari is trying to find ways to get word to Amaya, despite her shadow, Effer.
And poor Ivan knows he's not feeling it for Ceci, even without knowing why. That girl is like cling wrap! OMG!
Right now I have NO faith in Amaya's ability to move things forward. I mean, she had no idea about the divorce, even though she's living in the house. Being in the house was supposed to mean she can be in the know about all things Montesinos. Clearly she needs to befriend the maids or something so that she can get the gossip as soon as it hits and can take advantage.
I only wish the old Cling Wrap was still available. It really did cling. Well, for Ivan's sake, I hope she's more like the current products that don't cling very well!
She hadn't seen Mauro any time after she got to the office and he, Max and Juli would have been her only other source of that information. They aren't very friendly right now.
As for the maid service. It's something Amaya could consider and just hasn't thought of yet, but she rightly doesn't know if she could trust them. After all, they are Luce's trusted servants, even if she does mistreat them. We've only seen one so far in the house.
Amaya needs to hurry up and get back on the sunny side of the street! She does NOT have this cold, hard, champion of justice thing down AT ALL!
Anita, I just hope that with Hector on the way to La Tormenta and Tadeo still employed there and aware of Ceci's strange behavior with Ivan that this plot is over TODAY! Please don't let them carry this further!
Okay. Today's show is about to come on. I'll continue with comments during commercials!
Juli was great at snooping and getting the mercury, but sniffing it like an addict with glue, was NOT wise.
Are we in ultimas semanas! On one hand I'm glad cause it means soon Ivan and Mari will be free but on the other hand it is and has been such an exciting ride that I don't want THIS to stop! I've just gotten into my stride doing recaps and love this time slot and this community. Oh well, we'll see what's next but for now.
Thanks for telling me where Flavia was. I am so ready for Cesar and Lu to get the BIG anvils!
I soooo cannot stand Ceci! Uuuuf! There may not be much cattiness between the women but Ceci brings the cat and (female) dog factor enough for the whole show!
I'm with you on Amaya's inability to move things forward. Poor thing, I have to remember everything she's been through. She's trying to be a crafty deveil to unmask a crafty devil but she ain't got it. AT ALL!
Part 1:
Cesar Dreams of Being the Coffee Czar
Cesar and Lucrazy eat alone at Montesinos Manor, just as they prefer. Cesar sits at the head of the table, and Lucrazy proudly notes that it looks good on him. They plot and plan their takeover of the Montesinos Coffee Empire. With the shares in Nescafe that Lu already has, being able to control Lucio’s shares, and the shares she will get out of her divorce settlement, added to the shares Cesar has, THEY will rule the entire Koffee Kingdom and no one will be able to stop them. Bwahahaha!!!! Well there is the problem of Juliana, who owns most of the land the coffee is grown on, but they can control her by keeping her poisoned and depresses. And then there’s Amaya’s Zona Estrella. They wonder why she was snooping into Cesar’s DNA. Cesar dismisses it, since they already neutralized that threat with the tampered DNA. Plus, he’s sure he can control his little woman. Lu isn’t so sure, and suggest the best way to get their hands on Zona Estrella would be for Amaya to meet her end (and presumably leave her land to Cesar). Their evil thoughts give them warm fuzzies.
Emperor Cesar and His Slave/Whor Gets Blood on His Hands/RIP Negro
Horacio is hopping mad after overhearing Cesar gloat over the phone to Negro about pulling a fast one on Whor. He heads straight to Negro’s apartment building and makes a nuisance of himself ringing the bell and yelling. The building super comes out and tells him Negro just stepped out, and no he can’t let Whor into the building to wait. The flash of a few bills seems to change his mind, and Whor is right there to jump Negro at his door as soon as he gets back from purchasing his plane ticket to Monterrey. A throw down breaks out between the two all over Negro’s living room. Whor demands that Negro give him back the money he invested in the fake clothing business. Negro says HE doesn’t have it. He calls Cesar with one hand while fighting Whor with the other. Cesar picks up just as Whor knocks the phone out of Negro’s hand and to the couch. Cesar hears as the fight continues. Whor punches Negro, Negro’s hand gets cut on the glass coffee table on his way down, where his head cracks against the floor. Negro is DEAD!
Whor panics and calls Negro’s name repeatedly as he tries to shake him back to life. Cesar yells from the phone for Whor to pick up, which he eventually does. Cesar instructs Whor to leave the apartment and the body, and go home to wait. At home, Whor cries, drinks, and laments the permanent loss of his (Amaya’s) money. Cesar arrives to rub salt, and lemon, and chili pepper into Whor’s wound. He lets Whor know that he now OWNS him. He knows Whor stole the money from Amaya, and now he knows Whor murdered Negro. Whor is resistant to the idea of being Cesar’s property, so Cesar pulls out his phone and starts to dial the police. Whor finally gives in, gets to his knees, and agrees to be Emperor Cesar’s slave and loyal dog. He gets a pat on the head for his obedience.
Clingwrap Ceci and Obsessed Ulises
While Ivan sleeps, and dreams of dark-haired, green-eyed goddess Mariana, Ceci clings and slithers all over him. He awakes and asks her about his dream girl, but Ceci assures him she is nothing more than a figment of his dreams. Meanwhile in El Deseo, Ivan’s plans for selling up and feeling the country with Mariana are starting to go up on smoke. Effer takes him out to see the sick coffee plants and informs him that the whole crop will be gone in two weeks. They’ll have to burn all the fields and start over. There’s also no way anyone will want to buy the land with the infested crops. Uli gives Effer his marching orders—see that the infected areas stay confined and hidden, and sell before anyone realizes. If he goes down, so do all of them! Inside the house, Mariana continues to plot her escape. No way is she leaving the country with Ivan’s killer. Uli takes Mariana’s tray of food from the new maid, who has followed Mari’s instructions and called Nescafe asking for Amaya on behalf of her sister. Unfortunately, Amaya wasn’t around, but the maid promises to try again tomorrow. She secretly conveys this information to Mariana by writing it on the napkin she delivers with Mariana’s meal. Uli tells the maid that when he and Effer aren’t around, she will be in charge of Mariana. Viewerville cheers!
Hector Looks for a Son, But Instead Finds a Wife
Hector takes his leave of Jorge and Flavia (who is down about her parents’ divorce). He’s sown the rumors that he’s going to multiple haciendas to buy coffee and will make sure he loses on tails Uli puts on him. He arrives at La Tormenta, WUN, and encounters the back of Rebecca. She immediately recognizes his voice, and does her best to send him away quickly before he sees her face. Without turning around she tells him neither Ceci nor Ivan are there. The peon who let him into the study confirms what REBECCA is saying, and finally the familiar voice with the familiar name click in Hetcor’s head. He marches into the study to face her and finds himself face to face with the wife who ditched him and their son many years ago.
Juli’s Day Goes from Bad to Worse
Mauro and Eloisa hurry off to pick up Juliana after hearing about her collapse at the clinic. Amaya has just arrived to pick up Val, and offers to babysit the kids while they are away. At the clinic, a still faint Juli tries to wriggle out of going to the doctor, but Mauro and Elo won’t hear of it. She gets her receipt for the mercury sample she just dropped off for testing, and lies to Mauro that she was there to pick up some diet pills. (That should have been his first clue that she was lying!) At the hospital, Juli’s doctor comes out to tell Mauro and Elo that not only was there a toxic substance in Juli’s blood which caused her fainting spell, but when they did urine tests, they found an elevated hormone level. Further tests show that Juli has a major cyst on her ovary and they need to operate right away. Elo vows to stay by Juli’s side the entire time, like her mama, and Maura can’t help but give her a glowing look. The warm fuzzies continue in the waiting room, as Mauro and Elo take each other’s hand and express how much they mean to each other.
The news about Juli’s surgery spreads quickly to Max and Connie, who were dining al fresco and talking an awful lot about a person they both SAY they don’t want to think about—Amaya. Jorge gets the news too and immediately calls his lady love, to tell her how worried he is and how much he loves her.
Adventures in Babysitting
Amaya feeds Valeria, Alan, and Lucio and learns that Lucio does not like chocolate dessert. Her offer to fix that earns another declaration from Lucio to Vale that her mama is NOT mala. They discuss the exchange program and Vale pouts again. When Alan says a friend of his did the program and loved it, and that HE’D love to do it too, Vale starts to change her tune. She wants Amaya to speak to Alan’s mom about letting him go too! Amaya says she will, and breathes a sigh of relief that something is going right for a change. The four are engaged in a game of Sticky Head when Max and Connie arrive to babysit the kids for the night. Whor still hasn’t shown up to pick up Vale, and isn’t answering his calls. Vale pleads with Amaya to let her stay the night with Alan and Lucio, and throws major attitude at her mother when Amaya refuses. Vale turns to Max and asks if she can stay, and he says yes. Vale throws even more major attitude. Amaya puts her foot down and demands that Vale show more respect. Val stomps out to get her things accompanied by Connie, Alan, and Lucio. Max takes the opportunity to get in Amaya’s face to criticize her mothering skills and her love for her daughter. He calls her the most disconcerting woman he has ever known. Amaya doesn’t give a damn what he thinks. (Let me jump in here, because even though I am not a mother, Max’s attitude bugged the crap out of me. HE is not Vale’s parent. Unless Amaya were abusing her child, he had no right to contradict her instructions/orders to HER child, or to question her love for her child, or to question how she parents. Butt out, Max!)
Amaya Seizes the Moment
Amaya and Vale come upon Lucrazy in the Montesinos living room, just as she’s making an appointment to meet with her divorce lawyer at a hotel restaurant that evening. Vale quickly runs up the stairs before the witch’s glare turns her to stone. Lu just wants to know that the brat isn’t staying overnight. Amaya assures her that Whor is coming for her. Lu leaves, and Amaya immediately calls Caro and asks for a favor…
Lu wraps up her meeting over drinks with her lawyer-- he has instructions to bleed Mauro of his Nescafe shares (50%) or get her custody of Lucio. After he leaves, the waiter brings over a note from a lady who paid Lu’s tab. A mysterious lady, dressed all in black and wrapped in a headscarf, is sitting 1 o’clock from Lucrazy, as she reads the letter typed in the now familiar large font: “I know you looked for my remains in the place where you thought you killed me, and that you eliminated the photographer that I sent to follow you. But luckily, he was able to send me the photos before he suffered that accident that was so convenient to you. I know have evidence of your acts/crimes (proceder). We will see each other soon. Florencia.” The color drains from Lucrecia’s face as we fade to gray.
Meanwhile, I'm sure Cecy is Araceli on Steroids: addicted to Ivan & can't stop!
Uli should be on CBS' Stalker: locking Mariana up as prisoner for the 2nd time. Why do I get a feeling he's going to assault her with violent force (see Trujillo & Uranita in La Fiesta del Chivo movie).
David (Lucrecia)

Amaya's plan may not be going quite as she'd hoped, but she's got this gaslighting thing down. I love that Lu and Cesar still think Florencia is alive and aren't as on top as they think.
Kelly
ps. Lila- no need to rush for Thursday's episode. I've got things going on the next couple nights so won't be able to get Friday's up until Saturday.
THEY will rule the entire Koffee Kingdom and no one will be able to stop them. Bwahahaha!!!!
Their evil thoughts give them warm fuzzies.
Cesar arrives to rub salt, and lemon, and chili pepper into Whor’s wound.
Vale quickly runs up the stairs before the witch’s glare turns her to stone.
AND I totally agree with everything you said in your editorial comment which ended with Butt out, Max!
You managed to cover an episode with a death yet keep the tone rollicking! Love it.
Haven't read comments yet bu I did glance that Kelly said she almost felt sorry for Whor. I admit I did. Poor jerk screwed up the only good thing he ever did in his life: marrying Amaya and now his greed has led him to the possibility of spending the rest of that sorry life behind bars.
I think he really does love Vale and that day in the park when he said that Amaya was trying to get rid of them both and then he and Vale embraced, it was very quick, but he was crying. Remember, he doesn't know what we know and how else can it look to him! Yes, he was cheating on Amaya with Emma and that's one of his flaws. He was trying to do what more well-healed guys do (like Manuel) but couldn't pull it off. Interesting that, like Amaya, though they have very different motivations, none of his schemes have worked out either. We know Amaya will prevail in the end but I don't know if Whor is going to make it out alive. For Valeria's sake, I hope he does.
Again, Vivi, thank you! Much more to comment on but that pesky job calleth!
Thanks, Kelly! That will give me time to perhaps work with these tips on recapping I'm picking up.
Vivi: Love the body count and your noting who's responsible and scoring it all!
What end will Lucrecia meet. She is truly a spychopathic liar and serial killer!
I only felt a smidge bad for Whor, but only because I wouldn't wish Cesar on my worst enemy. I'd choose jail over being Cesar's slave, if I were him.
You're right, Vivi. Cesar is going to use Whor for another murder, maybe Max. Cesar still has the ricin and more access to Amaya, maybe he might try to kill her with that. With Juli in the hospital, a toxin found in her blood and the results from the sample she submitted to the lab, hopefully Cesar will be under enough suspicion to be neutralized as a risk to Max and Amaya.
How would that neutralization take place?
Once exposed, would Cesar squeal on Luciferia that she was not only in on this but an earlier poisoning of Mauro?
Would Mauro call the police on them? Police aren't a likely option, this being novela land.
If the mercury plot exposes Cesar and Lu, would Amaya come out with what she knows? Seems to early for that!
Would she leave Cesar?
In other words, if the depression spray shoe drops, what other footwear would it cause to come tumbling down?
When is that recording she made going to come into play?
The number of shoes to drop and the pacing of their falling has kept this engaging and suspenseful. This is definitely going down as one of my all time faves!
I've mentioned that I don't want Whor to die for Vale's sake. Here are a couple of others I fear may be visited by the angel of death:
This is going to be a blow for Mauro: he knows Cesar doesn't get along with Max and is ambitious and aggressive, but he think that's only in business matters. He has no IDEA Cesar would ever do anything to hurt his own family and this will strike Mauro hard. I hope MAURO survives the revelations about to come.
Vivi and I named Connie "cling wrap" and "clinging vine" respectively for good reason. If she lives, I cannot see her letting go of Max. I don't know what the timing is for the rest of the revelations but I don't thnk they'd introduce the pregnancy without some kind of closure on it. Max seems to be really getting into Connie and sees Amaya as a lost cause. I don't think he'd dump Connie just because he overhears Amaya say she is still in love with him as the previews show. The writers want to keep Max noble and principled, thus they had to make him crazy with fever in order to lay with his brother's wife. So, I think he will stay with Connie and she might end up dying in childbirth.
That being said, who the heck knows! They've already surprised me. . .I'm just rambling, need to get back on task with what I'm supposed to be doing!
Vivi, today should be good, Friday even better. Things will have to start wrapping up but at a pace to keep us all glued up until the last minute!
Sophia in FELS
Solecita in Corazon Indomable
are two that come to mind. Still an outrage!
Thank you for the body count. That's the first thing I saw.
I felt sorry for Whoracio for just a lickety split moment. When he was down on his knees before Emperor Cesar. How humiliating. Then I remembered his swaggering, boastful, self-absorbed, conceited (where it came to the ladies), scheming, schlemiel he is and was only sorry it was Cesar who won this round.
He's basically a big coward. At the first sign of trouble, he loses it. Serves him right. Can't wait to see him go down and have to return all of Amaya's money by working it off at menial jobs and having his pay attached.
Being in an "I hate Amaya" mode right now, I just glossed over Max's remarks to Amaya at Juli's house. He is still angry and trying to justify to the umpth degree his dis-love of her and his re-love of Connie. To me it was pathetic, but you nailed it. It was none of his business.
I'm not saying we'll get there for sure, but we still have two more episodes to cover and the weekend!
The only way Cesar has to get the Zona Estrella is to force Amaya threatening her with something she cares about most--kidnapping Vale, anyone? Whor might be up to that if it means he gets some of "his" money back, gets back at Amaya and he and Vale can spend "quality" time together. This is not a spoiler, but how much more obvious can this next step be.
As long as Cesar doesn't have the Zona Estrella in his hands, he will absolutely be against anything happening to Amaya. Lucrecia has made that clear, she's willing to back off until then.
Loved the new note. Lucrecia saw the back of "Florencia" leaving the restaurant. If she's smart, rather than rattled, she'd wonder how Flo could have known she was there, without her security guard or investigator knowing.
I thought she had demanded that Mauro give her a security guard whenever she went out and she promised never to go out alone in the car again. Maybe we're supposed to ignore that for the time being.
I'm intrigued as well on how the report of mercury in her system will affect Mauro. Will she tell him? Will Elo be there to comfort him? Will he see the gravity of the situation--his own son, being groomed to take over as head of Nescafe (or at least his position in it) could possibly be culpable of such a deed? Ummmm, how does Cesar get out of that one? Does he pull a "she's lying" the way he did to Manuel when Manny tried to call him out for blackmailing him into selling him his shares? Ummm, will Mauro believe him?
Oh, the possibilities are endless.
Now, I'm finding THIS news exciting...
The telenovela 'Amor en silencio', when it first aired in 1989, was a critical and public success. It almost swept the Premios TvyNovelas for that year (it won Best Telenovela, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Female Villain, First Actor, Young Lead Actor, Female Revelation, and Best Writer) and is still considered something of a classic, along the lines of 'Cuna de lobos'.
Well, it's getting redone. And, for those of you who have enjoyed this wonderful novela so much and are wondering what the director and writers might be looking at for their next project... wonder no more!
For the remake of 'Amor en silencio' is in the hands of the same writers AND producer who brought us 'Amor bravio', 'En nombre del amor', 'Cuando me enamoro', and 'Quiero amarte' (Carlos Moreno- director, Martha Carrillo & Christy Garcia- writers).
Casting has already started on this novela (which is set to follow 'Que te perdone Dios'- Arturo Peniche (last seen in 'La Malquerida') is confirmed, as is Horacio Pancheri (currently Renato in 'La sombra del pasado').
But the most INTERESTING news, I think, concerns the casting of the male lead's lunatic sister, the psychotic and BSC 'Mercedes'. This is a role that could almost be considered iconic, indeed, one of the original novelas (which starred Erika Buenfil and Omar Fierro) most famous (or infamous) and critical scenes is available for viewing on YouTube, and it remains one of the most gripping, chilling, well-done scenes I have ever scene in any novela... (I'll refrain from saying more because I don't want to spoil anything, but suffice it to say that I'll share it with all of you once the time comes...). Anyway, the producers have cast Alejandra Barros (currently 'Candela' in 'La Sombra del pasado') in this most important role.
So stay tuned!!
(Just thought I'd share this with you all!) :-)
:p
we all get behind sometimes
Steve Boudreaux - Flavia doesn't know Hunky Heriberto luurrves her so she's sort of fixated on Sal
stevey - thanks for the info
this site is the only place I know to get tn news
Hey I have a question did the doctor say the cyst on Juliana's ovary was caused by the toxic stuff she'd been exposed to? I didn't quite get that part.
Here it comes in a minute. As usual, feel free to correct anything or add stuff I missed.
Gonna hit the sack. See y'all tomorrow!
Lucrecia smiles smugly and asks for the check at the café where she just concluded her blind side Mauro consultation with her lawyer. The waiter gives her a note but it’s no random act of kindness: It’s from Florencia! Please see Vivi’s recap from yesterday for a word for word. Lu freaks out as a woman dressed in black leaves the hotel. Lu runs after her wailing “Florencia! Florencia!” She’s so rattled she leaves her purse but not too rattled to get snippy with the doorman, who goes to retrieve it.
I’ll summarize this next scene. Feel free to add details. Hector confronts Rebecca and even gets a little physically rough with her over why she abandoned him and Ivan and where the hell has she been and what the HELL is she doing here and where is HIS son! Hector does everything but turn green and bust out of his clothing: he is majorly pissed! It all yields him nothing as Rebecca lies that Ivan left for his honeymoon and never came back so Ceci, her niece, has gone looking for another administrator to replace him. Hector leaves his phone number and Rebecca cries. We feel nothing for this despicable woman who had the chance to redeem herself at that very moment.
At that very moment Ivan is insisting that Ceci get her own room. He feels uncomfortable around her. He’s not sure why, he needs time and space to himself to clear his head. Hallelujah! She complies but uses this as an opportunity to slime his mouth again.
Brief scene of Geno and spoiled jerk, Jose. Geno trying to get him to forgive Manuel and let them live as a family. Of course, he rejects this because he is enjoying the victim role too much.
Over at El Paraiso, Flavia is not feeling the paradise vibe, more like a tequila vibe. Heriberto comes in to the living room, tells her he missed her at Uni today. He listens patiently as she tells him she’s bummed about her parents’ impending divorce. She imagines how strange and empty life will be without their shared holidays and celebrations. Even though they have their troubles and conflicts, it’s her family. He gently relieves her of the tequila bottle and offers to make her some coffee and lend his listening ear. She takes him up on it and they go to the kitchen. Flavia laments that perhaps she has not found love because her parents were poor role models. Heriberto thinks she can indeed make a fine wife and mother because she is already a wonderful woman, sister and patrona. To her question Heriberto answers he doesn’t think so; he KNOWS so. Just as she had the valor to leave Ulises and make him respect her and her family, she will fight as well when she falls in love, for the man she chooses. Flavia tells him she is feeling better already. Heriberto pledges that whenever she needs him, he will be there for her. I, for one, am glad to see the warmth infuse her eyes as she regards his handsome face, as he makes this pledge.
Ah, it is nightfall and let me give you this disturbing scene quickly. I think Cesar is more openly losing his marbles under the weight of so much evil doing. The fool videotaped his new slave, Whor, burying poor Negro. This puts another link in the ball and chain around Whor’s ankle but we all pray it will come back to bite Cesar in the nuts.
Amaya talks to Caro on the phone and thanks her for the Lucrecia fake out and informs her of Mauro and Lu’s divorce and her need to take advantage of her vulnerability to have “Florencia” appear. Amaya hopes this will lead to Lu’s confessing her crimes. Caro doesn’t think this would lead Lu to confessing but if she attacks “Florencia” that would give Amaya the opportunity to snag her. Amaya looks forward to that day when Don Mauro can be free of his serial killer wife!
Oops! Here comes Lu looking frazzled. Amaya hangs up the phone and takes pleasure in seeing her squirm when she asks Lu if everything is okay. Lu snaps she is, why shouldn’t she be, why does Amaya asks and huffs up the stairs. Amaya’s turn to wear a faint, but smug, smile.
Over at the hospital Mauro and Elo talk to the doctor. Juli is fine but there was a complication and they had to do a complete hysterectomy (please correct if wrong), they had to take her uterus and her ovaries. They worry about how Juli will take it.
Time for a HOT Max break! He reads Alan and Lucio to sleep with a story he seems to be more in to than they are! Connie notifies him his audience is asleep. She looks as pleasant as she has during this whole story. Can you blame her? Max looks like a muscular and delicious orange sickle! Lordy! Those muscled arms! Connie gushes over what a great Papa he’ll be. Max agrees because he has the greatest Papa in the world! Connie thinks the student will surpass the teacher.
Psycho Cesar and Amaya have a little row about her not sleeping with him. Amaya wins: she will sleep with Vale in the guest room and he can kiss her grits!
Whor is boozin’ and bawlin! He’s got to get off Cesar’s leash! He repeats “this is no good” over and over.
Back at Juli’s again, Mauro calls Max and tells him what happened with Juli. Max and Connie are moved. Connie maybe feels some guilt for earlier thinking that she would (deliberately?) not have their baby. Now she can’t imagine life without the little nugget.
Lu is freaking out to Cesar about having “seen” Florencia. He’s neither totally convinced nor unbelieving. He agrees to DO have to act fast before Florencia talks to Amaya or Mauro. Cesar is sure it hasn’t happened yet because he has Amaya followed 24/7. Lu says they have to get rid of Florencia and Max’s child NOW! Cesar smiles. Max’s baby can’t be born because, well, it’s Max’s and, being the first Montesino grandchild it will get a healthy quantity of shares. Lucrecia asks if they should do it now, or after it’s born. Cesar supposes after it’s born.
Yes, this is more effective. This is how I did it. Cesar says who? Amaya is outside the closed door and hears Lucrecia say that she killed the baby Mauro had with Florencia because she did not want Cesar displaced as the first born son of Mauro Montesinos. Oh, stoke the fires of hell RIGHT NOW!!
Poor Juli awakens and gets the devastating news that she has undergone a complete hysterectomy! She is frightened and frantic about what this could do to her new relationship with Jorge. She has a child but he does not and now they can’t have a child together. Juli asks Mauro not to tell anyone about this as yet. He promises he won’t but then remembers apologetically that he told (big mouth) Max. He will call Max and tell him mum’s the word. Well, Connie’s got it now, how long before Nora has it, and Sal, then Flavia. . . .Both comfort her and Elo gives her sweet and sage advice: She counsels Juli not to assume Jorge will reject her and don’t reject him!
Cesar has started haranguing Amaya again about her rightful place being beside him in HIS bed. They argue back and forth and Max and Connie are walking near them just in time to hear him say that she needs to put forth an effort to fulfill her wifely duties just as he puts forth an effort to remain married to her knowing that she continues to be in love with Maximiliano! Awky. Max and Connie walk on past as if they didn’t hear this little tidbit. Amaya wonders if Max heard. Cesar gets in her face with Max doesn’t give a damn about us and what we talk about. I’ll skip the part where Cesar tells her she excites him and he has all kinds of sick fantasies about her. Bottom line: for appearance sake she’ll come back to the room but before she’ll sleep in his bed she’ll sleep on the settee or the floor! So there!
The couple that didn’t hear what Cesar and Amaya were talking about talk about what Cesar and Amaya were talking about. Connie thinks it’s just another one of Amaya’s cynical moves to fan the flames of the rivalry between the brothers. Max finds that hard to believe: Amaya wouldn’t be that calculating. Connie is like Puleeeze! Cesar wouldn’t stay with her and be showering her with luxuries and flowers if she were like that. Connie suggests they just throw that little interchange out of their minds!
Hector has arrived back at El P. Flavia and Jorge are at the dining table talking about Juli’s procedure. Hector tells them the shocking news of not finding Ivan, but finding the no good wife that abandoned him and Ivan fifteen years ago. Turns out his “wife” is the aunt of the owner of the finca. More importantly, nobody seems to know where Ivan and Mariana are and Hector suspects that Uli may have done something to them! YES!!
More good news: Effer discovers that the plague is more extensive than they thought. Uli thinks fast and finds a sucker. .er buyer to buy the finca and he Mari are gonna get the hell outta dodge. He blows off Effer’s concerns about what will happen to the workers when he sells. Hmmm. Effer didn’t seem to be concerned about his colleagues when Uli had him deliver the message that they were all canned a couple of weeks ago! **** sniffing dog! Uli’s demeanor with Mariana is so sickening, we will all be glad when this ends. Although she smiles faintly when he says they will soon be leaving she is constantly thinking and knows she’s got to get away before that happens! Although she was dismissed as if she were a child, she has heard everything about Uli’s whole crop going to crap. One note on the infected plants. The plague seems to be curiously confined to the central part of the finca and less severe as one goes out. Effer thinks this suggests the infection started from within. Uli is about to unload the joint, so he just waves Effer off.
Lu finds out nobody slept in the house last night. Lu tells a maid to keep her mouth shut about what happens in this house and to tell the rest of the servidumbre the same thing or their collective ass is grass. She slams her door.
Ivan and Ceci meet with the Dr. on the results of his studies. He suffered some cerebral inflammation which caused the amnesia and he should get his memories back completely as the inflammation subsides and things stabilize. To Ceci’s question the Dr. answers that due to Ivan’s youth and overall good health, the return of his memory could be very soon. In the meantime the Doc writes him a script for some nerve pills to help him handle the anxiety. Uh oh! Cecil looks interested.
Finally, Lu enters the living room where Max and Connie are sitting and discovered that they did not spend the night in the MM either. Max explains that Juli had a complication and they spent the night at her house. Lu has the nerve to say that Juli is capable of anything and always finds a way to split the family up. Lord. This woman is SICK! Max patiently explains that Juli had emergency surgery and he and Connie stayed with the kids. Lu asks if they operated on her and then points to her head. Max is horrified and gives her a WT Holy F look. Connie answers that Juliana arrived at the hospital intoxicated or poisoned by food or something.
Freeze frame on Lu’s face with a seed of panic (hopefully) planted.
Wow! We can add a baby to Lu's murder list. The woman has no soul. I really wish Amaya was walking around with a tape recorder.
"Honest" Connie was bending the truth again. She knows very well she's overheard Amaya and Cesar speak about their marriage of convenience and not for love because Amaya still loves Max. She knows damn well Amaya wasn't putting on a show for Max. I hate bow she's always going on about how honest she is, but never loses the opportunity to bend or obscure the truth when it comes to holding on to Max.
You always make good points, Vivi. Here's one: The woman has no soul. I really wish Amaya was walking around with a tape recorder.
You are SO right! After she taped that little conversation in the restaurant way back, she hasn't captured a single conversation! With pretty much all phones having a record function, this would be so easy but I guess it would speed the story along too much! Frustrating!
Here's another: She knows very well she's overheard Amaya and Cesar speak about their marriage of convenience and not for love because Amaya still loves Max. She knows damn well Amaya wasn't putting on a show for Max.
Yes! Thanks for bringing that out! I hope Max remembers this. It was good that he could not believe Amaya was that calculating. Sheesh!
Do you think she will try to warn Connie and Max? What a horrible, horrible thing! Did you see that sick, excited smile Lu got when she confessed to Cesar that she had killed an innocent BABY for crying out loud!!! Oh, it was horrifying, absolutely horrifying. This actress is bringing the evil and the creepy!
Do you mind updating the body count, Vivi? You know what? Me, and I think Kelly, suspect her in the deaths of Juli's parents. Speaking for myself, I don't have any evidence and I can't make the time line work and haven't taken the time to go back and review those episodes. It may be unlikely since Lu seemed to be really in love with Omar and had her sights set on him and only sought to snag Mauro after Omar rejected her and her evil spawn to be outright. My only "evidence" is that Luciferia is a psychopathic liar and serial killer.
Great episode!
And thank you Vivi, for the well wishes. I'm gonna take a nap when I get home from work so I'll be up for the Sombra recap tonight!
See ya later in comments!
Lila--thanks for the episodic review of all the goings on in that part of Mexico. Glad it isn't here.
You had me laughing at Connie and Max talking about what they hadn't heard Cesar and Amaya talking about.
BTW--Max never heard Amaya and Cesar discutiendo earlier. It was only Connie who overheard that conversation. This happened before Max made Connie think they are back together. She only told Nora, who chided her for not telling Max--and was she not telling Max for her own devious plans (she didn't say devious, I did).
Luce chalks up another death--of a baby. Yes, she was gloating about it. She deserves the hottest seat in hell. Maybe I didn't hear it correctly because it didn't make sense, but I thought Luce said it would be easier to get rid of Connie's baby before it was born; it would be more difficult to wait until after it was born. In any case, that's when she began to tell Cesar about Florencia's baby.
Remember he died only a few days after being born, so it would seem to me it would have been easier to poison his milk (although I'd be pretty certain he'd have been breast-fed). We'll have to wait and see how she bungles this one.
Hey, folks, now we know why Negro asked for a few days off to take care of personal business and bought a ONE-WAY ticket to Monterrey. No one will be looking for him until he doesn't show up at work, then they'll figure he left Nescafe without due notice and just write him off the payroll.
Nope, don't feel sorry for Whoracio one bit. Even he recognizes what an ass he was. Did he really think he was going to beat the tar out of Negro without the guy putting up a fight? Then what? Negro says he's sorry about colluding over the fraud and giving him his money back? Whor--you are a dunce. Get thee a pointy hat and sit in a corner until Cesar calls.
Lila--I don't think Mauro knew Lucrecia when Florencia's parents were alive. But--with this story, one never knows.
Speaking of recaps. Is it possible to change the schedule for your recaps next week and the week after?
I hate to have you do double duty three weeks in a row. I can't do it on Thu April 2, but I CAN recap next Thu, Mar 26. Would you switch with me?
One more thing. Effer is suspicious of how the plague started. Ordinarily it would START on the outside and work it's way in. This one started on the inside and the outer plants are still healthy. But as long as Uli doesn't care and found a sucker to buy the finca, Effer won't need to investigate further.
Lila--You brought out a good point about Effer not caring what happened to the dismissed staff at El D. When Uli told him to get rid of them, Effer did speak up on their behalf for one hot minute, but went ahead and did what Uli wanted him to do.
Cecy did seem a little too interested in those tranquilizer pills the doc prescribed. I'm surprised he didn't give Ivan a prescription for anti-inflammatories. That would have made more sense and less dangerous in the hands of someone like Cecy.
Anita and Vivi and all, do you think Amaya would ever ask Connie and Max to be careful even if she didn't hear them say they wanted to kill Max's baby? I guess she's got enough to worry about trying to keep Vale safe. Of course, she doesn't know hubby has turned her ex into a craven coward/slave who would sell their own daughter to save his own skin but hearing that Lu actually killed a baby should REALLY make her step up her plans to get Vale OUT of the country!
Lila
Can't wait for today's episode.
So what if she kills Juliana's mother in an effort to get to Mauro, takes her time getting to know him and eventually starting a relationship, meets Omar and falls in love and starts up something with him too, loses Mauro to Florencia in the meantime, goes back to him when she realizes Omar wants nothing to do with her. It's a stretch, but could work. It's just hard to believe someone died NOT at the hand of Lucrecia.
Thanks Vivi, for reminding me about the convo that Constanza overheard. And reminding why I can't stand her. Hipocrita! Although maybe this little bit of badness will save her life in the end. If she were all good, it'd be hard to get Max and Amaya back together without losing Connie, since we never leave a good girl hurt like that. She's just bad enough to deserve a little suffering. Manuel sure didn't do too well in the offspring department, did he?
Kelly
ps. I wish recaptcha wouldn't make me "select all the hamburgers" right before lunch. My salad look way less appetizing now.
Agree, Kelly! I don't think any of us connected the death of Mauro's little baby with her! She's a devil, that one!
As easy as it apparently is for Cesar to get hold of poisonous stuff, wouldn't affecting the pregnancy be a better move than baby-killer? (Not that I want this to happen of course, not even Constanza deserves this). He doesn't know yet that he may have been caught. I don't think anyone's mentioned Juli having something tested.
Kelly
Now, as I said before, I will remain silent until El Fin, but I am compelled to interject another crazy idea at this point.
1. I am sticking to my conviction that Connie's baby is that of Sal as well.
2. If Lulu decides to get rid of Connie and the baby, I foresee a scenario where Connie dies and the baby lives. Max is sad for the loss of Connie. In order to save the baby, of course, a blood transfusion will be needed. Here's where we learn that Sal is the father. Max is less sad.
3. Sal is bitter. He is not into raising the baby.
4. Juli and Jorge get married and raise the baby. Barren problem solved. It's a little weird that
Juli is suddenly wanting another child. She could have had more with her husband -- as far as I know and chose not to have one. I can see tho that since Jorge is younger, she might consider this option. Jorge said early on to Caro that he was not really thinking about having kids. This new wrinkle, however, could give them a child.
Lila, I surely hope that you are feeling way better.
All the best ....
As far as Jorge and Juli raising the baby, I could see that, too. They are really focusing on this unforseen tragedy of the emergency hystorectomy and I remember Jorge saying he hadn't really thought about kids. They both are so loving, I could see that happening. Details have to be worked out like would Manuel allow it. If Connie and Max aren't married at the time of this hypothetical tragedy, who has power of attorney to decide the fate of the newborn. Interesting.
We shall see!
********
Sneaky, that was just me thinking she seemed interested in the script. I'm learning that things don't seem to be mentioned without a purpose. . .well, most of the time. Again, we shall see!
I'm impressed that you remembered that I thought Amaya might be saving Max's life. It seemed logical to me that they would need to reverse things. I didn't see today's episode yet. I didn't think of all those legal complications re the baby.
As I said before,
Hasta El Fin
I checked up a little bit about
Mercury poisoning. I read that it can affect a fetus in the womb;
don't know about causing cysts,
but it is possible that Lulu
caused Juli to become sterile - altho she may not have realized that side effect.
23. Lucrecia is responsible for the death of Mauro and Florencia's infant son.
24. Whoracio provoked the accidental death of Negro/Aaron when he got inside his house and jumped him in anger when Negro got home.
25. Cecy was the one that called Uli to tell him where he could find Mariana and was ready and willing to help him get her back. (I'd forgotten that the repercussions for this action were major. It isn't a crime, legally, but she certainly aided and abetted two major crimes--kidnapping Mariana and attempted murder of Ivan.)
Friday, cap. 127, part 1
Recap of Lu “finding out” that Juliana was poisoned or something.
EL Paraiso:
Flavia talks to Hector and Jorge about whether Ivan and Mariana extended their honeymoon. Hector thinks Ivan is too responsible and he wants to report him missing, but they don’t know where the kids went on their honeymoon to look for the further.
MM:
Lu tells Cesar about Juliana, and Cesar lets her know Juli almost caught him with the spray stuff. Lu laughs at him. In the end, they decide she isn’t enough of a problem to be worried about, but they are concerned about what the medical tests will find. They drink to their health.
Nescafe/Chiapas:
Amaya gets the message that someone tried to call her for Mariana. She wants to take the next call, no matter what. Then she gets a call from Jorge asking about the couple. Jorge is happy to know she’s heard from Mariana. He lets her know their concerns, and she’ll let him know when she heards from Mari again. Hector is relieved that all seems well.
Hospital:
Max has changed out of his Miami Vice look into a crisp white shirt and dark pants. This has nothing to do with nothing. Just something nice to picture. Cons is wearing a lacy coral shirt. I like this new look about as much as I like her. They greet Juli. Juli is upset about the news that she won’t be able to have kids, more because it is no longer a choice she gets to have control over.
Nescafe:
Cesar stops into his office and finally hides the spray stuff (too late). He tosses in the trash and orders his secretary to take it out. She tries to argue that they have people who will do this, but he insists that she do it, and that she take it outside of the office, thus creating a witness to his crazy. (He really should have done this himself). Whoracio shows up in his office, drunk and stinky. Cesar elts him know that it’s not so bad that he KILLED NEGRO (reminding him how much he owes Cesar). Then Cesar orders him to go to Chiapas.
Hospital:
Jorge calls to check on Juliana, but she doesn’t tell him everything. She just tried not to cry until after he hangs up. They later talk about Alan wanting to go to the same intercambio as Vale. Max wonders if Amaya put this into this head. Then he tells Juli what he overhead Cesar yelling at Amaya about: that she still loves him. Max wonders if she married Cesar to push Max out of her life because of the baby. (So close!) Juli doesn’t think that excuses anything she did, and Max agrees. Meanwhile, Constanza has gone down to the café, and sees Ivan with Ceci as they leave the café.
MM:
Mauro and Elo are outside walking and talking about Juli. Elo points out that she didn’t have kids, but was able to love his as her own. He holds her hands lets her know how much she meant to all of them, while Lu spies on them.
Hospital (same one, naturally):
Ceci, still mi-amoring Ivan, talks to him about being patient. He’s just happy that he’ll eventually remember. Ceci gets a call from Beca letting her know about Hector’s visit. If Beca is going to be forgiven, she’ll need to step it up, pronto.
Nescafe:
Amaya and Caro talk about their plans in the lunch room which may not be bugged but has no privacy whatsoever. She realizes now all that Lu is capable of, and realizing how open this place is, lowers her voice to tell Caro about hearing that Lu killed her baby brother! She’s going to talk to Mauro as soon as she’s able to get those photos of Lu in Chiapas. Maybe with those, he’ll believe her story. She’s sure he’ll help her once he knows the truth. Caro isn’t sure about that he’ll believe her about Cesar. Amaya is just glad that Max will be safe in Chiapas, Vale in the US, and she knew what she was getting into with these vipers.
BABY BROTHER ALERT!:
Doctor Guapo (whatever his name is) shows up at some clinic as its new director. I didn’t catch where the clinic is. Doc Guapo is Mexican, but he’s been in Guatemala with his mother (or “mother”?) who’s a nurse there. She didn’t want to come back, although his wife and kid will be joining him a few. (Which means Caro and future-single-Constanza are out of luck).
Elo/Juliana’s house:
Lu stops by to see Elo. She wants to talk about Mauro and how hell no will she, Elo, ever take Mauro from Lu. Elo defends herself and laughs at Lu talking to her about morality, after what she did with German! Lu says despite the divorce, Lu will always be the only woman of Mauro. Elo tells her that Mauro will be free soon and if he wants to get close to her, then fine with her! She kicks out Lu.
Divorce:
Mauro gets a visit from Lu’s lawyer. She wants 50% of his business and custody of Lucio. Leter at the house, Mauro tells her no way. She’s getting the house and some shares of the business but not half. It’s not enough for her. She declares she’s keeping the house and Lucio. She glares at him before walkin upstairs.
Pissant little shit:
Manuel welcomes Jorge and will give him his name, and all the privileges that come with it, but he’ll also have responsibilities. Jose demands a good position with high salary and lots of respect. Manuel tells him he’ll have to earn that respect. I missed the details in this conversation, but Jose hasn’t learned anything. He wants moany and power, and Manuel treis to make him see he’ll have to earn it. “What, I’m supposed to be a waiter, or secretary like my mother?”, he asks. (No, I say. You should have to work at McDonalds or retail, you entitled little brat).
Back at the Hospital:
Cons tells Max she thinks she saw Ivan! He doesn’t believe it was him since they are on their honeymoon. Must be someone else, but Cons says it was someone who looks just like him. Ceci meanwhile wants to take Ivan on a vacation to get his mind off all this. But nope! Ivan wants to get back to his usual routine. Ceci pushes it, and he tells her she can go, but he’s getting back to work. Thanks, but no thanks. Ha!
Chiapas, El Deseo this time:
Uli and the new buyer toast their deal. Mariana comes out and Uli says no problem, he’ll take care of her. Ugh. She grabs a pillow for her lap (protection-ish?) and sits down with them. Uli is actually buying her new complacent routine, idiot. When they get up, she “accidently” knocks over a drink onto the contract. She’s super apologetic, but no problem. Uli can go get another copy. She apologizes profusely until he leaves the room. Then she warns the new buyer about the plague, and tells him to check it out before signing anything. When uli comes back with the new paperwork, New buyer tells him he wants to walk the grounds first before signing. Mariana is cool with that! She goes back to her room, escorted by Uli.
Hospital:
Alan runs into Juliana’s room, brought by Amaya. It was the least she could do. She’ll go wait in the café. Max follows her out, and Cons looks annoyed. He catches up with Amaya and asks about what they heard Cesar say to her. Was it true, that she still loves him? She admits that it’s true! Whoa.
Kelly
Vivi - ITA that Alan's exposure to the mercury is probably going to be the most serious thing in Juli's perspective and she may even think sending Alan on the intercambio to keep him safe is a good idea
maybe:)
the baby brother alert made me so happy!
just the hope that one time Lucrecia didn't succeed
and ITA about Jose I ff> all his scenes so I appreciate your recaps and feel sad you have to watch them.
That and Mauro goading Lucrecia on the Stair Way to Doom--over my dead body will I let Lucio stay in the house alone with you. OK, I've already got my ideas for Monday's headliner!!!!!!!
SNTWSH--I listened very carefully to what Manuel told Jose--he was being logical and reasonable. Jose could care less. He wants to get started with his life on easy street. Like you, I don't care about Jose much, he's an estorbo, but I do have feelings for a very cowardly, conflicted Manuel, Bestie of Mauro.
Actually, what Mauro said to Lucrecia was, "You'll have to kill me first..." --and you can tell she's thinking about it again.
Loved the part where you said Ivan told Cecy Thanks, but no thanks to the vacay together, but she could go by herself if she wanted to.
Loved the part where Mariana spilled the wine. Uli couldn't blow up at her with a guest present. But at least he did leave to get another copy.
About the pillow thing. That wasn't the first time she used a pillow to cover her lap. Uli has bought her some very short short skirts. Mariana is making sure nothing shows to him.
Poor Hector. If they don't know exactly where Ivan is supposed to be, it's hard to put in a missing person. Now with Amaya thinking she's heard from Mariana, it will set things back another day or two. You're right Kelly, Becca had better step up to the plate soon. Although somehow, I don't think she's as interested in getting back together with Hector as she is getting her hands on Ivan.
Interesting, she left him to his fate as a 10-year-old, but now that he's grown up as a handsome, straight-arrow, decent guy, she'd like a relationship. She very neatly side-stepped those rebellious teen-age years, eh?
Like the rest of you, I was happy to see Guatemala doc, a sure sign that Lucrazy' s plot to kill Florencia's and Mauro's baby failed. What he said was that he was born right there in Chiapas, but his mother was a nurse originally from Guatemala who took him to her homeland when he was a baby, and she never wanted to come back to Mexico. Now his mother has died and he's decided to come to the place of his birth. Wanna bet Lu tried to kill the baby while he was in the hospital and that nurse saved him? The hospital he's come to work in is the one Mariana, Amaya, and Max were recently in. Bitch Blonde Nurse was one of the nurses lined up to meet new doc.
Yeah, Mauro just goaded Lu into murder with that statement about her getting Lucio. At least he's finally starting to see the person she really is as she lets the mask slip.
Exciting! I can see they're going to keep us on the edge of our seats right to the end!
I am delighted at this turn of events! I NEVER expected to see this! Cool!
I like the detail of Mariana and the pillows. It's not much of a Uli-block, but it's something. I just hope he's delusional enough to not have caught on to what she did.
Kelly
Vivi--I like your theory on how Baby survived. It's logical!!!
Did anyone catch his name, or was he just greeted as Doctor?
Marco Antonio Linares!
The scene with him appeared right after Mauro was wistfully looking at his sketchbook and a photo of himself and Florencia. He said that maybe she would appear one day, or maybe it was time for him to close the book on the past and begin living in the present. Next thing we know, here comes Dr. Linares, aka Dr. Hottie or Dr. Caliente!
You guys are good. Went right over my head!
WOW! Que sorpresa with Dr. Guapo!
I'm glad that his sister will now have someone else on her side and be able to reconnect with close family.
I too immediately had him slated for Caro until he declared his marital status....unless, of course, there is trouble in Denmark that he is not now revealing.
I did not hear him say that his mother had died. I heard him say that she never wanted to return to Mexico. I suppose we can infer that she died, but do we know for sure?
I'll need your help with this part.
Are we to believe that Florencia thwarted Lulu's attempt to eliminate her son and sent him to Guatemala to be with relatives?
We all saw the graveside scene at the infant's alleged tomb site where Don Mauro learned that his son, of whom he had no knowledge, was buried.
Now, I'm making another prediction that when Mauro learns of Lulu's travesties, he will suffer another heart attack. His son will save him.
Interesting that .............
Simultaneously as his son was making an appearance, Mauro was saying goodbye to all things Florencia -- and literally closed the page in that book as he vowed
to begin a new life. Just a week or so before, he had told Manuel that he would never give up searching for Florencia as long as there might be the slightest
chance of her survival.
I guess Elo has played a big part in that change of heart and mind.
All the best, Floridia
Floridia, I have feared for Mauro's life with all he's going to learn before the end, that would be a lovely touch!
:D
Oh the speculation grows for how to get these two together. Will Mauro really recognize himself at a younger age? What will be the motivating factors for them to recognize their paternal connection--BESIDES una llamada de la sangre (please spare us this one, good writers that you are on QA).
Much speculation, indeed!
Thanks for figuring this out for me.
Also - did anyone hear Dr. Guapo
say that his mother had died?
Many thanks ....
Dr. Treviño: Dr. Marco Antonio Linares, que gusto recibirlo. Bienvenido a esta, La Clinica dela que sera el Nuevo Director.

Dr. Treviño: Y ya habia estado usted aqui, en Mexico, antes?
Dr. Linares: No. Mi Mama nunca quiso volver a Mexico.

So. There it is. Have at it!
I didn't see anything about the death of Dr. Guapo's mother, did you?
The mystery continues ...........
Just realized that Florencia and I
begin our names with the same four letters....funny.
Okay, later, off the work!
You are absolutely right. Dr. G used past tense, but they were talking about his origins. Interesting to see if his wife and daughter show up.
