Hasta el Fin del Mundo #180 20150430 Thursday Night Discussion Page
If you would like to do the recap for last night in the comments...have at it. You will not offend me. I'm lazy and that means less work me!
Also if you are interested in recapping the next TN, contact Jane Peppler directly. I won't be moving on.

It was pretty unsettling to see Loopy killed. Renzi and Manjarres or what's it's name didn't bother me. I am trying to dream up some anvil for Peralta. The best I can come up with is some (his) body part being fed to him in a small hot dog bun. WOW I didn't expect things to go so dark here near the end.
The Alexa Armie fight looked like a run of the mill lovers quarrel. I would bet they get it worked out. I mean there was no hitting or violence between the two. I wager Armie comes to his senses and apologizes to Pao.
It is hard to wait for the evil ones to be unmasked. Sofia finally sees the tip of the Peralta iceberg. Silly girl, look what you almost did. She needs to call ole drunk no more Isadora.
I also enjoyed Peralta's veiled threat to Patricio recounting Lupe's death.
Will pissy-faced Aracely ever stop calling? Isn't she supposed to be long gone living in Monterrey by now?
Armando goes all around the block trying to soften the blow with Nandito about Lupe going to heaven to live with God etc. and Nandito asking straight out if she died. Unintentionally funny.
Should be a good one tonight.

There was a snippet that looked to be a preview of Pato being handed a gun. Or maybe a replay of when Peralta asked Pato to kill Silv.
- Peralta and his mini-army invade Ripoll, and Peralta says he’s there to protect his interests. Sofia says he can’t do that, and Peralta lets her know it was in the contract—the one she didn’t read. Sofia now knows she was a big idiot to trust him blindly. The only way she can get rid of Peralta is by paying him back the whole loan. Sofia cries and whines about this a lot.
- Peralta takes TWO offices (Silvana’s and Alexa’s) and orders his people to tear down the wall between them, and take away the tacky décor. His dragon lady associate who gave Armando the eye, chats with him in the hallway. He asks if he knows her from somewhere. She denies it, but when he walks away says to herself, “It’s him.”
-Ollie must have been in the bathroom during the hostile takeover, because he believes his dad’s lie that he’s just installing himself there to win back Sofia.
- Chava has been offered another commercial and offers Sofia his entire earnings from it, as a down payment for paying back Peralta. This is so dumb because 1) there is no way he’ll get paid THAT much for a commercial; 2) Sofia could probably get more by selling a piece of her jewelry; and 3) No way in hell is Peralta going to accept a small portion of payment on the loan. Sofia has just as many prospects for getting an investor as she did a month ago—ZERO!
- Paco is going to present new chocolates/compete at some chocolate convention in Belgium and thinks that will get them new investors.
- Lupe explains to the transvestite assassins that no one on the neighborhood will have a problem with them—they are live and let live kind of people. After she has been so kind to them they reveal their real selves and the one with gloves strangles her with gloves on, on top of the dining table, as the other one watches with glee. Poor Lupe.
- Aracely calls Paco a millions times. From the airport to say goodbye. From Monterrey to say she’s arrived and she and Pedro are getting married. Paco gets verklempt and can’t wait to walk his daughter down the aisle. (He doesn’t even mention Sofia.)
-Chava gets home and finds dead Lupe and the house trashed. He weeps for WAY too long cradling his lifeless mama. Thank goodness the director chose to make much of this SILENT, so that we didn’t have to bear hearing DZ’s horrible acting, as well as seeing it.
- Chava calls Sofia from the coroner/police and tells her. She tells Dani, Greta and Fausto. News travels fast to everyone at Ripoll, except Paco, Marisol who was busy snogging Pato in his office and asking him to finally come have dinner with her mom and brother, and Armando, who is home with Nandito.
- Marisol and Pato find a sorrowful crowd and the cops in front of Lupe’s house, and Cuco breaks the news. Marisol faints. (Pregnancy sign?)
- Chava cries. Sofia cries. They cry together and hug. Paco cries. Sofia hugs him. Detective Taveres remains stoic and says he’ll catch the bastards.
- Pato hears the news from the secretaries and is happy this means no family dinner for him. He does not join the rest of the staff in attending the wake. Instead he shares a drink with Peralta and realizes Peralta was behind the murder. He gulps down his drink and the color drains from his face.
-Everyone attends the wake/funeral.
Everyone is thinking that Marisol fainted because she finally got pregnant. Ok, I get that but wouldn't it be normal to faint upon learning that your mother had been murdered/died?
the gringo
Vivi, thanks for all the details. Yep, Chava and his offering of his itty-bitty check from the commercial – just pitiful.
Lupe’s murder was so sad. If it was still Lupe #1, it would’ve been even more horrible because she was so relentlessly upbeat and sweet to everyone. But Lupe #2 was so annoying taking in Araceli. Sadly, there’s no anvil strong enough to make Geronimo and his goons pay for what they’ve done. Death, dismemberment, or prison just won’t do it for me.
I didn't see Greta at the funeral. Too much to ask that she show condolences to Paco and Chava?
Finally, Sophia woke up and has some fight.
Any thoughts on how Peralta's female associate knows Armando and what's it got to do with the story this late in the game?
The Body Count will expand: You've heard it here first because Peralta isn't going to stop there.
Peralta is a MONSTER for doing this!
Anon: You called her murder kinky ?
Kirby: it's safe to say that Renzi's body was fed to the animals.
I've said it before & will again: The Revenge of Peralta is going to be very dark, sinister, evil, & so horrific, he might as well join the club of the late Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet or the late Haitian dictator Francois Duvallier for Most Repressive Dictator.
Once Sophia dumped him like that, I had a bad feeling Peralta wasn't going to take this very kindly.
Once again: RIP Lupe Cruz!
I want to know what kind of weirdo writers would kill off the mother in a TN this close to Mother's Day?
I did see part of the ending and Greta was in the church and I think she was sitting next to Paco.
Maybe Marisol is preggers, but she could also faint from the shock of her mother being murdered in her own home.
Can anyone explain this weird sequence to me? Marisol is in with Pato, then Chava cries about telling her the news, Paco tells him that Marisol knows (apparently from arriving with Pato - which I missed) but Pato has to hear the news that there was a murder by the secretaries??
Pato was only warned by Peralta to arrive late at work. He wasn't told in advance that Lupe would be murdered at home.
Lupe didn't harm anyone and died a horrible death because of Salvador and Sofia and so Paco can pursue his lady love without hurting Lupe's feelings.
I thought Salvador as the man of the house should have at least told his last living family member himself her mother was murdered. Boy wimped out and didn't soften the blow for his 18 year old sister. No warning no nothing. Punk has his head up Sofia's butt so far and with him giving every dime he's got and gonna get to the princess guess Marisol is on her own.
I loved the thinly veiled threat Peralta gave Pat.
I kept thinking Paco would again tell Araceli she's the offspring of a commoner and her place is with the unwashed masses but he didn't. Poot.
I too was ticked that Chava didn't call baby sister Marisol first, instead of Sophia. The writers are trying to hammer it over our heads that Sophia and Chava are sooooo much in love and connected that they (the writers) neglect common sense
I really can't believe they killed Lupe like that!? I was shocked and thought it would be one of those off camera things but hey, I guess they wanted the effect.
I couldn't agree more with Tofie and the others. The idiot called Sofia first and not his sister? What the **** is wrong with him? He's an absolute moron.
I also like the thinly viel threat Peralta gave Pato. I think he knows it's high time to get the hell out of dodge. First because Peralta will tie up ALL loose ends starting with him and second, when Chava finds out about Him and Marisol....O...M....G. It won't be pretty.
Based on his power, I can only see Peralta's anvil being death. He has to die, because legally he can't be touched. Yes, he will kill again but who? Maybe Paco will confront him about what he is doing and Peralto orders him taking out? Maybe the writers have Armando sacrificing himself for Alexa and being killed? But I don't see him successfully killing Pato because I believe Silvana would kill him first after she finds out what he has done to her and Marisol.
Sofia may have seen the light but it's a day late and a dollar short. The writers have tried so hard to make her this perfect, caring, compassionate character that they turned her into an idiot. I found it dumb that one minute they were in the living room in dire stratights because of what Peralta is doing and threatening but then the mention of her marriage to Chava pops up and none of them have a care in the world and they're all happy again. Dumb writing.
So there was Lupe1 and Lupe2. Honestly, I did not notice. There must have been a strong resemblance. I think in the eyes. Lupe has softer eyes or younger maybe. Was Lupe1 the actress in Alma de Hiero and Lupe2 in La Gata? why were they exchanged? Anyway, Im sad that the writers made Lupe collateral damage.
In contrast, from the beginning, I did not like the attitude of Marisol. Yes she is nice with her parents but her attitude towards other people was not at all nice. When she was working at the chocolate factory, she would be insolent with the known part owner of the company just because Daniela was going out then with her crush. What employee would behave like that in the real world. Brat!
I think the reason why they're putting so much violence now, is because they hear us getting sick of the two lovey dovey. But after all, even the tn title is regarding the undying love of these two. Anne
1.) Peralta is obviously tying up loose ends in his quest for revenge!
2.) I'll be shocked if Peralta has Paco killed, it would devastate Sophia & Araceli.
3.) The wedding of Sophia & Chava was nice!
4.) On the legal aspect, Peralta is Teflon because he likely has the Mexican judiciary in his back pocket.
5.) Oliver: You just don't know who your father really is.
6.) I'm not going to be surprised if we see Dani pregnant first. She & Lucas have been going at it lately.
7.) Rosa & Cuco looking more likely they're going to be a couple if they aren't already.
8.) Irma looked like she was smirking at Lupe's funeral.
9.) Pedro & Araceli already married ? That was quick! At least she can continue her career in law enforcement.
10.) Anyone know who is Peralta's female assistant in the hostile takeover of Ripoli ?
11.) Anon: the writers are going in a dark turn & likely staying there. It's going to get worse!
12.) If Armando gets killed off, Nandito will be very devastated.
She admitted that she had been completely wrong about him. She acknowledged that he was a great guy and had stuck by Sofia and her family through thick and thin. She gave Chava credit for making Sofia the happiest a woman could be, and asked for his forgiveness, "Son".
Wasn't a dry eye in the house.
Wow. Then Paco and Grrreta would be Sofia's biological Mom and Pop.
Everyone was scratching their heads as to Peralta's equally hasty departure. At least Sofia and Chava have something to talk about on their honeymoon. Does it dawn on Chava that his wife has been engaged 3 times in less than a year? (including him)
I would be stunned with a Dani pregnancy. I don't know how that would benefit the show, besides I think that would push Greta over the edge big time.
I actually like the wedding as well, it was well done. I watched it on-demand because i had to work friday night and they didn't show any previews but my wife said monday should be a great episode based on the previews that were shown Friday.
Time for Pato to get out of dodge. He's done enough damage to Marisol, he's taken her virginity and she's fallen madly in love with him, what more can he do? As far as main characteres being killed or dying, I can only imagin Pato or Armando being killed and not upsetting the whole dynamic of the show.
