Que Te Perdone Dios #74: Color Me Loser
[Man, am I ready to wash my hands of all these crybabies and whiners or what? --ed.]
Part 1:
• Unfortunately, Mateo and Abi’s big event is halted before it starts as Renata has forgotten her cane and returned to her room with Dr. Patricio to get it. Dr. Pats unwittingly turns on the lights. Embarrassed at the “in progress” scene he’s just witnessed, he shades his eyes as Abi covers herself with a blanket and Mat silently slips back into his clothes and sneaks away.
• Meanwhile, Max shows up at Lucio’s door. He’s renounced the Zarazua name and riches, he sobs. His father’s love is all that he wants. Lucio tries reasoning with him, explaining again that he’s nothing but a low-life, paid assassin who cannot offer Max the expensive doctors and treatments needed to fight Max's leukemia successfully.
• In Renada’s manse, DeeDee sees Vicenta and Diego enjoying each other’s company while Vicenta gets ready to end her work-day. She bully’s Vi and tells her to go change the bedsheets in her room since Amanda forgot. When Vi’s gone she needles Diego about Mat having chased to Mexico City after Abi. “—Guess you aren’t a big enough man to grab her away from Mateo after all, huh?” No, says Diego. It’s the other way around: she’s nothing compared to the woman Abi is and she’d better learn to hang on to her husband instead. “—Don’t you get it, Diego? They are together, right now, at this very moment!”
• Renata and Dr. Pats enjoy the rest of their evening together dancing in the lounge, whispering sweet nothings about his never wanting to let her go and her being able to forget everything and everyone else in his arms, and then sealing these fabulous feelings by locking lips.
• Upstairs in his room, Mat is remembering his brief time with Abi and sorely suffering from what would otherwise have been er…coitus interruptus. He swears he’s going to have Abigail come Hell or high-water!
• Diego, having been stung by TSO’s nasty commentary, races over to the chapel and prays to Dios that Abigail stays pure by not yielding to temptation. At the same time, Abi, feeling guilty as all get out, remembers Diego’s pleading, beta-male proposal to take him back and marry him since he’d be better than the sinful alternative.
• Mateo returns to Abi and Ren’s room hoping to pick up where he and she’d left off and meets with resistance. She’s a compromised woman who cannot go back on her word and betray those to whom she’s made promises. He thinks at first that it’s his aunt she’d be disappointing. “—You aren’t regretting it, are you?” She drags out the wedding dress they bought earlier in the day. “--See? This is the reason why we came to Mexico City!” She holds up her left hand and shows him the engagement ring. “—I am marrying Diego in one month.” Mat storms out of the room and she crumples onto the floor in tears.
• The next morning while their bags are being brought down to the car, Abi and Ren have a chat about their men. Abi admits it is bad for her to be so near Mateo and Ren admits she’s falling in love with Patricio and that he kissed her. Abi tells her she’s all for that since her marriage has been such a farce from beginning to end. Heck, the guy even caused her blindness. Ren says she’ll be honest with Feisty up to a point. She’ll keep the kiss a secret. Abi mentions that she’s still puzzling out who her real father might be. Ren swallows and keeps quiet.

Part 1:
• While Mateo eagerly initiates his mulligan mating with true love Abigail (having just confessed that he’s as virginal as she because he’s never truly made love to any woman before her), The Spurned One, aka Diana, continues her harangue to Fausto insisting that Mat and Abi are long-time lovers and a waste of his pussy-whipped time and efforts.
Them’s fightin’ words of course and Feisty warns Di not to get in his way. Anybody who does gets trampled on. Best for her to take her man and skedaddle on out of that hacienda pronto! (What needs to skedaddle is that exaggerated A/M love-theme extreme!)

Simona and Daniela
are getting chummy. Xi-ela tells her she’d
like to meet Renata because she and Ren have a friend in common, and when she bumped into her on the plaza the
first time, she had no idea the woman was blind. Sim mentions then that Ren’s life has been
Hell but doesn’t get a chance to give details cuz her drunken son is staggering
around the plaza himself. He gives her
mouth and slouches away.

Across the way, Di
pays a visit to her cousin, Julio to get his advice about the money this
pregnancy is going to bring her and to gritch about Fausto’s would-be love interest.
·
Back at Ren’s
rancho, Diego shows up with flowers and has a quick chat with Crazy
Connie. Connie remembers how he rescued
her from Macaria’s place and won’t ever forget that. She remains mysterious about Diego’s roots,
but insists that Abigail isn’t the girl for him.
· Juli advises Di that
if she wants Feisty to stay at arm’s length from Abi she needs to ally herself
with Mac. Di says she’d have to hold her
nose to do it but she will. He also
tells her to keep her personal feelings out of it, grab what’s rightly hers,
and then to never look back.
· Abi and Ren show
up back at the rancho. Abi asks Diego to come chat with her
and they head for the chapel. He tells
her how he prayed for her last night there in the chapel. She says she can only offer him her honesty,
tho’ she’s certain that after he hears her out he’ll more than likely never
want to see her again, and he’ll hate her.
He tells her he’d never be able to hate her. Abi then admits she ran into Mat while in the
D.F. Yeah, he’d heard they were staying
in the same hotel, he admits. He takes a
deep breath and waits for the worst. “--What
happened between you?” She tells him how
Mat asked her to be his mistress and that she’d accepted.
Deigo’s droop-jawed,
simpy-eyed impactado. He cannot hold his
tears and asks why. She couldn’t help
herself. It was too much for her. He continues to snivel and manages to ask if
she actually slept with him. Fortunately
for him she did not. (Which begs the
question if she had?) She swears in
front of Dios that no, even though she was ready and willing but that when her
madrina came back in looking for her cane she was able to avoid The Fall. Diego angrily asks if he asks her again would
she do it and she says yes because around Mateo she’s unable to control her
feelings towards him.
Diego is terribly
hurt and says he knows Abi’s loved Mat all her life. What hurts him more is the way Mat tried to
take advantage of the situation last night; that it’s not enough to have his
fortune, his career and his beautiful wife and kids, but he has to have her as
his mistress as well! He knew she couldn’t
deny him and so he took advantage of her weakness!

Inside the manse,
Feisty comes into the living room to greet Ren with the biggest fake grin
EVER. She tells him what a nice time she
had and that partly it was because Mat and Dr. Pats were there at a medical conference,
that she went out to eat with the good doctor and yes, it was an “unchaperoned”
din-din. Ruh-roh-h-h!
· At the morning break in the lectures, Pats
and Mat are having coffee. Mat wants to
make chit-chat but Dr. Pats wants to talk about what he walked in on the night
before. Mat insists he and Abi are adults
and can do what they choose to. Dr. Pats
isn’t totally innocent either as they’re both in a situation where one of the
would-be lovers is married and unhappy in that marriage. Dr. Pats says yes, but the difference is that
he hasn’t taken advantage of the situation nor done more than simply kissed
Renata. On the other hand, Mat was about
to make Abi his mistress!
· Back in the chapel,
Abi tearfully tells Diego that she knows she deceived him. Diego, just as tearfully--naw, his waterworks are
really much more heavy duty-- says no, the way he sees it, she really in the
end did not and that’s all that counts for him.
Yes, he still wants to marry her.
Now sniveling to beat the band, Diego reminds her when he proposed to
her that he said it didn’t matter how crazy in love she was with Mateo provided
she gave Diego the chance to make her forget all about Mat and to fall in love
with him. Abi has to decide whether she
wants to be the other woman all her life, like her mother, or not. He offers her a life that’s honest and clean,
a means to hold her head up high and to be proud rather than to bend her head
in shame for being a married man’s lover.
Of course he forgives her: “love is forgiveness in all things.”
So, will she choose
him, become his wife and lover; or will she stay with Mat? (Well, when he puts it like that…..) Abi is terribly relieved, and grateful as
Hell, apparently. She cannot wait to say
yes one more time—and does.

Looks like Abi shut down Diego On Friday. She looked as sad about it as he did. Too bad, he is a much better match for Abigail than is Mateo.

Loved Part 1, Jardinera. I was so happy that Mat and Abi didn't do the deed. And shocked that he actually came back and tried to start back where they stopped. He's truly shameless! I also laughed out loud at his line about never making love before and therefor being a virgin like Abi. Oh, please!!

I think I cried with FV (Diego) during the chapel scene. FV's acting skills are so delightful; while I respect his decision not to play major rules, just supporting rolls, I think he is one hell of an actor.
I think they cast Mark Tacher almost immediately and Diana and others had to audition to gain their parts. I just don't understand the casting directors. Fernando Colunga and Aracely Arámbula were much better matched

Thanks for the recap, so happy Mateo and Abi didn't sleep together, its funny hoe Mateo even had the nerve to come back for a second time, its a good thing that Abi told Diego the truth, it is truly sad his love for her will never be reciprocated completely.

Thanks Jardinera as I suspected, it was worth the wait. Abi seems to be the greatest catch in town.
How many are chasing her? And I would bet that there are a lot that aren't in the chase but would like to be. FV/Diego is a great actor---I felt his pain.
Where will all of this lead tonight? I'll be waiting and watching.

ITA that FV/Diego is a great actor. His range is phenomenal. I would love to see him as the galán eventually. He was terrific in LQLVMR.

i forgot to mention Dr Pat covered his eyes when he accidentally busted Mateo and Abi. I kinda thought it would be funny if he was peeking through his fingers, of course he would never do that. But he was so embarrassed.. I like the things he told Mateo the next morning when Mateo tried to justify himself. .gosh Renata has had Diana and Fausto nekkid in bed under her nose and now Mat snd Abi. What or who next, I wonder.
