Parte 1~~
Finally,
Macaria has managed to get one (well, actually at least four) over on Fausto with
all her anonymous notes floating around town, and Viewerville shares a communal
sigh of relief. Mateo reads her
anonymous note stating that the baker in Diana’s double your fun bun factory
was really Fausto. Mat races out the
door in a mad dash as Mac snickers at the fireworks she’s set in motion.
Meanwhile,
at Pablo’s grave site, Abigail clarifies to Renata that she believes Renata
would never have left her side nor allowed Macaria or anyone else to treat her so
roughly while she was growing up if she’d truly been Renata and Pablo’s
daughter.
In the
Mayor’s office, Fausto’s allowed himself to be interrogated by Comandante
Barragan. He insists that Barragan’s got
no reason to believe the babblings of the dying, let alone those of Padre
Francisco, and then to jump to the conclusion that he had anything to do with
the old priest’s death. Fausto starts
oozing virtue from every pore and states he’d never betray his nephew who’s
like a son to him. He and DeeDee were
together but he doesn’t know if Mateo was aware of that. However, Dee broke it off when she decided to
marry Mateo and he’s never touched her or approached her that way since! With all his fingers and toes crossed under his
desk, Feisty insists that he’s respected his nephew’s marriage. The
Comandante suggests that the Padre may have known about him and DeeDee and was
about to denounce him. “In that case,
his death would have been convenient for you, wouldn’t it?”
Fausto
decides to clam up and says he’s not saying another word without his lawyer
present. He doesn’t appreciate being
interrogated like a murder suspect. Barragan
suggests that if they cannot speak amicably while he’s trying to clarify the
facts surrounding the priest’s death, then go ahead and get that lawyer and he’ll
draw up the paperwork for a warrant so that the next time they speak Fausto
will be questioned as a murder suspect!
Diego
is desperate for somebody with pull in the town to help him reverse the
decision to take Domingo away to an orphanage.
He asks Simona if she knows what could be done. Things like this were initiated in the Mayor’s
office when she held the job, she admits. So, it’s
in Fausto’s hands as the Mayor to try pulling some strings for him, she tells Diego. (That’s a bit more crow than Diego could swallow
right now, however.) Anyway, the boy’s
probably in the orphanage in Ciudad de Valle.
At
the same, Domingo’s pining away for his family and refuses to play. Nasty social worker lord’s it over him and
forces him to go play and tells him to forget “that man.” And to stop calling him his daddy cuz he wasn’t! (Somebody find the Wizard and tell him this
woman needs a heart!)
Across
the way at the hospital, Patricio tries to convince Lucio that Max can be
treated at some very fine public clinics.
He doesn’t have to spend and arm and a leg to get his son treated. Lucio is adamant that the kid left his
adopted family and all the luxuries of life to be with him, so (he doesn’t care
how many hits for Fausto he’s gotta make to pay for it) his kid’s gonna have
the best!
After
the comandante leaves, Feisty’s tries to figure out what’s got Barragan looking
into the old priest’s death again. Just
then Julian-lio arrives with a suitcase full of pesos. He smiles broadly and reminds Juli that he
wants 50% of the daily takings without fail and it better not be late in
coming. “—You wouldn’t want the interest
to start piling up on you, now would you?”
Juli bites his tongue and cordially agrees that certainly would be undesirable.
Back
at the bar a bit later, his prison partner tells Juli he’s not going to take
this lying down. Juli begins thinking of ways to get Feisty out of the picture
permanently.
Renata, back at the hacienda, informs Crazy
Connie of the convo with Abi at the cemetery.
She’s more frightened than ever of Abi learning the truth about their
relationship.
Upstairs
in her bedroom Di’s binging on chocolates and giving Mac grief. She is certain that it was Mac who put that
fan on her to get her even sicker than she was.
She grabs Mac’s hair and pulls hard.
“—One of you is going to pay for that incident with the fan! Do you hear me?” Mac pulls her off her and says hey, no reason
to fear a dog that’s all bark and no bite.
“--The animals you really have to fear are the silent ones, like the scorpions that sting you. You never know they’re there until they are and
they attack.”
Back
at the hospital, Mat has a heart to heart over the anonymous note he got. Pats tries talking Mat out of suspecting ol’
Fausto. (Gawd, why??? If the S.O.B. had you beaten up, he’s
certainly capable of other dastardly deeds!)
Mat says at the time he overlooked the fact that Diana wanted to keep
their engagement a secret and that his uncle was totally against his marrying
her. it was when he seemed sexually interested
Di. Now the man’s looking at Abigail,
the love of his life, the same way!! He
wants a prenatal paternity test done on his wife! (Cheering erupts throughout Viewerville. Finally the doc is thinking with his upper
brain!) Mat's tired of all the lies
encircling him. Pats tells him that that would be too risky for the
fetuses. It’s best to wait till after
they’re born. Mat says fine.
Feisty
pays a visit to Marcelino’s pigsty of a bachelor pad and starts framing Lucio
for all the murders the past five years as all Lucio’s crazy doing. He doesn’t want his association with this guy
to make people believe he had anything to do with Lucio’s crazy killings.
Lucio,
meanwhile, brings Max back home and gets into an argument with him over his
dating a peon like Teodora when he should still be aiming high for the
beautiful Abigail. Max tells him to bug
off. But, later on when he arrives at
Teo’s, he sees she’s totally changed her attitude towards him. She chokes out that she doesn’t want to get
involved with a guy who’s dying of cancer and so never to darken her door
again! Once Max is out the door, Lucio
comes out from the other room. He threatens
her that if she ever lets it out that he forced her to break if off with Max,
then he’ll be back to rape her again and this time he’ll kill her afterwards!

Parte 2~~
Ren and Padre Tomas plead with Fausto to do
something for Diego. Feisty says he’s
really pained over the whole situation but there’s really nothing that he can
do. Padre insists a bit of humanity and
willingness to act is all that is needed. The Effer puffs his chest out pedantically. “—The law’s the law and nobody’s above the
law!” Padre Tomas is quick to add that
he hopes that goes for Fausto as well. Fidgety Feisty gets Ren off his back by saying fine. He’ll try but promises nothing. Then he wants a private chat with Tomas. Ren leaves.
Fausto
mentions Barragan’s visit and swears he had nothing to do with his uncle’s
death. Tomas asks if he’s willing to
swear to that in front of the altar again the same way he swore he had nothing
to do with Pablo Ramos’ death. Feisty
has to think long and hard over that one.
“It’s a ridiculous accusation—and an anonymous one at that—claiming Francisco’s
death was really a murder.” Just then Di breaks in on the conversation and
demands attention. Tomas exits.
Di
tells Feisty about her own anonymous letter.
He reads the letter. Mat walks in
on them just at that point and Di crumples the paper in her hand to hide it
from him. She begs off from the chat he
wants to have with the two of them and leaves.
Mat hands Feisty the letter he got.
He tears it up. “—Just what kind
of man do you think I am?” Mat bites his
tongue for a moment more.
DeeDee
starts wringing her hands upstairs in her bedroom. Mac and she have it out again and Dee accuses
Mac of writing the anonymous letter. “—You
shouldn’t be listening behind doors, not a well-bred woman like yourself!” DeeDee
tells her to go to Hell. Mac smiles and
nods. "--Yes, ma’am! Right after you!”
Down
in Fausto’s office again, Mat says he thinks now that Fausto never really had
an affair with Mia Montero. It was a
cover to hide the fact that he really was having an affair with Diana!
Diego
discusses his angst over Domingo with Ren and Abi upstairs. Abi leaves and Ren swears that Fausto’s
promised to investigate and do something about it. Diego says he doesn’t trust Fausto for a
minute, especially since Simona told him how the paperwork is always initiated
in the mayor’s office. “--He’s behind
this entire thing and you know why? Because
of my entering this family, and because of you sharing your inheritance with me!” Ren promises to make her husband pay dearly if
that’s true. Diego says he’s not waiting
around for that to happen. He’s got his
own plans for the effer.
Feisty
tells Mat he tried to warn him that Diana wasn’t for him and he wasn’t
wrong. Yeah, and he defended his uncle
and her against all the town gossip and believed in him! However, Mat says, he confronted Feisty and
asked him point-blank before all this if he was interested in Diana but he was
too much of a coward to own up to it. “-- Hey, who do you think you are! You wouldn’t be the man you are today if it
weren’t for me!” “--And don’t I know it!
Living like poor relations my entire life with your foot on my neck!”
Diego
enters the fray now, out of the blue, accusing Fausto of being behind the
authorities taking Domingo away from him.
Effer tells Diego to take a hike and learn some manners if he’s going to
try to be a part of this family. Mat
says Diego’s not going anywhere since he’s the only person who can clear up his
suspicions. Diego finally admits he lied
about who was in the Enramada that night he and Abi were there. When he learned Di was expecting Mat’s child
he could only think about not allowing that baby to grow up without a father
the same way the two of them had. “--So
it wasn’t Mia Montero with him?” Nope! She was there shamelessly screwing with him while
screwing you over.
Diego apologizes and leaves. Mac, who’s been listening outside the door herself to Mat and Feisty’s discussion, snickers at
Diego’s predicament.
Diego
grabs her and snarls. He tells her he knows
all about her and Ren and Abi, what she did and why she treated Abi the way she
did growing up--because she’s filth! Abi
walks in and yells at him to let her mother loose. He obeys and walks off without a word. Mac complains she has no idea why but he
wanted to hit her! He was arguing with
them in there. Mat’s in there yelling at
Fausto for being Diana Montero’s lover.
Abi can’t hardly believe her luck that Mat’s wise to his bitch of a wife. (Dare she hope for the happy result of that
awful reveal??? And could he now have a reason to get that
divorce???)
Back
inside with Mat and Feisty, Mat refuses a tequila and a father-son chat over
the situation. “--You are not my father!” No, replies Fausto, but ever since his
brother died, it might has well have been and he loves him like he could never
believe. Mat insists if he did love him
then he’d never have done what he did to him.
(Mat needs to add a few continuing ed classes in sicko psychology, me
thinks.) Listen to me and what I have to
say, pleads Fausto.
Fausto
tells him that when Mia Montero came back to this town she’d lost all her
riches and good looks. She’d practically
thrown her niece at him. Mat sniffs and
Fausto tells him he isn’t exactly pure when it comes to adultery himself so
shut it and listen! They went out and after
a bit became lovers. When he heard that
Mat and she were engaged in secret the last thing he wanted to do was to hurt
him. So he broke it off and to this day
he’s had nothing to do with her romantically.
Mat admits he overlooked the gossip in town. Lots of people tried warning him, even Padre
Francisco.
Fausto
fibs a bit saying that he told Padre Francisco in confession about the affair
and refused his advice to tell Mat. You
told me she was trash, adds Mat. Fausto replies
that that’s exactly what she is and always has been. Then, Fausto thought it was all over when he
left to study in Spain only to find out that they planned to marry anyway and
in secret! Mat pleads 1st
degree confusion. Well, Fausto says he
gave Diana an ultimatum that if she went ahead and married Mat he’d tell him
the truth about the two of them. He was
behind the door listening when she broke it off at the last minute—just to make
sure that she did. Then when he gets
back from Spain he learned that she caught up with Mat in Spain and married
him.
Di
is still pacing and wringing her hands, thinking things are taking way too long
downstairs. She’s certain that Feisty
will deny their relationship as he has all along while downstairs,
Fausto swears on his dead brother’s grave that he had nothing more to do with
her once they started dating seriously.
Mat says I wish I could believe that but I plan to get those kids a
blood test. (Mat, it’s about time you
invest in a decent medical text on personality disorders.) Feisty starts the crocodile tears
flowing. “--You’ll probably despise me, but
just remember that I love you more than some fight over women and I love you
much more than you’ll ever believe.” Mat
just stares at him. (A peso for your
thoughts, bro!)
