Week 33 - Recap Schedule
Capitulo 158 Mon May 4 – Anita
Capitulo 159 Tue May 5 – Sara
Capitulo 160 Wed May 6 – Corazon
Capitulo 161 Thu May 7 – Lila

We still don’t know how Univision will schedule the final week of Quiero Amarte. Please stay alert to any changes.

****

There’s been some interest in a post-fin discussion. I think it will be enough to leave the QA thread open over the weekend, as we usually do, and encourage participation. By Monday or Tuesday, the comments will probably peter out and we will have our own FIN.

It’s been a great novela, story and actors, and wonderful companions to have viewed it with and carried on many interesting conversations.

Thank you ALL,
Anita

Ha! I've already forgotten some of those names!

Great set up for this week, Anita. I am already sad that this is the last week on the QA patio.

Anita,

You are signing off your provocative musings on Mondays in typical Anita style. Sincere appreciation for all of your creative dedication to this
fun-filled adventure.

Super anxious to see how everything unfolds.

Abrazos,

Thank you, Anita! I am glad your witty and carefully crafted set ups and all our discussions, and fussing (me) and speculation and predictions will live on in cyberspace as long as server space exits! This IS a fun patio and I will miss our chats so let's go out with a bang and really work this finale week for all it's worth!!

Lila

NOTICE: Again, I will have to do the recap in real time, so it won't be up until late.

Don't you dare worry, Anita. None of us wants this to end and if the recaps are a little late, it just means more time to enjoy. Mine will be late tomorrow as well.

Amen, Anita and to all of us, no sweat allowed this week: only for the characters, not for the recaps!

:D Lila

I don't recognize over half those names that you were talking about us remembering or not. but I tell you who I will remember, aMaya and max,Elo,lucio, val, mauro, clingyconnie, and "oh lets not forget King Little Caesars" and the queen mummy lucoocoo! And some more names to many to mention. The action, the mystery, the intrigue. O well, another telenova will come on and I'll probably like it more than this one. We'll see. in the meantime I am going to enjoy the delicacy of this week.

O and by the way, I really enjoyed talking to you guys, giving my comments, my own opinions and reading yours too. this was fun on the patio. I hope we can do it again.

Thanks: Anita,kelly vivi,sara,lila,florida,Anon & anybody else I missed.

Nina

It's the final countdown! Can't believe it. :(

I pity the fool who tries to call me between 3 and 4!

;D

Anita: Luc is acting like she really needs her happy pills LOL!

I'm going to be happily watching her get the biggest anvil of them all!

Too bad we can't have Florencia as a ghost laughing at Luc!

Steve--We may still have Florencia as a "ghost" laughing at Luce!

Steve--This is also just for you: Purse Alert.
Luce's Big Shiny Fake Alligator Gucci Black Purse is wrapping up a minor but important role on Quiero Amarte. Straight from Central Casting, through Wardrobe for an extra polish, it continues in character, providing a false sense of security for Lucrecia, whose descent into a madness only she can experience delights us all.

Let the Anvils fall ;-{ and it will be painful!!!!

I LOVE IT Anita!

Looking forward to your recap on today's episode!

Thank you Anita for all your hard work.

Valgame Dios, como se botaron las refrigeradoras hoy.

While on the topic of purses, I love Amaya's snatched then retrieved Betsy Johnson one today.

continuing the topic of purses, well we have to talk about something while waiting on the recap so the purse that lu carries around, that big black tote someone asked about it last week? I think she carries her evil around in it. All that blood she spilled down through the years, for the sake of greed and ambition for her and King little Ceasar. that evil is coming out of that black tote and is attacking her. people do not think of the consequences when they do dumb things. What goes around comes around and it's usually worse. She's getting it in spades.

Nina

Shoot Nina--You got ahead of me. I was going to tell you what was in the purse in the recap.

It was Steve that brought up the purse last week. That's why I directed the comment to him!

Ok, writing is done. Convert to type. Post it. Can't take long, eh?

Aw nita, I didn't mean to be a spoil sport. But anybody looking at that woman know that she'd be carrying some evil around in that big black bag. And a nice bag it is. she probably spent about three or four hundred dollars of mauro's money on it. It'll probably be the only thing that you'll have left hold on to. Lets see what happens next. Let the recap begin.

Nina

Recap for Mon May 4 (Capitulo 158) Pt 1

Here is Everything That Happened Today—

At or near Vale’s school or the Montesinos compound - Amaya and her former neighbor are out on the sidewalk talking about what she saw the day Horacio died. They send their two daughters off to buy fruit from a vendor. PhotogGuy (PG) is near the fruit stand, waiting for Ulises to give the signal. Uli is sitting in a getaway car and Cecy is in the driver’s seat (literally; definitely not figuratively). They realize this is going to be easier than they thought, no adults are near the girls.

PhotogGuy grabs Vale from behind and chloroforms her, while her school friend looks on, then screams. Then, from out of nowhere, some punk runs past Amaya and grabs her purse. She turns to see what is happening to Vale and screams for help.

Iván and the detectives are in their car nearby observing. When Iván sees what is happening, he jumps out to foil the kidnapping. He wrestles PG to the ground. A detective comes over to take PG into custody. Vale is out cold.

Uli orders Cecy to get the heck out of there, but she freezes. It gives Iván enough time to reach the getaway car and block Cecy. Uli order her to move it. Cecy actually starts to run over Iván, but he jumps out of the way. Cecy panics and stops the car. Uli jumps out and takes off, Iván following. A different detective comes over to take Cecy into custody. Now both of them are handcuffed behind their backs and leaning over the car.

Vale is still out cold. Amaya asks the Montesinos family chauffeur, Abel [I swear I didn’t know Abel was ever going to make another appearance], to pick Vale up from the sidewalk and place her in the back seat of the car. The neighbor lady runs back to get the school doctor. Amaya leaves Vale in Abel’s care while she goes over to confront Cecy, who is getting hauled into the back of a police cruiser. “What is the matter with you,” Amaya wants to know. Cecy says she doesn’t know, but at least Mariana and Iván will never be together. Amaya then tells her, with great pleasure, this was all a trap by Iván to catch her and Ulises. She fell right into it. Cecy doesn’t believe her, she gets unnerved and rattled. Amaya tells her she’s crazy and walks off.

Meanwhile, at Juli’s house, Marco Antonio (MA) is taking a call outside in the garden, from Cesar. Cesar wants to meet him, one-on-one, just name the time and place. Juli doesn’t think it’s a good idea now that Cesar is desperate, he could be dangerous. MA is cool with the meet. He tries to calm Juli by telling her Cesar doesn’t know how much MA knows and they will be in a public place, a restaurant. He says he owes it to his parents.

The doctor checks Vale and says she will be ok, it’s a delayed reaction to the chloroform [I think he called it formaldehyde]. A detective approaches Amaya, holding out her purse and holding onto the thief. Apparently he was working with Ulises and taking her purse was supposed to be a distraction. Amaya thanks him, rummages in her purse and finds her phone. She calls Juli to tell her why she’s been delayed. Mariana, MA, Juli and Flavia all decide to head for the school to be with Amaya. Elo has to hold Lucio back.

Mon May 4 Pt 2

Meanwhile, Iván is still after Uli. It’s a wonderful chase scene—on foot, over fences and walls, across rooftops, into buildings, down staircases. Uli stops long enough to check his gun and climbs up over a spiked fence. Iván follows step-by-step and fortunately, Uli hasn’t seen him, yet. [Ivan has sensible boots on, while Uli has some pointy-toed popular shoe which ought to make climbing difficult, but he’s not slipping, tripping or sliding—Dang.]

Uli finally is aware Iván is behind him. He shoots, he misses, he shoots again, all while running, jumping, ducking, now across a footbridge, down a support column and down an alley. The gold unmarked police car blocks his escape. He fires point blank at the driver, looks up, sees Iván, shoots again. Uli tries to hide behind a low stone wall, but Iván is on him like Flash. He kicks the gun out of his hand and they wrestle. Uli gets the gun back and shoots at Iván. The gold unmarked police car arrives. One of the detectives aims and shoots at Uli. He gets him in the leg—or at least he runs away limping a bit. [That shot was a little too low for Patio Watchers. We’re on the edge of our metal folding chairs under the umbrellas sipping Mai Tai’s wondering if this is it, will he be caught.]

Still on foot, Uli runs into an intersection blocked by an automobile accident scene and the people involved. He flips over the hood of a stopped car, right into the path of an oncoming, Heavy Duty truck. It runs over his legs. He screams. Iván watches, then approaches him. The truck driver has gotten out. Iván calms him and explains the victim was fleeing from the police. He tells the detective that arrives Uli is still alive. The police take over while Iván heads back to check on Vale and Amaya. They take Uli away in an ambulance.

Juli and the gang arrive. MA checks Vale and confirms school doc’s evaluation. Am is relieved and MA gives her a brotherly hug. Mariana, on the other hand, is distraught when she learns Iván is following Uli. Juli reassures her the police are right behind. So do Amaya and Flavia.

Mari and Iván are reunited at last. They embrace warmly and heartily. He fills them in on Uli’s dénouement—he’ll never be the man he was. While Mari hangs on to him tightly, he wants to know what happened to Cecy. When he learns they took her into custody, he wants to call his dad right away before they must go to the police station to give their statements.

Hector answers the phone and is elated by the news. Chelo is there with him to share his joy. They exchange a very warm hug and pecks on the cheek. They back off and look at each other, not knowing what else to do or to say, just as Becca walks in and asks what’s going on. She learns that both Uli and Cecy will no longer be a threat to Iván and Mariana.

Vale comes to in the back seat of the car. She and Amaya discuss what happened. Vale figures out that is why Amaya sent her to the States—to protect her. Amaya concurs. It was *never* because Vale was a bother to her. Vale sees she is surrounded by people she knows and loves, with one exception. Who is that man, she wants to know. He steps forward and introduces himself as her uncle Marco Antonio. Amaya explains he’s her brother she just learned existed.

Mon May 4 Pt 3

At the Hospital for Nervous Wrecks - A nurse comes out to tell Cesar he can go in to see his mother now. He tells her not now, he wants to be alone. Cesar is pacing around the hospital waiting room. [This is not good. Cesar always thinks up his most dastardly deeds while he paces.] He can’t figure out how or when this “bastardo” got together with Mauro. But, he realizes he will have to resolve this very quickly.

Cesar takes a call from a shady guy at the near kidnapping scene. [It’s not Abel, although they are both “in uniform.” This is probably a replacement for Aaron and Horacio, who got crossed off Cesar’s go-to list and can no longer serve him.] Cesar isn’t fazed by the news. At this moment, he could care less about either Vale or Amaya. [Ya think? He’s got bigger fish to spear now.] He his still head-plotting. He cancels the appointment he had with Amaya at the Notario’s (he was going to try to force her to sign over her share of the ZE).

Cesar is finally ready to meet his maker. [I mean his mother, literally his maker.] She harangues him for leaving her alone for so long. She’s clutching her purse as if she really had something valuable in it. At this point in her life, it’s only stuffed full of unattained goals, plots that failed, hatred for Eloisa, Florencia and Mauro, and the blood of her victims.

Using RPC (Recappers Privilege Card) Manuel & Consta over Lunch - Manuel tells Consta about the appearance of MA and its significance for Max. He tells her José has left the house and why.

RPC Continued More José Stuff - He’s at the garage making arrangements for the race with Fixer Guy (FG), the head mechanic-cum-bookie. Geno walks in looking for José. He hides. FG tells her he hasn’t seen José and will call if he does. The two guys agree to set the race for that night.

RPC Continued Jorge and the Two Attorneys - Alexa is contentedly drawing in Jorge’s office. Tania’s Attorney (TA) has arrived. Secretary takes Alexa for cookies. Jorge’s Attorney arrives (JA). They meet and greet. TA says the environment Jorge is providing is not good for the child. JA says there are no holes in the will. Jorge says he understands things are a bit wonky, but he became a dad overnight. He’s working on providing a family-friendly environment for Alexa. TA says it’s not good enough. See you in court. [Jorge does a PSA concerning differently abled persons. Lila—can you take it for me?]

RPC Continued Carolina and Dario - Photo shoot. Dario takes many photos of Caro. She’s a bit embarrassed. He asks her if they could start an exclusive relationship and see where it goes. She grabs the camera. He wants to know why. So she can get a photo of him when she says yes. If it works, he has an assignment in Cuba at the end of the year and wants her to go with him. The yes turns into a kiss.

Mon May 4 Pt 4

At the Police Station - Caro has arrived at the station to help in any way she can. Iván asks to see Cecy—they have unfinished business. Vale goes off with Mari to get something to drink. MA arrives and is introduced to Caro. She’s a little startled to meet the infant Luce tried to kill. Amaya explains Caro knows the whole story. She loves being called hermana. There are hugs and smiles.

Iván has gone back to the cell block where Cecy is being held. He tells her he was pretending the whole time to trap her and Uli. He knew they were accomplices. Cecy doesn’t believe him. She loves him. She knows he “querers” her. Iván replies that no one can understand her way to love—loaning herself to kidnap a child? Cecy will not accept culpability. She says she didn’t want to do it, but Uli forced her, threatened her. Cecy says everything she did was to gain his love. Iván says that for what she did there is no pardon. His heart belongs to Mari, always has, always will. Even if Mariana didn’t exist, he could never love someone like her. He ends the convo by telling her that he and she will never, never see each other again. She screams after him not to leave her, but the guard tells her to shut up.

Mari is giving her statement. The kidnapping of Vale was not for financial gain but to blackmail her (into going back to him). Iván returns to tell Mari Cecy is not right in the head. He will call Becca later to tell her all about it.

Family Reunion at Juli’s House - Marco Antonio is filling in Vale and the rest who don’t know the whole story about himself and his family. Lucio is sitting next to Alexa. She seems perfectly comfortable with him. Lucio is excited to have a new niece.

MA leaves for his “date” with Cesar.

Iván gets a call from the agente at the police station with an update on Cecy and Ulises. On the couch in the background, Vale and Lucio are giggling and having fun. Alexa comes over and climbs up on Vale’s lap and the three continue to play. [I dare Tania to say anything else about Lucio being incompatible with children who are not differently abled.]

Becca gets the call from Iván. He and Mari are free of Uli and Cecy. He urges her to come to Mexico City to see her, because once she is sentenced it may be a long time before she can see her again.

Where is the Rest of Me? - Ulises wakes up in handcuffed to a hospital bed. He must get out of there, NOW. He cannot go to jail. He whips off his sheet and tries to move. It could be a Ronald Reagan moment in King’s Row, but it’s Uli. He starts screaming when he sees he’s missing parts. [For Patio Peeps they weren’t the right parts, but ni modo, he’s not going anywhere, anytime soon.]

The Night Racers - Young people are gathering for the race. It’s quite a crowd milling around for such short notice. [I forgot there is social media in the mix.] José is very confidant. He will win. Fixer Guy (FG) tells him the bets are all in his favor. The scarf drops and they’re off—neck and neck. Then something goes wrong. The front wheel comes off José’s red souped up car and he’s in a rollover. He’s thrown clear but lands on the pavement. Everyone scatters and takes off. Soon it looks as though José was in a one-person accident on a lonely road at night and no one there to help him. [Hmmm, was this a real accident or did FG have something to do with loosening the bolts on the wheel and actually encouraged bets against José.]

Mon May 4 Pt 5

RPC Again Manuel and Geno Fret - Geno has looked everywhere for José. Manuel told her it would be a waste of time. Should they call the police? Manuel says what for—he’s of age to do what he wants. Geno is afraid he’ll fall in with bad company and take the wrong path in life. Manuel says sagely that José never left the bad route.

Upstairs in the Montesinos Mansion - Luce has made it home. She’s lounging in bed in her blue satin pajamas. There’s a knock at the door. Miss Molly Maid has brought her medicine. The freak who is freaking out is freaked even more. It’s very clear Luce has lost a goodly number of her marbles. She’s convinced Florencia is trying to murder her. She thinks Flo sent Molly Maid in with poison in the pills. [The black purse makes an appearance on the bed beside Luce.] Luce flings the tray and screams for her to get out.

Luce, still cowering in her bed is raising such a ruckus as Molly Maid is trying to clean up the tray that Flavia comes in to see what’s going on. She’s followed by Lucio and Eloisa. Molly Maid doesn’t know what to do as Luce acts crazier and crazier. Lucio is being horribly affected by the screaming. Eloisa tries to calm Luce down but she continues to accuse anybody and everybody of wanting to murder her. She grabs Eloisa by the throat when she gets too near. It takes Molly Maid, Flavia and even Lucio to pull her off of Eloisa. Luce retreats to the head of the bed moaning and groaning while Eloisa manages to inject her with a tranquilizer. Flavia tries to calm Lucio down in the hall. Elo convinces him she’s not hurt.

Brother Meets “Brother” - Cesar and Marco Antonio (MA) meet at the restaurant. Cesar wants to know where Florencia is. MA tells him he doesn’t know. All communication has been by phone or messages. Cesar wants to know why she hasn’t put in an appearance. MA answers because she won’t until Lucrecia steps forward to accept the blame for attempting to murder her.

Cesar gets right to the point. What is MA willing to exchange for Cesar persuading his mother to turn herself in. MA says whatever he wants. What Cesar wants are all his shares in Nescafé as Mauro Montesinos’ primogenitor and his part of ZE. MA tells Cesar with complete aplomb he has no interest whatsoever in the coffee business nor some land out in the country. He’d rather have the money. Cesar smiles inwardly. In return, Cesar promises to turn in his mother and publicly accuse her of the attempted murder of MA’s mother. What does he say to that? Freeze frame on Marco Antonio’s serene facial features

And, my friends, with this recap I bow out and leave the last episodes in the capable hands of others. It has been a pleasure to follow this story along to its conclusion. Anita

Love the recap, Anita. Lots of RPC type scenes which really surprised me considering we are nearing the end. I assume they are trying to clear up the side stories before the fin...but oh my we still have so many to clear up!!

As much as I hated Jose, I felt a lot of pity for Geno. How horrible to find out your child died alone on a street.

I wondered the same thing about wheel tampering!

I didn't catch it, but when Lucio said he was excited to have a new niece, I wasn't referring to Alexa. It's little Florencia, Marco Antonio's daughter. Sorry.

Sara--I used RPCs short cuts liberally because I wanted to concentrate on the really important fun stuff. I got lots of Jose and nothing of Max. Sigh.

I know!! Not one measly scene with Max!! Poor Anita!

Awesome recap, Anita! Great episode. I didn't think that much time was actually spent with Jose, Geno, Connie, or Caro. Those scenes were all very short. No Max or Mauro today.

That chase scene was wild! Most of it looked like it was the actual actors and not stunt doubles. I thought Uli's anvil was very appropriate- losing those long legs of his and jail. And Ceci wasted her second chance, so a long jail term for her too. Good riddance.

Time for Becca to give Hector a divorce, sling her hook, and let Hector hook up with Chelo.

My favorite scene was Alexa climbing into Vale's lap and them playing with Lucio.

Vivi--You know me, though, I would have added more of the conversations to those shorter scenes, but it was already taking me a long time--not that I didn't enjoy it.

It's too bad Uli lost his legs becasue he and Ivan would have been really good at parkour. All that jumping over stairs and sliding down posts. If parkour became a paralympics event, Uli'd have a good shot! If he ever got out of jail that is.

Kelly

Thank you, Dear Anita! Thank you so very much! This recap was just as rollicking and rolling as the episode and I enjoyed every word!

Your description of the exciting and acrobatic attempted escape by Uli with Ivan in hot pursuit was excellent! That foot chase was so beautifully choreographed that I'm going to look at it again and read your recap again!

Who knew Uli had such amazing skills: all he ever did was sit around and plot to steal Mariana, now those flipping and flying days are over!

Just like Ceci to try to dodge responsibility for the attempted kidnap of Vale. The writers knew that WE knew hearing that Ivan and Mariana would be together was a critical part of Ceci's anvil: both Amaya and Ivan, himself, socked that to her! Yes! Two much-deserved anvils and so glad we are done with those two!

You captured Lu's meltdown perfectly as well, Amiga! Looks like they are playing the crazy card big time! I guess they're doing that so the kids don't regard her with just outright unvarnished hate -- mama did some baaaad things, but she was ill. Yeah. Right. Okay. It's not over yet but Lu may have motherhood temper her anvil.

Four days to go! I'm till looking for that computer to turn up!

Well. More later, got to get ready for you know what! Thanks again, Anita!

:D

Oh, wait! Yes! I called in on Jose. If he doesn't die, maybe now he will be repentant. If he lives, I hope they don't make him "brain damaged," like a movie the name of which I can't remember where a driven, no time for his family, type A guy suffered brain damage and then became a loving husband or some such. Regarding Henry, I think. Anyway, that would be a cop out!

See Jose, this is what losers like your parents know can happen with "friends" who are similarly lacking in frontal lobe development and awash in hormones are those whose counsel you take. Those "friends" scattered like roaches on a RAID! commercial. As the old folks say, "a hard head makes for a soft behind". In Jose's case I think a lot more than his behind is going to be soft.

Ok. More on him and other stuff later!

As much as I kvetched about Jose, I would like to see him alive and contrite. Geno doesn't deserve the pain.

I know Sara, but Jose's a brat, who has no limits!

Meanwhile: Becca needs to be punished like going to prison for her complicity in kidnapping Mariana & Ivan!

Anita,

This was exceptionally detailed, and as usual, you write beautifully.
You are the one who should be writing a book. Thanks so much.
You have "bowed" out with wisdom, grace, and style.

I am very upset about José.
One person remarked that he is dead, but in my mind, I am hoping he is still alive. At 18, he
has a lifetime where he can become a highly productive citizen.

I have no patience with people who are so callous to want this person dead. Many 18 year olds steal cars, get involved with drugs, participate in home invasions and much more. We are not supposed to kill them for those errors.

It appears that José became very frightened as things escalated to the start of the race. He looked as if he wanted to back out for sure, but he didn't have the courage in front of his peers to do so. Thus, even if the wheel did not come off, he would have been very tentative during the race. Either way, he would have come to a bad end.

I do not want Genoveva to experience this horrible heartbreak for her only child--misguided -- or guidance deprived --though he has been.

Dr. Marco looked very handsome in that last freeze frame. I am starting to become intrigued by him. I like him better in this role than as a wandering minstrel in AV.

GOOD RIDDANCE to the bad actors. I have a feeling ULI will kill himself, vain person that he is.
The writers left him open to recovery via use of prosthetics, but he may not want to deal with that. In contrast, if José is deceased, the writers gave him no option. I am intensely hoping that José has again another chance to realize the error of his ways and bring comfort to his family.
One thing he could do is work with wayward teens. There are endless possibilities for him. I hope the writers do not close them off.

Floridia-I think I may have been the one to assume he was dead. It seemed like a pretty bad accident.

I agree with you that nothing Jose has done has been so bad that DEATH should be his anvil. So at the last hour I am hoping (mainly for Geno's sake) that Jose survives and is rehabilitated.

Hola, Peeps, checking in after a good night's sleep. Thank you for the thank yous, hehe.

Floridia--You are so right about 18-year-olds. Their brains are not fully matured and their cognitive skills may be a bit screwy, but Jose suffered no deprivations growing up, no lack of a good education, a loving mother--just a totally absent father. Hmmm. Sounds kinda like what my kids lived through. They took no side roads to maturity.

It's certainly hard to predict who turns to crime and who doesn't. How much is peer pressure, how much is low self-esteem. To me, Jose is a stereotype. He was painted to be a brat and a jerk and getting involved with petty criminals (who had guns, don't forget, and committed burglaries for fun and profit) was a simple way to depict him. Real people are much more complicated.

So--I'm going to give him a break. I hope he survives, injured, but not disabled. I wonder how Manuel will react after he said what he did about Jose never having left the crooked road.

AND, BTW, Floridia, I also noticed some fear in Jose's eyes as he got in his car and started the race, but the wheel fell off too early for me to tell if it was merely camera angles or what, so I left out that description. But I'm glad someone else noticed it.

Isn't it funny how obsessed we've become over a minor character who really had no impact on the main story or on the other sub-main stories where they impacted the main one.

Maybe there will be more later. Got lots to do, company coming.

Oh, yes, Floridia--Dr. Marco, aka Alex Sirvent was the wandering minstrel in LQLVMR, not AV. He was an important character, one of the Scooby-dos, the good guys, in Amor Bravio. Every single one of the actors in that tn turned in an excellent performance.

Anita and Sara, Lila,

I am so glad that you are rooting for José to recover. I am thinking a few months of physical therapy with no significant damage to any part of his body that cannot be healed. This will give him plenty of time to think and be sincerely contrite.

I also think that he was starting to reflect a tiny bit after Manuel used some tough love on him, but there again, he dodged his mother when she came looking for him. He was hell bent on his quest - single minded -- if you will to the detriment of clear thinking.

Anita, please don't compare yourself in any way to wishy washy
Genoveva. José needed a firm, consistent hand his entire life, but all he got was love from a mother who felt guilty about everything and let him have his way most of the time for lack of knowing how to raise him properly --- in the intangible things that mattered.

Manuel, remember, is not an optimist. He had given up on Don Mauro. By the way, let's get the show on the road, and bring him back to the action. I really miss him.

ANITA: THANKS FOR THE CORRECTION.
I got my TN'S mixed up. I know how his role was developed LO QUE.

"By the way, let's get the show on the road, and bring him back to the action. I really miss him."

YES, PLEASE!!!! I am eagerly awaiting Cesar's reaction to his father's resurrection.

"Looks like they are playing the crazy card big time! I guess they're doing that so the kids don't regard her with just outright unvarnished hate -- mama did some baaaad things, but she was ill. Yeah. Right. Okay. It's not over yet but Lu may have motherhood temper her anvil."

Love this analysis, Lila. I am a little disappointed with the insanity anvil, but I do like how the writers seem to consider how things would truly affect other characters.

Bravo nita girl, Bravo. Good recap, Good recap. O don't think jose i dead but he will be sorry when he wakes up. Hopefully this will be a new beginning for him. We'll see.

Nina

Ok sara, you'er on girl. Give us what you got. I know it's going to be good.

Nina

I am writing this from my phone. I am unable to get on the network at home. When hubs is done doing his thing it will get fixed and I'll have the full recap. Here's the short version for now -

Cesar agrees to sell his mother out for shares and ZE

Jorge proposes. Juli says yes.

Jose survives. He's blind. Cons tells him to stop playing the victim. Oh the irony!

Max pleads not guilty. Cesar testifies that he's capable of murder.

Rebecca and Ivan make up.

Cecy is going to the nut house.

Uli is going to jail.

Max's lawyer tries to make César look like a suspect. Lu claims César was with her the whole afternoon of the murder.

Amaya gets a phone call. While she steps out to take the call, the judge reads the verdict : Max is guilty. Amaya runs back in. Stop the verdict! There's a witness that can testify it wasn't Max who killed Horacio!

Thanks, Sara! Yes ma'am, those are the key points. I couldn't even get upset when Max was found guildty. The neighbor who tried to talk to Amaya at the time of the attempted contact at school must have called Amaya. So that's good, but I still want the computer to show up! That will seal Cesar's fate!

Prediction/speculation, NOT a spoiler:

Rather than go to prison and face the Loss of the Empire (sounds like the name of a book) and the shame and rage of Max beating him and going to prison full of imbeciles and idiots, I think Cesar will use the ricin on himself.

I partially called the Jose car crash. I thought he would die or, if he lived, would suffer brain damage. But he's blind. He had to lose his sight to be able to see how loving and supportive his family was. Hmmm. What do y'all think about THAT!

I'll wait for the rest Sara. Remember, we no sweat da recaps!

Thank you!

Lila: Jose being blind doesn't surprise me, but Costanzia "I can't help clinging onto people" is definitely going to get an anvil!

Cecy Goldilocks going to the Crazy House: it's time for some HAPPY PILLS LOL!

Yes, you've guessed it, Luc's lucky purse made an appearance today at the hearing.

You're right about Cesar: he's going to run out of luck dodging sooner or later!

Plus, today is my 30th birthday!

Sara- I laughed at your line about Cons telling Jose to not to play the victim. Then I felt terrible, because he is blind after all. Terrible that it took this to start setting him straight, but there you go. Maybe his neediness will give Cons something else (besides the baby) to focus on when Max dumps her. Plus, I thought there was something about how maybe this isn't permanent, so those hoping for a lesser anvil may be in luck. But probably not this week.

Excellent recap summary!

Kelly

I don't think you should feel bad at all, Kelly. IMO it was supremely insensitive for Cons to say that to him so soon after he found out he was blind.

Cons played the victim after not getting the man she wanted. And continues to act like the whiny wronged party.

Jose has lost his sight. That's got to be hard on a young person.

About to work on an only slightly more detailed recap.

I told ya'll something would happen to change him, and look who gave him (jose) some good advice, his big sis. The one thing shes done right during the whole show. I think shes going to do something else right, but we'll have to wait and see.

I love to see marco and mauro together. They have such a beautiful father/son relationship. He rubs his fathers chest, that is just presious. It will be wonderfull to see him back, his children need him. Their mom is mentally absent.

Nina

Tues Part 1

Cesar agrees that Lu will confess to trying to kill Flavia in exchange for Marco's giving up his rights as first born, shares in the company and la ZE. When Marco expresses disgust with Cesar for selling out his own mother, Cesar just explains that whatever happened doesn't concern him. It's between the two ladies. He doesn't want to be his mother's accomplice. Marco is still a little surprised. He was under the impression that Cesar and his mother were pretty united. Cesar explains that the Montesinos children were raised to have an "every man for himself" mentality.

Flavia finds it hard to see her mother so out of it. To Flavia, Lu had always seemed so strong. Elo explains that seeing Marcos must have been very hard. Lu always hated Florenica with the white hot passion of a thousand suns. Seeing that Mauro and Florenica's child made her flip her lid.

Cesar wants a guarantee that Marco will follow through with the shares in the company and La ZE and Marco wants a guarantee that Cesar will give up Lu. They don't trust each other. Marco will do his best to convince Florencia to sell la ZE to Cesar. They shake on it.

Jorge and Juli catch up. Juli had a bad day (The will, Marco and the almost kidnapping of Val) and Jorge had to deal with lawyers and the custody case. But romantic dinner, fireworks and engagement rings!

Flavi has had a trying day , too. She wishes Heriberto was there with her. He offers to hop on the next bus and be in the DF by the AM. She appreciates that he wants to do that, but he should stay at El P. They te quiero each other.

Juli says yes. Jorge promises he's not proposing just to win the custody battle. Which makes me sort of think he is. I thought it was a romantic gesture until he felt the need to explain that.

Cesar watches over his sedated mother and proclaims that sometimes in chess you have to sacrifice the queen.

Max in his jail cell. He has to get out. He has to get his life back, care for his child...fix things with Amaya. The cell mate asks "who will you stay with-the mother of your child or the other woman?"

Amaya and Cons separately worry about Max's trial which starts tomorrow.

The next morning Geno is worried that José has not come home. Then she gets the dreaded phone call. She informs Mauricio that there's been an accident and José is in grave condition.

The trial is about to begin. Flavia reprimands Cesar for not keeping Lu in the hospital(?) He claims everything is under control and Flavia tells him about Lu's attack on Elo. Lu walks up and tells them to quit talking about it. It was an isolated incident. The trial begins.

Marco tells Mauro about Cesar's willingness to throw Lu under the bus to get control of Nescafe. Mauro says Lu has no idea her son is willing to send her to the executioner to get the power he wants.

The court is called to order. Max pleads NOT GUILTY! This is a shock. The judge reminds him that falsifying a declaration is a crime. The defense lawyer explains that Max had made his previous guilty plea under duress. He had fought with his brother and been sent to solitary. The judge tells the defense to call their witnesses.

Tues Part 2
Rebeca tells Cecy that she will be sent to the looney bin as punishment for her part in the kidnapping. Her only sin is loving Ivan! Rebeca will take care of the finca until Cecy gets out.

RPC Max gives his testimony and the cross examination. We saw the episode. We know what happened. (vocab occiso the deceased.) The prosecution argues that the loss of la ZE coffee harvest cost Max millions and that's why he killed Horacio.

Geno and Mauricio arrive at the hospital. The doctor informs them that José has suffered some irreversible affects from the accident.

Uli is informed he will be sent to jail. Uli would rather die than be in jail.

Amaya on the stand. She testifies about his character. He was suspected of poisoning Cip. The prosecution objects, but it's overruled. The defense was just trying to show that HOracio had lots of enemies. Amaya goes on to explain that Horacio was a dishonest man. He was fired from his previous job for suspected fraud. He only got the job at Nescafe thanks to his lover Emma. Amaya then explains that she met Max when he saved her life. Max is not capable of killing anyone.

Geno and Mauricio inform José that he is blind. Wailing. Gnashing of teeth. Chewing of scenery.

Cesar gives his testimony. Most important part: Cesar implies Max and Amaya had an affair while she was still married to Horacio AND (this was the biggest part) When asked if he thinks Max is capable of murder he answers "YES."

Hola, Sara,

Great outline; we've got a lot to work with. Thank you for all that you have contributed to keep this TN flowing so smoothly with little more than a skeleton crew.

1. Jorge knows how to treat a woman.

He says and does just the right thing. What a romantic evening!
We are also getting their romance out of the way so we can concentrate on the main event later.

2. I am very pleased that José is still among us. I would have preferred that he become contrite
earlier, but that was not meant to be.

3. CONSTANZA HAS HAD HER FINEST MOMENT! She talked straight to her brother and gave him a pep talk at the same time. She is far closer in age to him than his parents, and he was willing to accept her advice.

Let's get moving!

Tues Part 3

José still chews the scenery. He wants his parents to talk to the doctor and tell him to do whatever it takes to restore his sight. His parents remind him that they are there for him. They get a loud "get out!" in exchange for their love and support.

Everyone yells and Cesar. He claims he was just nervous. Cons calls him the worst brother ever. Cesar says he doesn't want to be charged with obstruction of justice. Jorge asks since when does Cesar worry about the law. The defense arrives to tell them the bad news. Cesar's testimony was highly prejudicial. He'll try to do damage control tomorrow.

Lu and Cesar are accosted by the press outside the jail. They have no comment.

Max tells his lawyer that Amaya and Juli suspect Cesar. He asks the lawyer to talk to them. The lawyer will do what he can to get Max out of jail.

Cons is at the hospital. She wants to talk to Jose.

Rebeca, Ivan and Mariana have lunch. She's tells them she's going to go to La Tormenta. She apologizes for all the harm she did.

Cons tells Jose she's there because he matters to her. He might be blind, but he can still have a normal life. The only thing that matters is having a positive attitude. He has all of them to support him.

Ivan forgives Rebeca.

Cons is afraid of the future too. She manages it to turn it around to her and the fact that Max is in jail. Jose finally starts to...er...see the light? Bad word choice. Whatever. Anyway. He asks Cons to forgive him. And begs them not to leave him.

Max can't let Cesar destroy him!

Day 2 of the trial. The defense will try to throw suspicion on Cesar. They question him about leaving Nescafe right after Max. They also have the camera footage. Lu steps up and claims Cesar was with her that afternoon. Cesar claims that he didn't know Horacio had assaulted his EX wife until after Horacio's death.

Maunel (Shit. I cannot remember his name. Why do I keep calling him Mauricio.) apologizes for not being the best father. Family hug aaaaand recording cuts out. Lovely. Thanks univision.

Jose begs forgiveness.

Thanks, Sara! For the second time today.

Just watched my recording. So happy they ended with Amaya's witness and not with the guilty verdict. Yay!

Blindness is going to be tough for Jose to learn to live with. That's a tough one. But it seems to have finally humbled him. Glad to see Connie supporting him. Hopefully caring for her blind little brother will continue to build her nurturing side and make her more mature and independent.

Thank you, Sara! Yah. We know Max is going to get out. Did they ever show us whether Val and Amaya were allowed into Hor's apartment so Val could get some of his things?

I hope these predictions don't bother people. I truly am just guessing!

Anyway. I'm thinking they didn't show us where Amaya and Vale were allowed into Hor's apartment but maybe Amaya was looking at his computer and found the recording?

OR

Once the suspicion of Cesar was brought up to Max's lawyer, HE suggests or demands/requires whatever that the computer be examined and the damning (to Cesar) recording is found!

Ok. It's late. I'm tired. See y'all in the morning!

My thoughts:
1.) Jose begging for forgiveness: too bad!

2.) Cesar & Luc are getting nervous as their reign of terror is closer to ending.

3.) Marco Antonio & Don Mauro having another Father & Son talk AWWW :)! Florencia is looking down from Heaven proud of both of them.

4.) On Costanzia helping Jose: it'll help nurture her but she still needs an anvil though.

Sara, so sorry you got so much Jose. You did a good job on the whole episode.

Except for Jose screaming poor me until Consta took over, it was a redeeming episode for him. Now that he has calmed down, has the support of his parents, he can get busy and learn braille, borrow books on tape (or podcasts now-a-days), use a cane and start life over. End of MY story on Jose.

Don't know what else I can say that hasn't already been said, but I'm upset we're still being given a couple of cliff hangers to wait out.

Don't know how I feel about Becca and Ivan making amends. Mari seemed unconvinced, but accepting. Personally, I'm glad she'll be WUN and not in daily contact with them. They need to start their lives without any old baggage hanging over them.

Ok, gotta go, company calling for me.

Steve--Happy birthday. If that is your photo you use as an avatar, I would have guessed at least 10 more years on you. Hope you have many, many more and continue to look as distinguished as you do now.

Where ever there can be forgiveness there should be forgiving. It's to heavy a burten to carry. free yourself, be happy. There's a lot of happy blind people. I saw the look on manuel's face when he was watching his children,(constanza/jose). that was the look of a proud papa. Can't wait to see that look on mauro's face.

Nina

I don't have a problem with Ivan forgiving Beca. He's that kind of guy, and it does him no good to hold a grudge since she's not going to remain a terrible influence on his child. If she were still living with Ceci, he might have to make other decisions, but I doubt Ceci will be getting sane any time soon.

Kelly

Since Ivan never held any grudge or bad feelings for Becca his whole life, even knowing she abandoned him as a kid, I figured he would forgive her for her role in helping Ceci the first time. He's just that kind of guy. Mari was more wary, but she's also a forgiving soul. If she could forgive her lout of a father, Cip, before he kicked the bucket, then she can certainly forgive Becca easily. But I am also glad that she won't be a daily part of their lives.

Nina- Manuel did look VERY proud seeing how his two children were leaning on each other. It was his cowardice that kept them from growing up together knowing each other. But together, this family of four imperfect people can really help each other become stronger, better people.

That cook lady that Ivan's father likes. She should have a makeover.get rid of the rubbons, she is a middleaged woman, with that look she's stuck in her teen years.

Anita: Thank you very much for wishing me a happy birthday.

The photograph in my avatar is of former Louisiana Governor Edwin W. Edwards (D), 1972-1980; 1984-1988; 1992-1996.

It's looking like Ivan's father is going to divorce Becca for good & marry the cook!

With everything that has been happening and all the stress of keeping her and Cesar's lies straight, I believe the ONE thing that pushed Lucrazy over the edge into Lalaland was the impact of seeing Marco Antonio in front of her. I don't even think she heard or needed the explanation of who he was. To her mind teetering on the edge of reason, he IS Mauro Montesinos, back from the grave to exact his revenge! I picture everything else since then to be (for her) nothing but muttering, screams, and wailing sounds echoing over and over again in her mind. Ya se fue Lucrecia! Too bad she won't feel any other anvil she may get.

Leila

PS - awesome recaps, Recappers! Have been mostly unable to do much than read the recaps and a little of the comments, what with life interfering and all - but I'm back now for the end of this great tn

Hey, Leila! Life's a blur sometimes, isn't it? Not sure if we're ending Thursday or Friday but Corazon's got an exciting episode today!

:D

Chelo's hairstyle is very traditional Mayan hair: http://www.flickriver.com/photos/citlali/sets/72157624716591053/

Klingyconnie, clingyconny,klingyconsta.
Freedom is sweet.
The worse crulty should not come from your mother. Or anybody else.
The Eliment of surprise is shockingly sweet.
And we'er off..........come ooooon recaps.

Nina

I like Chelo's hair. It suits her and the hacienda (although that woman has a beautiful face that could probably carry anything). I was in a Zapotec village outside Oaxaca last year and some of the woman wore ribbons in their braids as well. Not quite as many, but they weren't on tv.

Kelly

I haven't forgotten about the recap.

Today was eventful from Max's liberation to Hector's gentle turning down of Rebeca and lastly. Mauro's return.

I certainly enjoyed Lucrecia's singing and Cesar's disgust towards it.

I'm preparing it on my phone from memos and will be posting it soon.

Thanks, Corazon! We're fine. Don't worry about us. Thank you for your work on it!

Lila: Cesar & Luc's reactions when Don Mauro did "The Champ Is Here" roar LOL!

Cannot wait until tomorrow when Don Mauro exposes Cesar & Luc's secrets!

I probably wont read the recap until morning, maybe. I'm over here in the east, and it's gettin late. But I know it's going to be oodles of goodness, so cora take your time and do it up good. I know you will.

Nina

I love the joke of Lu's horrible singing. They've used that joke before to great effect. More classy, subtle humor that fits in with the character's personality and the tenor of the story without the need for designated clowns.

Today WILL be as great as the whole week and the whole series has been.

Lu's delusions about her singing ability are like Cesar's delusions about his handsome awesomeness. They are both self-centered and narcissistic. Can't wait to see Lu's face when she realizes Cesar sold her out to Marco. Her face when she saw Mauro enter the room yesterday and whipped off her sunglasses was pretty darn awesome. Someone needs to make a gif of that. :)

Of all times for my DVR to fail me, it was yesterday. I will have to find it somewhere else. For now, my voice is silent. I have no idea what happened and I don't have time to read anything.

Kelly--Stand by incase there IS a Friday episode. My DVR says there is, but no QAs from Monday on.

That WAS a great scene, Vivi! Yesterday's last 2 minutes were so exciting I was screaming! It's going to be even better today! Hope I do it justice!

Lila

Oh no, Anita! I had been taping them and discovered my program (an old Windows application that is no longer supported) had pooted out on me! Danged technology!

Floridia -- asked me to repost this. It should go up at this date:

Wed May 06, 12:30:00 AM EDT

Thanks again, Sara,

The gift that keeps on giving.

The TN gods taketh away, and the
TN gods restoreth ones health.

I'm thinking of channeling
Dr. Juan Miguel from Cuidado con el angel to restore José's sight.

Viewers will recall how this
gifted psychiatrist spent two months in Boston studying ophthalmology and specialized eye surgery under one of the world's most renowned physicians in that field. Remarkably, the pupil surpassed his mentor and returned to Mexico where he miraculously restored the sight of Marichuy who was believed to be a hopeless case.

Ni contigo ni sin ti offers another example of restored vision.

I am sure there are many more.
In time, José may be as fortunate.

Awww, Floridia, what a sweetheart. That would indeed be a miracle if Jose's sight could be recovered. With all the other big shoes to drop, time is running out. Maybe they'll do an años después thingy!

QA on 5/6/2015 (Part 1)

Amaya's neighbor Ximena is giving her testimonio and whenever it looks like the odds are against him, Cesar just stews. Xime says that she saw WhoreAss on the floor bloodied and ALIVE. However, someone else with a figure she couldn't make out came in. Ximena says she confesses to knowning all of this because she couldn't leave it on her conscience. Amaya thanks Xime for testifying and Xime says it was no problem; she couldn't stand idly by and not help to the best of her ability. As Cesar just sits there with the glassiest of looks in his eye, Max is given liberty because he didn't kill WhoreAss and the search for the murderer is still on. Everyone cheers except Cesar who gives Max and ViewerVille a big pot of stew and directs Lucre in an intersection. She commands Ces. to stop pulling and pushing her and you know what? She's happy Max is out of jail because that means all the focus on the Montesino family will be gone! Cesar reminds her the WhoreAss case is still open and wants to leave ASAP. Lucre says they can't leave yet. Meanwhile, Juli calls Marco Antonio and Mauro; Max is free! Mauro is elated. Out the jail doors, Max is let loose a free and good man (Flavia goes for the first hug haha lucky gal.)

Aunt Becky (not from Full House) has come to get her things and overall fail to persuade Hec. to come back to her. He lets her know the truth; when she left him, he had a resentment towards women over what ONE WOMAN had done to him. She doesn't mean anything bad to him or anything good. He has divorce papers coming soon and with that they depart from each other (get this, Chelo is eavesdropping the whole time.)

(Gotta get my nephew to school. BRB!)

Great part 1, Corazon. Looking forward to the rest later.

Anita- Oh, no! I'll look around on YouTube and see if the episode exists, because it's a good one.

A bit more on what the neighbor saw. She came in after Max and Hor fought, spoke to Hor, saw he was alive, talking and as annoying as ever, no had head wound. As she was leaving, she saw someone out of the corner of her eye entering, but couldn't identify who it was. Meanwhile, her sister was downstairs waiting in the taxi, and her sister was the one who saw Max leaving the building and driving away. When she got downstairs, her sister told her about Max. They knew who he was because they had met him once with Amaya, they have seen him in the news/magazines, and have always admired how handsome he is (I'm sure this hurt Cesar).

Here you go, Anita. Found it on DailyMotion: http://tinyurl.com/qxgr4do

ViVi: Don Mauro is sure going to expose all of the dirty secrets of Cesar & Luc today!

I'm going to be loving it!

Corazon: Hector divorcing Becca for good is good news to me!

At least he gets to be with Chelo the cook!

Lila: I'm expecting you to produce the juicy recap of today's recap, especially where Luc's lucky purse makes an appearance.

FREE LUCIO!

Damn right free LUCIO! A mother that would do that to her child is DEAD inside. And you what, it's about to come back on her, the child she put so much stock in (cesar), he's about to (hang her out to dry). That's a phrase we use here in the south. Her black bag can be recycled, to bad she can't be, (Lucrecia). Haha!!!!

Nina

Anita- No problem on the recap. I was actually able to watch the last episode, which is really two shows long. I'll wait on the recap, if there is one, to see where they split the show. I wanted to be able to watch with full attention anyway before trying to recap since it's the last time to see these people. Boo.

Kelly

Does anyone know what tn (if any) is coming to the QA timeslot next?

Anon, I heard that Univision was planning on doing 2 hours of La Rosa de Guadalupe!

Whose doing fridays recap. I hate that it's coming to an end. There wont be much to watch in the afternoon now that max and the gang are gone:-(. But isn't christian going to be on that show on life time network? One of you guys found that out ealier this year, thats something to look forward too. Kind of sorry for klingy connie. But she knew this coming. She'll be fine. We'll talk later, busy day really tired. The recap should goooood!!!!

Nina

The recap should (be) goooood!!! I hate typos.
Me from above ^

QA on 5/7/2015

Lucre and Ces. are driving taking about Marco Tony's return. He has his phone on record (IDK HOW Lucre doesn't see this) and mentions MA's confirmation that Flor is alive which results in that she spills her guts about how no one in the family must know she attempted to kill Florencia and also get rid of MA. Cesar then calms the bitch down by saying he will talk the" idiot" into dealing over his part of Zona Estrella. Lucre thanks Ces. for always keeping her in mind. At the mansion, Lucre hugs Max (who is leaving.) Cesar asks why he has his bags packed and Max says that he has nothing more to do in this place; Cesar was against Max and believed the guy would murder the way he was falsely accused so he's outtie. Cesar calls that an absurd accusation and Lucre chimes in with thay she never believed he would be capable of killing WhoreAss and is happy this nightmare is.over (and I'm happy her current nightmare is festering.) Max calls out Lucre on not believing in anyone but Cesar so he has nothing more to do there. Connie (who is there as usual) urges him to be on his way with her already. Max says he will be on Lucio's case still which is where Lucre draws the line and puppy with laser beam eyes. She thinks he's talked with Eloisa but he hasn't. He's outtie now.

Chelo lists all the highlights lately;
-Ulises and Ceci are jailed
-Marco Antonio (emphasis that he is Mauro and Florencia's son) is present
-Max is free
Ivan no tomaba credito, hell is over! In the sweetest way ever, Hec. asks Chelo to marry him. She accepts!

At the sistah depa, Amaya and Caro talk about what went down earlier. Amaya wishes she could have stayed to eat at Juli's but she has no space in Max's life. Ivan and Mariana then come with Val; the young couple can't stay but conclude happily and fluffily. Val thanks Ivan for saving her life and so does Amaya; Ivan has no idea how much it means to her.

At Juli's; Lucio, Flavia, Jorge, Eloisa, Juli herself and the man of the hour Max each toast to libertad. Lucio asks if Val and Val's mom are coming and Max says unfortunately they aren't (Mariana and Ivan can't either.) Elo then says there's one more thing to toast to; Jorge and Juli are engaged! Alexa has woken from her nap and Jorge introduces her to everyone (plus gets Max to give her a kiss.)

Quiero Amarte on 5/7/2015

Lucre mutters to herself mentally.
"Why did that pest Marco Antonio have to appear? I told that nurse A FORTUNE to dispose of him so he wouldn't pose as a threat. I went through so much to get married to Mauro and disposed of all obstacles for accordance to my plans. I even gave up what I love most so I could give my son a father and become a woman of.society."
(Lucre flashes back to when she told Mauro she was pregnant and all that jazz. We get the scene of her with the gas and the plane all the while she is singing an evil DoReMiFaSoLaTiDo nonsense. Jesus this women is a psycho.)
She sings, laughs, and perks then gloms onto the fact that Florencia and her "spawn" are alive so her sacrifices were for nothing. She relishes in the second opinion needing fact that at least Mauro died and Cesar will be the Official NesCafe Official Something-Or-Other. Lastly, once she finished off her enemies, she will become a singer once again! She sings some more and then Cesar pipes up; "Shut up mom, you suck." Lucre defends herself; "My voice is privileged and if you haven't a clue how to appreciate it, that's not my problem." "I appreciate it but I have no idea how that imbecile Omar convinced you you were good." "FYI, I was well respected and had a stage name dweeb! La Scala!" She tries for a high note and how she doesn't break all the glass or rumble the marble finish of the house is beyond me.

One last goodbye from Amaya and Val to WhoreAss's apartment. (Weird but funny, Amaya gets custody of WhoreAss's stuff AND voice in what happens to it haha.)

Eloisa is looking everywhere for Lucio who has been dragged by Lucre to an institute. This.scene is too painful to recap but it sure as hell reserves a place in hell for Lucre.

(I'm rearing the end of this recap. Just before any misunderstandings occur due to me having dated this wrong, this recap is still from the 6th/capitulo 160.)

"Anonymous - Does anyone know what tn (if any) is coming to the QA timeslot next?"

I imagine Univision is waiting to see how "lo imperdonable" does in prime time before committing to anything else in their schedule. If it does as poorly here as it has so far in Mexico, Uni might have to do some drastic adjustments to its schedule. If it does fine, a possibility as I think Ana Brenda might be more popular here than there, we'll probably start seeing promos for what's to come in the afternoon slot the last couple weeks of May for an early June premiere.

Univision's press release for next week's upfront lists the newest novela from producer Carlos Moreno - producer of Quiero Amarte and Amor Bravio - as now being titled "A Que No Me Dejas Corazón." Cast apparently includes Camila Sodi, Leticia Calderon, Laura Carmine, ARturo Peniche, Alfredo Adame and perhaps Osvaldo Benavides.

They also have a write up for the upcoming Rosy Ocampo novela "Antes Muerta Que Lichita" that includes the first mini synopsis I've seen for the show. The story sounds promising in regards to a recent topic on this board about the rampant misogyny in telenovelas:

"This story follows Lichita (Maite Perroni), who has been working at an ad agency for eight years, but feels undervalued and invisible. Deciding it’s time for a change, she transforms herself from the office “whipping girl” into the empowered Alicia. But no climb to the top is ever easy; along the way, she faces situations that test her character and values. At the same time, the single mother who raised her is undergoing a similar journey–a path toward entrepreneurship. This story about women finding their power within features innovative storytelling techniques, like one character’s empowerment blog and a novela-within-a-novela which fans can follow online."

Ocampo's a decent, smart producer and this is that rarity of rarities from Televisa - an original story - so I'm hoping they can pull it off.

Thanks, RG. Rosie Ocampo's upcoming tn sounds great. Uni still hasn't shown Yo No Creo en los Hombres, or El Color de la Pasion, so maybe one of those will be selected for the day.

That's a shame about Imperdonable's ratings in Mexico. I hope it picks up more of an audience.

QA on 5/7/2015 (Final Part of the Penultimate)

As Lucio reaches out to his horrible mother, she struts away no shame whatsoever. Flavia calls Lucre and she rushes Flav off the phone with a phony promise of Lucio attending the event.

Max, Manuel, Connie, Veva- closure with an invitation to the NesCafe event.

Marco Antonio and Cesar exchange info; Cesar's got what you neeeeeed. He's playing the recording over the phone and Marco Antonio listens in anguish. Lucre will pay damnit.

Jorge vs. Tania; the custodial battle. Aaaand the wiener is... Tania because the winner is Jorge.

-The Big Day Has Come-
Caro and Dario are excited about the event and say hi to Amaya and Val. Val wants to hook up WhoreAss's laptop to see the final pictures and Amaya hands it and the charger to Caro. Amaya is scared of the possible X-Rated nonsense her girl could run into.

Mariana and Ivan tenderly conclude with Chelo, Hec, Hortensia and Ranchero whose name I never really got.

Max has shown up now at the event with Connie; Val runs up for a hug and after that, Connie pulls him for a kiss (my mom said Karyme must be slapping herself in the groin for having denied herself any sort of intimacy to Cristian.)

Mariana is setting up for her placement test over the phone and when that's over, lots of love kisses from Ivan.

The bare bones of this scene; Lucre shows up at the event without Lucio and denies she said she was going to bring him. (Meanwhile he is being broken in and told to get used to not seeing Eloisa anymore. Lucre is incredible!) Eloisa then goes to his school to get him and he isn't there. He's elsewhere however.

Jorge and Max give the beginning lectures and orally dictate a mini-thanks homage to Mauro and then give the floor to Amaya. She says the tres en uno coffee is spectacular and will bring your day to the right kind of kick start. She plays the commercial and then the floor is Cesar's..........until..... MAURO COMES IN TO SAVE THE DAY AND VERBALLY PUT CESAR IN HIS PLACE! HELL YEAH!

And with that, I must bid Quiero Amarte adieu.

This has been a wonderful and wild ride I will always remember fondly. I cannot thank Anita, Vivi, Sara, Lila and Kelly enough for all their hard work.

Thank you, Corazon. Will read it and comments later. Here is today's episode. Please try to hold off posting for a minute til I get it up.

As usual, I welcome corrections, additions, deletions.

Quiero Amarte - Capitulo 161 Thursday, May 7, 2015 JUDGEMENT DAY!!! Pt. 1

Hey, QA Peeps! Let’s pick up at the Nescafe offices where the entire Montesino clan and some special friends and members of the Nescafe family have gathered for the launching of Max and Amaya’s Tres en Uno, or Three in One gourmet coffee product. Max and Amaya have said their pice and shown a brief 3-in-1 commercial and now The Emperor Cesar has taken the podium. Unlike Max, who was choked up to be launching the product without his beloved Papa present, Cesar declares boldly that HE is now the President of Nescafe. Mauro, flanked by makes his appearance to the collective shock of the entire gathering.

“I am the President and I will continue to be,” Mauro declares as he fixes a stern and steady glare on Cesar who is equally stern and unsmiling. Max and Flavia rush forward to hug and kiss him. Lu whips off her dark shades, Amaya, Vale and Juli beam and a stunned silence sweeps through the whole audience. Lu, clutching her purse, can only gasp, “Mauro?” Max repeats that he KNEW it, he KNEW it and Flavia tearfully asks where has he been all this time. Mauro tells her he will tell them all later, but right now there is something important to clarify in front of everybody. Mauro strides up to the podium to face Cesar.

Now, good people. This could get VERY long if I go word for word so I hope you don’t think I’m giving this short shrift to paraphrase. As Mauro approaches Cesar, he tries to leave the podium. Mauro shouts “where are you going?” Cesar claims he was coming to hug him, he’s just in shock seeing him alive. Mauro asks is that because he and his mother thought he was dead? When Cesar calls him “Papa” Mauro explodes and yells that he shouldn’t call him that, he knows perfectly well that he is not his son. Max and Flavia look positively gobsmacked. Mauro says Cesar does not carry his blood, that all this time Cesar was deceiving him and that Lu confessed this to him when she attempted to murder him! Max and Flavia exclaim, “WHAT!” He tells them Lu shot him when they were on the banks of the river in Chiapas but she didn’t achieve her aim. That’s when Lu told him that Cesar was not his son but the son of Omar, her agent. It was then that he had a heart attack and fell in the river, and Lu thought he was dead.

What is the refuge of the evil when they are cornered? There are many and the first one of these is the lie. Max and Flavia flank Mauro in solidarity and the three face Cesar as he lies that he is Mauro’s son. He IS a Montesinos. He tries unsuccessfully to get Lu to back him up. He claims not to know what is going on and keeps turning to Lu who is clutching her purse like a shield, her mouth gaping soundlessly like a fish out of water, her face a mask of shock and terror. Mauro explodes at Cesar: BASTA! Stop faking. You have been aware of this for some time. You have always has been an accomplice of your mother!” Cesar yells at Lu to tell everyone he is Mauro’s son but Lu seems to have lost her voice. The next refuge of Cesar is an attempt at guilt tripping Mauro. He claims to have always adored him, that he was always a role model for him and everything he’s ever done was to make Mauro proud of him. For a brief moment we can see why Cesar’s malignant side has gone unnoticed by Mauro as Mauro almost seems to be believing Cesar. Cesar asks why would he ever hurt Mauro and then turns to the babbling, gasping Lu demanding that she SPEAK! Cesar eyes are read with tears which overflow as he tells Lu she is convicting him with her silence! He claims to have known nothing: How could he know his mother was a killer! Lu rises and goes to Cesar, trying to stroke his face and quiet the harsh words he just uttered. “For all your crimes and lies, in this moment I would give my life not to be your son!” Lu wails in agony!

Pt. 2

Lu sobs hoarsely before an unfeeling Cesar that she loves him, that he is her reason for living. She turns to Mauro and tells him he is wrong: Cesar is his son and Cesar adores him. Lu says something must have happened to him while he was missing and he’s just imagining many things. Mauro explodes again that she stop with the lies and hypocrisy! God has blessed him to survive her evil and return to seek justice and to set things right again in the family. Mauro now stands over Lu. “Cesar is not my son. To prevent the real father from telling me the truth about his (Cesar’s) origin you killed him!” Max and Flavia exclaim again. Mauro says Lu herself confessed this to him. Mauro apologizes to Max and Flavia, yes, shamefully their mother is a killer. Today all her crimes will be discovered. Lu visibly shrinks like the Wicked Witch of the West but she doesn’t dissolve in a plume of sickening smoke but just cowers and whimpers as Cesar looks on silently with red, glassy eyes.

Cesar continues to deny knowledge of any of what Mauro is accusing Lu. When he swears he didn’t know Amaya can’t take it anymore and jump up. She has proof of his complicity with Lu and tells of the recording she made when they were at a restaurant toether. From the recording she learned that the two of them wanted the Coffee Empire at ANY price. And the marriage proposal was only to get his hands on her land and to hurt Max. Max snaps out of the shock and pricks up his ears. Amaya now confesses that she agreed to marry him hating him AND his mama in order to expose Lucrecia and her KILLINGS. Max asks, “killings? My mother? There are more?” Yes, Amaya answers. “My Godmother confessed to me before she died that Lucrecia pushed her through the glass partition and that is what caused her death. [AND, Lucrecia stabbed Delores in the heart with a shard of glass!] She burned the plane in which my Father died and also caused the death of my Mother.” Flavia breaks down from the shock and horror of it all. Mauro comforts her. Lu croaks this is not true, that Florencia is alive. “NO. She’s dead because you killed her!” Lu tries to argue with Amaya and tell her she’s crazy. Amaya exposes the plan and Juli bears witness that they made Cesar and Lu think Florencia was alive through the anonymous notes and phone calls. And it was not Florencia that Lu saw, it was Caro! Max is surprised that Juli knew. Yes, she knew and had to remain mum about it so no one else would be at risk.

Amaya turns to Max now. Many times he had asked her why she married Cesar. THESE are the reasons, she says motioning toward Luciferia and son. “I wanted to unmask them and to see justice served and so that the deaths of my Parents and my Godmother would not go unpunished!” Yes. Max even does a beautiful shock and pain! “I distanced myself from my Daughter, from you, from my life, to protect you from them because they were heartless enough to want to destroy you all!”

Amaya now faces Cesar and tells him he didn’t use her, she used him and she paid a VERY high price but finally she gained her objective! She turns on her heel and walks away. Cesar continues to play the incredulous victim of false accusations. He walks toward Mauro saying, “Papa” when Max springs out and pushes Cesar right into an armed security guard. He now takes refuge an act of desperation: violence! Cesar seizes the guard’s gun and points it on Max who shields Mauro! Mauro shouts at him to put it down!

Pt. 3

Cesar sweeps the loaded weapon over the whole audience. Gone is his cool, indignant demeanor. Now he is crazed, running his fingers through his usually carefully gelled hair, his eyes red rimmed and runny. Hey shouts that they are wrong! There is only one killer here and he points the gun at Lu. Lu whimpers that she loves him. Horror lives on everyone’s faces but finally the shocked silence is broken as Max, Jorge, Mauro call to Cesar to try to bring him down and back to reason. Cesar shouts for everyone to back away and he grabs Connie by the hair and drags her up the stairs as the calls for him to stop and let her go become desperate. Manuel and Max charge up the stairs after them! Cesar growls at Connie to shut up and that they all are going to be sorry. Max is going to be sorry for taking HIS Coffee Empire. It’s HIS! Mauro approaches the stairwell. Cesar directs his comments to Mauro. “You didn’t do this alone. Without me you wouldn’t have achieved anything! You are stupid! The next statement I didn’t quite get. Something about Mauro’s (?) giving up everything for a woman who carried a child that wasn’t even his. I DO understand him to accuse Mauro of never having recognized his efforts and having always preferred Max. Max points at himself as if accepting Cesar’s ravings and asking that he take it out on him, not on Connie. Cesar continues ranting that the only thing Mauro succeeded in doing is to awaken his hatred of all his siblings, above all for Max. “You don’t know the pleasure it would give me to see you dead!” He shoots at Max and throws Connie over the balcony. Amaya springs forward and breaks her fall. They both lie injured on the floor. They are both hurt in the fall. As Max and everyone hover around Connie and Amaya, Cesar takes off through the parking garage! Cesar shoots a guard while other armed guards chase him firing shots. An unsuspecting driver approaches. It’s Elo! Cesar pulls the gun on Elo and jacks her car, nearly hitting Jorge. The guards shoot at Cesar but he escapes!

Dr. Marco Antonio declares that Connie is alive but she is unconscious. Vale cradles Amaya’s head. She is hurt but well enough to ask Caro to take her away to the cafeteria. Caro will keep Vale with her and they will follow the ambulance to the hospital. Amaya’s legs and ribs hurt. Max asks Amaya if she’s okay. Despite this, Max is still attentive to Connie who is coming to. She begins calling for Max and her Father cries out, “my baby!” Doc MA sees water has broken! Max holds Connie’s hands and kisses her forehead, telling her he is there!

Mauro glares at Lu who sits still gripping her purse, blubbering. “My son doesn’t love me; go tell him that he has to love me!” Mauro responds that she planted and nurtured a seed of evil in him and that Cesar planned to turn her in to the authorities in exchange for Marco Antonio’s Nescafe shares and the Zona Estella. Lu blubbers that no, her son would not do that to her! He’s her baby, her adoring son who would never betray her, NEVER! Flavia looks down at her literally and figuratively. She asks Mauro what will happen now. He doesn’t know. The authorities will decide. Flavia’s face crumbles into silent sobs and he embraces her as they both cry and Lu looks on, babbling.

Pt. 4

Jorge rushes in with the news that Cesar escaped. Elo is with Jorge. Elo tells Jorge, Mauro and Flavia that Lucio never went to school today and they demand Lu tell them where is Lucio. Lu claims not to know and keeps sobbing for Cesar. Even a Mauro explosion doesn’t make her talk. Elo figures Abel, the Chauffeur, must know. She and Flavia will go to go talk to him; Mauro will stay to wait for the police. Flavia gives Lu one last look and says, “How it hurts me to see what you are capable of!” Lu doesn’t notice. She is lost in a world with a Cesar-shaped hole in it. For her, that is hell (and we are glad!) Jorge tells Mauro that an all-points bulletin has been issued on Cesar! Mauro glares at Lu who keeps repeating “Cuidamos a Florencia.” We took care of Florencia?

Cesar arrives back to the MM and calls the Montesino private pilot demanding that a plane be readied for him like NOW! Of course he threatens and insults him.

Dario comes to get Caro and Vale to follow the ambulance taking Amaya to the hospital. Vale is looking at something in her Dad’s computer. Vale remembers the computer and they take it with them. YES!

Connie arrives at the hospital and is taken immediately to the OR. Max, Manuel and Jorge wait nervously. Doc MA comes out. There has been a serious complication: Connie has suffered internal bleeding and both she and the baby are in a precarious position and the life of one has to take precedence over the other. He tells Max and Manuel that they have to choose between Connie and the baby! Max can’t believe the question. MA reminds Max that the baby is only six months gestational age and they have to choose. At the risk of sounding egotistical, Manuel asks MA to save his Daughter (Connie). Max refuses to choose; he tells MA to do everything he can to save both their lives!

Well, this gala has certainly gone south for Lu who sits rocking and clutching her purse when the police come for her. She says she needs her son and is NOT going with them. One plain clothes and four uniformed officers have to physically force her to get up and go with them while she shouts repeatedly for them not to touch her! As the elevator door closes she calls for Mauro. Mauro and Juli look on, Juli has a pained and Mauro a blank but slightly, very slightly sad expression. Juli asks Mauro if she’s “lost reason”, cracked up. Mauro solemnly says she couldn’t stand being exposed, discovered but most of all the loss of the love of Cesar. “Love?” Spits Julia. “Love is a sentiment Cesar knows nothing about!”

Well, they finally get Lu to the police station where she continues to shout that they shouldn’t touch her and that they should look for Florencia; she’s to blame for everything! Mauro and Juli are at the police station as well. Due to Lu’s ranting and the police official decides she needs an immediate psych evaluation and take her to the medical unit. It’s funny that when the officers finally take their hands off of Lu she voluntarily takes the arm of one tall strapping officer and goes with them to the medical unit. Mauro watches her taken away and turns to Juli: What a horror? What will happen to my children? Max and Flavia will be fine but what about Lucio? Juli suggests they tell Lucio that Lu has gone on a long trip. Mauro wants no more lies in the family! Julie argues that little by little Lucio will forget about Lucrecia. She recalls the (one time) Lu gave Lucio a kiss and he was so excited that his mother loved him! Let him keep that memory! Mauro does not have a comeback.

Pt. 5

Amaya sits upright in her hospital bed thanking God for Lu’s crimes coming to light so that now her family can finally rest in peace: their deaths won’t go unpunished! There’s a gentle knock on the door. It’s Max! He asks how she is, how she feels. She has mixed feelings. On one hand she’s glad for justice being done but sorry how things turned out with so many people hurt: him, Flavia, Constanza. She asks how Connie is doing. Max tells her MA is fighting to save their lives. Amaya says their brother WILL save their lives! Connie and the baby are in the best hands. He came to thank her. If not for her and her intervention he doesn’t think Connie or the baby would have sufficient strength to fight for their lives!

“Thank you so much for your courage and valor. . .”

“To tell you the truth, it wasn’t a plan; it was instinctive.”

“That’s because you are a good person with a good heart; and you have gained all my admiration, all my respect. . .” She asks why he stopped. He says, “I was going to say that you regained my love. . .” Amaya’s face falls. . . “But that wouldn’t be true because you never lost it.” She brightens and the theme song rises to accompany their smiles.

The fight for Connie and Baby Max continues in the OR! Uh oh! Connie’s pressure is dropping!

Cesar, dressed in black in dark shades and his hair back in place, arrives at the airport. He looks around and sees Police who are busy talking. He concludes he can’t leave the country and retreats.

Amaya tells Max she was so afraid that he had stopped loving her; that he never would forgive her all the hurt she caused him. He admits that he also thought he would never be able to pardon her but the reason why she did what she did is greater than any of this hurt and pain. Max is about to go to her but a Caro and Vale arrive. Max excuses himself.

Relish this people. Lu sits on the cot in a darkened and bare jail cell with a death grip on her purse rocking and babbling, “why, why my dear son, why did you leave me? You are the most important thing for me!” The fuzzy, double image of her head tells us she’s crazy, in case we missed it. Just in time we cut out to the public area in the police station where the official tells Juli and Mauro that Lu is very bad, her diagnosis is “Severe Paranoia.” Juli thinks she’s faking to escape punishment. The official thinks she is so disconnected from reality and off balance that this is not the case. Mauro asks what will happen. She will probably get life in a psychiatric hospital. At least that’s what I got out of it. I can’t help thinking upon looking at Mauro’s facial expression that he’s thinking “sucks to be you, Lu!”

Back at the Hospital Continental (and don’t worry about how MA got privileges to operate in a hospital where he’s a stranger. Maybe that’s the way they do it in Mexico). MA comes out and announces to Max and Manuel that they did it! They saved both the baby and Connie! Baby is premature, but fine, and is with the Pediatrician; Connie is in recovery! Hugs and congratulations all around! (Dang, Jorge is tall!)

Pt. 6

Amaya looks so relieved now. She is kind of leisurely looking at Hor’s computer when YES! SHE SEES THE RECORDING! In this recording made moments before the beat down by Max, Hor proclaims that if anything happens to him, the only one responsible is Cesar Montesinos. She runs it forward and sees Cesar hit Hor in the head and sees Cesar sitting down wiping off the killer fish sculpture. “We have proof that Cesar killed Horacio!” Amaya exclaims!

Amaya has called Max and Jorge to her room. First she asks for and gets assurances that Connie and the baby are fine. Amaya shows Max and Jorge the recording at the point where Cesar is wiping off the killer fish. Cesar is Horacio’s killer! They exclaim. They must show it to the police! She backs up to the beginning of the recording and hear Hor confess to, under Cesar’s orders, the burning of ZE, of all kinds of illicit business dealings of which Cesar was the only beneficiary; the infecting with plague of El Deseo along with Aaron Mendez, alias Negro. Jorge takes the computer to the police. They tell her Cesar is on the lam but with this evidence he will be put UNDER the jail house! Later we see that Jorge has shown the police the recording and yes, Cesar’s ass is grass! He’s going straight to prison. It’s only a matter of time!

Cesar takes his last refuge of the day, and hopefully his life at a sleazy strip joint. One of his girls greets him. He needs to stay there a few days. He instructs her to get him a room and don’t tell anybody. Later we see Cesar with his hair messed up again, and we don’t want to know how that happened. But he IS getting his freak on with a full body to body massage from one of the girls. He thinks to himself that Max and Amaya will NOT be happy and get his Empire! They will pay!

Max is finally able to see Connie who is sitting up, looking good. They declare with quiet joy that they are parents. She can’t wait to see him and wants to name the baby after him. Max is honored. Connie wants to know what will happen to Cesar and Lu. He doesn’t want to talk about it. Max agrees that he is sad and this whole mess kind of over shadows the baby. Connie quietly suggests that Max’s knowing why Amaya married Cesar changes things for him. He says yes. Connie asks if Amaya is all right. Yes, she is. Max tells Connie, “You know that I had come to hate her for all that happened, but from what we have just learned, many things have changed. “ Connie asks, “You still love her?” Max answers, “Yes.” Connie swallows as tears escape her closed eyes. A single tear creeps down Max’s pained but beautiful face, a lovely place to freeze the frame.

There! That's my part of Quiero Amarte as far as recapping goes. I loved this show from the first episode and was excited to see it was on hulu and that it had a discussion page. Thank you to Blog Mom for letting us have this space. Thank you to all my friends who helped recap it, Anita, Sara, Kelly, Vivi and Corazon and thanks to the Patio who gave this crazy chick (me) somewhere to talk about this marvelous show.

Thanks to you all. See you in comments and see you for the Grand Finale tomorrow!

:D Lila!

You can feel the love between amaya and max. And see the jealousy on connies eyerolling face. He really wasn't that into her. She knows it. O well all the peices have fallen into place. Looks like lucio has made some new friends. He is so sweet, hard to believe he came from lucresia's lowins (I don't think thats the right spelling), but you know what I mean. Quiero amarta, you eill br missed.

Nina

Quiero Amarta you (will) be missed.

Very nice, Lila! I'll finish up the end tomorrow, but at least we know all the secrets are out. Finally! Give me until Friday night/Sat morning. I "need" (get to) watch again to get the details.

The only thing I found aggravating was the whole "woman or baby" choice. Seriously, Max? I mean, I'm sure it's incredibly disappointing to lose a fetus that far along, but is it really that difficult of a decision? Especially with Manuel standing right there. If we weren't at the end of things, Manuel should have punched Max in the face for even thinking that it'd be ok to let Cons die. Well, maybe the gut. Leave the face alone.

Kelly

Oh, my God! I forgot about Lucio!

Hang on. Be right back!

LOL! That made me laugh Lila that you forgot about poor, lost Lucio. Looking forward to your last bit.

Okay. I meant to include this at the top of part 1 but forgot. So here is how my beloved Lucio's day went!

Remember yesterday instead of brining Lucio to the 3-in-1 Launch at Nescafe, Lucio had him committed to an institution. Elo leaves the gala headed for Lucio’s school because Lu lied and said she had taken him there. Elo meets with the Director of Lucio’s school and learns that Lucio was never in school that day. She fears that Lu has had him committed.

We see Lucio in the yard at the facility with other poor young men, asking for his Tia. Everybody is in his own separate world. No one talks to him. He climbs over a fence and leaves the facility.

There are several painful scenes of him ambling through the streets calling for his Tia, crying and wailing, at one point sitting in a huge, dry ornamental fountain, at another time sitting alone at the curb near a light pole as the camera pans out emphasizing his loneliness, fear and desperation.

Elo and Flavia after the dramatic unmasking of Lucrecia at Nescafe arrive at the institution and discover that Lucio has run away! Flavia and Elo leave and call Mauro to tell him that Lucio escaped and is nowhere to be found! They have alerted the authorities and themselves will look for him in the neighborhood around the institute!

During Lucio’s wanderings he stumbles into some young street artists and accidentally kick over their spray cans of paint. One fears that they will pummel Lucio but they’re good guys! They try to discover where he lives. He doesn’t know his address [Bad move Eloisa, Lucio is intelligent enough to know his address and several cell phone numbers. Your helping him to be dangerously vulnerable. I hope you learn from this!] He doesn’t want to go to his mother: his mother is bad. Lucio tells them he’s thirsty.
They go to their backpacks to get him something to eat and then see if they can help him.

Flavia and Elo meanwhile walk around the environs of the institution showing Lucio’s picture and aking if people have seen him.

Ah! What a relief: Lucio has eaten and he’s joking with the guys! They come to a white wall and give him a can of spray paint. This is a new medium for Lucio and one fine dude [as in guapisimo] shows him how to shake and apply the paint. Oh, I know where this is going and I love it!

Anyway, that’s all we have of Lucio this episode. I love how they worked this out. It was a pleasant surprise like Max with Mr. Clean in prison! Even though she had evil intent, this worked out for Lucio because that violent, chaotic scene at the “gala” would have sent him into a severe crisis. He might have even charged Cesar and. . .I don’t even want to think about it. So, he had some painful moments at the institution and on the streets but it worked out well. Lucio needs to relate to more than his family or other people with disabilities and his talents will now have a broader audience!

Yay! Brilliant recap, Lila. And I loved your last section on Lucio. Yes, we were first led to think those taggers/graffiti artists would hurt Lucio, but they turned out to be really good guys. Love that Lucio has discovered a new way to paint too. Yes, it all worked out as it should. Better that Lucio be out spray painting with these guys, than seeing all the chaos of Lucrecia and cesar's unmasking. He would have really lost it when Connie was thrown over the railings. Yikes! Quick thinking Amaya totally saved Connie and the baby by breaking her fall.

It was painful to see Max and Flavia learn how evil their mother is. It was never going to be easy to reveal the truth to them, but at least they also had the joy of having their father back.

Thanks, Kelly! You take the time you need for the finale. It is our last hurrah and I may want to watch today's and tomorrow's episodes again. And in comments, we want to give this a good send off!

Thank you, Vivi! I love these Writers and the Director, too, if he/she is responsible for how these guys are rendering this story. Today was traumatic and I never dreamed Cesar would do what he did to Connie! Amaya did totally save Connie and the baby's lives! What a gal! I didn't expect Connie to so forthrightly ask Max if this changed things for them and if he still loved Amaya. My, how mature! I can't blame my girl for having fought so hard for Max, even having lied and twisted the truth to keep him. Nobody knew why Amaya was doing what she was doing and under the circumstances, her clingy protection of her relationship with Max made sense.

Well, more later. What a dramatic episode!

Lila,

Your recap was wonderful and written with real love for this clever and original telenovela. I was hooked immediately when I saw that Cristian de la Fuente would be our galan and when I heard that beautiful theme by Armando Manzanero.

I had no idea there would be a regular team of recappers and a host of loyal followers. When exactly did we begin watching? It's been a memorable experience for us and lots of fun.

I am sitting here eating a small plate of crow and a huge portion of humble pie. When there was a crisis with the baby, I thought, "Here comes the moment of truth." But it never came. Obviously, you were all correct all along in recognizing the baby as Max's verdadero offspring. I didn't want it to be, but I'll have to accept it.

In this day and age, people don't get married simply for the baby as they once did. And Amaya had said that the baby was not her reason for rejecting Max. Max will accept Valeria as the offspring of a horrible man, and Amaya will
partner with Max in raising Constanza's baby. Max and Constanza were close friends for many years, and they can be friends again.

Connie is finally accepting reality and becoming more mature. She is a successful career woman, so she is intelligent and capable of being much more independent.

Thanks Lila, for all of your dedication.

The scenes with Lucio were heartbreaking.

Thanks also to Corazon for yesterdays's recap. I was out all day and did not get a chance to comment. You did a Bang UP JOB
for the good of the order.

Already I am disappointed in the Final because of the previews.

Chat later..............

Thank you, Nina! It is your comment above when you said that Lucio had made new friends that made me remember his part in the story today! I wanted to tell his tory separately to not break the flow of the crazy events at Nescafe!

And Vivi, yes, it was painful watching Max and Flavia hear all these unbelievable and dark truths about their mother! This juxtaposed against their father coming back from the dead!

Ah, Lucrecia. Guess she won't be getting anything for Mother's Day, hunh?

Floridia! Dear Floridia! Thank you for your kind sentiments! I didn't know Critian de la Fuente before QA but his magnetism pulled at me through the screen!

My husband and I had family spend the summer with us and the week they were leaving I finally turned over to Uni to see what they were up to. I happened upon the first day of QA and took that as a sign that I should watch it! I loved a show with a mature cast.

Floridia, I am glad they didn't have to let Connie or the baby die for Max and Amaya to be together. I know it's not over yet but I was surprised by and admired Connie's maturity today.

And yes, we won't get into the previews: we don't want to spoil it for ourselves or steal Kelly's thunder but I hear you.

Yes, let's chat later. So glad you joined us on this journey, Floridia! It's been a lot of fun!

Good recap Lila :)

1.) Lu's holding onto the purse real tight & she needs her HAPPY PILLS LOL!

2.) So happy Don Mauro exposed both Lu & Cesar's crimes for everyone to see!

3.) Cesar throwing Connie down like that was scary.

4.) Amaya looked fine in the hospital. Just glad she managed to break Connie's fall.

5.) WhoreAss' apartment LOL! GOOD RIDDANCE.

6.) Lucio made some friends at least he's away from the institution!

7.) The guard should've had backup when he tried to get Cesar out of the building.

8.) Cesar getting his freak on at a strip club ? GROSS!

9.) Don Mauro telling Cesar BASTA was perfect :)!

10.) Felt bad for Flavia to hear all of Lu's crimes.

11.) Happy both Connie & the baby are OK!

12.) Amaya & Max as half-siblings: YIKES! Can you say Mexico's version of Chris & Cathy Sheffield from the novel, If There Be Thorns?

13.) Hoping Don Mauro, Flavia, Elo find Lucio quick!

Steve- Max and Amaya aren't half siblings, but they do share a sibling, so it was funny to hear Amaya say to Max, OUR brother will save Connie and the baby. :)

I'll be back to comment more but just a head's up; there's an alternate ending for this show.

HI, EVERYONE,

My mother lived a healthy life into her 90's. She was GLUED to her inexpensive PURSE
most of her life. She brought it into the bedroom with her every night, and when she went to friends' houses for dinner, she carried the purse with her from room to room--including into someone's dining room for a sitdown dinner. My friend's husband used to tease her about it, but she didn't change her ways.

Many thanks to Corazón and Lila for the last two recaps.

It was very difficult to watch Lucio suffer.

Hey everyone! Man, what a crazy week it's been.

Quiero Amarte reminds me of a novela of yesteryear when the final weeks crank up the tension. Not that this has ever been QA's problem. Like I've said before, since Dolores' death it has not stopped for breath.

Anywho, Mauro's entrance was the highlight for me, definitely. Cesar announcing his power and Mauro telling him to slow his roll. Hilarious!

I'm so glad everything's out in the open now and Max finally knows the monster he has for a mother. Flavia's face during the confessions was heartbreaking, she never expected anything this bad.

I just love that after all the smack Constanza talked about Amaya the only one who strung forward fast enough to save her was her. Poetic justice indeed.

Some of you hate that Lucrecia has descended into madness but this has been one of the better handled crazy storyline because she still was exposed, went to jail, people will talk about her and, most importantly, she will live the rest of her days thinking Florencia is alive and happy and nothing she did was ever worked.

Speaking of justice, Cecilia is jail is satisfying but not as satisfying as Ulises ending. To have run away for so long and now the only thing he can't do is run away. It was a delicious way for him to finish and reminds me a lot of Danilo's (From La Malquerida) own ending.

As for Jose, one final shot at making him sympathetic? I'm only happy Genoveva and Manuel might finally find some peace regarding their child.

Thank you Steve. It WAS an exciting and satisfying episode!

Floridia. I totally get the purse thing -- though I'm not THAT bad -- and if that's a sign of aging (not saying you said so) but if that's a sign of aging, I feel blessed! :D

Thank you, Sara. It was indeed hard to see Lucio suffer. That's why I was going to give him one section all together so everyone could learn that it turned out all right for him. It was a highly unusual celebration. I know that Amaya, Juli, Marco and who else, Vivi, knew that Lu and Cesar were going to be unmasked at the event. Nobody expected Cesar to grab a gun but that was NOT an environment Lucio needed to be in. I think it was clever of the writers to get him out of it and even though there were moments of anguish, he found the opportunity side of the crisis and this will add a new facet to his life. That was cool!

Hey, Superalfie, like your take on the ending thus far. This WAS an exciting novela all the way through.

I remember before we regularly recapped getting on here and going like, "hey, anybody out there? Do you believe what's happening?" Hee Hee! Crazy! Gonna miss QA!

Lila,

Re the purse fetish, my mother had it since she was old enough to own a purse. She sounds looney tunes, but believe it or not, she was very well read, and eventually became a librarian (like Anita) with a master's degree.

She took the purse into the bedroom at night so that the BURGLAR would not get it. I told her that it would be better to leave it by the door for the BURGLAR so that he would not need to INVADE her bedroom, but that suggestion made no impact.

If the BURGLAR had arrived, I suspect she would have wrestled him or her to the floor in defense of her prize possession -- which did not contain much cash at all.

One of my student's was a victim of a home burglary in the night, and the burglar got away with a DIAPER BAG that was by the door.
I've always remembered that and would love to have seen the culprit's face upon discovering his booty.

Sighhh ... gonna miss this tn for sure. Anita, Lila, Sara, Vivi, Corazon, and Kelly - I'm bowing down to you all repeatedly - awesome job on the recaps.

Lila: What Lucrazy said to Mauro as she was sitting there babbling and looking around with her pop-eyed grimace was, "tenemos que cuidarnos de Florencia." She's still expecting Flo to jump out of the woodwork and nail her ass! Nanny, nanny, nanny ... gotcha!

I loved when the graffiti dude asked Lucio if he liked the "tortugas" (tortas) he ate and Lucio answered, at first offended, that he didn't eat any tortugas, then laughed delightedly when he got the joke. Those guys were awesome to him.

Leila

Hey, Floridia, what a neat story! You know, I often leave my purse downstairs but I can't claim to have thought of the burlar line! Had you ever heard the tale that if you leave your purse on the floor, you're sure to always be poor? ;D

Leila! Thank you so much! I couldn't make out what she said and yes, that makes total sense now, "Watch out for Florencia!" Hoo boy. Yah, that's part of her future in hell on earth, isn't it? To think that Florencia and her children survived and are enjoying her riches!

Great story about your mother and her purse, Floridia. :)

I'm so sad this is ending today. I won't get to watch until tomorrow since I'll be out late, but maybe I'll watch it when I get home anyway. Want to see Cesar meet his end, and the happy ending for our main couple. Yay!

Lila: I enjoyed watching Don Mauro getting his swagger back!

Putting Cesar in his place was GREAT!

JUST FINISHED WATCHING EL FIN,

WILL WAIT TO COMMENT UNTIL TOMORROW IF NECESSARY.

THANKS TO ALL RECAPPERS AND COMMENTERS. IT'S BEEN GREAT FUN.

I'll have the recap up tonight after rewatching, but I'm west coast. Sorry. But it stretches out the show as much as possible!

Kelly

Me, too, Florida! Can't wait to talk this over with y'all! It has been fun and I feel weird not to be looking forward to a Monday afternoon. Really need to debreif with y'all!

I TiVo 'd the Gran Final & it was BEAUTIFUL poetic justice!

I'm happy Don Mauro got together with Elo though.

Floridia: I'll be awaiting the recap on today's Gran Final:) !!!!!

Wait, wait this was the last week ??
I thought I had one more week

I guess that's why there were so many anvils
silly me
I was hoping for one more week where I had internet access

anyway thanks all recappers and commenters
I had fun reading

To all recappers. thank you very much for your job well done. Quiero Amarte will definitely be missed. I have wanted to buy the dvd but the reviews were that it had no subtitles English or even Spanish. I can read and understand Spanish but can not catch with hearing it spoken. I thrive to understand it well due to your English recaps too. I am so glad I watch this tn from the beginning till today the ending. Thanks to you. Vivi for recommending that it will be good.
Lila, I read that you don't know Christian very well, I am surprised by this because I always see you participate in most of the tn blogs. Have you seen him in Amor Bravio? this was my first Christian DF telenovela and for me this was his best ever. I also rootefd for him in Dancing with the Stars-ABC. Amor Bravio is for me the best TN as yet. his partner, Silvia Navarro is a match made in heaven and the love scenes were the best ever. Anne

Sara, kelly, lila, vivi, corazon: I curtsey to you ladies. You are exceptional storytellers. If it weren't for your interpretation from spanish to english I would not know how great these tns could be. I am really going to miss these charaters, and the actors themselves. This Is the best I"ve ever seen. The actors were superb. But guys ya'll brought It babies, ya'll brought it. TAKE A BOW!!!!!
Great catch amaya, she saved a mother and her baby.

Connie knew she was fightin a loosing battle. And she losed with grace. Good for her.
Very happy for mauro and Elo, he needed someone to love him the way he deserved, after being in hell for thirty years. Elo finally gets her prince. And what a handsome prince he is. More happiness to come. Thanks kelly :-D for the coming recape.

Nina

Nina: Considering that Cesar had zero intentions of going to prison, he made sure of it with one last insult to Max before Cesar offed himself!

Luc's only friend was the purse!

I've got to give it to Amaya: she saved a mother & baby despite injuring her ribs, etc.,

I'm especially happy for Ivan & Mariana because they are free from stalkers Cecy Goldilocks & Uli (both in prison).

I'm really going to miss these (characters).
Bad spelling→↑

It's got very hot in florida since that storm came by, I'll read the recap tomorrow and the comments. Good night patio people.:-)

Nina

Goodnight Nina!

Friday, El Fin, pt. 1
Brought to you by the loving care of all the recappers and lurkers, who all have better taste in novelas than Univision. Also by whatever that Nescafe stuff is.

-Hospital-
Max cries as he tells Cons that he still loves Amaya. Manuel looks over the gigantic newborn in the Neonatal box thing (I’m not a doctor), telling Max (people move fast in this last episode) the baby looks just like Cons. Amaya is pushed down the hall by Caro and Vale. They wanted to see the baby giant before they leave. Vale asks if this is his son, and wants to hold him. She can’t yet, but then asks if he like el “foot”. Max hopes so, so she can show him how to play. Amaya congratulates him. Manuel is eternally grateful to Amaya for what she did, but she’s naturally happy she could help. She thanks him back for all his help on their plan.

Cons gets to hold her child and fuss over him, and she promises to care for him always. Max promises to care for them both. She tells him he’ll have their support even though they won’t be a family. She promises Max that she’ll make sure the baby always loves him. She knows her life will change, but she’ll do whatever she has to do even though they are saying goodbye. She can’t keep kidding herself, and now has a new reason to fight for whatever life she has even if it’s not with Max.

-Lucio-
Mauro drives around with Juli looking for Lucio in the prettiest part of DF. He tells Juli to slow down as they get near the wall. He sees the wings graffiti’d on the wall and realizes they are Lucio’s work. He touches the wall for a moment and then starts to leave, when we hear Lucio’s voice. “PA!” They bear hug a greeting ignoring all the paint all over Lucio. Lucio says his papa said they’d always be together, and they hug again. Mauro tells him he saw his wings, and Lucio talks about his new friends who taught him to paint with latas (cans). The friends meanwhile have recognized that Lucio has found his people and they’ve left. Lucio talks about his mama being mala, and Mauro tells him she’ll be away and no one will hurt him again.

-Hospital-
Max stops Amaya from leaving to talk to her, now that’s had the talk with Cons. He wants to be with her and can’t wait any longer. He wants to be with her for the rest of his life. She kisses him in acceptance.

-Lucio-
Flavia and Elo drive up and hug Lucio, but mostly Elo does. Lucio cries about his mama, but Mauro reminds him she can’t hurt him anymore. He’d rather have Elo as his mama, tia mama, mama tia. She’d be happy to and Juli tells him he can call her whatever he wants. He’s so happy and calls her mam.

-Airport-
Alan is back! He’s greeted by Juli, Jorge and Alexa. He says hi to everyone and asks who the kid is. Tu hija?, to Jorge. Juli gives him the quick rundown, and Alexa fills in that her mother is in heaven with his father. Juli asks if he;s ok with them all forming a family. He is, and has always wanted siblings like she had. Everyone is happy.

-Church-
Manuel has FINALLY married Genoveva. Everyone claps as they exit the church, and Manuel right away has to check his phone. Mauro takes it away and he can have it back after the honeymoon. Jose is in a good mood, finally, and warmly congratulates his mother, while Cons does the same with Manuel.

-Chiapas-
Mariana has FINALLY graduated, with Amaya, Flavia, and the family of El P watching. She bear hugs the teacher and gives a little speech saying she wants to educate the children who are the future of Mexico. Hats are tossed in the air.

-Jail-
Uli is pushed into his cell and laughed at, while he still thinks about Mariana. He is sad and no one cares. We never have to see him again.

Friday, El Fin, part 2

-Artist Contest-
Lucio stands next to his wings while the judges walk around, looking smart in his suit and bowtie. He wins! He is not a gracious winner. He cheers in excitement while everyone claps for him. His family, including Flavia, is there with him.

-Mauro and Elo-
He gives Elo a necklace and wants to seal the deal with her as novios.

-Chiapas-
Chelo mixes up a jar of Nescafe 3-in-1. We forgive the product placement because they made this show happen. If they’ll support more Carlos Moreno productions so we can hurry up and get another story, we’ll buy some, even though it’s just instant coffee pre-combined with sugar and dry dairy stuff, and can’t possibly be better than brewed Chiapas coffee.

Heriberto has stopped Flavia (back and forth and back and forth) and Mauro to tell him his intentions are serious. Mauro asks if they are in love. Heriberto tries to talk himself up, saying he’s a hard worker, and will do whatever it takes to make Flavia happy even though he’s just a worker. Mauro stops him. The worth of a person isn’t in what he has but in who he is. He only wants happiness for his kids, and if they make each other happy, then go for it (more or less).

Mauro leads Amaya outside to a sculpture of what looks like a giant mirrored or chromed engagement ring (the value of which-and Max’s taste in sculpture- can be discussed). He tells her that with her he’s discovered his reason for being. They’ve had many obstacles but despite it all, they kept loving each other. He brings up the justice for his family, but he never could have forgotten her. They’re love is stronger than ever because they’re both sure it’s real and it’s survived. (ISBIS). He pulls out a real ring and proposes. She says no. Ha! Kidding. She wants to be with him the rest of her life. They kiss.

-DF Looney bin-
Max and Flavia (back and forth) go to see their mother, who is still clinging to her giant purse. She doesn’t know who they are. She laughs at them calling her mother. She searches through the purse and cries “nada. Nada. Nada…” She looks freaked that there’s nothing in there and at them, and she scampers away. Flavia wants to follow but Max stops her, and she cries.

-Chiapas-
Amaya and Mariana visit the gravesite of Dolores, which Amaya promises her she’ll keep up as she kept up the graves of her parents all those years. They thank her for all that she did, and wish she could be with them, but at least they got justice. Mari asks Amaya to be her kid’s madrina, which Amaya will do with the teaching of her own madrina, Dolores.

-DF Mental Institution-
Cesar has snick in wearing scrubs and a doctors mask to see Lu. He thinks she’s kidding and asks about her plan to escape. She wants to be left alone. He tells her who he is, but she panics again and laughs at him. He realizes she’s not faking. He looks her in the eyes to convince her that he’s her son, Cesar. It’s not working, so he hugs her and leaves. She suddenly remembers him and goes after him, but it’s too late. The door is closed and he can’t hear her as he walks away.

-DF restaurant-
Mauro has taken out to dinner, and Elo’s hair is FINALLY down. He hands her a flower and she sees a ring in it. She says it isn’t necessary, but he disagrees. He wants her to be his wife. She never thought she’d hear those words from him. He wants to be with her until the last second of his life, and she agrees since she’s loved him since they met. He’s already talked to the lawyer and the divorce will be final soon, so when does she want to get married? As soon as possible! They toast with locked arms, and get up to dance while Armando Manzanero sings and plays “Dormir Contigo” on the piano.

Friday, El Fin, part 3

-DF mental hospital-
Lu and her purse sing a terrible aria for the other inmates, and they clap for her when she’s done. She looks happy. Elo has come by and brought her favorite cookies. She doesn’t know what happened to Lu’s mind, but is glad she’s not suffering. She reaches out to her and Lu sees the ring. She tries to take it off Elo’s finger and demands it from her. Elo says she’ll buy her one, but she can’t have this one. Lu accuses her of always wanting what she had- her husband, her family, and she thinks Elo put her in here to get it. Elo sadly says no, and thinks it’s best if she leaves. She says goodbye in a way that sounds permanent, turns to look at her one last time, and walks away.

-Nescafe offices-
Amaya makes some Nescafe 3-in-1 (maybe buy some for camping when your standards are lower), while wearing a kicky black dress that looks totally inappropriate for the office. She, Caro and a couple of secretaries talk up the product.

Cesar and his doc mask have driven into the parking lot. Everyone inside is starting a presentation (guess that explains the dress), but suddenly there’s an explosion (caused by Cesar? Probably). They all evacuate through the parking lot, and Cesar is spotted! Max, who has learned nothing at all, runs off for his car and drives after Cesar, through streets of DF. Cesar stops somewhere and runs inside and up the stairs, with Max chasing him. Cesar gets of a few shots at Max, but nothing hits and he finally gets to the roof. Cesar realizes he has nowhere else to go, and only one bullet left in the gun. Max tries to convince him it would be best to turn himself in. Cesar thinks Max is an idiot for thinking he’d do that. “One less crime is less time in prison”, Max tells the guys who will already spend life behind bars, trying to convince him not to shoot. Cesar tells Max that he’s to blame for this. He climbs onto the ledge of the building. Max tells him not to do anything. Cesar again declares Max responsible for this, and he shoots himself in the head. He falls off the ledge to the ground below. Max, for some reason, looks upset.

-Day, night, volcano, Angel of Independence-
Marco has come by the hospital jail to give Lu some news. She doesn’t want it. He tells her that “nuestro” hijo (he still claims Cesar as his son, because he would) has gone. Where?, she asks. Lu realizes he’s dead and is very upset. Mauro has to get a chair for her so she can sit down, but at least she still has her purse. Because she sure doesn’t have anyone else. Mauro gives her one last look, and leaves too. Then we see him at Florencia’s crypt, maybe saying goodbye to her too?

-Various scenes-
Mauro gives a presentation, talking about all the changes in the family and in the company. He’s convinced that the new people at the business are honest and will be dedicated to developing themselves as they work to maintain the reputation of the Nescafe product. (Buy some so we can get another Carlos Moreno show).

Amaya and Max give Vale the notice that they’re having a baby.

Ivan takes Mariana to the new house he bought. They finally have their own property!

Amaya, Vale, and Caro are at the finca, right before bedtime. Amaya couldn’t be happier that all the suffering is in the past. Caro is going for it with Dario, and Amaya calls her soul sister for all her support. Mariana joins the fun.

-El Paraiso-
Wedding day! Mauro walks Amaya down the aisle (white lacy dress with colorful embroidered flowers sprawled over the bodice and the edge of the veil). Rings, coins, Catholic rope thing. Wedding stuff. They looks into each others eyes and Amaya says “Quiero amarte siempre”. Besos! And fin.

I’m already having withdrawal.

Kelly

I had to choose the pizza three times to prove I'm not a robot. Now I'm starving. I'm off to eat something and I look forward to chatting about this over the weekend! And what's that about an alternate ending?

Kelly

There is an alternate ending. Gimme a sec.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E2F77dxOMNo

Kelly- Yay! Excellent final recap. I haven't watched yet, but couldn't resist reading first. Will be back later to discuss.

Kelly: Mauro visited Cesar's crypt NOT Florencia's.

KELLY,

I waited eagerly for your recap and you did a super job with all the details along with a dose of humor.

I knew the gist of what Constanza was saying to Max, but I found it difficult to understand her amidst her crying. You clarified anything I missed.

You surprised me with two parts
that were completely left out of my viewing:

1. I saw no airport scene showing the return of Alan.
2. There was no finca scene the night before the wedding with Caro et al.

I double checked the name on the crypt. Don Mauro with great anguish and a mild pounding on the tomb, paid his last respects to the person that was his "son Cesar."

I would have liked more concentration on Max and Amaya, and think the episode was worthy of a two hour final. They covered many wonderful events, but it was too rushed for my liking....especially the part about expecting a baby.

Don Mauro was shown as the leader of his family and the vibrant leader of his empresa. Above all, he was portrayed as a LOVER.

The highlight for me was his evening with the beautiful and charming Eloisa, the true mother of Lucio, Flavia and Max, and the most fabulous surprise of all for me was the return of Armando Manzanera serenading the lovers as they danced. WOW! Don Mauro is not wasting a moment of time:
DORMIR CONTIGO!!!

Here's the song as sung by the composer,

Dormir contigo es el camino mas directo al paraíso

Sabes que duermes mientras te beso y las manos te acaricio

Dormir contigo es navegar en una estrella hacia el espacio

Es embriagarme con el susurro de tu hablar tierno y despacio

Dormir contigo …………………………..

The song ended here. The rest
FYI is below.

amor..... dormir contigo....

One more thing, Max and Amaya exchanged three rings interwined:
gold, silver, and diamond bands --
intriguing.

Anxious to hear all comments ..

All the best,

Thank you, Kelly! Got to go back and read your recap. Been hanging out on the Sombra patio. Be back once I've read it.

Anne. I had never heard of Cristian de la Fuente and I missed Amor Bravio. It was on hulu+ for a while and I thought I could leisurely watch it and follow the recaps but darn it all, they took it off! I have kicked myself ever since! I hope they rebroadcast it in its entirely some day!

CORRECTION:

Armando MANZANERO

Kelly, thank you indeed for your wonderful recap which was, indeed, detailed and humourous.

Thank you Floridia for I can just say ditto to everything you said! I didn't see the two scenes you mentioned, either, and I think this probably WAS a two hour finale which Uni shortened. Shame on them! I definitely felt it jump in places and was very rushed. That makes me sad. It was a great show. So unfair to chop it up at the end.

I'm not a fan of alternate endings so I'm afraid to watch. I may later, but I wonder if the alternate ending isn't just the bits that were cut out? I guess there's one way to find out!

Anyway, I'm glad how everything turned out. They DID play the crazy card with Lu. I guess it's easier to have the kids sad that their mom has cracked up than hate her because she was a cold, evil, calculating witch. So they're going to leave her in the manicomio, never to visit again. They added to Lu's hell by having her recognize Cesar after he had left. In the only true sign of affection he's ever shown, he was truly moved when he cried and kissed his mother goodbye. And that WAS a cruel slap at Max to shoot himself in the mouth (the sound of which Uni blocked) so Max could see him fall to his death with his head squashed like a melon, below.

It would be just like Mauro to refer to Cesar as "our son" and visit his grave.

Damn. How do you get over such a life of trauma. Anyway. It's over. Thank you Nina for your praise and appreciation of the recappers. If we're great story tellers it's because of what we have to work with and our care for all of you, the "patio." More later perhaps.

One more thing. The way the grafitti artists quietly bowed out and Lucio's painting the angel wings, it made me think they might have been angels.

Also, before Mauro reunited with Lucio he recognized Lucio's wings on the wall and he stood there for a moment with them perfectly placed to look as if they were HIS wings. I hope this alternate ending doesn't have Mauro dead.

Yikes! :(

Lila,

I was thinking the same thing about Cesar and that sole moment of affection. Tragic and creepy.

REMINDER:

Lifetime's Devious Maids is bringing in a telenovela star for its upcoming third season.
Cristian de la Fuente has boarded the Marc Cherry dramedy as a
SERIES REGULAR. The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The actor, whose stateside roles include Royal Pains and CSI: Miami, will play a mysterious character who has had a past relationship with one of the series' central maids.
See more Broadcast TV's Returning Shows 2015-16
While specific details about his character are being kept under wraps, executive producer Sabrina Wind previously indicated that Rosie's (Dania Ramirez) husband Ernesto would likely have a major role in the show's third season after the character was revealed to be alive at the conclusion of the show's sophomore run.
_________________________________

If I watch another, TN, I will be strictly a lurker. I don't want to get too involved in another one at least at this time. BUT I do plan to follow Cristian in his new role. He's the only galan that appeals to me now. I've watched DM only a couple of times until now.

Alternate ending to QA

Well, here are two things about the so-called alternate ending. Here's an excerpt from an interesting article I found on QA dated May 13, 2014 from examiner.com

"Apparently Max becomes “in love” with Amaya after saving her from drowning and caring for her while she was trying to escape from her cheating husband. Nothing happens but apparently Max and Amaya are now in love.

Forward a few months later and Amaya marries Max’s brother in the name of “revenge”, sacrificing the “love” she said she had for Max. Amaya’s character lost a lot of credibility with many fans because of this.

Faithful telenovela watchers of Quiero Amarte, have taken to social media to have their voices heard. For weeks now, they have been stepping up the ante in their quest to have Max live happily ever after with his first girlfriend, Constanza.

Constanza, who has since moved in with Max and pregnant with his child, is not perceived as an actual villain. Most fans would agree that she was actually a victim of intrigue by her former lover and professor. A lie that separated the true love that Max and Constanza had for one another they claim."

Source: Televisa’s Quiero Amarte telenovela fans cause a flurry on social media
http://www.examiner.com/article/televisa-s-quiero-amarte-telenovela-fans-cause-a-flurry-on-social-media

Well, apparently viewers can tweet all they want but the story is what it is. I found no evidence of any alternate ending with Connie winning Max. A brief tour of You Tube, however, prooves that the finale we got yesterday was edited. At some point I want to watch the YT version.

Now. I watched the link you provided, Corazon but that is not an alternate ending, it's a PSA showing that the principal actors in QA respect and value children and people with "different abilities." It starts with Lucio, Flavia, Elo and Juli all in character. Lucio is covering one of his murals of wings with white paint. The sound is bad but I think he's saying he's free, he's liberated now from the evil of Lucrecia and Cesar and he doesn't need the wings to fly away anymore. The actor then comes out of character and speaks for himself what an honor it was to play Lucio and he hopes it communicated how much he loves and values people like the character he portrayed. The actors who portrayed Lucrecia and Cesar come out as themselves as well and speak words of similar import which is heart warming and a little surreal! They all greet each other with warm embraces and toast all children who are differently abled. Not sure why they called it an alternative ending. It was classy, though and I thnk you for providing the link!

That was the Alternate Ending?

I usually hate watching those!

Watching now. Cried like a baby during the Lucio, Mauro scene in front of the wings. Any time the Lucio has painted wings, only he or Mauro, or the two together are ever framed in the wings. No one else. Last time it happened we wondered if it meant one of them would die in the course of the story. So glad that didn't happen.

Anyone else notice Juli was wearing a version of the three tone dress we have so far only seen in green-pink-white in five other tns? Hers is black-gold-white.

Tia Eloisa with her hair down= HOT!

Lila- What you describe sound more like and addendum than an alt ending.

If Uni was going to cut two scenes out to make the finale fit, they should have cut the two product placement scenes. In any case, the DailyMotion video quality is better than what I've seen in YouTube. Here is part two of the finale that starts with the cut airport scene, and also contains the other cut scene: http://tinyurl.com/k58vf6p

Kelly- Thank you again. Big thanks to the rest of the small recapping team for starting this little group up and keeping it going, especially team captain, Anita. Lila, Sara, Corazon- I always looked forward to your recaps and you never disappointed.

I really enjoyed this tn, even during the dark days of Amaya's marriage to Cesar and Max's heartbreak. Carlos Moreno always puts together a star team and I always enjoy his tns.

I really loved the performance of the Lucio actor and cannot believe I didn't even see him nominated in the young actor category for this year's awards.

I was happy with all the villains' ends. Lucrecia wailing over her baby (Cesar) while clutching her purse was pitiful.

Most of all, I was happy with the outcome for the people we liked, and even those we didn't like (Jose and Connie). I envision as thriving future for Nescafe in the future will all the talented family members involved, from field to factory. Mauro will be a happy man till the day he dies, with the loving Eloisa by his side, and surrounded by grand and great-grand children.

Vivi- Are we suuure Juli's dress was black and gold? Maybe it's the dress trick all over again. Or maybe they realized that green and pink (that I just saw the other day!) is not nearly as nice.

Thanks for pointing out that Mauro was at Cesar's tomb. I missed that. They moved things pretty quickly here in the end and the eyes couldn't keep up.

I liked how they ended it, and am glad we didn't have to see Cons get back with Sal. I was a little worried about that. She'll find someone after she gets herself together.

Now how do we get Hernan Canto (Lucio) and award? That video was nice of all the actors talking about the developmentally disabled, and giving Lucio a major role without discounting him as a person. Of course, the family had plenty of money to tend to his needs and a Mama Tia who could devote all her time to him. Still. It's a psa we can all get behind.

I'll be looking for the next Carlos Morena story, that's for sure!

Kelly

Kelly girl you hit a home run again. You know I thought that may have been cesar's tomb. Heart braking, he loved him as much as he loved max flavia and lucio. That was his child, to hell with biology. When he went to tell lu, she had no sense of reality.she took everything from people and now she has nothing and no one, except that "EMPTY BLACK BAG". Thats her life.

I think max looked upset because like mauro he loved cesar too. You can be angry with people and still love them, you just don't like them.

The composer of the song queiro amarta, I hope they do some more tns around his songs, they are so romantic. And let those writers and directors be in charge of it. I loved quiero amarta. And that sweet voice singing the opening credits, superb.

Kelly- the way you discribed the wedding ceremony was rather funny "the catholic rope thing" LOL. And the giant baby, he was probably 9lbs. Thats a big O baby, more of him to love, LOL. OK I'll talk more later.gotta find something cold. It is hot here. Comment, reply, talk amongs yourselves, I'll be back. ;-)

Nina

Kelly- LOL about the dress. :)

Hi, Vivi! Yes, as I said, that is NOT an alternate ending as Corazon advertised it and as the video itself claims. Don't know if you ever saw the bad seed, but at the end of that the actresses that played the mother and the little killer 10 year old came out as themselves and acted out a little pretend scene where the mother actress spanked her killer "daughter." That movie was made in 1956 and I'm sure that was done to ease the fears and discomfort of the audience at seeing a child serial killer and having the mother do what she did at the end. I won't spoil it in case anyone hasn't seen it. It is a GREAT movie. That's the feel of it anyway. To have the characters break through the fourth wall to reassure a "shaken" audience that all is well.

Thanks for the DM clip, Vivi. I hope it's not tilted like the YT clips. That is VERY distracting!

I really liked this novela, too, Viva. I don't care what the ratings were in Mexico or America, it was a damned good show!

What do y'all think about the uproar in Mexico that Max should have stayed with Connie? Not in the sense of comparing the two audiences, but just the whole issue of was Connie a villain or was she a victim of Sal and maybe even of Amaya?

For myself, I wonder if I need to change my thinking of these as love stories. Maybe I should see them more as murder and intrigue mysteries which incidentally have several tiers of love stories in the background. This way I won't be frustrated to see the main couple spend 95% of the novela estranged or even hating each other. The little that Max and Amaya were together nowhere matched the time Max and Connie were together. It didn't make sense! Yet, they tried their best to make Connie/Max look very unsatisfying to us, with her clinginess and all. Max looked as he was just a little north of tolerating her and that was VERY unsatisfying. I just don't understand the seeming need to create tension, longing and frustration in the audience as well as the main couple.

Anyway. My 2 cents. If Max and Amaya was the end game, we and they deserved more time together.

I never saw Connie as a villain (just annoying). Nor did I see her as a victim of Sal. Both she and Sal chose to jump to conclusions based on flimsy evidence and on what they BOTH wanted to see. He didn't make anything up. He just looked for what he wanted to find, and found it. And no one forced her to dump Max at the altar with not hearing his side of things. From the very beginning of the tn Connie was a bit spoiled, self-centered, and jealous and insecure. She needed to work on herself to become a better/stronger person who could stand on her own two feet, and that's what the writers gave her. Apart from whatever was going on with Max and Amaya, that was the journey Connie needed to take.

I was never as mad at Amaya as others were about her marrying Cesar and breaking Max's heart in order to carry out her plans. Do I think it was a great plan? No. But Amaya paid for it with emotionally and physically (the rape), and that's more than the pound of flesh the audience might have demanded in my mind.

And she wasn't wrong about Max's reaction to learning the truth about his mother. 1) It took a LOT for him to believe his mother was a cold-blooded murderer. He really only believed it because it came from his father's own mouth. 2) Had she continued her relationship with Max, Cesar would have put his plans to kill Max into action. And 3) Learning his mother was a murderer did break Max's heart. Amaya was not wrong to believe that what she did both protected Max emotionally and physically, and kept him from ruining her plans because his first reaction would have been to give the whole thing away by being unbelieving or going straight to the accused (Lu and Cesar) to confront or ask them if it's true. Even Juli later realized Max would not be a good undercover team player.

Vivi- Totally agree about Constanza. if she was a victim, it was of her own bad choices, starting with staying in Mexico. There was no reason (that we were given) that she needed to stay there with her father. She could've gone to Italy with Max and come home when she wanted, or gone to visit him any time. She had the resources to do this, but decided to take the easy path and just wait for him to come to her. Her choices; her consequences. But I'm glad they gave her a slow turnaround at the end. She still has some work to do, but at least she's prepared to do it.

The young man that played lucio, should have gotten an award. He was very, very good at playing a handycapped young man. I saw the alternant ending, I didn't know what they were saying until I read what lila said up there. At the time I didn't it know It was another ending. With cesar offing himself was better. And thats my thinking on it. All in All, it was a good telenova. From here we go to maybe, la sombra.....? we'll see.

Nina

Amaya was right in not letting max know anything. He was a hothead. He didn"t think before moving, thats why he ended up in jail. He would have messed up the plan. Amaya managed to expose the bad guys and get him out of a life sentence. She saved his but."Thats right you'll spend the rest of your life Loving her". And then he put a ring on it. O Happy, Happy, Happy day.

Nina

My favorite moments overall on Quieri Amarte:
1.) Free Mariana!

2.) Free Lucio.

3.) Cesar's selfie at Whoracio's crypt

4.) The Slap: Connie slapping Amaya, Juliana slapping Lucrecia resulting in her Martini being spilled & Amaya slapping Cesar at Whoracio's funeral.

5.) Don Mauro & Marco Antonio having lovely father & son moment!

6.) Jorge meeting his daughter.

7.) Juli & Amaya teaming up for "Mis Planes"!

8.) Lucrecia's AWFUL singing, I actually covered my ears!

9.) Flavia going from stuck-up & buji to good hearted later on in the TN.

10.) Manuel & Geo getting married!

11.) Ivan & Mariana being together & free from psycho stalkers Cecy Goldilocks & Uli!

12.) Tearful sibling love between Amaya & Marco Antonio.

13.) Justice for Florencia & Dolores!

14.) Satisfied with the anvils for Lucrecia & Cesar!

15.) Don Mauro pulling a Maury Povich on Cesar: "YOU'RE NOT MY SON!" during the confrontation at Nescafe!

16.) Best friends for life: Amaya & Caro!

17.) Amaya & Max finally getting together & being married!

18.) Happy for Elo, who got her prince, Don Mauro!

Great perspectives, Vivi and Kelly. It seems there were many in Mexico that felt differently but I think you all make solid points about Connie's choices.

Nina and others, just so you are sure, that 4 minute clip is NOT an alternate ending! It has nothing to do with how the story ended, it was just the very real people who played the characters of Lucio, Mauro, Flavia, Julia, Elo, Lucrecia and Cesar being themselves and supporting the quest for respect and inclusion into society for ALL people, whatever their ability.

Whoever posted that video doesn't know what the word "alternate" means. To my knowledge, no other ending for Quiero Amarte exists!

:D

Glad you found so many things to be pleased about, Steve. It was a great show!

Everyone says that Adriana should have been the lead instead of Karyme (which does make sense; Karyme as the protagonist was mega random in my opinion.)

Anita, Vivi, Sara, Lila and Kelly- I tip my hat to you gals for all your hard effort in these recaps.

BRB.

Lila- I apologize for the confusionabout the PSA haha.

I think Karyme better pulled off being a mature woman and the mother of a 10-11 year old than Adriana would have.

Oh and I had no problem whatsoever with Karyme as the lead (she played it forward. Someone on the blog said this is her meatiest role; I agree but right after Barbara in El Manantial and Azul anytime she went buckwild all over Diego in Amar sin Limites.)

Thank you, Dear Corazon! I know you have recapped before and this has been one of my first gigs. I respect even more what you and others do in keeping the fans up to date on these entertaining shows!

No problem with the link and I hope I didn't sound accusatory. Didn't mean that at all! Actually, it would be horrifying to see an alternate ending. Just my opinion!

Hola,

Constanza was billed as a Co-Protagonist for the telenovela,
so she could not have been a villain.

I never wanted any harm to come to her, but the writers had me fooled into thinking she was carrying Sal's baby. Come to think of it, Sal's role was pretty lame.

I liked Karyme as the lead in spite of the fact I was angry with her. I never saw her before, but I thought she played her role realistically in spite of some of the things she was required to do.

I think she and Max made a beautiful couple, but as Lila said, their moments were few and far between. I'm tired of the formula: a little love in the beginning, middle and end, and all turmoil everywhere in between. I may be giving up on them, but they have served me well for several years. I have truly enjoyed them.

With this novela, I was introduced to José Elías Moreno and Diana Braccho, and that was all worth it.
I was hooked from the beginning by C dela F and Armando Manzanero and the theme. AM was/is José José's mentor and friend, and now the latter, as I said before, is my singing idol. His songs have helped me tremendously in learning Spanish. BTW, JJ had a very productive week in Mexico:
he earned the very first star in the Cuernavaca Morelos, Paseo de la Fama, he shared a concert midweek with Cristian Castro, and last nite he had his own concert for 4000 people in Michoacan,
Palacio del Arte.

Lyme'a disease had paralyzed the left side of his face, and he could not sing for a number of years. While his voice is not the same as it once was, his fans adore him, and he is unique.

I agree the actor playing Lucio should have earned an award.
I was not sure what his disability was. They referred to it in the PSA as Autism-- which has many forms. Many autistic children do not have mannerisms like those of Lucio.

Vivi is excellent at making lists.
Here are some suggestions for her.

1. What actually did Amaya accomplish by marrying Cesar? Was she responsible for pushing Lulu into madness through the ruse of Florencia? Could she have done that without marrying Cesar?

2. What crimes did not come to light i.e. 2 accidental killings and Emma's demise? Are there more, and does it even matter?

I wanted the Gran Final to highlight the children. There was so much potential there. I wanted to see all of the children playing and frolicking out at the finca.
I especially wanted to see more of Florencia and see her playing with little Alexa. They are both adorable. I think we got short changed.

And when did Amaya get pregnant?
Was that pregnancy news a projection into the future, or did the event occur immediately after reuniting with Max and before the wedding? And there was no final romantic scene. It's a good thing the writers gave us the Armando M. thrill at midpoint.

The end definitely needed polish.
They made all their main points, but I wanted more.

Thanks again to Anita, Sara, Kelly, Vivi, and Corazon, and any other recapper I missed. I believe Lila started the ball rolling single handedly and then Anita stopped by. How did that all come about? Thanks Anita for all of your big Monday editions.

All the best to all,

Hi, Floridia! Love your post.
Re Connie. It's funny. She was so clingy as I said many times, that I thought they would surely have to kill her to get her away from Max. It NEVER occurred to me that she would acknowledge how different things were once the truth came out and voluntarily leave Max free to go with the woman he loved! Didn't see that coming! They did a good job keeping this secret with the very use of Constanza's possessiveness! But there you go!

Ditto to your entire paragraph on Karyme!

Floridia. I can't for the life of me understand why someone can't come along a make an intelligent, more lasting relationship in a novela between two people with dynamite chemistry. My first exposure was in La Fea. I couldn't believe it! Instead of giving the people what they want, you get pulled along by the nose in hopes that in the next, or the next, or the next episode you get what you want. Carrot and stick. Insulting and frustrating.

I'll have to listen to more JJ. My first introduction to him was as Lety's father in La Fea and I couldn't believe he was a famous singer. Maybe I'm no judge of acting but I thought he was perfect and very believable in that role.

Re Lucio, yes, I heard them during the show say it was autism. His mannerisms in behavior and voice are very familiar to me. He did a WONderful job!

The end definitely needed polish. They made all their main points, but I wanted more

Amen, Floridia! Thank you so much. I know I signed on early to recap but I don't think I proceed Anita. She had the rights to put up the header and she's a beloved vet here on in The Caray Nation.

Hey! Where is Anita anyway!

:D

*I don't think I precede Anita.

About that so-called second ending, I never thought it was. It seemed more like a promo for handycap people. And that was only after I read the Interpratation from spanish to english. But I think it ended the only way it could, seeing how these two behaved themselves. In light of that it was a horribly good ending.

Nina
PS thanks to all the recappers.

Happy Mother's Day!

Kudos to Anita for all that she did with this TN. She mentioned the other day that she was having company,so I presume that she is occupied with them.

Lila, re, José José, I watched only bits of La Fea and of course the ending. At that time, I had no idea who José José was. I learned about him 3 years ago.
You can find many of his songs on youtube; that's how I started, and now I own 19 albums. For starters, you can look for La Nave del Olvido and El Triste, the 2 songs that catapulted him to fame back in 1970. Then you can find his 1985 Acapulco concierto online as well. I have the video.
I follow all his press conferences. I learn about him and Spanish at the same time. He is a terrific actor and a fascinating person.
I also read his autobiography.

Lila, is your email posted? I have the addresses of Vivi, Sara, and Anita, and I suppose I could get your address through them.

I don't plan on posting much more.
I've covered everything, but I'll be checking on Monday for followups. Thanks again.

Thank you, Floridia and please do get my email from Vivi, Sara or Anita. I would like that! It has been so wonderful to meet you, Floridia. I have not forgotten my pledge to get off my linguistic duff and overcome my fear of actually speaking Spanish! Maybe I need to find some Spanish speakers who are as skiddish about speaking English as I am about Spanish and we can help each other!

Never a goodbye, just a hasta la pròximo!

:D

Happy to connect you two, Floridia and Lila. Floridia, please don't forget to email us when your book is up on Amazon.

Thanks, Vivi and

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all who are MOMMIES and to the MOMMIES of ALL!

WE <3 MOM )))))))))))))))!!

Just peeking in. So sorry to have missed watching the last three days with you. I had to do it in bits and pieces. It felt very chopped up to me, but maybe it was how I had to view it. Everybody ended up happy (?). So, Constanza's baby WAS Max's, I guess, but she and Amaya made their peace and will be good co-mothers.

Did I hear right--it just seemed it was something said in passing that Amaya was already pregnant?

I'll try to get through all the comments in the next couple of days and be back with more comments.

Thank you ALL, for sticking with Quiero Amarte. It may be shown again in the future and those viewers will surely be using our recaps to help them.

We will be reaching 200 comments before long, so don't forget to go to newer->newest.

Also, when we fall off the front page, you can access all the recaps from the QA feed on the left sidebar.

Saludos a todos.
Anita

200! Lila- Check out Meetup groups for Spanish. I go to one in town. It's totally casual, they have different events for different levels of Spanish, and some of the people who go are native speakers. It's a really good way to force yourself to actually speak real conversations, and not just yell at characters on the tv.

Kelly

Thanks, Kelly! Is that online or real live people! Great tip!

Woah! Now that my feelings have been processed, I have to say I really loved this ending.

Carlos Moreno does do the best novelas and I have to say, I love this trend of the secondary women not having to die because the main couple is someone else.

In Amor Bravio, Miriam got to live happily ever after and now Constanza does too and, in the meantime, gain the independence she needed.

While some things were rushed, everything was already in place before the finale. All we needed was Lucrecia and Cesar's final confrontation and Max and Amaya, I think we got both in spades.

The proposal scene was amazing and so was the wedding.

I loved Lucrecia's crazy train with the knowledge that she lost her son, Florencia's alive (in her mind) and everyone is happy without. It was pathetic to see her clutch that purse and cry for the only thing she loved in this world.

Once again, equally satisfying was Ulises' ending, man, did he look pathetic pining for Mariana without the ability to ever run away. Cecy is probably equally pathetic pining for Ivan in the loony bin.

Chelo and Hector's declaration was equally sweet.

I think it was me who said this was Karyme's meatiest protagonist role because nothing will ever be as good as her Barbara from El Manantial. But compared to Fatima and Azul (man was ASL terrible) Amaya gave her the best range and she stepped up.

I don't know why anyone wanted Constanza & Max as endgame because I did not see the chemistry. Despite all the fighting there might have been between them, Cristian and Karyme hit it out of the part every time.

While the plan itself wasn't as successful and Amaya needed outside help, it would've have never worked with Max involved. ITA with Vivi.

Now that La Malquerida finished and now QA I have no idea what to watch next. Two good novelas all around in less than a year, I've been lucky. Hopefully, YNCELH is next!

Lila- Real live people! The night I go, we meet in a Spanish restaurant, at the same table each time. They know us. Other nights, they'll go to a Mexican restaurant or somewhere appropriate. It's mostly just for conversation. Some people speak better than others, but it's all very friendly and casual. Helps to learn in a low-pressure environment, but still be speaking the way people normally do. I have yet to hear someone yell "no puede ser!".

Kelly

Hey, Superalfie. I enjoyed this novelo, too. I think if I am able to remove the romance as the main draw and theme of the story, I'm less likely to get frustrated when the galan spends 95% if his time with the character we all KNOW he's NOT going to end up with and with whom he has NO chemistry. Hopefully one day there will be another Pasion where the main couple were together throughout and fought the baddies together.

Sombra is engaging and, at times, controversial. I'm hoping this couple will spend time together because goodness knows they've got enough baddies to fight off as they defend their right to love.

Anyhoo, unless a totally awesome show (as declared by several Caray vets) comes to the 3 o'clock slot, I am happy to get some stuff done around my house and in my yard! It's been a fun ride!

:D

Since la rosa de guadalupe is going to be two hours for at least the next month (there was a break between LMdV and QA) I'm going to watch Cuando Me Enamoro for the first time, another Carlos Moreno gem I missed the first time around, and wait to see what happens.

Pasion was definitely an anomaly but once again, QA separated the main couple for a valid reason, at least for something more original than a rumor or a stolen kiss from someone else.

Glad to see your enjoying LSDP! EM is one of my favorites and I'm happy to see the remake has introduced the story to a new generation of novela viewers.

You guys looking out for the next afternoon tn, give the rest of us a shout out when it's about to start.

Superalfie- Where are you watching CME? TV, dvd, online? Interesting time to start watching it with Imperdonable, another version of the story, about to start.

Same here, I regularly don't watch live tv so I might miss a promo!

Vivi - Online, youtube has the whole novela (yay!).

I heard about Lo imperdonable and I am not looking forward to it at all. Salvador Mejia is a horrible producer, ABC doesn't float my boat that much, Grettel Valdez is doing her best Maria impression and Sergio Sendel has lost any appeal in the last five years for me anyway.

Also, a remake of LM not even five years after CME is a horrible idea but at least CME fuses LM with an original story so it doesn't feel remotely like LM at all, it's a brand new story with strokes of LM.

And I saw LM (it was more hype than substance) and LI is following the story closely so it'll feel too much like something I've seen.

Did you hear CME? I hear very good things except maybe the Marina debacle lol

I really enjoyed CME. I hope you like it.

I liked it, too, Superalfie. I did my absolute debut recap for CME! Ahhh, memories!

:D
