Lo Imperdonable #7 Tue 5/26/15 She should of let him go off the cliff

Hello my patio peeps! This is my first recap for this show, it will be quick and dirty but I think I will be able to cover the most important parts, my DVR was a little bit wonky last night so I know I lost maybe 5-10 minutes of action, feel free to add to my recap in the comments section.

Also, before I continue, I am going to ask people to remember that this is a spoiler free zone. I saw the version of this with Kate Del Castillo, if this sticks closely to that version I know how things will turn out, if I saw LA Mentira, I'm sure others have as well, please do not ruin it for others by posting spoilers and do not discuss the previous version as it could give away key plot points, if anyone does and I see it I will delete the comment(s), please don't put any recapper in that position. And now your recap:

If she does not dig me she must be a ho:

At least Emiliano seems to think this is the case with Veronica. She is very clear with him, she has no romantic feelings towards him and she has started to feel something for Martin (who she just met! Seriously!), Emiliano makes the mistake of saying that it's true, she does go from man to man, and that earns him a slap, a wimpy slap by novela standards but still. Veronica is angry and wants to know why he would say such a thing to her.

Oh if only she knew that Virginia has been working over time to throw dirt all over her good name.

Salma has called Virginia inside, she does not want poor sickly Virginia to be out in the cold, she could get sick and catch her death, maybe Virginia would be best served by being put in a bubble, that way she would never be exposed to germs and you know the weather. Salma also has harsh words for Virginia, she does not want her to be like Vero, trying to get attention from men, she does not want her to disappoint her the way Veronica has.

Wait, what? Veronica has been shown to be a woman of strong character, she is smart, a hard worker, and kind, and she's considered a disappointment? Oh, okay.

Virginia plays the innocent card and says she was doing nothing wrong, she tells Selma that she tried to see if Emiliano had feelings for her but it turns out he is totally into Vero and she stands zero chance of him ever looking her way. Selma tells her not to push it and not to tell Emiliano how she feels about him.

Emiliano is sulking and tells his dad that Vero does not love him, in fact she is into Martin. Jorge tells him not to give up, he and Veronica have a lot of shared interests, and by working closely together something is sure to bloom, plus he does not think Veronica is impulsive enough to start going out with a guy she just met.

The next morning Veronica asks Matilde about Emiliano and it seems that he went off riding first thing in the morning, this alarms Vero and she puts on her riding boots to go after Emiliano. She catches up with him eventually, almost as he is about to ride off a cliff, yep, you read that right. Veronica pushes him off the horse and tells him he is all kinds of stupid, he could have hurt himself, and she could not bear it because she loves him-like a brother. Oh dang, that's not what you say to a man that has declared his love for you.

Veronica tells Emiliano that it might be best if she leaves both the family home and the company, she does not want to be around if it is going to make Emiliano uncomfortable and if his feelings endanger their friendship. Emiliano begs her not to go and asks her to give him a chance if things with Martin don't work out. Sigh, I'm sure Veronica will eventually regret not letting Emiliano go off the cliff. Random thought:Why does Sergio Sendel sound like he is constipated?

Jorge and Selma are in bed, he tells her that Emiliano is into Vero, she is of course not happy about it, they go to have breakfast and there is Virginia but no Emiliano and no Veronica, Matilde informs them that they went riding and Virginia is upset that she did not get to go, Jorge tells her she can go catch up with them but Virginia says she would love to, but her illness (heart problem) prevents her from doing the things she loves, like horse back riding, she says she is not hungry and leaves the table.

Once Virginia is gone Selma tells Jorge not to be so mean to Virginia, she is sick! Jorge says it sounds more to him like Virginia is using her illness as an excuse and he is not really all that sure of how sick she really is, in fact he wants to talk to her doctor. Selma tells him not to worry, she is already trying to get an appointment with a top cardiologist. Later Selma brings some fruit to Virginia and tells her about wanting to see the doctor, Virginia says she will make the appointment but Selma tells her not to worry, she'll take care of it.

My brain almost exploded, why in the world are people treating Virginia like a 12 year old? Who makes medical appointments for a grown woman, and worse why would a doctor even talk to Jorge or Selma about Virginia's medical issues, do patients have no right to privacy? I'm going to move on before I suffer brain damage.

Veronica tells Matilde that she has feelings for Martin, and she also mentions that she finds it odd that everyone is asking her about Demetrio. Matilde says it must be because they were very close. Veronica says that they were good friends, and that she once saw him having an argument with Virginia, he never told her what the argument was about and a few days later he disappeared.

Free Ana Perla!

Manuel, Ana Perla's assh*le of a brother is in the local cantina where he demands everyone show him respect, one of them men there says that respect is earned and you don't just get it because your grandfather is the boss. The waitress that was harassed before brings Manuel some tacos made with her special sauce, her very spicy sauce. Manuel can't handle the heat and everyone laughs at him, he threatens the men in the cantina by saying that anyone that laughs at him will get fired.

Manuel follows up that classy act by picking on Perla for making food for children whose parents are sending them to school hungry because they can't afford to feed them. I'm already thinking of ways for this jerk to bite the dust, I don't think I'll survive this telenovela with both him and his grandfather showing up on my screen every night.

Emiliano and Selma have a chat, she tells him that she is not okay with him wanting a relationship with Veronica, her father was a drunk and if they have children they might inherit that from Veronica.

Ooooh, oooh guess who had an a husband that liked to drink too much and was an abusive jerk? Magdalena. That's why Botel took her away, and sadly she had to leave her daughter behind, but now that they found gold they will use all their resources in order to find her. We also get a very disturbing scene of Magdalena getting hit by her drunk husband while their little girl heard/saw all of it.

Claudia has found out that Martin is a rich man, she let's it slip to Alfredo that Martin is going to be wealthier, Alfredo wants to know why she is saying this and Claudia says that it's because Martin is a hard worker. Alfredo tells her to give it up, she and Martin are never ever getting back together, and he seems to imply that she's a golddigger.

Claudia later tells Martin that she knows about the goldmine and that he should take the money and have fun with it. Martin tells her to ask before she reads his paper work. Pablo shows up with Mariana, he is ready to go to the jungle, and I feel like he has not properly prepared, but what do I know.

To finish off the episode Veronica and Martin meet at the club for their fencing match, tonight we get to see how that goes!

Thanks so much Eli. It was "watch the episode through or watch the Cavs annihilate the Hawks." As any good NE Ohio resident, I opted for the CAVS, catching snippets at break.

I just can't with Sergio as Emiliano, but maybe when he starts going all crazy, which we all assume he will, it will seem to work. Right now, gees, even he comes off whiney. Caught that conversation with Jorge and was like, oh, stop combing your hair like a tween and grow up!

And yes, of course Virginia has a heart problem....she doesn't have one! can't think why that would keep her from being active. Zombies keep moving fine. And another one who needs to grow the h*** up. Apparently being so "ill" means she can't sit behind a desk and work for a living either.

Gees, it's painful to watch the Ana scenes, even only a couple minutes. That girl needs someone to help or befriend her fast.

Eli, thanks. Enjoyed the recap and now I believe I finally know who’s who.

So funny when Jorge asked Salma “what does Virginia have anyway?” After all these years, he doesn’t know. Salma seemed to dodge to me.

The show went overtime, by about 4 minutes. Veronica didn’t seem to mind Martin getting the upper hand in their duel. I felt like she was thinking, “Take me, take me!”

Loved the waitress playing a trick on Manuel with the hot sauce. A gutsy move, but I hope Manuel doesn't try to get even.

What a hilarious recap, Eli. You had me laughing out loud from the moment I read your title. So funny....and so true. And there are a few other characters I wish would just go off that cliff, like Virginia, Salma, Manuel and abuelo Crescencio. I'm guessing it's the last few minutes that your DVR cut off, because we did get to see the fencing duel between Vero and Martin. But I'm sure we'll see it again tonight!!!

Thanks, Eli! Perfect blend of information and snark!

Yeah, it was weird because first we were shown a bit of previews, then four minutes of continued episode where we saw the dual between Vero and Martin. Niecie- you're so right on about the look in Vero's eyes. She as enjoying that he was coming at her full force. Then the two decide to get rid of the masks and the rapiers with the safety tips, and use real swords instead. When we end the episode, Martin has won, Vero has stumbled to her knees, Martin has a crazy look in his eyes as he holds the REAL sword to her neck, and everyone else looks aghast and scared for Vero (except Virginia who is likely wishing Martin would finish her off).

Eli, I'm so jealous of you! You have such a gift for focusing on what matters and describing it in your unmistakeable voice. Welcome to Team Imperdonable! And thanks for such a terrific and funny recap. You rock!

Wow, Eli, I just love your recap, thank you.

"If she does not dig me she must be a ho"

"Manuel, Ana Perla's assh*le of a brother"

I really like the show last night except for a few tiny things.

How silly, Veronica had to go running after a grown man, cause he's likely hungover and butthurt.

Selma cares more about what she and Virginia want than her own son, spoiled boy that he is.

It was so funny Pablo all excited, up close, wanting to get all the action

What a little wiener Emiliano is going all macho on Martin and challenging him

Oh, oh, a Guillermo García Cantú sighting though he would have to be the abusive husband of Magdalena.

I forgot to squee! about Cantu's surprise cameo. He looked pretty good, except for his wife abusing ways of course.

How come Botel didn't snatch up Malena's daughter? Or was he unable to?

If Veronica ends up being Lost Daughter, I wonder who Malena & her husband were to Jorge? Was Malena a love rival to Salma, ended up marrying Drunk Husband and was ultimately swept away by Botel, causing Salma to label her a ho?

I can't see Drunk Husband letting other people adopt his child willingly, because if that was the case Botel could've taken Lost Daughter with him and Malena.

All I know is with GGC appearing my TV screen, my interest level has taken a very sharp turn.

Surely we'll get more GGC since Magdalena is headed for Mexico to find her daughter

Eli, Thanks for the great recap. I too laughed over the line

"If she does not dig me she must be a ho"

I haven't seen the episode but I can't believe Emi was gonna dump himself off the cliff . "Veronica doesn't lurvvvve me!!"

Tofie, it is strange how Selma doesn't really seem to care about her son Emiliano too much. I mean, it's totally understandable, I don't either….just strange for a mom.

Selma and Jorge are going to have Virginia see a top cardiologist. Wow, Ginny has had a heart problem for years? Glad they both jumped right on learning about that diagnosis!

Barbara

Thanks, Eli, for another one of your excellent and rollifking recaps.

So..Emilinino in the black cowboy hat...was he supposed to be Butch Cassidy or the Sundance Kid ?

Ginny needs a new heart as well as a fasion make-over. Those headbands have got to go!!!

I really enjoyed your recap, Eli. This is one messed up family. So Emiliano is a wealthy young man who has studied world cultures, yet has the emotional maturity of a 14 year old? Did he not have any romances whilst in Spain?

I wonder if Jorge ever paid much attention to either Virgi or Vero while they were young? Maybe he left them all to Salma and only after Vero finished school and started working in the business did he develop a relationship with her?

Manuel needs to be force fed a whole bowl full of the extra hot sauce. He's not very bright and doesn't understand how to work with people at all.

Well what a treat it is for me to be reading Eli's excellent and hilarious recaps once more... so snappy and so wickedly funny. I haven't seen La Mentira but I have seen CME. I'll try my darnedest not to tread into spoiler territory, however, it'll be interesting to see how well we all do at not comparing similarities (and differences) between the characters and situations in the various TNs.

After watching that duel and reading the comments about it, I'm wondering if Verónica isn't both a bit kinky and a lot nuts. She simply isn't all that good at reading faces or body language and her taste in men is questionable at best. She certainly doesn't have a functioning early warning system.

After what I've seen so far I'm willing to concede that Ginny might be a mean girl but I've seen no evidence that she qualifies as a bad girl... yet. She hasn't killed anyone... yet.

Also adding to the speculation that Magdalena might be related to Verónica, I thought there was a great deal of facial resemblance between the two.

So about how old is Emiliano supposed to be anyway?

Carlos

Thank you all for your comments! My DVR cut off more than I thought, I never saw the fencing match and lost 5-10 minutes in the middle of the recording!

Carlos, hiiiiiiiii! It's so nice to see you here!

La Paloma, the girls have been a part of the family since they were children but Selma has always preferred Virginia over Veronica, so much so that she actually sent Veronica away to boarding school while Virginia got to stay home.

Manuel is just a mean bastard and I hate him!

Thank you for the wonderful recap! SS does seem too old for the role. I actually could see Sebastian Rulli in the role.

So Emi got his widdle feewings hurt:-( waaaaa. Is he going to be a spoiled braty momas boy about this. This is going to get ugly. I don't think gini girl Is all that sick. She's got the strength to poop out all those lies about vero. Like you said she's an adult, she may already know what the doctor said, and told him don't tell mom & dad. the doctor patient confidentiality card. She is an adult. We'll see how that goes. Ok gotta go its on.

Nina

In QA: Lucrecia always preferred Cesar over Max.

Here, Salma (Lucrecia 2.0) prefers Virginia & hates Veronica with deep passion.

She probably didn't give Veronica any toys when she was a child.
