Amores con trampa #61 and #62 6/22/15 and 6/23/15

Some scenes combined and condensed.

El Refritito
Porfirio overhears Fac the human talking to Fac the horse. He says to himself "Oh Facundo. If only you knew how much your mother loved you. Ah well. The past is best left in the past. It's painful and we shouldn't think about it." (I really like Ignacio Lopez Tarso. Such a good actor.)

At the boutique
Abuela is making sure Rocio knows how much she dislikes Santiago. Maria is worried about Santi. Rocio is too. He takes a lot to heart and Rocio doesn't know how much longer he'll be able to take it.

San Bartolo El Chico
Hilda is wearing her new dress. She is ready for that party (So are we!) Tía Humilde thinks she should cover her "boletos" and Hilda asks about the dress she picked out for Humilde. Humilde is NOT going to wear it. She's going to wear a pretty floral and embroidered dress. Hilda scoffs at that. You won't catch a man that way. Hilda plans to have them eating out of her hand at the party. If not Beto, then maybe one of the University boys. Hilda wasn't meant for this country living. She's a city girl. (You know I have to link the the Green Acres theme...right?) And as for Beto, if Hilda isn't going to get him, well neither is that girlfriend of his!

At the Universidad
Francis tries to convince Feli not to give up his studies. He doesn't listen. He has to get to work at the pizzeria.

Carmen pulls up and Francis barely gives her a chance to get out of her car. Francis tells Carmen that Feli is leaving the university and it's all Carmen's fault. He's depressed because Carmen in dating Diego. She would have figured that out if she really cared about Feli. Francis insists the she is the only one who truly knows and cares about Feli.

At a cafe
Isa meets Esteban incognito. She's not happy to be there. Esteban tells her to change her attitude. If she doesn't, he will destroy her. He wants her to come to his apartment. He wants to be alone with her and get back lost time. If she doesn't, he'll reveal her secret. The two ladies sitting nearby mistake the exchange for a real romantic moment.

At the Velascos
Santi is grateful to Carmen. Feli comes home from the pizzeria. Carmen explains that Francis(Pancha) told her that Feli was quitting school. Feli denies that Carmen's relationship with Diego has anything to do with it. Santi is not happy about Feli's decision to quit school. Feli wants to work more at the constructora and be Santi's eyes and ears. Santi still doesn't like the idea, but Feli is adamant.

In the Carmona Kitchen
Conchita and Porfirio start talking about Pancho Villa and his real name. Conchita asks if Porfirio's wife believed all these tales. Porfirio gets serious and says he doesn't want to talk about his wife. Conchita keeps bringing it up and finally Porfirio says "I don't want to talk about the mother of my CHILDREN." Yup. PLURAL. Even Conchita is confused. Don't think we are falling for your excuses of Conchita making you nervous, Porfirio. Conchita asks if his wife died. He just says "Let's not speak of the dead."

The Velasco Living Room
Isa screeches about Feli quitting the university. Santi complains she doesn't do enough around the house. She said she called an agency to send them a girl to help around the house. Isa is not a servant, she's his wife. Then they get into a fight. I hate their fights. She complains that he always makes her look like the bad guy.

The Carmona Living Room
Feli comes to visit. Carmen told Fac about Feli leaving school. Fac wants to help. Fac starts to explain that he didn't have the chance to go past the 6th grade. The family groans. This must be an old tale to them. He had to work and then his mom died...Conchita dries his tears.

Fac wants Feli to quit the pizzeria job and work at the constructora. Fac is going to raise his salary so he can do that and keep studying. Feli agrees.

The Velasco Living Room
Isa is drinking alone. Rocio finds her there and asks her about it. Rocio wants to know what's going on. Isa is upset about Santi losing his job, losing the boutique. Lots of things are going on. Rocio tries to be positive, but Isa doesn't want to hear it. Rocio asks if Isa has talked to Esteban. Isa says he's blackmailing her over...but she quickly saves herself and says it's about the care wreck. Rocio tells Isa to wake up and own up to her behavior. Every action has a reaction. Isa cries and sings "You have to be happy" is a very creepy and annoying way. (So I'm really tired of her tears. I think that makes me heartless.)

The Velasco Dining Room
Santi is hilariously dressed for housework. He and Isa agreed to share the household duties and he made breakfast. And it's terrible. Feli excuses himself to go to work. Isa is glad Feli is going to continue his studies. I'm not sure if she's happy about it being thanks to Fac. Santi helps her sit down to breakfast. She complains about it. She also complains that Santi ruined her designer "Muy to You" blouse. The said "dry clean" and Santi washed it and burned a hole in it ironing.

Feli comes back. The new help has arrived. Santi is appreciative *IfyouknowwhatImean*. Her name is Josefina.

Grupo Carmona Building
Fac shows Feli his new office. There's a trumpet. I even looked up the word tuerca so I guess calling the office "screwy" was funny. Fac lectures that Feli's bigges responsibility is to study.

Back to the Velasco Living Room
Santi continues to appreciate Josefina, unfortunately the books he's reading is upside down so it sort of makes it obvious. Good thing Josefina is not looking. Isa comes out and she's dressed to go out. She tells Santi that she's going out. Santi makes a crack about her manners. That's no way to talk to her husband and the provider. Isa ignores it and tells Josefina to dust the plant. Isa leaves and Santi makes moves on Josefina. Can he call her "Fina"? It's so hard being the man of the house. She seems pretty into it too. Santi excuses himself.

While he is away, Josefina goes to the master bedroom and takes pictures on her cell phone.

Fac's Office
Beto is waiting. Fac asks about his classes. According to Beto the class was cancelled. (Is it just me or is this the second or third time that Fac has asked about classes and Beto has made an excuse?) Beto is a little jealous. He hasn't gotten a raise or a new office. Fac seems to have more trust in Feli. Fac tells him to quit being jealous. Beto is his right hand man. Now get to work.

La Universidad
Feli thanks Carmen for her help. Carmen is happy to help. Diego come up and asks what's up. Feli says he's not leaving the University. Diego gets a little miffed and knows it's because Carmen asked him to stay.

Carmen tells Diego that women don't like insecure men. Diego thinks "Carmen Gloria" (I love how he uses her full name)is just tying to change the subject. It has nothing to do with his insecurity and has to do with her "great friendship" with Feli. Carmen wants Diego to realize that she's with him. They're novios. She says they shouldn't let anything ruin that. Diego confesses that maybe he is insecure and a little jealous. They kiss.

Feli looks on and calls himself an idiot. He's lost the best girl.

Estefy's Apartment
Santi comes to visit. He really needs her support for something. She will support him in anything! They start to snuggle and make out (I love how she scratches him under his chin just like I do my cats.) A phone call interrupts them. Estefy picks up and says "You know what you have to do!" (Mystery caller is mysterious.) Santi finally gets around to the reason for his visit. He wants to sell the apartment. He owes Fac money. Estefy is furious. After he leaves she tells herself that Santi is not taking a thing from her. In fact, she'll be the one to take more from him. El que da y quita, el diablo se desquita: He who gives then takes, will have hell to pay.

La Universidad Again
Oh boy. Now Francis is mad at Carmen for helping Feli stay (Carmen can't win with this girl.) Francis accuses Carmen of leading on Diego and Feli and throws her Crappaccino at her.

Esteban's Apartment
Isa arrives. Esteban arrogantly says he's waiting for her to join him on the couch and give him a kiss.

He tries speaking English. Isa just says his accent is terrible. He tries "Mexican" and says "come on mamita." Is is a statue. He goes behind her and starts to unzip he dress. She slaps the stew out of him and he gets creepy again. She says he can never have her. She's in love and her heart belongs to another. He asks who, but we never get the answer.

The Velasco Living Room
Santi stil "appreciates" Fina, but he's noticed that the house actually looks worse than it did when she arrived. She says it's her first time working with a full family. If Santi keeps her secret she can "repay" him *ifyouknowwhatImean* whenever he needs it. He needs it know and Fina is scandalized. Even Santi is scandalized and plays it off like he's hungry. Fina starts to cry. She can't cook either! Santi says he'll go get something to eat so Isa doesn't fire her.

On his way to the store, Maria stops him. Conchita told her they have a new girl, so Maria wonders why he's going out to get food.. Santi explains that Fina doesn't know how to cook very well and Isa will fire her if she finds out. Maria offers to cook for the family. Just keep it secret. Santi is thrilled. I'm wondering what in the world Maria is thinking. I'm also thinking the avances crew is terrible. That was the scene they used Friday and it turned out to be a pretty nothing scene.

Back at Esteban's
Isa is not going to share her deepest feelings with someone who is behaving so brutally. Esteban says she clearly doesn't know him. Whatever. She can save her feelings. He's patient and can wait. Eventually those feelings will be for him. She'll accept his conditions or else. She calls his bluff and says to go ahead and put her in jail. He then says he'll just reveal her secret, but she doesn't think he will. He asks if she wants to make a bet on that. She hates him! He loves her though. He forcefully kisses her.

Isa escapes his clutches and head for the door. She wrestles with him and the door. She manages to get the door open, but Fac is there and she and Esteban are in a VERY compromising position!

Comments:
Did this episode seem choppy to anyone else?

Anyway, two new mysteries. Or do we count Estefy's phone call as a third?

Sara, yes, this was definitely choppy: like a ittle bit of this and a little bit of that all thrown together. I admit I fell asleep in the last ten minutes and had to watch my video. So, thank you for your most excellent recap of this mishmash tonight. The "Green Acres" theme is perfect as was your very funny "*ifyouknowwhatImean*". You had me laughing with the under the chin scratching comparison with what you do to your kitties. I am also tired of Isabel and her constant crying.

Now on to what I did like:

Creating a much more complicated character for Granpappy Porfirio. Now we have to wonder what happened not only to his wife but his other child(ren). I wonder if she/they died in childbirth or something th

Poor Santiago with his breakfast that only earned him more moaning from the perpetually whining Isabel. The "muy to you" brand was a hoot.

Santiago ogling Fina and Fina's reciprocity of his attentions were hilarious as were his comments. Those scenes were my faves tonight. I wonder who chose her to be the new maid since she was on a mission of some sort taking the photos of Santiago's bedroom. Who is she really working for?

Francis never giving up a chance to call Carmen a pig. Carmen unfortunately always engages in a conversation with the witch. After she threw her cappuccino on Carmen, I was hoping Carmen would give her a nice hug so she would have the coffee all over her, too.

I wonder where Estefany will be living if Santiago goes ahead and sells her apartment.

What will Facundo say/think about seeing Isabel with Esteban? Can't wait! Shoukd be good.

Jarifa

Con mucho gusto, Jarifa. And thanks for saying it was choppy. I'm glad I didn't imagine it. I hope it's not a trend.

I LOVE that they are giving Porfirio some more depth and a possible story line. I think it keeps him safe a little longer. Plus I just love his scenes.

Wow. I never think very much, but yeah...no that you mention it...indeed who sent Fina??

Francis drives me nuts. Throwing that drink all over Carmen was just a new low.

As much as I dislike Isa, I sure love her style. Except for those sky high heels. Those would kill me.

Thanks, Sara. Super job and much appreciated. I also liked the way Diego called Carmen by her full name. What exactly is the appeal of Felipe? Is this some kind of nepotism?
Ernesto LaGuardia is so good at convincing me that he IS Santiago.

OT: I saw a very pleasant offbeat romantic movie from Argentina yesterday "El corazón de León" ( 2013). It was a movie on MAX. HBO& MAX are having a freeview on Comcast/Xfinity this week.

Jarifa

Sara- Thanks for the great recap of a fun and illuminating episode.

The mysteries around Porfirio and his wife continue to grow, and I like it. And Fina is definitely not on the up and up.

I loved Santi's unsuccessful run at being a househusband. He said he and Isa were sharing the housework, but I didn't see her do anything. And now they have a fake maid. Thank goodness the food will be taken care of by Maria.

I also love Isa's wardrobe. Hope Santi doesn't try to wash any more of it.

Francis was insufferable. I don't know how Carmen avoided hitting her. I did really like how quickly and honestly Carmen and Diego worked through their argument about Feli. I was glad to see her sounding so sure about her commitment to Diego, although we know it's Feli who makes her heart skip.

Starting to get suspicious about Beto's class attendance too.

Other than Francis, my least favorite character this episode was Abuela. Why does she need to keep badmouthing the Velascos in front of their kids. Rocio is now working hard for Maria, and Abuela is making her feel like the enemy!

I especially liked Isabel's dress she wore to go meet Esteban. The have given her a beautiful wardrobe.

Jarifa

Sara, a simply fantastic recap. Your wry comments are inspired and my favorites (among many) were "Santi is appreciative *IfyouknowwhatImean*" and "If Santi keeps her secret she can "repay" him *ifyouknowwhatImean* whenever he needs it".

"El que da y quita, el diablo se desquita: He who gives then takes, will have hell to pay". You add so much by the vocabulary you so graciously relate. Gracias!

I saw some of this and I also loved Santi's housekeeping outfit, more appropriate for a genie in a bottle but I smiled in that he certainly tried to get into his new responsibilities. My heavens, I thought Facundo was a ladies' man but Santi wasted no time cozying up did he?

Vivi and Jarifa, yes, Isa's wardrobe is beautiful (has she worn that stunning green dress that is in the opening credits yet?) I laughed thinking Santi is dissembling her wardrobe quickly so hopefully, he will leave the laundry to a professional.

Francis and her flunkies are so depressing. I really like Diego and though I like Feli too, I wouldn't mind if they were together in the end.

No animals last night. Sniff.

Porfirio's secrets have me intrigued. Deeply.

Denise, "Ernesto LaGuardia is so good at convincing me that he IS Santiago". Indeed. I like the actor so much, I can't help but let that seep into my feelings about the character. I believe there is hope - there is something good buried beneath the greedy, self centered exterior.

Fabulous, Sara.

Diana

¡Con mucho gusto, Denise and Vivi!

I saw Ernesto Laguardia in bits and pieces on Corona de Lagrimas. He is so different in this and I love it. Might as well get my weekly praise in now- he is absolutely stealing the show to me.

And yes, that scene between Carmen and Diego working out the problem was wonderful. And Diego did admit he was jealous and insecure. It takes a lot of courage for a former ladies man to admit that. I'm going to be upset if Carmen doesn't end up happily in love with him or if they don't give him a GOOD option at the end. And I don't want it to be some last minute girl they throw in.

¡Con mucho gusto Diana!

There is something so different about Santi and Fac's womanizing, but I can't put my finger on what it is.

Oh and Le Comment Bomb

I would think that Fac seeing Esteban and Isa like that would at least open his eyes to the fact that Isa is not some poor victim (which I guess technically in this case she is.)

She's been playing the victim card forever and it's driving me crazy because when she's not playing the victim, she's mean as a snake. Rocío was right, Isa brings it on herself.

I know what you mean by a difference between Santi and Fac's womanizing Sara. They are both wrong though.

What troubles me is that Facundo is in denial that he has done anything wrong, even to himself. He considers himself above reproach. I find that irritating and just plain wrong. He has been inappropriate at best and coupled with his macho blustering he is just not the galan I was hoping for (apologies to "my" Eduardo)

Diana

True. At least Santi seems to have a little remorse. He never seems to deal with Estefany (and now Fina) with 100% gusto.

There was even a scene with Estefany after wild sex where he was almost like "what have I gotten myself into?"

I feel like Beto and Diego are the galans of this tale. The adults are idiots. The kids seem more mature.

Argh! Comment bomb! I keep forgetting to list a few of my favorite scenes (sung by Julie Andrews.)

When Humilde told Hilda she should cover her boletos.

When Hilda called Rocío banana eyes (no, not nice but funny)

When Diego wanted to pinky swear but gave a kiss instead.

When Conchita talks to Porfirio. It turned sad, but I like the way she is with him.

When Conchita started pulling the long roll of tissue out of somewhere.

Good list, Sara.

I am just ready for the party. They have teased us long enough. Nothing less will do at this point. 🐷

I was so happy with my piggy, I forgot to sign Jarifa.

It is such a darling piggy! I have to admit that the emojis for iProducts are so much better than the ones for Android.

I'm just glad they are still mentioning the party! For a while it was like they had forgotten.

I'm hoping that it's going to be the mother of all parties. In the past a party would get mentioned and we'd have it the next day or two. That they are dragging this one out makes me think it's going to be a doozy.

Jarifa, love the little piggy!

Diana

Well I'm finally caught up so thanks to the recappers!!

Did anyone catch that Esteban called it "nuestra" secret? Is it possible Esteban knows because Isa used him in his capacity as a lawyer all of those years ago?

I'm thinking the maid is part of a gang of thieves and she's just casing the house. How awful if they are now robbed too?!

I guess Diego calling Francis out had no affect since she is still at it. That girl is psycho.

Poor Santi. I'm feeling bad for the guy. He has so much good in him. Loved him with that scarf around his head, cooking.

¡Con mucho gusto, Carvivlie!

Ooo. Good call on the "nuestro" secreto. As the company lawyer and ex-amante of Isa, I bet he knows all kinds of things. I'm surprised he never tried anything earlier.

That's an excellent thought about Fina. The pictures she took did seem to be of the inventory of valuables variety.

I had the exact same thought about Francis. If a public humiliation won't stop her, I feel like nothing will.

Thanks for the recap, Sara. Thank you for including the vocab. It’s always so helpful.

For a fasionista, Isa has a sad lack of shoes. For a while, I thought the only shoes she owned were the nude high heels, then she started wearing black ones in the same style. So she only owns two pairs of shoes?!

No Nic for Diego. Usually, she acts like she’s embarrassed by Frances’ behavior and a little sorry for Carmen. Last night when F threw the drink on Carmen (that would have been the final straw for me—unconscionable behavior) she was laughing about it.

Besides I really like Diego for Carmen. I hope they don’t do the TN cliché of having Carmen and Feli hook up because he’s Carmen’s first love. I wonder who the Mexican audiences are rooting for.

I still don’t understand why Carmen just doesn’t walk away when Frances comes her way. Though, I guess you have to admire her standing her ground.

Fina is wearing her hair like Maria except for the ponytail. Braids must be in.

Nanette

I'm sorry, but I'm totally loving my little piglet!!!!

Jarifa: OT: I get HBO. I'll have to check out the flick.

Sara: OT: I guess The Girl Who Sees Smells is done. The Mask started last Wednesday (the eps air on Wed and Thurs). My recording for that day says "Girl" so I double checked it to see if it really was The Mask. Just saw a few seconds of it and whoa!! it's starting out pretty cool!!

¡Con mucho gusto, Nanette!

I'm going to focus in the shoes. I always feel so validated when so mine brings up something small that I also seem to focus on.

I notice that in a lot of TNs the ladies only have one or two pair. And lately they seem to be the nude high heels and black high heels.

I hadn't noticed Nic's laughing. I'll try to go back and look. Francis has done some awful things, but for some reason the drink thing has made me the maddest.

Nanette - I hope you keep your little pig for a while. I guess him outing myself as a weirdo because I really do sometimes stop by and just look at him. He makes me smile.

OT- I've got drama fever on my roku and I found out that they call The Girl Who Sees Smells "Sensory Couple." I've got it on my list.

I love the recommendations that you and Jarifa have given me. Thank you both.

I usually change my avatar every month, but I may have to keep Little Piglet for the duration.

I love getting recommendations, too.

I was very disappointed in Nic's reaction to what Frances did to Carmen. The throwing the drink was so beyond the pale, and I agree with Jarifa. Carmen should have given Frances a nice big hug.

OT:
Nanette, the movie was on MAX.

"The Girl Who Sees Smells" sounds fascinating and quite an original plot for once. It is so hard finding originality anywhere (network, cable, movies, telenovelas, novels) these days. If I only had time . . .

Jarifa

"It is so hard finding originality anywhere (network, cable, movies, telenovelas, novels) these days."

Isn't it??

Teaching is a tough job, but I have to admit that the vacation time is pretty good. I do a lot of marathon watching during the winter and spring breaks. That's when I tend to do most of my K-drama watching.

I sometimes wish TNs would experiment with a 3 times-a-week super short number of episodes format. Maybe 25 to 30 episodes? The older I get the harder it is for me to stick with a long show.

Comment bomb. It's an old age thing. I think of two things I want to say, then I get so focused on typing the first thing that I forget the second.

Now where was I?

Oh yeah. Avatars.

I am in a paranoid threadkillers group on a knitting site and we change avatars all the time....sometimes daily...based on jokes or smart remarks that get made. I find it hilarious and tend to carry it over here.

Nanette-I love your old movie avatars too! And your saying that you try to change once a month makes me feel better about my tendency to change my avatar so much.

Sara, teaching is a very tough job and those vacations are the only time there is to recharge your batteries, so to speak. :)

Jarifa

I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for teachers.

Jarifa, you are so right - what a difficult job. My brother is a teacher and I know the hours and effort he puts in, year round. He often calls me at night - from school.

Molding minds is a challenging job and encouraging children to be their best is not easy in today's world.

Diana

Nanette, you always mention noteworthy things that happened.

Nic's reaction was a shame. I had high hopes for the girls who seem content to be hangers on rather than those who accomplish, but that did it for me.

Diana

Ditto. We've had such growth from Diego and I was really hoping the same would happen with Nic and Jessica. I'm sad that's not happening.

Jarifa: darn! I had the free Cinemax weekend, too, but missed that one. Will have to catch it next time.

Diana: thank you. I'm usually not so observant, really, but sometimes things just seem to jump out at me. I think I've been keeping an eye on her ever since the Miss University contest and we started thinking she might be good enough for Diego. I was completely shocked by Frances' behavior and just had to look to see if Nic would respond appropriately. Disappointment ensued.

I'm so in love with the couple from The Girl Who Sees Smells, I must get the DVD. I also loved that the villain was so different from what I've seen before. Plus, really loved the acting on the parts of most of the cast. I know the DVD is available, but don't want to do too much research on it (complete eps or edited) until I've finished watching my recordings.

Nanette - have you seen My Love From Another Star? It's called something else too. I just can't remember what.

Thanks Sara good recap i am kinda late but I'm here anyway i think fina is a thef but her taking pics and estefany answering a mysterious call maybe estefy and her are in cahoots Diego and Carmen so cute they worked it out i agree with one of the other commentators that beto and Diego seem more like the galans and no Nicolasa for Diego man Francis just doesn't get it she's never happy at least feli is staying in school o my facu caught isa and estevon i can't wait for the party and Hilda does need to put her boletos away tia humilde is very good at telling Hilda where to go

Ne te procupes, Eva. Late is fine. We party 24/7 on the patio ;-)

Now, that is very interesting....Estefy and Fina. That does make sense!

Sara thanks better late than never yay it's 27/7 yeah estefy and fina does make sence we will see if it's true

Parte 1
Hey everyone. I think I'm starting to come down with something so it's mainly going to be impressions and highlights tonight. I may need y'all to help fill in.

Hightlight: Fac catching Esteban and Isa was a non-event. Esteban made excuses and claimed he and Isa are just friends. Fac invited him to the party. Esteban is still not coming back to work. Isa catches up with Fac later and begs for forgiveness. Fac says she's just lying. She reminds him that Fac has taken everything from her.

Impression: I'm really over Isa.

Highlight: Maria promises Perpetua she'll tell Fac that she's making food for the neighbors. Maria and Conchita deliver food. Santi got handsy. They notice that the new girl really does a terrible job. Specific comment was made about the carpet. Santi tells Maria she's a marvelous woman.

Impression: Conchita took the food to the kitchen really fast. Are they editing this thing?

Highlight: Carmen wanted to be left alone after she got home from the cappuccino slinging. Maria was on her way to the boutique. Perpetua tells Maria she's ignoring her children.

Impression: I hope Maria ignores Perpetua.

Highlight: Maria does tell Fac about the food. He agrees to let her keep doing it but wants Conchita to be in charge of the deliveries. He doesn't want her talking to Santi. But later on he worries if they are being too metiche.

Impression: Is he jealous of Santi?

Highlight: Ale tells Rocio that she saw Esteban kissing Isa. Rocio goes to Esteban and asks him to leave Isa alone. He claims to love her. Rocio doesn’t buy it and tells him to forget about Isa. He claims if Rocio knew Isa, she would not defend her so much. Rocio cuts to the quick. The only man for Rocio’s family is Santiago Velasco. And that won’t change for Esteban or anyone.

Highlight: Isa mopes and Santi brings her food. She totally ignores his efforts. This is why I got so very frustrated when Ale suggested that Santi try and win back Isa's love. Ok. I guess Santi did sort of misunderstand. Isa was sad and he just thought she was stressed...

Impression: Forget it. I'm not making excuses for her any more. He's been trying to get affection from her, support her, make her happy and she doesn't care. Yeah yeah. He got rid of the boutique. Was it really that important to her?

Highlight: Fina talks to the mystery caller (that turns out to be Estefy...good call, Eva!) They have robbed almost every thing from the Velasco home and they put it up for sale on the internet. In a later scene Beto asks Rocio to help him look for an anniversary gift for his mother. While searching a site, he and Rocio see some neat things. She comments on how she has some of the same things in her house. She makes the purchase. In another scene Fina reports that one item has already sold.

Impression: Both Rocio and Isa wear a Carmona sombrero tonight. Oh, and what the heck is going to happen if someone spots that stolen merchandise at the Carmona house...OH NO! Conchita could see it!!!

Highlight: Fac has guilt complexes and nightmares about kissing Isa and getting caught.

Impression: Good. He should feel guilty and tormented.

Highest highlight: Santi works out.

Impression: HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Parte 2
Highlight: Fac and Maria pick out their outfits for the fiesta. Maria’s dress is gorgeous.

Highlight: Fac asks Maria why the attitude change in regards to Rocio and Beto. Maria figures between Rocio and Hilda, Rocio is better. Besides, Maria would bet the ranch that Beto and Rocio won’t last.

Impression: I’m not sure about this Maria. It could backfire.

Highlight: Santi and Isa flip when they discover the robbery. Santi is just as sad to see the painting gone as I am. Did they accuse each other of having the stuff taken away? Isa tells Santi he’s not taking the cross her aunt gave her. It’s from Italia and made for the Medicis. Santi cracks the joke that it’s from the Colonia Italia (heeey, Los Menchaca!) and made by Medichi Perez. More yelling. Pitiful Ale is pitiful.

Impression: Can we please stop torturing Ale?

Highlight that is really a lowlight: Isa and Santi have another mealtime fight. Which upsets Ale (clearly no one is listening to me.) This is where the kids suggest he win Isa back. Later Santi talks to Conchita and convinces her to convince Maria to make Isa’s favorite meal: Filet Mignon with mushroom sauce.

Impression: I did not like Isa’s dress. I would have preferred it if it maybe went to just above the knee? A-line skirts that short always make me think of little girl dresses.

Highlight: Isa goes to see Fac at the office. Again with the tears. She loves him for realz. Blech. Fac only asks her to stop crying. Blech. She’ll change for him. Doesn’t he feel anything for her? He just tells her to stop playing with him. Isa says fine. If you don’t love me ok.

Impression: When a woman who is not your wife says she loves you the proper response it “I don’t love you.” NOT “Please stop crying.”

Highlight: Isa goes to see Esteban and he tells her about Roció’s visit. he claims he’s going to honor Rocios request. He wants to be with Isa, but not at the cost of her family suffering. Most of all Rocio.

Impression: I didn’t believe him.

Highlight: Party talk and Maria’s dress. I’ve already mentioned how gorgeous it is, right? Perpetua apparently like Humilde. This is interesting. Jacinto asks how everyone is getting from San Bartolo to the hootenanny. They’re arriving by the truckload first thing in the morning.

Highlight: Isa goes to see Rocio at the boutique to thank her. Isa is mortified by the rancherawear (not to be confused with ramerawear) in her boutique. Rocio likes the idea of straw on the runway. Rocio asks Isa to be nicer to Santi.

Highlight: Isa comes home and Santi has a white rose and her favorite dish ready. For whatever reason, Isa decides she will give Santi and chance and she’ll stop torturing the family.

Impression: Whatever. I don’t believe her.

Jarifa gets the party!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sara, loved your recap with the "highlight" and "impression" organization. You made me laugh with the "Menchaca" reference and "When a woman who is not your wife says she loves you the proper response is 'I don't love you.' NOT 'Please stop crying.' " ITA about Isa's dress. She is too old for it to be that short. (BTW the best wardrobe I ever saw was Angelique Boyer's in LQLVMR). No, I don't trust ditzy Isabel either.

Grandpappy Porfirio was getting "handsy" with Conchita and the only one it seemed to bother was Granny Perpétua.

María's comment about Rocío being better than Hilda but then Rocío and Beto wouldn't last anyway bothered me because it sounded like she really didn't like Rocío after all.

It was interesting that Esteban said he didn't want to hurt the family . . . ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY Rocío. Why did he single her out?

Can't wait for the party, who comes and what they are up to. I am sure there will be plenty of drama and laughs. Thanks in advance, Sara, for the header.

Jarifa

And did it look to you like Conchita tripped into Porfirio's arms on purpose.

Yes! I did find it very interesting that Esteban specifically did not want to hurt Rocío. The plot thickens!

I was terribly disappointed that Maria didn't think Beto and Rocío would last. I hope she does eventually get behind Rocío 100%

I did not watch LQLVMR, but even seeing promos every day I could tell that Angelique had fabulous costuming.

I'll have that header up for you. I might listen to mariachi music and rancheros all day in anticipation of the party. Ooo... Wonder if I can talk hubs into Mexican food for dinner!

Sara, yes, it looks like Conchita is not so put off by Porfirio's advances as Granny thinks she should be. Does Granny really want Porfirio for herself? Is she jealous?

Yes, also Perpétua was a real pain trying to rein María in one more time.

I like your idea of ranchero music in the day and Mexican food for dinner. Sure would set in the mood on the patio.

Maybe Estefany will come out on top with her new "business"

Jarifa

I will also need to "dress" for the fiesta and find a new avatar! Hee hee!

Oops. Forgot to say I really like Conchita.

Does this avatar make me look fat?

And OMG OT Nanette!! So I'm watching the first episode of the Girl Who Sees Smells and the male lead was in Rooftop Prince! If you haven't seen that you should. He was hilarious in that!

*ahem*

Carry on.

No, I don't think so. I love the sombrero. Too cute!

Jarifa

Sara thanks for the recap and the high lights awesome job no your avatar doesn't make you look fat it's cute yes facu should have told isa i don't love you instead of stop crying I'm thinking that prepetua actually likes porfirio and i guess conchita is starting to like him wow Maria is so nice to help santi they have a soft spot for each other um i wonder why estevon is only doing for Rocio could she be related to him I'm also going to listen to rancheras all day and dinner will be tacos yay i was right about estefi and fina i can't wait until the party tomorrow

Sara- Gracias for the mini recap. I like how you laid it out by your impressions. I've stayed up way too late to watch recordings of all the shows. So sleepy!

Yay! It's party time! ITA about Maria's party dress. Love! And ITA about Isa's pink Barbie doll dress. Too young for her. A rare miss in her wardrobe. I did love most of AB's wardrobe in Robo, but hated her 50s sock hop phase.

The plot thickens, indeed. Is Esteban really going to back off? And why? Hmmm...

Isa was accusing Santi of not dealing with the debts and the bank, and believes the debt collectors repossessed their things. They do look really pathetic living in that empty house.

I think the only reason Isa agreed to give things a go with Santi was because of the pressure from the kids. It won't last.

Last night I forgot to say ¡con mucho gusto! to Jarifa and Eva.

And a ¡con mucho gusto! to Vivi as well. Also a thank you for explaining the argument after the robbery.

Sara, feeling under the weather was no impediment to a sensational recap. Quite the opposite - you were fueled with feeling and your impressions were simply stellar.

"I'm really over Isa"; “Perpetua tells Maria she's ignoring her children Impression: I hope Maria ignores Perpetua” and "When a woman who is not your wife says she loves you the proper response it “I don’t love you.” NOT “Please stop crying” were excellent. All.

"Maria does tell Fac about the food. He agrees to let her keep doing it...". How very magnanimous of you Facundo. Blech.

We had terrible thunderstorms (and a tornado warning!) last night so didn't get to watch any TV.

ITA with Eva, your avatar does not make you look heavy. At all!

Jarifa, you hit on an excellent point. I wondered once or twice if Maria's mother might have a bit of a crush on Porfirio. Can't blame her if she does. :)

So sorry I missed the fashions especially after Vivi's description of Isa's "pink Barbie doll dress". Hopefully I can watch tonight.

Sara, hope you feel better! Thank you for giving us this fun recap. The day just got a bit sunnier.

Diana

¡Con mucho gusto! Diana. I hope the bad weather has passed. We've got a lot of cloud right here this morning.

I really feel like I should trademark Susanlynn's "Blech" I know it's not an original word, but her use of it was so inspiring. I think of her every time I use it.

Well if I have a crush on Porfirio, I surely don't blame Perpetua. Jarifa is probably right.

If you watch tonight's episode, you will get to see Maria's dress, Diana. It is just beautiful.

Sara, I'm so pleased Maria will outshine Isa! She is so beautiful it will be nice to see her take the spotlight.

susanlynn is so clever and you are right, she turns an excellent phrase.

I believe the first time I saw "blech" was in one of Sylvia's recaps many years ago. I am not sure who used the word initially but it is such a fun one that we've all taken turns using it occasionally.

Diana

Thank you for the history of "Blech".

I am sort of working in a Caray glossary and I may include Blech.

Sara, a Caray glossary? That would be amazing!!

Diana

So far I'm only trying to get down all the shows that have been recapped and the acronyms we sometimes use for them.

In part two I've got some common words and definitions. Like anvil and beanie.

I just watched this and totally agree Maria's dress is beautiful!

Isa looks like she is going to a tennis match. I picture Chris Evert wearing that many years ago with her namesake tennis bracelet.

Tonight should be great fun.

Diana

If my daughter decides to marry, I want her to have Mexican embroidery on her dress. Alas, it is not my decision. :-)

Sara, thanks for Monday and Tuesday. Hope you’re feeling better. I missed watching last night but all your impressions make it so vivid. Your new avatar is too cute for words.

At last I’m caught up. Maria is getting on my nerves a bit. Cooking meals for the family of the woman who’s trying to steal her husband? Even making a special meal for Isa at Santi’s request? Please! Inviting the kids over for meals is fine, but taking meals over to the Velascos? Hell, no! But I guess the plot has reasons for getting Maria inside the Velasco house. Glad she told Facundo what she’s doing.

Facundo sounds hurt that Isa’s true extramarital love for him maybe is not so exclusive. It ticks me off that he even cares what she’s up to with Esteban. ITA, why not just tell her “I’m not into you.” But we know the answer to that.

Santi working out: that’s a must see.

I too am disappointed to hear Maria doesn’t think Beto and Rocio will last. Rocio is probably the smartest person in this TN.

Wow, Estefany is robbing Santi! Excellent. Why is that woman broke? She doesn’t lack for ideas.

Yay, the hootenanny is tonight. Can’t wait for all the San Bartolo folks to show up.

Diana - It's great to hear your recovery is allowing you to watch some of the show. Wonderful news.

Sara: Hope you are feeling better. I loved how you laid out your recap. Can’t wait to see the Caray Caray! Glossary. Thanks for the info about the lead actor from “Girl”. I have a crush on his character in it. I’ll have to check out the one you mentioned yesterday. I love the title. That’s why I checked out “Girl”. Thought the title was so intriguing.

Diana: that was my first thought. Isa’s dress looked like a tennis dress.

I thought Esteban did a head turned away smirk when he was talking to Isa.

Speaking of Isa. She cries more than that Victoria lady.

Nanette

¡Con mucho gusto, Niecie! I find that "Hell no" of yours very funny. My inner feminist is very disappointed with me for not thinking about the absurdity of Maria cooking for Santi and Isa. Thank you for pointing that out.

¡Con mucho gusto, Nanette! I don't want to tell you what to do, but you MUST watch Rooftop Prince. But bear in mind that it was recommended to me by one of my students, so it has a more youthful feel to it, BUT there is a historical aspect to it and I love the costuming for that.

And you speak truth! Isa is crying more than Victoria. That explains my impatience with her!

Hope you are feeling better today, Sara, and are in true party form for the viewing from the patio.

Good comparison, Diana, on Isabel's dress having that tennis look.

I also loved the scene with Santiago just standing in the living room in the middle of nothing. It was great visually.

Jarifa

To be fair to Maria, she pointed out that in SBeC they would have never turned their back on a neighbor in needs, and that's how she sees the Velascos. It wasn't just because she's a woman and thinks the kids need a woman cooking for them. Maria also didn't know they were cooking Isa's favorite meal. Conchita did but didn't share that info.

That's true. And poor Conchita has got to be torn. She loves both of the families I think.

Jarifa - I loved Santi yelling "they robbed the Velascos!"

It can't hurt Maria if her helping Santi also fixes his and Isa's marriage.

Like he is soooooo innocent of anything like that . . .

Jarifa
