Lo Imperdonable #14 Thu 6/4/15 "Rings, Horses, and Drunken Cousins.....Here's How to Ruin a Lovely Engagement Party"
UPDATE: As I previously mentioned, Adriana had an "imprevisto" (something came up) and could not write a recap for last night's episode #14. Fortunately, our recapping team captain Mauricio came through for us (even though he also has recapping duty tonight) and wrote a detailed recap of episode #14. Hotel / Bar
Martin answers his phone. Veronica thanks him for the all the flowers. He filled her room with them and filled her with happiness. It's the best present she has ever received. No one has ever had such a gesture like that with her. "It can't be the first time that a man gives you a gift.." Martin tells Veronica. "Of course not" Veronica replies. "But if that were true, nothing compares to receiving something like this from the man I love" Veronica tells him. Martin tells her he thinks she is exaggerating a little but is glad she liked them. Alfredo signals to him [probably letting him know their car is there] and Martin tells Veronica he has to hang up. Veronica tells Martin she loves him. She tells him she knows he can't say "I love you" back but she is sure that one day he will. Martin hangs up and says to himself "of course I will never say it but I would love to..." as he leaves.

Alfredo and Claudia arrive at the party and Claudia loves what she sees. She'd love to be a member of the club and to have the rich life. Alfredo laughs and tells Claudia that she'll never change. "And here Martin is thinking that the golddigger is. Oh well.. " he says. Then why don't you tell him that his assistant is nothing but a golddigger you idiot. Virginia walks past by them and Alfredo greets her and "introduces" her to Claudia.
Veronica sits with a guest when Martin pops up from behind and gives her a flower.
Pablo reminds Mariana that he'll be returning to Mina Escondida tomorrow. Mariana knows but she wants to at least enjoy the party. Pablo lets her know that its urgent for him to return and Mariana tells him that you'd think that he would have found something interesting there. Could she at least know what it was? Oh, if only she knew...
Montse, Marina, and Pablo congratulate the lovebirds. Pablo thanks Martin for telling him about Mina Escondida. He tells Martin that he fell in love. "Really??" Martin asks. "Yeah, it's a magical place, and besides I found the most prettiest turquoise blue.." Pablo tells Martin. Pablo tells Martin that he'll tell him about that later. Veronica takes Martin to introduce him to some friends. Montse is all happy for Veronica. Montse will be even happier when Pablo gives Mariana her engagement ring. Pablo leaves.. and him leaving like that at the mention of engagement should be a red flag for Mariana that he's just not that into you...
Mina Escondida
Club Prado Castelo
Martin and Veronica hug and she tells her that she loved all his surprises and his proposals. He calls her "Salome" and Veronica is a little offended by this. Salome was a bad woman who asked for someone's head. Veronica sweetly asks him to not call him that. Salma, Jorge, and Virginia show up. The family will take a portrait. Salma asks Veronica and Virginia about their pendants. Martin asks what pendants and Virginia explains that Jorge gave it to them when they were legally adopted. Virginia has a pendant on (which obviously belongs to Veronica. The viper must have taken it from Veronica's room and when Veronica wasn't looking). Veronica explains that she couldn't find her pendant. She had it with her the day Salma asked them to wear it but now she couldn't find it. Salma whines and tells Veronica that she should have been more careful and blah blah. Veronica apologizes and says that it's probably somewhere with her things but since they had to come to the party she couldn't keep on looking for it. Jorge tells Veronica that he'll have another one made for her. Virginia whines that Veronica did wrong in losing her pendant after Salma reminded them how important they were. Veronica tells Salma that she did want to wear it. She tells Jorge that it was important to her. She feels bad about not having it. Jorge tries to calm things down and Salma continues to whine about it. Veronica wants to take a look at the pendant around Virginia's neck. But Virginia won't let her take a look and covers the pedant up with her hand. Veronica insists on seeing it because her pendant had a scratch on it. Veronica takes a look at the pendant and tells Virginia that the pendant Virginia is wearing is hers. Virginia tells Veronica that she too scratched it a while ago. Is Veronica accusing her of stealing it? Martin the idiot leaves instead of sticking around until Veronica gets to the bottom of this. Veronica says that it's strange that causally the scratch on the pedant is the same. Virginia tells Veronica that she didn't want to make her have a bad moment and if she wants the pedant then here you go. Virginia yanks it off and gives it to Veronica. Virginia tells Veronica that jewelry isn't important to her. Well, they aren't important to Veronica either but this one is because when Jorge gave it to her he told her that she'd be like a daughter. Salma tells Veronica they'll talk about this later and not to make a scene in front of her friends. Jorge and Salma leave. And here is when Virginia shows her claws because when Veronica asks her what she gets in ruining this moment for her, Virginia tells Veronica to her face that what she gets is making Veronica have these bad moments.
Martin tells Alfredo that Veronica is such a contradiction. She's driving him crazy. Sometime she makes him feel she's an angel and other times she makes him feel that he's mistaken. He tells him that things happen that make him hate her. Alfredo tells him that he told him that he'd go crazy with all of this. Claudia shows up and asks if everything is alright. Martin replies yes. Claudia reminds Martin that she's his friend and will always be there as she strokes his chin seductively. Veronica sees this and gets jealous and asks if she's interrupting. Claudia replies that she isn't and that she was only congratulating him. Claudia congratulates Veronica too. Veronica sarcastically tells Claudia that she can see Claudia is so affectionate when she congratulates. Martin gets upset and asks Veronica what's up. First she makes Virginia feel bad and now Claudia. Veronica looks ashamed and hurt with his words. Alfredo tells Martin that it's normal for Veronica to react this way because she hardly knows Claudia. He tells his friend that he can't have too much confidence with someone not even if she's his friend. Veronica thanks Alfredo for backing her up but says that Martin is right. Veronica apologizes to Claudia. Veronica says that it's absurd that she get upset when Martin has just proposed to her in front of everyone. Claudia and Alfredo leave for a drink. Now alone, Veronica asks Martin to forgive her. She explains that Virginia made her feel bad. He asks her if it's true that the pedant is her. Veronica swears that it is. She doesn't know how it got into Virginia's hands but it belongs to her. He mumbles something which I don't quite get except for the end where he says something about her driving him crazy. She apologizes to him. She wanted this day to be perfect. He tells her that we can't control everything. People won't always behave like we want. Veronica is puzzled and asks what the heck he's talking about. She tells him that she thinks she's the one that will go crazy with his comments. Hey, Veronica these comments should be red flags for you.... They are interrupted when someone comes to congratulate them. Veronica then notices Emi wandering around drunk. Veronica tells Martin that she thinks she saw Emi. But didn't she say that he wouldn't come? Martin asks. Veronica says she was probably mistaken. Veronica tells Martin that they should just forget everything. Martin kisses her.
Mariana and Virginia chat. Virginia gets upset because Mariana backs up Veronica. Mariana wants Virginia to understand that in these events the bride is always so nervous. Virginia acts innocent and says that if Veronica treated her like this now, imagine how she'll treat her the day of the wedding.
Martin asks for everyone's attention and calls Veronica to his side for a surprise. Martin tells Veronica that he told her that he'd give her all she deserves. And the first thing that a queen should have is a horse. The workers bring out a horse which Martin has named Salome. "Salome?" Veronica asks. She tells Martin it's too much. Virginia fumes over the expensive gift and Mariana mentions to Pablo how romantic the gift is. Well, Pablo thinks all horses are the same but if Mariana wants he could give her a pony... Jorge now knows why Martin wanted another horse. Martin tells Veronica that on this day he gives her something that she loves the most. Something that unities them. He introduces the horse Salome to everyone. Claudia can't stand all this anymore and wants to leave. Alfredo reminds her that he told her to find someone else or she'll suffer.
AVANCES: Claudia in sexy lingerie in a place that I dare not mention; Emi wants a rematch with Martin right then and there at the engagement party; MUST SEE TV.
Hotel / Bar
Virginia
and Martin continue their little chat outside the hotel/bar. Virginia
doesn't want Martin to mention her relationship with Daniel at home
because it would cause problems and she wants to protect Daniel from
them. She goes on to tell Martin that no one is to blame for being poor
and that what is important to her is that Daniel is a hard worker. And we all know Virginia knows from personal experience that he is a "hard worker".... Martin
won't mention Virginia's relationship with Daniel. Martin's cellphone
rings. It's Veronica. Virginia leaves so Martin can talk with Veronica.

Casa De Botel, Magdalena tells Padre Juan that when she recovered she
wanted to go back for her daughter and even though she tried. Well, she
told him what happened... Padre Juan doesn't know what to say. He tells
her that God knows what he does and that everything will be fine.
Magdalena thanks him for comprehending her and tells him that she has
suffered all these years not knowing about her daughter and worse of all
imagining what the bastard father could have done to her daughter.
Padre Juan tells Magdalena that they can't question what God does and
that Botel is right. If Botel hadn't taken her to the hospital then she
would have died. Padre Juan tells Magdalena that God is giving her the
financial possibility to search for her daughter.
Casa De Claudia
Claudia
returns home hungover from getting drunk at the restaurant. She gets a
message letting her know there will be a meeting early the next day.
She's not to happy about it and asks herself why she has to work soooo
much if she'll end up marrying Martin in the end. The alcohol is obviously not letting her think straight... She
takes out her cream and I cringe dreading another scene with her
showing her leg and putting cream on... She asks God to give her a
sign... and I ask to be spared a scene with her putting cream on her leg all provocatively...
Street
Virginia
and Daniel have a little car trouble. While Daniel fixes the car,
Virginia calls up Claudia to let her know she's invited to the
engagement party. Virginia asks Claudia if she'll go. Claudia can't
leave Martin at the time like this and besides Claudia said she cared
for Martin only as a friend. Claudia wonders if this is the sign God is
sending her. Claudia tells Virginia that she'll be there. Virginia
reminds Claudia that they don't know each other. Virginia hangs up and
says to herself that Veronica will have an unforgettable engagement
party. Ugh..Claudia does stroke her leg putting a little cream on and I want to close my eyes..
Casa De Botel
At
Casa De Botel, Botel is afraid the bastard husband will find Magdalena
and kill her. Magdalena says that the anguish of not knowing about her
daughter doesn't let her live. She knows it won't be easy to find her
but she can't just not go and look for her. Padre Juan tells her that
God is opening a path and that he'll pray for her and for her daughter.
Casa De Demetrio
Outside
Casa De Demetrio, Nanciyaga steps outside in her nightgown and Padre
Juan reprimands her coming outside dressed liked that. He doesn't want
the townspeople to talk crap about her. He sends her home to change and
Nanciyaga tells him that she lives there. She tells him that her
"patron" told her to live there until he came back. The "patron" also
told her to leave things as they are. Padre Juan can't believe it and
says he'll write a letter to Martin. Telling him what?? To have the place cleaned up?? He tells Nanciyaga to get dressed and to come with him to the church. For what?? So she can confess her sin of coming outside in her nightgown?? Oh Padre... She'll do as told but doesn't want him to get mad at her.
Casa De Montse
Montse
is happily painting away to music when Mariana and Pablo enter. Montse
and Mariana are happy to see each other. Montse asks what happened. Why
did they return so soon? Marina tells Montse how terrible that place
was. Montse knew that an adventure in the jungle wasn't for Mariana and
Pablo agrees. Montse wants to know all about their trip. How was that
little French Hotel?
Casa De Cresencio
At
Casa De Cresencio, Blanquita calls up to Ana Perla and tells her to
hurry up or they'll be late. Abuelo the dog hater doesn't like seeing
Onix inside the house and on his couch out of all places. He notices the
cut on Polo's hand and asks him about it. Polo sees Manuel entering the
room and gets all nervous. Polo doesn't give a straight answer as to
where he got the cut. Manuel tells Abuelo that Polo wanders around town
like a dog without an owner and who knows where he could have gotten the
cut. Blanquita tells Abuelo that Polo cut himself with a knife and
Abuelo wants to know what Polo was doing with a knife. Polo looking at
Manuel tells Abuelo that he heard that a man without a knife is not a
man. Abuelo asks him where the heck he heard such a nonsense and turns
around and looks accusingly at Manuel.
Pierre's Hotel
Outside
of Pierre's hotel, Pierre instructs a young man named Julio to make
sure there is enough food in the pantry. Pierre wants everything to be
fantastic when the newlyweds arrive. Pierre comments on how marvelous
love is and how far away it is from him. Julio suggests Pierre find a
girlfriend in town but Pierre thinks his heart should choose his love
because if his eyes were to choose he'd marry all of the women in town
since they are all so pretty. Pierre asks Julio about him. Does he like
anyone? Whatever happened to curiosity killed the cat, Pierre... Julio
admits he likes Blanquita but doesn't want Pierre to tell anyone
especially his chess partner. Pierre tells Julio be careful because
Cresencio and Manuel are to be watched out for.
Casa De De Cresencio
Ana
Perla comes downstairs. Ana Pearla, Blanquita, Polo, and Onix leave.
But not before Manuel threatens Polo behind Abuelo's back with a throat
cut signal to not blab or else. Abuelo whines that until a tragedy
occurs people won't realize that kids shouldn't be out on their own. Shut up, Abuelo...
Casa De Montse
Pablo
tells Montse and Mariana that he has to leave because he has things to
do. He tells them he'll return to the jungle tomorrow. Montse tells
Pablo that he won't be able to leave because on Friday the Prado Castelo
will announce Martin and Veronica's engagement.
Club Prado Castelo
Martin rides Sanson and thoughtbubbles that he met Veronica thanks to Sanson. He'll tame Sanson just like Veronica. What a jerk... Jorge
shows up and Martin gets off Sanson. Martin tells Jorge that he wants
to buy a horse. He would like to buy Sanson. Jorge tells Martin that he
has other horses that aren't as fierce as Sanson but Martin wants
Sanson. He likes the challenge of taming him and having him eating sugar
from his hand. Martin tells Jorge he wants to buy another fierce horse.
They leave to go and look at the other horses.
Casa De Prado Castelo
In
the living room, Salma and Virginia look through magazines and Salma as
usual treats Veronica like a crap by telling her "we are here helping
you with your wedding and there you are looking sooo bored." Veronica
apologizes and explains that she was at the office all day since Emi
didn't show up. She had to do all his work. Virginia chimes in and
explains that Emi didn't go to work because he isn't feeling well. Yeah he wasn't feeling well because the pathetic jerk was hungover after his little drinking binge... Salma doesn't want Virginia and Veronica to argue. Salma asks Veronica if she asked Martin about his guests for Friday.
Veronica is confused. What is happening on Friday? Virginia tells
Veronica that it's her engagement party. The one she told her about.
Veronica says that Virginia didn't tell her anything but Virginia swears
she did. Virginia tells Veronica that she asked Martin about his
guests. His guests will be Alfredo and Claudia his assistant. "Claudia
is coming?" Veronica asks. Veronica asks Virginia when she spoke to
Martin. Virginia explains she spoke to him the night before. She ran
into him when coming out from the "charity dinner". Veronica tells Salma
that she didn't know about this. She hasn't even spoken to Martin.
Doesn't Salma think she should know these things? Salma tells Veronica
that she thinks Virginia did tell her about it but Veronica didn't pay
attention to her. "If we are taking the time to prepare things for you
it is because you don't like it and have no idea how to do it" Salma
tells Veronica. "And we are doing it right because we'll have important
guests that day" Virginia says. Veronica tells Salma she wants something
simple and intimate. She doesn't want a big thing. She's not interested
in those special guests. It's not a public relations meeting after all.
Salma the snob tells Veronica that she's obviously a Prado Castelo by
name only because someone with their last names can't just do whatever
so they'll do things HER way. Veronica says okay fine but she asks that
Salma be the one to inform her things. Salma wants Veronica to remember
that she lives in the Prado Castelo world. Oh so now they have their own world...what S.N.O.B...
She asks Veronica and Virginia to not argue anymore. Salma tells
Veronica and Virginia that what would be great would be if the two of
them would wear the pendant Jorge gave them. Virginia is cara de oh
snap what will I do now. Virginia tries to get out of wearing the
pendant while Veronica thinks it's a good idea. Veronica gets all
sentimental talking about the pendant. Jorge gave it to them the day
they were legally adopted into the family. Veronica says it was a
beautiful day for her and she's sure it was for Virginia as well and
Salma for the first time actually talks sweetly to Veronica and tells
her that it was a special day for them as well. Virginia doesn't think
it will be a good idea to wear the pendants because Veronica could get
all sentimental and cry and mess up her makeup and everything has to
perfect, no? Veronica thanks her for her concern and says that she'll
control herself that day. Salma asks them to go and look for the
pendants so she can send them to the jeweler to have them cleaned.
Flashback
Virginia
recalls being in bed with a shirtless Demetrio and giving him the
pendant so he'd have something of gold to remember her by. He kisses her
and thanks her and swears that he'll have it with him at all times and
that way he'll have her close all the time.
Virginia
comes back to reality and Salma asks her what's wrong. Virginia says
they'll do as asked and wear the pendants. Veronica leaves to go and
call Martin. Veronica asks Virginia where she ran into him. Virginia
replies that she ran into him at the bar with his friend Alfredo. Didn't
he tell her? Yeah he did tell her he was with Alfredo but not where.
Veronica leaves. Salma thinks that Virginia doesn't want to wear the
pendant because it doesn't bring back good memories of her childhood.
Virginia says it's not only that but she thinks the pendant makes her
and Veronica the same and they are sooooo different. Besides, Virginia
does have Salma's blood, unlike Veronica. Salma asks Virginia to wear
the pendant for her and for Jorge and not for Veronica. Virginia says
that if it's so important to Salma then she'll do it.
Casa De Martin
Martin
stares at the V shaped pendant as he has a glass of wine at home.
Veronica calls him and asks him if he is working. He tells her he's not
and that he was thinking about her. She tells him that Virginia
mentioned that they ran into each other the night before. He tells her
that Virginia surprised him with the news of the engagement party.
Veronica tries to explain that she had to tell him but... Martin tells
her not to worry about it. He'll do whatever makes her happy. Veronica
tells him that it'll be one of those ostentatious parties. Veronica has
found her V shaped pendant in her jewelry box and takes it out and looks
at it. Veronica tells Martin that she would have preferred something
simple but it was Salma's idea and she couldn't tell her no. Martin
tells Veronica that he images what it cost Veronica to not want to be
treated like a queen. Veronica tells him that "now he is getting to know
her". The door is a little ajar and Virginia eyes the pendant that
Veronica is holding. And we all can guess what will happen next....
Casa De Botel
The
contract for the sell of the gold has arrived and Padre Juan gives it
to Botel and Magdalena. Padre Juan doesn't understand how they'll do it
to send the gold out of Mina Esconidada. Botel says they'll risk it
using Uspin's boat service. Hmmm...something tells me that something will go wrong...
Club Prado Castelo
At
the engagement party, Montse asks Salma where Emi is and Salma replies
that he won't attend because he had to go on a business trip. A business trip with the bottle, perhaps?
Meanwhile,
Emi is fencing aggressively with Nicolas who chews him out for almost
killing him. Emi explains that he has too much anger to behave like a
gentlemen. Nicolas goes to change for the party. Virginia feels sorry
for him because he's probably still not feeling well because of
Veronica. Emi is a jerk as usual with Virginia and asks her how many
times he has to tell her that 1. he doesn't want her to pity him and 2.
he doesn't want to talk about Veronica. Virginia apologizes and tells
him that Salma told her that he won't attend the engagement party. He
asks her why she wants him to go. So he can humiliate himself?? So he
sees how the woman he loves leaves his hands??? News Flash To Emi: She was never in your hands you jerk... Virginia
makes a face as if she is hurt by his words and the big jerk tells her
not to make that face. If she can't handle his response then don't come
asking him questions. He leaves but Virginia follows. She tells him that
he should attend the party so he can show Veronica that this doesn't
affect him. Emi tells Virginia that Veronica knows how he feels. There
is no point in pretending not to be affected when deep down inside he
is. Virginia wants Emi to not let Veronica and Martin see him defeated.
She wants Emi to make it clear to Veronica and Martin who Emiliano Prado
Castelo is. A man who is the owner of his feelings and his masculinity.
She leaves him rather pensive.

Pablo reminds Mariana that he'll be returning to Mina Escondida tomorrow. Mariana knows but she wants to at least enjoy the party. Martin
calls everyone's attention and thanks them all for attending. He thanks
Jorge and Salma for receiving him. He calls Veronica to his side.
Mariachis show up and sing. Luckily, Demetrio bit the dust or else we'd have to deal with Pablo Montero singing again... We
get a flashback of when Martin and Veronica met; their second meeting;
when Martin brought her flowers; when they kissed at the restaurant, and
other moments they've had. After the song ends, Martin asks Veronica to
marry him and gives her the engagement ring. Veronica of course accepts
to marry him. Applause all around. Martin puts the ring on Veronica's
finger. Claudia reluctantly has to applaud although we know she's fuming
on the inside. The two lovebirds kiss. Jorge goes over towards Veronica
and Martin and tells Martin that he hopes that he'll make Veronica
happy. Martin hopes so too and says he hopes he'll be the husband
Veronica deserves. Salma and Virginia come over to look at the ring.
Salma congratulates Veronica. Virginia does too. The vipers leave and
Jorge hugs Veronica. Veronica tells Jorge that this is the best present -
his hug and affection.
Salma
and Virgina talk about the expensive ring. Salma says she was mistaken
with Martin. He's not that wild as she thought. "Well, it wouldn't be
right for the owner of a gold mine to give a cheap ring.." Virginia
says. Virginia laments that the ring ended up on Veronica's finger.
Salma who is delusional promises Virginia that when Virginia marries
Emi, the parties will be double spectacular. Keep dreaming, Salma...

Perla tells Blanquita and Polo that it's been a few days and Pablo
still hasn't come back. Blanquita tells Ana Perla not to make too much
illusions that Pablo will return so then she won't be as disappointed.
Ana Perla tells her cousins that she thinks about Pablo all the time.
Blanquita and Polo will pray so Pablo will return. Ana Perla thanks Polo
for being so brave and for having sacrificed himself for her. Polo
tells her that he'd do it again. Blanquita tells Ana Perla to not be so
sad. Ana Perla mentions that she doesn't know what she'll do to be
without Pablo.
Club Prado Castelo

snap. Montse has been looking through Pablo's sketches. Pablo tells her
that it's only that - sketches. Montse hopes they don't stay as
sketches only. Montse mentions one of the sketches and asks who the
sketch is of. She has the face of the angel. Pablo tells Montse that he
drew an image he saw at the church. Montse laughs and says that it's
good that it's the face of a saint or else Mariana would be sooo
jealous...
Martin and Veronica hug and she tells her that she loved all his surprises and his proposals. He calls her "Salome" and Veronica is a little offended by this. Salome was a bad woman who asked for someone's head. Veronica sweetly asks him to not call him that. Salma, Jorge, and Virginia show up. The family will take a portrait. Salma asks Veronica and Virginia about their pendants. Martin asks what pendants and Virginia explains that Jorge gave it to them when they were legally adopted. Virginia has a pendant on (which obviously belongs to Veronica. The viper must have taken it from Veronica's room and when Veronica wasn't looking). Veronica explains that she couldn't find her pendant. She had it with her the day Salma asked them to wear it but now she couldn't find it. Salma whines and tells Veronica that she should have been more careful and blah blah. Veronica apologizes and says that it's probably somewhere with her things but since they had to come to the party she couldn't keep on looking for it. Jorge tells Veronica that he'll have another one made for her. Virginia whines that Veronica did wrong in losing her pendant after Salma reminded them how important they were. Veronica tells Salma that she did want to wear it. She tells Jorge that it was important to her. She feels bad about not having it. Jorge tries to calm things down and Salma continues to whine about it. Veronica wants to take a look at the pendant around Virginia's neck. But Virginia won't let her take a look and covers the pedant up with her hand. Veronica insists on seeing it because her pendant had a scratch on it. Veronica takes a look at the pendant and tells Virginia that the pendant Virginia is wearing is hers. Virginia tells Veronica that she too scratched it a while ago. Is Veronica accusing her of stealing it? Martin the idiot leaves instead of sticking around until Veronica gets to the bottom of this. Veronica says that it's strange that causally the scratch on the pedant is the same. Virginia tells Veronica that she didn't want to make her have a bad moment and if she wants the pedant then here you go. Virginia yanks it off and gives it to Veronica. Virginia tells Veronica that jewelry isn't important to her. Well, they aren't important to Veronica either but this one is because when Jorge gave it to her he told her that she'd be like a daughter. Salma tells Veronica they'll talk about this later and not to make a scene in front of her friends. Jorge and Salma leave. And here is when Virginia shows her claws because when Veronica asks her what she gets in ruining this moment for her, Virginia tells Veronica to her face that what she gets is making Veronica have these bad moments.
Martin tells Alfredo that Veronica is such a contradiction. She's driving him crazy. Sometime she makes him feel she's an angel and other times she makes him feel that he's mistaken. He tells him that things happen that make him hate her. Alfredo tells him that he told him that he'd go crazy with all of this. Claudia shows up and asks if everything is alright. Martin replies yes. Claudia reminds Martin that she's his friend and will always be there as she strokes his chin seductively. Veronica sees this and gets jealous and asks if she's interrupting. Claudia replies that she isn't and that she was only congratulating him. Claudia congratulates Veronica too. Veronica sarcastically tells Claudia that she can see Claudia is so affectionate when she congratulates. Martin gets upset and asks Veronica what's up. First she makes Virginia feel bad and now Claudia. Veronica looks ashamed and hurt with his words. Alfredo tells Martin that it's normal for Veronica to react this way because she hardly knows Claudia. He tells his friend that he can't have too much confidence with someone not even if she's his friend. Veronica thanks Alfredo for backing her up but says that Martin is right. Veronica apologizes to Claudia. Veronica says that it's absurd that she get upset when Martin has just proposed to her in front of everyone. Claudia and Alfredo leave for a drink. Now alone, Veronica asks Martin to forgive her. She explains that Virginia made her feel bad. He asks her if it's true that the pedant is her. Veronica swears that it is. She doesn't know how it got into Virginia's hands but it belongs to her. He mumbles something which I don't quite get except for the end where he says something about her driving him crazy. She apologizes to him. She wanted this day to be perfect. He tells her that we can't control everything. People won't always behave like we want. Veronica is puzzled and asks what the heck he's talking about. She tells him that she thinks she's the one that will go crazy with his comments. Hey, Veronica these comments should be red flags for you.... They are interrupted when someone comes to congratulate them. Veronica then notices Emi wandering around drunk. Veronica tells Martin that she thinks she saw Emi. But didn't she say that he wouldn't come? Martin asks. Veronica says she was probably mistaken. Veronica tells Martin that they should just forget everything. Martin kisses her.
Mariana and Virginia chat. Virginia gets upset because Mariana backs up Veronica. Mariana wants Virginia to understand that in these events the bride is always so nervous. Virginia acts innocent and says that if Veronica treated her like this now, imagine how she'll treat her the day of the wedding.
Martin asks for everyone's attention and calls Veronica to his side for a surprise. Martin tells Veronica that he told her that he'd give her all she deserves. And the first thing that a queen should have is a horse. The workers bring out a horse which Martin has named Salome. "Salome?" Veronica asks. She tells Martin it's too much. Virginia fumes over the expensive gift and Mariana mentions to Pablo how romantic the gift is. Well, Pablo thinks all horses are the same but if Mariana wants he could give her a pony... Jorge now knows why Martin wanted another horse. Martin tells Veronica that on this day he gives her something that she loves the most. Something that unities them. He introduces the horse Salome to everyone. Claudia can't stand all this anymore and wants to leave. Alfredo reminds her that he told her to find someone else or she'll suffer.
It's
nighttime. Veronica tells Martin again that all this is too much. He
tells her that he doesn't think anything is too much for her. Besides he
told her uncle that he'd treat her like she deserves. She tells him
that she loved the horse. He tells her to be careful because the horse
has the same attitude as Sanson who he happened to buy also. Veronica
tells Martin how special Sanson is because thanks to Sanson she met him.
It's also special to Martin. Veronica can only think of how they'll do
everything together. Just then Emi shows up and crashes the party. He's
drunk and wants to makes a toast for the bride and groom. Montse
comments to Salma about Emi supposedly being away on trip and on how Emi
looks drunk. Salma tries to stop his son from making a scene but it's
useless so she runs to Daddy Jorge to stop Emi. Emi tells Veronica he
has to congratulate her. It's a beautiful horse that Martin gave her. It
reminded him of the day that his father gave them their own horses.
Doesn't she remember? That day they promised they'd be together always
and no one would separate them. But everything was a lie. Veronica asks
him what the heck he's talking about. Emi mentions how there have been
many men who have gotten in between them. Veronica gets angry and tells
him to shut up before he says something that he'll regret. But he already has, Veronica.. Emi
wants to toast because Martin doesn't care that his fiancee is a....
Martin has had it and yells at Emi to stop it already. Emi asks Martin
if he really wants to marry Veronica. "Yes I do" Martin tells Emi
getting all up on Emi's face. Emi tells him that he did good in
naming the horse Salome because Veronica is like that - a seductress and
a deceiver. Martin grabs Emi by the lapels and looks all crazy eyes at
him and tells him to stop it. Veronica has tears in her eyes.
AVANCES: Claudia in sexy lingerie in a place that I dare not mention; Emi wants a rematch with Martin right then and there at the engagement party; MUST SEE TV.

@Kirby - glad to help. I think Martin did take notice of the argument. But his mind is already set about Veronica - we have to suspend our disbelief about his apparent lack of inquisitiveness, for the sake of this storyline. Tighten up that beanie.

He owns a construction company and I think we have to assume he has done well for himself, since he can afford to even work on charity projects, as mentioned in previous episodes. But I think a construction company is hardly on par with a prestigious chain of jewelry stores and other businesses owned by the Prado Castelos, and nothing says RICH like a mine of gold. But you are right, he sure is blowing his money, because he just barely inherited the mine and it is only now beginning to produce decent amounts of gold.

4) Allowing the leech to caress HIS FACE (!!) to "comfort" him, again, in full view of everyone
5) Getting on VERONICA's case about "being rude" to said leech
6) And there were many more red flags
It's frustrating that she doesn't see any of these and is blindly continuing into, not a "hell of a marriage" in a good way, but into the marriage from hell in the worst way.

Thanks for that fabulous fill-in, Mauricio. It's a little hard to root for the "love" between Martin and Ver at this point. Waiting for the jungle magic to kick in.

This was a good episode. I loved how we got some backstory on the pendants. Martin should have stuck around until Veronica got to the bottom of Virginia stealing and wearing the pendant that belonged to Veronica but instead he just left.

Carlos - You are so right that Martin does not get a pass. He is just as bad or worse than the others. I'm not liking his double meanings with the things he tells Veronica and with what he has planned. He will sure be sorry when he finds out the truth.
La Paloma - Demetrio worked for the Prado Castelo's as the administrator. Demetrio and Virginia must have met either at the company or at the house when Demetrio went there for business.

I have to agree that all men in TNs suck! Certainly in this one... maybe Alfredo is ok? The guy who works at the club who congratulated Vero on her engagement? We have yet to meet one guy in this show that's worthy of... anyone or anything!
Re Martin and Vero and the red flags, I think if you are going to watch this at all it requires the special caray caray beanie. Completely unbelievable that anyone as smart as Veronica is supposed to be would marry a guy that she's known, what-- for a weekend? And I think of how we'll have to sit through him hurting her, him finding out his screw up, her leaving him and her winning him back (well, at least that is what my TN experience has taught me-- it's not a spoiler, just an assumption).... Thank goodness you guys are so entertaining or I would definitely not have the patience for this.
And I'm really bothered by stupid Pablo. At least Martin is openly and aggressively trying to be an schmuck. Pablo should have broken up with Marianna when she first started talking about getting married, but certainly after meeting Ana Perla. Definitely schmuck material. My favorite character might just be Blanquita right now.
