Lo Imperdonable #21 Mon 6/15/15 I liked you better when you were delirious, Crazy Marty.

Nanciyaga knows her stuff.

Even before the padre shows up with the penicillin, the herbal remedies have taken effect and Crazy Marty's fever has broken.  He still has a large green leaf draped rakishly over his brow and he is hurting from the big owie in his belly, but he is recovering his paranoia.

In his conversation with the padre, he denies that his defense of Verónica is proof that he loves her – he would have done the same for anyone.  And yes, maybe she DOES love him, but she's still going to get what's coming to her.

Vero won't leave Marty's side.  In the night, he actually takes pity on her and invites her into his bed so she can get some sleep.  As they snuggle, he thought-bubbles his wish that things could always be like this and he didn't have to live poised between love and hate.

Don't be distracted by my black vulture feather bow and the insane intensity of my gaze

Ginny works on convincing young Emi that she's not the whiny little drip he has always believed her to be.  And now that Dr. F has certified that her ticker can take it, she wants to start working with Emi at Prado Castelo.  Jorge opposes the idea.  Besides, he is angry that Ginny didn't keep the appointment with the other specialist, that is, the REAL cardiologist.

Later, however, Ginny whines to Salma and Salma uses her all her surgically enhanced charms to convince Jorge to let Ginny play in the family business.  Nobody actually believes she is capable, physically, emotionally or intellectually, of contributing to the firm in any real way.  Ginny overhears Jorge, Emi and Salma admitting this and her feelings seem hurt.  Boo hoo hoo.

Claudia gives Emi her number (although he would have had it soon enough)

Claudia goes to Prado Castelo in person and explains to Emi and Jorge that the shipment of gold is being flown in to the city.  She and Emi give each other the eye, she gives him her card, and they agree that they will both meet the shipment when it arrives.

It's still pouring in Mina Escondida

As Blanquita and Ana Perla huddle in a rocky shelter, Blanquita passes along Pablo's message: he didn't go to Mexico to see his girlfriend, he went to break up with her.  (This would be news to Mariana, who, back in Mexico, is chattering happily about wedding preparations with her friend Ginny.) The feckless painter himself stands in the downpour holding out a pathetic bunch of daisies.  It's no use.  Ana Perla isn't ready to forgive him for the lies he has told her.

Crescencio and the kids can't get back to Pueblo Nuevo because of the storm, so they take shelter with Joaquín's family.  Joaquín tries to get Crescencio to face the truth about Manny.

Ana Perla tells Blanquita she hopes Pablo gets pneumonia... and then instantly regrets her words.  (Don't worry, Ana Perla.  He catches a little cold, but Dr. Nanciyaga fixes him right up with one of her herbal brews.)

Taking Shelter in Purgatory

Both Pablo and Manny the Hump end up in the cantina, seeking refuge from the rain.  Manny is at a disadvantage when he realizes he left his knife in Crazy Marty's gut.  Pablo hears about Manny's attack on Marty and ends up popping Manny in the face.

Do your duty!

Vero has been in town early this morning to report the attack to the police.  Now two young officers show up, prepared to do their job.  But when Marty says that the attacker is Manuel Álvarez, the officers turn pale.  He's the son of CRESCENCIO, the most POWERFUL MAN in town and everyone owes him something.  The fuereños are outraged – Manny attacked Vero and he tried to kill Marty ("He attacked me too," pipes up Pablo.)  They have WITNESSES.  They have the WEAPON!  Attention must be paid!

When the police leave, Verónica offers to check on the operations at the mine.  Crazy Marty snaps at her, telling her that it's not a place for women.  He has sent for a guy named Lorenzo.  (He used to work for Crescencio, but left because he wouldn't put up with Manny's abuse.)

Back in Mexico – Everybody Loves Vero

Alfredo warns Claudia not to get too excited about Emi because (hee hee) he's in love with Verónica.

Ginny also tries to cool Claudia's enthusiasm for Emi by reminding her about his obsession for Vero and his current focus on his work, to the exclusion of everything else.  "I don't know why men are like that," says Claudia.  "Martín was the same way, always working to help Demetrio get ahead – and what good did it do?  Demetrio ended up killing himself!"

And now it's Ginny's turn to cry, Ginny's turn to cry...

Ginny is gobsmacked by Claudia's careless revelation.  She begs for details, but Claudia says she doesn't know anything more.  Then she leaves the table to take a phone call.

Ginny, left alone, agonizes as she remembers the letter.  "It must be what pushed him over the edge."  She should never have told Demetrio she was marrying another man.  "It's my fault he's dead."  But why did he do such a stupid thing?  He was the only man she ever loved!

Claudia's call was from Botel.  The plane is arriving in a couple of hours.  She calls Emi so they can receive the shipment of gold together.  Then she says goodbye to Ginny, leaving her to stew in her own juices.  (And tears.  REAL ones.)

King Crescencio

Ana Perla is disconcerted to find Pablo waiting in her house and nothing short of terrified when her grandfather arrives home shortly afterward.  But she soon discovers that Pablo has sweet-talked Crescencio into having a family portrait painted.  Crescencio, in his white suit, dark scarf and broad-brimmed hat, is every inch the cacique.  Even Polo's dog Onix will be in the picture – at Crescencio's feet, to show that grandfather is the leader of the family.   Pablo strokes the old man's vanity by assuring him that many European kings were painted this way.

You can't touch an Álvarez!  Or maybe you can...

Manny bursts in, catches sight of Pablo and is ready to rumble.  But before he can rough anyone up, the two young cops we saw earlier appear on the scene. They are ARRESTING Manuel for attempted murder!  They have no choice.  If they don't do it, the fuereño will call in the federales.

Ana Perla weeps and begs them not to take her brother.  Crescencio is initially angry and defiant.  But now he accepts what seems inevitable.  He accompanies his son to a cave-like cell and tells him he can't help him – Manuel himself will have to pay for what he has done.

Shhh!  Don't let my wife know there's gold in the goldmine!

Crazy Marty, who has, by episode's end, completely reverted to his miserable self, tells this Lorenzo guy to be sure to keep Vero away from the mine and keep her in the dark about how much money it is worth.

Verónica gets a clue.

Vero goes to church to pray for her husband.  After nearly losing him, she realizes how much she loves him.

Padre Juan joins her and asks about her Martín.  She says he's better – well enough to argue with her! But she is worried about what the padre said the other said, that stuff about his belief in vengeance and "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth."  The way Marty is treating her, it seems as if he wants to take vengeance on her for something she did.  "Do you know if I'm right, Father?  Please tell me.  I need to understand why he treats me like this."

Avances:  None!  Seriously.

Thanks, NovelaMaven! Enjoyed your summary of all the action in our strange outpost.

Am I alone in finding most of our character exaggerated caricatures, or am I just stating the obvious? Not that they're not entertaining, in their own bizarre way.

Nanci needs to start selling her remedies online, unless they only work when they're freshly brewed. I liked seeing Crazy Marty carry on as though he didn't have any large green leaves plastered on his forehead and side.

It was amazing that Grumpy Gramps made Manuel go to the jail cell. Not sure how long he'll stay there, but every day he's locked away is a good day.

Thank you thank you NovelaMaven. I forgot and missed the first half last night so your recap saved the day. I missed what must have been the highlight of the show with Pablo punching manual labor. I really enjoyed grampa pervert telling manual labor that in essence "you got yourself into BIG trouble now boy" as they were locking him in the cavejail.
kj

what a great way to start my day...a snappy NoverlaMaven recap. Thanks so much. I especially enjoyed your subheadings.

Well, Dr. Nanciyaga, Medicine Woman has some awesome skilz.

What is up with Manuel ? Why is this guy always so angry ? Is it the headband?...too tight, perhaps ?

Dr. F....yes, that says it all.

NovelaMaven- I look your snarky take and description on this episode. Thank you.

I watched the episode and was glad I did since it was so satisfying watching Pablo punch Manuel and seeing him hauled off to cave jail. I'm sure he'll be out soon, but for the moment it's satisfying.

Could not believe that with all the evidence, the cops flat out refused to arrest Manny until they were threatened with the Federales.

Please, please let those two beyotches, Virginia and Claudia, concentrate on fighting each other over Emi. That would be so much fun, and would mean they'd be too busy to mess with Vero. She's got enough on her plate with the a**hole she married.

Could not believe when Marty continued to malign Vero's character by telling his head miner that Vero is another type of gold digger. Now, everyone in the mine will believe this crap. Ugh!

I love, not look.

Kirby: Martin still has his psycho revenge plot going full steam ahead against Veronica!

I'm looking forward to seeing his plan BACKFIRE when he looks like an idiot!

Even Y&R's Victor "You Got That" Newman was smarter in planning revenge plots, etc.,

Thanks, Novela Maven! Reading your re-telling of Manuel's incarceration was almost as fun as actually watching it.
At least Abuelo is not all bad - he is a dirty old perv, but he does have some sort of morals, IMO.

If Virginia ends up in Mina Escondida for some reason, I'm looking forward to see the two "Headbands" cross paths. I can see a lot of steamy disgusting rolls in the gold mine for them. And I have the feeling that Manuel won't care that much that she's an outsider.

Adriana- Ooh! The meeting of the headbands. That would certainly be something.

I laughed along with the Prado Castelo clan as they mocked Virginia's desire to work. Not sure what she was pouting about. This is the result of her expert acting all these years. Now they all think she's a useless weakling. Well done, Virginia.

Thanks for this fresh and funny titillating recap, NovelaMaven. Special thanks for your fair and compassionate treatment of Ginny as she came to the realization that Dimitrio killed himself and that she may have contribute to his tragic decision. She shed genuine tears and professed genuine regret. I hope that some of the harsh opinions of her expressed here soften up a bit.

"It's my fault he's dead."

"(And tears. REAL ones.) "

Who could not be affected by her grief?

I was wondering how long it would take for Martín to resume his quest for revenge and he revealed last night that he is truly committed and will not be deterred by any evidence (let alone THE TRUTH) that he just might be mistaken. Hey, after all, a promise is a promise.

Amazing that he is recuperating so quickly, especially since he was stabbed in the abdomen in a spot that almost guaranteed that his ascending colon was perforated and the ill-advised suturing would trap poop surely dumping into his abdominal cavity. He must be wired a bit differently than the rest of us... or perhaps Manuel is more nimble with a knife than we think. In any case it's at least a minor miracle that he is on the mend... or maybe Dr. Nanciyaga is not your run of the mill curandera and Padre Juan has divine suturing skills. Dr. Botel certainly could not have achieved any better result.

By the way, is it too early to be setting up a Crescencio table on the Patio? I'm guessing that he is redeemable.

Carlos

I giggled right from the start NovelaMaven. Loved it.

Though I don't understand why she stays with an abusive husband like her mother did, until he almost killed her, at least Veronica isn't in total denial but our wonderful galan has pulled a fast one and shut up the only person in the whole wide world that would have truthfully warned the girl. Is she gonna have to threaten to call Padre's big boss, worked with the popo.

Martin is tolerable only as a semi conscious prop.

The nerve of Pablo, really, the screwball can't help but perpetuate his lie, he does it because he thinks Ana Perla a mooneyed hick.

Didn't see Claudia eyeballing Emi coming.

Virginia, he killed himself cause he is nutty as his big bro so don't go power tripping. The tears a nice touch though.

Toss up for best kick in the teeth of the night. Manuel goes to jail or Virginia overhearing Jorge, Salma & Emi laughing when Jorge said he could have her separate the pencils at the office by color.

Vivi: The majic moment in the Prado C house was when they were all joking about maybe that Virgin.ia could sort the pencils by color, as I believe, she eavsedropped.

An co-worker told me many years ago that he always loops back after leaving a room to stand just barely out of sight to hear his post-departure comments. At the time I thought it soooo wierd, but in retrospect there are a lot of Virginias out there.

NovelaMaven, thanks for the marvelous recap. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. And yes, Marty is preferable when he's delirious.

Carlos, perhaps Nanciayaga's magic leaves draw out all of the poop floating around in Marty's abdomen but has transferred it to his brain.

I loved the scene where Ana Perla is giving Onix a head massage. Onix was really into it.

Nina, I read your last comment from the weekend's recap late last night. It gave me a good giggle and I'm ITA with your sentiments.

Barbara

Perhaps, I've been too hard on our engineer, he does have singularity of purpose and laser focus, fine if you are removing a splinter. Thing worries me, inflexible as he is, if someone tried to point out a structural design flaw contrary to his, he'd dismiss it outright. Hope he ain't building bridges.

Virginia's tears are only of interest to prove that the little lying beyoch can actually feel pain. May she have an abundant harvest of what she has sown.

Yup Tofie, I have known some squirrels before but Mart and Dimmy are up at the top of the tree.

I would like to know how Vsnake initially got her fangs into little Dr. Danny. Thus far, I really do feel sorry for him as he is astonishingly innocent to have a Doctorate.

I think Pablo actually does care about Ana P but doesn't know what to do with the 'Other' girl, who is home planning a wedding. Yikes!

Kirby..''There are a lot of Virginies out there.''. True and YIKES.....and they do not all wear headbands, so watch out.

Whoa! You guys are a hoot today!

La Paloma,

"Am I alone in finding most of our character exaggerated caricatures, or am I just stating the obvious? Not that they're not entertaining, in their own bizarre way."

My first reaction to this was that ALL TN characters are like this, but on reflection, I think you may be onto something, especially when it comes to our galán. Definitely broad strokes here. Who needs nuance? Let the BBC keep their stinkin' nuance!

(And yes, it was hilarious to see Crazy Marty apparently oblivious to the LARGE green leaves with which he was bedecked. Wouldn't you love to see the outtakes from that day on the set?)

Kirby,
So happy to oblige. There WERE some very satisfying moments in this episode, including Manny's long overdue comeuppance. I'm glad you and Tofie reminded us of the pencil sorting crack. They're not very nice people, those Prado C's, are they?

Susanlynn,
Headbands are fraught. That's all I'm gonna say about it.

"Nanciyaga, Medicine Woman" – I like it! (and will probably steal it)

I'm rather fond of "Dr. F" myself (the nickname, not the character). Simple is always best, I find.

Vivi,

I couldn't believe the cops were more frightened of the federales than of Crescencio and was pretty surprised that they ended up hauling Manny off to Cave Jail.

Maybe now Ginny will tell Salma that Claudia really is too vulgar after all. But it will be too late because now she can claim to be Emi's friend.

As for Marty maligning Vero after all they've just gone through together, he looks like a bigger jerk than ever. Vero keeps reading lines that say she loves him, but The Patio sees nothing lovable about him at all. (Maybe she should have gone to Europe. Alone.)

Adriana,

So happy you enjoyed the ride.

"he [was] a dirty old perv, but he [had] some sort of morals" – I think that would make a great epitaph, don't you?

The two headbands swapping spit? You think? hah.

Carlos,

"Is it too early to be setting up a Crescencio table on the Patio? I'm guessing that he is redeemable."

Hmm. It may be... unless we set it up in the Pavilion of the Tragically Flawed But Not Irredeemable, (a Pavilion that is likely to see a lot of traffic before we are done here).

It was a tough day for Ginny. I did try to do right by her.

Thanks for explaining why Marty's cure was so miraculous. (I wouldn't have put money on Botel being equal to the situation. Marty's odds were way better with a holy suturer and a curandera.)

tofie,

Loved your whole comment (as usual).

"Martin is tolerable only as a semi conscious prop."
Indeed.

As for Pablo's nerve – have you noticed what a compulsive flirt he is? The girls just can't resist old lettuce eyes.

Barbara,

What a creative explanation for Marty's behavior! Patio science at its best!

Ana Perla gives Onix a head massage? How did I miss that? I MUST go back and look for it!

Thanks to everyone for the nice words!

NovelaMaven..One of my favorite lines was ''Pablo pipes up.'' He is such a pipsqueak. It struck me funny. Meanwhile, back at the ranch , Girlfriend numero uno is making wedding plans. Focus, Pablo.

Is it rude to break up with someone via fax? Even that would be preferable to the scenario I am picturing when Mariana comes back to Mina Escondida to find her fiance in the arms of another woman who thinks he's single. Oh, Pablo. You dope.

Why even tell Ana Perla if Pablo wasn't going to tell her the truth? He's just stupid or mean. I lean stupid, but not so stupid he doesn't know who is funding his foray into the jungle or believing she would ever show up again. Poor, Ana Perla, whose relationship manual is a romance novel and wouldn't hurt a fly, will get suckered again.

NovelaMaven, a big YES for the epitaph.
And the "Headbands " will meet when the time comes for little miss Pink to visit her beloved cousin.

Carlos, a table on the patio for Crescencio? Does Marty have one yet? Not that he deserves it, but you know, we need a place to rest while watching his leaves covered chest.

Vivi,
A "rude" Dear Mariana fax would be a whole lot kinder than what Pablo is doing now. [Artists rarely come up smelling like roses in telenovelas, it seems to me.]

tofie,
Stupid or mean? I say Pablo's the kind of putz who believes his own story so he never has to confront the question. He'll keep on stringing Mariana along as long as he can (without admitting to himself that he's doing so) because he needs her support.

susanlynn,
Pipsqueak or putz, he's definitely not boyfriend material

Adriana,
I wonder about a visit to the prima. It seems pretty risky for Ginny to venture a visit to Mina Escondida. Hasn't Nanciyaga seen her photo in a locket or something? She is the definitive MALA MUJER, after all.

I believe Marty has a table, but the only one sitting there was Claudia. Now that she's making eyes at young Emi, there's a whole lot of room. :D

[Onix has quite a crowd at his table.]

Thank you Novela Maven and your title was right on. So true, now that Martin is on the mend, he's back to his old crazy self. How mush will Vero be able to take.

Loved Manuel going off to jail but I'm sure that he won't be there for very long. First thing when he gets out will be to go shopping for a new knife.

Dr. Carlos---Abdomen? I checked Wikipedia and Web MD. In both cases the abdomen is clearly shown to be in the front or stomach area of the body. Check out the video.
Martin was stabbed in the side not the front. Anyway, whatever---You are on your way out. You medical services are no longer needed as Dr. Nanci's magic leaves have taken over as the top medical cure. Besides if I needed treatment and had a choice I would choose Dr. Nanci each and every time. In fact, I might even fake being ill just to have her treat me.
the gringo

Perhaps had Manuel stabbed Martin in the prefrontal lobe, we'd have ourselves a chance at romance.

I believe that Pablo is serious about Ana Perla and is not out trying to string her along. He doesn't love Mariana, that was evident right from the start. His big problem is that she loves him and she thinks that he loves her. And---she got all the money, she holds the purse strings. Martin wants revenge but when Pablo breaks up with Mariana, there might be more than one revenge plot in this story.
the gringo

Wonderful recap!

You know I would like the character of Emiliano if he wasn't played by SS. With his intensity, crazy eyes and deep, rough voice, I'm just waiting for him to go BSC. Though the characters words and scenes say something else. I can forgive the jealousy. His instincts about Martin are right on even if seen through jealous eyes. He cried that he doesn't want to drink anymore...he is trying to build a relationship with Ginny after what Nana said. He is doing and saying all of the right things and yet I can't warm to him because of SS.

gringo,

I believe that Pablo believes what he is saying. His attraction to Ana Perla is very real, but he is still unable or unwilling to face Mariana and the consequences of breaking up with her. This is not how grown-ups are supposed to behave. And I guess we'll find out how vengeful Mariana turns out to be (I'd rather see her take up with Alfredo, for example, than get hung up on the Vengeance-Go-Round).

Carvivlie,

What a great point about the disconnect between the character of Emiliano and the actor playing him. For me, it's Sergio's rough, older man voice that is the sticking point. (I wonder if SS is even capable of playing anything other than a simmering rage monster.)

Carvivlie, couldn't have said it better. Emiliano is right about Martin and for having his crush, crushed, snapped back and attempting to resume a normal life pretty quick. I can't help but hate him for the slut shaming he done though. All things considered, he was played by Virginia, Martin and his mother like a fiddle. Wished I hadn't expected Martin to be the galan or Emiliano to be a baddie cause I see no redeeming qualities in Martin. Emiliano just needs to get away from Virginia and Claudia, both are golddiggers and don't give a flip about him. Actually, Martin should thank Emiliano for keeping the two occupied and away from his checkbook.

tofie

"Perhaps had Manuel stabbed Martin in the prefrontal lobe, we'd have ourselves a chance at romance."

hahahahahahahahahaha!

Yes, Carvivlie,I agree. The Emiliano character would have been perceived differently if played by a TRUE joven..perhaps Pablo Lyle or the actor playing Dr.F. (who played a sweet, soulful guy in LM whom we on the patio liked to refer to as Big Sexy.) SS has his schtick of throwing things and chewing up the scenery. I am getting grumpy old man vibe instead of the intended lovesick young galan.

Yesterday, my hubby saw Emi and his "mom" for the first time and hubby laughed hysterically for a few minutes. He thought it was a hoot. Lol. Anyhoo, Vero should trust her instinct about crazyMart. I can't wait for the turning point in the "vengenza" already.
Romy

If it was Sebastian Ruilli playing Emil I could see the love triangle part and I would be rooting for Emil.

Gee...Has there ever been a tn with less hombres you'd like to sit with at a table. At this point, I'd vote for the guy who is pining for Ana Perla...no, not Pablo.

carvivlie..I agree, but SR would be cast as the main galan and have to try to play that snarling, unlovable Brut.

Agree susanlynn, I would sit at Julio's table, or Uspin too. I would have like Ferdinando Valencia as Emil if he wasn't in QTPD right now.

I felt a bit of kinship with poor Manuel peering out through those bars as Crescencio assured him,

"Believe me, this hurts me more than it does you."

Seems like I've heard that before somewhere in my dim past.

My dear gringo,

Perhaps if you'd try visualizing the abdominal cavity in 3 dimension. I assure you, I've had first hand and hands on experience with stab wounds almost identical to the one that Martín received. Next!

Carlos

Carlos, When treating those stab wounds, did you ever use leaf therapy like Dr. Nanci, Medicine Woman?

Thanks Novela Maven for a great recap - loved your title and paragraph headings.

The comments are wonderful as well. I've been laughing out loud here at work and getting some strange looks from my companeros de trabajo.

I must give a shout out to Carlos for helping us with the medical treatments. And also to gringo for choosing Dr. Nanci as his favorite physician.

Dr Carlos, I knew I'd find you on this patio when I saw that Gretal Valdez, complete with headbands, was in the cast. Your kind words for such a meanie are remarkable. Have you ever seen her as a good girl, as in "Angel Rebelde"? I think I like her better that way.

Thanks so much NovelaMaven for such a wonderful recap of last nights events.

It was so satisfying watching Manuel being punched out then being hauled away off to that cave jail. Great scenes. BTW I loved how Manuel found himself unarmed then found out that he's not so brave without his little knife. He looked so afraid after Pablo punched him out and didn't even attempt to fight back.

I think Pablo feels like he owes Mariana a lot (since she has helped him with his career) and is so grateful to her that he finds it hard to break up with her.

BTW last time we saw Mariana she was sad and missing Pablo and Montse suggested they packed their bags and head over to Mina Escondida. So I assumed they would be going over there and was surprised to find out that they were still in the city.

That was funny how Salma used her charms to get what she wanted from Jorge. I knew that was what she was going to do when we saw that bedroom scene with them.

So Virginia really did love Demetrio. Those were REAL tears.

Sebastian Rulli can also definitely do crazy, mean, cold, uncaring and slut-shame like a pro. LQLVMR showed us that. He is even very believable as a rapist-of-his-wife.

Susanlynn,

"When treating those stab wounds, did you ever use leaf therapy like Dr. Nanci, Medicine Woman?"

No, but I'm sure that those patients would have all preferred those leaves to the temporary colostomies that they all required for their recoveries. Imagine what a distraction that would be for our maniac, Martín. Maybe it'd make vengeance less of a priority.

LoriLoo,

How good to see you here.

"Have you ever seen her as a good girl...?"

Well, yes, as Matilde (complete with headband) in CI,
although I think that I was initially the only one to identify her as such for quite a long time and she never quite caught on as a favorite for many of the ladies on the Patio.

Carlos

Novela Maven - I enjoyed the recape. You have of fun way of telling a story.

1.He (marty) is back in a** mode. As if he ever left it.
2.He dosen't have to live between love and hate. Get a clue stupid.
3. Manny goes to the clink Yahoo!!!!!!
4.Granpee cres is the biggest hypocrite in a hat.
5. If I didn't know What a little bitch she (virginia) is I'd feel something for her. But she had to much fun lying on ronny. I doubt this will change her. Shes going to have her hands full keeping creepy claudia away from Emi.
6.yes padre jaun knows the truth. Isn't there any priest that can stand up for whats right? Him telling veronica might save her life. She could be so into crazy marty, that a broken heart could do her in. And padre jaun could have stopped it and he didn't. I think God is a forgiving God, but I don't know about the catholic churuh on this tn.
Tofie- He could have her seperate pencils by color hahahahaha, thats funny. She brought it on herself, they laughed at her too. She did a good job of pretending to be sick. "Her poor weak heart". Boohoo.

Cave jail. Hahahaha, He can count rocks while he's there.

I found it odd that Salma would join in when Emiliano and Jorge made fun of Virginia not being able to do anything at work. It seemed out of character for her.

LoriLoo,
The comments (including yours) really ARE wonderful, aren't they? Thanks for stopping by. I think this is the first time we've watched a novela together.

Mauricio,
So glad you liked the recap. It was kind of a cool episode to write about and it was so satisfying to see Manuel decked and then locked up. He has always struck me as a coward, so I'm not surprised that without his knife, he seemed helpless. You're a little easier on Pablo than some of us. That's ok – the guy needs all the friends he can get!

Nina,
I'm curious to see how the padre dances around Veronica's direct question. He can't lie, but if he says, "That's a secret of the confessional," he would be confirming what she suspects although she would still have no idea WHY Marty feels as he does.

Re: Sorting pencils: watching Vsnakes face as she snooperheard the whole exchange, I wondered if she was feeling betrayed and degraded, or it was a hint of a smile of satisfaction knowing how completely she had fooled them all

I always wondered if there was a little bit more to Pablo than a girly artist. I guess we know now there is and he will punch someone in the face if required. In the manual case good for him.

Carlos,

I think you meant CME - Matilde was the kitchen help in love with Juan Soler - a mean girl that redeemed herself. And she wore her headband around her forehead.

Novela,

I've read you often but try my best to watch only one TN at a time, otherwise I'd be in front of the TV for 4 hours each night. I'm failing miserably at the moment as I'm very much into this one, and La Sombra.

Nina,

Your mention of the Cave Jail is great but are we to presume that Manual can indeed count?

Before I get tarred and feathered for 'girly'. I didn't know how to spell effiminate. I do now.
IE : few painters find side work as rodeo cowboys.

Anon 4:07: True SR can do crazy but that's not all he can do. Whereas SS's intensity and scene chewing only leads down one road.

Kirby,

"I wondered if she [Ginny] was feeling betrayed and degraded, or it was a hint of a smile of satisfaction knowing how completely she had fooled them all"

Maybe. I had the impression that Ginny was genuinely hurt by what she overheard.

As for calling Pablo a "girly artist," no te preocupes. I think SNL desensitized all of us with Hans & Franz and "the girly man" routine. :D

LoriLoo,
Re counting rocks in the Cave Jail, "..are we to presume that Manual can indeed count?"
Yeah, maybe not. Hahahaha.

This comment has been removed by the author.

LoriLoo,

Of course you're correct that I was referring to Matilde in CME (Too bad that she wasn't in CI, it wouldn't have hurt). Her initial attitude toward Renata was very similar to the way that Nanci regards Verónica.

In regard to some of the later comments yesterday. Put me down as viewing Ana Perla's little mole as a beauty mark and not some sort of ugly flaw.

Carlos

Carlos, I actually Ana Perla, she's actually COOL & a good person. Now let's see if she can have someone to LOVE her!

Verónica might do well to follow the example set by Nanciyaga:

Dress skimpily and carry a big machete.

Carlos

Wise advice, Dr. Carlos.

So. Sabre, knife, machete... is that a THEME I see lumbering in the middle distance?

@NovelaMaven - sorry for my late appearance here. It's my son's last week of school, and my second to last week at work before our fast-approaching move back to California. As always, your recap and asides were spot on, and so funny. I also really enjoyed all the reader comments. Everyone was on fire today.

Waaaah, that last comment - "lumbering in the middle distance...." hilarious.

....Big Machete....Hmmm we haven't seen Nanci being assaulted by Manual Labor have we?

Well we haven't seen any of Manuel's body parts floating down the river either...Hmmm

Funny how that works. :-)

Dear Latina,

I am always happy to see you here, whatever the hour. No doctor's notes or excuses from one's mother are ever required on The Patio.

That's a little bit of pressure you're dealing with, isn't it? Wishing you strength, patience and some good laughs to carry you through.

Ohhhh Shoot I now DUH...finally recognize Dr. Daniel from La Macarena or whatever. With Victoria Ruffo and the little skank who was leading her stepfather on. Yeah he was involved off and on with the Africa chick? The Maria Mother in Love Trap which is on here in FloriDuh right before this show.

If wacky manny can't count he'll have time to learn. I wish all of these padres would stand up against these confession sceamers and exspose them. They are literally getting away with murder on la sombra and the marty and veronica show. Since this is a tn ( really no real priest would tell because of the vows), but this TV , they can bend the rules.
Blow the lid off of these nasty lying psychopaths, cause they seem to be gettin away with being evil. Smug bastasds.

NovelaMaven, thanks for the recap. Sorry I am late to the party. Please save me a seat on the patio.

Great comments all around today. The one thing I found interesting is how AnaPerla pleaded for the cops not to take her brother away. QTH!!! Did she hear what he did? I know he's her brother, but she also knows how violent he is and should not doubt what he is being accused of. Maybe she acted that way to look good in front of Grandpa Cre? Who knows, I just found it a bit weird.

Hasta pronto

So did I find it weird. He's a bad bro.

CrazyMarty surely is crazy, I give him that. BUT he is an A $$ hole too . A really big obnoxious mean one. Hateful. Jerk. Surprised he has any friends. And if Vero continues to put up with him she looks like a neurotic little wacko for it CrazyMarty is making enemies with everyone.

Good morning everyone!

Kirby: How is Psycho Martin doing in his horrendous revenge plot ?

Steve: If I were planning on a revenge from hell I would be a bit smarter. IE: when the Mr. Debonaire from the French hotel dropped off an enormous suitcase from Salma, ostensibly containing medicine among other things, CrazyMarty was an ass to him and almost threw him out. Vero was understandably embarrased. He has alienated almost everyone around him.

Then we are given these pitious scenes where Crazyasshole is Soooo tormented because he luuuurves her but must keep his 'unbreakable vow'. We all know how those unbreakable vows work out don't we Grrrreta?

Now Crazydouchebag must spread himself a bit thin revenging on Vero and Manual Labor and possibly Grampa Perv too.

Of course Nanciyaga and his other paid worshipers dutifully obey his every command.

So CrazyMarty is only able to be an a-hole verbally to Vero and Father Juan and almost everyone else because he is still under the weather from the glorified mosquito bite Manual Labor inflicted on his ass. err side ab.

Old Father Juan wants to tell Vero so bad, but says he is forbid unless he sees she is in grave danger. I KNEW IT...There is a "break clause" in the unbreakable vow in case of eminent death or severe injury. The man upstairs is pretty darn clever on these vow thingys.

So as long as Crazy Boy is helpless as a newborn he is only a verbal threat to planet earth. I suppose a lesser chick would just stop feeding him.
