Bro, you're a hot mess La Sombra Del Pasado #85 06/15/2015

Confession Time: While I still dig Renato I have now developed a crush on Padre Jeronimo, don't judge me!

Now your recap:

We get to see a replay of Sev getting rid of Simoneta's body, and we see his arrival at Las Animas where Dominga and Mel are waiting for him to let him know that his wife has been trying to reach him. They both note that something about Sev looks off, he's sweating even though it's cold out and he just looks out of it. Yep,  committing murder will do that to you. Mel tells Dom that whatever is going on is none of their concern.

At the hospital Candela is throwing a fit because she can't get a hold of her husband, she tells Cris that he's probably off with his whore-which is technically true. He tells her that he's probably just busy with work stuff but she says that nothing is more important than being at the hospital with him.

Candela finally reaches Sev and he tells her that he won't be making a trip to the hospital, he will go in the morning, she questions where he was and he tells her that he was taking care of things around the hacienda and lost track of time. Cande is not a happy camper.

Humberto is in a special kind of hell, and by that I mean that he has the bad fortune of sharing the dinner table with his drunk wife and spoiled daughter who demands, demands to know everything about Cristobal and his treatment, she has a right to know! I want to smack her. I think watching novelas has turned me into a violent person.

Humberto tells them that Cris runs the risk of losing his leg, and Pru is horrified at the thought of him being "manco", which means missing an arm and Humberto corrects her and tells her he will be "cojo"=missing a leg, he finally gets tired of Prudencia and tells her her name is the biggest irony in the history of the world and leaves, did he even have dinner?

Prudencia then asks Honey Boo Boo, Val if she would still marry Cris if he were missing a limb, Val follows in her fathers footsteps and leaves the table, Prudencia is left alone and wondering what she did wrong.

Another bro that's a hot mess is Renato, Aldonza tells him that they can't be friends and then he does the math and figures something Silvia said led to Aldi not wanting to be BFF's, Aldi tells him it was not Silvia's fault but he's not buying it. We later see him at a restaurant with a bottle of tequila, and then some guy asks him if he wants to play dominoes, umm random much?

Renato eventually makes it home and confronts Silvia, he wants to know what she told Aldonza and blames her for everything that's wrong in his life, he tells her their friendship and professional partnership is over, Silvia is hurt and goes into her room, a few seconds later, Renato enters and apologizes for his bad behavior but Silvia tells him to leave her alone. Bro, you are a hot mess.

Another brother that is a hot mess is E-man who got the snot kicked out of him (this recapper screams in anger!) and can't even walk, he falls asleep on a bench and is found by a police officer who takes him home, but not before asking him if he had too much to drink. Ummm, maybe you need to lay off the sauce when the first thing someone asks you is if you're drunk. Just saying... E-man makes it home and showers and then asks don't Camilo is Lola has been acting strange. Don Camilo tells him Lola seemed upset and that he hopes they can sort out whatever issues they are having.

Sigh, saying that Lola was upset is an understatement, the girl cried herself to sleep but still managed to get up early enough to go visit her grandmother and tell her that she spoke with her mom, she also asks for an update on Cris and is told he is getting better.

Lola then goes to work and her day really goes south. Irma tells her that E-man took advantage of Mari, he slept with her and then dumped her and probably wants to do the same to Lola. Gah, Irma you idiot! She tells Lola that Mari spent the night in San Miguel with E-man and the way she tells the story it's hard not to believe her. Poor E-man is doomed and I hope Mari gets hit by a truck.

Padre J and Aldi talk about Cris, he tells her that he was not allowed in to see Cris because Sev can't stand him....

And I'm guessing Sev's dislike just increased a lot! You see, Candela finally made it home to shower and rest, while she is in the shower Sev comes into her room to let her know he is on his way to the hospital, he stumbles on her box of pictures and finds one that Jenaro gave her, the back of the picture said "to the most beautiful woman in Santa Lucia"- Sev asks Candela about the picture and says he finally understands why she's always so "nice" to Jeronimo.

Candela tells him they were kids when she got that picture and that if she has considerations towards Jeronimo it's because he's a man of God. Sev ain't buying it. Later, through a conversation between Candela and Dominga we learn that it was Candela who was into Jeronimo, not the other way around.

Back at the hospital poor Cris is stuck with both Pru and Val, Pru lets it slip that he might lose his leg and Cris freaks, he calls for Humberto who comes in and tells him everything will be fine, and promises to allow Cris to try and walk the next day.

Then, in the hallway Humberto lays into his wife and daughter for not knowing how to shut up. He tells them both to go home and Val wants to know why she's getting sent home, Humberto tells her that she has no place with Cris and Val's all like "yes I do!", Hum tells her it's sad to see how little dignity she has and then my DVR cut off! Grrrr!

Yay, Eli! I was staring to get worried about you. Thanks for this great recap. Loved your title. :)

In the last minutes, Sever confronts Padre J and Aldonza in front of the church. He basically tells Padre to stay the hell away from his woman, and makes it clear he means in the man-woman/sexual sense. He then knocks Padre to the ground with a right hook. Padre basically calls him nuts and tells him to chill, but keeps his cool. Aldonza is shocked that 1) there was ever anything between her uncle and that woman (Padre tells her Cande has changed); and 2) that Sever dared to assault a priest. She promises Padre J when he asks to not mention what she saw and heard to anyone. But Sever is lurking and waiting for her as she rounds the corner. He basically threatens to rape her again, if she doesn't stay away from Cris. She coughs up a loogie and spits in his face. The disgusting pig wipes some with his finger and puts in on his mouth, looking all turned on. Blech!

Eman was having the worst day ever! Poor baby. There were two scenes that weren't mentioned in the recap, so perhaps that were cut off on your dvr too.

Mari comes into the shop with the candy house. Lola sees it, and Mari "admits" that Eman did give it to her way back when, saying it was meant for someone special. She lays on some fake tears and generally plays the victim to Eman's treachery. Lola buys it. Mari swishes away with the candy house- mission accomplished. Later, Eman comes to the shop. Lola doesn't screech at him like I thought she would. Instead she shuts him down before he can even get started, turns cold, and goes to the back of the shop, leaving poor Eman standing there alone with the words still in his mouth.

Eli - Thank you for the recap! I've been out all day, just got in, heading back out, and won't have a chance to watch this episode.

Vivi - thanks for the "rest of the story".... I think. That Sev is just disgusting and i want to barf, just thinking of what he did with that spit. Eeew.

Thanks, Eli.

That last scene between Severed and AL made me want to hurl. Bllleeeccchhh I hate that guy...what a demon. Where is that enormous anvil ?

...and Pru the Shrew. What is wrong with this woman?

Thank you Eli, what a depressing episode!!

We all knew that Lola would pout and believe mean girl's lies. Emanuel just needs to run away from both of them.

So Cande was upset that Sev wasn't willing to wring his hands in worry and watch Cris sleep all day and night at the hospital. What a loon Cande is. Cris has zero breathing space with that mother. I can't believe he's as normal as he is.

I love that spanish has a single word for missing an arm and for missing a leg.

When Sev licked the spit off his finger had to be the most disgusting scene I've seen on a TN.

Yay Eli! Thanks for the recap! I especially commend your flow; it was a very smooth retelling of last night's sad tale of woe. This one made me laugh, morbid thought that laughter was: "she tells Cris that he's probably off with his whore-which is technically true"

I was surprised to see that interesting glimpse into Sev and Cande's relationship. Sev was misty eyed over Cande's crush on J and Cande was jumping all over her own words to reassure Sev that her feelings for J are/were no big thing. Part of it may have been for PJ's safety, but mostly she seemed upset about how Sev would feel about her feelings for another man. Then she burned J's picture. These two have an interesting mix of feelings for each other.

Mari did do a good job weaving her story and making a strong case, and has Uriel AND even Irma backing her up. But if Lola really loved Eman like she says, she would hear HIM out and give him the chance to clear his name.

Hellashelle- I couldn't believe it when she burned her beloved picture of young Padre J. Sever already saw it. What's the harm in having it now? Does she really think her marriage can get any worse? Does she really believe her unrequited feelings for Padre J are a worse betrayal of their marital vows than Sever's many lovers over the years?

Thanks Eli - love the recap and your Honey Boo Boo slip, priceless.

I have no words for some of the actions lately. We seem to be going in some vicious circles that I just want to stop.

Case in point, the endless dramedy on E-man/Lola/Mari. None of them should hook up with each other ( well maybe at this point Lola and Mari might work out for both being so clueless and such snits). I'll give Irma a pass as she only has one child now to defend and she's more emotional than usual. E-man needs to take his horse and ride off into the sunset. Be done with the whole of SL.

Thing One and Thing Two were just abhorrent last night. Seriously, Hum could make it visiting Cris for family only. They are neither. Drunk or not, Pru had no business spouting her stupidity and then not even seeming to get it she made, oh I don't, a bit of major faux pas. And why didn't Val take her mother right out the door instead of staring like the dumb cluck she is at her.

Boo hoo Cande. Nope, not a shred of sympathy there. And Sev looking all teary she may have betrayed him - someone slap this man silly. But again, brilliant play by Alexis. The maniac actually loved one woman, she turned him off as nothing but her adversarial roommate, and sure as shootin' as he thinks he has confirmation she really does love the padre, he has to go play hot stuff in town with the macho move and threaten another woman. Honestly, I don't think it even had to be Allie - she was just there. Cande does seem to be a trigger at times for his behavior.

So I wonder if Renato even sticks around at this point. He alienated Silvia, Allie wants nothing to do with him (stupid) and without the Mis Plans what else is he doing? Silvia seems to be doing most of the legal work...Not that I want him to go, I'll miss his hair..um eyes and smile and well, general person. Ok, I'm shallow.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay- Pato is also working. There was mention the other episode that he's in D.F. working on a case right now.

Yeah, Mari can go kick rocks. I'm so done with her.

Lola...sigh. Just a long, long sigh. I"m so tired of her not listening to ANYONE that's "done her wrong". Irma definitely drove it home and made E seem like a jerk, but good lord do these young people demonstrate not being ready for a relationship. I'm ready to drop them all for a spinoff about Pato and Silvia.

...except for the anvils. I want to see the anvils.

I was glad that Renato realized quickly what a jerk he was to Silvia, but I hope he doesn't expect to be forgiven as quickly. It's a really sh*tty thing he keeps doing-- threatening her job whenever he doesn't get his way or she goes against his orders.

Thanks, Eli! I didn't see the first half so the recap is a lifesaver.

They can stop all the licking and spitting now. Gross.

Thank you Eli loved the recap especially, "Poor E-man is doomed and I hope Mari gets hit by a truck." I also would never judge you as I've had a crush on PJ since his days of Hons & Cons in CME.

I missed the episode last night so I really needed this recap. I'm just sorry that I missed Hum going off on the crazy wife and daughter.

Renato is turning out to be a bit of a jerk, with the constant threatening Silvia with her job.

Ladies, shall we invite Renato to leave the Cougar Table on the Patio? We could set up a Time-Out table for him to sit at, until he gets his act together. Time-Out table would be just off the edge of the Patio so that he knows he is on our sh*t list, but we can still look at his nice face. Thoughts?

Great recap Eli!
Thanks Vivi for the last bits and pieces.
Since I have not seen Sev on his mobile phone lately...I am hoping it fell into the box with Sim / Viv. Last time he used it was when Cande was calling and then he placed it in his jacket pocket?

Thanks Vivi on the Pato info. Missed that. He's another one that I wonder if he'll really stick around. No friggin' way should Mari even get a date with Pato at this point. Her immaturity level is beyond measure and he deserves so much more. Would be criminal to ram her into some pretty package with him now after what she's pulled. I'd rather he was odd man out and just Renato's friend.

So in the continuing saga of the house...did I get it right, it's back with Mari still?

Daisynjay

Yes. Mari still has her grubby hands on the candy house. Let's hope s/he can escape Mari soon. Free the Candy House!

Doris, I love your idea of the Time Out Table. That should be a mainstay on the patio!!! And yes, then we can keep our Bod Squad men around to look at, but let them know we are none to pleased with their behavior.

Daisynjay

Hi, Eli. Thanks for this recap. I really enjoyed every word.

Just to make it a little less revolting, in the last scene where Aldonza spits on Sev and he wipes it off with his fingers, then put it in his mouth, he actually wiped it off with his index , middle and ring finger, but he put his little finger in his mouth.

I hurt my back on Friday, and was on the couch until today, so couldn't comment on Lila's excellent recap. Thanks!

There was also some discussion about whether if Lola's mom decomposed too much if they would be able to tell it was murder by strangulation. There is a small bone in the front of the throat that doesn't articulate with any other bone, but rather is held in place by ligaments and muscular attachments. It's called the hyoid, and being delicate, it is frequently fractured during a strangulation.

Thanks again, Eli!

David

I'm in for the Time Out Table

I do see the crack in the door for Lola to start to figure out that Mari is a liar, and the candy house will figure prominently in it. So I picture Joaquin or Adelina seeing it and telling Lola that it was in Rays possession up until a couple of days ago, or Irma mentioning the house and where she just found it, again, not that long ago.

Good work, Eli.

Sev licking Aldonza's spit was designed to gross her out just as much as it did us. It didn't surprise me one bit considering how he strips her with his eyes already. Has anyone ever noticed whether there ever were witnesses to any of that? I could swear that Renato was in a position to have noticed this during the Engagement Party From Hell but I don't recall him commenting on it.

Mari needs to be hit with a clue by four. What she has done to everyone around her deserves an anvil of some kind.

I see an emergency room for Emanuel within a handful of episodes.

Cristobal can't go home yet. If he can't walk he needs to stay in the hospital. Going home would be too dangerous medically, not to mention that he would become his mother's prisoner.

Eli thank you for a good recap. I think when sev's end comes it will be one befitting a creature such as himself. Anvils are to good for him. He needs to suffer, and I mean good long and hard with no releaf in site. And this is before he goes to hell.
Cande might of burnt that photo for effect, but if dominga weren't standing there she'd probably would have blown it out.
Lola is a very gullable "little"girl.
Mari is vile val's twin sister.
Hum is in a hell of his own making.
Eman should just leave lola and marri alone.they"'re both crazy ( lola, mari).

I stopped watching this a long time ago, when Sev and the villains started ganging up on poor Aldonza and her aunt, Adelina.

All this time we thought padre J and cande had a thing going on back in the day. I know he's glad he married the lord instead of that heffa.

"MEAN HEFFA"→→→→→↑

I hope the writers didn't make a mistake there about the inscription on the back of the photo. Padre J previously seemed oblivious to her youthful obsession with him, so I would be inclined to think she wrote that comment on the back of the photo.

Considering how removed from reality she is about other stuff doesn't that make sense?

UA: LOL "Clue by four" - Love it!

Cathyx - I like it, I like it. I imagine she's the in middle of crying and whining and playing the victim and adorable little Ray comes running up like "you found it!" That would be so perfect! Not only is Ray the cutest heartbreaker on this show, but what's she going to do, call him a liar?

Thank you for the medical notes David (I knew you'd know!)

Doris - I vote yes on the Time Out Table as well. Please put Ren, Lola, and Aldie there. Mari's beyond it for me.

And kudos to Adelina! She's never been in a relationship, but at least she knows that puppies and "love you"s are great, but asking about Cris's FRICKIN' LEG is also, oh idk, kind of IMPORTANT?

When PJ and Aldonza were talking about what was up with Cande back in the day, he said it was very innocent and didn't go anywhere. So I don't think they ever did much past smiling at each other. I'll see if I can rewatch that part and let everyone know what exactly PJ said.

But I had to laugh at Aldonza's expression when that came out, she had the most horrified look on her face when PJ admitted to it.

Hellashelle - it's time to vote Mari off the island. I want her to break off a piece of that Candy House and get a deathly Cade of food poisoning from it because it is, like, veinte años old!

Here is what PJ said in that scene:

Before I entered the seminary, there was a true attraction between Cande and me. Al says, you had a relationship? and he says, don't make it out to be anything, it wasn't anything serious. Neither she nor I were the same people as we are now. She was completely different then, and then he tells Aldonza to not speak about this again.

...break off and eat a piece of that Candy House....
Stupid iPad won't let me change anything after previewing. Stupid Edit feature is worthless..stupid iPad. I will send IT to the Time Out table, too.

Thank you Eli---I'm soooooo glad that you were able to get this up with the dvd problems and all.

I can't wait for Sev's demise but Lola run over by a truck??? PLEAASSEE!!! Give her a break!! She's young and hasn't had a lot of BIG life experience. Furthermore she was abandoned as a baby or child and has had to grow up with the feeling that her own parents/parent didn't love her. Yes, she had Dom and Mel but it just isn't the same. Now she's of age and finds Mr. Right whom she is led to believe has run out on her. Dumped and abandoned again. How would you guys feel if you were her? Yes---I
know she should listen more and think/reason things out more than she does but she has had a chip on her shoulder her entire life and I understand. She needs love, kindness, patience and reasoning. Everyone is, has been saying that Aldonza needs counseling. Ok then lets get counseling for Lola also and not throw her under the bus. The gringo will have a cup of coffee at the Lola table. I'm not going to abandon her.
the gringo

....case of food poisoning.

Okay, that's it. I think my iPad hates me.

Thank you, Eli! Muchisimas Gracias! I'll go back and hit comments. Oh, I did read the first one which described that last scene which is, hands down, the most disgusting scene I have witnessed in a telenovela or any other type of tv show! Good lord, I feel like losing my cookies even now and I ain't even ate none! That HAD to be an ad lib that AA added to ramp up the creep factor (for Aldonza AND the audience) and to totally and literally say "EF YOU" to her attempt to dismiss him with disdain and humiliation as well as intimidate her. Jeezo pete! I will definitely tune in late to miss THAT little gem! AA is killin' it EVERY night portraying Sev as a low-life feral PIG!!!

Yes. Let Mari get hit by a truck. And, gosh, I can't even think of the word for how I feel about Lola. She's probably bearing the brunt of many another novela lover who is foolish enough to believe her rival. She might as well park a stool at the feet of Vile and become one of her pupils cause she's frickin' believing second hand bullshit; she might as well get it right from the source. IDIOTA!!!

Thanks, Vivi, for the scene with the pig and the bitch Mari/stupid Lola scene I reference above!

Aaawwwww gringo, you are so nice and so right. I'll have some coffee at the Lola Table with you, but then it's back to the Cougar Table for me. :-)

How long are the producers of this TN going to torture us with Severiano's REIGN OF TERROR ?

I'm worried he's going to kill Lola next!

gringo-

I don't think we're ready to run Lola over (that was Mari), just give her a time out. She's had a rough couple of weeks thinking that her mom abandoned her, but she grew up with loving adoptive grand/parents, thinking her parents were great, but had died. I don't want to banish her by any stretch, but I want her to act like a 25 year old instead of a 5 year old and listen to "the love of her life" rather than constantly hanging up on, interrupting, and ignoring him, demonstrating no faith in the man she's known since childhood and supposedly loves. I give her a semi-break because Irma generally gives good advice and is mostly objective. She's someone who has not turned her back on Lola just because Mari's her daughter and advised her to talk to her parents and her mom before it was too late. It makes sense that she would listen to her about E. But she has NEVER given E a chance to explain his side of things when she's mad at him. Did she learn nothing from her brief time with Pato?

There are 52 more capitulos left to this series and lots more evil to come, I'm certain. As I've pointed out earlier Confessional Abuse is a serial crime so we can expect Sev to do it a few more times and with more crimes to confess to.

Humberto might unravel before too much more happens.

There is also the fact that Valeria is pregnant and there's at least 7 months more of the characters' lives to deal with until that's over, although we don't know when the paternity issue will come up.

Doris--time out table sounds like a good idea! He definitely needs to think about what he's done but I don't know if he gets another chance after this! That cute square jaw and darlin' eyes of his may not be able to save his tusch if he keeps raking poor Silvia over the coals!

David! Awww, feel better, hon! Healing vibes!))))))))))))))))))))

Thank you Eli and for the fills Vivi.

I loved last night and Aldonza did what I've wanted to all along. Better than 1000 slaps.

I give it to Mari, girl can cook up and execute her some mis planes.

Emanuel is pitiful, if he was a horse they'd just shoot em.

I think there is still more to the PJ/Cande story. Cande alluded to something that happened right before PJ became a priest. Haha, poor Severiano had convinced himself he owned Cande.

Pru is just revolting at this point.

PBS--Great idea about Sev's phone!

PBN not PBS -- doh!

Tofie, you wrote, "Cande alluded to something that happened right before PJ became a priest." I still think Cris could be PJ's son and when the tampered-with DNA comes back, from Sev & Cris, it will show that Cris & Aldi are NOT related because Sev is NOT Cris's father. And won't Cande & Sev be shocked!! Almost an anvil!!

LoirLoo - If Cris is PJ's son, then he's Aldie's cousin. Unless Aldie is Sev's daughter, in which case she was raped by her father.

David - sorry, i didn't even send out my good vibes for your back injury. I apologize. Hope you're feeling better.

PBN - I second Lila's seond of your great idea. Someone mentioned that as a possibility for his wallet as well.

I was curious sbout sev's sick, twisted behavior.
So I guestioned Google. Here's what goo said: a psychopath is an anti social aggressive perverted criminal minded a moral person that behaves without empathy or remorse when he commits a violent act and he fails to feel any guilt whatsoever.

If there was a picture next to this definition it would be sev's, and some other peoples to, but we talking about sev so let's just do one psycho at a time.
Hellashell- ITA agree about lola, but the girl is so frustrating I want to shake her. But I wont. I'll just she starts think "why am I believeing what this skank is telling me about the man I love?" I guess its hard for her to trust, with her back ground and all. Iet's see what the mext 52? Episodes bring us. I think thats what someone said farther up about how many episodes were left.

Fact is this TN has jumped the shark on the edge like ABC's Scandal.

First, Mari needs an ANVIL fast!

Second, Emmanuel needs an anvil too for his stupidity & constantly letting down Lola every single time!

Third, Vale spewing her poison across the entire town!

Fourth, whatever happened to Candela's parents ? Because I'm intrigued to know why they raised such a spoiled brat ?

Thank you for the recap, Eli! Alas I did not have time to read it until just now, right before the start of tonight's show. I'm already giggling about your crush on Padre J. I can't judge you for that.

Padre J does seem to be gettin attractive. I've seen this man before, he didn't look this gorgous. To good for bitchy cande. Eman needs an anvil for lettin these women drive him to drink. They ain't worth that trouble. The horse treats him better.

good morning people time to get up rise and shine. I guess yall thinkin she need to stop that, it is summer time and I don't have to get up early to get the kids up for school and hobbies already gone so I'm going to lay here and rest for a while. Well at least on this coast some of us don't have to get up early anyway y'all have a good blessed day.

I think that candy house has secrets inside. secrets of the past.

Nina, you & I both know full well that Candela will do almost anything to keep her dirty little secrets SECRET!
