Lo Imperdonable #27 Tue 6/23/15 Manuel needs an anvil

Telenovela Death Watch 2015:

Cresencio is still alive (boo, hiss)
Manuel, also still alive- what does a recapper have to sacrifice to the gods to get them to kill these two off? Goats, cats, virgins? Where am I going to find one of those in Los Angeles? Sorry, I got distracted, and now your recap!

Veronica wakes up to find Claudia sitting in her bedroom like a creeper, she's rubbing Martins feet and this dos not sit well with Veronica, and can anyone blame her? Claudia explains that she found out about Martin being injured and that she came to help (oh do you have a medical degree missy?). Veronica tells her there's nothing Claudia can do there and if she really wants to help she should go to the church to look after the injured men, they need all the help they can get.

Vero gets out of bed and Nanci makes her a juice to help her get her strength back, Vero wants to know where the doctor is and is told that he went to get something to drink to freshen up, it turns out he also took the time to take a shower because he is headed to the church to help. Veronica looks at Claudia and says "I guess you're going with them to help, right?"- ah what a nice way to say "get the hell out of my house you skank". Claudia reluctantly says that yes, she will be going to help at the church, once she leaves Nanci tells Veronica that the perfumed lady (Claudia) holds things in her heart. Then she says she's going to make Vero and Martin a soup so that they can get better.

Speaking of crazy Martin, he is sleeping and having a dream about Veronica, in the dream she tells him she's innocent and as they kiss Pablo Montero Demetrio shows up and whispers to Martin that he has to get revenge on the woman that ruined him, Martin becomes distressed and starts to scream in his sleep which brings veronica running, making her drop a book that she was looking at.

She runs in to the room and calms him down, and then tells him she will go get him some water and his medication, then she will explain what happened.

Malena gets some therapy:

In Mexico City Malena continues with her therapy, the doctor gets her to think about the good things she lived with her daughter and Malena flashes back to Veronicas 4th birthday when she the little girl a doll and was declared the best mother on earth.

Malena's story is heartbreaking, her husband had always had a strong character, but as he began drinking more and more he started to become violent, to the point where he almost killed her and if not for Botel she would have died. Malena is consumed with guilt because she was forced to leave her daughter behind, but the doctor point out there was nothing she could have done, she was near death herself and in no condition to help anyone- even her daughter.

Malena carries with her the fear that her husband could have spent years abusing their daughter. The therapy  ends for the day and she goes to shower and cry -anyone remember Vero telling Martin that in boarding school she would go into the showers to cry? Botel comes into the bathroom and gives her some tea to help calm her nerves, Malena tells him that her daughter and Botel are the things she most loves in life.

Virgina continues to fake being ill- she's on her laptop reading up on poisoning when Matilde walks in and makes the mistake of asking her how she feels and not addressing her as "senorita", Virgina reprimands her for being overly familiar with her and just then Jorge and Selma walk in to check up on her. She tells them that she's feeling better and Matilde asks Jorge if there are any news on Vero, he says no and that's a good thing because if something bad had happened they would have heard by now. Selma and Virginia are not happy about Matilde asking after Vero but Jorge tells them that everyone is worried and asks them not to be angry at Matilde.

Manuel the rabid dog:

Manuel has caused another leak to spring because he's a big...ummm jerk, I'm gonna keep it classy patio peeps. Joaquin drags him out of the mine (you should have left him there!) and straight to gramps, he reports about the new leak  but he protects Manuel and fails to disclose that he was responsible for creating it. Ugh, why do people continue to protect this jerk, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?! Joaquin tells Manuel that he did not say anything to gramps because he did not want to upset the old man and tells Manuel to pay him back by behaving, ha, good luck with that homie.

Manuel is a big whiny baby and goes to his aunt to tattle. He whines that he does everything he can to garner his grandfathers respect but nothing he does makes the old man happy. Everyone is on his case, even her husband had a go at him and he did nothing wrong-what a liar! Tho maybe in his little brain he really feels that he's done nothing wrong? I don't really care tho, I want him to die. Die, die, die.

His aunt tells him that he is like a son to her, she took care of him as a baby and she loves him. Umm why, what lovable qualities does he have? Anyhoo, she sends him home to sleep but he can't sleep because grams demoted him and gave his position to Joaquin, he embarrassed him in from of all the workers!

Manuel starts to scream in the church, he yells that he is the one that should be in charge, the mine belongs to him, everything that comes out of it belongs to him! Dude, he is super scary! He continues to rant saying that everything that's going wrong is because of the outsiders and then he tells the workers that Pablo and Doctor F are going to end up killing them. Padre Juan walks out and wants to know what's going on, Manuel says nothing  is going on and Raymunda tells Padre J that Manuel is just upset about everything that's going on with the miners and was just there to check on the workers. OMG, what planet is this woman on? Padre J is not buying it

Ana Perla and Pablo have a scene together, and I can't be bothered to pay much attention because they bore me to death. Team Julio all the way! Anyhoo, they go off to look for candles and smooch. In Mexico, Mariana and Virginia are having a sleep over, they talk about Pablo and how upset Mariana is that he has not gotten in touch with her. Virginia tells her not to worry, it's probably because there's only one phone and a fax machine in that town, and she asks if Mariana is worried that he met someone new? Nope, nothing to worry about there because there's no one there that's on their "level"- meanwhile Pablo continues to smooch Ana Perla.

Claudia is a total fish out of the water, she's at the church, she does not think there's anything she can do to help but Polo tells her she can help change the dressings for the miners, she does not look like she likes the idea, so what does she do? she starts to sing and dance, in a church, full of sick men. I've never been happy to see Cresencio but I am now because he makes  her stop, not so happy that he assumes she's a slut but at least he got her to stop. I hope that we don't have to see more of Machado singing and dancing. I'm still pissed that Cres says the world is ending because a woman is *gasp* working. Die you old goat, die! Sadly for Veronica Claudia missed the last boat and can't go to the hotel, so she has to stay the night with them.

Martin and Veronica's hovel:

Veronica gives Martin his pill, and then confronts him about the fax he got from Claudia announcing her arrival, she wants to know why he hid that information from her? He says he just wanted to avoid an argument and she's not having it. Their marriage is falling apart because of his actions and she asks if he has anything going on with Claudia, he says they are just friends.

Nanci walks in with food and they tell Martin that he lost a lot of blood and that a transfusion had to be preformed, he now has Veronica's blood in his body and that will bind them together forever. Vero tells him she would have given him all her blood to make him better and then leaves, Martin looks like he's going to cry.

In Mexico City Salma is sad because Emiliano is out of town. Jorge is glad that she accepted the boy as her own and gave him all the love she did.

Emiliano is overseas and still obsessing over Veronica #shesnotthatintoyoubro

Update on the mine:things are getting better and while everyone works Manuel sleeps on a church bench.

Background info: An American came to town and took advantage of Cresencio's sister, he stole the first gold they got from the mine and she died (Joaquin wont say how she died tho)

Claudia makes it back to Veronica's and Martins house and cries to him about how Cres treated her, then she confesses her feelings for Martin which Veronica over hears and it sends her up the wall, she tells Claudia that she might as well give her a spot in Martins bed and she storms off!

Come back tomorrow to witness more of the insanity!

Thanks Eli for the recap. Loved the opening paragraph and I am so on board for a little sacrifice to the TN gods. I think Claudia needs some professional help with her leg fetish since it seems to be going WAY over board. Also hate that Vero is being all classy and polite with Claudia when she should be going all ham. One more thing and then I am done... Now that Marty is aware of the transfusion does this mean that he will HAVE to listen to his corazon and "forgive" Vero (for something she didn't do) because her blood is now inside him?

Oh and confused about Emi not being Salma's son. Is he only Jorge's or is he adopted?

Thank you Eli for the recap. I'm with you on Team Julio. Nothing against the actor playing Pablo, but the character Pablo is not that interesting.

Also with you on the why, why, why, does everyone stick up for Maniac Manuel?? I'm especially disappointed in Raymunda, sticking up for that creep. She should be happy that her hunky husband has been promoted, and that Claudia isn't crawling all over him.

I don't really like this TN but since the story is similar to CME, I want to see how they handle it. For me the saving grace is the actors. And Nanciyaga. Love her! In fact, I want Vero to be nicer to her!

Eli -this was Ok, not because of your recapping, you didn't have much to work with. You did what you could, thank you. This episode was Eh!!!
There was a lot of craziness in it.
Crazy people singing in church.
Crazy people releasing more poison.
Crazy people sneaking into houses rubbing peoples legs while they're unconscious.
Crazy people covering up for other crazy people (manuel&creepy gramps).
Crazy!!!!!!!
I'll keep watching maybe some sanity will creep in.
Thank You Eli you did a lot with out much to work with.
These people are crazy. That dream martin had, his bro told him to get revenge on the woman that killed him, he didn't mention the woman by name. I wonder if that went over his head and he stiil thinks its ronny? He probably does, this Is crazy marty.
I hope this did not sound harsh Eli you are a good recapper. It's just that the writers didn't do very good with this episode, that's what I'm thinking anyway.but its a good show like I said I'm going to keep watching.

Yeah about Emi, I thought Selma gave birth to him or was he adopted too? Was jorge married to someone else first?

if y'all already went over this would you go over it again cuz I may have missed it. I know veronica and Virginia was adopted but I thought Emiliano is blood.

Veronica will probably be nicer to Nancy but right now she's slowly being driven crazy by her loopy husband Marty. poor girls don't know whether she's coming or going.

Eli- I have to run off to a meeting, but wanted to say thank you before I do.

Emi is Jorge's but not Salma's bio child. Got to give her props for treating him as if he came from her own loins. Makes it harder to understand why she has always been such a witch to Vero.

Sick of everyone coddling Manuel!

Thank Eli, always love your recaps.

"Ugh, why do people continue to protect this jerk, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?"

When Martin was cupping Claudia's chin, they looked more like lovers than his own wife (oh, forgot Veronica and Martin aren't lovers). She shouldn't be jealous but should leave and divorce that sorry excuse for a man and don't care how good he looks, he is scum. I'm loving every minute of Claudia being right up in it and gave her a big hell yea when she told Claudia to sleep in Martin's bed with him.

Hehe, now we get a little explanation why Emiliano looks way to old to be Salma's son.

Eli you should be doing this for a living. Thanks much.
RE: Goats Cats Virgins. Well I tell ya tha virgins're out of tha questin, but I was in a goat rodeo the other day.

Vero told Claw-dia to sleep with CrazyMarty (Mexican Hairless) as maybe he could finally get his marriage consummated with her or something to that effect.

BTW does sexless CM shave his chest or something? I know, I know, "any man can grow hair on his chest but a real man keeps it all rubbed off". Aint exactly explaining shiny boy.

Oh shoot I just figured it out. You know how those little backwoods towns are. The family tree sometimes has no branches? OK. Grampa Pervert is Ana Perla's Father AND Grandfather. ManuaLabor must know and is blackmailing GP.
:-)

Eli, this was a wonderful recap of a nutty episode. Yes, to any sacrifice to get crazy evil Manuel outta here. If he gets his way, he'll kill off the entire town. Umm, not so much of a loss, but still... He's a real threat to everyone's well-being.

Claudia's singing was odd, yet it (or her curvy body) seemed to cheer up the miners. Maybe she could go around stroking their arms and legs to promote better blood circulation and healing? Doubt that gramps would approve, but it would keep her away from Crazy Marty.

Good that Nanci is willing to help Vero regain her strength. Vero needs strong arms to slap Claudia into the next village.

Thanks Eli, This is excellent. Your peevishness with some of this nonsense serves to focus and sharpen, giving a fine edge your lacerating wit.

I thought that your impatience with Claudia's sing was a bit harsh. All the folks in the Church seemed to enjoy it and I admit that I was impressed (Manuel also seemed impressed though possibly not so much by her singing) and thought that it lightened their suffering a bit, though perhaps it might have been better had she left her top on... poor Grampa was almost apoplectic.

LoriLoo,

I'm glad that you seem to be enjoying and appreciating Nanciyaga as much as I am. I think that she brings a welcome freshness as well as a bit of mysteriousness to these proceedings. I'm happy that we have the snails joining us, they have served us well in the past (AV). Maybe Magdalena would benefit by consulting with Nanciyaga and the wise snails.

I'm encouraged that Ginny is introspective enough to question the wisdom of poisoning herself with the belladonna. We really need her back in the game.

Carlos

I forgot to mention earlier how Gramps annoys me. The best scene was when he fired Manny. I thought I could like him. But he then turned back into that hateful old geezer.

Carlos - I don't remember snails in AV. And I am continually amused at your fascination with Gretal Valdez in any of her roles. With or without a headband...

So that's what that was that nancy threw down on the ground. I didn't know what in the world that was it didn't look like snails. I thought it was some kind of smooth rock or something. What did she saw in those snails? it's probably nothing good or so we'll see.

Please forgive me for speaking out of turn, but I'm sure Carlos' interest in headband girl is purely clinical, given her 'atypical' heart condition and his medical background.

I mistook them for small shells. I thought she said the shells could not answer in current situation or something to the effect in Nanciese.

I'm sure that Carlos meant shells, rather than snails. Perhaps they are snail shells and he was being extra thorough.

Yes I agree Kirby, that Dr. Carlos' interest in Ginny is purely clinical .

Thanks for another great recap, Eli.

I believe that Dr. Carlos did indeed mean snails, rather than shells. The Spanish word is caracoles. This can be translated as 'snails' or 'shells.' While 'shells' may be more accurate in this case, SNAILS is a lot more fun and we'll all get a lot more comic mileage out of it. (If you doubt that, have a look back at some of our old AV recaps.)

Thanks so much Eli for such a wonderful recap.

This was a good episode I thought. My favorite part was Claudia's singing at church - I found it to be comical and random. Crescencio did have a point (sort of) that it was disrespectful for Claudia to be undressing like that in church.

My dislike for Raymunda grows. She's a blind fool defending Manuel. Between her and Crescencio spoiling him it's no wonder Manuel turned out the way he did. I agree that he needs an anvil and he needs one fast.

I was surprised to find out Emiliano wasn't Salma's son. This was so unexpected and it's the first time there was ever any mention of it. Interesting how this reveal happened on the same episode where we find out that Crescencio's sister got knocked up by an outsider and then was abandoned by the outsider when he left stealing the first gold that appeared at the mine. Could these two things be related?

I also loved it when Vero gave her place in the marital bed to Claudia and said that "maybe now Martin could have his wedding night". Touche!

Thank you everyone!

Mauricio, I don't think the two things are related, as they said that the man was a "gringo"- i'm so confused, who was Manuel's mother? And Ana Perla? They do share the same parents don't they?

NovelaMaven,

My heart soared when Nanciaga pitched those snails out onto the ground that first time. Welcome back old friends. What a fortunate turn of luck and what a gift for you recappers.

LoriLoo,

"Yes I agree Kirby, that Dr. Carlos' interest in Ginny is purely clinical."

Yeah... clinical... that's the ticket.

Carlos

Eli, thank you so much for all of the clarifications. Muchas Gracias!

Mauricio, Wow! So that is what Vero said to Martin before storming out! Good for her!
No wonder he gave her such a long pensive look. Ha! Veronica should be on the next boat out of town, I sure would be. That would sure put the wrench in Martin's plan for revenge. He might break out in hives and be yelling unmentionable things!

Claudia seemed to be wanting to do something to help and not get her hands dirty, so why not jolly everyone up with song and dance. It was entirely in Crescencio's philistine style to make her stop. Nothing wrong with singing in church, or dancing either for that matter if it's for a good cause. A little endomorphin-building would do all those miners lots of good, beef up their immune systems and get them rolling again. I am surprised, however, that she didn't break out the cream and go for their legs.

Gale

Manny and Ana Perla are hermanos. I presume their deceased mother was Raymunda's sister? I also presume that Manny is older than Ana Perla, and at some point after Ana was born, she must have gotten involved with the Gringo (not our "the gringo"). But this part of the old geezer's family is still murky to me.

After tonight Vero should eat some butterflies and shit herself some wings and fly home. Martin can pound sand. What a jerk.

Kirby: Let's hope Martin's ex takes him back!

Thank you Eli.
Martin is completely crazy, i just don't understand how Vero puts up with him, it baffles me that she even married him in the first place.
