TELEMUNDO Y MÁS: EL SEÑOR DE LOS CIELOS 3, TIERRA DE REYES, AVENIDA BRASIL, etc – week of July 13, 2015
"Tierra de reyes", gran final, Monday, 27 July.
"Bajo el mismo cielo" begins Tuesday, the 28th
(there are promos out for each, I'm guessing the time slots are the same).
"El Señor de los Cielos 3" is in etapa culminante, so it has some more to go, to be ?? followed by "Señora Acero 2", which I believe is in production in Mexico, to be later followed by "La querida del Centauro".
of course real life Sinaloa cartel chief Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman escaping through a mile long tunnel from his shower in a maximun security prison in Mexico, is better than the novelas.
that Alma and Veronica were twins who were separated at birth. Also, It seemed to me that
Jose Antonio really loved his wife. How did the affair with Sole come about? An answer
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I'm still loving this novela and enjoying the recaps and comments.
Something more has to happen to Leo. Falling down the stairs and maybe breaking his
neck wasn't nearly enough to quench my thirst for revenge. AnonGringa

wow, deb, thanks so much!
CELIA sounds like something I'd love to see. I hope it becomes reality.
A remake of Doña Barbara? Well we know Aracely is a power to be reckoned with, but Edith González was SO good and that version was such a knock-out, so...
Anyhow, lots of interesting stuff in the pipeline!
Thank you SO much. Now everything's a lot clearer.
Matilde is one of the most offensive characters that I've seen in a novela yet. It makes me nuts to see
the servants abusing the family members.
I'll really miss these people when the show's over. After not being particularly impressed with Aaron
Diaz in the first novelas that I saw him in, he's really grown on me. I'd like to see my other favorite,
Don Felipe, get up and walk again to save someone. As has been said, " Anything is possible in a
novela." AnonGringa
SpanProf. I thought about it the other day when Ulisses brought in that girl for Leo to take to the V.I.P. room. Wait, that makes the booty count eight then. I forgot about her. :)
Also, glad to see Arturo doing more smiling than scowling. He has a gorgeous smile and should definitely do it more often.
Oh, and I agree that Matilde is waaaay overstepping her bounds. She won't listen to the girls or grandpa about anything. I wondered if she was doing that to Don Felipe to force him to leave the house?
SpanProf thanks for summing up the plot so far this week - seriously your comments are as good as recaps - I've had work stuff and been missing a bunch this week and you caught me right up
deb thanks for the upcoming tn news
I too am hoping Irina doesn't drink the tea - or if she does she'll get sick and throw it up right away
Also for those keeping track of the notches on Leo's bedposts, when he was still married to Sophia he was sleeping with a stripper who looked like her and I don't think it was Cande
this is being produced by Fox Telecolombia, scheduled to premiere this fall.
starring Jeimy Osorio (with an afro hairdo in "Santa Diabla") and Modesto Lacén, and a full cast already named.

the story begins in Cuba before Castro.

Thanks again, deb! That video has me sold. I can't wait for it to air. (I wonder how they will handle the music – will they have the rights to Celia's own voice? I was skeptical about dubbing in singing until I saw how superbly it was done in La Hija del Mariachi. I mean, I assume the actress won't be singing, but I suppose she could be...)
So what are Edward's business plans in TX? I'm not sure I understood what he is up to.
I can't believe Art went to ask Leo what really happened - trying to get the truth from Leo is like trying to squeeze blood from a turnip - there's just none in there to get out. No wonder things degenerated so quickly to Art manhandling an injured man, Art just isn't thinking clearly.
re Isadoras continuing escapes - getting away is her superpower - no other explanation I can think of 'cause yeah Nestor could totally have taken her out
Ok, I realize that trying to poison Irina so she'll lose the baby is a way worse crime than throwing away books but I hate the hk so much more for throwing out DF's book collection than I did after any of her other crimes. Now I want her to seriously suffer - guess we know where my priorities are.
Actually though I think its because she had a motive and a reason for all the other things but throwing away DF's books brought her no benefit - she just did it because she's a B!&*^h and she thinks DF is helpless and she can bully him.
On a happier note - I'm so glad JA was able to convince Sole to resume their thing, she looks so much happier now and they are sweet together.
Sole's reasons for not wanting to restart their relationship were dumb and I'm glad JA didn't listen. And the kids were so happy about it she had no reason to worry
I liked Sole joking that she'd send JA far far away the night before their wedding
Am I the only one who found it pretty cold that everyone happily went on with the wedding plans after the couple
got shot by mistake? Maybe with my Spanish lacking I missed something, or maybe they just didn' have time to get
into that.
SpanProf, thank you for the informative comments.
AnonGringa
Thank you for responding. You've helped me to understand a lot that I would have missed otherwise.

I don't comment more often due to thoselittle picturea.
This novela is schizophrenic. It goes off on it's own plotline for a while and then goes back to almost scene for scene from Pasión de Gavilanes and sometimes the two don't mesh very well. Sofía and Arturo's wedding, Matilde ruining the General's uniform and Isadora's unfatal shooting of another wedding party is right out of PdG. Leo also was shopping the ranch to someone but it was another rancher and old friend of the family, not Verónica's ex. In PdG, the Darío character was a clothing designer and he made another uniform for the General who never knew what happened to the original.
With Sneaky's contribution, Leo's booty count (or bedpost notch) is up to nine. I don't even remember the stripper who looked like Sophia.
I'll be so glad when Matilde ends up in prison again. I can't wait to see how her snooty attitude and sticking her nose up in the air will go over with the other inmates. I'm guessing her nose will get slapped out of the air in no time.
I agree that it was pretty cold of them to not concern themselves with the injuries of the people who got shot instead of Arturo and Sofia.
And I'm surprised that Leo didn't slap Cayetana for defying him and going to the wedding anyway, since he seems to use violence to deal with everything else. Starting with the way he used to manhandle Sofia when they were married, the two beatings he gave Pablo for defying an order from him and putting him in the hospital after the second beating, head-butting the ranch hand who wouldn't do what he said about the fence and sinking to an all time low and ordering the beating of an unruly horse who didn't want to be shaved and then slapping Andrea when she protested. I'm guessing Leo probably had a violent upbringing while growing up in some cockroach infested ghetto in Mexico.
Jean your totally right this tn seems like its written by two very different people
One wants to just use the PdG plotline verbatim so they don't have to do any work and the other likes intrigue, and believable supporting characters, and gun trafficking storylines, and what we're getting is the product of an uneasy truce between the two
SpanProf - I agree with you about why Leo hasn't hit Caye yet - though I don't think he's as afraid of dF as he should be
britcomfan - we all want Matilde to get her comeuppance, and the sooner the better - I know I will be partying

Ha ha, sneaky -- I guess that makes two of us! Matilde's tossing the book collection was the last straw for me with her as well.

It was pretty selfish and self-centered of everyone, and I don't know why this apparently didn't occur to the writers. If they couldn't think of another reason, they could easily have used the same reason for the change in locales as was used in PDG, even if it is a little "woo-woo" -- I mean, that should not bother them because earlier in the story they had Alma visiting Veronica in her dreams so it's not like there is no precedent. In PDG, a couple nights before the wedding, the Veronica character got a dream "warning" from the Irina character about something bad happening to the wedding at the large church they'd booked. That spooked the Sofia character enough that at the last minute they moved the wedding to a different, smaller, church, but still at the same time. They spent the night before calling all the guests to let them know about the new location, and the larger church where they were originally going to have the wedding put another wedding into the now-vacant spot (One of the Reyes brothers joked that if any of their guests didn't hear about the change in location, at least they would get to see A wedding). Because all they did was move to a different church, no-one found out about the attack at the original church until a character who had not heard about the last-minute venue change and so had gone to the original church, showed up at the reception.

True, but it is sort of the same character, just younger and an ex- of Veronica's. But this character in PDG was someone known to the girls' family and he was sort of a foreigner (in PDG he had a German name and was played by a character actor whose family was originally English so he plays "gringos" a lot). Eduardo is sort of from London; he is known to the del Juncos via his connection with Veronica and her mother. And he's interested in Candelaria, who is the Pepita character in this novela. I don't know if Pepita was originally meant to have a love interest in PDG, but once the actress got pregnant and they decided to write that into the story, they made the wealthy rancher to whom the Leonardo character was trying to sell the farm into Pepita's secret sugar daddy.
In the post above, I said: In PDG, a couple nights before the wedding, the Veronica character got a dream "warning" from the Irina character about something bad happening to the wedding at the large church they'd booked.
GRRRR. I meant, In PDG, a couple nights before the wedding, the Veronica character got a dream "warning" from the ALMA character about something bad happening to the wedding at the large church they'd booked.
