Amores con trampa #76 and #77 7/13/15 and 7/14/15

Hilda
While Rocio wasn’t looking, she swiped her phone.

She also delivered a letter from Florencio to Maria. Can Hilda just go away? Please?

Maria and Facundo Take One
Facundo literally stumbles onto the letter from Florencio. He confronts Maria and doesn’t let her explain a thing. Fac reads the letter. Florencio is still madly in love with Maria. In the letter he asks Maria to forgive him for showing up at her house. It’s just that without her he’s nothing. He misses her and wants a second chance.

Well, Fac is not cool with that. He wants to kill Florencio. And worse...he actually accuses Maria of thinking of cheating. Oh, worse! He actually wonders if Maria was starting something with Florencio before the Carmonas left SBeC.

This earns him a well deserved slap from Maria.

Maria stands her ground. She is not a cheater. Fac finally gets it together and begs Maria to forgive him. He was talking stupid. He wants to bust his own nose for saying it.

Diego and Francis
Oh Francis is starting to get it bad for Diego. She thinks they would be the pareja más “top” of the university. Diego is not interested.

Santiago and Isabel
During a delightful meal which includes flavorless carrots (just like Isa likes), Isa tells the kids that she and Santi went to couples therapy together. And it was Isa’s idea! There will be no more chaos in the house! Alejandra is pleased. The happiness is interrupted by Santi’s vibrating phone. It’s a text message from Mireya. She needs to see him. It’s urgent. Santi makes excuses and skedaddles. Then Isa makes excuses and skedaddles. The children find it all odd.

Isa calls Esteban. He is right outside the house watching Santi leave. He will follow Santi and let Isa know as soon as he finds anything out.

What he finds out is Mireya and Santi at an outdoor cafe. Esteban alerts Isa.

Mireya and Santi discuss Puchis. Santi is afraid of her and he’s stressing out. He’s becoming diabetic!

Isa comes to the cafe and sees Santi and Mireya kissing. Her stunt double runs about at FF speed and does some tumbling moves. She ends in a Warrior II ( Virabhadrasana II) pose. Isa goes on and on about them cheating.

Isa accuses Mireya and Santi of giving her pills and trying to make her crazy. Mireya thought bubbles that that was Esteban’s plan, not Santiago’s.

Isa swears she is not going to forgive Santi and she leaves.

Unfortunately, Isa has had enough. She later throws Santi out of the house. Santi and Ale have a tender goodbye. Santi will always love Ale, even if they aren’t in the same house.

Then Santi has a run in with Conchita. She assumes Isa found out about Lic Godinez. There’s a lot of bleeping in the conversation. I thought Santi was kind of mean to Conchita and her socks and I didn’t think she deserved it.

Isa tells the kids she will quit drinking and asks them to forgive her. She will be in charge of the family now. She will be strong and she will change.

Felipe and Beto
Continuing the tradition of the kids being more mature than the adults, Feli goes to see Beto. Feli wishes he could quit, but he needs the money. Feli is mortified at what Fac has done. He wants to work with Beto and not fight. Feli wants Grupo Carmona to be successful. Beto is on board.

Beto and Rocio
Beto goes to Rocio just to unload about his dad. In SBeC he and his dad were so close! Thank goodness Feli is good people. Beto can work with him and not let Fac torment him. Beto mentions that as soon as they marry, he wants to live as far away from their families as they can. Rocio wonders where they will live. She really doesn’t like the idea of marrying in secret. Beto doesn’t like the idea either, but it’s the only way. Maria overhears them talking about marrying in secret.

Rocio explains that they didn’t want Maria to find out this way. They just don’t feel they have any other choice. Maria asks when they plan to marry and Rocio tells her 3 weeks. Maria is shocked. Maria feels she has to tell Facundo. Beto doesn’t care if his parents like it or not (He wasn’t as disrespectful as I’m making it sound.) He mentions how badly Fac has been treating him. Maria asks about that.

Facundo and Maria Take Two
Maria goes to see Facundo about Beto’s demotion. She tells Fac he can say whatever he wants to her, but he cannot be that way with the kids. Fac just wants Beto stop seeing Rocio. Maria thinks he should just talk to him. Fac wants to know if there is anything else he can do for Maria *hubba hubba eyebrow waggle.*

Maria goes back to Beto and Rocio. She did not rat them out. That’s where my recording cut out.

Sounds like I missed an Estefy scene. WAH!!!!

Hope you're enjoying your evening, Sara.

Yay! Maria is supporting our young lovers! She got Beto his job back. And she slapped Fac. Now, she just needs to take a stand on the younger kids being able to be friends with Ale. She's going to need her friends now that her parents have split up.

I wouldn't mind Maria packing Fac's suitcases and sending him on his way, like Isa did to Santi. Maybe that will happen soon.

It's way past time for the Carmonas to get a restraining order against HM.

Another good one! They just keep coming.

The good: María slapping Facundo into his place.( He was so nasty with what he said to her.) María supporting Beto and Rocío. Felipe making peace with Beto..

The bad: Facundo

The funny: The attacking, cartwheeling, back flipping Isabel. Estefany exercising at the gym. Santiago referencing Paquita la del barrio with "abundan ratas de dos patas" (two legged rats abound).

Nanette, sure agree with you about Hilda. I liked María telling her: don't call me mother in law.

Well, I am off!

Jarifa

Hola Mi Gente del Patio!

I just finished watching and I'm working on a quick summary. My recording cut off right as Isa was explaining that she is going to take charge and be head of the family (right after Santi left.) Did it run over last night?

Anyway, I don't have the end of the episode :-(

I'm really sorry I'm so late with this.

Sara, no problem with/no need for apologies ever with timing of recaps or anything else with recaps. We all have lives.

It started about 4 min. late(were they still covering the Pope?)so it did run late.

Jarifa

Looking forward to it Sara!

Thank you thank you Maria for putting Fac in his place about all of it!

I thought it was pretty rich of Isa to be soooo upset that Santi was cheating when she hasn't let him touch her in about a year (It was 6 months when Carmonas moved in and I'm adding another 6), told him she didn't love him and then went after Fac right in front of his face, and kissed Fac a few times. Santi isn't a saint by any stretch but I keep feeling sorry for him because I know he loves his wife. When Isa told him she was going to try to work on their marriage but that was over now, I was like "really"? When did that happen? She is best at playing the victimized party. I felt nothing for her as she cried. I can understand her anger at her psychiatrist and at Santi since she thinks they were working together but not her pain. Telling the kids what happened and dumping it all on Santi, while he tried to protect them when he could have called her out on Fac, again proves she doesn't mind hurting them to get sympathy.

Hilde stole Rocio's phone so I wonder what craziness will come of that now.

Poor Estefany. I think she really wants to be good and have a nice family but doesn't know how because she has never had one. Really hoping she and Florencio get together.

Thank you Jarifa. Duh. I had to FF to get to the beginning of it. Why am I surprised I didn't get the end? *facepalm* LOL.

It was a good episode. I am loving the new Maria.

Sara, yes, hope you had a great time last night. My heavens, no apologies necessary.

Thanks Vivi and Jarifa...

I thought this was one of the most (among few) depressing episodes thus far. I felt badly for Isa, she was heartbroken. Still, I believe (and correct me if I am wrong), that she told Ale to go to Santi, he was her father.

Maria was wonderful and I am also delighted she accepted Rocio (finally).

Facundo continues to dismay and disappoint. I am hereby stripping him of his galan status.

Diana

I think there were two big news stories coming out of Mexico that might have pushed back schedules-- Joan Sebastian died, and the escape of drug kingpin El Chapo Guzman.

Thanks Carvivlie!! I didn't realize that what Hilda took was a phone!!! Just fixed that. I'm also with you on Isa. She's no saint.

Diana:
"Facundo continues to dismay and disappoint. I am hereby stripping him of his galan status."

I have a lovely mental image now of the Caray Galan Status Committee. This needs to become a reality.

Vivi- I am really depressed about Joan Sebastian.

Ok. I really need to finish. I've got work to do. ;-)

Stop being so fun! (Just kidding.)

Diana- Yes. Isa did do the right thing at the end of that scene by telling Ale to go see her father off. But I still think too often she loves playing the victim in front of the kids, and says things she shouldn't in front of them-- especially Ale.

Ok. I've got a little summary up. I can't hang out much on the patio today, but I'm looking forward to reading the comments. The patio is so good at pointing out all these characterizations that I totally miss. :-)

Thanks Sara as always !!! I couldn't figure out what Hilda took either, what damage will she concoct indeed. I thought Santi was just horrid to Conchita. All those years of taking care of his family lovingly and then to be treated like that. That seemed out of character for Santi, poor writing?

Wow, Maria ruled last night !! I do hope tho someone can talk Rocio and Beta into pushing the wedding out, way out, beyond 3 months.

Lola

Thanks for the recap, Sara. It was perfect!

I think Santi got really touchy and then mean with Conchita because she was implying or outright calling him gay (all the bleeped out stuff). Just a bit of silliness and misunderstanding between those two.

Your recording cut off when Maria tells Beto and Rocio how she and Facundo had to fight against everyone to get married, even Perpetua (who was team Florencio!). The only two people who supported them getting married was Porfirio and Tia Humilde, and for that Maria will be eternally grateful. She then basically offers up herself as their Tia Humilde, who will support them in the face of opposition, even against Fac.

The scene with Stefi was her at the gym, with the trainer, punching and kicking the punching bag with much vigor. She's trying to figure out how to change to a good person and how to make others believe she can be good. She's so frustrated she accidentally punches the trainer for real. He offers to listen to her and she accepts and tells him to meet her somewhere. By the look on his face, it's uncertain if he thinks they are just going to talk or do other stuff.

Lola, I could see their wedding capping off the finale.

Thanks Vivi for the explanation. I was wondering why Santi was being so snippy with Conchita. Her socks are horrible but I do always check them out.

Thanks for your take Sweet Baby, appreciate it!

Was cute when Isabel gave that little wave as Santiago left the house. What in heck does Santiago expect, he's a serial cheater.

Thank you Maria for not disclosing the marriage to the little bully boy in a big man's shirt. When I watch Beto and Rocio together I'm totally in too.

Oh wait?? So Facu doesn't know about Rocio and Beto and Maria's approval? I thought that's why she went to see him. Or, was it just to persuade him to hire Beto back to the company?

Lola

Lola- The kids thought she was going to speak to Fac about his hazing of Beto at work, AND about the planned elopement. But she only spoke to Fac about how badly he treated Beto and made him give Beto back his job, and also made him promise to speak to Beto instead of resorting to this petty mean stuff. But somewhere along the line, she decided not to tell him about the wedding.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, thanks Vivi !! This will come back to bite her.

Lola

Sara, clever and thought provoking. I love your comments that are always stated with heart and with humor. Savored every single word.

"I thought Santi was kind of mean to Conchita and her socks..." and "Continuing the tradition of the kids being more mature than the adults" were among my favorites.

Not understanding much of the language, finding out Facundo’s exact accusations has infuriated me. He has certainly been guilty of un-galanlike behavior and Maria is guilty of no such action. Sadly, the old adage the best offense is a good defense applies here. I’m angered further by the insincere apologies – “He wants to bust his own nose for saying it” (I would have loved to have seen that!). But he continues to run off at the mouth every chance he gets, doesn’t he? Sigh.

“She tells Fac he can say whatever he wants to her”. Really Maria?? How very disappointing. I’m interpreting that you didn’t mean that at all the way it sounded and that you REALLY mean the opposite, you won’t tolerate Facundo’s screaming at you any longer.

Sara, how do I sign up for the Caray Galan Status Committee?? I find I often like galans who are not perfect but show shades of gray. However, I have a low tolerance for bullies/brutes or others of similar ilk. Count Facundo in that category at the present please.

Glad to see Maria did not tell Fac about Beto and Rocio. It would be nice if Fac had a change of heart but that is likely not to be, especially as they plan to marry in a matter of weeks.

tofie, you are right - Santi is a serial cheater. Isa is no prize but Santi does not appear to be capable of fidelity for more than a NY minute.

Diana

Thanks everyone!

Vivi thanks for filling in where my recording cut off. I hope that doesn't happen tonight because again I might not get to watch until late or in the morning.

Oh Diana - I'll put you down as a founding member! The last few years have seen a crop of brutish galans. I don't like it.

Beto and Diego (I'll even toss in Feli... Oh and Jacinto!) - - now THOSE guys are galans.

Thanks for the very enjoyable recap, Sara. What a nice break for this p.m. Thanks, Vivi, too.

I love the idea of the Caray Galan Status Committee. Galanes, as we are seeing, can shift all over during a show.

Just a testament to the great acting ability of Yáñez in this show that his portrayal of Facundo has taken me from really liking Facundo at the beginning to currently not being able to stand him.

Btw, my last scene was Santiago barging in on Mireya in her office as she was talking to Esteban about Isabel discovering her with Santiago and about their "plans." Santiago hears the conversation and demands to know what plans she has with Esteban.

Jarifa

Jarifa- Thanks for that last scene. Yes. Now we'll see if Mireya can wriggle out of this, but I think she'll have to admit to her and Esteban's evil plan to drive Isa bonkers.

Oh wow, Jarifa. Thanks! Someone might be on to Santi and Mireya.

Ugh. I mean Esteban and Mireya.

Sara, "The last few years have seen a crop of brutish galans. I don't like it". Neither do I...It seems galans with depth and shades of grey were passed over for brutes (Rulli in Lo que la vida me robó was gruesome).

And Jarifa, ITA with your comment on Eduardo. I have to keep reminding myself this was the dreamy man from Amores Verdaderos (among many others). I do think he is an excellent actor and could likely do a villain masterfully. Here's hoping that doesn't happen! ;)

Vivi, there is something especially despicable about doctors who violate their patients and their rights. Mireya can be locked up and the key thrown away and I wouldn't bat an eyelash.

Diana

I'll do a summary in the morning. Again, I apologize for the delays this week. Things should be back to "normal" next week.

Looking forward to it, Sara. Rocio brought it up this episode, and we didn't really talk about it last episode, but it puts Isa's crying scene in a whole new light. Isa was bragging to the kids over breakfast how she was giving the marriage another try and even got Santi to go to couple's therapy. This was all a show, because we know she only went to that session to see if Santi and Mireya were having an affair. Santi's nervousness basically proved it. She also knew that Santi would likely want to talk to Mireya afterwards and had Este ready to follow them, so that she could catch them red handed and finally have a reason to get rid of him. All of this is to say that her hurt and tears in front of Ale and Feli was a SHAM. She does not feel sad or hurt about it. And last night we saw how calm and happy she was. She was more devastated by Facundo's rejections than by the end of her marriage. And now it seems she intends to go after Fac as a poor, single mother, and the dummy will fall for it.

My apologies everyone. My friend had to change schedules today so I will not be able to even watch until practically time for tonight's episode. So please feel free to discuss away. I am really sorry.

Vivi- really don't like what I'm reading about Isa. Drat. I should have known those tears were fake. I'm going to hope that the wizard gives Fac a brain. (Ha ha! And Florencio is the scarecrow with heart!)

No worries, Sara. Not a ton happened this episode.

- The Carmonas turn themselves into a huge cheerleading squad to support Jacinto during his math competition-- special t-shirts, pompoms, drums, cheers, horns, concessions, the whole works as if they were going to a soccer competition. It's fun and hilarious (check out Maria channeling Animal from the Muppets on her drum), until they're inside and can't to be it down and are kicked out. They spend the rest of the time outside waiting for the results.

- Estefi and her aunt stay home at the Carmonas cooking a special victory dinner for Jacinto and the family.

- Isa is calm and happily doing yoga. Rocio calls her on her attitude and accuses her of just wanting to get rid of Santi, with no intention to work on her marriage as she claimed.

- Earlier in his office, Fac started thinking about Isa and how he hasn't heard from her in a while. He wonders how she's doing. His angel and devil appear and he shoos them both away.

- Mireya wiggled out of Santi's suspicions after he hears her call with Esteban. She claims its not the Esteban they know. In fact, it's her HUSBAND. She claims she married and the thing with Santi was just an adventure. She ends things with him.

- Santi goes to live with Esteban and cry about Puchis.

- Esteban goes over to Isa's house to tell her about Santi and to slime on her now that she's single. He declares his feelings, she rejects him. After he leaves, she thought bubbles that she should have never told him her secret. She has a flashback to many years ago, having a tearful conversation with her sister (who is dark haired and wearing black like Rocio). She tells her sister that she can never forgive her for her betrayal. Her sister asks for forgiveness, but says she's leaving, going away with Felipe. There is something mentioned about this not being Felipe's fault. Honestly, I would have to watch it again to catch everything. I wasn't paying enough attention. Whoever can watch this final scene again, please elaborate.

- Florencio moves to D.F. with an entourage of Maria's ratero cousins, Panzon, and another guy. They are house hunting.

Sara, no problem.

Thanks in advance for header for tonight.

Jarifa

Thanks, Vivi.

Lots of funny in this episode:

Santiago believing that "Esteban" is really another new Esteban, Mireya's husband.

The Facundo devil and angel talking to him.

The Carmona's all wathing 3D tv with their 3D glasses on.

Conchita crying about Santiago being thrown out of his home but only telling the Carmona's (gathered inthe living room ) that she was crying because she saw something that impacted her a lot. Immediately Granny Perpétua jumps in with it had to be bacause she saw that old pig Porfirio walking around naked in the house. Granpappy Porfirio answers back to Granny that it must be her own erotic fantasies she's thinking about in her big old head. He didn't do anything. Then he asks Muchi the dog for confirmation.

Susana "gusana" actually doing "the worm" at the Math Olympiad. Later she is blowing her "vuvuzela" (obnoxious plastic horn blown at soccer games around the world). ( I have always wanted one of these)

María getting carried away (like never before?) (!) with her drumming and cheering Jacinto. Even Facundo looks surprised but she quickly regains her composure.

Granpappy giving Jacinto a calculator. When Jacinto tells him they cannot use calculators at the contest, Granpappy says he knows but he gave it to him so if another kid looks like he is winning, Jacinto can smack him upside the head with it.

Estefany making the raw chicken talk as her aunt is cooking the kitchen.

Other things:

Esteban sees this as the time for Mireya to go after Santiago and get Isabel in the mental hospital. Mireya wants no part of Santiago because she does not want Isabel as her enemy. Esteban threatens to report Mireya to the College of Psychiatry(must be licensing board) if she does not do what he wants. So what? Isabel has threatened her with the same thing. Esteban reminds her he is her greater enemy because he knows her "secret " and that he can use at any time against her.

Added detail of the flashback: Isabel never expected such a betrayal let alone from Malena. Malena tells Isabel that she cannot go on if Isabel does not forgive her. She asks that she do it for her son Felipe. Isabel says that Felipe is the very cause of her pain. Malena says that her son is not blame for anything. Isabel agrees she might be right. Nevertheless, children sometimes are innocent but end up carrying a very heavy cross for their parents anyway. Malena ends hoping to see Isabel again; Isabel never wants to see Malena again.
(I wonder about the name "Mal"ena)

Jarifa

Whoops, "Granpappy" says that Granny is having erotic fantasies.

Jarifa

Jarifa- Yay. Thanks for going back and getting the details of the conversation between Isa and her sister.

Vivi, It was luck I had taped that section. Had a phone call last night and hit the record. :)

Jarifa

Animal on Drums-- this was Maria: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8aGlOj2VFo

Popping in real quick to thank you Vivi and Jarifa. It sounds like so much fun! I hope I can watch it today!

I love the Muppets, so I really want to see Maria as Animal.

Thanks Vivi and Jarifa for filling us in!

Must say I'm more confused now by Isa's secret. The whole conversation around Felipe makes it sound like he may be a product of Malena and Isa's boyfriend/husband at the time. Could Felipe really be Santi's son and he never knew? What I don't understand is why Isa was so hellbent on getting Rocio committed by her bday (now a dropped plot point) and why she treats her so poorly? Is it that Rocio is so like her mother that Isa is taking her angst against her sister out on the daughter?

I said yesterday that Isa was just trying to gain sympathy from the kids with her whole crying jab and lies over Santi. Last night just hammered the nail in farther. No one plays the victim better than Isa.

Fac thinking about Isa makes me sick especially after everything he put Maria through regarding Florencio.

The family should have brought food to the competition and made it a tail-gating party.

Sara, you are beyond faithful in your recapping. Please relax today - we all look forward to your next...

Vivi and Jarifa, thank you so much for your excellent, detail laden summaries.

Vivi, your "It's fun and hilarious (check out Maria channeling Animal from the Muppets on her drum)" made me smile in delight. What a perfect image that evoked.

Jarifa, loved your "Susana "gusana" actually doing "the worm" at the Math Olympiad. Later she is blowing her "vuvuzela" (obnoxious plastic horn blown at soccer games around the world). ( I have always wanted one of these)". Me too!

Loved Maria and Susana (our most rather reserved characters) cutting loose. What fun.

Both Santi and Isa are downright unlikeable at this point. I experience moments of sympathy for each at certain times, which quickly diminishes. They are definitely better apart than together.

I'm trying to pointedly ignoring Facundo. He is not doing or saying much to warrant any attention from me. Hrrummph.

Amigas, I am lost as to Isa's flashback. Young Feli has something to do with what happened? I'm totally confused.

Diana

Carvivlie our comments crossed.

Isa is a mystery to me and I don't know why she treats Rocio badly (not that she treats any of the kids all that great).

ITA that Facundo thinking about Isa was revolting considering he read Maria the riot act about Florencio. Another reason he is getting the cold shoulder from me.

Diana

Another funny scene: Drunk Estefi (she got drunk because she's sad about how no one believes she can be good), goes to Facundo's office. She sits on his desk, but tells him she's not after his fine bones anymore, since Maria is now like her sister. She sees he's down and tells him what he needs is a buddy/bff (very true) to talk things over with. She offers herself up as his amigo and says they should go get some tequila like good machos from Jalisco (or some such). Facundo says he isn't from Jalisco. She says she isn't a macho, so they're even. LOL. They head for the door, but he ditches her and closes the door.

Diana- the cold shoulder is only for the character Facundo, right? Big Ed is still dreamy, right?

Vivi et al thank you for the scenes. If I'm forced to FF I'll know which ones to definitely make time for.

Sara, oh yeah.

Facundo? Zero. Eduardo? Hero.

Diana
