Yo No Creo En Los Hombres Capítulo 8 Thurs 07-23-2015

Not one to be ruffled by the appearance of the person she and her horrible spawn were just bashing, Úrsula breezes over to dear Susy. She promises to scold the butler for not telling them she was there and Susy notes that he didn’t offer her anything to drink either. Ah, well, no matter they must get going. Max’s mom, Alma is waiting for them to pick her up. Maleny and Úrsula nervously follow her out to the car.

Josefa whines bitterly about MD getting her job back and all the guys lining up to help her while she, somewhat roughly, cleans Isela’s wound. She spits that the ruckus Isela made about lawsuits came to nothing for her. Isela says that she didn’t think the company would give she and MD back their jobs, but she thought crying to the Bustamantes might get hired in their offices. Someone knocks on the door. Jo goes to open it and comes face to face with Mr. Bustamante himself.

Gerry’s on the phone with MD, telling her that Jacinto just accused her of having stolen the dress. She protests that she didn’t do it. He believes her, saying it’s just Jacinto trying to get more traction on this case. They hang up weirdly (there’s just a dial tone on MD’s side, even though they’re in the middle of a conversation. Weird editing.) The seamstresses ask MD why she didn’t explain what happened. What’s she going to do now? MD vows that she’s going to produce that dress for Gerry and Ivana. She doesn’t know how, since the material he gave her was imported and crazy expensive and what’s in the bag is a bunch of cheap stuff, but she’s going to figure it out. Everyone’s job is on the line.

At the boutique, who’s assigned to take care of the Leech Ladies Club (minus Alma) but our lovely Doris. Mal takes one look at her, and dismisses her services; they don’t need anything in extra large. The manager notes that they don’t carry extra large sizes. She tells Doris that they’re Ivana’s special guests and she’s in charge of assisting them.

Josefa spits in Claudio’s coffee before serving it and leaving him to talk with Isela. (He ends up not drinking it anyway). He returns Isela’s cell phone, which fell out when he hit her with the car. He brought her a bunch of fruits and veggies so she won’t have to cook, and insists again that he wants to take her to a doctor. She apologizes for him going to all this trouble and for making him late getting home. He says he explained things to Alma and she was really worried for Isela.

Meanwhile, Alma’s trying on Doris’s suggestion. Úrsula says it’s nice, but doesn’t look like a dress for a gala opening. Alma confides that she wants it for her anniversary night with Claudio. They’re due for a romantic interlude and she wants to surprise him.

The Shop-for-rent lady catches up with Honoria as she’s going to give Fermin his next meal. She wanted to tell her that the police came around asking about Julian and Rodolfo’s death.

Daniel has stopped by to take MD to lunch, but she doesn’t want food: She wants to know what he did with the dress!

Josefa gleefully goes through the fruits and veggies. What quality! Orlando shows up. He also brought gifts for his beloved: oranges and a salve for her knee. Josefa loudly praises the fruit from Bustamante and then silently, but smugly, produces the Bustamante first aid kit stuff as well. Orlando leaves the pomade and shares a smile with Isela, who mouths “Gracias” to him as he leaves. She asks Josefa if she’s going to eat all of the magazine fruit that they got from the man that killed her daughter. That takes the wind out of Josefa’s sails.

At the boutique, Maleny doesn’t like anything Doris suggests. Since Doris obviously wears carpas(=tents), how can she possibly hope to dress Maleny’s svelte figure? No, Maleny will just have to do this herself. She dismisses Doris, blowing out her cheeks to make “fat” faces as she leaves. In the hallway, Doris is waylaid by a randy Ari. He kisses her up against the wall (and a light switch. Their actions keep turning the lights on and off). They end up taking their passionate make out session to a dressing room as they hide from her boss, who’s calling for her.
MD chews Dan out. He’s the only one who doesn’t want her working at the tailor shop and she gave the dress/material to him. He takes offense. How can she believe he would deliberately cause problems for her? He gets in the car, and MD, now thinking that she’s judged him with false accusations, calls for him to wait as he drives off.

At the boutique, an overly scandalized Úrsula is practically having a heart attack because she walked in on Doris and Ari’s make out session (geez, from her face, you would think she saw a dead body). Her freak out has brought everyone to the scene. The manager kicks Ari out as he clumsily tries to cover Doris, saying she told him someone was in there, but he didn’t listen. Maleny, having a much more silent heart attack, leans on a table for support and Doris looks like a kid about to get a spanking.

Honoria figures that Fermin turned the cops on to Julian to save his own skin in the Rodolfo situation. He shoots back that she created his vice and now he can’t shake it (Note: So he blames her for his alcoholism…?). She says if her son goes to jail because of him, she’ll stop having any consideration for him. He claims the kids who killed Rodolfo threatened to kill Julian too, if he or Hon open their mouths.

The boutique manager apologizes for The Incident (i.e. Mal and Ari). Mal demands that she fire Doris. Alma tells her that’s a little much and Úrsula backs Alma up. As the mom types leave, the manager tells Mal that she herself recommended Doris for the job. Well, Maleny is sorry she did and, despite what Alma said, demands that Doris be fired. She’ll tell Alma about it later. Úrsula swoops back in to get Mal, furious that Mal asked the manager to fire someone in front of Alma and Susy, acting like she owns the place. Mal tries to leave, saying she has to meet up with a friend. Úrsula nicks that idea in the bud and practically drags Mal out.

Leo talks to Julian and recommends him working with his brother’s financial lawyer friend. Honoria’s rushes in, worried about Julian. She hugs him close and tells her she loves him before leaving again. Leo and Julian praise their loving, supportive moms. Leo asks if Julian likes MD.

Doris apologizes to her manager, but still gets fired.

MD brings Isela and Julian up to speed on the situation with the dress. Isela thinks the tailor shop management set the whole thing up to trap MD with actual proof that she stole from them. Julian points out that they can fire everyone involved without the company taking a hit.

Meanwhile, two of the seamstresses have gone to beg Gerry for more cloth for the dress to help MD out. They’ll work overtime all year to pay for it, whatever it takes. Gerry’s sorry he ever stood up for MD in the first place. And there is no more fabric; he bought it all from a French supplier himself to make sure Ivana was the only one who had it on her dress.

Susana tells Ivana about the shopping scandal. She warns Ivana that the family has no money, that’s why Daniel is marrying her.

Julian calls the nightclub guy and takes the job. He needs the money right away.

Susana tells Ivana that the Santibañez called her a remora(=suckerfish (like a leech); obstacle, hnderance) and will kick her out once Ivana and Daniel marry. Ivana thinks Susy’s overreacting to Mal’s bad behavior and using it as an excuse to break up her and Dan. She tells Susana that she doesn’t need to worry; if she leaves the house, it won’t be because of the Santibañez, but her own actions. She leaves and Susy thoughtbubbles that Ivana’s a stupid girl who will pay for this.

Julian gives a protesting MD the money he got from the nightclub guy. She eventually accepts and hugs him. Max, coming to ask her questions, sees the hug and decides to leave. Josefa follows him. She introduces herself and shares the newest accusations against MD and implies that she uses men to get her out of jams. Max politely cuts her spew short and leaves.
Úrsula comes home ranting to Maleny about the boutique debacle. She fills Dan in on the fact that Mal tried to have an employee fired and bought half the darn store, which makes them look like their abusing Ivana’s kindness in providing dresses for the gala by Mal buying dresses for the whole flippin’ year! Dan asks for money to get his car out of the shop while disturbingly kissing Mal repeatedly on the shoulder and neck. (That incest bell is ringing again…) Úrsula tells him to take it up with Durango. She chews Mal out a little bit more until Mal shoves her drink at her mom, announces she knows what she’s doing and she’s going to over to Max’s. She screeches for Isidro as she leaves. Úrsula takes a drink of the drink Maleny’s left, clearly wondering how she ended up with these horrible children.

Clara shares her visit with Esperanza and MD. She reports that Leo’s house is HUGE and his mom is supernice. She also shares his situation with his dad. Esperanza worries that his dad won’t like him dating a girl of humble means, but Clara says his mom’s so great that she doesn’t think it’ll be a problem. Esperanza says Daniel also mentioned marriage. MD looks uncomfortable.

Ari meets with Maleny. He tries to spin a story about looking for her at the shop, but when he got caught, he kissed Maleny to throw off suspicion. Maleny doesn’t buy it. She kicks him out of her car and says they’re through!

Doris is leaving a message for Ari as she leaves his place. A group of guys start following her. She beats them back with her purse but they keep coming. She sees Orlando and practically jumps on him with “mi amor!”s so that the guys think he’s her bf.

Clara and Esperanza encourage MD to make up with Dan.  Espie tells them Dan’s paying for a mass for Rodolfo. She thinks he’s doing it because he didn’t have the chance to meet him and this is his way of making up for that.

Ari has apparently come to pick Doris up. She blows him kisses from the car as he tells Orlando he knows her because she’s the sister of a friend and he helped her get a job. Orlando asks why Ari denied knowing her before. Ari says it’s because she’s fat and Orlando, semi-disgusted, semi-“whatever”, tells him to take her home because she’s still pretty shaken up. In the car, Doris asks if he was telling Orlando she’s one of his girlfriends. He doesn’t respond and drives off.

Max fills Maleny in on where he was – trying to talk to MD because the case still isn’t closed. Maleny exudes some jealous vibes and Max tells her he couldn’t talk to MD b/c she was with her boyfriend.

Maleny fills Gerry in on the shopping debacle. They agree that Maleny and Daniel are lazy good-for-nothings when it comes to work. Gerry suggests that she check out their finances if she wants to be sure of why Dan is pursuing her.

Maleny brings a still-sleeping Max breakfast in bed. “Imagine waking up like this everyday,” she teases. He sleepily asks if she’s proposing. “Yes,” she whispers, going in for a kiss.
Susana has invited Úrsula over for breakfast. Úrsula asks why and Susy says she just wants Úrsula to see how The Rémora lives.

Jacinto and his lawyers meet with Max and Ivana’s lawyers. Jacinto says he’ll leave if MD and Isela also get fired.

Úrsula looks ready to pass out now that she knows Susana really did overhear them talking about her and Ivana yesterday. Susana sits her down to talk, leech to leech. She knows that Daniel’s only pursuing Ivana for her money, but she wants Ivana to be happy, even if that means she married good-for-nothing Daniel. She won’t reveal the Santibañez for the users they really are if they agree not to mess up her comfy situation either. If not, she’ll ruin them in society circles by sharing their true financial situation.

MD’s seamstress friends managed to get a very similar fabric from somewhere. They haven’t paid for it yet, but- No matter! MD has the money to pay for it. An overjoyed MD hugs them all and thanks them profusely for all of their help.

Josefa tells Esperanza and Honoria that Julian’s messing with a bad crowd in order to give MD and Esperanza financial help. Both women leave her outside, but worry that she’s telling the truth.

Hon asks Julian about what Josefa said. He admits he gave MD the money, but it’s from an accounting client. Honoria worries about how he got all of this money; she doesn’t want him to end up in jail! Josefa smirks with satisfaction outside the window alongside a dismayed Esperanza.

Max talks with Gerry about the new accusation against MD for stealing the dress. Gerry admits MD’s work friends came to him about it, but this is the first time they’ve had this kind of problem with MD.

Úrsula fills Mal, Dan and Durango in about Susana figuring them out. She tells them they have to be very careful. She orders Durango to make sure no one finds out about their finances, she orders Maleny to keep going to the club (to keep up appearances), and she will take Dan to get the best engagement ring Mexican society has ever seen.

Julian is working out the rent with the shop lady, but Esperanza tells him not to worry. She doesn’t want Honoria to be worrying about him. Now that she’s a single mom, she understands those worries much more.

Max, Ivana, Gerry and the company lawyer meet to discuss the case. They don’t want a scandal, especially this close to the premier of the new line. Max will work on strengthening the sexual assault case; now that Jacinto’s gone, the ladies shouldn’t be too scared to testify against him. The company lawyer suggests they just give him what he wants: MD and Isela have to be fired and a contract written up that specifies that the company can’t rehire them as seamstresses ever again. Ivana agrees.

Susana plays back a recording on her phone. She’s taped her meeting with Úrsula!

Thank you Hellashelle. This was quite a hilarious recap. I especially LOL'd at "Leech Ladies Club" ," Maleny, having a much more silent heart attack, leans on a table for support and Doris looks like a kid about to get a spanking."

This is so true. Susana, Ursula and Maly make a dreadful combination. The only good left there were Alma and Doris. Atleast Ursula tries to keep things together even if it is all in vain. Too bad that the snobs are beyond her control. I don't view her as an evil, wicked person just yet. I just view her as a desperate, common day mother. To me Josefa is currently the worthless mother here.

Josefa's bad manners are beyond the charts, she would never be welcome at any tea party. The last episode was named " A Mole to Remember", Today it seems that the title is " A Spit to Remember" ! I was so glad that Claudio avoided the tainted coffee thus keeping his soul safe from Hoe-tastic germs with success.

Very entertaining, Hellashelle. Thank you for straightening me out on a few things.

Too bad nasty suckerfish-leech Susy is the Truth-Teller in this tale.

I gagged when I saw Ho-Sefa spit in the coffee and hand it to Claudio. Yes, CountX--a Spit to Remember! Good one.

Daniel "taking offense:" He very cleverly turns it back on MD saying he only took the bag for safekeeping. He did not look in the bag, did not know what was in it.

Will try to get back later. Can't wait for tonight's episode. Let's see what we need to "remember."

Oh, BTW, did anyone catch Ivana's words at the end--the two women would not be hired back as seamstresses? Well, if Isela gets the job with Bustamante's office and MD gets hired as the NEW floor MANAGER? That would satisfy the terms of the settlement, no?

Thank you hellashelle, love your wit.

Hellashelle, thanks for the fun read. Very entertaining as I try to sort out all these characters.

I hope good things happen for Julian. Whoa, Josefina is one nasty piece of work - so gross.

Thank you for the recap Hellashelle! I'm sorry Doris got fired, Maleny was awful for that.

I always wonder with people like Ursula, who can tell certain behaviors are wrong but don't care much about their wrongness but about what other people think of them.

Jarocha

Hi guys!

thanks for reading; this TN is way more dense than the other I'm watching (Sombra) so I'm going to have to get on top of my recapping game!

Gotta run, but I'll jump on this side of the Patio more often this weekend.

PS: So far, Josefa's the one that most makes my skin crawl.

But also: WTH with the toucy siblings Dan and Maleny? QTHeck is going on there?!

Jarocha--Gracias for stopping by. Did you watch this one while it was on in Mexico?

I think women like Ursula are the lynchpins of telenovelas. We have two classic "Ursulas" to the extreme in Sombra--Candela and Prudencia and to a certain extent Pru's daughter, Val, who wants to be married before her pregnancy starts showing because she'd be the laughingstock of the town un-wed (or, she's absolutely sure EVERYONE will be talking about her behind her back).

Come to think of it, all the women in YoNo's barrio have reputations to uphold and have been watching over their sons' and daughters' reputations. They do it honestly--except for Josefa. She's a loose cannon for sure, sowing dissention everywhere she can. I could have strangled her when she started dissing MD to Max as he was driving away.

Hellashelle--I think Dan and Maleny are playing it perfectly--so we can be disgusted with both of them.

Thanks Hellashelle, I didn't realize you were recapping this one.

If you recall in Amor Bravio, the character that Flavio played in it had an unhealthy touchy/feely relationship with his mother too.

I'm really liking this one. They are so many things happening a once including logical and very realistic situations.

My favorite thing is that while storyline keeps moving forward there is a lot of care that is going into making every character's piece of the puzzle important and necessary in the greater scheme of things.

Personally I think Daniel loves MD very much like Ari really loves Doris but money, comfort and power will always come first.

Anita- I absolutely think that's why they phrased Ivana's line the way they did. I fully believe they'll hire MD back in Jacinto's place.

Really curious about what the heck happened with Fermin and Honoria. Their's in a bizarre situation.

Having never worked before, Mal and Dan clearly don't understand what losing one's job means for one's life. I don't even get Dan's end game on this; he doesn't have the money to support himself, much the less a financee and mistress, so what was he going to do once he got MD fired?

Maleny can take her skinny-binny hag self to the nearest nickel and dime store and pray they buy her for a penny.

I'm really worried about what happens when the missing dress is found. Ivana's not the type to wait for proof or facts, so Max would have to track down the salesgirl that Dan threw the dress at. Even then, Lord help her when Ivana finds out about two-timing Dan, since she already has something against MD. Seriosuly, MD just needs to find a different job.

Cathyx - yeah, they had so WEIRD moments between them on AB, but this thing with Dan and Maleny is extra creepy.

PS: Would someone please cut Julian's hair and wash that gel out?!

Gracias, Hellashelle.

I missed the last 15 minutes of this because my computer gave up in the heat. I have come to love winter.

Daniel is in capable of love. He doesn't love Maria Dolores any more than he loves Ivana. He's "slumming" and he'll run when he gets bored. Just like Maleny will between Ari and Max or whomever replaces either or both of them.

Maleny has some bloody nerve and she will get hers for getting Doris fired.

Hellashelle, liken the recape girl. Funny stuff,
"Melany left wondering how she ended up with these horrible children", well let's see you and their father had hot monkey sex and 9 months later these two demon seeds popped out. and they're just like mommy and daddy.
Yeah, julian looks like he could be very attractive without that hair style. And get him some medical attention, find out why he keeps almost falling.

Anita: Yeah, I did watch this when it was on. This was actually the first episode I watched, later I watched most of the first episodes online. This was my favorite novela of the year.

I think Ursula has a level of self awareness that Prudencia and Candela lack. It's an interesting comparison because it's true they are similar but Ursula is more calculating and she can easily see from Alma's point of view what would put her off but Candela has never been able to engrace herself with Jerónimo.

Jarocha

Jarocha--
I was only "typecasting" the rich and self-entitled in telenovelas. Ture, Ursula has been on her own for awhile (since the suicide and we don't know if that was months or years). She's had the close connection with her financial advisor-lawyer guy, so she is more aware of her financial position and has to be more calculating. Pru and Cande just assume the money pot is bottomless and Cande, of course, has her own money and land.

Yo No

Can someone please explain who Susanna is. Is she Ursula's sister? Thank you .

Anon 1:43,
Susana Duval is Ivana's aunt [who keeps making snide remarks to Ivana about her weight].
I don't think Susana is related to any of our other characters.

Anon1:56
Yo No
Thank you so much. I was going crazy trying to figure that out as I'm trying to get all of the characters
straight in my mind.
