Lo Imperdonable #62 (Tel #63) Wed 8/12/15 "Party On While You Can, Folks, Because Your Happiness Is About to End!!!"

Quick Note:  Hi everyone, I'm back and happy to report that we made the move across country without a hitch.  First, allow me to give a quick shout out and thank you to the rest of our recap team for pinch hitting for me these past few weeks.  They all did a great job, as usual.  Also, I managed to catch up yesterday on my reading of all recaps and comments and in the process I realized (since I watch the Mexico broadcast) that at some point Univision combined two episodes, so that Univision's episode #62 last night was actually episode #63 of the original Televisa broadcast in Mexico.  I noted this in my title for any of you that read our recaps but watch online copies of Televisa's broadcast.

On with the recap.  Some scenes are combined.

Lo Viejo:  V-Snake feels awful, but it's no surprise.  Daniel warned her of the effect of the medicine he gave her to cause her a medical crisis and gain even more sympathy from her family.  She whispers to him a plan for squeezing all the juice out of this manufactured "crisis".  Vero tells Martin she has to go to Mexico City and can't wait any longer because she is worried about Malena.  Malena runs to the shower to wash away the filth left on her body by her rapist husband Aaron.

Lo Nuevo:

Martin promises Vero that he will speak with her doctor about going to Mexico City, but if the doctor says it's too dangerous for her, then he can't do anything about it.  She tells Martin she needs to go to their room to rest.  After she leaves, Martin tells Alfredo how happy he now is with Vero, but confesses he still has to learn to control his jealousy.  He worries that Emi still loves Vero even if he plans to marry Virginia.  Alfredo reminds him Vero loves him, but he needs to control his jealousy or he will lose her forever.  The doctor shows up.  Martin tells him about Vero's wish to go to Mexico City and the doctor agrees to examine Vero.

Daniel informs Emi and Jorge that V-Snake's heart was weakened by the malaria, but he managed to control her crisis.

Raymunda cleans Manuel's wounds and lectures him about his bad behavior.  He convinces her he has learned the error of his ways and begs her to talk to Joaquin about giving him a job in the mine.  Polito shows up and freaks out when he sees him.  Manuel tells him he wants to talk to him "man to man" and to apologize to him, right there in front of his mom.  In fact, he wants them to be friends, heck, best buddies like "compadres"....Stupid Raymunda convinces Polito to forgive Manuel, as a test that he "knows" how to forgive and not give in to the worst monster out there, named "rancor".  (No Raymunda, you dope, Manuel is a much bigger monster than mere "rancor".)  Poor Polito even has to take a hug from Manuel.  Ewww.

Salma prays for her "daughter" in the hospital's chapel.  Jorge comes and informs her that Daniel controlled V-Snake's crisis.  Salma is relieved to hear her "daughter" is better, but then she chews out Jorge for not coming to get her as soon as Daniel came out of her daughter's room.  He tells her it's not a good time to fight.  She agrees but says that lately she feels like he just does not take her into account.

Pierre listens to a voice mail message from Claudia telling him she misses him, and he immediately calls her back.  She again tells him she misses him very much.....Pierre informs Claudia that today Pablo will officially request Ana Perla's hand in marriage.  Claudia almost spills the beans about Mariana but holds herself back, then bemoans the fact that everyone is getting married except her.  After she hangs up, she asks herself when Pierre will be asking her to return to him.

The doctor finishes examining Vero and tells her that unfortunately she still has inflammation in her head and some of the impulse tests he performed showed a somewhat slow response.  She is improving with treatment but is still not permitted to fly.  The doctor leaves and Martin promises Vero that, as soon as she is allowed, they will travel together to Mexico City.  She then asks him to help her change clothes for the party.  He doesn't mind making that sacrifice.

Salma and Jorge go see V-Snake.  Jorge takes the opportunity to apologize to V-Snake for not realizing before that she is a very good girl.  He tells her he loves her like a daughter and he will be the happiest man on earth if she marries Emi.  She cries quietly, clearly relishing her victory.  She tells them she is so happy to get their blessing, but worries they are doing it out of compassion.  Jorge reassures her that he is sincere.

Malena answers a call from Vero while Aaron is fast asleep.  Vero tells her she is very worried for her.  Malena tries to convince Vero that she is better, that she was just reliving a part of her past she wishes she hadn't relieved - that's an understatement!!  Vero still feels she is not well because of her daughter and wishes she could help her.  Malena tells her she can help her by taking good care of Botel for her.  They both say in turn how much they love each other.

Daniel informs Emi that he has V-Snake's lab tests back, and he discovered something that worries him very much.  For dramatic effect, he breaks the news to Emi indirectly by asking him a question:  "Do you know who is the father of Virginia's child?  I need to speak urgently with him."....Emi confesses that he is the only person who could be the baby's father.  Daniel gives him the bad news that the baby was infected by the malaria and died, so they have to perform a "legrado" (aka, a D&C, aka dilation and curetage)....Daniel tells Emi that V-Snake is very sensitive and will need all of Emi's support.  Emi begs him not to say anything to his parents about this because they are very conservative and he doesn't want them to be "even more disappointed" in Virginia.  (Notice he didn't say disappointed in him, only in Virginia.  Gender bias, much?)  Mariana shows up and engages in useless chit chat with Emi.

Raymunda tells Joaquin that both she and Polito forgave Manuel because she did see "sincerity" in his eyes.  She begs him to give him a job too.  Joaquin says if Manuel wants a job, then he should ask him directly for a job.  She gripes that instead of being glad that Manuel wants to change, Joaquin is just "making all things difficult" for him.

Nanciyaga tells an elder that they made a mistake about her future.  He tells her firmly that the future cannot be changed.  "What we saw in the visions is what it is.  You have to help your selected man.  The stars don't make mistakes."  He adds that she has to be patient and wait for things to fall into place, otherwise anything she does to change things will only bring bad things for many people.  She insists that she "knows" she must end up with patron Martin.

Crescencio and his brood are all ready for the big event, dressed in their town's typical "engagement party" attire.  Meanwhile, Martin and Vero goof around and are all lovey-dovey as they start to walk from the hotel to Crescencio's home.  He stops and remembers he forgot something.  Vero waits outside while he goes back in to get what he forgot.  Nanciyaga shows up suddenly and asks Vero if it is true that "hombre rubio como sol" is going to marry the "mujer ma...", er, "mujer rubia".  Vero confirms it and asks why she cares so much about her cousin.  Nanciyaga ignores her question and instead says "my heart can't be divided between two men", then runs off.  Martin comes back out, along with Pierre and a ridiculous-looking Pablo dressed in local "engagement party" attire.  Pierre offers to help Vero walk with her crutches, but he is stopped suddenly by Martin's ice cold stare.  Martin then helps Vero on his own.  Manuel observes them all from a few feet away, as he takes a swig of alcohol straight from a bottle.

Emi breaks the news to Virginia that she is pregnant.  He looks ashen.  She tells him not to look like that.  She already told him he should not feel obligated to anything.  He explains that the baby died, and she starts performing her preplanned drama about her dead baby....She turns up the drama, moaning that she wants her baby.  Emi runs out for help.  She stops the drama in a second, tells herself all this crying makes her hungry, and proceeds to pull out a bar of chocolate from under her sheets.  She calls out one more "I want my baby!!!" and starts to devour the chocolate.  (Gotta hand it to Grettel Valdez - that was hilarious!!!!!)

Everyone - family, friends and former enemies (except Manuel) - are gathered in Crescencio's living room, except "la novia".  Ana Perla now makes her not-so-grand entrance.  Crescencio begins what will be (after a few more scenes) a long, boring speech about the groom's obligations.  Joaquin whispers to Raymunda, reminding her it's the same speech he gave him a few years ago.

Outside, Julio runs into Nanciyaga and complains that she told him nothing but lies, because the woman he loves will marry another man.  She tries to convince him there is hope for him, just as there is hope for her.  "Have patience, noble man."  "What noble man?!  I will never again in my life show fidelity to anyone.  From now on, I'm only going to show my teeth."  ("Ensen~ar mis dientes" = be openly aggressive, defend his own interests, show he is strong.)  Another good guy bites the dust, Patio peeps.

Emi returns with Daniel to V-Snake's room.  He tells her she has to stay calm and be strong.  He goes out to get the nurse so she can give her a sedative.  Emi asks if she knew she was pregnant.  She says no, but she did not want him to find out like this, and if she had known before then she still would not have told him, so as to not mortify him.  She says she feels so bad that she lost the child of the only man she has ever loved, and her life doesn't have meaning anymore.  He promises that they can try again.  She turns sideways and smirks.

Crescencio's boring speech continues.  Polito starts to fall asleep, along with the rest of the Patio.  Crescencio finishes up by saying he doesn't like that his granddaughter set her eyes on a fueren~o, but Pablo has proven that he is a good person and gained "a bit" of his trust.  Now he just needs someone from Pablo's family to represent him, so he can give his consent.  Fortunately for Pablo, his mom shows up at that very moment.  Crescencio is taken by her and her "simpatica" personality.

Malena's psychologist shows up unannounced at her hotel room.  She doesn't let him past the threshold, since Aaron is standing behind the door, grabbing on to one of her wrists.  The doctor asks if she is ok because she doesn't look well.  He offers to continue their therapy at that moment.  She convinces him that she does not need therapy at that moment.  She is just tired and needs to rest, but once she feels better she will contact him.  After he leaves, Aaron warns her she better not try to escape.  She promises she won't but begs him to tell her more about her daughter.  He agrees, telling her their daughter inherited his good star.  After he set fire to their home, he took her away, but she was just a burden for him.  Plus, he was full of debts.  So, just like Malena did, he got a "special favor from a doctor" and faked his own death.  And their lucky daughter was adopted by a very rich family.

Previews:  V-Snake and Daniel celebrate their victory, without even caring that Emi is right there in the room, fast asleep right next to Virginia's bed.  Manuel interrupts the happy engagement party and ruins the moment for them all, but he also does the world a favor by destroying Pablo's horrendous "portrait" of the Alvarez family.

Welcome back, Latina!

I'm still reading but couldn't let this one pass by:

"The doctor finishes examining Vero and tells her that unfortunately she still has inflammation in her head and some of the impulse tests he performed showed a somewhat slow response."

hahahaha! That explains a lot...

Ok, back to the recap.

Delighted to know that you are all settled in (well, is one ever?) and hope it feels good to be back on the West coast. Each area of the country is so different, and all parts have their charm...but. Sometimes we just "fit" better in a certain territory.

Had to laugh at your characterization of Pablo's outfit. He did look supremely dorky. And uncomfortable during the Hombre speech. Best moment was the arrival of his Mom. I like that actress (she was in Refugio) and Don Cresencio's eyes certainly lit up, so maybe we'll have a marriage, even if it's not between Pablo and Ana Perla. Hmmm...no, that would be rather awkward, wouldn't it? Well, forget that.

Like you, I actually enjoyed Virginia's wicked fakery this time. The actress is clearly having a blast with the role. Might as well relax and enjoy it, instead of getting all worked up. Another gin and tonic please! And mil gracias for the recap, Latina. Good to have you back on board.

Thanks for the great recap! And thanks to Eli for yesterday's too. I haven't watched either episode and I think I'll pass on yesterday's after finding out about Maggie.

I knew Vsnake would somehow turn this to her favor. What can Nanci do? I don't see her turning up at the PC estate. I think things will get very bad for Emi for quite some time.

Absolutely delightful read, Latina. Thanks so much! I'm especially glad you included the noshing between plaintive wails. It really WAS hilarious.

I kind of liked Pablo in his traditional get-up. I like the actor and I like the character. So sue me... oh wait, please don't... :D

It was fun to see the girls "let down their hair" for the formal occasion. I like these scenes where everyone gets gussied up like that – we can pretty much count on them ending up badly.

And Nanciyaga complaining to Murray and Bernie (which is how I think of the elders with the speaking parts) that the pants are too long, er, the spirits got it wrong. Hah! Their insistence is good news for Emi since it means that in the end, he'll be free of wicked Ginny.

Did somebody say something about G&T's? Are you pouring, JudyB?

Thanks LatinaMD---Shouldn't it be LatinaCA now? Loved your recap. Looks like you are so right, looks like the brief happy moments are about to end. Damn! It was sure nice a day or two ago.

I liked Pablo's wedding duds. Thought he looked like marrying material. Ana Perla was so happy she looked like she was about to burst.

That terrible Manuel ruining everything for his sweet sister.

Ms. Valdez is a hoot. Whimpering one minute and chomping down on a candy bar the next. Even I had to chuckle at that one last night but she's still a little viper.

How long will it take our beautiful goddess to get Marty straightened out? She turned around the mean Rogelio Montero in another novela. My guess is that the sweet goddess can work another miracle and do it again.

Will Manuel get a beat down tonight?
Must see tv.

LatinainMD, enjoyed your recap, funnily good.
Raymunda is way to trusting, she saw true sincerity in his eyes, lady you're as blind as a bat. The devil will say anything to get what he wants from you. And he saw rayray comin. She gripes about "instead of being glad that manuel wants to change, joaq makes things difficult for him". Wahwahwah. Well rayray maybe he can see that manny is full of it.

Thanks so much for this nifty recap, Latina. I'm happy to hear that your move is complete and that you are comfortably settling in.

While I'm very concerned about Virginia's current illness and don't approve at all of the self-inflicted complications (malaria is serious enough without embellishment), she had me cracking up with the between the weeps snacking. Easly the best scene of the evening. I'm getting a huge kick out of her performance. She is such a wicked Pollyanna always making the malevolent most of unfortunate circumstances. The D&C really has me worried for her, however, especially if she wasn't really pregnant to begin with. Meanwhile, plenty of gin and tonics available at the Virginia Table.

Carlos

Thanks so much LatinaInMD for the recap. Enjoyed it.

I loved this episode. Polito’s sleeping was so funny.

I feel so sorry for Emi, he doesn’t deserve the way he is being treated by Virginia. He deserves better. I must say Grettel Valdez is a top class actress. She was very good.

The look in Martin’s face when Pierre wanted to assist Vero was so funny. I was laughing and I had to rewind it a few times to see that look.

This inflammation in Vero’s head, I feel it might come back to affect her in future episodes.

Hah...NovelaMaven...no, I'm not pouring. Our good buddy Carlos is. He's got the talent and the touch. All I do is drink. And say "thank you" of course!

LatinaInMD - Thanks for an amazing recap of last night. Glad to have you back and to hear that have settled in.

I loved Virginia sneaking in that snack between her tears as well. Very funny! I am loving Gretel Valdez in this role.

I liked Pablo in his traditional outfit too. For sure it helped him win some more points with Gramps as someone (can't remember who) noted.

The appearance of Pablo's mom was right on time. It was nice seeing the actress again. I had heard she had joined cast and was waiting for her to make her appearance.

Gramps giving the kids relationship advice. Yawwwwnn. Polo falling asleep was very funny. As was Martin and Veronica being all lovey dovey during it.

No More Mr. Nice Julio? Oh no! This can't be good. We have already seen him snap.

Raymunda, Raymunda, Raymunda. She had become likable but now she's reverted to being unlikable. What a fool she is. Poor Polo being forced to forgive Manuel because forgiving him makes him a better person (according to Raymunda).

BTW Where's Onix? Haven't seen him in a while.

LatinaInMD, thanks for detailed and delightful recap. Glad to hear you made the transition to the west coast ok.

Eli, need to thank you for yesterdays' recap and heartfelt critique.

V Snake and her candy bar! A girl's gotta keep her strength up while she bamboozles her nearest and dearest.

Nanci, Nanci--just because you're beautiful doesn't mean you know more than the elders! Maybe go throw some shells and see if you get an update.

Another funny part was when Nanci sneaked up to Vero and Vero was like "How many times have I told you not to sneak up to me?" and Nanci replied with a "I don't know. I have lost count". LOL

Nanci needs to listen to her elders. Sick and tired of her crushing after Marty. Get over it already!

So Nanci said "I don't know. I have lost count" hahahaha. That's so funny. I agree am tired of her obsession with Martin. She should leave him alone.

Yes. Nanci didn't know it was just an expression. LOL

Yes these people (Nanci, Emi, Julio, etc) need to get through their heads that "she/he isn't into you".

I also enjoyed the scene where Marty gives Pierre the "look" and Pierre backs off from trying to help Vero with the crutches.

So it is Latina M ove D one now? Oh how clever, I get it.
k

gringo -- "Will Manuel get a beat down tonight?"

I hope so. It's always fun to watch Manuel getting a beat down.

Latina you came back good as ever. Thanks for such a fun recap, and glad to hear you settled in. I grew up in California and still miss it.

Also thanks to the other recappers last week, I was in Cancun and didn't have a chance to watch the episodes until this week. You guys kept me from having Lo Imperdonable withdrawals!!!

My favorite part of last night was in fact Virginia munching away on her chocolate after moaning about her "lost baby". Shows she really is feeling a lot better. I wonder if that was scripted or the actress added that bit herself.

Like many of you, I also loved the look on Martin's face when Pierre tried to help Vero out. He just can't help antagonizing Marty.

Not only hoping for a Manuel beat down, but a Aaron beat down soon as well. Hate, hate his character and what he is doing to Malena.

Maricruz

"Not only hoping for a Manuel beat down, but a Aaron beat down soon as well. Hate, hate his character and what he is doing to Malena."

Yes. Aaron definitely needs a good beat down as well. Hate him.

Thank you for the marvelous recap. Loved Ginny's little snack break.

Caroyaga sees an anvil the size of a barn for Jerkface Rapist Man.

Lol. Sounds good to me.
