Lo Imperdonable #73 (Tel #74) Thu 8/27/15 How many times do the bad guys have to win??

I glossed over some of the useless chit chat and some of the scenes will be out of order.

Emiliano is upset because Salma and Virginia don’t want Veronica getting any of Jorge’s money. Virginia thinks that Vero doesn’t need it, she already has a rich husband. Emi is upset to be reminded of Martin, yet again and Virginia is bothered by his reaction – is he still in luuv with Veronica, even if he proposed to her?
Emi insists that they should all accept Jorge’s decision and he feels completely disappointed with Virginia’s reaction.
They go back and forth on this several times, with Salma adding her piece of venom, too, until Emi decides to storm off, tired by the women's negative yapping. Virginia runs after him, leaving Salma  crying - boohooo - and here comes Nico to comfort her. He’s sure everything will be OK, they are such a great family and both Emi and Jorge adore her. Salma is worried because her fights with Jorge over Veronica have become even more heated then before. Nico gives her an awfully big and warm hug (Cougar alert), managing to relax her. She wants to go talk to Jorge but Nico tells her that he is already in a plane back to Mexico.

At the hospital in the city, Daniel tells Crescencio that Manuel will survive, but he still needs a long treatment and there is no saying how long it will be before he can move. Crescencio is determined to help his grandson no matter what.
Mariana overhears the prognosis on Manuel and later tells Daniel that she needs his help to move Pablo to another hospital.
Because of course that Pablo is in the same place and he needs an expensive operation to fix his hand. Mariana is more than willing to pay for it, even after Pablo reminds him that they’re not as close as they used to be. They see Crescencio and he sees them, too. They don’t speak, but nobody is happy with the reunion.

Back in the pueblo, the padrecito is comforting the rest of the family. Blanquita would like to go to Mexico, to be with AP and to find a nursery school to study. Raymunda doesn’t want her living so far away from home, but Joaquim doesn’t see where the problem is.
Someone knocks at the door and Blanquita answers. She is immediately smitten with Eleazar, AP’s betrothed, who has come to stay with his padrino and meet his future bride, one would assume. Raymunda explains him that the situation is a little complicated because they have a serious problem in the family and Crescencio is out of town.

AP is worried for her sainted brother, but for Pablo, too. Accompanied by Vero and Martin, she goes to the hospital. Crescencio is upset to see her – he has no time to baby-sit (ugh), what is she doing in the city? Martin and Vero try to explain that they took care of her and things are not that bad for AP, she won’t destroy her life over what just happened, but Crescencio is furious and chases them off. This upsets Martin, who has tried to be decent so far, but let’s not forget that Manuel was the one to attack Pablo, he was the one to always carry a gun and if Crescencio will accuse Pablo, then Manuel is in trouble, too. Also, Manuel knows exactly what happened during the fire of their house.
This silences the old grump for a while, but not enough. He still defends his grand-son and demands that AP remain in his care, especially now that Pablo and his woman from the city are in the hospital, too.

Daniel calls Virginia, but she is in no mood to chat, because she doesn’t want to share her fortune with Veronica. She wants everything for her! And now she has to hurry to make up with El Nino (her words, not mine, but LOL - Virginia thinks the nickname is ridiculous, too; I really can't find any reasons to truly dislike her - honestly). Daniel tells her that he just saw Veronica, so that means that she’s back in the city. Oh, not her again - Virginia has enough to worry about so Daniel better keep an eye on the unwanted prima.
Later on Virginia finds Emi drinking at the bar. She apologizes for earlier, she was on Salma's side out of habit, without thinking things through. She doesn’t mind Veronica getting her share of teh family fortune, she was just jealous, because if Vero will inherit part of the estate she will want to live with them. Emi is tired of her jealousy, if she can’t let it go, then maybe they shouldn’t get married, after all.

Nancy is taking a purifying bath in the lake, wanting to put down the burning fire that Martin has ignited in her. Then she slaps some calming ointments on her skin, too, and this is all so nice and gratuitous, that it makes me cringe.
She finds Julio crying like a big baby – he misses AP so much. She thinks that he should not give up, but he doesn’t see any happy ending for him. Nancy is less reasonable, though,  she will have her patron Martin no matter what.

At the hospital cantina, Martin, Vero and Botel talk about Crescencio and the problems he might cause for Pablo. Martin won’t let anything happen to the painter, because Manuel was the attacker.
Botel would like to talk to Vero about Malena, but she’s not willing to listen to one word. He insists that she needs to know what happened, but Vero won’t budge. She’d rather give up on working with him at the mine if he continues to talk. This makes Botel back down.

Crescencio is in Manuel’s room, begging him to get well and shower them all with some of his anti-outsiders wisdom some more. Oh, how right he was about everything! He promises that as soon as he gets better, he will leave him the mine and everything else that he owns.
This wakes Manuel up immediately – talk about a miracle of medicine.

Martin goes to see Pablo and tells him that Manuel is not dead, unfortunately. Pablo is relieved, he didn’t want to carry a dead mutt man on his conscience, or hurt AP any more than he already has. Martin tells him about Crescencio’s accusations, but Pablo interjects, since he didn’t start the fight and he was acting in self-defense the whole time. Now he’s more worried about his hand and losing AP. He accepted Mariana’s financial help in a moment of desperation, but he doesn’t want to take anything from her. He’d rather lose his hand than any chance of ever getting back together with AP (Are you sure, Pablo? Extremely whiny and spineless AP doesn’t seem like such a prize right now). Martin offers to help pay for the operation and they will find a way for Pablo to pay him back later on. Pablo is thankful, although a bit worried because he's about to run out of money.

With Botel, Martin asks him to understand Vero’s point of view regarding Malena, because she has suffered a lot. Yes, but Vero needs to know the whole truth. Just then Malena shows up, too. She’s looking for Vero, but she just missed her – she went to talk to Jorge about her parents.
Malena tells Martin the whole truth about the abuse she went through. Martin feels very sorry about the whole thing, but thinks that Malena should allow Vero some time and space, she will come searching for her. Malena is impatient but Botel asks her to hold on, too, with Aaron on the loose she can be in danger.

Veronica arrives at the Prado Castello offices and who is there, to surprise her? Daddy dearest, back from the dead, and with a sob story to go with. He has been looking for her desperately, he is her father. At first Vero is reluctant to listen to him, but she eventually DOES!!! She’d rather listen to this guy that she doesn’t know than to a woman who has proven to be such a good friend in a great time of need.
Arghhhh…
Anyway, Veronica remembers Aaron’s abuse, the prostitutes, the alcohol, so she’s not willing to kiss and make up just yet. Aaron mentions a doll that Veronica used to have and how he would kiss her every night – she does remember these moments, too, but not the person she was with – wanna bet this wasn’t Aaron? He then comes up with a dozen lies about being so heart-broken after Malena left him that he turned to booze. And then he got depressed and then he lost his memory and couldn’t find her anymore and so on and so forth. Veronica is not completely buying his story, at first. Then he tells her that he even asked Malena to take her because he knew she would need her mother and Malena refused because a child would have disturbed her life with her new lover. For some stooopid reason this rings true to Vero, so she asks to know everything about what happened and why she was abandoned. Oh, but Aaron couldn’t talk evil about Vero’s own mother (more than he already has??). He just wants Vero’s forgiveness, a little bit of affection if possible. She can’t promise this, she already has a father, which is Jorge.
Aaron is repentant, he loved her so much, but Malena’s abandonment broke him, made him go crazy. He leaves Vero a phone number, so she can call him whenever she needs to talk. She asks him not to search for her, she will call if she decides to do so.

At the hospital Malena is trying to comfort AP, who is crying for Manuel, for Pablo and for everything else under the sun. Malena thinks the whole thing happened because of Manuel’s aggressiveness, but AP says this is God’s way of punishing her, because she lied so many times. Ughhh….
Malena goes to search for Veronica, leaving a message for Botel with AP.

Emi is in his hotel room, packing to go back to Mexico. Virginia comes to talk to him, in another attempt to make up. She promises to support him and only him from now on, but Emi doesn’t just want blind obedience, he wants her to admit that Vero deserves whatever Jorge is willing to give her. Virginia agrees and again says that she was just trying to be on Salma’s side because she saw her so upset.
Emi finally caves, after Virginia starts to kiss him and they fall on the bed together.

Martin and Botel find AP alone and ask about Malena. Botel is very worried to find out that she left to look for Vero, because Aaron is out there and he’s dangerous. (Oh, is he ever right!!!)
Crescencio tells AP that Eleazar is in the pueblo and he will come to the city to accompany them in their time of need. So what if AP isn’t in the mood for romance, she better play nice and marry him.

Veronica is in the office, waiting for Jorge to come from the airport. She’s crying, not knowing what to think anymore.
Outside, Aaron is happy that he managed to find Veronica and put some doubt in her head. He wants to wait for her to get out of the building to follow her and see where she lives.
But before he can do that Malena shows up and he and Clemente circle her and manage to push her into a car and take her away, menacing that if she does something rash, they will kill her and then she will never know what he told Vero.

Thank you so much for the early post...My husband and I just love reading your post with our morning coffee! We get a good laugh when you cross out the words of what everyone is REALLY thinking! Great job!

Kim and Joel

"He’d rather lose his hand than any chance of ever getting back together with AP (Are you sure, Pablo? Extremely whiny and spineless AP doesn’t seem like such a prize right now)"

hah! Well said, Adriana. Maybe spineless AP isn't much of a prize, but this recap surely is. Thanks so much!

El niño Emiliano! Hee hee.

The antics in the Hospital Ce_ter – the comings and goings, the encounters in the hallways – have something of the drawing room farce about them. Oh wait, people are hurt. This is serious stuff, right. Sorry. :-)

Kim and Joel,
I don't know if you've posted here before, but you guys are new to me. Welcome to the Patio of Lowered Expectations! Hope we see you around again. And I agree – it's funny when Adriana tells us what people are REALLY thinking.

There was a choppiness to the editing last night. Assuming that two episodes weren't slapped together, the Uni tijeras must have been going to town. I suspect the Nanciyaga scene was cut a bit (not a bad decision). There was also a lightning swift flash of the Cancún beach and then a shift to something else. Presumably Uni decided to cut out some lingering bikini shots.

Also, I think it was Marty (or was it Botel?) who repeated Julio's story: that Manuel attacked Pablo and Pablo was only acting in self-defense (i.e., the truth). So when did Julio decide to man up and bear witness to what really happened? The last time we heard from him, he was ready to let everyone believe it was Pablo's fault.

Fantastic Adriana. Thank you so much. I loved the title and agree with it.

I wanted to scream when Vero stood there and listened to what Aaron had to say and yet refused to hear an explanation from Magdalena.

And then Magdalena decides to go and see Vero on her own and puts herself in harms way. I was hoping that Botel and Marty would arrive just in time to save her but they didn't.

Hahaha. I loved when Virginia referred to Emi as "El Niño".

Eleazar doesn't seem so bad. He seems nice. And Blanquita was left smitten with him. If she falls in love with him maybe she can marry him instead.

Grandpa Goat giving it all to Manuel? He'll soon regret that if he does.

NovelaMaven, I don't recall who it was either who mentioned that Julio had given the whole story. But I'm glad to know that Julio did the right thing. He's back in my good graces. Now if only he could stop the moping.

Kim and Joel, Welcome to The Patio. Hope you'll continue to join in on the discussion.

Only caught a couple of minutes but recap fabulous as always.

Can the casting department please find a girl for Julio! AP does not deserve this hunk. And I'm finally leaning to her not deserving Pablo either, though he's no prize.

I wish Emi would go back to ME and hook up with Nanci again. Those two need to get their minds off of their obsessions.

Poor stupid Malena. Wasn't Aaron going to hold her for ransom before? Does his talk with Vero now put that in question as he wouldn't want to mess with her impression of him now? hmm

Botel should just say to Vero: I'm the reason you lost your mother. That may shut Vero up long enough to hear some truth.

Thanks for the recap Adriana Noel!

Martin looked so good in that jacket when he was in the hospital with Vero and AP talking to Crescencio.

I thought Aaron would kidnap Vero when he was talking to her. Glad he didn't. I feel sorry for Magdalena. She has gone through so much.

I missed yesterday but want to say thank you to Eli. I enjoyed your recap early evening.

Adriana Noel---What a morning blast.
Cougar alert---sainted brother---El Nino---He has no time to baby-sit---AP is crying
for Manuel, for Pablo and for everything else under the sun.
Like I said, Adriana, it was a blast. Thank you.

Yes Emi was at the bar but I thought that it looked like he was drinking a glass if ice water. I know, a glace of water with ice at a bar?---but it did look like that.

Grandpa Goat wants Manny to get well and shower them all with some of his outsiders wisdom. WHAT? When has Manny ever had any kind of wisdom at all punto?

V-snake that pretty little viper can sure lie can't she?

Julio has changed his story---when did that happen?

If Magdalena had been smart and fast thinking as soon as Aaron shoved her in the back seat, she should have opened the other door and exited yelling for help. They were right out in public, Aaron and his gun wouldn't have been able to do anything with people close by. I guess that the writers want her tied up and held captive for a while. Maybe when Vero finds out about it, she might change her mind about Magdalena her mother.

must see tv.

Adriana, thank you so much for the recap! Yeah, Manuel waking up was a real miracle (not!), I hate the fact that the bad guys continue to score wins, things like that make the story tedious and I really don't want to sit through any of it, I wonder if that's why ratings are so low? Who wants to sit through the bad guys scoring win after win?

Thanks Adriana...Every single word was wonderful. I especially enjoyed your choice to eliminate "the useless chitchat". Alas, there's always a lot of that.

Your take on the sexy Nanciyaga scene: "...and this is all so gratuitous, that it makes me cringe." So true. There have been some scenes in this one, where I'm thinking....I sure hope my husband or son don't walk through the room right now! They'll certainly wonder about my choice of viewing material.

"her sainted brother, and Ana Perla " crying for Manual for Pablo and for everything under the sun" both" struck my funny bone. And when she got left in the hallway and told NOT TO MOVE, like she was some 2-year-old toddler, I just had to laugh again. She stayed. And she sniveled. Non-stop. The actress surely has no problem remembering her lines. She seldom says much but oh my, how she snivels.

Virginia is a total skank but she's the most interesting right now as she twists and turns and tries to extricate herself out of temporary blunders that show her true greedy nature.

As for el Niño, I agree, he needs to head back to Mina Escondida for another purification ritual before Nancyblahblah gets up to more Martin mayhem.

Great recap Adriana. And welcome Kim and Joel. "Come back real soon" as they say.

Thanks for this stellar recap, Adriana. Well done.

Like the rest of you, I was appalled (but not particularly surprised) that while Verónica adamantly rejects Malena's attempts to explain herself, she, all too willingly, is going to grant Aarón that same opportunity.

How generous of Mariana to offer to pay for Pablo's reconstructive surgery even though he has finally made it clear to her that he prefers Ana Perla. I don't quite understand why she is not more well thought of by most here on the Patio.

Judy,

"Virginia is a total skank but she's the most interesting right now..."

Not exactly a ringing endorsement but thanks, I'll take what I can get.

Welcome Kim and Joel, gin and tonics await you at the Virginia Table.

Carlos

First of all, a big Welcome to Kim and Joel! Thank you for your comment, I hope I see you around the blog soon. I was happy to make you smile, this is what we strive for.

NovelaMaven, it was Martin who said that Manuel was the instigator, but he spoke so fast I didn't get all the details. If Julio spoke, he either did it off camera, or while being very naked, so Univision felt the need to cut the scene short.

Carvivlie, I find Nancy so unlikable, I wouldn't wish for Emi, a basically good guy, to end up with her. Maybe some sane, unattached lady will show up before all is said and done. Then again, if the elders spoke...

Duchess, Aaron is too smart to kidnap Vero, he needs her in his corner. But kidnapping Malena isn't better, she will get away from him eventually and then what is he supposed to do? Run off with Botel's ransom money?

Eli, the bad guys winning all the time truly IS maddening and last night was especially bad. Aaron is awful, but I find Manuel's sanctification unbearable.

Gringo, Malena has proven not to be very smart when it comes to Aaron. We can blame it on the fact that with him she is just powerless - too much abuse left a deep mark, or more reasonable, yet, this is the best the writers can do with the story. Yes, she was right in the middle of the street, her muteness drove me crazy, too.

Judy, I did notice that AP was asked not to move and she did just that. WHAT? She is pretty, but her personality (or lack of one, to be more precise) is such a turn off, how is this girl being cahsed by two pretty boys at the same time?
I kind of like Virginia, she has an answer for everything and she is a master manipulator. And she does it all without causing any major crime... so far.

Carlos, I think that Mariana is not very likable because she has no self respect. To think of it, none of the ladies are painted as being particularly smart or independent, so maybe we should cut Mariana some slack. Her offering to pay for the surgery could be because she loves Pablo, but she also wants him tied to her for good, though.

Mauricio, it's clear to me that Eleazar and Blanquita are meant to become a couple, but until Nancy reads it in her leaves, I'm afarid we can't be too sure. Raymunda is really annoying with her mini-gramps routine - she is turning into her father's daughter.

"Then again if the elders spoke..." Too funny Adriana.

And yes, seems like Eleazar (he looks better with his hat on) and Blanquita are meant to be, but we'll have to wait until the annoying Nancyblahblah reads her snail shells or whatever.

On the subject of seeming lack of personality, I had a friend, quiet, shy, never had much to say, eyes lowered, etc. and the men in our circle of friends just were all ga-ga about her. Annoyed the hell out of the rest of us gals of course. But I think she appealed to the protector/strong man side of the fellows. Sure was potent stuff. it wasn't until she got independent, went back to school and got a job, that her husband became disenchanted. Then separation and eventually divorce.

So with that perspective, I understand Ana Perla's fragile attraction quite well.

"If Julio spoke, he either did it off camera, or while being very naked, so Univision felt the need to cut the scene short."

Hahahahaha! Well played, Adriana! Well, the second possibility is certainly the more interesting one. :D

I would pay to see a naked Julio, heck I'd even give up my first born.

*Disclaimer, I have no children*

Carlos---Nice try in trying to entice the new Caray mates Kim and Joel over to Virginia's table with gin and tonic's. No one will be sitting at that viper's table
She has already attempted murder. What will she do when her chips are down?

Nice of Mariana to offer to pay for Pablo's operation even after he had told her that it ain't gonna happen. Oh just wait until our "sweet lady" Mariana goes to work on our "un-gentleman Pablo." Remember the wedding invitations have already been sent out. Haven't they?

the gringo

Adriana,

"If Julio spoke, he either did it off camera, or while being very naked, so Univision felt the need to cut the scene short."

LOL. Good one.

Thank you for clearing up who it was that said that Manuel was the instigator.

JudyB,

(he looks better with his hat on)

I agree. Eleazar does look better with the hat on. Hope he keeps it on when he makes it to the big city.

I was trying to remember where I had last seen the actor playing Eleazar, so I finally looked him up. His name is Alex Camargo and he was Abel Durán on Telemundo's "Los Miserables."

NovelaMaven, thank you for the info on the actor. Interesting how these actors move from Telemundo to Televisa and from Televisa to Telemundo.

gringo,

"Nice try in trying to entice the new Caray mates Kim and Joel..."

Here in Texas we call that hospitality, you're also welcome at the Virginia Table.

Carlos

Great recap Adriana Thank you. Man that Medical Ce_ter gets way too much action. You would think it's the only hospital in the DF.

I did love seeing Marty wearing The Fonz's jacket. Looked like he was just going to jump on a steel horse and ride away into the sunset.

I concur with the "me-strong-man-protect-dumb-childwoman" theory. Maybe an ingrained instinct of the days of hunter-gatherers. In an exaggerated scenario, I've seen men like Grandpa Goat consider a woman with any kind of opinion "troublesome" and encourage their sons to stay away from "independent women"... and my opinion of THAT is just not PC enough to type here!

Adriana noel I like your recapin prowess, good snark too. Some of these people on this tn is sickeningly anoying, I'd name them
But its to many. One walks around with a green stick being over opinionated, and condemimg whoever disagrees with him.
He needs an enema. That can be said for most of them.

Nina,

One walks around with a green stick being over opinionated, and condemimg whoever disagrees with him. He needs an enema. That can be said for most of them.

LOL Good one. I agree. What's up with that green stick anyway?
